Love this place. Atmosphere and customer service . Love the beachy decor too. The owners are wonderful people. Caring and wonderful to the communities they open in :)

Delicious food and generous portions. Service was quick, staff was friendly, prices were reasonable. Great breakfast spot!

Yummy food! Breakfast was great with yummy Crepes! Not good for groups. Too small. Nice intimate couples place!!

Great place to get breakfast or even lunch.

They had cookies while you waited which was great. The portions were huge and they had a bomb mango mimosa. Service was good for how insanely crowed this place was. Both times I have seen it the line has been out the door.

We have been here twice now, and while the food and menu selection is strong, both times I couldn't believe how much we ended up paying for breakfast. $50+ for two adults and a toddler seems like a lot, even though portions are large. I'll be exploring other breakfast spots in the area before returning again.

I had the swedish pancakes which were wonderful the bacon was good more chewy than crispy though. My server (blonde, name unknown) seemed stressed out and angry which definitely showed in her face. If it weren't for her this would have been five stars.

Came here for brunch after my workout at Yost Pool. I asked if I could sit outside and they were able to accommodate me. The server took my drink order, a Mango Mimosa and then I ordered the Baja Scramble with potatoes and an English muffin. The food was really tasty and the portion was large. The price was a bit higher than what I usually pay for breakfast, but I don't regret it. I would definitely come back again.

The menu was very diverse and delicious. It's taken me over a year to try this place because of their limited hours. Service could have been better and it is very noisy even without a lot of other diners.

The experience we had today was absolutely terrible. If you have a group larger than 4 you will be screwed over. We made reservations a week in advance for a party of 11. When half of our party showed up a little early they said they wouldn't seat us until our party was all there. We had a couple people coming from Puyallup and Tacoma that were about 15 minutes behind schedule and instead of being patient or understanding they decided to give away our table even when I told them that our party was parking. 2 minutes before we were all standing in front of the establishment. If they had waited just two more minutes they would have had happy customers but they chose to break off our reservation and mess up the day of 11people. This is the worst service I've experienced in Edmonds. It is normal for large parties to have people lagging behind. The fact you wouldn't even seat us for drinks or anything was unacceptable. I suggest if you are coming to Edmonds for breakfast you go down the street to Clair's who had better food and sat us in 10 minutes.

This is such a joyful place to eat. Although we have never had lunch here, (the lunch menu sounds terrific), we love breakfast! Comfort food prepared with a touch of greek flair in many of the offerings. Food helpings genrous, You cannot be disappointed. Service is outstanding as well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the location in cute little Edmonds makes it nearly impossible to get in on the weekends! :( especially in the summer. months. I wish it was bigger. Such a busy little community.

Great food. Server wasn't very friendly. Outdoor seating was nice but the tables were quite small. I will come back here again for the western omelet.

Good food, good proportions, but over priced and the servers are pushy. Each time we have gone, the servers have tried to push the alcoholic special (my sister and I don't drink) and then seemed miffed when we just ordered coffee or tea. The food is pretty heavy on the starch and skimpy on the protein and veggies. The homemade desserts are good and their non-alcoholic specialty drinks (like the blueberry lemonade and ice coffee) are wonderful, but these don't make up for the prices of the meals and the service.

The food was good today and they honored our large party Mothers Day Reservation, however the kid is menu is not good.....and the server was quite rude and unfriendly. Service is a huge thing for us.....so I am not sure I will he back

Great breakfast--quality and quantity both exceeded our expectations. Coffee was smooth and well complemented by real cream. The biscuit and gravy side order was the best I have had in this side of the Mason-Dixon. The strawberry crepes were fresh and not to sweet. We'll definitely be returning next time we are in the area

Was here for breakfast a few weeks back - passion fruit mimosa was delicious, omelette was super tasty and the service was excellent. I cannot wait to come back and try more!

My sister and I went here for lunch last Saturday after going to the Art Festival and before the Farmers Market and we were disappointed. My sister had an omelet and their special potatoes and the potatoes were so greasy. I had the crab club sandwich and it was fine but sad that the bottom bread was soggy, so I just skipped that piece and ate it open faced. We both had a cocktail and our meals, split the check and it came to $28 per person for an ok lunch. I won't be back.... I didn't hate it, our waitress was nice but for the price the food was not worth it. I would rather go to Anthony's for the price and better view.

The ambiance is great. I think my waitress' name was Trish or teresa(Im awful w/ remembering names). But, she was really great and not overpowering with her service. Food came out at appropriate times and was absolutely amazing! Thanks so much for a great lunch!

I had their wonderful Seafood Louie yesterday and was impressed. There was a decent amount of crab, something most restaurants scrimp on in favor of 95% shrimp. Not so at the Edmonds location. The Louie dressing was folded in and not overwhelming. I expected a bowl of glop to add myself, but the salad came ready to enjoy. Thanks to our waitperson, Brittany, for being very friendly, helpful, and efficient during a busy time.

I've gone to the Rusty Pelican in Wallingford several times over the years and now you can get the same food in Edmonds. The atmosphere is rustic seaside and if you visit this makes sense. Service is attentive, portions are large, prices are decent. Plates range from $10-13 with some of the Benedicts topping $15-16 (ouch). However, the breakfast platters are big enough to share with the toast or pancakes which accompany most of the orders. I had the Monterey Scrambler ($11.25) and it was very good. Great value for the three egg scramble with cheese, bacon, mushrooms, artichokes, and tomatoes, two thick slices of bread and a fruit bowl on the side. The fruit was excellent. The strawberry, cantaloupe and honeydew was all sweet and perfectly ripe. They are known for their homemade desserts which are on display for your temptation. To my delight they serve heavy cream with coffee here like they do in the Wallingford location. Setting is very calming and it gets very busy on the weekends. Rusty Pelican is a great addition to Edmonds. I'm glad to see them in the neighborhood and I hope they're successful. I'll definitely be back!

