Some of the best Greek/Mediterranean food I've had, and easily the best in THIS area. The place looks a little divey, but it's cozy inside and roomier than it appears. The staff is super friendly; whenever I go in, which isn't terribly often (so I know they don't remember me), they treat me like a daily regular. There can be a bit of a wait, especially if they're busy (which is often), but it's a testament to their made-to-order food and their popularity. The wait is worth it; I promise.

My husband and I are big travelers for both work & fun. This place is as authentic as you can get in the area. The gyro meat and kabobs are simply the best. The food is very flavorful & the portion sizes are huge. We've eaten here about 4 times and the food is consistently great. We always get the combo platter & then try something new on the menu. The dining room is small and they only have one high chair, so on one occasion we had to wrangle a little 14 month old to stay in the booster seat which was not easy. The only other issue we had was that the service is not fast, so be sure to order some appetizers if you've got little ones or are really hungry. The food is certainly worth the wait, but toddlers don't understand that concept! We do wish they'd toss in a couple of fries in their gyros & did not have lettuce w/ the Greek salad...that'd make it 100% authentic, but in talking with owner understand they tried that customers (who hadn't traveled to Greece) found it it's a strange concept so they switched it up. Regardless, this is another hidden gem in Federal Way!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. We went on a Sunday night (March '15) as a group of six who dined in. The food was good, but the service was inconsistent. We waited a long time for our food and were told this was due to the small kitchen. When it did start arriving it came out a couple plates at a time, followed by a 10 minute delay before the next delivery to the table. Some dishes ordered had to be asked for several times. At least one dish never arrived, but did show up on our check. When asked about removing the missing item, the staff on site were unable to correct it; they needed to wait for the owner to return to do it. In the end, the check still wasn't correct and we were told it couldn't be fixed. I may try it again. I hope next time for a positive experience.

We had the best service and one of the best gyros I've ever had. The restaurant was clean and the menu with photos was very enticing. If you have never eaten Mediterranean food before, this would be the place to try it.

I came across this Greek restaurant by luck only. Thank goodness! A great little establishment, I'll be returning. A very casual restaurant, the food is worth a try. I was greeted quickly by the one server working who told me to sit wherever I wanted. She had one table and they were already eating. I would offer to the owners to train their staff with better etiquette. Other than that and waiting 5 minutes for her to materialize menu, she was friendly and checked on me often. She didn't introduce herself, ask if I had been there before, etc. I ordered stuffed grape leaves and moussaka. I ended up stuffed on 3/4 of the moussaka plate and took the grape leaves home, which I learned the hard way don't remain fresh to the next day. The food was full of flavor. It was cooked almost to perfection, just too much oil. I didn't order a beverage beyond water but noticed they have a refrigerated case of bottled teas and sodas. With only 6-7 tables, you may be waiting for a table on a busy night. I wouldn't bring a group here for that reason. Also, with only one other table of 2 besides me waiting for food and it took 15 minutes to get to me, come by when you have time to spare. For the $22 check before tax, I would expect better ambiance. The large flatscreen televisions can go away to make it a better dining experience. Small private parking lot. Food: 4 Ambiance: 2 Service: 3 Parking: 3

Good portions, the owner is friendly and sweet. We ordered the Gyro sandwiches with rice and Greek fries. The proportion of meat to lettuce was not balanced. I was able to take out much of my lettuce and make myself a little salad and still have a lot of lettuce left in my sandwich. The beef lacked seasoning...as well as the fries. I needed to add a lot more salt. But maybe that's just my preference? But I seriously didn't see any salt on the fries at all. The basmati rice was good. And all the portions were large.

Server was very friendly and we were served quickly. Ordered the gyro plates. Would eat there again. Great to have in our neighborhood.

Great place to grab a bite to eat! Stopped in on a whim and glad I did! Overall a good place to stop I if you're tir ed d of the same ol thing to eat. A WIDE variety of authentic Greek and Lebanese food! I had the gyro sandwich and falafel. Both were full of flavor and authentic tasting. Also, the staff is attentive and friendly! If you like Mediterranean food, stop in and try!

Pretty good greek food, although a bit pricey and not the best for takeout. I wasn't super impressed with the gyros, although the food was fresh.

    (3)
  • Andrea S.

The gyros are good but the atmosphere was slightly sexist. It was probably because of the culture but the only time the guy addressed me was when I told him what I wanted. Other than that, he asked us several questions and he would only address my boyfriend. He even yelled from the counter, "Hey man, do you want some spice?" My boyfriend said, "yes" and I had to yell, "Umm...I would like some too!" Ugh. It was super annoying.

One of my new favorite places, the Mediterranean & Gyro Grill offers a wide variety foods from the Mediterranean region. I don't normally order appetizers but I'm glad I did this time. The hummus is outta this world. Freshly made at the restaurant with organic ingredients, the taste is immediately satisfying. (In case you're wondering, the delicious reddish vegetable garnishing the hummus is a turnip pickled in beet juice). Warm pita bread accompanies this rich, tasty blend of hummus goodness. I also recommend the spicy lamb shawarma sandwich, which is the Lebanese/Syrian version of a Greek gyro. As my daughter puts it, "shawarma is a gyro on steroids." Packed with meat, potatoes, pickles, tomato and the right amount of sauce, it is a hardy meal and I can never finish it (although I keep trying).

  • Corinne P.

Wow, I love this place and I wasn't even in the restaurant long enough to have the service. I got the cheese steak inside a pita bread and it was delicious. The guys behind the counter were very friendly and the overall place was clean. I want to go back to this place to try their lamb entrees.

  • Angela W.

Went to Wild Waves and decided to try a new Greek place. The hummus platter was one of the best I have ever had. Smelled wonderful, tasted even better! It was a bit of a drive but well worth it!

