This is my all time favorite bar and bistro. They continue to grow and still maintain the same quality food I've been enjoying there for years. The only reason I don't get more checkins at this location is I am usually too distracted with the beer choices and comfortable environment to remember to checkin. Their beer is good, with clever names and great artwork. The Sky Hag will always keep you on your toes. I have never had a negative experience here, and the only frustrating thing that happens to me is struggling to remember which of the delicious dressings I want on my side salad.

Where to start. Had a work function here.... and it did not disappoint. I cannot speak on the quality of the brew (cuz I don't drink) so this review is based on atmosphere and food. I understand that pizza is easy. Everyone can do it.... yadda yadda yadda.... We went with the following Garlic Bread, Pretzels and Flatbreads. The garlic bread was good, I mean it was cheesy and garlicky, but was over matched by the pretzels. I personally do not like pretzels, they are meant to drink with, which is not my thing. BUT.... the pretzels were darned tasty, not dry, not salty, hot and really, really good. But this was beaten hands down by the flatbread/pizza. Now be warned, I am a thin crust guy, so this was right down my alley. Greasy (I got pepperoni - actually margherita with pepperoni), tomatoey, flat and cheesy. OMG This pizza was good. Now to the atmosphere - the place is small inside, but they have some limited seating outside, which is where we parked - Note: nice touch with the hops growing outside... made for interesting conversation. Dear reader, here is the part that you will prolly NEVER see... we overheard the BEST conversation while we dined - one actual quote "...when I check out... it will be in Laos.... on heroin!" Thigh slapping stuff.... Good food, good seats, GREAT people watching (and good beer from the beer drinkers in the group), I would say try this out.

This was a delightful experience! Everything from the server to the food to the restaurant ambiance was just above and beyond; such a fantastic balance of it all. We enjoyed two pizzas and a couple of beverages. The "special" of the day was a pepperoni and pepper with their house-made marinara. The other was the chicken, bacon, and artichoke. Both were so tasty! My friend enjoyed a couple of beers, and I enjoyed an iced tea. It was just splendid. If you want to avoid the chain restaurants scattered throughout Kent Station, this is a wonderful, delicious choice! Highly recommended!

My review is long overdue. This place is a gem in downtown Kent. I have been here several times with my husband and not only is the beer absolutely delicious...the food is also amazing. My favorite is the Grilled Cheese Panini...simple, but so tasty! Support local businesses-eat and drink local!

Very cool place to come. Small but it was not packed at all. Had a pastrami blt it was there daily special. I will just let the picture describe its self. It did not disappoint. Only complaint if any I think they should buy a nicer TV and hang it on the wall. Looks like they have a good beer selection too but didn't try any. Will come back again

I love this place, great food, beer and service. If you have a big group it may be hard to find seating unless the weather is great, then you will have some options outside. I try and make it to this place before noon because of the seating but that only tells you one thing, this place rocks and people will come so don't wait!

This is my go-to spot for lunch when i'm at work. It's a smaller little bistro that's kinda tucked away. If you don't know it's there, you'll miss it! Let's talk about the service first - it's wonderful. The chef's there are amazing & friendly. The servers are the same way. I've never had a terrible experience or walked away feeling like it was "sub-par" as far as customer service wise. They know my drink by heart & they know my usual (i'll get to that in a second). The servers & chef's all come to make conversation while you're waiting for your food or eating your meal, ask how the food tastes & just make you feel right at home. The food, oh man! The BLT is my absolute favorite. I get it 99% of the time I go. It's unlike any other BLT i've had. I'm not sure if it's the vinaigrette they put on it, or the fresh baguette it's on...but whatever they do...you'll fall in love immediately. Their pizza's are delicious as well, i've had a couple different but their cheese (i know it seems pretty lame, but seriously, try it!) is SO good! Honestly, can't go wrong with stopping in here. Whether it be for lunch, or for dinner, they've got great beer on tap (that they brew themselves!) & yummy food!

During our stay in Seattle our hotel was in Kent. Every time I yelped for the highest ranking place to eat this area it kept coming up on top. Since I made my husband and son try breweries all the way across the country from Tampa to Seattle...they were a little over it. Using my charm and yelp proof, I got my husband on board. Son stayed behind. Since we went before four we were able to get individual pizzas I got a white pizza with chips and husband got a sausage pizza with alas. I tried the local brew subjet IPA...pizza was great and we were grateful for the lunch deal that we could try pizzas specific to our likings. Service was great and a nice atmosphere. Outside seating there where kids playing with sidewalk chalk and having a fabulous time. Very enjoyable time.

This place is SO close to our house, and yet, it took us almost 2-years to try it out! When you walk in, it feels like a brewery. Selections written on an enormous chalkboard, concrete floor and a wrap-around bar - where it seemed most of the 'regulars' were sitting. We were asked to seat ourselves - which I don't mind...usually...but, they weren't busy, and without even looking up, the bartender just barked out the order to us. Fine. Not a deal breaker. We asked for a recommendation on their beers - and I ALWAYS do this, mostly because I want to see what the server knows. After her reading every option off the board, I realized she didn't know anything about any of them. It's possible she'd never even tasted them. Sad. In any event, all was not lost since I'm fairly well versed in the beer-o-sphere. We ordered two different selections, and enjoyed each. We then ordered a flat bread pizza - the Carne, I believe it was. And, it was very good. The crust was crispy, there was enough sauce and cheese and everything tasted as it should. However, at a $16 price-point, I'm not sure that I'd order it again. There are things I'll splurge on every time, but, you could get something similar for quite a bit cheaper and like it just as much. There wasn't a lot of parking, and the atmosphere inside was a little cold both in temperature and in an uninviting way. Not to mention, there was no music or any noise - so, we had to nearly whisper to have a conversation if we didn't want the other patrons at the bar to hear us. All-in-all, it was an OK experience. I may go back to get my growler filled, but probably not to eat again.