I was with a group of about 20 (ladies and kids) last Sunday. We had a reservation for such a large party and we were well taken care of. The restaurant was pretty packed on Sunday around 11a. Portions sizes were huge and there was a large variety of breakfast and lunch items. I'd definitely recommend trying this cafe/restaurant!

Ok here I go: I've been here 3 times now, and every time the host guy screw us up, if you ask him the wait time, he will always tell you it will be 30 minutes, and every time I had to wait 1 hour, I mean wtf!?? You have one job and you suck at it! I can't believe you cant estimate the wait time for the customers! Today after waiting 1 hour I approach him to ask him how much longer and his reply is "theres 3 parties ahead of you, so maybe like 30 more minutes" are you f****ng kidding me? You really need to find another job, because obviously you are doing it wrong.

Used Google Maps to look for a place to get breakfast after catching the ferry over. Found this place. Jackpot!!!. Besides having to wait 20 minutes to be seated due to it being very busy the food was unreal. We all had omelets and they were over 2 inches thick and came with handmade guacamole, salsa, and sourcream. Our meals also came with a huge serving of hashbrowns and choice of bread whether it was toast, english muffin, biscuit, or gourmet muffin. My mom got the gourmet muffin and it was huge, glazed and came with fresh whipped butter. I went for the biscuit which was the size of a grapefruit, was moist, flaky and came with fresh raspberry compote. Definitely recommend this place if you're craving an amazing breakfast. 5 stars all the way.

Love this place. The food is delicious and the décor is very fun and beachy, feels like you're on a two hour vacation! Their breakfast potatoes are out of this world. Highly recommend this place! The only complaint I would have is it can be a little pricey for what you're actually getting. But overall this place is a real treat!

  • Sarah V.

The food is okay, but I really don't know what the hype is about. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The best thing I had was the blueberry pom mimosa. It was damn good! Their mimosa selection deserves a special mention because there are like 6 or 7 flavors and boy are they yummy! Everything else I had was just meh. We stuck with the breakfast menu and it was just lacking. Too much lemon curd on the crepes and too much breading on the country fried steak. Potatoes were flavorless and eggs were pretty oily. The pancakes were good though.

Came here on a Thursday afternoon at just past noon with my two young girls after seeing the Nutcracker at the Performing Arts Center just down the street. We were seated immediately and the waitresses were very friendly. My girls loved that breakfast was served all day and they both got the kids meal pancake and bacon and a hot chocolate. The pancake comes shaped like a bear face with chocolate chips and whipped cream. They thought it was quite cute and ate everything. I had the Dungeoness crab eggs benedict and it was yummy. Given some of the mixed reviews I was cautious but it really was delicious with lots of crab and some great potatoes on the side. I ate every single bite! I felt it was a good value for the food ($34 with tax/tip) and would come again to try some other dishes.

Great food that all has home made quality. Friendly staff and a classy beach decor, professional clothing on staff and clean. Very impressed by quality and quantity of food! Monte Cristo is AMAZING!

  • Vera C.

Food was good and was of good quality. I am giving it only two stars because we were treated with absolutely no respect. We had to wait more than an hour and half and then were told it might be another 20 minutes. Watched several people that had come much later seated before us. When we first arrived we were told it would be 20 minutes. I'm not sure I would go back, there are too many places that can compete.

We were looking for someplace different for breakfast, and just happened to stop by this place. It was, fantastic. In spite of being extremely busy because of Easter Sunday, the service was excellent. The banana nut coffee cake came first, and we were immediate converts. Light, tasty, and heavenly. The Bloody Mary and the Bunny Hop (it was Easter Sunday, remember) were great. We shared the Ole' egg scamble, and it's a good thing, because there was enough for four people. Couldn't resist adding an enormous light and fluffy biscuit, and then decided to throw caution to the winds and have the coconut cake. Everything was up to the same high standard. If you want to go someplace special, go to the Rusty Pelican.

ROCKSTAR service and huge delicious plates of yummy food in an adorable restaurant, in a beautiful location! I called in for a small group of girls and we were able to get our name on the list (since they close early it might be touch to get in a reservation the night before, so this is a great option). When our first girlfriend arrived they "activated" us on the wait list and we were seated within 10 minutes on a busy Sunday. They have a great selection of cold or hot specialty drinks which were delicious, and a great brunch menu. I am dying to go back and get a side of coffee cake, the biscuits also looked huge and fluffy. The crab benedict was delicious, highly recommend. Then came the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me at brunch - the waitress split the bill for us! I know it is hard to serve a group and I appreciate her taking the time to do this before we even asked - it really makes a huge difference to not sit around figuring out the check at the end of a meal - this really sets your restaurant apart from the rest! Don't forget to check out downtown Edmonds after or sit by the water if you feel like taking a post brunch nap, which you probably will with these delicious serving sizes.

Came here on a Sunday at around 11am for brunch. We expected a wait so we weren't too surprised when the host told us it'd be a 20-30 minute wait. After about 35 minutes of not hearing our name called, we checked back with the host and he said it'd be another 20-30 minutes. We ended up leaving 5 minutes later. As we were walking to the car, we heard the host call our name! Not sure if the host just felt like making us wait but it was ridiculous. Never coming back to this location again.