  • Karissa S.

Do not let the strip mall exterior fool you, there is phenomenal food at this establishment! I shared the lamb and chicken shwarma plates with my friend. The spices they used on the meats were flavorful and although dominant on both plates, did not overwhelm the palate. The owner chatted with us and was as sweet as can be. I will definitely be back in the near future!!

  • Leon M.

This is my 5th time eating in or take out. I really like the food for the most part. Most items are a little greasy. They are slow as molasses. The price is reasonable. Kids menu not very good 1 of the kids ordered a cheeseburger it looked like a school burger from the 70's Overall this place is nothing special, but for this area is OK.

  • Lucas R.

Great place for dinner or lunch. Awesome falafel and hummus that is different (but better). We stop here about once a month. I always get the chicken schwarma plate but the rest of the family usually tries something different every time. We like the kabobs, fresh pita, gyros, salads, and combo dinners. Friendly service and authentic, fresh food Fast takeout or comfortable dining areas for small groups.

    (5)
  • Tonya L.

My son and I always eat here when we're in town for a swim meet. The falafel is absolutely the best. So flavorful and the texture is perfect and it's hot. Then add the best hummus ever, I can't even describe the creamy goodness. Served with crispy fresh salad and soft chewy flat bread. We love this place!!

  • Kyle B.

I had lunch here the other day with a friend. The owner walked by our table and greeted us, he was very friendly. I am a Gyro fan and their gyro's rock! I also tried some of my friend plate and it was spot on. The only possible negative thing I could see someone saying about this place would be that at times you may have to wait for your food when they are busy. We I believe the wait is worth it when the quality is top notch.

  • MyHanh H.

Really yummy chicken shawarma plate. Huge, totally could've split it with hubby. He liked the falafel

    (5)
  • Camille V.

Much better! We've been a couple of times the last few months, and I don't know what happened, but the quality of food and service has vastly improved. I think this is a place that is better with dining in than take-out, honestly. 3 1/2 stars.

  • Jenny R.

We totally love their food and equally love their customer service. The owner/chef Chef actually came out asked how are experience was thanked us for coming. Water refills were plentiful portions were big enough for plentiful leftovers!!!

  • Lisa N.

Delicious!!! Price is reasonable and the food is great!!! Definitely our new favorite greek restaurant We ordered the gyro salad, gyro plate and the chicken wings. Large portion sizes. It was a bit hectic when we first arrived because there were so many customers, so it took awhile to get served. However, the friendly service made up for that. Restaurant size is small (4 or 5 tables) FYI: the place has only one highchair

Let me start my review by asking, Why in the world is every Greek restaurant I go to so slow? This one was no exception either. I could have cooked the food faster and for the time that they make you wait for it, your expectations are not met by the time the food finally arrives at your table. This is a little hole in the wall Greek joint located in an out of the way strip mall but I was in the mood for a gyro so we stopped in for a quick lunch. If you are in a crunch for time, this is not a quick place to go. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and welcoming. They have a great selection of wines to pair with your entrees as well as the local Seattle brewery Georgetown on tap as well as a nice assortment of bottled beers to choose from. The menu is large with many items to choose from. You can even get a Philly cheese steak sandwich if you like. I ordered the gyro sandwich and upgraded my fries to Greek fries which means they pour tzatziki sauce over them and shred a little feta cheese on top. They would have been splendid except that they were luke warm by the time I received them and the tzatziki sauce was ice cold. They could definitely take some measures to remedy that. My sandwich was good sized and well balanced with meat, lettuce, onions and sauce. The pita was delicious. My wife ordered the gyro place at the top of the spicy chart but there was no spice to be had. Black ground pepper is hotter than her food was. The taste of her food was good. The house salad dressing is amazing and she raved about the Greek rice. Her hummus was cold but tasted good. I've been to places that serve their hummus warm and we prefer that but I know most Greek places serve it cold. This place is probably the closest Greek restaurant to the new apartment that we are moving to so I suppose we will go back. We will definitely make sure that we have enough time to wait for our food next time and try something new from the menu. If I do, I'll come back and update my review. Thanks for reading.

Swimming in Garlic, Za'atar and Spice. If that's what you want in your Middle Eastern/Med Style food, this is the place for you. The breads are fresh and light, the meat is juicy and the flavors Are punchy and complex. We came to fulfill my husbands gyro craving. He was ALL set. Oh I love a place where the food has not been "Dumbed Down" to make people more comfortable. When I go out to eat I want something I can't/don't know how to make. And this was the best Lamb Shawarma I'd had in ages - full of all the flavors, and the crispy flat bread to boot.

Chicken Shawarma again x2, And a cold beer while waiting for take out. Nothing better on a hot summer day.

I have never been a big fan of Greek food but I went here for the first time today. I got the chicken shawarma plate and it was amazing. I will definitely be back for more!

My oldest LOVES Greek (Mediterranean) food. She loves this place and I have to agree with her. I like their Falafels and tabbouleh salad. She likes the Gyro with Greek fries (don't like that this isn't a combo option). We both really like the rice pudding & Turkish tea. Prices are good and portions are ample.

Let me start off by saying the service here is wonderful. My experience was with the owner and from start to finish I felt appreciated as a customer. He had no problems customizing my order to my liking and even gave suggestions on which items I might enjoy since this was my first visit. I ended up getting their burger and omg! it was delicious. he was friendly and kind and cooked my meal to perfection. this place is such a hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone looking to grab a bite in fed way.

