This is an awesome neighborhood gem!! Locally owned and always welcoming and friendly. Great bar food as well as full entries. Yummy salads! There's also a theatre attached that shows movies as well as comedy nights with a full bar! Great spot, always fun!

Atmosphere is top drawer, but food and service way below expectations. Poorly managed and understaffed the day we went--our waitress had too many tables. Couldn't take our order in a timely manner and couldn't keep our water glasses full, and my wife never got a refill on her iced tea. I ordered the special, beer battered prawns and the batter was uncooked in the middle and the prawns were not deveined, which is gross. The fries were very good, though. Didn't have a chance to complain because the waitress never returned to check on us. I suspect this place does a fine job under ideal conditions, but we got the food and service we got, hence the two stars.

Excellent food and atmosphere. We were looking for a new place in Burien and found this gem. The place had a totally chill atmosphere. They have nice choices on tap and a full bar. I ordered the chicken bacon and avocado sandwich. Somehow I ended up with the shrimp and bacon sandwich. I'm happy the mistake was made because the sandwich was delicious! The aioli sauce blended all of the flavors together. My mom's chicken and carmelized onion sandwich looked good and she said it was excellent. We'll be back for sure!

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Bald bartender only interested in familiar faces. To everyone else: "What can I get you?" then disappears. Very impersonal. Plus he lied about the price of the HH wings. (Menu: $1.95; Bartender: $5; Receipt: $12.95.) Didn't want to argue with him because he didn't seem to care. Food: I didn't even finish it. The wings were dry and peppery. Ranch dressing was obviously from a bottle. Drinks: (Margarita) Ever heard of simple syrup? Triple sec? Or do you think a margarita is just lime juice and tequila? (Manhattan) Who puts elderflower liquor in a manhattan? I give you credit for being bold, but ultimately it does not work.

I've found my latest favorite place in Burien for lunch/dinner/drinks. I heard about Tin Room quite a few months ago and just never checked it out - what a big mistake! Came by for dinner, parked just outside on the street and found the atmosphere inviting and staff treated me as I was a regular customer. Not knowing the menu, I was about to order a cheese burger and be safe to check out the quality of the menu. But, ended up asking what's the the best and got the recommendation for the carne asada that came with beans, rice, pico de gallo and some corn tortillas. Asked for my beer choices and found there's actually two bars in the Tin Room and the choices are different depending on the with bar. I ended up exploring and found a beer garden outside that would be great in the summer, a second bar and they have a mini theater where you can see a movie and have drinks. Back to the food, the carne asada was fantastic and had some Chicken Picatta that came with angel hair pasta that was also great. I also saw a few orders of some fish tacos that looked great with a heaping portion of fish and they have deep fried stuffed jalapeños that I have to try. We had a beer and then switched to some margaritas served straight up that were great where I had to have a couple of them they were so good. Anyway, I really liked the Tin Room and found it comfortable to spend a few hours here, the food was better than I would have expected and the service and staff were friendly, engaging and like I said treated me as I was regular customer. Tin Room has turned into one of my favorites and seems all the food is pretty solid where they have the normal flare and some buried gems in the menu. For Mexican, go for the burrito if you want lots of stuff and for the carne asada if you don't want to be completely stuffed. Speaking of stuffed, they have some stuffed jalapeños that are pretty spicy, be careful. Go for the chicken picatta or the jambalaya for some other hidden favorites. Now whats really cool is they have a special with $10 off ribeye steak on Tuesdays and there's a half off price of bottles of wine on Thursday nights. You can take quite a few visits to explore what you can find here. Last tip is get the margarita straight up in a martini glass instead of on the rocks, its so much better.

We've always had decent experiences here with the food and service, and have really enjoyed going to movies there since they added the theater. Unfortunately, the new trend at the Tin Theater seems to be over serving and then not doing much about complaints. Not sure we'll be going again.

Food is so-so. Drinks are great. Service is perfect!

The Tin room is the best place to eat on 152nd in Burien. Great service and fun environment. They have a back patio too! I almost always order the same dish. I usually do not ever order pasta, but this one is just too yummy! Try it with extra shrimp. Shrimp Scampi with lemon butter sauce, basil garlic, tomatoes and angel hair pasta.

In Burien? Really? Well, the answer is a resounding YES! Industrial chic meets fabulous food and great service, what is not to love? Began the meal with the bacon-wrapped dates which are brilliantly served with a lovely, little lettuce mix to cut the sweetness - yum! The place is charming, to say the least, but the food and service were fantastic! I must agree with Gary W,a fellow "yelper" when he commented on how welcoming the entire staff was to anyone who ventured in. Hurray! I cannot help it, I am a fan of great customer service! Oh, and rumor has it, according to my nephew, Jeff, who suggested this groovy venue, their cocktails are made with freshly squeezed fruit juice, clearly I will need to return to verify this happy possibility. And I haven't even seen the attached boutique theatre (which apparently has been known to host awesome Seahawks game-day events...how cool is that?). Looking forward to returning soon!

Old Town Burien is lucky to have a cool place called Tin Room Bar. Super friendly servers and welcoming atmosphere. My Coworkers love going here for Lunch! My Favorites usually consist of these 3 : -Classic cheeseburger with sharp Tillamook cheddar, lettuce, onions, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise. -Tuna salad melt with celery, capers, onion, mayonnaise, swiss cheese on grilled whole wheat. -True cod sandwich with iceberg lettuce, tartar sauce, chipotle aioli and tomato. Ask for a tour of their Movie Theater!

Its my first time coming here and the server was great, the food was great no complain and they serve fast and efficient.... The place overall not to load and good to have company over and talk.. I recommend this place big time.. Two times up.. I will keep coming back here..

This place is the perfect stop after getting off of an airplane at Seatac. Real cocktails that are under appreciated by the current generation and food that is created by somebody who gives a damn.

I always enjoy both the food and drinks at the Tin Room. It's a great little bar in downtown Burien with TV's to view Sports games, and a nice neighborhood place to hang with friends. The food consistently is good, my favorite is the Cajun Shrimp Tacos, but the burgers get great reviews from friends. The cocktails are always very tasty too, and they aren't shy with the alcohol.

super cute place with a very low key atmosphere. Fun bartenders and a nice selection on their menu. Definitely go for the crab cakes and the sliders!

Visited this place on a moderately busy Saturday afternoon recently. The food is decent and the atmosphere is great but our waitress was a real dud. Because of the recommendation of some locals, I'll give this place one more shot. However, I will not be waited on by this lady again. Anyone can have a bad day but she had zero personality and just didn't care. I don't know how management can allow this type of service unless business is so good, they don't care. There is too much competition to make me want to hurry back here.

    (2)
  • Allie M.

To be honest, this place has a great atmosphere, wonderful food, but unfortunately not always the best service. Particularly if you give a customer of yours a broken glass and they cut their mouth on that glass, you typically shouldn't charge that customer for said drink. It would be a very good idea to do whatever you can to correct the situation so that you do not end up with a nasty lawsuit on your hands. If the owner or manager is reading this, I would highly suggest that you consider investing in some proper training and guest satisfaction education for your servers. Just a suggestion though.

This is a great bar, great staff and food is good. The best time to go is for happy hour for the food.... 3 stars because I ordered the nachos (pretty small portion for the price) added carne asada (btw, there was barely any steak on there) total cost was $18 for freaking nachos!!!!

Wonderful Indie type movie theater. In-seat service with full bar drink menu and normal movie food fare. Comfortable seats and an intimate setting. Be sure to get there early to get tickets for a popular show. The dinner menu is great and the bartender makes a mean lemondrop.

I just love this place. Great food, cool atmosphere but not pretentious, fun and engaging staff, cool bar, clean bathrooms, music not too loud, and best of all they have a little movie theatre. Tin Room is quickly becoming one of my favorite places.

Like it - always have a solid menu with fish specials. Great staff, friendly space and good beers on tap. All around good place to go to in B-town.