Amazing breakfast food. Everything is good. Great location to stroll Edmonds and a short walk to the water.

  • Keith S.

The price is high for the quality of the food. This is very average American diner cuisine, but for the same price could be eating anywhere in Edmonds and it would be better then this. Seriously, every one of the restaurants in this neighborhood is better then the Rusty Pelican and none of them have a line out the door. I have no idea what the hype is about for this place.

Great food, great service. My breakfast fave! If there's a wait, put your name in and stroll Edmonds. It's a great town!

My husband and I love to go out for breakfast on the weekends. I have been meaning to try this place for a while now and I am really regretting not trying it sooner. They were very busy when we got here but they got us seated quickly. The coffee was great ( good start) served with real cream! I ordered the special omelet and my man had the dungeness crab omelet. Both were huge portions served quickly. The service was extremely nice. We will be back!

I love the breakfast food here; the servings aren't too huge and the quality is always good. The restaurant is a good size but it's always loud, and the outdoor seating is cramped. Waitstaff vary from businesslike to friendly and it can take a few minutes to get seated in the early morning on weekends; the later in the day it is, the longer the wait. Parking can be difficult, but again, come early enough and there is plenty of space on side streets. You'll rarely find parking on the street right outside, so prepare for a walk of maybe a block. Edmonds is a cute town; you can sightsee as you go, window-shop and find places to stop by after you eat. I haven't been here 1) on a weekday or 2) for non-breakfast food, so I can't speak to those experiences, but they do a good mimosa with various flavor options and the bacon and sausage (mmm, breakfast meat) are delicious. The menu is fairly comprehensive and has some good combo options.

  • Kristi W.

We went during the lunch hour mid-week. We were seated immediately and had drinks in hand quickly. The waitstaff was very courteous and helpful. The restaurant was clean and open and not cluttered. If there was any waiting for a table however, there wasn't a lot of space to stand (esp if it was raining outside). The prices were reasonable and not to expensive. It seemed like we got exactly what we paid for and maybe even more! I would definitely go back again.

First time we ate here. Fish and chips was good. Coleslaw was too sweet for my wife but I liked it. My wife has the Gyro which I had a bite of. I say a bite because she would not let me have any more as she liked it so much. My mom and son had a burger. My sons disappeared before I took a bite of my food so I assume it was at least edible. We shared a homemade cake that was great. All is all it was a good meal. All 4 of us are for $60 including the tip and one shared desert.

I feel remissed to have never came here before. Holy poop, the wallingford salad is amazing.... as is the benedict, apparently, according to Skyla. The waffel breakfast was very nice, according to Ryan. However, the turkey wrap, was underwhelming according to Sue, but since that was not my dish, it is not factoring into my star rating. There's a lot of second hand information, but my primary data says I'll definitely be back.

    (5)
  • Shannon W.

I went with some friends of mine and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, the prices are too high for the quality of food that you get. I ordered a burger, which was dry and the salad was average or below. I am surprised at the positive reviews. Over priced, under quality.

We've been to Mill Creek and local at Edmonds location. On Sunday mornings, they get busy and servoce can be slow. The breakfast is always great and coffee is above average. Just wish they had an extra server to make orders and payment smoother

We are a local Edmonds business and we were looking for a casual place to hold a retirement party. The Rusty Pelican was the perfect choice. We were able to have a private party after hours and they catered the menu to our needs. The food was fantastic and the staff was just wonderful. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place for a special occasion.

I really want to like this place. Have eaten here twice before writing a review. Both times were marginal. Food wasn't great. Both times I wished I'd just stayed home and saved my money. Service was pleasant.

Went here with my cousin today and it was a nice place with ok prices the staff was great and made sure my coffee was filled order the farmer breakfast and it was big and filled me up quick she had the combo plate with the swed pancakes and loved it I would say you are safe ordering anything here even the cratpes look good

My favorite breakfast place in Edmonds! Their portions are the perfect size for the price. It is always delicious. The waffles are nice and fluffy. And the fruit is always fresh. The salmon Benedict is to die for! The fish tasted freshly caught and the Smokey flavor made it even more delightful. The staff is always friendly and very attentive. I will definitely be back again!

I had an average breakfast here. I ordered the eggs benedict, and an Irish hot chocolate. The hot chocolate would have been way better had I had it with my food. My food took a very long time. My friend ordered pancakes, which I am pretty sure don't take 30 minutes. The food was good, but not great, service was so-so, but we waited a long time. We could have had a similar experience at IHOP and payed less.

  • Debbie W.

I've been to Mill Creek location and was impressed with their food and service. I will probably not visit the Edmonds location again. The host was very friendly, but our waitress, Bonnie, was very rude.. We ordered fries with my nephew's kids meal, but it arrived with fruit instead. We kindly asked if he could have fries and a few minutes later she brings a huge side of steaming hot fries for a 1 1/2 year old kid our and did not even say one word to us. She tacked the side of fires on to our bill as well. She also plucked up our plates as we finished without one word. I saw her treat other customers in the same manner. The food was ok, but not worth the expensive price for such poor service.

