I like this place, it's not amazing or fancy but not bad either for a casual meal. They got a wide variety of Asian food such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese. The service here is friendly but I think it could be better. The owner lady was laughing and talking pretty loud with her coworkers. Which I think it was a little unprofessional because people were dining. Also when she asked us if we were ready to order (we weren't) and literally right after, another waitress came and asked the same question. The food is better than average compared to some Chinese restaurants, at least for the entrées. But I wish they would give you more rice than just a tiny little bowl. Sometimes I feel like they could use more sauce on their food cuz when I got Thai basil stir fry it tasted a little dry and powdery. I also tried their Mongolian beef and it was good, their fried ice creams are pretty good as well I recommend! Other than that, I think this place is good for a fast meal kind of thing and maybe good for groups too. Their floor bothers me though cuz you can really hear people's footsteps haha. Would probably come back once awhile!

Service was horrifically slow, they never checked on us, and we had to hunt someone down for our check. On top of that, our crab wontons we ordered were never brought to our table. There were also screaming toddlers that nobody tried to quiet down. Had high hopes for this place, but there's much better out there.

They have some unusual dishes here. I haven't tried many of them yet but the cherry blossom was spectacular. I was satisfied with a single dish. Not normal for sushi. The restaurant was visually also quite appealing with a good feeling of space and very good service. Easy parking rounds out the feature. C u there!

Great food and tea. My friend had Sushi and I had Teriyaki chicken. Enjoyed this place. I would recommend it to Sushi and Teriyaki lovers.

Ikiiki is average, and that's about it. Reasonably priced but sadly not the greatest quality of food. What I do love is the plethora of options you have from the menu - sushi/chinese/thai.... all at your disposal. Spicy tuna roll is delicious - and the only thing I'll order. I wasn't a huge fan of the other things I tried (gyoza, fried rice, sea turtle roll, etc). What was most disappointing was not the food, but the service. Very slow, lacking attention to their customers.

Love this place! The sushi rolls are delicious and they have a great priced happy hour! Definitely worth a stop in!

We were up in this part of town doing some house-hunting and decided to go here for dinner. The fish (we had nigiri and rolls) was very fresh, the rice was done well, and the presentation was nice. The house sake is a little on the "meh" side of the tracks, but it's better than no sake. Service was not rushed, but your server wasn't there to chat us up, just get the order and give it to the chef. Friendly, but not personable.

I was definitely NOT expecting to get such tasty and fresh sushi here. Right off of 522 you can't miss it with it's huge Ikiiki sign seen from two-ish blocks away. Came here with the boyfriend and just wanted a quiet place to chat and spend some time together. We definitely got that. There were two or three other groups on the Sushi Bar/Cocktail part of the establishment and the waitress was quick to give us a table and menu's. I loved the painted walls inside and the decor was very soothing. It was nice to see the chefs making the sushi too. ONE STAR is deducted only for the prices. I wish there were more options to combine sashimi/nigiri that weren't $26 for many pieces or $5 for two. I want something in between!!!! Our food came out within 15 minutes (apparently the kitchen was busier than the sushi chefs). I got the Tuna Sashimi and Spicy Tuna Crunchy Roll. (I can always tell a fantastic sushi joint by the freshness of the Tuna. It was so tender, virtually no bite and the taste was spot-on fresh. I could have eaten 10 pieces of the sashimi!!!!! My boyfriend got the california roll; (he doesn't like raw seafood) and that was very tasty as well. We continued chatting after our bill arrived and weren't the least bit rushed to leave even though it was approaching closing time. I will return here to taste more of the menu! I'm hooked!

I ate here about a month ago and it was so disappointing I'm still thinking about it. The pad thai was unrecognizable and swimming in sticky, sweet, brown sauce. Asian food is so plentiful and good around the region, I'm frankly surprised this place stays in business.

I had some time to sit down and enjoy your lunch by myself. I pulled up my yelp look and see what was nearby and was recommended. Japanese cuisine sounded good to me so I tried this location. I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is delightful, the service is so good, and best of all - the food is delicious!

Worth 4+ stars. Very good variety and portions (at least of the Mongolian Beef). Very good food.

My wife and I were looking for a good place to eat after burning up a few calories riding from Logboom to Marymoor Park. Saw Ikiiki on the way back, so we decided to give it a shot. Service was great! Fantastic sushi selection. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Definitely better than your chain Sushi restaurants. We also ordered a Beef Curry Udon, the noodles were good, but the curry flavor was not deep enough, especially in the beef. Prices are on par and not expensive. Definitely worth dropping by more than once.

I love this place. Excellent food. I never get the sushi- but my sushi fan friends do and love it. I usually get a bento box, or pile on the appetizers. They get busy and often just the owners are waiting tables and cooking, so be patient. They work hard. There is a bar in back, that often fills up with locals. I watched the Super Bowl in the bar- ate japanese food the whole time.