I love how this place is so quaint and homey, clean and sophisticated. The prices were amazingly low. I arrived during lunch prices too which made the meals very affordable as well! Salad and personal pizza for $8?! yeah! The beers are amazingly cheap for what they are and they are well described and listed at the doorway. The service here is amazing, personal, friendly, and super pretty and cute! ;) I felt right at home, right away! The food was yummy and the salads were all zesty. I really enjoyed my visit here. Great on my wallet, great beer selections, fun foods, great service, and a great little place. Thanks!

I've been to this place twice so far and I love it! Lovely outside seating. Pizzas are really good and have a nice crunchy crust. I love their vegetarian sausage sandwich. Attentive staff, delicious food, and great brews ( my fav is pre-flight pilsner), growlers to go...what more can one ask for? I'll be back!

Pretty cool little place. Food was tasty. Staff was polite but not very social. They asked what we wanted to drink before we even sat down....then when they brought us our drinks they asked if we were ready to order our food. Needless to say we felt a little bit rushed.

I've never even heard of this place until a friend old me about it so I didn't really know what to expect. I actually liked it A LOT! The place is extremely small so it gets loud quick and easy but I like the coziness and intimacy of it! It was very clean and I liked that, too! The beers on tap were really good. I had the brainless raspberry ale and I was pleasantly surprised. The server gave me a little sample before I decided to get it so I thought that was nice. Maybe I should have sampled a few others cus I definitely had my eye on... Like a few others. But I was very happy with it; you could actually taste the raspberry but it wasn't fruitly overpowering like a cider. You still get the mellow of the ale, the raspberry works well to brighten it up. We split the chicken bacon artichoke white-sauce pizza and the portion was pretty decent; I was comfortably full. And it was SO GOOD. I could actually smell the bacon being cooked in the back, everything tastes fresh. Even the crust was good, and I usually skip the crust. When you ripped the pieces, the cheese went haywire (like in TMNT (you know how sexy cartoon pizzas are). Perfect perfect perfect. I wish my tummy wasn't so little cus I wanted another pizza, but I had to save room for the beer. The service here was alright; not extremely friendly, warm, comforting... but definitely not rude or mean. It was decent enough for me to want to come back. Regardless of the "eh" service (which I am keenly picky of, as a former Seattle city waitress), I would still give it 5 stars for the ambiance, the food, the drinks, and location... it's so close to my house/job! It's close to kent station so you could shop or watch a movie, you could walk over to showare to catch a game or show, or stroll the local shops in downtown kent... Or read a book at the library I don't know. I'm in love! Its wonderful local gem. I'm already excited to come back.

It's nice to have this local craft brewing/bistro in downtown Kent. Good food and tasy beer. Expect to try some interesting ales as this crew isn't afraid to experiment with brew. Always something new on tap. Good place for growler fills. After trying their popular IPA, I recommend trying their coconut stout!

The staff was extremely welcoming of our group of five. I had a cider and caprese panini. WOW it was excellent. The atmosphere was very cool and laid back. Our waitress was friendly and quick to get our drinks and offer refills when needed. Big thank you to the man who bought our first round of drinks. I will definitely return in the future.

Their flatbread pizza is amazing! The beer is really good too, and there is outside seating. They have great fresh pizza toppings :)

Yelp brought us here, and did not fail us. Carne pizza was great. Thin crust with perfect toppings. Service was effective and friendly. Beer, summer sour wheat was good with a unique sour secondary taste. Overall, a great little local spot.

This place is so small and cute!! And it's so close to my house but I've nevverrrr even seen it before! Thanks to Yelp, I've fallen in love with it though. They have a really large outdoor area so I'm sure once the weather gets nicer they'll be able to accommodate more people, but the inside is pretty small. I heard that they're expanding as well, so yay for more seats! I had no idea what to get, so I just got the beer my friend had - the Lil Brainless Raspberry. It was so good! It weirded me out though because the raspberry was so strong... Like it almost tasted like a tea. It was so good. And it was pretty strong, I think, cuz I was buzzed like halfway through it lol. We got the Chicken, Bacon, and Artichoke white sauce pizza and it was sooo good. It was a pretty good size too - even with two of us, we got pretty full. We also ordered the garlic cheesy bread later on, and that was pretty good. The sauce it came with was like super generic, and the bread itself was almost kind of bland, but I think that's because I'm used to chain pizza places and their overuse of garlic and cheese lol. It was a really cool experience and atmosphere! I know I'll be back. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the bartender was kind of scary/mean... I don't think he smiled the whole time we were there lol. Also, it gets really loud once it gets busy. We had to yell to hear each other. But don't let that dissuade you from coming. It's worth a try!!