This place is nice. Great food and reasonable prices. The pesto Alfredo is great or if just looking for a quick snack try the sliders. They have a nice theater as well with movies in regular rotation and major sporting events on game days. I would have rated 4 stars but the staff is decidedly unfriendly and seem disinterested in their own customers to a degree. This has been a common theme on my many visits both in the restaurant as well as the bar.

Me and my friend made a stop here after work one night for some nibbles and such. This is a nice, relaxing yet "feels alive" sort of place in Old Towne Burien. There's 2 bar sections split and a space in back with tables low & high. It's a cool place and good, dim lighting. My first visit a long time ago was a quiet afternoon at the bar. A good burger was had. This night was pretty good. We didn't plan on HH but because it was only 2 min away, whyyy not. We get the popcorn, steak burger, pizza(?) and fries. I get a Guinness beer, mmm... The waitress was good. Later, when I asked for the popcorn to-go (it had a neat and convenient 'popcorn movie container' and also big portion for $), she took it to for the box. I was a little slow to mention, 'can i keep it like that?' =/ Oh well! They also have a super neat theater in the back for 1 screen.

Great food, fantastic service! We were checking out the area and stopped in for lunch- they were so accommodating, our server was so nice and gave great recommendations- the manager Kelly was so sweet and have us advice about the area, told us all about the restaurant and their little theatre. They were such a pleasure! Food was also fantastic- the chicken sandwich was recommended by the server and she described it perfectly- mustardy, with Carmelized onions and Swiss- so good!! My husband had fish tacos- they would get a 4/5 (fish itself could've used more seasoning or blackened or something) - but the guacamole with it would be a 7/5 stars- so good! Also, great bloody Mary's! We will be back- what a great place with really exceptional staff!!

I've been coming here for a year or two now... Lunch only since its close to work. At 1 and 2 p.m. its usually pretty dead and you'll get fast service. As another reviewer mentioned there is a new waitress during the days, zero personality is an understatement. Luckily I'm usually in a rush and not looking for a long conversation but I have to admit I miss the old bar tender. As for the food its all be delicious with no complaints. I'm a sucker for the Philly even though its not remotely close to a traditional style one. Its still a good sandwich and a lot less greasy then a real one. The Burgers are good and they now serve normal home cut fries. I'm not sure if they still do but you use to be able to ask for their old style fries and they would cut them that way for you. Old Style is like chick potatoes chips. They were really good and I'm on the few that preferred them that way. All and All its a great place for lunch!

Great place great staff! You have to check out the movie theater if you come here very cool! The food is great here too! This is the place to come NOT 909! :)

I absolutely love the tin room. Amazing atmosphere and all their food is great! I usually get the fish tacos. Amazing Margarita's too!

We love this place. I've gone with everyone from kids to my grandfather to date night with the boyfriend and this place is dependably great. They use fresh fruit for their drinks, and everything I've ever tried (over the past 6 years!) has been delicious. If, for some freak reason, you're disappointed in your drink- tell them, they'll bring you another. The avocado BLT... I actually sit at my desk craving it. Love love love! But my favorite aspect of this place is the environment- it's comfortable, unintimidating, and friendly.

Drinks delivered while watching a movie. To my knowledge this is the only place in the Seattle area that does this and it's wonderful. I haven't sampled the food yet, but the drinks are top notch, and they where receptive when asking about custom mixed drinks.

Had a yummy dinner here. Chicken sandwich is amazing. Home made fries and chips! Their bar is unlimited in what they can do. Try the seahawks Skittle cocktail. .. Just like skittles!

Food is great, service is great. I can't wait to see a movie here sometime

  • Sonja J.

The food is very fresh, most of the portions are large enough but not so big it's a waste, although the salads always seem a little small, The meatloaf (they bring extra gravy if you want it) and chicken burritos are my favorites. It's a little narrow, so seating a large group can be tough. And it can get pretty loud. The cocktails are awesome though! Super fresh fruit juices (squeezed right there). We love the theater. ** UPDATE ** I upgraded the rating from 4 to 5 stars. We've been going consistently for a couple years now. I love the sidewalk seating in the summer the happy hour burger is only $7! The negative things I mentioned before still hold true, but everything I love about it makes up for those things. It's such a great neighborhood hangout.

  • Jim S.

This is a concept that should be used in how to run a neighborhood bar 101. Really good food. Really good service. Very good bar. Fair price. What more do you need?

Well, we walked in on a day where we had very few expectations. Deciding upon a seat at the bar, we were welcomed by a woman who was clearly the best bartendress in Burien. Mary Ellen. She was like a walking library of drinks. Mary Ellen is worth the trip alone. She is very observant and will make your experience worthwhile. She maintained a full restaurant and kept conversation going. Food was delish. Do it.

I really wanted to like this place... Arrived about 1:45 pm on a Sunday, there were a total of 4 people inside. My husband and I wanted to watch the Sounders game, which started at 2 pm. We were told that after the baseball game, they would switch it over. The Mariner's game was in the bottom of the 8th inning at the time. There are only 2 tv's in the place and they can only play the same station. Meanwhile, right at kickoff for the Sounders game another gentleman comes in and inquires about the Sounders game, and then another couple came in to watch it and right after them, another woman wanted to watch it, too. Still on baseball at this point. 1 couple of the original 4 people were obviously not watching the baseball game, but the couple at the bar were. At this time though (Sounders had already kicked off, I was following on Twitter) there were 6 customers waiting to watch the Sounders (who were up 1-0 against Portland!) and 2 actually watching the baseball game. We ordered 2 beers, and waited, and waited, and waited. Baseball takes f o r e v e r ! After 45 minutes if waiting for the Tin Room staff to switch it over, we closed out and left. We missed the entire first half of the game, waiting for a frickin inning and a half of baseball to end! The Mariner's game was still going. My frustration comes in when there are a majority of customers wanting to watch something else, and the staff's refusal to do anything about it. I get that this is not a sports bar, but simple math 6 is greater than 2 should have been used here. And also the Sounders are much more fun to watch than the Mariner's!

Excited to make this a regular spot....great service, enjoyed the outdoor patio, and really good food. One of the best red blends I've had in awhile too. Can't wait to go back!

Could not ask for better service and both of our meals were perfect, we had a few of their Margarita's and they were well worth the money. Would be back every week, if we lived in the area.

The owner is there a lot talking to everyone and making sure people are having a good time. I like this place a lot. There are a few food items I really don't care for, but I get have my regular plates I stick to. Great place!

  • David J.

I have been here multiple times. They are dependable for good sandwiches, but I have yet to get a decent salad from them.

    (3)
  • Diana O.

The food was mediocre, not worth the price. Plus, what I ordered was different on the menu than it was on the plate. Not a huge difference, but instead of avocado on my chicken tacos there was guacamole. Also it was a Seahawks game day, and deafeningly loud in the restaurant. As I am not a sports fan, this was a deterrent for me. I might go back for drinks, on a non-game day, but not for food.

I've been to the Tin room for lunch and dinner many times and loved it. I was surprised to find that they also served breakfast! It was so delicious I would consider it the best breakfast ever. Not to mention their Bloody Mary's were killer!

This is the best restaurant in Burien. Tin room has great staff and great food. The burgers are the best in town. The bartenders are very attentive and I love that its a part of the community. As a sponsor of the Brat Trot, I am stoked we have a great place to eat like the tinroom.

My boyfriend picked out this place for dinner the other night and boy was the food good! We ordered a couple of drinks, the calamari, the cajun shrimp pasta, and 'olde burien' grilled meatloaf. The calamari was lightly coated, crispy, and had this great aioli sauce to accompany it. My boyfriend definitely scarfed it all down. I managed to get a bite or two! The cajun shrimp pasta was perfectly portioned and has a slight kick. The shrimp were big and generous. Lastly, the meatloaf was amazing. Two large slices served with buttery mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. It was definitely my favorite dish of the night, Our server was friendly and extremely knowledgeable of all the food served - definitely a plus! The overall service was quick which was in our favor as we had entered the bar starving :D. Can't wait to go back!