I think its the best sushi roll I ever had. Scallops, Salmon and a full lemon piece on top. I would absolutely make the trip there as much as I could afford.

Went there for dinner after reading some Yelp reviews and having a craving for sushi. Decided to try it out, especially after accidentally stumbling upon a $5 off coupon on their website when you order $30+ of food (don't worry, I went with 2 friends...I am not THAT gluttonous). Anyway, got there around 7:30. There were a couple people at the sushi bar, and then a couple eating dinner in one of the booths. Space is very large. Would seem more festive if there were more people (and of course, more people = good restaurant...usually...) Ordered just ordered 2 traditional rolls (philly roll and shrimp tempura roll). Philly roll was listed on the menu as using smoked salmon. Was not a fan of how that sounded so requested regular salmon on my roll, which was granted w/out any issues. Rolls themselves were nothing spectacular. I am by no means a sushi connoisseur, but I've had good sushi (great presentation, melts in your mouth), and I've had bad sushi (Genki...ooh, burrrn). This was somewhere in between. Only 6 pieces per roll, at nearly $6 per roll, so not the best bang for your buck. Presentation was not bad though, so it looked delicious once it came to the table. Oh, another thing (which may deter some hardcore sushi eaters). This appears to be Chinese-owned (they gave a Chinese soup spoon with the miso soup!...Japanese party foul). Oh well, not a huge deal for me, just interesting. At least the miso was complimentary. A positive was the $3.75 draft of Mac 'n Jack. Would I go back? Maybe. If I'm in a bind.

Been there on the way to or from Ostroms Pharmacy. Super yummy sushi.

  • Jen B.

On the outside it looks like a total dump. The inside is much different. The inside was very nice and almost empty on a Thursday at 7pm. We got a few rolls and some Chinese food. It was all much better than I expected. To sum it up I rate this place as "pleasantly surprised".

    (4)
  • Kenneth B.

Sushi was not that great. My order was messed up (they originally dropped off the wrong dish, although they did correct the issue). Service was unprofessional, employees were goofing around in the dining area. The bar tender kept coming back to flirt with one of the sushi chefs.

  • Amy L.

OK Maybe I should have stuck to sushi? Based on my lunch I would give it one star but they seem to have a lot to offer and people seem to like the sushi. I definitely won't be back though. Price: $6 seems almost too cheap for me. $6 lunch combos scare me and make me wish they spent more money on their food :P Pot stickers: hard to go wrong with deep fried pork dumplings. The 2 pot stickers and the brown rice saved me from having to go find something else for lunch. "Spicy" kung pao chicken: OK admittedly I have a high tolerance for spice but there was absolutely no discernible spiciness in this dish. It was chicken, zucchini, and peanuts stir fried with soy sauce. I did not finish even half, it had a weird taste on top of the salt. Hot & sour soup: Is this vegetarian? Where is the "hot" part? The broth was more clear than chicken broth, just a little bit of weird brownness like dishwater. No mushrooms made it in to my cup, just some tofu and bamboo in some weird watery vinegar broth. Sad.

Was craving for some sushi and I wanted to try something new so I came to ikiiki to try them. I had cherry blossom and sunshine for to go after seeing pictures and reviews. It's delicious. its not crowded in the afternoon when i came in but i shall try to come at other times to see if that's the same case. I can't wait to come back again to try their other stuffs.

Love this place! Excellent customer service. Very nice! Love the tuna and salmon rolls! Always so fresh!

If you have been disappointed in the past, give ikiiki another try, the food is improving. My last 3 meals have vey tasty. I was in the mood for a martini, I could have dived into the glass as it was a very big drink, took me 2 hrs to finish. Now I know why the bar is so busy. Service was not bad but there is room for improvement esp. last sat when they were busy.

I haven't been to every Asian restaurant in the Seattle area, but in the 9 years I've lived here this one is my favorite. Everyone I've sent here has said the same thing! Have never had a bad experience or meal here. In fact every time has been excellent! Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!

  • Molly O.

Amazing food for good prices. It's rare to find this good of sushi for so cheap! Love it.

  • Cliff O.

Wow, I really enjoy sushi and there are many good to average places around town. I stopped here in the mid afternoon. The place was empty and I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I wrong! I ordered the lunch sushi combo with 5 pieces of nigiri and a choice of one of 5 rolls (I chose salmon). The plate was served after a few minutes. Omg, the salmon pieces in the roll were huge! Not only that but the fish draped over and practically around the rice on the nigiri pieces. A touch of green onion on one and a pinch of some other kind of garnish (fried onion pieces?) on another made for a really simple and nice presentation. The green tea was not the typical powdered stuff but the darker brown (Genmaicha?) version of Japanese tea. If I had one complaint I found the rice to be just slightly dry to my taste but I'm used to sushiland kinds of places so I'm not going to judge on that. Anyway, overall quite amazing for a $12 lunch, I was impressed!