We were there on a Friday just after the lunch rush. We were greeted and seated right away. Service was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Gyro Rice Plate and 2 Falafel on the side. Wife had the Chicken Shawarma. The food arrived about 15 minutes later and WOW. The portions are huge! The gyros meat was well seasoned and very tasty, the hummus was creamy and flavorful, definitely NOT the commercial stuff. The greek salad was fresh and drizzled in balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The Falafel was crunchy and very satisfying. We both ordered the spicy version and were very happy with our choice. We love mediterranean cuisine and appreciated the complex flavors offered. I enjoyed their Tzatziki sauce over Gyros and the wife was very pleased with the Tahini sauce drizzled over her chicken meat. We were impressed with our meal and ordered a half-dozen wings to-go. The wings are "out of this world". They are huge, bursting with authentic middle-eastern flavor and unlike anything we had before. We will definitely be back for more. They have a huge menu with many options for food combinations.

Jay the owner is awesome and is equally passionate about his food. Today he created a dish for me to try that was this grilled Chicken. Very satisfying! I loved it.

WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!! The chef was friendly. My mom and I ordered the regular shish kabob plate and two sodas that we had no refill on. The plates were $11 each yet our bill came out to $32?? My mother paid without me there and when I asked for the receipt she said that he didn't give her a receipt for the bill. When I turned back to look at the register he was stuffing something in his shirt pocket. I wanted to confront him but she said forget about it lets just go. Food was mediocre, the salad had way too much balsamic and only 1 tomato, no cheese, basically just lettuce. Pita was delicious but because of the way the bill was handled I will NEVER go back. Just a warning to the rest of you!!

  • Crystal C.

My husband and I moved to the area last year. Never loved greek food before... tried this place once and are totally hooked. Portion sizes are extremely generous and it is definitely the best greek we've ever had :-)

  • Mark C.

I asked the owner to bring me what he liked. It was A Euro Plate that was spicy. Very Good!!! It included a very tasty Hummus, Bread, Meat and a salad. I was very impressed with the service, atmosphere and meal. The meal was under $11.00. I do not make it up to that part of town often, but when I am in the mood for Mediterranean, I will make the extra trip.

Really great food! The place is very clean, servers were attentive and quick, and it was a great meal. We were greeted and sat right away, our sever was great and there was a great menu selection. We didn't wait long for our order, but it was a Saturday evening. There were a number of to go orders as well though, but we didn't notice any wait for ours. The food is very fresh, seasoned well and tasty! We will definitely be back when we are in the area! Prices are moderate but you do have huge portions, I brought half of my Gyro platter home!

This place is absolutely fantastic! The food is amazing, the staff are always very friendly and welcoming, and their location is always clean. Love these guys and will continue to come back. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. -shi

Best gyro and falafel I've had in awhile. The gyro meat was juicy and tasty. The Greek fries could have been a little less liquidy but were good. They have a good menu plus beer and wine, so I will have to visit for dinner sometime. The place is more east Mediterranean than Greek - think Lebanese and Syrian.

    (4)
  • Trisha N.

I'm always impressed by this place but they have stepped it up lately! Their Greek fries have more to them, there are more people working, and so many more customers in the dining room than I've ever seen. Maybe I've only come during slow times.. Who knows. But I do know this place is great. Try the gyro or the shawarma sandwiches.. They are amazing. I ALWAYS get the Greek fries. If you live close, sign up for the loyalty program. You get texts telling you about special deals and after so many orders.. you get a free meal! (Don't forget to check in at the counter.)

Mnmm, it was so delicious.. I had the salmon salad and hubby had gyro sandwich.. We ordered bunch of other appetizer too. Everything tastes so good and fresh.. We even tried the dessert and it was so yummy.. My husband joked let's come here everyday.. Also the place is clean and device was excellent..

First try here and I'm already ready to become a regular. Super sweet staff. Delicious food. Convenient location. Full of awesome choices. I'm in love with the chicken souvlaki plate. Came with salad, hummus, rice, pita and the chicken. Huge portions. Great tasting.

Delicious three way combo. The humus was so tasty. Their homemade Dolmas were out of this world!

  • Garth H.

My wife and I gave this place a try tonight, it did not disappoint. Being a bit of a Greek food snob, I was surprised at the overall quality and taste of the food. They have a pretty extensive menu that has quite a few middle eastern dishes on it. My only disappointment was for a "Greek" restaurant to call it "Turkish" coffee instead of "Greek" coffee is sort of blasphemous.

  • Tina H.

This place was aaaaaaawesome! I was out shopping for a bicycle and got super hungry so I used yelp to find something close and delicious. Based on the reviews I decided to give this place a shot and I am very glad I did. I had the lamb kebabs, Turkish coffee and Turkish tea. I knew after my first whiff from the kitchen that the food was going to be amazing and I was not wrong. The food was so good it made me wish I had worn stretchy pants so I could have eaten my entire plate!! Additionally, the lady who served as our waitress and was also working in the kitchen was the sweetest! This place is not close to home or work but with food and service that good I will definitely be coming back!

  • Michele P.

I'm pleased to see a gyro restaurant at this neck of the woods, and a really good one at that - tired of running across town. The flavor of fresh falafel being cooked enters my nose upon entering the place and my mouth starts watering. I've always been greeted by a friendly employee. I usually order multiple items and they tend to be ready under 10 minutes. Their walnut and almond baklava should be illegal, they're out of this world good, although the price reflects it. However, the price compared to portion size on their plates is an awesome deal. The fresh hummus and warm pita is always a nice addition. I will definitely be coming back as long as the good food and prices keep up.

Love this place! Have been living in this neighborhood for nearly 10 years and I can't believe we just found this place! First time trying Greek food and it was amazing! Such great food and great customer service! The owner and I think wife came over and talked to us to make sure the food was good and they were just so friendly and down to earth. Love it. Had lunch there and going back for dinner! Must try guys!