We had dinner at the Tin Room last night. The place was busy, but not crowded. Maybe it was because the movie had started about 30 minutes before we arrived. The drinks are EXCELLENT. Fresh squeezed lemon in my lemon drop. I had the chicken burrito. It was delicious. It came with rice & black beans. I wish the serving of beans were larger. My boyfriend had the fresh cod tacos. He ate every bite. The atmosphere was really good. Has that "new/old" feel to it.

Good fish n chips but the chips need work. They were these thick cut rubbery disks from a large potato. Edible, but I didn't think that was too appealing. Great service and the outdoor seating in the back of the tin room is a bit tight, but can be a great place to be social. A bit loud to hear your guest across from you, but it was charming. Owner was a nice guy and recommended taking a peek at the tin room theatre attached to the bar area. My guest didn't want fries but a salad instead. That seems to have caused some sort of pricing conflict. A returning patron, now I see why my guest raised concern about getting the same amount of food as before. Reading the past reviews pointed out the consistency issues. When the bill arrived, had a bit of a sticker shock. $78.57. After adding up 2 fish/chips, salad, and three margaritas the price should be around $62 according to the online menu if I assume margaritas are $9.95 like most other drinks, but my bill is obviously much higher than that. I didn't want to embarrass my guest so I paid it + $20 tip. After tip, the entire experience seemed too high for what I initially perceived would be lower price point from what was described to me as a cozy pub atmosphere with great drinks and happy hour. Not sure who to blame on that one. ::scratching head:: Polite service, all employees seem to band together and not leave the area without picking up plates and making rounds which is a nice touch. I'd be willing to try it again, but I'd need to be subconsciously aware of the billing next time.

Welcome to B-town! This joint seems more like a bar that would be in capital hill or West Seattle and I love it! It's apparent that Burien is stepping up its game when it comes to fun spots to dine.

  • Kristen S.

FANTASTIC place. Servers were friendly, food was great! I highly recommend this place. My boyfriend and I stopped in from out of town to watch football and everyone was super friendly and even the locals were easy to introduce themselves and make us comfortable!

  • Amanda R.

How in the world does this place have a high rating?! I ordered a hamburger here, asked to have it cooked medium, and it came COMPLETELY raw, even cold in the center. Maybe this was a mistake I though, so I asked the waiter to cook the burger more. He took the plate and came back 10 minutes later with the burger which was now lukewarm. Disgusting! Seriously guys? Maybe cold burgers are a new trend, but it sure isn't one I'm going to follow.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I went there last night for my birthday dinner. It just happened to be half price wine night which is probably one of my favorite things about Mondays now. The onion rings, while a little underdone, were still amazing. The spicy chipotle aoili was deserving of ordered seconds of. The asada was moist and delicous. The sausage was a nice added touch. Also, the free chocolate truffle cake slice for my birthday? Holy wow! I love you, Tin Room. You complete me.

My salmon was very tasty, as was my wine. I haven't tried the Tuesday taco specials, but my guests enjoyed them.

They got me from hello...a place that really understands the intimate relationship of fish and chips and tartar sauce. The staff is friendly and not intrusive. My companion enjoyed his meatloaf (and he's normally very critical!). We will return. Thanks for the enjoyable evening!

  • Maren H.

What a cute restaurant/bar! I loved the interior of worn wood and antique signs. Made it feel rustic. The tables are a bit tippy but fine...and the bar is very cute. We ordered a few really good wines, their house wine is good and very cheap! We also shared calamari appetizer that was very good then I had tacos that were very tasty! The servers were very nice, but a few times it was hard to get our servers attention because she was chatting for long periods of time with another employee not looking over... and we were the only people in the bar. That was a tad frustrating, but when we did have her attention she was very nice and on the ball. Pretty good experience overall.

I used to LOVE the Tin Room Bar to the point of driving from West Seattle just to enjoy the warm atmosphere and excellent service. Maybe I'm just out of the honeymoon phase, but it seems to me things may be changing. As of the past two times I've been here, my rating would be 3.5 from a former 5. The first few times we went here, the service was remarkable to the point that we felt like we were important. The staff went out of their way to be sure we found a seat and were taken care of throughout our meal. Other positives - cloth napkins. The drinks are strong. The menu itself does not list much in the way of mixed drinks, but they can make most things, if you ask. Another positive: gluten free bottled beer - Omission Pale Ale - not my favorite (I prefer Green's Dubbel Dark or Tripel), but at least they're trying. On the gluten free note, they also had a chocolate torte GF dessert, which was decent. Potential concern: portions. Last night I ordered the carne asada entree for the second time. Were they running out of meat? The previous time I ordered it was phenomenal and so filling, but last night felt like an appetizer. My boyfriend got the meatloaf, which he was satisfied with, but for $15, again, I thought it was on the small side. Second potential concern is service during busy times, (this has happened twice) especially on the restaurant side of things. I wouldn't comment on the service if it hadn't been so good so many times before. I truly hope last night was a fluke, because I really do have a special fondness for this place. Tin Theater: I would definitely watch a movie here again. You don't go there for the picture quality or sound. For $8 you can see second run movies and have drinks or movie munchies delivered chairside mid-movie. It's small, smaller than Big Picture, but stadium style, which is nice.

Food=outstanding and reasonably priced Movie tickets=a little much for outdated movies that can be rented at redbox Staff=friendly Seating=okay but come early & expect to be in a small place. There was a party going on when I got there and there was no standing room in the bar, in fact we weren't even allowed in because it was a private party, but we had to buy our movie tickets. Once we sat down to eat that was much better, quiet place in the back. The theater room was super cute, very small though so come early if you want to watch a movie because you have to reserve a spot before they run out. I think I will come back mainly for the food and only if a movie I really want to see is playing there.

Been here three times. The food is always great! Good portions! And the service is usually nice and fast. The theater is fun, can watch a movie with some beer and popcorn!

Great neighborhood bar with a great upscale bar menu and classic music with a theater connected to it. Happy hour 3-5. This place gets hoppin as the day rolls in to the evening. Lovely place to connect with someone new or meet up with an old friend.

One of the coolest and interesting bars/eateries in the 152nd Ave part of Burien. Surrounded by interesting small business owned shops, bars, eateries, this little spot definitely has a great location. Great spot in the summertime because there are small tables in front of the bar for eating and drinking! Inside is quaint and small. Feels like a pub with a open friendly atmosphere. Service is good. It can get quite busy on a weekday evening as well as a weekend evening. My friends said their meatloaf dish is the best, and our waitress said this is the best menu item. This dish was presented beautifully with a modern take on meatloaf - good size portion with wonderfully colored steamed veggies. For my dish, I chose the appetizer cheese and chicken quesdilla. It was nicely seasoned and of good quality. The price was a bit high $8.95 for a appetizer. A few selections of chicken and fish dishes as well as salad options for those who do not eat beef or pork.

Yes, Burien DOES have a great local bar. A friend and I went there recently on a gorgeous sunny day to have cocktails. I travel to Mexico twice a year and I know my Margaritas. Well, Tin Room has some KILLER 'ritas! They were very strong and in fact, knocked me on my keister. Drinks are not cheap, but you definitely get more than what you paid for! There were kitchen type tables out in back and it was a great place to enjoy the sunshine AND some drinks. We only ordered a couple appetizers so can't comment too much on the food. What we did have (nachos and Tin Room fries) were good. Service was A-OK. I would definitely return when I want to get alcohol bombed again. :)

Wow, this was an even better visit. The steak burrito was magnificent.! And I met the owner's mom who is a real sweetheart! What a great homespun place! I actually commute to Burien FROM Seattle to this place.