Rounded up from 3.5, but I want to like them and see them grow and succeed. The good: the beer. Tried two of their creations and both were very good. The patio. Even though you're in downtown Kent, you feel transported. Clean area and nice garden. The service. One of our two servers was knowledgable and attentive but not overbearing. Stars lost for: the pizza crust. Too tough, not chewy enough. The other server. Took her smoke break right there on the patio making us all smell it. Sorta rudely told one of us to get her own water. Take the food up one more notch and work out the training of staff.

We had a nice dinner at Airways last evening. We sat at the bar and I had the Chocolate Stout which was great. My fiancé enjoyed a few of their IPAs. They have a tv behind the bar so I was able to watch some hockey. For an appetizer we ordered the soft pretzel with stone ground mustard. The pretzel was ok but a little too crispy for me. The margherita flatbread was great and just enough food for 2 people to share. The staff was all friendly and attentive and we enjoyed our conversation with everyone who served us. We will definitely be back!

We came for the beer, which is really tasty. It's brewed down the street at their other location. I had the IPA of the day. Top notch. We had a really good flat bread pizza with a caesar salad (a bit too much iceberg lettuce though). We enjoyed both. I'll be back for sure when I'm in the area of downtown Kent. One suggestion; turn down the lights.

Enjoyed a Sky Hag IPA on the patio. The better half sipped on the Sunjet IPA and found the citrus flavor and moderate hops to her liking. Simple, down to earth ambiance and close to the Interurban Trail make this a perfect respite to a bicycle ride in the Kent valley.

This place is a gem! We were at Kent Station to get some drinks before a hockey game. Not surprisingly on a Friday night all the typical spots were packed but a quick yelp search led us to this place. We were not disappointed. It's on the smaller side, maybe 25 seats inside and another 10 outside. They were pretty full when we got there, even with their credit card machine being down. Their beer selection is good. They had 4 or 5 from their brewery and another 10 or so from localish breweries. They also have some stuff from Finn River that I'll definitely be trying when we go back. While we didn't get good this time around, if it tastes as good as it smells, I'll be set. We're already planning on coming back during lunch next week and have a feeling this is a place we will being visiting frequently

Love this place, great beer, great food and friendly staff. I wish they would provide descriptions of each beer along with IBU and ABV etc.. If you can't provide that, at least have knowledgeable staff who have the time to describe them which isn't always possible

  • Stephanie S.

So good! This is probably one of the best places in Kent. The food is always consistent and very tasty. They have a good variety of pizza and sandwiches on the menu. They also have their own beer on tap plus some other local guest taps, so lots of variety. There is something for everyone, worth a stop by!

It's the best pizza and beer in Kent, WA. Awesome food. So much better than the Ram at Kent Stn. Don't waste your time at the Ram.

I actually found this place on yelp by accident and I am sure glad I did!!! We live but a few blocks from here and never even knew it existed. My boyfriend is into beer, not just any kind. He's very picky about what he drinks, and I figured I'd surprise him by taking him here, seeing all the high reviews and what not. It's small. And loud, yet we love it! We ordered a pizza, kinda expecting something similar to pizza Hut, boy were we wrong. It was probably the best pizza I've ever had. Very fresh. So good that we actually ordered an extra pizza to go! My boyfriend loved the beer choices and the fact that multiple items are made right there. This is now both of our favorite. And we will be back many times. The only thing I would change is the family friendly part. Outside there is seating for 21 and under, inside is 21 and over only so if you're planning to come for a family dinner you'll have to sit outside, this could be an issue when winter comes but the waitress did say there were trying to expand to a more family friendly area. Either way it was great.

Oh man. Try to take advantage of their Pizza for Lunch special, at least to try the different kinds. I got the Carcifori(sp?) that was super amazeballs. Pesto, artichokes, other yummies? Yes please! Comes with a salad, but it's a bit smaller than a personal size pizza because of the special. They have fantastic outdoor seating in a courtyard, but you can also enjoy the atmosphere of the inside area, which is a bar/pub interior. Our waitress was really nice and laid back, but the water girl/food runner kept taking things I wasn't finished with snaking the menus when I wanted to look at more food! I had the Sky Hag and the Wheat Beer. They were ok. But I'm no beer expert. They had other tasty treats that I'd certainly go back and try. Great place to come after work and explore the shops around Kent Station.

Airways always has amazing service, and we are so happy to see that they are expanding. We love their daily specials they create, and the cuisine is generally pizzas, paninis, salad and other munchies. I love their focus on fresh made local ingredients, and their beers are a hit! They also generally have a number of rotating guest beers on tap, also. For non-beer drinkers, they do have ciders and a couple wines, as well. This is a favorite place to go after work and escape before heading home to the kiddos. :) It's nice to follow them on Facebook, because that's how we get sucked info their various daily featured menu items they try out. I've never been let down, EVER!

So good!!! I had the Sky Hag IPA which was a little bitter for my usual tastes, but gradually grew on me. For an entire I had the BLT salad which was SO GOOD! I have dreams about that salad!!! I can't wait to go back again!!

Been enjoying the brew for several years; about time I posted a review. Awesome brews. And decent food. What more do you want? Okay, I got more. They're expanding! Always felt kinda small; but that may be changing.