Outstanding, got the spaghetti with tzatziki and lamb and Turkish coffee. Great guy running the place, big friendly Mediterranean dude. Perfect fuel after our 200 mile Ragnar relay this weekend. Would go back again when visiting from Portland.

Gave this place a 2nd try last night and it was a BIG mistake. The first time I checked out this restaurant it was brand new, the place was busy and after standing at the register ready to order for 5-10 mins without being acknowledged I just left. I thought I would give it another go last night and wish I hadn't. This time the place was empty, I was literally the only customer there. I ordered and the gentleman spoke very limited English which was frustrating to me. It was a quick wait and I ordered my food to go. Once I brought it home and opened the box right there on top of my exposed gyro was a long thick black hair. It was disgusting. The two cooks were not wearing hats which are the law and I believe they need an inspection immediately as they would fail based on that fact alone. The rice was very good. Gyro was drenched and saturated in sauce disintegrating the pita. It's not hard to make a good gyro and this place failed big time. If you want good Greek food then don't waste your time, go to the Commons and eat at Gyros House, they have never disappointed. Please see the pic of the owner threatening me about my review. Completely unacceptable.

Such an amazing place to eat!! It like going to your family's house for lunch or dinner. They care about their customers. I have been here about 10 times and has never failed to make me and my tummy happy. All plates are amazing even down to the fries. I love how the kitchen is open so you can see the chefs at work. I love to cook myself and they share everything even down to the spices. It's fresh, fast, and fabulous. It's a must eat. True diamond in the rough.

This was our first time here and I was so impressed. Delicious, authentic fresh food and attentive service with plenty of good cheer. We had the beef shwarma plate and chicken shwarma sandwich. Both had plenty of flavorful seasoned meat. Outstanding. I'm already planning on going back in the next few days.

We went based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Only 10 tables, 6 regular and 4 high tops. Lots of people ordering take out. Baba Ganouj was a great appetizer and the Moussaka and lamb Schwarma were worthy of a trip we took a few years back to Athens. Flavors were fresh and heavy with garlic. Home made bread was excellent. Baklava Pistachio was good but not exceptional. Great service and good prices on beer and wine. We had 4 beers, 2 entrees and an appetizer and 2 baclava and the total was $61.75 before tax and tip.We will be back. No need to take food pictures. The ones on their website are true to what the actual food will look like. Small family owned place is worth you business. They work hard and you get your money's worth.

Fresh & fast delish food! It was my first time... They thanked me for my business. Nice touch. I ordered a Gyro sandwich, I asked if I could have it with fries they said Yes! Make it a combo for an additional $1.99. The combo can be either fresh fries or a Greek salad. I couldn't decide so I asked if I could have half n half? They said sure, we can do that! So they let me have half fries & half salad. Two thumbs up! It looked amazing! I love supporting local guys and I live close by! So I do my part in supporting the local businesses. Anyways my gyro was delicious full of meat, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, fresh shredded cheese and taziki sauce. My fries we're mostly peeled with a little skin left on the tips. Served hot! Without salt so you can add as much as you would like. I'd only suggest to cook them just a tad but longer to get the potato softer on the inside, but it didn't stop me from chowing them down!! They were pretty good regardless!! The Greek salad had romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, fresh shredded feta cheese and vinaigrette dressing and seasonings. I was missing some olives, I believe. At least the menu pic shows olives? For a drink I wanted to try the fresh squeezed lemonade with mint. They said they had run out with a large group earlier. so instead I had the 10 oz. Turkish Tea made with Turkish tea leaves and steeped in rose water. The one thing I liked is they are open 7 days a week! Even Sundays until 9pm. Go in hungry and check it out!!!

yup 5 (five!) stars! I can't say enough good things about these guys! I love Mediterranean food, but it's kinda hard to find around here. I used to hit all the spots on Le Brea in Los Angeles and gave up finding an equal here. This is it! JOY! So onto the food... Great hummus, we ordered the hummus starter and it was HUGE and tasty. They had this great green, like garlic pesto, on the grilled pita bread. I loved it, but my daughter did not, so we went to buy a side of plain pita, and surprise they just gave it to us! how nice! My daughter said it was the best pita bread she had ever had, yummy warm and fluffy. I got the three kabob plate it came with hummus, pita bread, and a choice of salad or tabbouleh. I got the tabbouleh and it was so good, nice and fluffy with a lemony taste. the meats were so great, and as I ate them they just got better and better, the chicken was my favorite and had the green pesto stuff on it. BEST kalamata olives, very fruity not just salty. I've been saying forever that I WISH I could find a place here with pickled beets, THEY HAVE THEM! and they are super good. My husband got the gyro plate, when they brought my daughter's pita bread the owner grabbed up his plate because they didn't put feta on his salad and wanted to make it right! My husband LOVED his food. It's our new favorite place. We spent a total of $30 and had a great meal and walked out with enough leftovers for another meal for two. Great value. The staff was very friendly and the owner was going around checking on customers, and even offered us a free glass of wine to taste. I've heard some people complain that this place is a little slow, and it is a tad (but only like 10-15 minutes), but the food came out so fresh and hot it was worth the wait. Love love love this place! go. NOW! ;-)

Best Greek food around. Something the NE Tacoma/Federal Way area has been missing. The food is fantastic and not too bad of a beer selection. 3 Georgetown brews on tap with a decent bottle selection. Food is authentic and service is always prompt. For take out, the wait is minimal. The only downside for me is the Bollywood music on the TVs. Other than that it is a must visit.

  • Lisa M.