The Truth about the Tin Room I will preface this review by stating I REALLY wanted to like this place. Cool signage, atmosphere, outdoor patio, slate bar top and the promise of a hand crafted cocktail await you - as fresh fruits and a juice press are prominently displayed. However, the service, quality, delivery, and price do not match the overall experience. A West Seattle native, I have friends who live in Burien, and we have tried many times over the last few years hoping it had improved. Aside from the addition of a very cool indie neighborhood theater, where they randomly show older movies (hence the additional star), there have been no improvements. This place truly deserves 1 star, Here's why: Consistently, we have experienced untimely and less than courteous service. The food is expensive for what you get and lack luster when it FINALLY arrives. Examples; more than once, the waitress walked away from the table WHILE one of our friends was trying to ask Questions to ultimately add to our order, and more notably, on several occasions, the male bartender (who always seems to be there) was flat out rude, with a piss-poor attitude and ZE-RO personality, except for that which he would 'turn on' for his female co-workers, and a *few* regulars, and it would turn off just as fast. On several occasions, the portions were shy and inconsistent. We tried the, "Hand made potato chips", - and they were, unmistakably, absolutely identifiably; Tim's Cascade chips you can get at any grocer. We laughed it off, but I HATE being lied to. Ultimately, we learned this place was very expensive for the neighborhood, the service and the quality, so we tried to, "show it the Love" during Happy Hour. We first found that they do not offer Happy Hour. (really?) At a later date, we discovered that they started to offer happy hour - but only on food. Tried it - and it was (basically) a joke. a handful of selected items discounted over a 2 hour window and it wasn't a true discount as we came to discover the portions were reduced. Not an unusual practice for happy hour - but most businesses then also reduce the price of selected beverages (at least the well drinks). Not at this time, is what we were told. THE FINAL STRAW; was when we heard from a friend that they finally improved their happy hour so we decided to give The Tin Room yet ANOTHER chance. We walked in on a Tuesday Afternoon at 5:20pm. This was during their, "Happy Hour." We were excited to learn that they finally, "improved' The happy hour. We were advised they were now (finally) offering Happy Hour specials on "most" of the cocktails. My friend ordered a double Belvedere & Tonic, and I ordered a Baccardi & Soda. We didn't even ask for any fancy juice pressed additives - just a lemon wedge. The rude / inattentive bartender (mentioned above) didn't even bother to ask if we wanted to order food and assumed we were done, - and handed us a bill. The total came to $28.80... FOR 2 COCKTAILS ON A TUESDAY AFTERNOON DURING HAPPY HOUR! Are you kidding!? We were blown away. Doubles or not, this price point is grossly egregious. These Were Downtown Seattle prices - in fact Higher. I haven't spent that much on 2 cocktails on a Friday night - not even at the likes of El Goucho or Canlis. Ridiculous, only begins to describe it. Most places in the Downtown / Cap Hill area - for example - during Happy Hour are offering an extended happy hour, charging about $9 double Belvedere, and Baccardi is in most Wells for around $5 or $6. Another thing worth mentioning, is that Not only is the Tin Room not Shy about their BIG prices, -their pour sure isn't...but it doesn't stop there either. Most bars build the tax into the cost of the beverage. Ergo, on a $6 Cocktail, the responsibility of the tax is assumed by the establishment. However, The Tin Room's Bill was also not shy about passing the tax on to their customers - who are ALREADY being grossly overcharged. Especially for the neighborhood. When you ponder the real estate cost (rent - etc.) VS Downtown Seattle / Cap Hill, -you really start getting a clear picture of how this place is taking advantage of its patrons. I will call a spade a spade: They're greedy. We walked away after this experience having made the firm and final decision to never set foot in there again. Its too bad, because we really wanted to check out a flick there in the tiny movie house... but when you burn a hole in my wallet (so many times over) - you burn a hole in my stomach, and I can't stomach the though of knowing I'm being flat out raped. *IF you must - absolutely MUST go there, avoid the main bar / restaurant all together and go there just for a movie. The theater side is to the right. But know that each and every dollar you spend there is supporting owners who don't care about anything other than lining their own pockets.

Ok, be patient with me as there is a lot to tell about The Tin Room Bar & Grill also known just at the Tin Room located in olde town Burien, Washington. Dan House, owner, also known as Dan the Sausage Man, has two parts to his business: Tin Room and Tin Theater. The Tin Room (the restaurant side) has always been there since the day he opened, but the Tin Theater was a sausage shop that Dan's mom ran selling summer sausage of Dan's recipe and making. She also sold mustards and other things throughout the store. When Dan's mom retired about 4 years ago Dan remodeled the place, dug out the back and built the Tin Theater, which was a great idea! Perhaps you are wondering how I know such details about the Tin Room in Burien of all places. Well, my business partner and best friend, the late Greg King, lived in Normandy Park just adjacent to Burien but on the Sound side. Greg was a single guy and ate at the Tin Room a couple of times a week and since we worked together that meant I ate there, too; two to three times a month. The people, the ambiance, and the great food still to this day bring me back a couple times a year and I live a state away. But on a side note just to let you know how amazing Dan and his people are at the Tin Room, when Greg passed away three years ago on St. Patrick's Day, the Tin Room was packed that afternoon but I called and told Dan about Greg and that his brother and I and four others would be coming up to pull a pint in salute to Greg and have dinner, Dan cleared a table for 6 right in the middle of his restaurant amongst the crowd of celebrators. What a great guy! Thank you Tin Room for being a great part of my extended community.

I like the Tin Room because of the strong feeling of community you get the second you walk in. Eating? Get the burger! The food is good, but pricey. Save your money for the cocktails! INCREDIBLE! Mike is my favorite bartender. Don't miss the free wine tasting the first Thursday of every month.

I just moved to Burien 2 months ago and heard about Tin Room from some friends who live in West Seattle. It was the first restaurant we tried after settling down. We've been back 5 times since then. Why? First, my compliments to their bartender! This place actually knows how to make a drink! I'm very selective about ordering drinks at restaurants and especially margaritas, which are always very weak and full of mix. The margaritas here are the best I've had - EVER (at a restaurant) - and that's after several visits. (Caution: On the menu, the house margarita says it has 2 sugar cubes in it. That sounds a bit weird to me, so I've just asked for no sugar cubes each time and they've been perfect.) The other drinks on their drink menu are pretty creative and a good variety for what is a fairly short drink menu. Good drinks will get me in there, but good food will keep me. I haven't been too adventurous with the food myself usually just ordering the Greek salad, which is great though it's hard to mess up a salad. However, each visit I ate off of other people's plates and enjoyed everything. I've probably sampled half of their menu at this point, so I think I have a pretty good overview. I'm not a calamari person, but my friend ordered it on my most recent visit and said it was really good - and she is a calamari person. The service has been great each time. It's very casual, which I enjoy and you know the waitstaff are real people. You basically just walk right into the place, so it's a very comfortable atmosphere when combined with the casual service. I'm timid about awarding 5 stars, but I can't think of any reason to give Tin Room less than that, so congratulations!

We had a chance for datenight in Burien and so I started to poke around for restaurants that seemed new and fun around the area. Seeing Tres and Alisa's reviews, this place sounded pretty darn good, so we dropped off the little one and headed over. I will say that if we had just had a drink, I would have definitely bumped this up a star; my cocktail was as promised, fresh juice, divinely made and a perfect suggestion from our excellent server. When we first arrived, two servers walked right by us and the bartender tended to the back bar as we clearly stood confused in the entry area- did we seat ourselves? Who worked here, there was a woman perched at a table who didn't turn to us, and eventually, a man that must have worked there as he offered to seat us pointed us at a table, but no menus were given. There was a rumpled bag of popcorn kernels next to my seat and the seats were wedged together rather close to our neighbors who were loud and drunk people of my parent's age, clearly regulars as he championed his full gin drink as 'they know ME here'! However, on to the rest...the food was just okay, and food to price ratio just didn't work for me. Overall, the menu was a bit disjointed with entrees being 1/3 Mexican inspired choices and 1/3 'comfort food' and 1/3 pasta w/ dishes. The cod tacos - his choice- were alright but short on the Pico which was short on the onion and cilantro-and the cost did not line up with the quality. I had the Chicken Picatta and while the sauce and pasta were really good, the chicken itself was tough and - perhaps they don't know about brining- but the price was right on for the dish overall. As I mentioned, though, the server was a dream. She was professional, checked in with us often enough, asked about our meal and was really GREAT. Still, the biggest issue for me was that while the decor is clearly trying really hard, at the end of the day, regardless of the clear desire for a group hallucination, we're in Burien. And while that's a fine place to be, don't try and pretend it's Fremont, because it's just not.