I'm a fan of small local businesses, restaurants and breweries alike, so brewpubs are some of my favorite places. Airways Bistro in Kent is a great place to stop for lunch, dinner and a pint when you are in the South Sound/Kent area. They have a menu of salads, sandwiches and flatbreads. I have a hard time ordering anything except my favorite, the Bacon, Tomato and Arugula flatbread. However, the best thing I ever had there was a daily special -- a handmade chicken pot pie that blew my socks off. (Always ask if they have any specials du jour!) The actual brewery is across town in Kent, where they have a taproom (no food, just beer). The Bistro's beer list always has many of their own regulars, special seasonals, plus guest taps including hard cider. The restaurant will be expanding with more seating, including patio seating, and a larger kitchen and menu. Can. Not. Wait.

I LOVED the Beer selection at this place not to mention Airways own beers are amazing. We also ordered the PRETZEL with Mustard [$4] and a BACON, TOMATO & ARUGULA pizza [$13] The pretzel was large and the pizza tasted great. Our friend who was with us had the TOASTED BLT [$9] which was actually quite small for the price but he said it did taste delicious. The one thing keeping me from posting more stars is their location. It is tiny, sterile and not at all inviting. They hardly have any seats and someone had the bright idea to either make the tables the size for only two people or more then ten which means you have to share a table with several people you don't know if your party is more the just 2. The lighting and style makes you feel like you are in a hospital waiting room not a restaurant of any sort. Will I go back? Sure.....when they move to a new location or expand this one and let someones stay at home wife who thinks she is a designer design the place's decor. Until the I will just go to their Brewery & Tap room across town to experience their tasty brews.

The parking is tough, it is small and a tad bit noisy. The servers seem to have a little attitude. The beer is amazing some of the best IPA I have ever tasted. Food is great especially the pizza. The growlers are expensive and seem to never be big enough.

    (4)
  • Elisa A.

Had a couple drinks and food with some coworkers after work one afternoon. The service was great, the pretzel was a delicious appetizer and the pizza was better than I expected. The beer selection was great as well. Definitely worth trying out at least once - planning on going more often.

  • Susan W.

Met 2 gal pals here last week for a few pints & a bite. They are a cool brewing co. in that they have other local breweries ales on tap. But they will only fill growlers to go with their beer. This may be some deal that all breweries have, don't know. Anyhoo, Space is a little small but it wasn't too busy on the afternoon we went. Very friendly server. I think he may have been one of the owners. My friends each had a pizza. More like a flatbread. Very good!!! I had a Artichoke Pesto flatbread sandwich that was served with a nice side salad. The girls & I swapped pieces of sandwich & pizza so we got to try a little of everything. Got a growler of the Sky Hag IPA to go. If you do not like hoppy beers you would hate it. If you like hoppy beers your taste buds will be in heaven.

  • Dayana M.

The stars are for the amazing pretzel with beer cheese otherwise nothing really to jump about on this one you walk into a room with a weird layout doesn't have a brewery vibe at all it seems just like a regular bar They don't offer flights!!!!! I REPEAT!!! No flights!!! You can get 2 schooners at a time which is as good as it gets! -_- Doesn't really pull you in and keep you there The beers I sampled were decent nothing to memorable if you're in the area and just want a really good pretzel here you go!

  • Rickey R.

So, the only reason I am not giving the Bistro (please note this is not the Tap Room location) is because I had to walk upstairs to use the lavatory, yes, lame huh!? But really, other than that, this location is well worth going to. It's sort of tiny-maybe seats up to 30ish? but the moment my wife and I got there, the bartender/waiter was greeted us and gave a sample to my wife, whom she didn't know what choice of beer she wanted, awesome! It also helps that he was very knowledgeable on the beers and food. He gave us his recommendations on food and the service is quick. We ordered The pretzle w/cheese sause, a garden salad and some bread stuff...haha, I will upload photos but that was enough to get us full. The portions are decent size and NOT expensive. I don't think there is anything awful to say about this place, it was our first time there. Even though the place was pretty back, the place was noisy, the way the acoustics flow, it doesn't seem loud there, which is perfect. GO THERE and support local breweries. OH ya, please know that if you don't like beer, it's ALL GOOD, wine is served there also, MMMMM, wine!!!

  • Margo H.

Great spot in Downtown Kent. Love the food. Simple and done extraordinarily well. I LOVE the pretzel. Plain! I could sit here and try the different beers all day long while chit chatting with friends. They have fantastic wine cocktails to try if your not a beer drinker as well. Definitely a place to come check out. PS their next door to a bakery. That's an added bonus.

  • C. T.

No hiding for this gem! The beer was a great (locally brewed!) start, with excellent help in selecting one. The pizzas were great, with a simple yet delicious cheese blend, plus interesting take on classics (the ham and apple should become known as the WA pizza to rival Hawaiian).

  • HR M.

Easily the best beer in Kent. A small bar but a friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The food menu isn't too large and what they do make is better than I would expect from such a small kitchen. Their Chocolate Stout is off the chain. Most of their beers are really good.

  • Susitna B.

I love their pizza! They make their own dough. My parents and I each had a pizza and none of us could finish but boy did we try! Good selection of Northwest beers that changes. (I think depending on seasons) my Dad enjoys the opportunity to try local brews. Highly recommend!

My favorite place to grab lunch. The service here is always great and the food is delicious. While I've loved most everything I've tried on the menu what I really look forward to are the amazing experimental dishes created by Ken and Steve. I've learned to keep an eye on their Facebook page so I don't miss any of those limited time specials. Just wish I could enjoy one of their stouts or ales with lunch but thankfully there are growlers to take home. Keep on being awesome Airways!