The Rusty Pelican DOES NOT disappoint!!!!! Six of us tried it for breakfast on a busy Saturday morning with the farmer's market right outside. We were surprised to only have to wait a couple minutes to get a great table in the back. The service was quick & courteous & the waitress checked back with us often. The Bloody Marys are TO DIE FOR!!! I coulda drank a couple more of those, but the real treat for me was their homemade corned beef hash!! This stuff is the real deal!!! My entire group was impressed with their meals including portion size & flavor. I'll definitely go back & I look forward to trying their lunch menu.

Rusty Pelican is a decent breakfast/brunch place. Food is good, coffee is always good and price is fair. A few things could be improved on however. 1) the Servers could be a little Friendlier. They do good work and I know they are busy but a lot of the time they just are not "Friendly". Yesterday we had a newer Server, Shannon, and she was excellent. Fast service, friendly disposition, smile. A breath of fresh air for this place. 2) the front entrance. Two doors beside each other. The center door opens directly into the Hostess station. I mean two feet away and it gets really jammed up. Please move the Hostess station to the second, angled door where there is enough room to actually welcome Guests in. This is also where the "waiting" section is so it makes more sense. 3) again about the doors but this time I mean the freezing arctic blasts that come through the place when the center door is opened. It makes it pretty uncomfortable when one needs to wear a coat and hat while trying to enjoy a meal. Is this their method for keeping Guests from lingering after they eat? I suggest closing the center door and use only the angled door off to the side. This won't keep me from eating there but it might bring me back more often.

We we're devastated when the Pelican in Seattle closed. Finally though we made the trek to Edmonds because sometimes you just really need a milkshake served with breakfast! I generally stick to egg dishes and the man only ever has country friend steak. But in the million times we've been we've never been disappointed in anything that comes off the menu. And no matter how busy it is, the service is alway friendly and prompt. I did like the beach-y decor of this locale, But I really miss the "I'm at grandmas house" feel of the Seattle branch. Soon we'll venture to check out the Mill Creek one!

My husband and I just ate here for the first time and we will be back sooner rather than later! Our whole experience was fantastic from when we walked in the door to when left full and satisfied! ....Btw, I should mention the owner is a baker and the bread served on the side with my oatmeal was the highlight of out meal....they sold us a loaf upon request!!!!!

Rusty Pelican is a great addition to the downtown Edmonds dining scene. We've been fans of their Wallingford location for years, and were glad to see them open a location more locally. In addition to delicious, filling breakfasts, my favorites are their salads. Not many diners really pay attention to salads anymore, but there are several great choices on the menu. My favorite is their lighter twist on a cobb salad with a vinagrette dressing.

The Rusty Pelican has everything needed to succeed. The location, for one, is great. It's located in downtown Edmonds just blocks from the beach but also off the beaten "downtown" path that there's plenty of parking to be found within walking distance. With how insane the wait can be at Pancake Haus down the street, I had fully expected there to be a wait time. But even on a beautiful Saturday morning they kept steady business without making many (if any) people linger long for a seat. In the event you do need to wait, there's a comfortable looking bench waiting for you to the right of the door. The service was quick, attentive and professional. The wait to receive our orders seemed to take hardly any time at all. And the food! It was delicious. I ordered the Farmers Market Omelette (hold the Avocado) which was loaded with fresh veggies and swiss cheese. I didn't need to add much s&p or Tabasco to it, which is a good sign. I also appreciate that you are allowed the option of getting fresh fruit instead of hashbrowns (though I will need to return to sample those). I highly recommend anyone in the north-end to try Rusty Pelican's Edmonds location. You won't be disappointed!

It's difficult to find truly great breakfast in the Lynnwood area, so I venture out a bit. Rusty Pelican is pretty darned awesome. The dungeness crab benedict is very tasty. Their selection of eggs benedict is great and they're pretty darned kid friendly too. My daughter and I had a great experience there and will be back! I'm a big fan of their bloody mary's too. Great spot in a great location!

It is a rare day indeed when I get to write a fabulous review about a restaurant with exceptional food exceptional service and really really good coffee. I was so moved that I even grab the owner and said look you don't understand I don't give great reviews because there's no great food and he just smiled and said thank you very much and then the manager came over and asked " just how many bad reviews have you written ? " I said more than you can think and she thanked me for telling her ! The only issue I have is I will have to drive 50 miles one way to get fabulous crab omelette with hollandaise sauce that so stinking amazing! Mind you my buddy and I had to wait 25 minutes on a Saturday afternoon but it was so worth it!

My husband and I rarely are in town visiting my parents, so when we had a free morning to head out to downtown Edmonds, we decided to try a spot that Yelp recommended. We chose this place amongst the rest due to the number of reviews and the great suggestions that we saw. I had the dungeness crab eggs benedict. Cooked to perfection, with a lot of real crab. Side of potatoes and fruit sealed the deal. My husband had the corn beef hash. It was unique. It wasn't what we had expected, but still good. Served with potatoes and pancakes. It was a lot of food, but surprisingly, we pretty much finished everything. Our waitress was kind and definitely did a great job staying on top of the breakfast rush. She even offered to give us our refill of coffee to go. Most places wouldn't do that. The only negatives were the at it was a bit overpriced and the coffee was not good at all. It was a bit burnt, but still good value and necessary for a hearty meal. Overall, we would recommend it.

