I was not impressed. Although the interior looked very fancy (perfectly catered to the business crowd of Bellevue) and the prices were good, I can find better Thai food on the Ave. And, that my friends, is unfortunate indeed. A friend and I shared the Tom Yum soup. A decent size for $8.95 and pretty well flavored. There weren't as many veggies, though there was a good handful of button mushrooms floating on top. For those that don't really like lemongrass though - the soup was overwhelmingly so. The soup though, was really the only good part of my meal. My spicy noodle was a near disaster. I think they focused so much on trying to attain 4 stars with a plethora of red chili pepper flakes that they forgot to actually season the damn thing. It was bland and pretty flavorless. Of course, this could also be due to the fact that the soup prior to that was heavily flavored....but I doubt it. One thing they do really well here though is the chicken. It's tender, even in the soup and the spicy noodle. Oh, and nothing like a random waitress who rudely slams down the check, and whips away your food before you can say anything. Boy, that really makes the experience. P.s. My 4 star spicy noodle was entirely unspicy and would have really only warranted a 2 star on the spiciness scale. Pshhh.

Pad Thai was good, but could have used a bit more umph. The noodles were nice and moist when it came out, but immediately dried up for some reason. I tried a couple of limes on it, but still pretty dry. Last thing I want is a Pad Thai noodle getting stuck on the way down. The egg soup was very nice. They did pass my Pad Thai test, so I'll be back for Garlic Chicken soon. Way better than Chantanee (ouch, it hurts to even type that name) and about equal to Thai Grill.

Tangerine is probably my favorite Thai restaurant... ever. I love cheap and delicious eats AND the candy (Now and Laters) at the end is especially delightful too. I usually get the pad see ew or the basil, I switch off every week or two. I love this place because they serve soup on MWF and salads on TTh, they are quick to take your order AND the food comes out amazingly fast too. I never get sick of eating here! It's random but whenever I plan on eating at Tangerine, not only do I get excited for the food, I always look forward to the Now and Later candies after my meal. I'm not a mint candy fan so I don't like eating mints after my meals but mmm... Now and Laters! :) I've only gone for lunch so it's pretty chill and mostly Expedia employees that frequent the restaurant but the restaurant has a nice, kind of dark ambience which makes me comfortable while I eat my scrumptious Thai food. Hiiiighly recommended!!

Awesome Thai food! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because we asked them to make our food hotter than anything we have ever eaten and they gave us mild...

Only tried them once, but it made me a believer. Great lunch selection. I had the Panang Curry with pork. Lots of food for one person at lunch. Good service and nice presentation.

Best Thai on the eastside, IMHO. Was also the best Thai on the west side till they closed their place in West Seattle :-( On average we go here at least once a week - and I have to say the consistency is impressive. Palace Chicken is AMAZING! I know, I know... deep fried is bad. But, what is so good about theirs is it is crispy, not soggy, great flavor and never greasy. I'm a fan of the green curry as well, and the fried rice really can't be beat. The meat quality is really very good - and I'm about as picky on this as one gets. Can't stand icky grisly, fatty bits and I've never had any of that here. Nice decor but you won't feel uncomfortable in whatever you stumble in wearing. Some days they can get swamped at lunch time but I always take that as a sign of good food and am willing to wait. And if it is summer, do yourself a favor and get the mango sticky rice. And bring me one too while you're at it, okay? ok.

This is okay. I get lunch here because it's very convenient. Good food and quantity for the price. The quality varies though. Sometimes I come here and the food is really good. Other times, it's questionable (but not awful). Also, their star system is really inconsistent. I've ordered 4 stars and gottten a 1-star dish. And vice versa. The staff is friendly and pretty quick with bringing out the orders. The decor is pretty. The smell of this restaurant from outside is terrifying (from a culinary perspective). It is not a testament to how the food tastes.