The beer was pretty good, but this place is not a brewery. The food was not very good. We had a "pizza". It was a piece of flat bread pulled out of a bag, and a few topping warmed in an oven. It tasted ok, but honestly not much above 7/11 food. There are much better places than this. My vote is a big raspberry. :(

Dropped in tonight as I was staying in Kent and saw the glowing reviews of this place and I wasn't disappointed. In fact the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is bc the food could still use a bit of work (which I hear they will be working on with some expansion that's on the way). It's a pretty small place as it currently sits, and I walked in around 7 on this Wednesday and found this place rather busy, and filling up quickly. The rush was certainly unexpected by the staff as well as they had exactly 1 person manning the place and 1 in the kitchen. With that said it was great service, I was never left waiting for a beer and neither was anyone else in the establishment from what I could tell. Beers on tap were plentiful btw their own brews and others from local brewers. As others have mentioned, they don't offer tasting flights but have no problems pouring you a small sample. It's also nice that they offer both 8oz and 16oz pours, all at very reasonable prices. With that said, the food could've used some work in terms of what was offered, how it turned out and maybe price. The hummus I got was pretty good, but $8 seemed a bit steep. I also got a chicken caeser wrap, which wasn't bad except for the lack of chicken on an entire half of it (it also took a while, which I didn't mind this time around with them being busy but considering it's one of the few things on the menu that required not oven or cooking time I thought it could've come out a bit sooner). Looking over the rest of the menu the flatbread pizzas also appeared expensive, especially when coupled with their relatively cheap drink offerings. In any case, beers were great, service was great and I ended up walking out w/a pint glass as a souvenir and a bomber of their choc stout to go as well. If I'm back in town I'll def stop by again to see how things are going

Good beer good food their is my favorite. Only reason I give it instead of is because everyone seems to know that it's good and I have to stand about 1/2 the time. My favorite they currently have is the tsunami stout, but many favor the skyhag ipa. Anyway check it out if you haven't already.

This place has great beer and good food but we received HORRIBLE customer service today. We were kicked out and given our bill, told by the waitress (patio, blonde) "it looked like we were winding down" without even asking if we wanted anything else. The waitress proceeded to very rudely clear our table as we were talking and finally came and said that we were taking away business and needed to leave. I told her that we would have continued ordering if she had given us the opportunity. She said that we'd already been there too long. Mind you, the same groups of people remained at both of the tables next to us from when we arrived. We had definitely planned to order food and more drinks, but we were rudely kicked out. I will not be returning to Airways, unfortunately, as I have never had such bad service.

Good rotating beer selection. The family friendly patio is nice. Food is good and the staff is friendly. My husband and I enjoy coming here for lunch.

Great beer and awesome pizza. Defiantly coming back for food and beer. Didn't give em 5 stars because no one came to check on us until we were ready to pay. Which was about 30-45 mins.

When we arrived the executive chef came over and and told us all about his specials and talked about some of the beers. Then the cutie beertender came over and set us up with some tastes. The beers were fantastic. The service was great and the food was outta this world. I will definitely be back and soon..

Stopped in on the way back from the pumpkin patch. Greatly exceeded expectations! Great service and food, but even better beers. Both the IPAs were excellent as well as the Tickle der Zwickel Festbier! Would definitely suggest for anyone looking for a beer and a pretzel in Kent.

I really enjoyed my visit here for lunch. I had the Sky Hag IPA and the Loud Lady IPA. Great IPA's. The Loud Lady had a little more citrus nodes than the Sky Hag. I had the salami flatbread sandwich. It's a five cheese blend grilled cheese with salami and red pepper. Could of used more salami, however the massive amount of cheese made up for it. Nice small intimate place with great service. Both the server (bartender) and the chef were very friendly and full of cheer, which heightened the experience!

This place rocks. I go here every week to meet friends. We used to meet at the typical places at Kent Station- the Ram, Mama's, or Cal's. None of those were fantastic, but they worked for beer. Then Airways was recommended and things just haven't been the same since. The best beer in South King County. Their Sky Hag IPA is great, pretty hoppy but definitely not bitter. Their limited edition releases, both the Loud Lady IPA and the Very Loud Lady triple IPA are SO good! My favorites the very loud lady. One of the best triple IPA's I've ever had. The food is awesome too! I've had a couple of the pizzas and they are always great- nice crispy flatbread crust, fresh veggies, and great meats. I love that they try to use food items from local places. Oh, and the service is top-notch as well! If we are ever hesitant about trying a new brew, the server always gives us a little taster. This is my favorite spot in Kent. I'm so excited for the expansion coming this summer (the outdoor seating will be so nice!) but also slightly worried that everyone will discover this little secret place. Do yourself a favor and come here next time you head out to Kent Station- you will NOT regret it!

This review is based on service alone; unfortunately can't give a very good review for this restaurant since my family wasn't even able to get in the door!! Showed up about 20 minutes before 10 o'clock, 10 being when they close, and were told that they had already done last call and closed the kitchen. Along with that, she was not very polite when conveying this information. I understand closing early if business flow is low, but there were still quite a few people in there. Needless to say, if service is bad before we even order, we are disinclined to return.

