Nummers! Me and my homie went to the Toro Lounge last month on an awesome Restaurant.com dealio. So I'm like "Girl, we have to spend $17 EACH on food to get this deal, so let's do the damn thing!," which was neat because I like trying a lil of everything. They were still on winter menu status, and I had the naan with hummus (ok, not as good as the kalamata tapenade she tried), the Caesar (nice chunk of Romaine with drizzled dressing/toppings), and the chicken wings (holy MOLY crunchy, spicy, delicioso). Plus--of course--we had to try out a couple o' brews; though after my first $5 flight (of 4 tastes), EVERYTHING was tip-toppity :) Good work on server Tim, he really kept up with the pace of the crowd (which wasn't too bad for a Thursday evening, but still, he was on it). Definitely recommended!

Great food, Fun to share dishes. Service was excellent, accommodating, and attentive. Tim was an excellent waiter!!!

The only redeeming quality about this place is their food tastes great. I've been there several times, and the wait staff is always rude. This morning we went for brunch, and two people in our party waited ten minutes longer than the rest of us to get their food. There were 6 of us, and the waitress automatically added an 18% gratuity. For what?? The build your own Bloody Mary bar that required me to add unremarkable ingredients to vodka myself? Definitely not going there again. A total waste of time and money.

I attended Kitsap Brewers Night at Toro on November 17 with some friends. I hadn't been to Toro before, but they lured me in with promises of "all the Kitsap Breweries on tap at one pub for the first time." The lounge was very crowded because of the event, but we were seated very quickly, so no complaints there. The ambiance of Toro is fantastic - the decor is modern and "classic lounge" at the same time, and the art on the walls is produced by local artists. Our server was very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the many beers they had on tap. The menu is impressive and it's obvious that a lot of care and thought was poured into developing it. The quality of the food was phenomenal and exactly what I expect from an upscale tapas lounge. Drinks are priced reasonably ($4 beers all day?! $5 beer flights?! heck yes!) and there are a few menu items that won't break the bank. Overall, the pricing is pretty standard for a tapas bar, and by that I mean that it isn't necessarily a great value per volume, but definitely a great value in terms of taste and quality.

I've had some great times at Toro Lounge. The menu, which changes seasonally, is delicious. The atmosphere/ambiance is fantastic - very un "Bremerton" and I'm hoping other places in Bremerton get a clue and it catches on like wildfire. My favorite was the Tri-tip, which has since left the menu but I hope it comes back someday...and my favorite wine was the Kiona. Toro is a must-try!

I really like Toro. The cocktails are DELISH and I really enjoy the small plates (tapas). The small plates are small, so order a few to share. I always order the chocolate martini when I come here. It is the best in town.

Welcome to Kitsap, Toro! We need more creative, imaginative restaurants out here! The ambiance was the first thing I noticed. Slightly lofty/industrial feeling but still had really warm woods and felt comfortable and inviting. The selection of booths, lounge seating, and bar seating also ensured anyone could be comfortable! The beer is the first thing I'll mention. They have a great selection of on tap beers to choose from and all are at a phenomenal price! They get huge kuddos for having Monk's Indiscretion on tap (definitely order that if you go, it's probably my favorite beer!) and in general I was impressed with what they offered. Ali V. and I ordered a fair amount of food and I have to say most items delivered on flavor and quality. The tri-tip steak I had was probably the highlight of the night. The meat itself was cooked well and the green Chimichurri sauce it was served with was divine. I thought the sauce was super flavorful and had a great balance of tang, slightly sweet, and slightly spicy and the fries (which were perfectly fried) I ordered were amazing when dipped in this sauce. They seriously should serve that sauce with everything! It was delicious (and definitely better than the curry ketchup served with the fries). The pizza Ali and I split was deceptively filling! On first glance it didn't look that big but we got incredibly full partway through. We had the fennel sausage pizza and the sausage was to die for and the crust was surprisingly awesome... I'd say it's the best pizza I've had in Kitsap. The fried tofu starter we had was also delicious. The tofu was crispy and perfectly fried. The scallions and peanut sauce accompanying the tofu paired well. The bread pudding we had to end the night was awesome as well. The denseness of the sourdough they use was perfect and I really enjoyed the fact that it wasn't excessively sweet. The two misses about this place (besides mediocre curry ketchup) would have to be the service and the fig/mascarpone/prosciutto starter I had. I think the mascarpone was a little too mellow and subtle and there definitely was not enough prosciutto to cut the immense sweetness of the fig. I think a tangier cheese like goat cheese and perhaps more saltiness from more prosciutto would greatly enhance the dish. It was way too sweet as it was. Service was also sort of spotty and it was somewhat inattentive. Our server was new, and she was nice so no major deductions for that... I just hope service is better next time.

Very limited menu but very good local beer. Probably the most hip and trendy place you will find in Bremerton. Went their twice, and being from DC, was the closet establishment I could find to those around my house. Menu is creative and good beer. Cannot go wrong with that.

Kudos to Mike and Carlos for taking the leap of faith for Bremerton. I think this bar/restaurant has a lot of potential and I love seeing a restaurant that tries to set itself apart from the others show up in Bremerton. The ambiance is nice. You have your choice of sitting in a cafe style chair setup, a cozy booth, or an open table. There's two TVs over the bar area that show sports so it's a place you can go to on your own. The music is pretty calm and relaxing, not too loud and doesn't interfere with your conversation or distract from the meal itself. The place was about a third full when I visited and it was a bit warm but didn't feel overcrowded or too noisy. The menu is quite varied. It's nice to see more than your typical burger, steak, and seafood place show up in Bremerton. Frankly, I think if you want those, you're better off visiting Silverdale. However, that's where Toro Lounge sets itself apart and I hope they continue to work their menu to keep it different enough to make it worth venturing away from the well established restaurants. This evening I tried their figs with mascarpone and crispy prosciutto, whole grilled artichoke, and lamb sliders. It was all tasty, but I just felt like everything could have used a little something extra to make it from okay to awesome. It's the first time I've really had figs as the highlight of a dish and, while not super flavorful, they were a nice change in pace. The crispy prociutto was perfect for giving the little edge that lacked in the figs. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't really a fan of the grilled artichoke. I didn't really see how it was any different from if I had bought an artichoke from the supermarket and thrown it on the grill. Not to mention, an artichoke is an interesting vegetable to eat and can be a bit time consuming or awkward. If you have the time and just want something slow to munch on, I suppose it would be a good choice. However, it is definitely not filling. The lamb sliders were delicious. They were very minimal in style. That is, three lamb burgers in between what appears to be homemade buns with a hint of horse radish. Nothing more. They're great for a quick snack as well. The alcohol selecting is pretty much standard from what I've seen from other bars in the area. Toro does a pretty good job of stocking beers and wines that are local to the area. It feels like a pretty hip place, but I saw people from all walks of life show up so there really doesn't seem to be any sort of dress code or clientele that Toro is specifically targetting. Overall, it's a pretty cool place to hang and chill with some friends. They didn't have their hours posted, but they were open pretty late tonight.