I am never ordering from this place again after the service I received today. I have been a regular customer, going in there for the past year. I usually order food to take with me, but have also sat down and eaten there by myself and with business clients. Today I was very very disappointed. I come in there and wait for five minutes. I see the employees walking around but no one greets me. A couple of people come up behind me, so the lady finally comes up to the counter but instead of acknowlding me even though im standing right in front, she decides to acknowledge the two people behind me and sit them down. I am surprised as I never received this type of service before. So i tell her I was here first and that I am here to pick up my food order. She goes on to tell me that those who want to be seated get first priority. It was the first time I ever heard of a restaurant doing that. At that point I let her know that I am thinking of changing my mind and she is like oh you can go to a different restaurant its ok in her asian accent..At that point I was ticked off, told her to give me my food signed the receipt and walked out. I called over the phone and asked to speak to the manager. I explained to him what happened and the rude service I received. Instead of apologizing and trying to make it better, he makes excuses for her. I informed him he has lost a regular client and future business clients as I used to brag about the food here. I told him I would be going to their competitor Nibbana from now on for Thai food. He acted as if he didnt care. No customer service at all.

Don't miss their Happy Hour, every day from 3:30-5:30. They have most of their appetizers for half off, and they are full size! Their fried wontons (re: crab rangoon) are so light and delicious - I have never tasted a crab rangoon like this! Also, their side of fried rice, $5, is fabulous. You can't go wrong here - for lunch, dinner or happy hour.

Tangerine Thai is located in the basement of my office building, so you can't beat it for convenience. Well, you can, actually, since we have a cafe of our own a couple floors higher, but I will only eat there when I need something in a panic or if the rest of Bellevue were engulfed in nuclear fallout. Tangerine only opened a couple weeks ago, so it is pretty popular among the Expedia, Nortel, and Pokemon employees that reside upstairs. As a result, there is usually a wait at the noon lunch, but both times I went there, we were seated within 5 minutes. Don't be discouraged: half the people in line are waiting for to-go orders. The decor is tasteful, featuring dark colors and Thai art, and includes a nice waterfall behind the hostess. They made the most of the space, though you can see into part of the bright and unattractive kitchen. Lunches are in the $7-$8 range per plate. The first time I had the Thai basil tofu and the second time the spicy noodles with tofu. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. The brown rice is really hardy and everything is served in attractive dishware. My only complaint is that my soft drink was never refilled at the first visit, and was forgotten and then only refilled after I was done eating at the second visit. Otherwise, great food so far and a place I am sure to frequent in the future.

Let me preface... not a HUGE thai fan but I wanted something warm and yummy for dinner and did NOT want to cook. This was one of the BEST Pad See Ew meals I've ever had! I called for a to go pick up (I'll use their curb side service next time.. parking was tough). But they were very courteous on the phone. I ordered with extra chicken/veggies and light sauce/noodles... in short.. I was a typical snobby Bellevue customer and they made it EXACTLY how I wanted! And with a smile! I got four stars and it was SPICY but good! Whole meal was $10.

Excellent food at an excellent location. The owners are super friendly and the service is consistently A+. I've come to get to know the owners over the years as my wife and I dined there regularly. Over the past couple of years, however,Tangerine Thai has become a great place to meet my friends for dinner and hang out over great food. It's on my way home from Seattle, so it's easy to get to. If you're vegetarian or vegan, there is a lot to choose from. I especially recommend the yellow curry with tofu (amazing!) and the crispy eggplant (unique and tasty).

There's a waitress there that's built like Chun-Li...5 stars! Ok, real review. Weird location tucked beneath the Expedia building, but nice semi-modern decor within. Usually fast service (lunch rush can get slow), big menu, good sized portions, good prices. You can see right into the kitchen from pretty much anywhere in restaurant which always instills some confidence in what you're about to eat. The 4 star heat scale doesn't seem to really yield much heat at all, so if you like spicy go for a 4. But for really real...Chun-Li. I'M OUT!

Continuing on my "Thai food across the Pacific Northwest" Trek... Located at the foot of the Expedia building, I expected this place to be similar to Chantanee (closer to the transit center) - nice decor/ambiance, but slightly too pricey for the average food. We had a large party of 7 there, and while it was not a big place by any means, it was clean and had a quiet ambiance. The foods were well presented, from the sampler plates to the wok noodle dishes and family style curry lamb, and other chicken stir fry options we ordered. One of my favorite things is how colorful they presented the dishes and how the flavors were all very simple yet bold (and not oily). I also love the orange rind/slice garnish. The service was fine and even the parking was free/validated, so I have nothing to complain about. The only tiny negative is that you can see the lobby of Expedia the whole time and it just ruins the atmosphere, IMO. I didn't give it a 5 because it's one of those places where you grab a solid meal but it doesn't have that extra special something to make it a destination you look forward to for a week in advance. Highly recommended and definitely one of the better Thai places anywhere in the NW for sure!