I have eaten here several times since my 1st review. I have eaten in and ordered take out. They don't seem to listen when you order. If you order no tomatoes, on a take out, everytime, there us tomatoes. The sauce seens to be oil based instead of creamy and doesn't taste right on the gyros. I am not goibg back.

We are repeat customers and love this place. Food is great, in spite of a crowded kitchen. Always good. If you have a problem just let them know and it will be corrected. We eat here at least every couple weeks. It's our favorite neighborhood hot spot. Love it!!

Ordered a chicken gyro with rice. Think about your favorite gyro place and then multiply all that yummy goodness times 80 billion. This is the yummiest gyro I've ever had. Perfect rice, sauce, pita, meat, feta. So so good. Super happy I tried this little place. I will be bringing my family here soon!

The gyros are always consistently refreshing and delicious. The owner is very friendly and always checks to see if we're satisfied. I've been back 5 times in a little over a month. I try to have something new every time I go and I've never been disappointed.

Their food is really fresh and the owner/chef there is super friendly! I usually get the gyro sandwich and it's a super good deal for the amount of food you get. Their fries are actual sliced potatos which is nice for a change and I crave their food once in awhile. A perfect place for a vegetarian as well! Their menus have pictures with every meal so you can judge the food by its picture. They're super nice so feel free to ask questions if it's your first time! The place is on the corner of the plaza, across from a kid's daycare place. You won't be disappointed!

The space is generic with just a handful of tables and tons of TVs. There is plenty of parking and the staff are very nice. More importantly the food is good and fresh. Unfortunately it's a bit out of the way for me to frequent often. Definitely recommended though.

I have for the past decade or so dabbled in the world of the many Gyro restaurants that have popped up from Maryland to Washington. Today, I had a Gyro that blew my socks off. Deliciously fresh ingredients and carefully assembled with a few details and cares that make for the most outstanding Gyro I've ever devoured. The bad? ...now I will have to drive an hour and a half for this cuisine as nothing else compares. Still worth it.

Amazing service and amazing authentic food. The owner has amazing hospitality and makes a point to visit and welcome all of his diners. It was our first time here, but we will definitely be back very regularly. There's a great menu selection with many items that I have not seen on any middle eastern menus except for in the Middle East. This is a new favorite and I can't wait to try all of the food.

We went on an antique hunting mission in Browns Point and ended up finding this treasure instead. Our family's favorite ethnic comfort food while living in Europe was either Döner Kebab or Spit roasted Gyros (vertical rotisserie). We gave up on finding something equivalent, here in the states and just resorted to enjoying these dishes while visiting relatives abroad. Not kidding--our first stop upon getting off the plane is the first Kebab or Gyros stand. Yes, there are a bunch of restaurants in the Seattle area that serve the above, but none of them come close to to the ones we are used to. We no longer have to board a plane to devour these delicacies. We found a really delicious place--though a little far away for Seattle folks. However, if you want to have a nice drive to a beautiful waterfront park (Dash Point), work up a hunger with a hike/walk on the forest trails and beachfront--you can reward yourself with a bountiful meal at Gyros Grill--just up the hill. My recommendation on your first visit is the gyros plate...Freshly sliced, deliciously spiced Lamb or Beef, Mediterranean Rice Pilaf, 4 pieces of pita triangles, Tahini/Hummus, Tzaziki and a fresh salad with a tangy vinaigrette. All that for 11.95!! So worth it to come more often at that price. I had their homemade pistachio FILO honey pastry for desert. So delicious! Efharisto! Teşekkür ederim! Thank you to GYRO GRILL for being there for us with your highly recommended Mediterranean bistro fare. Wine and Beer are available as well. Didn't try them, but the list of glass and bottle options looked good. FYI this is a casual place. It has big screens with ESPN broadcasted so don't be getting into your Sunday best. The tables and chairs are a mix of bar height and regular. Lots of parking. (It is at a neighborhood shopping development)

Just moved here from out of state and very happy to have a good kabob/gyro joint so close to home. Ordered a gyro, hummus plate, and some falafel. Gyro was perfect - a little spice in the sauce, meat was well seasoned and not greasy. A whopper of a sandwich. The hummus was great too. Lemony and creamy. The falafel was ok. A little doughy, more like a hush puppie. Not terrible, but I've had better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good take out joint with big portions, fresh tasting food, and reasonable prices.

We had dinner here last evening 11/14 and it was delicious. The Lentil soup was to die for, the combo kabobs were scrumptious which we split. Chef Jay** and staff made us feel welcome and most satisfied. With beer & wine the reasonable cost, quality and meal size of the experience was well worth the time and money. ** definitely Seahawk fan restaurent w/TV's. Jerry & Dori "GO HAWKS!!!"

This is a good place for some delicious gyros. The owners are friendly and the service is great. Average wait time for food is approx. 15 minutes so not too bad for a lunch break. Definitely one of my usual spots!

This place is excellent! Great customer service and they truly care about their customers. The food is the best I've had in the area. I ordered the gyro plate and baklava dessert. I ate all of it and the food truly tastes fresh, unlike other Mediterranean restaurants. The bread tastes fresh and the flavor of the food is truly unique and authentic. A great place for lunch or dinner.

2.5 stars... I really wanted to like this place. I went in dressed in my pajamas so is this why I got bad service? I ordered 2 gyro sandwiches to go and the owner said if for $1.99 I could get salad or fries and a drink! So I got one combo. I waited about 10-15 minutes just for 2 gyro sandwiches and there was one table at the time. I get home and then I realized he didn't give us our drink ...and then I look at the fries from the combo they look so soggy like freaking sad drooping lukewarm fries but burnt at the ends seasoned with some red chili or whatever....disappointing and gross. The gyros were pretty okay for $5.99 but when you can't even make fresh fries and you forget my drink ....then I don't even know what to say.... And his kid was sitting like two feet from the register which I feel is unprofessional...don't bring your kids to work.