You are either going to leave hungry or broke. That being said, the atmosphere is very nice and fits in with the vision of the "revitalized" downtown Bremerton. Rich woods and spacious, comfortable seating. Our server was solid but not spectacular. You can't beat the price on the beer at a restaurant. A pint of Ridgetop Red for $4? I pay that at the supermarket - it's nice to see the value and is probably what got me in the door. The food is hit or miss. While everything looks fantastic and modern, the tastes are inconsistent. Of the menu we have tried so far: The mozzarella and roasted pepper salad was very bland. Because of the lack of 'wow' factor, for 5 thin slices of mozzarella, five basil leaves and 3 mini roasted peppers the price was not justified. The mole' chicken skewers were all over the place. The star of the dish was the tablespoon of vegetables (pickled onions and peppers). The mole' was unable to counter the complete lack of discernible seasoning on the chicken skewers (2) which may weigh an ounce and a half each. In short, the first bite with all 3 ingredients is an interesting mix on your pallet. After that it's just very bland chicken and lackluster mole'. The naan bread was good, as was the roasted red pepper/rosemary sauce. The portion size on the sauce was insufficient for the bread, however. Overall a decent value. The lamb sliders were AMAZING. The rolls were magnificent, and the sauce really complimented the richness of the lamb. This dish alone is worth the 3rd star of my rating, although I'd love to see the portion size bumped up to 4 sliders. These alone justify a future visit. It's tapas. I get it. Tapas is meant to be shared - and there has to be enough on the plate to facilitate that.

Wow, shades of West Seattle in Bremerton! Love it. Reminded me a lot of West Seattle, Alki atmosphere. Nice small bites, beer and bar selection is better than average. Nice spot just before a movie or show at Admiral.

Our dining experience redeemed our day. We started w/ papas fritas (chubby yukon fries served w/ curried ketchup) and bread that was served w/ whole roasted cloves of garlic in oil, balsamic, and hot chili flakes. Their fried chicken (alas de pollo frito) was crispy and light. My husband ordered piquillos rellenos, roasted red peppers with a ricotta filling that was delightful! He also had the beef empanadas and I finished w/ lamb sliders... but perhaps my favorite thing tonight was their roasted beet salad. It came w/ a pinkish cream sauce and shaved manchego cheese that, altogether, was perfectly balanced and surprisingly refreshing. The food was executed so beautifully that it made up for the fact that sometimes it sat on the kitchen bar a little too long because our server was chatting it up with other guests.

really dark place. hard to read the menu. had the lamb sliders. not as good as i make at home, and not much effort put into them. the buns were the same as white castles and the sauce was pretty bland. i would suggest to up scale them with a hard roll and some greek sauce, maybe a few red onions or peppers. service was fair, nothing to exciting about it. good beer selection though. overall just Okay. better than the Bremerton Bar and Grill by far.

I was super excited to try this place out as I always struggle to find good places to eat in this area. I have a hard time imagining a tapas place in downtown bremerton being successful, but it did seem to be doing well. This area looks like a ghost town on a weekend night, which made parking plentiful, but street signage was confusing. Apparently this is in fact a lounge, not a restaurant, so no under 21's allowed. My friend was happy to find the gluten free items clearly marked on the menu. I found the beer selection to be pretty impressive, but did not see the seasonals listed on the chalkboard as stated in the menu. I was a big fan of the hazelnut appetizer and in fact had two orders. My other friend enjoyed her expensive mixed drinks. There were a few problems with our orders, but they were taken care of. There was also a lack of toilet paper in the bathroom, but eventually this was remedied as well. One of the stalls is ridiculously small though. Overall, it was a fun but expensive experience, which I am not sure if I would care to repeat, it does look like I may be in the minority though as I notice a large amount of 4 and 5 star reviews.

Best food and beer in Bremerton! The truffle fries were a bit overpowered by the curry ketchup, but everything else we sampled (and it was a lot) exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommend the stuffed dates and chorizo mussels.

It's about time Bremerton got a place like this! $4 micro pints and the perfect sized tapas plates make Toro a fun place to meet friends for drinks or have a nice night out. I love the upscale atmosphere and the emphasis on local cuisine. My hubs and I have only had one bad experience there and they offered a free dessert to make up for it. It's a great addition to downtown Bremerton.

I definitely liked all the tapas that I tried- jalapeno stuffed prosciutto, ceviche, and sausage pizza-- yum! And $3 microbrews was an awesome deal!

I can't eat here enough! My husband and I have had many a date night in this romantically lit lounge. My husband does not drink, and I only occasionally have a cocktail, but I make it a point to at least order one here! You will NOT be offered a giant syrup filled Appletini with your endless fries at this place! Instead you will be offered a fresh squeezed fruit (whatever is in season) artfully made cocktail. I have literally never ordered a drink off the menu. I just ask the bartender what's good. He asks what I like and brings back the most fantastic thing I have ever drank. No matter what food you order (you can't go wrong with lamb sliders, bacon wrapped dates, steamed mussels... ect) make sure you try their bread pudding for dessert!!! It's ridiculously fluffy and full of comforting, not to sweet, goodness. The only reason there is4 out of 5 is as good at the drinks are I can't help but be surprised when I find out how much they are. Hence not finding a price on the menu...

I was in Bremerton for a wedding, and this was the only bar open near the reception venue at 3pm on a Saturday, so I decided to go in for a drink and watch football. I was pleasantly surprised! The bartender was very friendly and the food portions were generous - especially for the Caesar salad! There were a lot of good beers on tap and again the bartender was very friendly and helpful in making recommendations on local beers. If I'm ever back in Bremerton, I will revisit this bar. Great atmosphere, great food, great beer...what more does one want?! Oh, and they have a sweet patio for outdoor seating that would be just divine in the summer months!