  • Magnus S.

The sushi is not the best in to be had in the Seattle Area, but to be fair the bar is set pretty high as we have some of the best sushi in the country around here. However, the sushi is good, they have a pretty big selection, and the prices are right. On top of that the drinks are inexpensive and Strong. Yeah, that's Strong with a capital S.

  • Alea S.

Love this place! I only wish they delivered! The sushi is always fresh and good and the Chinese food is flavorful and affordable! Their lunch specials are an amazing deal with SO much food for under 8 bucks! The service is always good and the ambiance is nice and warm and intimate feeling. My favorite place to eat out in Kenmore!

Tastey, great service. Try the 'root beer float' from the special drink menu, honey prawns n spider roll!

I have eaten at Ikiiki about 6 times since they opened a year ago. The food is always delicious and portions are generous. However, on my last visit on a Friday night, the service was very slow. In fact, a table of 8 who came to celebrate a birthday, got up and left. After being seated, not a busboy or waiter approached their table for at least 20 minutes. Our experience wasn't quite as bad but not much better. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of water, another 10 min to take our order, another 20 to get our appetizer, and another 20 to get our food. Clearly, they are understaffed, both in the kitchen and at the front of the house. The waitress did not offer tea or ask if we wanted cocktails. The only reason we stayed was the food but even then, waiting 40 minutes for an appetizer is way too long. It will be quite a while before I go back.

  • David H.

Absolutely excellent! I've been there for lunch multiple times. I've tried most of the lunch specials and the rolls. Everything I've had has been great. The prices are unbelievable considering the high quality of the food. By far the best sushi in the area!

  • Monica K.

love the sushi and tempura here.

  • Mrs. A.

The place is clean and the staff is very nice. We ordered sushi and tempura. The tempura was very good. The sushi was very mediocre. I will not eat here again for sushi but maybe other items. The portions are generous and the prices aren't bad.

    (3)
  • Andrea D.

Yummy. I have been back twice, back bean chow foon and mu shu is awesome. Also love the hot & sour soup. Sushi is also very generous and fresh. Staff is friendly and it is very clean.

A group of ten of us went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was clean and inviting. However, I have to say, we had horrendous service. We were there for almost an hour and I still hadn't received my food. I ended up having to get it to go because we only had an hour for lunch. I also found it strange that I was the last to receive my food and I ordered sushi. The food was sporadically served and we did not get to eat together. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with the service! Especially because we were the only people in the restaurant despite another group of two! With that said, when I finally was able to try my food, I have to say it was absolutely delicious. If the sushi had not been as good as it was, I can honestly say that I would never return to this place.

  • kevin s.

The food here is solid. It doesn't stand out as anything special, but it tastes fine and is inexpensive. The places specializes in sushi. It also serves Americanized Chinese for those people that aren't into sushi. This mixing of Japanese and Chinese cuisines is annoying (pick one and get good at it), but that is just a small personal gripe. The decor is very sparse. The dining room is a large open room. Basically nobody comes here because of the interior decorating.

  • Mae T.

My boyfriend and I have driven by this restaurant plenty of times and after all the curiosity and reading the reviews we finally decided to try it out. I have to say, the sushi was better than I expected. We had the Volcano and Sunshine rolls and they were delicious. Would definitely come back to try more sushi and also to try their Chinese food. Another comment I'd like to make was their customer service. Everyone there was incredibly nice and they did a great job at making sure we were ok and the goodbye as we were leaving was very nice as well.

  • Khianna H.

I just ordered takeout from this place. The cherry blossom roll was presented nicely even in the box, and the sauce came on the side. It tastes fine, but isn't really special other than how it's presented. The sauce is good though. Spicy and flavorful. The spicy tuna crunchy roll wildy varied in portion size--pieces too big to take in one go mixed in with pieces so thin, they fell apart when I picked them up. But it has good flavor and seems fresh, with crisp cucumber. One of the pieces was laid down on top of the wasabi. I don't mind spiciness, but that was a bit careless. I also wasn't given chopsticks, so I'm eating with a plastic fork that my grandma had in her car. The food I had was fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

  • Jeff P.

The "Cherry Blossom" sushi plate is incredible. Even my 6 year old grandson gobbled it up! Difficult to get to going north - going south it's easy. Yes the service is (or at least can be) slow but it's worth the wait.

    (5)
  • Nicole H.

Pretty decent sushi and happy hour! Must try the cherry blossom and ocean city rolls. Keep going back.

  • Angela C.