I love the Tin Room in Burien. Friendly service, great food, awesome martinis. Sat with the head chef at the bar awhile back. Good people there, plus they have the Tin Theater right next door. Perfect date spot.

This place is by far the worst place i've ever been to!!! The waitress brought wrong dish to our table and started shouting like we actually ordered it and also she mixed up our food by bringing chicken pasta and another chicken dish. This older looking waitress asked if we wanted to keep the dish even after someone has been eating out of it!! I told her no and I wanted a new dish. "I mean who would eat a dish that someone else has been eating out of?" So she takes it back and brings the same dish to us in 3 mins. This waitress was just horrible!!!!! Other staff was pretty nice, but i would never go there again! All because of her.

Delicious for a birthday night dinner and drinks with the family...excellent cocktails..especially the French75, Wine Spritzer, martini and the Bourbon Renewal...perfect. Always must try the fish tacos wherever I go and they did not disappoint ...moist and savory fish, well-dressed..delightful fish and chips...burger...meatloaf and excellent deserts...Service was over-the-top, and it was a busy Saturday night, walk-in..Thank you for a memorable meal, Burien.

Best neighborhood bar! The drinks, food and service are fantastic! We come here weekly and the staff always remembers us and has a cold beer ready! You must try Taco Tuesday or come to the Tin Theater and watch a movie!

This place is pretty good, pretty much the best Burien has. I went to the Tin Room on a Saturday evening for a work related soiree and was quite pleasantly surprised. The pumpkin martini was excellent. Tasted just like an alcoholic pumpkin pie (not too sweet, creamy, and well spiced). There was a decent selection of veggie food and appetizers. They did justice to the boca burger and the fish tacos in my party's order. The cottage fries that came with the meal were perfectly done. The service was slow but friendly. I will be coming back :)

Sorry Tin Room, I really wanted to like you. I just wasn't a fan. My friend and I stopped here after a long week of work, ready to unwind a bit. Unfortunately there is no evening Happy Hour, but we stayed anyway to try it out. The Tin Room is really cute and has a fun atmosphere with lots of regulars. Lots of good beer on tap, but I just felt that the food was WAY overpriced and just not that great. We ordered the pizza special, which was $11, tiny, and not very good. We also shared a salad, and a plate of nachos. Our total came out to about $45 for two beers (total) and some bland food. Pretty disappointing.

Popped into the Tin Room after reading a lot of the rave reviews and finding the history of the place intriguing. My friends and I have been looking for an "our bar" for a couple of months now ever since we came home from finishing school. We decided to try out the Tin Room on a Tuesday night to celebrate the birth of my new baby niece across the country. The place seemed like a comfortable, well-designed bar. We ordered some standard mixed drinks--my friend got a vodka tonic instead of the vodka cran that she ordered. Simple mistake, not really condemning. The drinks were a little weak considering the pricing. Still, we found a nice, small, metal table and enjoyed ourselves the whole time we were there. The small theater also looks interesting and might draw me in again. However, we all kind of agreed that this bar would be awesome if we were about ten years older. Everyone else there all looked to be at least thirty (or forty), and somewhat hipster artsy types. Cool location, attractive gimmick, and unique decor all contribute to a positive experience at the Tin Room. Will definitely check out again on a busier night just to avoid giving a review based on only one visit, but it may be a while before I do.

I'm really amazed this place only has 3 1/2 stars total. I've been several times, living a mere block away, and I've never been disappointed. I've been when it's dead and when it's standing-room-only, and have never had any major complaints (yes, service can be a bit lacking under some circumstances, but not offensively so). The scene isn't for everyone, as it is typically populated by white collar folk. But the decor and wait staff are casual enough that anyone is accommodated. The drinks are the dramatic highlight - best mojito I've had in the greater Seattle area. The food is pretty rockin' too. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I was conflicted between three things last time I went. The chicken sandwich I ultimately chose was sooooooo good, I've cooked large batches of caramelized onions to have on hand in an attempt to recreate it at home (to no avail, might I add). But the cajun shrimp po' boy and the true cod sandwich were incredibly tempting. To make my predicament worse, I watched the cajun shrimp po' boy walk by as I ate my lunch. I didn't want it *more*, but I wanted it *as well*. Problem is, even though the Tin Room is a mere block away, I'm currently home with my new baby and can't bring her in! It's torture! I'm painfully tempted to pull a babysitting card just to bring my husband in for lunch. Yeah, that's how good the Tin Room is... I'll trade a Saturday night of babysitting for an hour during lunchtime. I'd implore those who've had a bad time to give it another try. And it's not trying too hard. The Tin Room takes after ACTUAL Burien history (I walked by the Hi-line Tin Shop on my way to various places every day during my young life), not Fremont's often skin-deep hipsterism. Yeah, I said it.

It's all of the other have said but all of the other reviewers have left out the "meat loaf". This is the best meat loaf I have ever had! Juicy and chared just enough to have a little crust with Steve's famous Bourbon gravy. Comfort food does not get better than this, great on a cold winter night with a martini of course. Kelly makes the best martini's and can give you great advice on wines. This is my stop every Sat. night. See you Saturday night Kelly.

Been to Tin Room twice now, both visits spent in the company of the same lovely friend. I want so badly to like this place. It's cute, it's fun, it's got an odd population that is predominantly just-off-work office professional men, something I won't scoff at, and it's all comfort food. I just...can't. There's nothing wrong with the food. The first time out my friend and I shared the calimari. It was good, if not unremarkable. She had the burger, a huge hunk of ground beef formed into a slab and served up with tons of condiments and thick-cut homemade chips. It got the stamp of approval. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The gravy poured over everything was far too salty for my liking, but it wasn't awful. Plus they have cute little bottles of Diet Coke that tickle my fancy. (See? I'm not so hard to please!) The service was nothing special, but that's fine by me. I don't go out to be fawned over, just served efficiently and in a timely manner. This place was perfectly serviceable in this regards the first time around. We were back about a week ago after being unable to figure anywhere else worth going in Burien. This time I had the barbeque burger which was cooked as I'd ordered and my friend had the fried prawns. The burger was good (not worth getting again), and my friend really liked her prawns. This time around though, the service was abysmal. The waitress barely came around, and when she did, it was like we were an inconvenience for being there. (Yeah, sorry for that 25% tip we're about to leave you - hmph!) She took our drink orders without waiting to find out if we were ready to order food (we were), and when the food came, we didn't see her again until my friend flagged her down for more tartar sauce. She asked for water at the same time, and somehow that appeared at the same time as the check. Yeah, that's handy timing, thanks! Worse than the complete lack of attention from our server was the fact that they felt the need to stock the place at 6:30 on a busy Wednesday. Seriously? You want that scrawny girl walking through with buckets of bottled beer or armloads of bottled ketchup/mustard? And then she gives the death glare to anyone who even twitches in what may be her direction? Not cool, Tin Room. Not cool. Really, while I'm not really aware of what these places may be, there has to be better places to eat in Burien. Save yourself the bother and go somewhere you can get service with a smile. Or least competancy.