I'm moving to downtown Bremerton soon and I've stopped in here a couple of times. The food is great (oh how I loved that roasted potato soup), the beer selection is significant and the service is friendly. Places like this will help downtown Bremerton grow. The food and the atmosphere feel "metropolitan" but the service feels pretty "down home." I'll be back - a lot.

I miss this place! Such an amazing upscale bar that is definitely making bremerton better. And at only $4 for a pint micro its got awesome pricing!

Went here recently with husband and sister. Drinks were FANtastic! You could actually taste the alcohol which is the point - no - of drinks? No watery, etc., just excellent. Pork tacos, fiberts (hazelnuts), beet salad, etc. all were very very good. Service was excellent. Anyone coming over on the ferry should take a short walk uptown to go to this place but it'll have to be after 4:00 p.m. because they don't open until then. Who would figure in Bremerton you would find such a good, inviting, and upscale place. Be aware - they DO charge Seattle prices for drinks, i.e., $8-$10 per - but since, like I said, there's alcohol in them - guess it's worth it. Tapas are reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back and try one of their pizzas!

Stopped in for a leisurely dinner on the way to an event, and really enjoyed the meal and service. The dishes were all excellent - rosemary hazelnuts, beet salad, empanadas, naan bread, mussels and some truly divine lamb sliders. We had a couple of cocktails (an Old Fashioned and a Lemon Drop), and both were absolutely superb.

Came in after the Blackberry festival. I'd been meaning to try it for a few weeks just never got in there. It is great though. We started with the French fries with curried catsup - great! The waitress was really great to suggest a beer I might like. It would be nice to see a description on the menu, but not a big deal. I had the pizza with sausage and artichoke and it was great. No cheap tomato sauce but real crushed tomatoes that didn't over-power the rest of the flavor. Crust was dine to perfection. My fiancée had the lamb sliders and really liked them. We had the blackberry cream puffs (can remember the actual name if them) and they were perfection. Not too sweet even though that can be a problem with blackberries. The music was great and at the perfect balance where you could hear it but still talk at a normal level. There are a couple TVs over the bar that is great to catch the games but it doesn't feel like a sports bar. It's a great chill place and I look forward to returning and trying out something else on the menu.

Easily one of my favorite places to eat in Bremerton. I normally come for happy hour which is fairly priced for appetizers, beer, wine, and select mix drinks. I love the atmosphere in this place. Feels like it should be in Seattle. It's nice to have a place in Bremerton that's classy and serves great food and drinks.

Found this place as I was walking downtown one afternoon. I like the idea of small plates so I decided to give it a try. They have done a great job of giving downtown Bremerton a facelift with restaurants like this. Very nice decor and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a lunch special with two items for just $10. I tried the Venus Salad and Chicken Empanadas. Both were excellent. I will come again with friends so we can try all the choices on the Tapas menu.

Tonight's visit to the Toro was my first, so I should probably go again, to be fair. The food was only so-so . . . not bad, but not really all that good, either. Each one of those stars, were earned, though, by our tender, Tim. Tim was amazing!!! Very thoughtful and tuned in to our needs. His subtle humor made our visit fun. He is the type of bartender who belongs in a classy establishment. The Toro has a great atmosphere, but needs more flavor ? spice? more something ????? to make the complete experience beyond average.

You wouldn't think to find such an eclectic place in Bremerton! The menu is carefully and inventively selected. The Happy hour menu can't be beat! And the beers!! Monks indescretion!! I hope the neighborhood will appreciate this place for what it is.. Refreshing!

I had a light dinner here last night. Very nicely laid out, with pleasant ambiance (good music, not too loud). Service was prompt and friendly. The naan and tapenade was decent. I had a very good tri-tip with chimichurri. Beer and wine are attractively priced. It's probably not the most authentic tapas experience (I've never been to Spain so I'm just guessing), but it's a very welcome addition to the food scene in Kitsap County.

  • Craig T.

We grabbed a quick bite before a show at a nearby theatre. Lamb sliders were eye-popping (and bowled over a hard-to-impress companion), and rockfish and fries was perfectly cooked and delightfully seasoned. Good food, good service, innovative menu. Yum!

  • Jeremy M.

Rare combination of cool atmosphere, friendly staff, and very good upscale food. It's a tapas bar-and-restaurant concept (small to medium plates) with food from beyond Spain. I caught the tail end of happy hour and got a hefeweizen from the Northwest, Avellanas Tostadas (roasted hazelnuts with rosemary sea salt), veggie empanadas, and Piquillos Rellenos (roasted piquillo peppers stuffed with herbed ricotta). The hefeweizen was good, a little heavier than some others. The hazelnuts were addictive, with just enough salt (I don't like much salt on roasted nuts). The empanadas were very good, if a little dry; the accompanying fresh pico de gallo was tasty and not too spicy. The rellenos were quite good: the combination of ricotta cheese and roasted red peppers in a red sauce worked well. They did a great job on presentation of dishes. There wasn't too big of a crowd (though this was a Tuesday night); this place should be packed with all it has to offer!

This place is fantastic! Some of the best food anywhere... and it is in Bremerton. It has a very creative menu. Try the Grilled Tri-tip with Chimichurri. Outrageous. In addition, I like the service and ambience.

  • Michael R.

Absolutely fantastic. Great place to share with friends. Could probably eat by yourself or with one other person, but you would not get to experience all the wonderful flavors this place has to offer. That is unless you are really hungry!

  • Blair V.

I'm giving this place 4 stars because I like the atmosphere and location. The food was ok, except they burnt my lamb slider. My husband got a beer (all beers only $4) I got a bloody Mary which was awesome and made by my favorite bartender Jessica, but the second bloody mary I got a different bartender made and that one kinda sucked.