Took my phone order (which I've been ordering every week for YEARS!) waited till I got there to pick it up and told me they won't make that item for lunch anymore so they didn't make it. Not sure if they have changed managers but I'm extremely disappointed at the service. Explaining it before I drove there would have been much appreciated. I won't be going back.

I would give 2 1/2 stars if that were possible. We went here for our first time a few days ago for my son's birthday dinner, at his request. Some friends had said that Ikiiki had great food at great prices, so we did go in with high expectations. Some of the food was really good, a lot of it was so-so. Egg rolls were meh, dragon roll was tasty, miso soup was okay, garlic chicken wings were good. The rest of our food was okay, (mostly sushi rolls), and my older son's chicken teriyaki was almost inedible and made him feel ill afterwards. It also took forever to come out; we were done with the rest of our meal before the teriyaki came out of the kitchen. The service was pretty okay. There was zero acknowledgement that it was our son's birthday (which we mentioned) or any sort of apology/compensation for the slow food service.

First time eating there and will be back! The cherry blossom was out of this world! Not a long wait and our server was friendly.

Great sushi and sashimi. Top notch fish. Prices are extremely steep given the area and the service is poor. They have a free coupon on their website! We picked Ikiiki based on the great reviews and proximity to kenmore lanes. Don't be intimated by the description of them as a Japanese/Chinese/Thai restaurant. They have some serious sushi here. We had the garlic wings, which were perfectly cooked but needed some spicy dipping sauce or something. The rolls were great! Ocean City was a great tempura roll stuffed with fresh fish. But the portion was very small. The Ikiiki roll had interesting sweet mango in it, very fresh and tasty. My friend's sashimi plate was amazing! The butterfish just melted in your mouth. The problem is that it was $28!?! You can get equal quality and quantity in Seattle for $20-$25 easily. The decor is strangely "modern", and there are large mural's on both walls. There is just a lot going on in here. The service here is really spotty. We had to flag the bartender down so he could get our waitress. Then getting her back to reorder was impossible. We eventually gave up and decided to get our fill somewhere else. She did have no problem taking our coupon, and explained that if we wanted happy hour wings we couldn't use it and let us order the full portion instead. She also was willing to split our check 5 ways.

Just moved here and looking for a good sushi place (for my wife). This place is top notch when it comes to the food although the cost is slightly high. Wife has had several different sushi items and loves them all. very fresh and top quality. They have the slightly unusual ones like Uni. The Chinese dishes are also very good - I don't do sushi. Great flavor and very fresh. Definitely our new favorite for this style of food - sorry Otto Sushi.

It was a mistake trying this place. Drove by it many times till today decided to try it. Lesson learned stay away from places claiming they can cook multi ethnic cuisines. Had the egg rolls nothing special. House chow mien was sweet and greasy. They forgot my philly rolls. Waitress remembered that she forgot my sushi while dropping the check. Maybe 2 stars for service she was trying.

    (1)
  • Alex T.

Not the greatest sushi I've ever had, but it hit the spot in a pinch, and did so in a relatively inexpensive way. Weird 80's music. There were only two tables for lunch but I had to wait for a very, very long time for my server to show up with the check.

  • Tatyana S.

First time here and I was very impressed! Always looked like a dive from the outside driving by but after reading some Yelp reviews we decided to give it a try! Pros *Clean and quiet (went on a Sunday at 7pm) *waitress was attentive *menu had wide variety of options (sushi for me and Chinese for my husband) *my sushi was fresh Cons *general Tso chicken had too much breading and not enough chicken. Also not as spicy as my husband wanted. *atmosphere was a bit dull

    (3)
  • Jason B.

The beauty of this place for me is the location location location. Less than 5 minutes from home so after the gym their hand roles or just some plane sashimi always hits the spot. Oh and the sweet and sour chicken is also yummy.

  • Ryan P.

I am always wary of places that claim to serve Sushi, Chinese, and Thai all under one roof. I prefer a more focused menu with a specialized chef. That said, Ikiiki was not bad! I can't speak for the Chinese or Thai parts of the menu, but I hit the sushi side of the menu pretty hard. I had one of the Sushi meals and then shared a Spicy Tuna Crunch roll with a friend. The roll was tasty. The sushi was decent- fresh but a bit sloppy on the preparation. For the price though, not too bad. I would go back if I was in the area again and needing a cheap sushi fix.

Decided to try this place out last night! Arrived with my friend around 6:45 pm on a Saturday. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and has an authentic feel! There were only a few other parties in at the time. Ordered the Ikiiki roll. My friend ordered a dragon roll and another (can't remember the name). We were starving so while the wait was hard, the food quality was worth it! The Ikiiki roll has mango & avocado in the center with salmon & a mango sauce on top. Good portions for the price (~ $11/$12) Our only complaint was that the soy sauce they use is super salty - saltier than normal. Luckily my roll was sweet so it balanced it out a bit. Our server was nice but she only came to our table to take our order and serve our food. We had to wave her down to pay. Definitely would go back to try out different dishes.