I work in the Expedia building (where Tangerine Thai is located), so I occasionally call in orders for pick-up to eat back at my desk (I think this was my third time). I also ate once in the actual restaurant. Food has always been fine, and there's nothing to complain about. With all the Thai choices in the greater Seattle area, this one's right in the middle I'd say. I write this review today because I received horrible service (1 star for service today, and 3 stars for food). I called in two lunch orders at 12:25, and they told me to come down at 12:50 to pick-up. My coworker and I arrive at 12:50, and are told it'll take 5 more minutes. We sit and wait it out...our food ends up coming out at 1:10, 20 minutes later. I completely understand that they are busy during lunch, but all I ask for is a correct estimate on the time it takes for our food to be ready. The whole reason we called in the order was because we didn't have time to sit down and eat leisurely. Instead, we spent 20 minutes sitting around just waiting. The difference between waiting 5 more minutes vs. 20 minutes is sometimes just how long it takes to make the meal (often when I call in an order, it only takes 15 mins to be ready). So I don't think they had even started making our order yet by the time we got there (25 mins after calling). I complained to the two people at the front that we had to wait way too long today, and they started saying all these things which I understand (lunch rush, only 4 of us working, etc etc). I get all of that, but none of that excuses making us wait so long w/o giving a more accurate time estimate. And they just said "well, I don't know what we can do about that". Uh yea, thanks. With those 20 minutes I could've called in my order and walked to any other restaurant within a few blocks of the building. I'll consider doing that next time. *UPDATE* Another colleague read my review, and told me she experienced the same problem last week. She waited an additional 15 minutes from the time they said the order would be ready.

The food was great but the service was horrible. Only one server for the whole place. Poor guy. Wasn't his fault. Dirty tables everywhere. No help from ANYONE else.

Came here to buy something to go to validate parking. :) Walked in and was able to order right away. I ordered Panang with three stars and it was only 7.95 or something. The guy at the front said 15-20 minutes, but it was at 1pm so I didn't mind. The place had a very enticing atmosphere despite being in the lobby of a business complex. Not even 10 minutes later, my order was ready, and it was some of the best Panang I've had. The spiciness was a little low for my taste (their scale was 1-4 stars) but I attribute that to people who think they love spicy food, order lots of stars and then complain when it's too spicy for them. Great atmosphere, great food/price and great service. I will be back!

I hope dinner is better here. Just a block away from work and I wanted to try a different Thai place. This is perfect for a quick easy lunch, seated right away, soup in my face and taking my order quickly and minuets later the food was there. Food was not very good...wasn't spicy, noodles were like top ramen. Positives are; awesome speed, clean restaurant and no mess-up on my order of no onions and bean sprouts in my 4 star chicken phad thai. I give the Service a 4 there was nothing special other then speed and I give the food a 3. I would give this place 4 stars but there is much better Thai food in Bellevue so its a 3...I'll be back and try something different, maybe even for dinner...

I usually come to Tangerine during lunch-time. Since I work in downtown Bellevue this restaurant is easy to get to. However, since Tangerine is located on the basement floor of the Expedia building, not many people know about this gem of a restaurant. If one is driving to this location I have no idea where one would park since it's on a main street and there is no parking lot. Tangerine's decoration is very classy. I really enjoy how the restaurant is arranged. If you are coming during lunchtime, I would opt to go after 12:45-1 to avoid the mad rush and congestion of people eating here. I really like the lunch specials. They come with soup or salad (monday, wednesday and fridays they serve soup. Tuesdays and thursdays they serve salad), entree, and a choice of white or brown rice. They also do combos where you can have 2 different entrees. A few of my favorites are the Chicken Pad Thai, coconut chicken, and the ginger chicken. I would say the lunch specials range from 7-10 dollars. Not bad! All in all this is a great area to get away from the office and to have a splendid meal. I definitely recommend if you are in the area!