I took my wife there for our Friday date night. Usually we go to Poulsbo and combine a meal with a movie. This time we decided to go to Bremerton and do the Meal and a Movie thing. We picked Toro's because I had heard good things about it from a friend. I couldn't be happier. The food was great and others can explain that better than I in the previous reviews. What I would like to focus on was the outstanding service. The place was packed on a Friday evening. Every table looked like they were enjoying themselves. We were greeted and seated in a very friendly and polite manner. A cross between familiar and formal. Our server took our order and we sat and chatted. This is where they excelled. I made a comment when our food arrived that it seemed to have taken a little longer than usual. I made this comment without thinking about how long it had really taken (trying to time our movie). The manager arrived in short order, talked about my concern again in a familiar and formal manner that was not condescending and assured that we would make our movie. Our server came and addressed the same issue. Service is a big factor for me when I dine. I stopped going to Silver City because the one time impeccable service declined. Toro's has that outstanding service and great food that makes you want to go there every day just to make you feel beter about yourself and the goodness of others. BTW. you only have to park your car once with no problem finding parking. You can walk to the theater (movie or Admiral) and it ensures that your going to have a good time. I'm going to be shifting to Bremerton for my entertainment.

Got the trip-tip and it was bomb. People say this place is expensive, but I don't think so. I got two appetizers, the trip tip and two quality draft beers for less than 30 bucks.

Lots of detail on others' reviews so I'll be brief: Food was delicious! Portions were too small to share tho. Presentation was a little lacking. The lamb (OMG delicious and juicy) should be shaped differently IMHO to fit the buns better and the beef was just kind of... there... Unimpressive. Delicious, you understand, but unimpressively displayed. Prices are higher than other places but my man and I would be happy to stop in for a light meal and a drink. The atmosphere is great, and I'm sure that the servers (I had the same experience) will get better with the equipment in short order. That's just one of the perils of going to a new restaurant, right? Looking forward to posting another review in a few months after they get some of the bugs worked out.

The hubs and I love this place so much, we refused to tell our foody daughter and her hubby about it, so we could keep it to ourselves. We first became addicted to the bacon-wrapped dates (crack date-night food), then came the lamb sliders, I can't even put words to the pizza and the truffle fries are amazeballs. Yeah, we adore this place. Just a wee bit.

Stopped by after art walk one night to check the place out. I really love this place for Bremerton but it still it still has some early kinks to work out. I like the decor, it's loungy and comfortable but the undeccorated white wall sort of distracts from the whole thing. Beer is actually fairly priced for microbrews. 4 dollar pints of Sound Brewing Beers made me really happy and I would come back again just for them. I ordered some fries which were pretty good, but the slice of pizza that I had from a friend had too much pepper on the bottom, soggy in the middle, and missing the attention to detail that would have elevated this pizza to something special. I tried some of my friend's vegan food (it's bread) and enjoyed it about as much as I can enjoy bread. Service was kind, but we recieved someone elses pizza at first and it almost seemed overstaffed. I'm still pretty confident in the quality of this place making this one of the best places to lounge in Bremerton. I'll be coming back frequently.

I went here on a date with my husband. I like the look of the place. There aren't really other places with this kind of feel in Bremerton, at least I haven't found any. The food was delicious. The drinks were tasty and strong, but not too strong. If you are going to eat here, just remember that it is a tapas place, so don't expect to be able to order a big meal. The server/bartender was very nice.

  • Ht S.

really wanted to like the place. worst 'blackberry mojito' i have ever had - even worst mojito. no liquor in it, could not taste any blackberry, and i wanted to drink my drink, not eat a salad of mint in ice. just nasty. overpriced for what you get. dinner partner wanted to try lamb sliders...which they just ran out of. not happy about that - that was the MAIN reason for going to this place. pizza was just ok and TINY for $9. they did try to make the mojito better but it was not savable. they did honor yelp deal on saturday since we did not read the fine print. would not try again. not sure why all the 5 stars - maybe just the fact that it is different....

Wouldn't necessarily stack up next to Seattle tapas fare but very good for Bremerton, and I hope they stick around. The server was very supportive in terms of suggestions but way overly solicitous and seeking of compliments. She checked on us no fewer than 10 times and frequently when my fellow diner and I were engrossed in conversation. That being said, she was readily available the one time we did seek her out. The mushrooms were fantastic, the pizza was a bit doughy, the naan wasn't really naan-like. The caprese was very good. Most notable was the desert flight. Wow! And that we were given an additional serving of Makers Mark sauce to go with the bread pudding was fantastic. The poached pear was good, the flan, was better, but the bread pudding was awesome. I'd go again but would hope for a little less intrusion. It seemed like there was a lot of effort to get us to come back before we'd actually enjoyed the meal.

A fantastic new bar in Downtown Bremerton, a short walk from the ferry terminal, specializing in draft beer and finger foods. I went with a party of six; we sampled almost everything on the menu. Our favorites included the stuffed peppers, figs, and bread pudding... and round after round of their unique, Yukon gold french fries.

The food I had was excellent but the menu and service was atrocious. About the menu. First you must know that the menu is very limited even when they have everything on it. For entrées it consists of sandwiches (choice of BLT or chicken), tacos, pizza and dessert. We were informed when we arrived that they didn't offer pizza that evening and if you wanted tacos it would be a 20 minute wait because they were not done cooking the meat. So, long story short had the choice of BLT or chicken. I wanted neither so I had lamb sliders with caramelized onions. They were very good but I had to order a side order of fries because it didn't come with anything on the side. My wife had a chicken sandwich. It was nothing to write home about. Back to the drinks. My wife had a lemon drop. The first one was good. After she finished it our waitress asked if she wanted another. So another was ordered and after 15 minute in a pretty much empty restaurant, nothing. Our waitress was busy texting or playing games on her phone. Eventually the bartender asked if we needed anything and we requested the lemon drop. The second one was just so-so. There was jalapeño dip on the menu and we were looking forward to that, but nope! Didn't have any! We bought gift cards for this establishment (that's how we budget dinner out). We will be giving the other $50 away. Not going back. Also, as we were about to leave, an hour after we arrived, more patrons came in and we overheard the waitress telling them that if they want tacos it would be a 20 minute wait because they were still cooking the meat. I think that was just a line they told everyone.

Absolutely prompt, attentive and friendly service. Great beer selection, and the meat and cheese tray may seem pricey but it's a great deal of food - very tasty.

Good for drinks and appetizers. Menu is small and staff was alright, no complaints, but not also nothing ground breaking. I'd rather head to Der Blokken, you get so much more!