DH, Sis and I recently made the mistake of trying this place on a Sat. before the Seahawks game. I will echo what others have said, i.e., entryway is teeny tiny and people need to stand outside to be able to fit everyone who needs to stand in line to wait for a table. Waited probably a good 15 minutes or more, which was curious considering there was an open table in the middle of the room and one at the back of the room in a little nook-like thing. Then, we get seated. Guy brings water. No offer of coffee, juice, etc. Waited another 10 minutes for someone to come by to ask us for coffee. Then waited about 5 minutes to GET the coffee. Lord.........really? Place is so jam packed crowded together that wait staff are actually running into each other or trying to avoid same. I ordered the potato pancakes, which I love. Only these, upon first bite, tasted like they had just come out of oil that was used to fry fish. They were flavorless after I got over that awful taste. DH and Sis said theirs was each ok. None of the food was hot. Which I just don't understand with restaurants. Don't YOU want to eat hot food? It is extremely LOUD in this place. And what took the cake, is when tables were set for a family that included small children, i.e., baby-types. Which is ok, but when a woman whips out her boob to breastfeed and my husband gets an eyeful - that is NOT ok. I thought there was a law saying you h ad to cover yourself? Or doesn't decency at least demand that? Common courtesy perhaps? Feel the restaurant should've said something. Don't know whether we'll go here again or not. Plenty others to try.

Just as good as the one in Mill Creek, if not better!! Great service and fabulous breakfast & lunch. I showed up right as they opened at 8am and the entire restaurant filled up in no time. Our food came out so fast too. This places makes me want to eat breakfast every day.

First time trying out this nifty breakfast place..... there used to be a wine bar in this location, and I didn't know it had changed hands. I had friends visiting so I did a quick i-net search on the best Edmonds' breakfast joints & this one popped up & I wanted to try out something new myself. I checked out their menu online, as one of my friends is a vegetarian & the menu seemed to hold something for all. When we arrived (prime Sunday brunch time.... 11:30am) we were told a 15 min wait to be seated, which was pretty much spot on, and not too bad truly (word must be finally getting out about this place!). It was well worth it! Great service (our waitress was so sunny & friendly!), food arrived pretty speedy for how packed it was, coffee poured quite often & everyone enjoyed their dishes immensely (my vege friend ordered a "vege bene" and she said it was oh-so-good, I partook in the Popeye Omelette which was total yum.). A great litttle place for weekend brunch in the Edmonds area for certain.

Cute space and convenient location in downtown Edmonds, but has some BIG obstacles to a great dining experience. First of all the acoustics are horrible! I've never been in a worst space in this regard. Sound bounces everywhere and it's hard to hold a conversation or even a two word sentence with someone that is seated right next to you. It's a small space the entryway is claustrophobic and the middle section of tables is crammed into a row of four tops that should only be two seater tables. The menu is way too big, and the prices are about 30 percent higher than other restaurants in the area. If the food and ambience and service were incredible they could possibly justify the its but that's not the case. The food isn't bad, but nothing special. Except for the French fries, which appear to be home made, thin, crispy and skin on. There were some salads in the menu that sounded good, but 16 bucks for lunch when I'm crammed into the middle of a space and I can't even hear myself think? Nooooo thank you!

Came in on a Saturday around noon. Seated after a 5 minute wait. Food: S/o had eggnog french toast which was quite tasty, but my food was another story. I got an omelet with potatoes and biscuit. I hate when places do not season their eggs, the omlete tasted like a whole lot of bland nothingness because there was NO salt and NO pepper added to it. I added my own of course, but it just isn't the same as having it dissolved into the egg. The veg was fresh though! The biscuit was good but had a strange texture--more bread like than biscuit like.... had good jam! The potatoes were fine--suffering from the same lack of seasoning. +0 Ambiance: Nice, clean, smallish place. Some tasteful sea-related decorations. I think some of the tables would be less pleasant to sit at than our booth, but all in all, no complaints!. +1 Service: Great! Despite being busy, she was attentive with my drink refill, food, and check. Self-serve water on the table is always a fantastic idea! +1 Convenience/Price: Price seemed reasonable for the portion size, very convenient just off Main in Edmonds. Lots of street parking available nearby.. +1 Other Factors of Awesomeness: Nope. +0 -- I'd probably give this place another shot and just remember it's short comings and choose something that wasn't egg heavy.

I thought this restaurant would be as good as the one in Seattle. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the Eggplant Parm. It was soggy, barely warm and I couldn't eat it. I haven't been back since. The reason most people can get a table is that many of us won't go back.

I've been to the Wallingford location for breakfast several times and, for me, this one is even BETTER! The restaurant is in a prime spot, right next to all the cute little shops in downtown Edmonds and fits right in with the chill atmosphere. The inside has sort of a beachy feel, with a warm and inviting ambiance. I scanned the entire restaurant, from the beautiful chandelier to the servers station stocked with condiments, and everything looked so impeccably CLEAN. Service was fantastic and our server was on top of everything! She made suggestions, offered substitutions, and was very friendly. Coffee was always filled to the brim (served with real heavy cream!) and condiments were always at hand before even having to ask. The food was also great! The boyfriend had Nutella and banana crepes that were served on a HUGE platter! We actually ended up taking a whole crepe home, the portions were so big. I had the country fried steak, which was seasoned well and served with a thick, hearty sausage gravy as well as a side of potatoes and eggs. Again, VERY generous portions. I have zero complaints about my experience here and will definitely make this a must-stop spot whenever I'm shopping in this area.

Brunch was a sorry excuse for a meal. Though the wait staff is friendly, the food was dismal enough to cross this one off the list. Tasteless and not fresh are kind words to describe the lack of cuisine here.

Yummy breakfast - I had the corned beef hash and it was delicious. Honestly, this one here in Edmonds has a better atmosphere. I cannot wait to try the dinners. Prices are a little too much.