I love visiting breweries... breweries that are pubs with food are even better! Unfortunately many of these places fail epicly in the food category... not the case with Airways! Beer was excellent, this I knew already. I was a bit bummed they were out of their chocolate stout but I will just need to visit again so it's ok :) So the food... I really though it was great. Our pretzel was tasty, with just the right softness to crusty ratio, the beer cheese dip was also good. We also got the hummus with flat bread, which wasn't worth writing home about but was good. We had a hard time deciding between a sandwich and pizza.. finally deciding on pizza. Our choice of the ham apple pizza was a great one! I love the crunchy crust and the ham and apple was an awesome idea! The waitress was slightly scattered but very nice... the cook was a cool dude and we enjoyed conversing with him about other WA breweries etc. All in all a very enjoyable time with good beer, good service and good food. Stop in!

Could not accommodate a large party after work. We were probably gonna go thru a lot of beer and food, but basically we all just got up and left. Not going back anytime soon.

My friends and I shared the following menu items: Pretzel & Stoneground Mustard, Hummus & Pita, Artichoke Pesto Pizza, Caprese Panini, and Caesar Salad. Whoever cooks in the kitchen obviously knows what great food tastes like. They also know how to present food too. I thought this place was just about beer but they exceeded my expectations on food. I like fruity drinks so I had the Spire Dark Cider. Excellent suggestion from my server. Service was great! Jessica was always checking up on us. The gentleman who greeted us when we walked in made sure we were doing okay as well. Atmosphere: It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall in need of insulation. It was really loud in there. A table of 10+ inebriated guys were the loudest ones in the place. They were screaming everything they said. I'm assuming they're regulars who meet every Friday night after work. The middle class 40-year old working man needs a break from work, the wife, and kids. This place is like Homer to Moe's Tavern for them. My friends and I laughed hilariously when a muffin-top drunk chick was parading herself around. It was funny and gross at the same time.

The food is what pushed me over to four stars here. I had an IPA from a guest brewery here. I think the brewery was called Two. Steve had their pilsner which was ok. He got a sample of two of their beers mixed together called the Dirty Hag. It was a mix from their Sky Hag IPA and their chocolate stout. It was very different and did not taste bad at all. We ordered one of their paninis. It was a vegetarian panini with vegetarian sausage. The sausage kind of had an apple taste to it which went excellent with the sandwich over all! The sausage came from a company called Fieldroast which is in the Seattle area and can be bought in select stores in the metro area. The sandwich (great side salad too!) was awesome and that alone makes it worth coming back to this friendly little bistro in the historic area of Kent.

WOW I was happily surprised with the beer and the food! Not all brew pubs are made the same and they seem to have a good feel for doing it right! The only downside is the bathrooms on the second floor with the very narrow stair steps to get up and down. Kind of a dangerous trip if you have had the delicious craft brew. The staff are nice and the pub is relatively comfortable, its kind of tucked into old Kent in a brick and mortar building so the theme fits the beer and food. Worth checking it out for a nice meal and brew

Went for dinner last night, and was so impressed. The selection of beer was huge, not only what they are currently making but many others from around the area, almost all of them on tap too. The food was great. We had a couple of their pizzas and a sandwich. The flat bread is some of the best I've ever had and its all light and delicious, easy to eat the whole thing. We got a growler of their IPA to take home so will most definitely be back to try more beers!

This is an awesome beer bar where you would least expect it. Kent, despite taking its name in honor of the center of the English hop-growing world back when Kent Washington was shaping up as the hop-growing capitol of the new world, has never really been known as a microbrew mecca. But Airways is fully legit. The beers are good, and the bistro is very cool. You pull in to a little parking lot shared by an odd-looking (and cool-looking) little bookstore. It kinda looks like offices from the outside, and in fact many of their neighbors in the building actually are boring white-collar offices. Around the corner from the front of the building is the door, and you walk in to half a dozen tables, a couple benches, and some stools at the bar. It's all nicely laid out; it's a proper casual bistro, not just a tasting room. The staff are super friendly, and evidently this is a place they also hang out at themselves when they're not working. That certainly speaks well of it. There are a couple chalkboards listing the dozen beers they offer. They reserve a few faucets for themselves, and the rest they dedicate to smaller, usually newer WA breweries. They're clearly interested in what other brewers are doing. They're essentially the Naked City of the South Sound. The menu is nice--lots of flatbread pizzas, a few sandwiches, and a few apps. We had two different flatbreads with field roast (delectable), and a pretzel. Like the pretzel, the edge of the pizza crust had an egg wash that made it crunchy and delicious. The pretzel came with intensely vinegary, sharp mustard. Awesome. I will definitely be back to this place, without even having to be here to watch a hockey game to do it. It's worth visiting on its own merits for sure.

Fantastic place to go, hidden near Kent Station, Yelp reviewers have yet to steer us wrong! With a large blackboard of drinks, good selection and unique options for non beer drinkers, we each tried a couple! We couldn't decide on food so we had the pretzel with beer cheese, bruschetta, red pepper hummus and pita and the Carciofi pizza. All of it was great and reasonably priced with great service! Definitely coming back!