Great selection of brews...really poor service. Waited 15 minutes on a Wednesday early evening before I had to get up to ask a waitress if I could get some menus and a drink. Throughout our two hours there we had really poor service throughout. Had to call waitress and hostess over for two of our three drinks. Disappointing to say the least.

Excellent food and service. Could not be more pleased with the atmosphere and quality of the table settings. A very sophisticated joint which adds a hip flair in beverage choices and comida. Only slightly disappointed that they're no longer offering mostly Spanish/Hispanic dishes. The lamb sliders are the best! All in all, we had a very good experience and we're looking forward to seeing more new menu choices.

Toro Lounge is another great spot in downtown Bremerton and is Kitsap's only gastro pub that I am aware of. The ambiance is good and there is a variety of seating options for you to choose from. Bar stools to lounge type seating in addition to the normal table and booth set up. Its a warm and casual atmosphere with a friendly staff that looked well groomed and dressed sharp. I selected a seat at the bar as I wanted to see the chef work in the kitchen. Bartender promptly took my food and drink order, he was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. I selected their new menu item the Truffle Cheese-stuffed steak with garlic fries for my main course and as a appetizer I selected the bacon wrapped scallops. Both choices were great, but the steak was by far the best. It was cooked perfectly and I wanted to have another five. Afterwards I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and talking about their goal to locally source their menu items. Even if you've been here before you have to come back as the menu is always changing and making new tasty plates. Come on down and support a locally owned and sourced place, you will enjoy it.

I'm not sure I enjoyed my date night here at Toro Lounge enough to give more than three stars. It's okay though, just not an experience I'd share with others in a positive light, nor would I necessarily encourage them to visit. We were greeted when we walked in by a guy that came out of nowhere, telling us we wouldn't get food before the show. We told him we weren't going to a show so he sat us, informing us the food would take at least 30 minutes. We were looking forward to just enjoying each others company and not in a hurry so we sat. Our server walked up on her cell phone, which for first time visitors is odd. Since this is new in the industry, we should have been warned before she walked up, appearing to be texting and ignoring us! It's nice that orders can go in so fast but maybe having the cell phone in an order book would look more professional. It was early on a Friday night and yet they were out of pizzas and stuffed mushrooms. The menu is pretty limited any way so removing 4 items made it even harder to find what we wanted. As other reviewers have stated, it's quite pricey too. For example, the salami plate is $14 and quite small (4 slices of meat, 4 wedges of sliced cheese, 4 crostinis, 4 olives and a tablespoon of Gorgonzola) and the Open Grilled Cheese was $9 for 4 slices of crostini with cheese and onions. They're real close to full meal prices for very small portions! The Carne Asada Tacos are very very dry with a double corn shell and a tiny little line of the promised Avocado Mousse while the Garlic Shrimp is salty and huge on garlic! All in all, the food is good and the service is good. The drinks were spot on and mixed perfectly. It's a very loud and happening place in the ever improving downtown Bremerton.

For Bremerton, this is definitely THE BEST spot in town! The food here is EXCELLENT!!! My husband had both orders of tacos, I had the lamb sliders with truffle fries. We shared the cheesecake for dessert. The cook really does know what she's doing! There's also 20 beers on tap. I will be back for sure!

Planned a night out for a friends birthday dinner and a movie. We checked out the menu online everything sounded fantastic I was so excited I chose what I wanted based on the menu online what a disappointment when we got there. The actual menu less than half of what was online to include nothing I had chosen. Table of 5 three out of 5 order Carne Asada when the food comes out 2 Carne Asadas arrive along with the other two entrées ordered so everyone waits to eat and waits and waits and waits and waits some more finally the third Carne Asada comes out and we ask ourselves you have an order for three of the same dishes why wouldn't you prepare them all at the same time. Service...what service? Food was good nothing to brag about. I won't be dining here again.

Really enjoyed finding this place! We had both the truffle fries and the garlic fries, both really good. Beers were good, margarita was good and service was great. Atmosphere is casual and there's a patio.

All-in-all I like the Toro Lounge. The wait staff is friendly and it is one of the few good places to eat in Bremerton. That is if they don't run out of food. On a Saturday night, at the start of their nightly happy hour, they were completely out of: -Fries including their truffle and sweet potato -Pizza, that's all three pizzas on the menu -Hot sauce, they had one green well-used Tabasco left And apparently a couple of other appetizers as well, but being tired and hungry we stopped the poor waitress's litany and snagged two dishes that were available. I get things happen. Likely there was an event or some sort of rush, but it's horrible planning on management's part. Especially with no offer of sides to substitute.

We made reservations. Sat down at the table, reviewed the small menu. They were out of everything we wanted to order. The crab stuffed mushrooms, lamb sliders, cod tacos and Caesar salad. On Valentine's Day. At 745pm. Beer served in a wine glass. What? Unbelievable. Won't be back.

0 Stars. Service was terrible. The waitress/bartender let my FH's drink cup sit empty for at least ten minutes! And to think we'd sat at the bar to get quicker service. :-\ She also never asked how the drinks or food were, or if she could get us anything. Not outright rude, just awful at her job. And the food. :-( The jalapeno cheese dip was just lukewarm, didn't even melt the parmesan on top! And it was bland, you could get that at any old Mexican restaurant. The carne asada tacos were dry, and bland. The black bean sliders looked promising, but were also plain. The mixed drink (a strawberry mint julep) barely had any mint in it, and wasn't worth ordering. The merlot they had on hand was also not worth drinking. Velvet Devil, or something. Beer selection was ok. Not impressed, we will never go back. Don't go here!

Awesome service! Especially tasty choice of beers on tap. We were here for happy hour and will be back! This is the place to go if you want to have a good beer in a classy environment. Loving it. Don't waste your time looking for other places.

I like the idea of this place for Bremerton but after 3 tries I'm ready to give up! Service is always slow. The last two times our group waited twenty plus minutes to have someone take our drink orders. The staff is friendly once they get to you but if they don't want to see you , they won't. The food is fine & definitely not things you'll find at too many other restaurants in the area but it's not out of this world good and certainly not worth the repetitively slow service. It'd be great for this place to step their service game up but until that time I'm out.

    (2)
  • Regina F.

It's fine. Bit too dark and food is random depending on the cook of the night. SLOW service. Been here a few times,(been two months since I was last) will try one more time to see if their changes recently made a difference.