When you walk into this restaurant the first thing you'll notice is the authenticity, from the decors right down to the food. The main cook and manager Preedaporn AKA "A", is really passionate about using original home made ingredients in her dishes unlike many other Thai restaurants in the area. With the nice peaceful environment, awesome cooking, and wonderful staff and service, why shouldn't i give them a five? This is definitely as good as it gets!!! GO SEE FOR URSELF.

Yummy dishes and no giant portions, which is nice. Ordered the sizzling seafood and green curry with salmon all was really flavorful with just the right spice.

I'm a big fan of Thai Cuisine and by far I think Tangerine wins best Thai restaurant in Bellevue. My friend took me here because he worked at this place, to my surprise they had a pretty good assort and pricing. The entrees usually revolve around $10.00, surprising huh? The interior had a nice feel to it, very traditional mixed with a modern look. The lighting is somewhat dim but it's fine. I usually try the Chicken Basil Fried Rice at every Thai restaurant to see how hot they could make it. I usually get the hottest level they got and sure as hell they didn't disappoint me. I'm use to spicy food so it wasn't that bad for me but I gave a sample to a friend and his eyes started to water! lol It's located in the lobby of the Expedia in Bellevue Downtown. You'd think it'd be pricey as hell to dine here but it really isn't. This place validates parking so you might want to keep in mind to ask the cashier after your done, so they can give you the parking stub to get out of the parking lot. In all, I usually go here for a quick lunch or dinner with a friend. Try it out

Epic. Dinner. The Tasty Beef dish? Kinda like bulgogi. IT. IS. AWESOME! The food is pretty authentic. The phad thai is more on the traditional side with a light, dry citrusy taste. The oily type or western type phad thai is NOTHING compared to it. Fried rice is what you expect, but I really like that their are tomatoes in it! I love tomatoes. I've sampled a ton of things from the menu and the best things areeeee Phad Thai Tasty beef Chicken Satay Gyoza Its tucked under the Expedia tower, hopefully not too hidden cause it is legit :)

Great Thai Food! So far the best Thai Restaurant in Bellevue and their are plenty to choose from. Went here one night after work with my wife and a friend. Staff is friendly, food it authentic and tasty. What more can you ask for..We'll be back again!

I love thai and this was really good. I like the menu they have a lot of choices and the brown rice was so good. Not just brown rice it had a different texture and color. It was more like long grain brown rice. I had the panang curry. Like the spice it was 3.5 star ahhh, just what I ordered. I can't remember what my husband had, but he enjoyed it. We'll be back. Oh, I just remembered he had the Pad Thai.

I have been to Tangerine once and I am going again tomorrow. I am very excited. It's great for lunch and not to expensive. The food is GREAT. The brown rice is amazing. I loved it! It's not your typical brown rice. It's the real thing whole grain brown rice and its not mooshy. I was impressed by just the rice. Also, another bonus is that the food wasn't greasy and had good flavor. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere and the service was good.

  • Jarrod L.

The curries and other dishes served with rice are the best anywhere Ive been in the region. I've never been even slightly disappointed with any of them. The noodle dishes are only ok, but they're not really what I go to eat anyway, so it's no problem. The heat scale actually is reasonably spicy, unlike most of the Thai places I've found. A dish at a 5 should be a little difficult to eat and make me sweat. Dishes at a 5 here usually do that and still taste delicious, i.e. they're not just hot at the expense of flavor.

  • David N.

Completely empty at dinner, so was reluctant to go in (empty restaurants are a bad sign), but I was hungry, so I did. Waiter explained they were mainly a lunch place, but I sat down and ordered a red curry anyway. Spicy! Watch out, don't order one star up as you have to elsewhere in Bellevue. Great curry, good rice, and waiter was friendly, I will be back.

  • Wendy M.

Great location! I had the chicken pad thai and it was pretty good. The food was not greasy at all. Call me crazy, but although the pad thai had good flavor, it could use a little more fat which would make it taste soooo much better. It was a bit dry. It was presented beautifully with the crushed nuts on top and a very long curty strand of carrot. (very pretty!) I also had the special coconut chicken curry with housemade rice vermicelli noodles. I ordered this as 2 stars and it was a bit spicy! Be careful with the stars bec I feel that a 2 star here is probably equivalent to 3 stars elsewhere. the house made noodles were so good and perfectly steamed. I can't wait to try other dishes at this place. I'm guessing that in my dishes, they did not use MSG bec the food didn't taste all freaky good and didn't makie me super thirsty.