My boyfriend and I are regulars at this place. I have a culinary degree, so I'm very critical when it comes to food. This being said, I have NEVER been disappointed. I am blown away every time we eat there and the staff is great. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Fantastic lunch and casual dinner restaurant. Their paninis and pizzas are top notch, made with fresh and tasty ingredients. The beer list is very interesting and changes often. Their house brews are pretty damn good as well. Great vegetarian selections as well. The brevity of the menu is the only thing I would suggest for improvement.

Pretty good craft beer. It's really small and the food was not tried. I suggest the beer only for now. make sure you don't go here with intention to have a large party as it's small and noisy. Once again, craft beer is pretty good.

I'm very happy I found this place! I've been here several times, and will definitely be coming back again and again. They have a good selection of beer, both their own concoctions and other Washington breweries. There's also wine and ciders. I've tried all of the vegetarian pannis that they offer and like them all, though the caprese is probably my favourite. The panni comes with a side salad which, to my delight, has no iceberg lettuce and is instead a spring green mix lightly coated with your choice of dressing and a bit of pepper to give it a pop. There are also several meat options so everyone in the group is happy. The service is great, very prompt and friendly. I've been searching around for a "hole-in-the-wall" gem and this place is it!

This my go to place to have lunch with my son. Love their beers and their food. The lunch pizza is a grat deal with very good pizza and a great little salad. Never been disaapointed and will continue to have lunch here at least once a month.

I love Airways! Great beer, amazing service (seriously the nicest servers I've ever met) and a delicious menu. There aren't many tables, and there wasn't a single open seat in the house when we walked in, but we were gladly offered a beer while we waited. I had the sausage pizza, Tyler had the ham and apple. Both were overloaded with savory chunks of meat and gobs of gooey cheese. The parmesan flakes are the best part, I was literally eating them right off the pizza. The portions are generous and we could have shared one, but they make delicious leftovers so we splurged. I look forward to becoming a regular here!

I like the location in downtown Kent. It's a tiny place with friendly servers and a crowd that seems to know one another. I should have known better than to order their flatbread pizza though. I'm a self-professed pizza snob and knew I wouldn't like it, but it seemed like the most appetizing thing on the menu to me. $13 for a good-sized white pizza probably worth half the price. $12 for a pizza margherita. Super greasy and salty with a hard, crunchy crust. I couldn't finish it. It's just not my kind of pizza and really not their forte. My boyfriend liked the beer though. Our server was nice but really slow. My boyfriend asked for a take out box which she awkwardly placed at the very edge of the table. And then it took her another 20 minutes to come around to our table again so we could ask her to bring our check. She seemed busy even though there weren't very many people there. Stick to the beer. Skip the food.

Airways is always guaranteed to please! They have 3 or 4 of their own beers on tap, along with about 8 other local beers and 1 local cider. They also serve Washington wine, soda, and iced tea. The food is AMAZING! The cooks, Clay and Ken, are always coming up with great new dishes. They serve flatbread pizzas, paninis, salads, and a few apps. They're always willing to customize a dish a little bit for you. The bartenders/ servers, Erin and Sarah are super attentive, informative and entertaining. It's a wonderful local bar & bistro to hang out at.

My first visit to Airways Brewing Beer & Bistro happened on a Friday afternoon. It was empty but for the employees. One other patron did enter and sit down with some paperwork and a beer. I love the look of this place with the warm wood ceiling and cool blue butcher block bar. I need to return in the evening to get the true ambiance of this place. We had some nice chit-chat with the bartender and the owner, Dione. Service was fine the entire time....kinda hard to mess up when there's no one else there. =) A fantastic beer selection of 12 taps, includes 4 Airways beers and 8 guest taps. Fermented grape juice is also available for those that like that. =) We tried the Cozy Sweater from Iron Horse Brewing and the Smoked Porter from Big Al Brewing....both great...and finished with a Sky Hag IPA for each of us...delicious! We ordered the Bacon, Tomato, and Arugula Pizza and the Black Forest Ham and Bacon Panini. Both items were amazing....compliments to the chef!

I've been an Airways beer fan for a while. Have purchased kegs for club events in the past. It's taken a while but after they started posting pictures of their food on Facebook, I had to go try the new Bistro out. The beer selection was fantastic! Not only Airways products, but also good beers from local breweries in Washington. Well done, Airways! The pizza was really, really good! I could have ordered a few more for later. The one really sad thing is the incredibly high noise level in the building. It made normal conversation very difficult and we left hoarse. I get that it's a bar, but something has to be done with the interior to soak up some of that sound. I doubt I'll return until summer if they have outdoor seating.

I really like this spot! They have a rotation of tasty beers on tap which go great with the food. Oh man, the food. They have a pizza that has vegetarian sausage - you heard me right, vegetarian sausage - that is wonderful. If you weren't told it was vegetarian, you'd honestly have a very, very, very hard time guessing. My husband and I looked at each other and asked, "Are you sure this is vegetarian?" The hummus... YUM... Sky Hag IPA - YUM. It is nice to see something in Kent that isn't part of Kent Station (not knocking Kent Station!) Just a cool place, great beer, great food, great staff. Oh yeah - it is a favorite.