I've been here now a couple of times to have a late dinner after work and the food is always good, and the drinks are strong. There is always some food that they are out of which is a bummer.

Biggest complaints are the entire menu seems overpriced. $5 beers and slightly above-average food; I ordered some white pizza and it was good but not special, boyfriend ordered the pork tacos and says they were tasty. Only other complaint, we were the only people in eating on a slow monday night (party of 14) and everyone's food came out at different times. Being a cook, I know I could have had all plates out at the same time all by myself. I wasnt impressed, considering I had heard good things about this place. But the interior is really nice, and the service was very good.

Took my sweetie here the other day for happy hour not really knowing what to expect. We like to try new places and after having read some good reviews decided to give it a shot. All I can say is don't hesitate. If you haven't been here yet you deserve to spoil yourself a little and go enjoy a Tapas plate and a drink. I even used the Yelp app to check in and got 50% off my second Tapas plate! Yay Yelp! The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. The lamb sliders were excellent and the artichoke dip fresh and flavorful. This is quite simply a great place to relax and have a light dinner and a drink after a long day, heck, it's even a great place after a short day! Either way you will not be disappointed to end your day here so go check it out, you owe it to yourself.

Um this place was amazing.... I am a very picky eater but decided to try a little of everything we ordered and I was in heaven. Pizza... yum... pork tacos... yum.. garlic fries... yum... bacon blue cheese sliders... amazing.. I will definitely come back for more. Service was slow but that happens.. and one in our party never got her stuffed mushrooms and was not comp'd for it but it is what it is.

Since the man of the house was shipping out, we decided on Toro for our date before the sea whisked him away. It happened to be the Bremerton Art Walk which was.... Well, if you're the "go to bed at 9 pm" sort, it may well be your thing. I often wonder if the restaurants in Kitsap close so early on weekends because the cab service is nonexistent here, but I digress. I very much enjoyed both of my cocktails and look forward to more fun gin drinks being put on the menu. I found the bacon wrapped dates to be overly sweet, though the brush of balsamic reduction rescued one. More of that on the plate, please! The lamb sliders were to diiiiiiie for. Cannot recommend highly enough. We tried the dessert trio and can tell you with some confidence to ignore the bread pudding. I love the stuff, but this was not its best rendition. The flan, however, was definitely worth a full size dessert in the future. We'll be back to try some more fun dishes and northwesty microbrews in the future!

Enjoyed myself while in town on business. Nice quiet ambiance on a Tues night. This place would also be perfect for an intimate date night. Had the roasted hazelnuts, smoked salmon crustini, bacon wrapped melon, bread pudding, and wine flight. Every dish was excellently executed. I was very impressed. For the wine flight you are supposed to pick 4 of their by-the-glass wines, but I just told the bartender to surprise me. I enjoyed every selection. Very reasonable for a tapas bar, and great attention to detail. Service was very speedy at the bar, and I enjoyed the bartender as well. For lunch they have a special: any 2 items from their lunch menu for $10 from 11am to 3pm, Monday - Friday. HAPPY HOUR is 3pm - 7pm Mon-Thurs, $3 microbrews among other things.

I always make a point to stop in the Toro Lounge when checking on my rental property in Kitsap. Never disappointed, the food is great, perfect portion sizes to try many things. The drinks are great and people seem genuinely happy to be there. Great place to stop before seeing a movie or a live show at the Admiral. Bremerton is very fortunate to have the Toro Lounge!

The food and drinks are tasty, but it's a little expensive for the quantity. The Mexican spot across the street has tacos that are cheaper and equally as good. I kinda felt like the menu left a little to be desired. Online I saw pictures of bacon-wrapped dates and other cool stuff. When I got there I saw a menu with pretty standard pub fare. Overall, pretty meh.

  • Mazie M.

The food here was overpriced, small portions, and not great. I had the scallops, and they were burnt. The fries were okay. The dessert trio was just meh. My coworkers were not impressed with their food either. The bacon wrapped dates were also burnt, and the pizza was bland. The cocktails were weak and did not seem like a good value. Three out of four of us were sick to our stomachs that evening and all the next day. Definitely not a good experience or worth it. The servers ignored us and didn't make any suggestions about what to order. Maybe it was an off night. We did enjoy the building and the overall atmosphere.

Great food! Great prices! The atmosphere was really nice. I loved that there are no kids allowed. This makes for a great date night. Service was a bit on the slow side, but the staff was friendly. The portions are large enough to share with friends or eat as a meal, even 5hough it is a tapas style restaurant. Very yummy food!

4 star for Bremerton. The salad good, the sushi good, the tri tip is what made for the lower rating. The tri tip was like eating rubber bands. The desserts were good and a great selection of local brews. Service was very good.

My husband and I came here for a date and ordered the fish tacos. In the description it said there was black bean and corn salsa. When we got the tacos there was a sauce on it but no salsa and it tasted very bland. We asked for the salsa that came with it and the waitress went and asked the kitchen. She came back and said that doesn't come with those tacos. We showed her on the menu where it did and she left to talk to the chef again. She came back and said that was a miss print on the menu and they do not have that salsa and gave us some cut up tomatoes instead. Whatever you order make sure that is really what it comes with. Very pricey for small portions and bland food. We have had great food there before but all of our favorites are no longer on the menu. The waitress did not know the answer to any of our questions. We will not be back.

So Aaron E. and I came here for a lovely dinner and ended up spending way too much. Our bill for 4 beers (2 each), 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a pizza was over $80. For Kitsap, that's a bit steep, but it was mostly worth it. I think we would have been better off just ordering two pizzas. They were quite filling, but that may have also been because ours came at the end of the meal. We got the sausage with artichoke and it was yummy. My fried tofu was pretty good and had a light coating on it which is different than normal. I enjoyed it and the peanut sauce that came with it complimented the tofu nicely. My chicken skewers left a bit to be desired, but mostly in size. The taste was great but for the cost of a larger dish, I would have expected to be more full. The service was a bit slow, but it wasn't the end of the world. Our waitress was getting used to their fancy digital ordering thingys which was ok, but she still didn't come around as often as I would like. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars here. I get tapas. I understand small plates. It's just a bit pricey for what you get. The service isn't great. However, I rounded up since it's a place serving great food in Bremerton, they have a good beer selection, and the food is great.