Tin room was interesting. I went on a Thursday night, so the crowd was toned down. Bartender was incredibly helpful and friendly. I was served right away and the beer was cold. I saw a couple of people in various reviews in various places around here saying things about Lemon Drops and such - this place has a orange/lemon press and they make the fruit drinks from real fruit - pressed. The food is nothing to write home about though. I wasn't incredibly hungry, so I ordered the wings and found out that they were rubbed, not sauced. I like the sauce and I like them separated - not whole wings (that's why this is a four). If you're in town, stop by and get a drink or maybe a prawn sandwich!! All-in-all, I would definitelyh come back and I'd bring friends, this is a nice place to chill out (at least on the weeknight).

My first experience was watching Zombieland at the theater. Now, if you haven't seen Zombieland, Woody Harrelson's character is obsessed with finding Twinkies. So, to my wonderful surprise at the end of the movie, a staff member came around and passed out Twinkies! It was a simple gesture, but I was sold on this place!! Just this last weekend a couple girlfriends decided on a quick dinner and a movie for a Friday night. We arrived a little before 6pm and it was hoppin'. We were approached by several different staff and were quickly seated. We explained we wanted to eat, but also wanted to catch the 7:30pm show. Everyone was super helpful from the server explaining what menu items were quick, to the cook making our food fast, to the owner saving our seats in the theater. The food was good, the theater is cozy, and the service is excellent!

Holy sidecars and whiskey sours batman... this place is psychotically good! I hadn't been in over a year and was pretty surprised by the quality of the drinks. The whiskey sour was made after the traditional manner and therefore was trully sour without that nasty coma inducing sweetness catching on your tongue. The sidecar was trully awesome... the rim was completely over sugared but it hit the lips perfectly and was a lot of fun to indulge in. The decor here is pretty cool, the building used to be an old tin shop (hence the name) and a lot of the original fixtures, pictures, tin pieces, and moldings are still in place. Some of the random ephemera have been skattered around the shop, nailed to tables and walls, old signs hung cattywompus on the walls, random papers burnt at the edges framed and hung over doorways. Overall this place has turned into quite the hot spot and if you want to sit among some trully vintage decor and enjoy some potent drinks if your in the south end, this is the place to go.

This place seems to be helping Burien upscale itself! Great selection of beers with an awesome happy hour, particularly for the food items which were high quality and very very tasty. The ambiance is enjoyable with a mix of ages and types of people. The service was friendly and quick. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is cuz the prices outside of HH are a bit steep for my wallet. I think they're ok with that cuz they're trying to keep it classy..."non-dive"ish which I totally understand. They also have a theater with a variety of movies played, often as part of some sort of event or efforts to help people/organizations other than themselves. They have a outdoor patio in the back. They could use more toilets as there's only room to comfortably facilitate one man or woman in each of the unisex restrooms, both of which have locks made available on the doors. Parking seems tricky but if you're willing to walk a block or two there's plenty on the streets that intersect 152nd.

My favorite place to hang out in B-Town!!!! Friendly wait staff, bartenders and customers. A real "Cheers" like atmosphere, with the best fresh squeezed, handmade cocktails in the area. Plenty of good food too. Comment: Please bring in some larger style, proper "red wine glasses" and I'll order more red wine, instead of just drinking beer.

I love the concept of this place. I'd read the reviews and we were so excited to try this lovely place in our backyard. The decor is fun and historic, the clientele friendly and bustling....Yet the service...oh my, not good. At first we were really perplexed, it defied all the reviews, were we there on an off night? Was it just super busy? Er, no. The woman who served us was supervising others so either she was an owner or hostess, not sure which. The service was seriously delayed and when I say delayed I mean it took 20 minutes for her to even recognize us and it wasn't that busy. The food was on the cold side when we got it. The beer was good. And the food minus the temp was tasty, but sort of soured by the lack of attention and continual dismissive attitude we got. We were even dressed properly :( I don't know that I'd try it again, it wasn't that great. I'd rather go across the street to the Mark Restaurant and Bar where it's consistent and friendly and prompt.

The drinks are pretty good and the staff has always been hospitable. The only reason I give it 3 stars instead of 4 is that I feel the food is priced a little too high for what you get. It's decent bar food but it could either be priced down a little or the level of it needs to be ramped up some to match the pricing. But otherwise, I think this is a nice place. I'll still go here for the occasional splurge though and need to come back to check out the theatre they have.

Last night was our first visit to the Tin Room. It was hopping, and the atmosphere was friendly and very casual. We had a cheeseburger and shrimp tacos, respectively. Both were excellent. Great Place. I used to walk by this place on the way home from school, when it was a tin shop. I love how they've incorporated the old signs and such into the current design. It's rustic, packed, and fun. The food is good, but I just like drinking there while staring at all the re-puposed items tacked up on the walls. Too cool.

The Tin Room Bar is a great place to enjoy a meal with someone. It has the cozy feel of a city restaurant without the city problems (parking, homeless panhandlers, etc.). The food is tasty and well prepared. The wait staff is friendly and real. I'm not a drinker, but the bar looks like a good one. Enjoy!

You know me- you know my love of Burien. Add in some dirty martinis and good people and I am in the best place ever. The roomie and I headed over to the Tin Room after checking out the newly redecorated Bison Creek. We sat at the bar where Kelly was quick to serve us and I had no problem chatting up the locals. (My dad is kind of a big deal in these parts so I know several familiar faces!) We checked out the menu and ordered some nachos- not very adventuresome- but we just needed a quick bite. The overall menu looked delicious and I picked out several dishes to try next time. There were specials which looked very tasty- steak and bacon- how can you go wrong! I just really wanted to see a happy hour menu and prices!

This is one of my favorite places to go out for drinks and a good meal. A little expensive, but if you go after your birthday, and you have signed up for their mailing list, you'll have a $10 gift card to use!!!! Love the Cosmo and Lemon drop, love the cheeseburger, chicken piccata, fish and chips....the list goes on. Popular place so can be crowded, and it can take a while to get your food and drinks. But if you're just there to chill the night away, who cares?

I enjoy the Tin Room so much that the only negative I could possibly give it is that it's not next to my house, and my only regret is that I didn't review it sooner, as the previous glowing reviews effectively capture everything that I wanted to say about it. It's worth restating, though: the food is better than one has any right to expect from a bar that isn't a restaurant attachment. We've had several different meals here and are continually astounded by the quality. The burger & fries are good, of course: I'm not sure any reviewer can honestly claim a bar has good food if their burger is subpar. It's the non-bar fare here that really shines, though. The steak is great, and I mean great: it's better than many I've had in restaurants where steak is the claim to fame. The crab cakes (so my dining partner told me, not my thing) are well balanced, with the right amount and size chunks of crab meat, a good blend of fillers and excellent breading.

This is a mixed review... We've gone to the Tin Room only for drinks previously and it was a nice place, great atmosphere, drinks a bit spendy, but OK. Our last visit, we actually had dinner there. I wasn't very hungry so I got a side of their fries which are pretty good. In addition I got the Calamari appetizer. It was almost the worst Calamari I have ever had! What seemed like NO seasoning on the calamari or in the crust , nor in the aioli. And the calamari was over cooked and rubbery. I'm told these were even some special Alaskan calamari they had got in. My wife had the steak sandwich and she said it was good The service is pretty good, though on a previous visit a waitress did spill a Lemon Drop all over my wife while she was pouring it at the table. She got a new drink made, but there was no compensation for leaving the bar with half a drink on her clothes. The Tin Room is a nice place, but be selective about what you order.

Best meatloaf other than my mother's! I also love their cheeseburgers. And some how, they make a really mean Bloody Mary that cures hangovers better than any other! Can get pretty crowded but worth the wait!

Invited a few friends out for dinner, I had heard this place was laid back and really good... I heard right. I never order steak out because I like the way I season and cook it to perfection. The waitress told us the new york was a special of the night at 10 bucks off. I tried it, I had nothing to complain about... Seasoned and cooked to perfection, the asparagus was crisp and chard wonderfully too. Not a 5 because the waitress wasn't really friendly. When I say thank you I want to make sure I've been heard by a response of your welcome. I guess it wasn't in her vocabulary this night. I know it's piddly but it is what it is. If I'm polite I expect that in return, (especially if I'm payin $25 per person, and that's $10 off for the special of the night).