Another stop on the our never ending beer tour of area tap rooms and bistros. Airways has great beer, that has already been established in previous postings. Add the bistro part of Airways and you have a can't miss spot with really good food and beer in one place. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday, the staff is really friendly and inviting. Asked if we wanted to try any of the beers on tap before ordering is always a win win in my book. Once we ordered a beer my girlfriend and I started to look at the menu, simple and easy, starters, salads, flat breads and paninis. We ordered the hummus to start, a big bowl of warmed hummus with warm pita wedges were really good. I ordered the BLACK FOREST HAM & BACON, Black forest ham, smoked bacon, honey mustard, provolone, white onion, tomato and arugula toasted in wheat bread. The part that made the whole panini come together was the honey mustard and the onions. The panini came with a side salad that is hand tossed with the dressing of your choice. To me that is taking food to that next level. Great food and great beer all in one place. A must check out place for any beer nerd!

My boyfriend and I came here for a beer brunch a couple Sundays ago, and I have literally been begging him to take me to Airways again!!! We had a fabulous time! I'm not a big fan of loud, crowded places, so this was perfect. It's a pretty small place, and if we hadn't been looking for it, we would have missed it. On the inside, it's a very casual trendy atmosphere, while maintaining a cozy feel. We tried every beer they had to offer (and there were sooooo many good ones) and fell in love with Skyhag. They offer beers from other small breweries around Washington, which was super awesome as well. The girl who was bartending/waitressing was extremely friendly and helpful! She knew a lot about the beers they offered, and we enjoyed laughing and chatting with her. Between three of us, we ordered a pizza, hummus and pita, a pannini, and pretzels with stoneground mustard. We had to take so much food home it was unbelievable! Plus, the food was good and not overpriced (BIG PLUS!). We spent at least 2 hours just enjoying good food, good company, and good beer. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I hear it does get busier on certain days of the week and after 5pm on weekdays (obviously), but I cannot wait to come here again.

Great! Came in late during Cornucopia days very hungry. Pretzel was awesome, I still have beer cheese on my shirt. The pizza was very good and I ate the leftovers. Bartender went out of her way to make a beer free drink for my friend.

Very friendly service! Their beer is great and they also gave a good selection of local Washington brews! Gotta give it up to Airways for supporting the locals! We tried all of their beers and I have to say that they were all very impressive. The staff were super friendly and I loved how they carried many brochures and newspapers about craft brew! It made us decide to plan a trip to Oregon just for beer! How awesome! I will definitely be back to try the pizza so stay tuned for a food review! P.S. I recently tried their tap house just off West Valley Hwy and also received great, friendly service there. They had one other beer of their own that they didn't have at the pub, a couple other local brews and even a cider! It's kind of hidden in the business complex but just follow the building numbers and you'll find it!

Stopped into this gem after arriving into Seattle for vacation. Been to their smaller tap room before, this is a nice step up. Great selection of beers from there own collection as well a several outstanding guest brews. Ordered a couple of pizzas, very nice. This place isn't quite yet a full on "Bistro" but the beers are fantastic, service is off the charts and nice atmosphere. Great happy hour spot.

Fantastic new bistro serving beer and food to the 21+ year old crowd. Local beer from Airways Brewing Company and others, plus wine too! Pizzas, paninis, small bites, and sweets. Proclaimed as a "hot spot" in Kent by the Kent Mayor, Suzette Cooke!

Stopped in for a beer and a nosh the other night. I wish it had been slightly warmer so we could have sat outside on their patio but the bar was just as fun. The nice bar tender somehow heard our pint orders over the crowd and had them to us quickly. We also had a pretzel which was filling and quite tasty. We will definitely be back because they are VEGAN FRIENDLY! YAY! Field roast on the menu! Woot!

Tavern location for the Airways Brewing Company. Strange location for a great idea! Not high on ambiance, but extremely high on craft beer selection including several brewed down the road at their own brewery. Oh yeah, the food is pretty good too. We have tried most of the flat bread pizza entrees. Pretty darn good. I keep find myself coming up with reasons to return. Sky Hag IPA rocks! Wish this place was bigger.

Wonderful food and fantastic beer. We had a yummy pretzel, I had a made to order pizza and my boyfriend had the apple and ham pizza, both were great. Would be getting 5 stars, but this place lacks in the ambiance factor. Other than that, great prices and delicious food, we'll be back :)

Amanda scored the first on this, damn!!! Just opened about a week ago, nice little place south of Kent Station, serving their own brews(see my Airways review), as well as a few guest beers. Also food and wine. The beer is good, the setup is interesting to say the least, professional offices above and around it, rest room upstairs next to offices. Food seemed OK, not great, but not bad. Definitely a spot worth checking out. 3 stars equals A-OK, and this place is A-OK!

Great place! They serve their own beer made down the street at their place. Not only that! They only serve other local made beer! None of that cheap Bud Light or Coors. Even the wine is locally made. The food is great. Personally not too concerned about the ambiance. The great and refreshingly original beer selection is enough. Staff was friendly and helpful.

excellent pub!!! my husband always finds top of the line beer and they always have a cider for me. i especially like that they offer an 8oz glass in addition to pint. the menu is limited but hubby really enjoys it. the flatbread pizzas are especially good. i would add another star if they served anything this gluten-free, dairy-free vegetarian could eat besides a side salad.

  • Shawn H.

Good selection of beer and Tieton cider at reasonable prices. The flat bread pizza was good and the black forest ham "panini" was decent. The prices for the food were high though. The sandwich was simply a ham sandwich on plain old wheat bread and white onions pressed in a panini grill for $11. The flat bread was a better choice but still $17 and it was by no means huge. The service was very good and the location was clean so that does help.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