I was the one in Heather I.'s comment that never got her food. I have been meaning to try this place because my good friend is always raving about it. From the walk in, not impressed. Waited at least 5 minutes to be seated, was not even acknowledged when we walked it for our reservation. Sat down to find my glass dirty with a thick white ring around it, I turned it upside down so the waitress, who we rarely saw, would not fill it. She came, we ordered, asked several times for the mushrooms after receiving all of the other food we ordered. She said several times "they're coming they're coming" and finally came back and said "the kitchen said they were already sent out, is that not true?' With all of the empty dishes stacked on our table, I and everyone in my party can safely say no, they were never delivered. We had to go, she said they were boxing them up for me, we could not bring outside food where we were going so pointless. She brought my bill which had my drink on it only, you think after all that nonsense they could comp my drink, or at least bring back my change and not assume it was a tip. Yes, assume, she didn't ask if I wanted change. And that was my first and last impression of this place. Thanks Toro for not letting me try your crab stuffed mushrooms. Must have been a sign.

A tucked away lounge in the Arts District of Bremerton, this spot offers a warm, red brick, hardwood environment that is a ultra relaxed rendezvous. This lounge offers moderately upscale appetizers and small dishes to lightly insulate your stomach if you plan on drinking and being merry later in the night. I would definitely recommend this place as a pregame spot before hopping on the nearby ferry for a debaucherous night out in Seattle. The beer menu is satisfying, as I had the glass of Monks Indiscretion while sitting outside hearing the faint tune of teardrops from massive attack, accentuated by the faint cawing of seagulls in the air. The only drawback I feel is the unusual wait time on rather small dishes that I had ordered. Which was the Tri tip steak, and empanadas, even with a small crowd inhabiting the establishment. However the dishes were of quality and were presented with attention to detail with all ingredients in play.

Absolutely love this place! Went to happy hour with my hubby and we enjoyed some wonderful food with our drinks. The service is top notch, the setting made me feel like we were in an upscale place in Seattle. Give it a try and save the ferry time!

  • Michael G.

No complaints. Not a huge fan of tapas so I can't give it 5 stars but the anchovies, mussels and grilled cheese were all good enough for 4. The quality is completely unlike typical Bremerton, what I found most refreshing. Inside could be any nice bar in Seattle. Nice selection of local beers on tap and friendly service stood out. My favorite was probably the sauce the mussels were in (celery, carrots, chorizo, etc...) but I don't know if I'd order it again. I was trying to be a little open minded on a Saturday night but I was just reminded there is a reason why I don't eat more mussels. Don't really care for the texture. Big city quality and atmosphere in (bleh) Bremerton. Great spot!

Good quality food, great for sampling more then one or 2 items at a time. Well prepared, very authentic and flavorful. Good service, quick service, great place for al-fresco dining on sunny days over lunch. Not a place to go for a big appetite of course but thats not why you go to Tapa's venue either. Tri tip steak is great, veggie empanada is a great choice for non meat eaters and this coming from a die hard meat lover to! Prices a bit high but the quality justifies it in my mind.

The Toro Lounge offers a pretty laid back atmosphere, good food, and a fairly extensive local beer list. Our waiter was very attentive, prompt, and helpful. I really can't say enough about how good our waiter was. He had an opinion on every beer I was considering and gave us solid recommendations for which dishes to try. We tried several of the tapas offered here: Papas Fritas, Stuffed Dates, Costillas De Res, and the Queso Al Horno. Each dish was tasty and didn't disappoint. I love truffle oil on fries and the Papas Fritas highlighted this for me. The Stuffed Dates provided a sweet compliment to the fries. The Costillas De Res were tender short ribs that packed a lot of flavor. Finally, the Queso Al Horno delivered a cheesy finish to our meal. Combined, the large assortment of beers, tasty tapas, and excellent service, The Toro Lounge is a perfect place for a leisurely meal, date night, or social gathering before catching a movie.

Love this place. We go here on date nights once in a while and just love it. The food is so amazing! Nothing like it in Kitsap County. Tim the bartender is GREAT! Always friendly and helpful about picking out a good beer. We were in last weekend when they had $3 beers on the patio seating and he walked us inside just to try out some of their new taps. You can't get better service than that! AWESOME! We've tried something new on the menu every time we have gone and I haven't had one bad thing. Everything is fresh and so delicious!!!

Bremerton has come a long way in the past few years. This is a delightful little tapas place in the recently revamped downtown area. The service was prompt, and the manager (owner?) checked on us multiple times to be sure we had everything we needed. There was a good selection of beers, and the cocktail list looked creative as well. We ordered several things and they were all great. The only disappointing thing was the small portion of hummus that came with the naan, but that could be a subjective beef -- I'm a bit of a hummus fiend. I'm glad that places like this are brightening up the once blighted area. Keep it up, you guys!

Great local for a nice cocktail in downtown Bremerton. While you're at it, grab one of their excellent pizzas. Gonna watch a movie at the brand new downtown movie theater? Grab a cocktail at Toro first. Feel like taking a ferry boat ride to Seattle from Bremerton? Grab a cocktail at Toro first. Feel like grabbing a cocktail...well go to Toro you idiot (some people are slow learners). This place is a great addition to downtown Bremerton. I only regret that I'm not their more frequently. Hmmm New Years Resolution perhaps...

    (5)
  • Symph J.

Their menu is okay, but doesn't change often. Surprisingly packed on the weekends but all in all okay. Atmosphere is laid back, and the service is always prompt. The beers are good, but they need to offer an updated beer menu, instead of pointing the customers to a dark chalkboard over the entryway. It's hard to see. I do have to say more than once it's been a tad too dark in there, and it makes it hard to see your food. The food is always good, though not very experimental.

I would give this place a five star rating for drinks, three stars for food. My husband and I visited on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky enough to score a patio seat. This was a great spot to people watch in downtown Bremerton. The atmosphere here is great, more sophisticated than you would expect for the area. We ordered four apps off the happy hour menu and I got a Cosmo, my husband the beer flight. The food and drinks arrived very quickly and everything looked great. The food though was forgettable. I think maybe my hopes might have been too high. It just seemed like the food was all slightly bland and the fries were overly greasy. My drink on the other hand was divine. Icy cold and not cloyingly sweet. I believe they use fresh squeezed juices in their cocktails. My husband loved the beer flight and went on to order the red he sampled off it. One high note for the food was the bread pudding. That was perfect. Crisp on the outside, gooey and warm throughout. I highly recommend trying the cocktails here. The bartender knows what he's doing.

