Great friendly, efficient service. Loved the Chips and Salsa and the waiter offered more. Very clean and the food was ample and really good. Even though we're only in the area for a short time since we're full time R.V. people we enjoy checking out local businesses and returning when they deserve it. El Ranchon Family Restaurant well deserves our return business.

I'm a dyed in the wool Angelina, so I know my Mexican food. The food is a little bland here, but I believe they are trying to appeal to a white customer base who isn't used to spicy food. Not a problem, just something you should know if you're used to honest gosh, melt your face off Mexican food. Everything I've had here is good. The service is friendly, and I always have a good time. Chips and salsa are delicious, and they always spice my food up for me. This is my go-to Mexican food place when I'm in town visiting my parents.

Stopped by here on the way home from sea side and it was some of the plainest Mexican food. I ordered a taco that was stuffed with beans and nothing else (suppose to come with cheese and tomatoes). I asked for some tomatoes and cheese and they charged me 1.29. Besides the extra change for food they should have already put in it was so plain and boring. My boyfriend didn't like his enchilada either

Fast, friendly, and clean, this is a great pit stop on your way to or from Olympic National Park. Plenty of options, great homemade salsa, and a good kid's menu. Only tried the tacos al carbon at lunch but they were excellent.

El Ranchon is pretty good for tex-mex/American style Mexican food (in other words, don't expect authentic dishes here). Service is always excellent, food comes out fast & hot. Prices are decent, portion sizes are good. One of the best choices in Elma for a meal.

This is one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Grays Harbor. The other one is owned by the same family and is in Montesano, 10 miles west, and is called El Rancho. The food is authentic Mexican and is very consistant. The employees are very nice and the portion sizes are more than enough. If you want Mexican food this is your place in this area.

Excellent!!! I ordered a bowl of tortilla soup and was shocked at the size.. Huge! It was enough for two! Excellent, fresh salsa. Staff all helped each other. Highly recommend!

Maybe good Mexican for the area, but not as good as I am used to. The food is okay, but nothing to write home about. Didn't use the rest room. Decor is nice, wait staff is okay, salsa with chips is different.

A great place to go for mexican food in the small town....but only if you're easy going. They got all three of our orders wrong, but the food was good. The chips and salsa actually are pretty awesome like some of the other reviewers mentioned.

So for dinner my best friend and I decided to walk through Elma and see what our choices were. We found El Ranchon Family Mexican Restaurant. The moment you walk in you feel the Mexican atmosphere and smell the amazing Mexican food. I ordered the Enchilada Ranchon and my friend ordered the Burrito Ranchon. Both were amazing. We also ordered a mango margarita and a loco drink with our dinners. The drinks were just as amazing! Honestly in Hawai'i we don't have all that great Mexican food. So when I go to the mainland I always try to find a Mexican restaurant because it is always much better than at home.

The best Mexican food in the Harbor (I have eaten Mexican food all over WA, I can't recall anyone beating El Ranchon in my mind) Food is great, portions are large, comp chips and salsa are yummy, good fast service and prices are fair. Highly recommend to anyone passing though the Elma area.

We were on our way out the coast, and needed to find a place to eat lunch somewhere west of Olympia so I checked Yelp to see what options we had. I saw the stellar reviews of this place, so we stopped to check it out. The service was good, as was the atmosphere. The kids enjoyed the coloring page. Great tasting salsa. The food though, was not as good as we expected from what others had said. If you are used to eating at Tacos Guayamas in the Seattle/Tacoma area (we frequent the Tacoma location), then you might be sorely disappointed. The chicken was a bit dry and the chalupa I got had a soggy bottom so there was no way to pick it up without it falling apart.

The short: the service is prompt and friendly. The portions are more than adequate. The chips are fresh and refilled often and are served with salsa and pico de gallo. The food is delicious!

We have been eating there since the day it opened. The chips and salsa are made fresh every day. The staff has not changed much over the last 15 years (i think it's been that long) Many locals eat there because of the excellent food and service. The owners are from Mexico, so the food is authentic, but Americanized for our palates. Portions are reasonable. Not too big, not too small. Prices haven't gone up too much over the years and I have had friends from Mexico dine there with us and they love it.

I love this place! Their Spinach Enchilada is the bomb! Excellent, friendly, fast service, great prices, comfortable atmosphere, and good stiff drinks. If you are in the mood for mexican food or just passing through and aren't sure where to dine, you won't go wrong here. GREAT PLACE!!!!

Pretty good food and prices are very reasonable. They also have fast service and complimentary chips and salsa which are very good.

This is a surprisingly good restaurant. The fajita burrito was freshly cooked, loaded with vegetables, and the whole beans were done nicely, not complete mush and not crunchy. Generous portions but not overwhelming.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