Ive driven past this place my whole life without a thought about it other than its architecture. But am so very glad I decided to stop by! Parking is a bit limited when I came by on a thursday night around 7 parking lot was full! Everyone was in the bar. So I parked in a spot belonging to a closed business so no problems there. Coming in it has a very nice open feeling. Very professional staff. I do see what other yelpers mean by it doesnt seem that busy there werr only two other people in the main restaurant, but that's never a problem for me! We ordered a few drinks and our food. Drinks were a bit strong but I'd never complain about that! Haha. Food was beautiful! I was worried we would order and only get a few pieces of roll but the menu reassured me with its many vibrant pictures of what you get. Plus the price is perfect! I was NOT let down and will be back shortly! I suggest the cherry blossom roll. There are some pictures from other yelpers of the cherry blossom and it looks much better in person!

Great place for sushi in the Kenmore area! Yay now that we've discovered this place, we don't have to go all the way to downtown Seattle to get our sushi fix.

  • F G.

Our opinion is that four stars are appropriate for the food quality, preparation, and presentation. Our experience included vegetable wrap, sushi, tempura, and vegetables. Of note, the tempura was delicate and not greasy. Our seating area was clean and tidy. Two stars for the attention of the wait staff. Patrons are at the mercy of the house. We were disappointed that both wait staff were more interested in interacting with their electronic devices than insuring our lunch experience was complete. I suggest that such activities be conducted out of site of the dinning room and that at least one wait staff be visible and available to patrons. Based on posted reviews on Yelp, we made Ikiiki our lunch destination on Saturday, 21 June, 2:30 PM. There were many events happening in Seattle on this day so I was not too surprised to find the dinning room empty. We would rate our overall experience as Three Yelp Stars and will not likely visit again.

Great place for happy hour. The Vegas rolls and the soft-shell crab mango salad roll are really good. Off the happy hour menu the Cherry Blossom roll is really good too, if you like raw fish. It has like a Hawaiian poke sauce taste. Great and friendly staff. The happy hour is only Monday to Friday 3-6. If you like a relaxing place. You should check this place out. They also play 80s music and 90s R&B. I would go here again.

We love this place. Good value, delicious food, great service and the place is rocking. The music isn't too loud and the drinks are strong.

Living in Kenmore does not present many dining options, but Ikiiki hits the spot on most nights. Their sushi is tasty and fresh for the price. Not the best, but that it not what I am paying for. The staff is always very courteous and gets our food to us quickly. I love that it is a food Japanese menu with seaweed & cucumber salad, udon noodle soups, and other favorites. Plus, the whole dining room is clean, spacious, and painted as a marine world (which our son loves). We are very happy to have this place so close to home!

  • Missy R.

We were huge Chinois fans and we really enjoyed the new owners... The rolls were yummy & appetizers were a fan of my daughters (miso soup and gyoza). I think they are working out their kinks, only been open one month. Everyone was really nice and service was decent. It is an average sushi place and close to us. We will be back monthly!

    (4)
  • Peter J.

Good, better then average sushi, Ping the waitress is very friendly that being said she is also the only waitress most of the time. Rolls are good never fish tasting. If it was my restraint I would probably make the rolls slightly smaller and charge a little less but they are still good even if they're a little big.

Stopped by after work tonight as I've been passing by the past few weeks and so glad I did. I had the Vegas roll and the Spicy Tuna roll and they were both excellent. Between the 2 orders and edamame I was full and happy. Sat at the bar and talked with the chef a bit, very nice guy and quick service.

  • Rose B.

I quite liked my sushi here. It was all really good tasting and everything I needed. I got my basic mix (salmon sashimi, spicy tuna, tuna roll). I really liked their miso soup as well. There were a lot of good sounding rolls on the menu. Service was a little pokey considering that I was one of two people there eating. They seemed to be in a midday lull. I would come back here again!!

This place is great for when your craving good Americanized asian food and you don't want to drive all the way down to the International District. Its also great hangover food ;). It looks very unassuming from the outside, a little dumpy even but don't judge a book by its cover. I've been here many times and have left happy and satisfied. They have great fried rice and noodle dishes. The house fried rice is delicious. The sushi always comes out fresh and the service is spectacular. Ikiiki has a wonderful happy hour, there's is a lot of things to choose from for good deals. The calamari is good and I love the sashimi salad. Definitely worth the visit if your in the Kenmore area.

  • Debra N.