Took my wife here last night for both of our first times. The drinks were great. Nice to find a place with so many beers on tap and well crafted cocktails. I had a sazerac and a Manhattan. Perfect! We shared a few small plates. Frites with curry ketchup, lamb sliders, and stuffed dates. All three were fantastic. We will be returning regularly and telling our friends as well.

This place is amazing . I went in on a Friday and so did 20 other people at the same time . I thought I was going to be there forever to get served . Within minutes I had my drink and shortly after my appetizer . The stuffed dates and the quail was amazing . Great happy hour prices for beers on tap , great service , great atmosphere ! I will so go back again :)

Downtown Bremerton has really started to look classy. The Toro Lounge no doubt, is part of it. With it's flavor-concentrated tapas and great craft beer selection, it is ideal for happy hour. It is pretty versatile. Grab a bite for lunch with co-workers or enjoy drinks before or after a movie. It seems like it was uprooted from Seattle and dropped in Bremerton. If they were in Seattle, they would probably be open much later. "Lunch Monday thru Friday 11am-3pm Happy Hour Monday thru Thursday 3pm-7pm Open Saturday 4pm, Closed on Sundays Closing variable but never before 9pm* *Except special situations and weather permitting."

Food was really good a little bit over priced and that would have been fine except the food was not served at the same time. My friend had to watch me eat and then I has to watch him. Wait staff was nice, fast, and new her stuff but again food service times were off. Beer was good

If you want to have a variety of food in one sitting, Toro Lounge is place to go to. Serving many small plates with many different flavors that seemingly for all over the world, they have it. From pizzas to lamb sliders to empanadas and to even there papas fritas are amazing. Add on top of that, twenty taps of NW Micro brews you can't beat it. Toro has a great atmosphere inside with plenty seating with large parties and many tables outside when the weather is great. They have a nice bar top to sit at as well. Overall one of my favs in Bremerton.

I swung through Bremerton the other day to meet up with some old friends/coworkers and we met up at this new(ish) spot that has since opened from when I last visited. To say that I was surprised would be an understatement. Seeing that La Pan Asian had closed was disheartening but upon entering Toro Lounge and having a couple drinks, those feelings quickly disappeared. I had never known Bremerton to be the most classy place for food/drinks but this place was pretty good, even by Seattle standards. They had a pretty diverse Tapas menu with Italian, American and even a taste of Indian flavors represented. I ordered the Naan dish and the mushrooms which both turned out above average. However, the sampler plate of Salumi meats was really what surprised me. I instantly recognized the Mole and considering the idiotic work schedule I have, Salumi's is a favorite of mine when opportunities arise. The drinks were not terribly special, a little rich for my blood but whatever, I was there to unwind after a long couple of weeks. It was a pleasant experience, fast and friendly service, good ambience and an overall good time. I would consider it one of Kitsap's best bars/lounges.

Hate to give this just a 3 because it was good...so a four it is...but a 3.5 would be spot on. We are lovers of tapas, and were looking forward to our first meal at Toro Lounge. The tapas here are tapas in that the food is served tapas-style - small plates meant to be shared - but very few of the dishes are traditional tapas fare. Not complaining, just sayin '. They did have empanadas on the menu but had run out when we were there. First the general stuff and drinks: Great beer (lots of beers on tap) and wine selections, full bar, and a great location in what's becoming a more-put-together-all-the-time downtown Bremerton. The atmosphere is great with deep comfie dark leather-like booths along two walls, a good traditional bar with stools along the third, a few lower tables with lounge chairs near the front windows that look out onto Pacific, and high pub tables in the center of the room. The kitchen is open and we could see the two chefs working. I had a beer sampler of all darks and my wife enjoyed a stout but yummy cosmo. We ordered four of the small tapas plates and two of the larger. The service was prompt, very courteous, and it was clear the staff knew their regulars yet welcomed us as first timers. The first round of food came in maybe ten minutes. The prosciutto melon balls were delicious, the samon crustini was very good, and the fries with curry ketchup were great - truffle oil and sea salt made them particularly hard to resist. The calimari cakes were dry, but tasty, especially with the aioli sauce. The two larger sized tapas were not as good, the lamb sliders were good but not as wonderful as other reviews lead me to believe, and the pear and goat-cheese pizza was tasty but a bit bland - that's what I get for ordering fruit pizza I suppose when I'm used to spicier meat centered pizza. Desert was our favorite dish - we shared the sour dough bread pudding in Maker's Mark sauce and it was perfect. Great texture, a bit of carmelized deliciousness on bottom, and just right as to taste and sweetness. All in all it was a good meal at a fair price in a good setting.

Hubby and I stopped in finally and soo happy we did! Great place, very nice staff and the Truffle Fries were delicious. We enjoyed a Bordeaux wine that was incredible from Bainbridge Island, they also have many local micro brews on tap. This is definitely our new fav place! Thanks for saving our date night for the movie we saw was horrid! :D

I'm a sucker for lounges and downtown Bremerton on a Tuesday afternoon we visited felt like a Sunday afternoon. Luckily we stopped at Toro on the way back to Seattle.

Absolutely fantastic. Great place to share with friends. Could probably eat by yourself or with one other person, but you would not get to experience all the wonderful flavors this place has to offer. That is unless you are really hungry!

I have to say, this is one of my favorite Bremerton bars and places to grab some great food. However, your hours are ridiculous. Why are you closed on a Saturday night before 11??! Please fix this! Recruit some stellar marketers or... Something! Please stay open!

  • Natasha W.

  • Rodney B.

Really enjoyed finding this place! We had both the truffle fries and the garlic fries, both really good. Beers were good, margarita was good and service was great. Atmosphere is casual and there's a patio.

During the times I frequent here, Tim has primarily been my server. He's outstanding!!! Service, drink quality, a plus. On evenings where others serve, it's inconsistent. Food is fair. Ambiance is great.

4 star for Bremerton. The salad good, the sushi good, the tri tip is what made for the lower rating. The tri tip was like eating rubber bands. The desserts were good and a great selection of local brews. Service was very good.

So Aaron E. and I came here for a lovely dinner and ended up spending way too much.