This place has some really great food. Hands down one of the best gyros I've ever had. By far the best in town. The chefs spaghetti is out of the world amazing. It's a Mediterranean take on an Italian classic. You will not be disappointed if you are up for trying something new. I've also had the gyro plate. The portions are HUGE! So you will definitely have leftovers or enough to share for two.

The service at this place is horrible! I placed my to go order at 5:30 and it is now 6:00 and I'm frightened I might not get it for another half an hour as the cook is just confirming the order of the people two ahead of me. My son likes the Philly here so, I'll stop by but this will be my last time. The horrible service makes this place not worth it. I'm so frustrated! Why open a restaurant if you don't have customer service? Why place an order just for the cook to ask you 30 minutes later and ask what you ordered? As a side note, the cashier just told a customer who tried to call in their order that their battery died!!!! What the heck?!!!! Service is horrible and I will not be returning! I'll be surprised if this place is still open in a month. Lots of people leaving angry!!!!

What a find! Right in the middle of a Federal Way strip mall, too, of all places! I go here all the time with my middle eastern friends, or pick up takeout after work to bring home for a delicious meal. If you're looking for atmosphere, this isn't a great choice. If you're looking for fantastic, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, this is the place for you! Love the tabbouleh salad!

  • Mike B.

When the place first opened it was great. The used fresh cuts of beef and lamb, made their own tyzaki sauce, grilled fresh pitas and fresh veggies, since it's gone into decline, they use the processed meat and lamb roast found at gyro places in the mall, no toasted pita in fresh veggies and a deplorable sauce that has the consistency of water with way too much lemon juice, chicken gyro was burned, water logged by watery sauce and quite flavorless except overpowered lemon in sauce, they seem to have cheapened their ingredients on hope of better profit, the owner is still a nice guy but rest of staff not so much, watch people who came in after me and my Partner get their food way sooner and other chef states oh I though that was your order I just finished, when spoke to owner promised unfulfilled comp'ed food haven't been back since

Excellent medi food. The lentil soup is awesome and the kabobs are amazing. Tabouli was really good too. We have been waiting for great medi food to come to Federal Way and it is here. Everything is very fresh.

I have been looking for a shawarma place. I was not expecting to find a home run in Federal Way. The lamb shawarma is a slightly different style than I've had before, but absolutely wonderful. crisped pita wrapped, with garlic, tahini, and pickles.

Great! The owner is always so polite and remembers us when we go. The food is so amazing! All organic vegetables and fresh food. Staff is always helpful. They cook it right as ordered so its always fresh. Definitely recommend! So amazing if you are craving greek!

This is a little neat place that I happen to stumble upon when looking for some awesome Greek food. The owner is super friendly and the food is amazing! I would eat there every day if I could. Every time I come in I try to talk to the owner. I recently made plans to host a party and wanted to supply my guests with Greek food. I called the restaurant and was extremely appreciative that the owner was willing to go out of his way to give me a great price on the food. I feel like I'm family when I go there.

The first first time I came to this place is really good I got the Philly cheesesteak I liked it alot I came back and ordered chicken wings and they were gross mean 0 out of 10 over cooked and the sauce was like a flavorless paste I also got the Philly again was still good dude hands were hella dirty and the glass of soda had a random piece of lettuce in i won't be going back for a while. The owner was nice tho.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. The reason for that is, the misspellings on the menu (it's "spanakopita", not 'Spinacle Pita' or whatever it read. When I ordered "spanakopita", she didn't quite understand) and it seems they have very little room for the three people moving around behind the counter to tend to each task. The place has only been open about a month though, and all staff were smiling, polite, and helpful. Pakistani music videos on the TV wasn't a problem. By far better than being stuck with ESPN or such (though they state games are aired when on). Around 11-12 on a weekday, it was busy, but not too bad. Our order was ready in about 10 minutes, and it was all prepared fresh right then (as most Greek establishments do). The food was pretty good. I'd rate it a notch below Gyros House in the Commons, but easier than bothering with the mall just for lunch. The Falafel is fresh, not a commercial mix, and hummus is well above average. Side salad was just right, too. Try this instead of chain fast food next time you're on that side of town; it's obviously better for you.

    (4)
  • G S.

Food was ok not great...why not great? The salad was drenched in vinegar type dressing and the salad only tasted like the vinegary dressing n the sauce on the gyro didn't quite taste like other Greek gyro sauces...it was kind of watered down. Wasn't bad but was just average. The place overall wasn't really clean and the windows looked like someone tried to clean them with a grease rag. Pricy too.

Went to Federal Way to shop for the weekend and were craving some gyros. Came upon this place and read pretty good reviews so we decided to try it out. The service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, and the FOOD!!! It was one of the best places I have gone for Mediterranean food. The portions were generous, and the flavor... amazing. I recommend this to anyone. I had the chicken kabob plate with rice and a greek salad. It came with hummus and warm herb pitas on the side. :)

Went here for lunch on the recommendation of several co-workers. My boss got so excited that I was going he had me get some lunch for him too. LOL. I hope this place lasts - because DANG! that is some fine food they have there, and it's pretty inexpensive for what you get too. I've had falafel from a few other places, and it's usually mediocre. This falafel is made fresh (not from a mix) right there in their kitchen. Their french fries are also hand cut and fresh from the kitchen. The fries were a little undercooked and soggy today, but I'll let that go because the place was PACKED at lunch hour. Word must have gotten around that Gyro Grill is DA BOMB!! :) UNBELIEVEABLE!! I'm in love with this place. No more driving to Bellevue or Seattle for mediterranian deliciousness....