We went here for the first time the other day and I will never go back. The food was mediocre at best but what really ruined it for me was the music that was playing. They had horrible 90s music playing really loudly and it was a total distraction. Some people may think it's weird that I have such a strong opinion about the music, but let me tell you my husband and I both noticed how bad it was and it definitely took away from the meal. Would have much prefered calm, quiet Asian-sounding music.

Had a good meal here. We had a little bit of everything on the menu and were very satisfied with the dishes. Dishes were tasty and good portions. Sushi was nice and since we ordered a bit of everything, we had a chance to try different things. Service was nice as well. My only problem was that not all dishes came out at the same time. So by the time the last dish was served, we were full. Otherwise we had no issues and definitely coming back.

Good sushi in Kenmore, good service, nice people. I'm becoming a regular. Eaten there probably 8 times in last year. Hope it succeeds because they rarely seem very busy, but they do a brisk take-out business and have a regular back bar clientele. I have to admit I'm prejudiced because the location works very well for me. It's great to have a good Sushi place near my home and I hope the neighborhood supports it. Nothing flashy, just good quality food and decent prices. We've tried pretty much all the basics - edamame, gyoza, udon soup, several types of nigiri sushi, california rolls, a few other rolls etc. All good. Especially like their Dragon Roll and Cherry Blossom rolls. We've even had decent cocktails there. Check it out and check out their website for a coupon deal too.

My fiancé and I were looking for some delicious sushi and we found it! Not only was the food delicious the service was so nice. When we came to get our take out order our order had been incorrectly written down. It wasn't a big deal for us and they gave us the egg rolls they thought we ordered on the house. We will definitely go back again! Get the dragon roll it was so delicious

This is high quality Chinese food that is a blast to eat. My only real problem is the food is expensive. Despite this, it is worth it. The place is clean and the workers were nice. Good place overall.

My husband and I have eaten here twice but they favorite people we were there for 20 minutes and a group of three came in and they were served before us. Also my husband and I have gotten really bad stomach pain and a small bit of food poisoning from them. The place is never full and this could all be the reason why and for the amount of food and drinks you get it is way to over priced. But one last thing from what my husband and I have experienced is they are NOT child friendly!

Ikiiki's new Queen Anne location is an unfortunate disappointment. It replaced Chinois, an old neighborhood favorite that while still fairly busy, the menu and decor was looking and feeling very tired and in need of a good deep cleaning. So we were very disappointed to see Ikiiki simply moved in to the same old, worn space with only a new name on the old faded awning out front and newly printed menus, but no change to the old worn interior. The food was OK but really just pretty mediocre semi-authentic Asian fare and nothing special in our view. Queen Anne is in need of good quality, professionally run restaurants our neighborhood families can count on, so a big disappointment for us overall and really no reason to go back.

Does not suck. Ikiili is one of the best places in the area. Service is a little slow.

Delicious! The spicy mango sauce with the mango salad rolls blew my mind. I put it on everything. Yum!

People can be so critical. Great prices, great sushi. Service was excellent and was a great option for the area. Tempura was so good and the Katsu was tasty. BTW, big fan of the hand rolls now, awesome.

My friends and I went here last night for sushi. I must admit finding the front door to enter this place was a little difficult. The prices are average, the service is good and the sushi is both fresh and tasty. The favorite at our table was the Geisha roll. We also ordered the Cherry Blossom, Volcano and Tuna Salad rolls. The Tuna Salad roll was not a hit, and they took it off our bill. I am not sure if it was the sauce or the piece of lettuce inside but it was not for us. The Tuna Poke is the best I have had anywhere, as well as the mango mochi ice cream. The mango mochi had a citrus kick to it and it was delicious.

It's nice to have a good place to go that's close by. Went with a big group, everyone liked what they had. I got the California roll & thought it was outstanding. The staff was friendly and attentive, prices were really low for great, fresh food. Can't give it five stars due to ambience issues; it's a funky place, but not in a cool way. You'd have to see for yourself and see what you think.

I don't know what it is with restaurants that serve such delicious food hide themselves in the oddest places. This restaurant not only has great service but the food is incredible. I don't know how many times I have passed this place going to and from work and never bothered to drop in until tonight. My wife and I started with an appetizer Sunomono and got both shrimp and octopus and shared each between the two. Then our main dishes we got Cherry Blossom, Golden Dragon Roll and Ikiiki. Unbelievably all three rolls we amazingly delicious. Our favorite out of the 3 was the Cherry Blossom which was served with very fresh salmon and tuna along with the perfect ripeness of advocado dressed in poke sauce. My wife gives this dinner "nom, nom, nom, nom" out of 5 "nom"......she enjoyed her dinner most definitely! I am very sure we will be coming back for dinner again soon. Worth every dollar for great food!