OMG. The breakfast is HUGE and amazing. The owner has trained the cooks fabulously. I've never had potatoes so good in my life! Restaurant pancakes are usually "box" tasting - these are subtly that, but not like Ihop's "from a box" taste. Very yummy! SO worth it. Sit outside if you can, Edmonds is a beautiful place.

What a great addition to my town. My daughter and I finally got a chance to eat here last Saturday while attending the Edmonds Saturday Market. We actually got a table outside which was great since it was 80 degrees out and it was fun to enjoy a great meal while people watching. I found the staff to be very pleasant and attentive and the service was top notch. My daughter (12 yrs old) ordered the chocolate chip pancakes which seemed to have a good layer of chocolate in the middle. I'm not really sure how this was pulled off but it was a beautiful thing to behold. I tried them and they were good. I really wanted to have the bacon (I heard they have good bacon) but I have been experimenting lately with corned beef hash. It arrives with home fries and nice thick toast and two large eggs. It was very good with large chunks of corned beef. The only thing I thought was funny was the fact that the hash wasn't really browned at all. Isn't it supposed to be kind of crispy?? this was loose but still delicious. The prices were fair. I will definitely come back and can't wait for them to start dinner service!

Loved it. Enjoyed Rusty Pelican so much we ate here a second time on our way back to SeaTac. The food is good and fresh, the service is good, and the coffee (served with heavy cream) is amazing. They were really helpful regarding my allergies and got me just what I needed.

While I have only experienced mainly the breakfast part of this delighted restaurant, I am a definite fan of this "birdie" restaurant. The little town of Edmonds has some neat places to check out, and the Rusty Pelican is a definite spot if you're looking for some good breakfast to start a good morning for yourself. The food is reasonably priced. I've ordered the strawberry yogurt crepes, crab meat eggs benedict, and lemon ricotta pancakes. The food has a wonderful presentation and have good portions. Easily shared between two people. The one thing I can't help but feel dissappointed about is the servers. They are nice but seem to lose tract of who they are serving. I understand if there are lots of customers, but I never really felt like I was waitered. Many times I had to call for them to take my order. But I am overall a happy "rusty" pelican follower

I met a friend for breakfast at The Rusty Pelican in Edmonds, I had the Dungeness crab omelette. The omelette had about three pieces of crab in it. Disappointed, it was $19.95 for an omelet and a cup of coffee. The staff was friendly ,and the atmosphere was nice.

I have only had breakfast here but the food is great. The menu is very comprehensive and they focus on little things like the cream for the coffee and the quality of jam/jellies, etc. This place is not however free of the typical service issues of a popular breakfast place on the weekend. It is not set up to accommodate many large parties on a moments notice, which should be obvious to everyone (except a large party or two). I don't know about the other reviews with regard to breakfast. There is a sister business in Seattle and that place does great breakfast as well. I cant imagine egg's like shoe leather or something like that, it simple doesn't make sense considering the quality product they consistently produce. This is a great breakfast place and is worth a visit.

On Nov. 28 I wrote that you shouldn't go there alone. Immediately after writing that review, I was contacted by Stacy G who is a member of the family that owns the restaurants. She showed great concern and assured me that they would correct the situation. She also sent me a gift certificate for the next visit. That visit occurred yesterday. Before I went, I checked their web site and they now suggest that you call no more that 30 minutes ahead if you are a party of 5 or less and there is an suggested time to call and reserve a table if you are party of 6 or more because they are always very busy. I called when I was about 15 minutes away. I went with a friend of mine and when we arrived, they had somebody stationed right as you enter to take names. While that entry area isn't big, having somebody there as you walk in is an excellent idea. Yesterday it was Santa. After telling Santa that I had called ahead, it wasn't very long (less than 10 minutes) before we were seated. I have never had a problem with the food as it is excellent and yesterday was no exception. Unless you have a huge appetite and clean your plate, you will be taking food home. They have generous portions and the food comes to your table hot, even though this is a very, very busy place. Thank you Stacy G for contacting me and sending me the gift certificate. I will be back and I will remember to call when I am on my way to shorten the wait time.

Amazing food! Service is always very pleasant and food is delicious no matter what I get. Have had the crab Benedict and it's my favorite by far, especially with a nice Bloody Mary or mimosa. The yogurt parfait is so tasty if you want something non heavy but filling. And the two egg breakfast is another go-to for when I want something simple. And on the days I'm watching what I eat, the poached eggs with fruit are delicious. Truly you can't go wrong with any breakfast. And keep an eye out for when they start serving the iced coffee. It is so good it's like dessert!

Stay away from the crepes! The crepes here are a thinned out version of an omelet. A large quantity of nutella can make almost everything better....almost! Needless to say, I threw out my lunch.

Great food. Service need help, however. Maybe adding an extra waitress would help with the lack of attentiveness. The waitstaff is overworked and that to me leaves the overall experience less than desirable. Management need to step up and not be so lazy. The other location suffers the same.

Sunday lunch with the girls. Have never been here before, the wait time was RIDICULOUS and the staff was not concerned we were about ready to walk out. The We had to flag down the waitress and she was less than attentive. The food was good, but not worth going back. There are plenty of other places to eat where my business will be appreciated.