Great food!! I am picky about Mediterranean food, and this makes me cut for sure. The first few times I ate here they didn't get my order right, even though I was ordering right off the menu (nothing tricky) now, I'm just careful to be really specific!

Great Greek food in a strip mall! Married to a Greek we have high standards in our family when it comes to eating Greek food out, but these was actually pretty good. We were visiting from out of town so it was our first time here. The lamb was cooked just right and the shrimp dishes were very good as well. We would go back for sure.

  • Liketotravel H.

I love this place! Very fresh and big plates! They have the biggest gyros I've ever seen and the combo plates are great size that we always have leftovers. My favorite is the Gyro Plate...you get greek salad, hummus, plenty of meat served with rice underneath and pita bread (warm) WAY BETTER than the Kent one that I was so used to...never going back there again...THIS place will be my Greek go -to....try it! You won't regret it! Perfect place for those who lives in Browns Point/NE Tacoma or Federal Way area...they are quick too especially when you order to go.

This is by far the best middle eastern place around. My wife is from Iran so we have to try out every Mediterranean/middle eastern place that exists in Washington. Out of all that I've tried (not just in Washington) this one is without a doubt the best. If you're not sure what to get I recommend the combo kabab. It's a good way to feel out what you like. The shawarma as a plate or sandwich is also ridiculously good. I'm not sure about the negative comments on here about service. The staff are friendlier here than most places. But if you're going to get take-out it's not a bad idea to call ahead. Unless you want to kill 20 minutes drinking a beer or two.

This place opened up a few months ago and it has really come into it's own. It is consistently good, and occasionally great. Gyros are a lamb-beef press shaved and put in a warmer. Then placed on a warm pita, smothered in onions, tomatoes, lettuce. Topped with homemade tzatziki, paprika and cheese. Breath-Killer but worth it. Plus the Falafel is homemade and so good i couldn't get a picture of it. (the wife's was gone ) Truly a gem in NE Tacoma

Love the Gyro Grill. Food is always fresh hot and delicious. They are always adding new exciting dishes. It's the real deal too. The rice is amazing. Combo plates delish. Not sure what is happening on the people with bad reviews. All the chefs wear hairnets and the kitchen is open and super clean. the owner is super friendly ready to make anything for you and your dining experience top notch

  • Stephen R.

The food tasted good last time I went but service has recently been extremely slow and disorganized. Last time the cook asked us three times what we ordered and still brought out the wrong thing... Those plates were for the people next to us. They took the dishes from us and gave it to them... That's bad form. Plus those people had come in well after us so we waited even longer. The place was relatively empty at this point so heaven forbid it gets busy! I am also disturbed by the former employees review about the sanitation problems. It may be one review but it makes me think twice.

Just noticed the grand opening of the Gyro Grill on Hoyt Road and decided to try it for lunch today. Oh my goodness, what an amazing surprise ! The menu is comprehensive and tantalizing . My husband and I shared a combo kabob platter with a side of Baba Ganoush. The platter featured chicken, beef, and lamb along with hummus, rice and a freshly made tabbouleh salad. The portion was quite generous and the quality and flavor was unsurpassed in our experience. This is a true gem for our community. Please indulge yourself in a "fine dining experience" where you might least expect it.

We went to this restaurant shortly after it opened and were very very disappointed. They got my wife's order totally wrong and of course we didn't discovered it until we got home with her to go order. My gyro sandwich was okay but the meat was so dry it was painful. I had gone back one more time couple months later and had the cheesesteak sandwich which actually was very good. We really hadn't planned on going back to this restaurant but we had a hankering for Greek food today and it was the closest game in town. My wife and I were both very impressed this time around. She had the gyro combo which was excellent. The meat which had been so dry the first time was very moist and nice. I had the hummus appetizer which is made from scratch at the restaurant and it was excellent. I also had another small Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was a great choice. It was juicy messy and yummy. In fact my wife had a taste of it and I had to grab it out of her hand to get it back. I'm so glad it's was good today because it's close and this will be now on our list of places to go.

Delicious, made-for-you food. We ordered lamb shawarma & gyro sandwiches, grape leaves, falafel, Greek salad, rice. Everything fresh, well seasoned. We'll make the trip when we're in town after this!

Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Very clean and friendly. The food was pretty good. One issue we had is that we had a large group and the orders got a little mixed up but wasn't a big deal. Overall we were satisfied. Will come back

Worst service ever! The first time we went we arrived an hour before they closed, the sign said open and they turned us away because they said they were closed. We tried again to support or local restaurants. We ordered at the counter to eat in the restaurant. We watched lots of to go orders come and go. Finally, people who ordered and sat down 25 minutes after us got their food. We went to the counter to ask for a refund and they didn't even know what we ordered! So after 40 minutes we showed them our receipt and got our money back and left hungry.

Yum. Excellent food. Had falafel sandwich and it was one of the best ever. Fries drenched in tzatziki and feta was husbands favorite. Don't expect fast food or you will be disappointed. This is the real deal so it takes time to make the delicious authentic cuisine.