Bait!! That's what some people call sushi, but not me!! Fresh ocean flavor melting in your mouth and Ikiiki provided just that. A bit of a somewhat difference on the normal spicy tuna rolls, more variety than some places - seaweed salad - YUM and presentation was over the top!! Service was great and even though there was just 3 of us, they were very accommodating and wonderful. Definitely an A+++

What a great find for this part of town. Our friends live nearby and invited us to join them for sushi and Thai food. I didn't know what to expect, but I was really surprised by the variety of food here. They have a full selection of sushi served sashimi, nigiri, sushi or rolls. We opted for a bunch of rolls and all were quite tasty. The caterpillar roll was enormous and the unagi was fresh and delicious. The salt and pepper squid and prawns are really good and were even better with a few cold beers. Even the phad Thai here was delicious. Big, plump tiger prawns and plenty of them. Portions here are family style and meant for sharing. The waitstaff and service were awesome.

Stopped by this place on the way to go bowl at Kenmore Lanes, and I'm glad we did. I often stray away from places that serve sushi and thai and chinese etc. as that usually means the quality of everything goes downhill quite a bit. I was recovering from oral surgery and kinda worried about what I could eat. Gyoza was nothing special, but not bad, essentially any gyoza you get anywhere. My boyfriend loved his geisha roll, and the ikiiki roll was really yummy (though the mango sauce and smoked salmon are strong enough to drown out whatever else was inside it) Seattle fried rice has lettuce in it, which sounds horrible but totally worked, we loved it! All in all we will be back, as this place is super convenient and not even remotely crowded.

One of the worst restaurants we have eaten at. We tried it twice, mostly sushi, and were afraid afterwards that we might get sick. We didn't feel like the fish was close to being fresh and felt like the food was below restaurant quality.

Extensive menu with sushi, Chinese, and other Asian dishes. Great prices. Go during happy hour and order off the long appetizer list. I've literally eaten here with a group of 6 adults, stuffed ourselves, and gotten out of there for less than $100. Poke salad is my favorite.

Delicious staff, uncrowded room [maybe not a good sign on a Saturday night], and helpful staff made this a pleasant visit. We happened upon this place and had to search a bit for the front door, but are glad we did. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a gesture to an open table. Service was pleasant and efficient, and the menu was particularly effective. Large clear color photos illustrate most of the dishes, and each item included a full list of ingredients, which is very handy for those of us with food allergies. We did have to ask about several unfamiliar terms; staffers were glad to explain. The food arrived fairly quickly. We had the Spider Roll and the Bothell Roll; both delicious and quickly gobbled up. Fresh ingredients, attractively presented. Love that simple but elegant Japanese style! We'll be back!

I was tempted to give them one star, because shortly after having sushi here, I came down with the worst salmonella-like symptoms I've ever had, and I hadn't eaten anything else raw or out of the ordinary in the surrounding few days. But I can't prove it was from their raw fish, so....I'll review them as if I hadn't gotten sick afterwards. It was still, at best, "enh". I was with a large group, and we shared everything we had ordered, and honestly, none of it impressed me. The chow mein was way too greasy, and had little flavor other than that. The rice noodles in our pad kee mao were lumpy, and the chicken was weird, slippery and spongy. Their spicy tuna rolls were too bland, and the noodle wrapper on their gyoza was too thick and chewy. The California rolls were acceptable, and that's the best thing I have to say about all of their food. This is the favorite restaurant of someone I went with, and from this recommendation and a few others, I've concluded that she has terrible taste in food. This is the kind of place that would never make it in the city proper, it's the kind of mediocrity verging on awfulness that could only ever be successful in the suburbs.

The food here was really good! My boyfriend and I have gone quite a few times and the food and service are always excellent! The price is pretty good too! You get a LOT of food for what you pay and we both always leave with leftovers. I am partial to their Phad Thai while my boyfriend loves their spring rolls, and we both agree that their sushi is delicious! They have an amazing selection of sushi and other dishes! Being able to call in our order and pick it up on the way home from work makes eating here really convenient! I wish they delivered, but I have a feeling I would be broke all the time if they did!

Not sure what the big deal is here - it was OK. Husband's Pad Thai ordered 3 star but more hot than that. It was OK, but won't get again. Had better Pad Thai in Mountlake Terrace. I has sushi combo A and it was also OK, but decent price. No strong reason to go back. Service was good, but place was almost empty on Saturday around 2PM so not a great test.

Decided last minute to have dinner here tonight and it was a great decision on our part. It was our first time at this restaurant and we will definitely come back for the fresh sashimi, attentive service, calm ambiance, and delicious food. We stuffed our faces with melt in your mouth sashimi ( try the sashimi set which features butterfish), tasted crunchy vegetable tempura, sipped on warm saki, and tried out an assortment of spicy sushi rolls. We ate so much without putting a hole in our wallet. This will be our Christmas tradition: sushi dinner at IkiIki. Can't wait to come back!!! Finally, a great sushi joint up north. Fun fact: you don't get Salmonella from eating raw fish. Give this family restaurant a try.