I have lived in Edmonds most of my life. It's so great to see so many great restaurants in town now! I can't believe I have waited this long to go to the Rusty Pelican for breakfast. The food and service was A-1. I had a Belgian waffle and my partner had the special of the day. Both were very tasty. And the portions are huge. We ended up taking home have of the egg scramble special. I also like the fact you could actually hear the person talking across the table from you. There are other restaurants in town that are so loud it really takes away from the fun of going out. If you are looking for a great breakfast and service (have not been there for lunch) in Edmonds, put this on your list.

We were there for the Edmonds Car Show. The show ends at 5:00 PM and the Rusty Pelican closes at 3:00 PM. Stupid planning. We showed up at 2:45PM and asked if we could still get an order in, they said as long as we order before 3:00. So we ordered at 2:50. Our salad came, before we could finish they were pushing our salad plates out of the way to make room for the Reuben Sandwiches. They were also taking and changing out the salt and pepper shakers as we were eating. The food was good the help was not.....

We really enjoyed our breakfast this morning! Everything was delicious and fresh made to order, even the bloody mary. Nice touch was when the bartender, maybe is also a manager, came over to check on how everything was, including our drinks. My only complaint was the homemade biscuit. It was very dense making it hard to swallow and the strawberries seemed to be thawed instead of fresh making them a syrup like soggy texture. It won't stop me from coming back again! If the biscuit is light and buttery, I'll give them that 5th star right away!

First of all, I don't award 1 star ratings just for the effect. This place earned it. The only positive aspect about this place was the decor and ambiance -- which was nice, although not spectacular. Myself and my family went here hoping for a great new spot in Edmonds. Upon arriving, the first person who greeted us was non-engaging, appeared annoyed and did nothing to make any of us feel welcome or excited about being there. We wanted to eat outside but when we tried to order wine, they informed us that it was against city law to serve wine on the sidewalk. Admittedly, this was not the fault of the restaurant, but the waitress seemed to take personal offense to the fact that we were disappointed by it. Saying things like, "There's nothing I can do about it", and in general maintaining a poor, unprofessional service-industry demeanor. We moved inside to circumvent the outdoor alcohol policy and we had to switch waitresses. The bread that came before the meal was probably the best part of the experience. The second waitress was pleasant but slightly impersonal and was not engaging or welcoming other than what seemed minimally appropriate. She had little to no personality and was very unaffected at any attempt at levity or conversation. All of us got salads and sandwiches. I ordered a BLT, and my folks got the San Francisco Melt and a zucchini sandwich of some kind. First, the salads... The presentation was mediocre. It was entirely made up of borderline ice-burg romaine, which is fine if you're a cracker barrel or denny's. We asked for the balsamic vinaigrette and they brought olive oil and balsamic for us to mix as we pleased. The tomatoes and lettuce tasted subpar and the balsamic lacked flavor. If you're going to serve all-romaine salads, it had better be a caesar or at least be the green, healthy part of the stalk. Mixed greens would have been a vast improvement in my opinion. The sandwiches arrived and the first impression was... "Oh no... This is it?" The most glaring problem across the board were the presentation and the bread. All the sandwiches were served with an unappetizing side of coleslaw and a pickle that looked like it had been physically assaulted by the su-chef. The San Francisco melt was a hot mess, so let me handle that one separately. The plating for the zucchini sandwich was terrible. The sandwich was quite small and the plate was huge. Leaving the sandwich looking awkward, lonely and unappealing. The bread was soggy and smashed leaving it looking very, very sad. Not only that, but the bread appeared to be bargain bin special, 99 cent hoagie rolls you get at the super saver store. Yuck. The vegetables were ok, but overcooked. The BLT was probably the best of the sandwiches, but still just the tallest dwarf in the circus. The bread was burned and looked again like a bargain bin loaf that someone left in the toaster too long. The sandwich tasted alright, but the bread just brought the whole thing down. The blue-cheese spread was barely noticeable. All in all, it was disappointing but not nearly as offensive as the other two sandwiches. The San Francisco melt. Where to start. What did San Francisco do to deserve this? Two pieces of sour dough bread, dipped in egg, grilled, with turkey, bacon, onion, avocado and tomato. Admittedly, it sounded very heavy, but with the right execution could have been a delicious, albeit artery clogging experience. The bread looked like it had been stolen from my elementary school cafeteria. It was borderline soggy and had a disgusting trim of charred egg. Removing the top piece of bread, however, revealed the monster inside. The preparation showed no evidence of any care (had the place been busy and/or really tasty, this might have been excusable). The onions, bacon avocado and tomato were all fighting for real-estate in the center of the sandwich. The tomatoes were over-ripe and over cooked, leaving them sad and soggy. The turkey looked like the butter-ball special. The bacon was disintegrating and uninspired, struggling for vitality under the weight of the overly heated lunchmeat. The whole thing added up to a bite that would go best inside your napkin. Anyways, I admit, I have gotten pretty animated. But after replacing a great restaurant like Olives, and charging us $50 bucks, I'm not pulling any punches. I hope this place either completely overhauls their experience or goes the way of the Buffalo.

Love all the Rusty Pelican Cafes!! Just ate the newest one Mill Creek and was wonderful, as usual! The food, wait staff and decor is a much needed addition to Mill Creek!! Hooray!! We have been eating at the RP restaurant for 12 years and are never disappointed!

It's a cute little restaurant right near the fountain in downtown Edmonds. I came here on a Saturday morning; parking was quickly found, I was seated promptly, and the waitress was professional and attentive. I ordered the Popeye omelet with potatoes and a house-made biscuit. Everything I had was really good. The biscuit is a must-have! I can definitely see this place getting really busy, but it didn't show at all. I rarely saw a wait for a table.