I found a coupon in the Federal Way Your Local Shopper discount Flyer that came in the mail and the coupon was for a FREE Sandwich with purchase of a Combo. I thought well that's pretty sweet, good excuse to give them another try! So after scanning the menu, I decided I'd go with the Gyro Plate combo and get the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich as the free sandwich. When I got to the counter to order I let the guy know right away that I had the coupon. He told me they had stopped accepting the coupon last month(the coupon I was holding in my hand said it expired 11-30-13 and I had just gotten that flyer last week)... after a few awkward seconds he said "just for you I'll take the coupon anyway, buddy." So I guess that was his attempt at being humorous. After the awkwardness wore off I gave him my order and he told me that with that coupon you actually DON"T GET TO CHOOSE which FREE SANDWICH. The FREE sandwich is the Gyro automatically! So I thought, well alright that's ok. So instead I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich Combo and got the FREE Gyro instead, with tax it came out to $11something. After sitting down, I forget to order some falafels (DOH!) so I went back to the counter to order 2 falafels and I was telling the owner how they are the BEST I've ever had. So he said, "Buddy for you I'll give you 3 for $2!!" Sweet, an extra falafel!! After 20 minutes or so, we got our food. I was having flashbacks of my first encounter with the Gyro and thought, I'll approach it with an open mind. But I honestly dug into the falafels first! AH-MAZING!!!! They were served on a little bed of perfectly crisp romain lettuce and drizzled and sitting on a little pool of tahini sauce! Whenever I find something to eat that's just delicious goodness, I like to take my time and savor every last morsel and I did the same here. I shared the falafels this time tho! I was so consumed with the falafels that I forgot the Gyro. I did try the Philly Cheese Steak and it was tasty! The meat was so tender and I liked how there was mushrooms mixed in with the onions & peppers! I ended up taking the Gyro to go and when I had it later on, it was more enjoyable then my previous experience. The meat was most, tender and flavorful! The owner came to check on us and told us that the bread roll used for the Philly Cheese Steak was new and he was going for a more rustic feel for it. I told him it was nice and soft so it worked well with the meat. Overall experience: Pleasant, I came in with an open mind and disregarded my prior experience here. The food is fresh and tasty and (while you will have to wait around to get your drinks here if eating in), service is friendly and you can tell the owner takes pride in what he puts out! PROS: One of the MUST HAVE items to get here is their falafels!! Seriously freaking amazing goodness! I've had many falafels and I have to say this is one of the BEST I've ever had! At .75 cent a piece, I highly recommend them!! CONS: This is really not a sit down place to go to! I think it's more of a TAKE OUT joint! The 2 times I've been here there is always a constant stream of people coming in placing take out orders as opposed to actually eating in! So both times I've been here so far, I've chosen to eat in and both times if you want a drink, your going to have to wait to get that. Probably 10-15 minutes after you've actually gotten your food!!! Ya, I know seriously.. cause who doesn't drink something while eating. According to their menu placed on the tables they do have a website: mediterraneangyrogrill.c… but I tried to look it up but it looks like they either haven't paid for the domain or still working on the website. I always appreciate when you can look up stuff online before going to a place, so hopefully they'll be able to do that here!

I've been eating here about twice a month or so since they opened. The food here is above average and the prices are very reasonable. The owner is very friendly and can even have a good conversation with him while he's preparing your food. Ask for the lamb over rice plate, it's not on the menu but if you ask for it he'll know what you're talking about.

Amazing food! I have to say, I just tried Mediterranean for the 1st time last week up north in Kirkland and it was great. Then I went here this week for a business lunch appointment, and WOW - let me just say....this place is AMAZING! When you go here, ask the owner Jay for his best, and he will surely give it to you! 5 starts and two thumbs up!!!

I love mediterranean food and have been going to the Gyro House at the Commons Mall regularly for the last few years. I happend to be in the neighborhood and decided to give the Mediterranean Gyro Grill a try. I must say, the food is outstanding. It's a lot more authenic than the food at the Gyro house, the portions are larger and the staff is a whole lot more friendly and caring. The Gyro Grill is going to be my new regular go to for mediterranean food, no more mall food court for me.

Finally, an eatable restaurant in Federal Way!!!!! Great food, large menu, great staff, and great music. An actual Greek family runs the place. It's perfect for families (kid's menu) or as a date/girl's night (they serve wine and beer). They have a take out menu too, so that's great for a quick option. They also have a lot of t.v.s so it would be a fun place to watch the game. Please support this local business! They get 5 stars all the way!

Great menu with a small personable setup. Tall tables to sit and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner with music and a tv for entertainment. Behind the grill is clean and the chef was very warm and welcoming. The gyro was a healthy portion with great tasting lamb and an enjoyable sauce. This is the type of place that fits perfectly in the area and will be around for a long time because they did it right. Wine and beer is also served.

Great food and so delicious I am coming back there at least once or twice a week. Very friendly and family restaurant. nice people nice service. but really really delicious foods of Gyrous, steak and shish kabob and flafel and appetizers, really very affordable prices , I love it.

Ive been here a few times and the food is always delicious. Definitely the best falafel I've ever tasted! The Philly Cheesesteak was perfection! Last time I tried the chicken souvlaki with Greek salad, rice and hummus, also great. I will be eating here often enough to try everything on the menu!

I have gotten take-out here a number of times and it has been good to my taste, though I have only eaten Greek food a couple of places in my life, so my expertise may be limited. I like the falafel which is light, tasty and not greasy. The hummus is far superior to versions I have gotten in super markets. The Greek salad and pita bread is liked by my whole family. My children like both the chicken and beef. Five stars if the service would be a little faster and my wives shish-kabob was somewhat undercooked on our last visit.

I tried this place getting some take out on Saturday night. I judge the Greek/Mediterranean food in the area by the Gyro House in the Commons mall, and I actually liked Gyro Grill better. I had the Gyro Platter which was a lot of food and affordable. It came with a greek salad, hummus, gyro meat and pita. The meat was juicy and delicious and the hummus was tasty too. The chef even asked if I wanted it spicy (I find myself adding cayenne or chili powder often for a kick at home to the Gyro House platter which can be kinda bland). All in all great first experience and considering that it is minutes away from my house I will be back. and I'm looking forward to trying out what else they have on the menu.