This was formerly QQ Bistro and has been remodeled into the new restaurant. They just opened around Thanksgiving and have a Grand Opening sign up. The restaurant is extremely large and they have a sushi bar and separate hard-liquor bar with flat screen tv's. They have lunch specials for $5.95. I had the sashimi lunch set for $12.95 with 3 different types of fish. They are known for their chicken wings. You have your choice between Japanese or Chinese cuisine. We came for the sushi. We had numerous rolls and sashimi and the fish was very fresh. Everything is made fresh to order so no kaiten (conveyor-belt) sushi here.

I don't normally give one-star reviews, especially since I never had the opportunity to eat the food. So, here is the tale of a one-star review. It's a sordid tale with lots of intrigue. It was Valentine's Day, and we wanted to return to the building that used to house our family restaurant, The Nu-Lite. I was very excited to see what they did with the place since it was taken over by new owners. Well, we walked in the door and weren't even greeted. When somebody finally acknowledged us, we were ordered (not asked) to wait a minute. After about ten minutes, we were finally seated. Now, even though it was Valentine's Day, it wasn't busy. There were maybe 8 tables that were eating. The wait staff passed us by about a dozen times, not even making our gaze to get their attention for ordering. They didn't even take our drink order. We were really eager to try the food and have a new sushi experience, but nobody ever came to our table. Finally, after about 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to get up and leave. Nobody said a word to us, nor did they seem to care that we left. My advice to anybody who decides to eat here is to have the patience of a saint and grab a snack beforehand. If you are hungry, have a child with you, or want to get waited on, you may want to find someplace else.

Iki Iki Equals Yummy Yummy! The people here are friendly, gracious and happy! :) the food that i've had here is just awesome and I've had quite a few different sushi dishes from their menu and not one of them was "OK", it was just the Bomb (and for those of you that don't understand, that means "BlAm" the Best). If you know me from Facebook, every time i go here and eat i take pictures of the food (when don't i take pictures of my food) and post them to Facebook and everything right down to the Presentation is just awesome! If you like Chinese or Japanese food, this place is well worth the try for sure if you can take the time to stop by, you won't be disappointed!

Stoked to have such good sushi so close to the home! 1st time: I ate there sitting in a booth, the service was great and the food was good enough to get me to go back again. 2nd time: I ordered take out and arrived 20 mins after I placed my phone order. (I was told 15-20 mins). My food was not ready so I opted to watch the sushi chef prepare my meal. OMG I am so glad that I watched him. My food tasted so much better after I had the pleasure of watching this dude create a beautiful boatload of various items that I'd ordered. *I used the $10 off coupon via their website* When I got home I had a sushigasim! I bought way too much because I'm a cheap fuck and I wanted the $10 discount; as a result I had the most wonderful sushi breakfast the next morning... mmm sushi!! Keep it up please!

My husband and I love this place, we usually find ourselves here once a month or so. Great prices, great service, really fun decor (like you're underwater!), and fabulous food! The sushi is super tasty, beautiful, and consistent. Very high quality and always rotating fresh specials! But they don't just do sushi. They have dishes from all types of Asian restaurants. In the mood for Thai? Theirs will hit the spot. How about perfect Seattle style teriyaki? The salmon is sweet and the katsu crispy. Traditional Chinese? Their General's chicken is perfect, the Mongolian beef a personal favorite. There is truly something for everyone here.

My fiancé, best friend and I are regulars here, for a good reason too! I have never had sushi at this price that is this good of quality ever before. Their Chinese food is also amazing, if you missed their Hong Kong chow mein that is a bummer it was fantastic and I hope they bring it back. Don't worry though because literally everything I've tasted was mouthwatering good. Now, I will say I have experienced slow service before so I can see if it was your first time there it could be a let down. I believe the reason is they really are not a busy place, and normally only one waitress is working. However, they redeemed themselves severely by calling their daughter out to come help (this appears to be family run) so service picked up again. Yes it was frustrating but not enough to alter my 5 star rating, not at all! If you're questioning this place or contemplating trying it - go go go! I suggest the dragon roll, ikiiki roll and my goodness the rainbow roll. All of their sushi is truly a hit and whoever made the comment that the staff was rude to them, I just find that so hard to believe. Amazing eats and good people.

I still love it here, but I've noticed lately the service has gotten slow. I usually come with my husband and with just the two of us things go smoothly. When we've come with other couples it seems to take a very long time to get our food. I still love the food and I still frequent - but if you're coming in a group larger than 2, expect some delays.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