This was absolutely the NOISIEST restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to eat at. Everyone had to shout to be heard. The food was awful. At least the Santa Fe Breakfast burrito was dreadful - all potato and no flavor.

We went there for a late lunch. I thought the portions were pretty large and service was great. My salad was probably the best part (try the Greek vinaigrette!). My son got the chicken strips and I wouldn't get those again - they make them with panko breading and weren't your "normal" chicken strips, which for a kids menu item I wasn't expecting that. All in all, I enjoyed the place - nice atmosphere, very nice waitress, and in a cute part of town. I'd be interested in going back to try their breakfast items...I did notice they take reservations for breakfast which on weekends is a plus for any restaurant in my book!

Came for brunch on Saturday (they take reservations, advised for weekend brunches). I had combo #4, which was strawberry crepes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon strips (or sausage)...bacon strips were big. All the food was good. Other diners in my party had the bloody mary (said spicier than expected, but good), and chicken fried steak. The portions is substantial, about equal to the price paid ($10-$13/order). The space is larger than expected from when you look from the outside. Service was good, food was all great.

Rusty Pelican is a good addition to Edmonds for breakfast/brunch. I haven't tried any lunch items yet. My biggest complaint is the coffee - tastes like watered-down coffee you would have in the middle of nowhere at a very cheap diner - definitely out of place in this coffee-loving region. Upgrade your coffee, Rusty Pelican!

A wonderful place. In summary, a nice menu variety, prepared with care. Generous portions, not overly expensive. A nice, warm atmosphere and pleasant service. I've been on a number of occasions. Most recently went for lunch and enjoyed the gyro. Its obvious that the owners have a history with greek food, and I can sure tell. The meat was tender and flavorful, the pita was soft and substantial, the tzatziki was tasty and it had just the right proportions of vegetables and feta. Very tasty hand cut fries, and a nice salad comes standard with the sandwich. Plenty of really good food, and just over $10. Highly recommend.

My family has been here several times. Love the atmosphere, cleanliness and location. Food is good, portions are ample and now that the farmer's market is on the same street, it's great for people watching. However, I ordered what was described on the menu as fresh squeezed juice and received juice that was anything but. I juice frequently and know what it should look and taste like. I didn't like paying $3.95 for concentrate or being lied to by the waitress when I asked. No matter how much I liked the place, I was lied to by the menu and then the waitress. Heads up - folks in Edmonds are health conscious and know the difference between sugar juice and freshly squeezed so I would recommend changing what the menu says and educating staff.

Great spot. Had breakfast for lunch today and the pumpkin pancakes were outstanding. Love having breakfast available all day. The menu had many, many great-sounding items and I look forward to trying more of them. Service was excellent. The dessert display looked amazing. All "home made".

The Rusty Pelican is fabulous, if ever you have a problem let the staff know they will correct it, need more dressing, just ask. I've eaten at the Wallingford location since it opened 10 years ago. I only had two complaints over the years and both were promptly taken care of. Marilyn makes all the deserts (they are the best ever). The family takes great pride in making sure their customers are happy. I know they will be a fixture in Edmonds for years to come.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for a quick bite for lunch. We are not likely to return, at least for lunch. The breakfasts looked much better. We each got the soup of the day and half of a sandwich. The soup was vegetables and barley, but it tasted like barley water. My girlfriend didn't eat hers, but I powered through mine since I was pretty hungry. Her sandwich, the tuna melt, was mediocre at best and served on a super dry piece of bread. My reuben was soggy on the bottom and just so-so. The coleslaw was swimming in dressing and we both passed on that as well. Finally, the pickle, which I generally love, was pushed aside after one bite. Combined, we ate about half of what was served. We let the server know that we were not overly impressed with the food and she apologized, but did not offer to bring us something else. The service and ambiance though were great. I wish the food was better!

My husband and I had lunch at the Rusty Pelican yesterday. Today I spent time reading the reviews and just wonder if maybe I ordered to wrong items. But, first for the positives: nice, warm, inviting decor and a menu with an incredible list of options. My husband ordered Rusty's Skillet with a side of pancakes. He said the pancakes were only "okay" but he did like the skillet. I had a few bites and thought the skillet was pretty tasty. I ordered the soup/sandwich combo, opting for the lentil soup and the Fifth Avenue grilled cheese. These items came on a platter with a side of coleslaw, a bag of oyster crackers, and a pickle spear. The presentation was terrible: the soup had slopped out of the cup, leaving a wet mess all over the platter. Someone had put a cocktail napkin under the soup cup to sop up the soup. The big problem was that the entire under side of the grilled sandwich was sitting in the soup so it arrived completely saturated and soggy. The end result was an unappetizing grilled cheese sandwich. So, I thought that perhaps I could just scrape the veggies off the bread and eat them. The tomatoes were so ripe they were mushy. The only edibles on the sandwich were the zucchini and the spinach. The lentil soup was so salty, I could only eat about a third of the cup. (hard to believe that this is the same kitchen sending out food that someone else complained wasn't salty enough -- hey, anyone can add salt at the table, but if a dish is over-salted in the kitchen, there is nothing that can be done at the table to rectify that). And the coleslaw dressing had so much sugar in it that I couldn't eat more than one bite. We'd been excited to get a new restaurant in Edmonds. I'm reluctant to give this one a second try. Although, maybe their breakfast dishes offer more hope. So, less that a star for my food, but a couple of stars for the ambiance of the place and I think my husband would give it three stars -- yielding about a two star average.