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that they're not open on Sundays except for private parties. I went once with my parents, grandpa, and a friend of his. We all really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. I think every one of us cleaned our plates! I had the chicken burrito and it was delicious! Our waitress was very pleasant and quick to smile. Plus, the bathrooms are named Phyllis and Ed (after the original owners of the tin shop that building originally housed) and that just tickles me. I will definitely go again! I had to raise my number of stars because they ARE open on Sundays now! Their hamburger is the best ever, and I completely think it is worth $12. I am never disappointed with it.

Well.....been here at least 5 times and, really love the atmosphere and, food is good but, a little pricey for what it is. I could understand if it were AMAZING but... unfortunately it's not. We just moved here a year ago from Seattle and really want to patronize our local restaurants but, its hard! we are still finding ourselves going to the big city! I also am blown away with the fact that there is no happy hour! My friends get together every month for happy hour and it was my turn to pick. I had all my friends come to Burien for happy hour. I just expected the Tin Room to have a happy hour! everyone was very upset..... needless to say.....I will never live it down. Why no happy hour??? are they to good??? I'm thinking the Tin Room is for the people that have been in Burien forever and they don't need any "new blood" eating there.

Stopped in here for brunch on the weekend and was not disappointed. Fast friendly service, expeditiously brought the water, menus, and took the orders along with some friendly chatter. The brunch/lunch was also very reasonably priced, and the soup du jour (cream of asparagus) was outstanding! The consensus from the group was that everyone enjoyed their sandwiches and all left full and satisfied.

I wanted to like this place, really cute, super cool, tiny 21 & over movie theatre. We went there for my birthday with the intent to go to the movie after dinner. We arrived at 6pm, movie starts at 7pm. It took the waiter 45 minutes to take our food order. The movie started a few minutes after our food come. We had fish tacos because we read rave reviews about then, $14 for a pile of cabbage & a scrap of fishy fish. Not worth the money. We also, ordered a Greek salad, dressing was bland but the salad part was ok. I would come back to see a movie sometime.

So I discovered this place almost a year ago when I was doing a tour of burien for a friends birthday. My first time we just popped in because it was the burien street fair and we could get drinks and take them to the beer garden...so not much to comment other then the wine was good. For my 2nd-4th times here it all has been in the last month...wow. 2nd time- I was not pleased to be going here since my boyfriend was suppose to be making me dinner. To top it all off he had already eaten.... So I had a glass of wine and the calamari. I was not impressed with it. It taste liked rubber. Then again I wasn't please to be here so I might be a little harsh. The only good thing that came out of this dinner was that the next morning I was single...... 3rd time- Came here with a friend for drinks and dinner. We had a waitress that was in training and she was really overwhelmed. The food was alright. I had the bacon wrapped dates and a salad. Cant remember what my friend had but she liked it. Our service was slow and we had to ask for our bill. Oh and to top it all off she was cleaning up the table next to us and left used napkins on our table....ewww gross. 4th time- Came here last week for lunch. They have a small menu and the service was slow. I had the crab sandwich and it was yummy. My lunch mate had a salad which he really enjoyed. Coolness factor I order a coke and it came in a little glass bottle. Other then the service this is a cool little place. I love the decor and how laid back it is. I am actually going back in a few weeks to celebrate a friend getting a new job position.

This bar used to be an tin shop. It's so cute with all the old memorabilia. The drinks are a decent price. I love to little theater they have to. Such a fun date!

I dig the decor and the overall feel of the place.. The service has been rushed & nervous everytime I have been there, though. Good place for a first date maybe. comfy feel. I have to say that the drinks were a little weak & never in my life have I seen more head on a glass of beer. Havent eaten there. Probably wont.... But if I'm on a pub crawl, I'll go again. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS!

This place is loud! But the food is tasty and the outdoor seating is nice in good weather. The service here is a little slow when they are busy but the servers are always nice & friendly. Grilled chicken burrito is excellent and is probably our favorite item on the menu. Chicken tenders are surprisingly good, moist and flavorful. Chicken satay is perfectly done and has an excellent sauce. Nachos are basic but tasty. The cocktails are creative and very good. We've been here several times and will definitely be coming back.

Oh how we love the tin room! The owners are amazing! I have really enjoyed every item I have had off the menu. Great cocktail made with "real ingredients". Highly recommended for private parties. Thanks again so much for helping my family through a rough time and making my husbands 30th a success!

I can see the draw of this place -- unique decor, classy, good drinks, waiter's dressed in black, local feel. I guess I'm just too cheap. Went there with my husband to catch the first half of a football game. We chose this place because we don't dig the usual sport's bar feel or the usual sports bar food. So we were satisfied on that point. Food was tasty, though a bit pricey in my opinion. I had the flank steak sandwich. Pretty good but certainly not awesome. Decent service. The waiter seemed disingenuous, but having worked in a restaurant myself, I never expect perfection when it comes to service.

My husband and I happened upon this place when we went to pick up chicken feed across the street and decided to stop in and see what it was all about. The bartender was very pleasant and friendly. The drinks were great. I love having fresh squeezed grapefruit juice in my salty dogs! I like that they have wifi also. I would probably give the food 3 stars as it's good but not great. Overall it's a good experience though and a fun place to hang out. I will go here again.

Service is great & the happy hour menu is awesome. I recommend the tacos. This place looks really cool too, it apparently used to be a tin shop before it became a totally awesome bar, and many of the items from the tin shop are still there!

What can I say, good food, good prices, awesome people, and I'm not just saying that cause I live there. Dan the Sausageman (try his sausages, order online) opened this place up, and I have yet to be disappointed here. Food leans towards the mexicain style, but hey its a bar! Nachos check, half salads, check! Other nummy eats, check! My one thing I want you don't give, blue cheese dressing on the wedge, WHY DAN WHY!!!!!! So, blue cheese dressing is at 909 a few stores down....see that review too!

It is a bit pretentious to give a bar five stars... but it isn't always about the food.... sometimes it just has to be about the ambience, the total gestalt.... This is a neighborhood joint in an area where they've really never had a neighborhood joint. You walk in and if you live within a few miles, you are almost sure to meet or see someone you know. And... if you don't, the wait staff will soon make you feel like a part of the family anyway. Dan "The Sausage Man" (and owner) is often behind the bar and using his athletic skills (once a very good soccer player) to shake all of the hand made drinks. The have a juicer and they know how to use it. He is always very busy but keeps an eye out for all of the new and old customers and has a smile and friendly greeting for all of them. Get the idea it isn't all about food? But, the food is very good and they change the menu rather frequently as they really pay attention to what the customers want. There is always a slate at the north end of the bar with the daily specials listed and we've never gone wrong with those as well, but we are also happy to work from the regular menu. The have a great cheeseburger and their potatos are sliced little rounds that are fried brown and crispy. It is the best of the places in Olde Burien... and will probably stay that way because they truly do pay attention to their business... Oh.... Monday nights are half-price wine nights. A great opportunity to drink a bottle of wine that you might shy away from because of the normal price. Such a treat.

I have been going here for well over 5 years now. It's an absolute staple. All out of town guests that come in this is the first place we go, coincidentally, we continue to go there every night there after. The drinks are phenomenal, food delicious, staff friendly and the decor, well it's in an old tin shop. Order the Whiskey Sour, there is no jarred sweet and sour mix here, it's all fresh squeezed to order. The food is equally amazing. I love, LOVE the Bourbon grilled meatloaf and Chicken marsala. I'm so glad they renovated it to make more room, because it was always tough to go on a friday or saturday night. It's a friendly neighborhood joint that I have never had a bad time at.

I could only like this place more if it were open for lunch. This cozy, friendly, neighborhood restaurant/bar is a find in the trying-to-be-revitalized "olde Burien". You feel like you belong and you are welcomed home at this converted Tin-Shop. Beer is aplenty - lots on tap. However, don't feel like you can't try the cocktails - top notch and very creative! I had the flank steak sandwich - juicy, tender, full of flavor! The lemonaid is just about perfect!

We were shopping the neighborhood and looking to buy a house in this area. So we thought we'd check out the downtown area and get a feel for our potential new town. We brought a friend with us because we had visited olde town burien the day before and found the olde town charm was amazing and just had to get a second opinion. We walked in around 12:30/1pm on a Sunday. There were only about 6 other people in the place, but you'd think it was 60 by how slow the service was. The bartender was completely oblivious. She was very focused on her side work and not on us. We waited for about 30 minutes before she took our drink order, not lunch, our drinks. And we didnt even have water....she never brought it and we had to ask. She was very attentive to people she knew and some people that came in much later after us, had drinks and their food within about 20 minutes. We sat there, at the bar, waiting. And waiting. AND WAITING. We tried to engage in friendly conversation hoping she'd pay more attention to us, or even just take our order. It was abysmal. We almost walked out but we were so hungry by that point that we just tolerated it. Our food was okay, nothing remarkable. I desperately want to like this place because it's really cool inside and they have a theater, but the service is horrible. I shouldn't have to beg for service and pull teeth to get waited on when there's about 10 people in the entire restaurant. I'm very concerned about what it's like on Friday or Saturday, if this is how bad Sunday is. I really hope the service improves because Seattle is only 10 minutes away, and there's too much competition out there to be complacent. I'd rather support the local eateries and shops in Olde Town Burien, so I'm keeping an open mind but they really need to work on their service.

When the Tin Room opened it's door a few years back I can't tell you how relived I was that there was a fun little, and I mean that literally... the place is tiny, cocktail bar in my neighborhood. The Tin Room has a cute history to offer with the new owner capturing the essence of business past in the current decor. The food, while a limited menu, is refreshingly seasonal and interesting. Their bartenders really know what they are doing and don't look at you strangely when you ask for a cocktail that has more than three ingredients. The only draw back I see with the Tin Room is the size. I have walked up and more than once walked right on by due to the standing room only view I saw through the window. But I suppose this could be a testament to how popular this Olde Burien gem really is.

This is a great little bar! We have been here twice in the past year and a half and it has always been awesome! The menu is small, but as a HUGE fan of Gordan Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares.....that is a good thing. I have to say they quite possibly have the best mashed potatoes I have ever eaten. Another plus is that the drinks are very well made with FRESH squeezed fruit juices. That is rare! I am very fond of their Manhattan. Also on certain nights they offer 1/2 price wine which is nice. It can get very busy on any night, so I recommend going early. All in all, great service, atmosphere and food. Try it out!

Came here on a recommendation from a friend who is a cut-throat-serious home BBQer, him claiming that he had never had better chicken wings in his life. I was skeptical, as I rarely get all that moved by a plate of wings, most of which, outside of a couple of notable chinese restaurants we frequent, are about as undistinguished a food as a can of Beef-A-Roni. So, we go to Burien (where we never go, except to buy buffalo at the wonderful B&E Meats - best beef jerkey on the planet!) and hunt up Tin Room, which turns out to be the de facto centerpiece of a tiny row of the sorts of shops that, in other suburbs, represent the "young and trendy" section of town. Burien - which is anything but either "young" or "trendy" - wraps around these handful of quaint shops like a giant corn tortilla around a filet mignon, rendering the little area rather forlorn and a bit sad. It's about four p.m. when we get there and the dinner menu is not really in force, yet. We tell them we've driven from Bellevue for the wings and they either take pity on us for having to live in Bellevue (my bet) or they're just that accomodating but they agree to rustle us up a mess 'o' wings, post haste. We ordered salads and a couple cups of soup and two beers. I do the default Mac & Jack's while Judye gambles on something which she has never - astoundingly - tried before, a whiskey sour. They squeeze all the fruit for the bar juices at Tin Room, right there on the bar with an antique Hamilton-Beach (I think) juicer, and Judye is a sucker for anything fresh-squeezed. "How could you possibly not have tried a whiskey sour?" I ask, bewildered. I don't even drink mixed drinks AT ALL, and I've sampled one before. "Just never came across it," she smiled. We have now established that Judye likes Whiskey Sours. I tasted it and I can see why. The fresh lemon sour, balanced with the fresh orange sweetness, really lights up their good bar Bourbon and she sips it appreciatively while I slowly savor my lovely Mac & Jack's. After a very decent interval, our wings show up, steaming hot, nicely dusted with a very savory seasoning mix and fried just to the perfect point of crispness. Folks, these are wings as you will seldom have them: fresh and crisp, not smothered, choked, cloaked in Red Devil sauce and butter, like the vile traditional Buffalo wings. The meat is perfect, tender, moist and succulent. The skin is crisped to buttery perfection. There are only six of the wing-drummie things on my plate and I think, "Crap, I'm gonna want more!" But I find I don't. The things are perfectly satisfying and leave me comfortably full and happy. And our salads, which usually occupy almost none of my attention as an adjunct to my meals, were absolutely dazzlingly fresh and dressed with a vibrant, garlicky gem of a dressing. Even the house blue cheese dip, accompanying the wings, was as good as I've had as a wing's wingman maybe ever around here. These recommendations from friends so seldom work out that I almost feel like throwing a block party when one is actually even better than advertised. The Tin Room certainly exceeded our expectations, - in food, service, and atmosphere - by a mile!

I love the Tin Room. Been there several times for drinks, appetizers and dinner. They are now open for lunch. I like to order and take it home with me. My favorites are the Chicken Piccata, the chicken sandwich and many more things. I like the drinks and found them to be plenty strong. I like the new bench on the back deck and the new space inside. By new space I mean MORE space. They made some changes to allow for more seating. I like just about everyone who works there. I've never had anything I didn't like.

Came here today with my kiddos for lunch and as usual was not disappointed. I've been many times before for lunch and it's always really good. I've never had a bad experience. The classic burger I ordered was thick, meaty and perfectly cooked and came with super yummy chip/fries. My son ordered the BLT and was in heaven. He adored the blue cheese and the thick cut bacon on ciabatta bread. My two little people split a grilled cheese on ciabatta with the chip/fries (off the kids menu) and the waiter/bartender/cashier/host (yes, aside from cook, he was managing the whole restaurant) was knowledgeable enough to actually put my kids' food on two plates (I can't say how often waiters bring a "split" dish on only one plate). He was super cool and friendly and my teenage son thought the place was really cool. Don't be afraid to track down your server if you have to hit the road and need your bill. Strong coffee, good bar, good food and a really cool vibe, so cool that your teenager might even think *you're* cool.

Participated in Brat Trot 2009. The gal in the back of the restaurant, on the deck (also selling alcohol though the Tin Room) stated that the give-a-way for the passports was a trip to Cancun to be announced at 11pm. She stated this as three of us bought tickets. We later found out that the door prizes were small token gifts. I realize this was a charitable event, but blatant misrepresentation of the event, I feel, was fraudulent. I would not patronize this establishment.

We love this place. The review at the bar says is the neighborhood place every neighborhood wish it had and I do. We drive here from West Seattle pretty often. They have amazingly upscale food for a little neighborhood bar. It is always clean, always friendly, although sometimes we get our food right away and sometimes we wait forever. But the food is always really good. Not outstanding mind you. But consistent and good. I often have the chicken marsala. The fish special is always good. The mixed greens have a really basic oil herb dressing that is light and delicious. I love that salad. The drinks are always spot on too. In the summer they even have a deck to sit out in back. This new up and coming neighborhood is a great find!

Went looking for a great steak. It was tender, but tasteless, other than the burnt taste of the grill. Salt did not help much. The "french fries" were soggy, burnt, tasteless medallions. I remembered liking it a bit better many years ago. It was also a bit spendy for what we received. ($25.00)