Randomly yelped this restaurant because my mom wanted Thai food for Mother's Day and since I have to work Sunday, we went there a day early. I guess it's because of the location and it being a weekend, there was only one other group there. I don't know why more people weren't there because the food was quite good. Prices are similar to other Thai restaurants. I heard that Chantanee hasn't been that good since they remodeled which is why I chose to come to Tangerine Thai. The ambiance is nice-I liked the simple decor of the restaurant. The food was good-after a bad experience with phad see yew at a different restaurant, I was worried that the curse would carry over here but thankfully it didn't. My family and I ordered chicken phad thai, beef phad see yew, chicken red curry and beef green beans. I reallllly liked the red curry and green beans! We got everything 3 stars-the phad see yew was a tad spicer than the other dishes but it was still good. We finished almost everything-we had some leftover red curry wrapped up to go. We all left stuffed! I never had to ask for more water and the server brought us our validation tickets with the check. Definitely worth coming back for!

This is no fake review!!!! The food here is good, very good, and authentic. We have had early dinner here several times, they are not so busy in the eve, apparently lunchtime gets crazy. The staff has always been very nice, courteous and fast. I have even been able to order dishes off the menu, very accommodating. And they love kids. The big plus for a dinner out with kids here, is the area outside of the restaurant, which is the lobby of the building, where there are tables and seating. My kids went out there to draw, while my husband and I finished our meal and wine, while watching them through the window. Very handy. We are now considering ourselves regulars here :-)

We've been here twice on weekends, once for dinner, once for lunch. Both times, the restaurant was less than half full, so there was no wait and good service. I think most business is during the work week, in accord with the previous two reviews. Very nice interior, lots of wood and art, aside from the brightly-lit kitchen in plain view. Less distracting during daytime than at night. But the point is the food, which is excellent. Phad Thai, Pad See Eu, Tom Ka Gai, Panang Curry, all were mouth watering. My wife wants to see five stars, but parking underneath is somewhat inconvenient. I used to like the nearby Chantanee a bit more, but no more. Now this is tied with the nearby "The King and I" for my fave.

Meh. The thing I love about Thai food is the amazing flavors. I have let everyone know that on my death bed I should be brought Thai food and chocolate chip cookies. On the double. Unfortunately for Tangerine Thai, I can't say that I'd want that last meal cooked here. My friend and I ordered the swimming rama with chicken and the phad thai with tofu. The swimming rama was okay, but it didn't have that *POP* that great Thai food has. There was something missing in the flavor that I'm not sure I can put my finger on. The phad thai was good, but again not great. The tofu was actually a bit crunchy and overcooked. The server/greeter was odd, I must say. He appeared to have little interest in being there and didn't engage with us on any level. Maybe just a bad day for him. The best part of our experience was (wait for it) the bathrooms. Very impressive! Put some of that attention to detail in your food, and I'll give you another star or two! By the way, if you've never been to this restaurant before, good luck finding it. From the free in-building parking, take the elevator up to the lobby and then take the stairs down to the restaurant. It's mostly hidden unless you know where to look. Parking is free for three hours after 5 PM on weekdays and (I believe) all day on weekends.

Well I must say that the food isnt bad. Dinner is definitely better then Lunch. Lunch hour I understand the place gets really busy, but most of the times I have had success in getting a table in ~5mins or so. My favourite dishes is the spicy chicken noodle and panag curry. What I dont like is the service... they take order and the forget you. Today it took 30 mins for my food and I ended up getting it for TakeOut. The other time I placed the order on phone and forgot to pick it up (I was told 10 mins). Went there after 30 mins and it was still not ready... I hope the service was better...!!! Tip never ever order Thai iced coffee... it tastes like equal portions of coffee n sugar/sweetner/condensed milk.

Pad Kee Mao is good; I like shrimp best, and this is the only Thai place I've been to in the Seattle area where the shrimp aren't overcooked. Spicy Noodle at Tangerine is more the traditional pad kee mao dish, but I recommend ordering their Pad Kee Mao because of the addition of their green beans (doesn't sound like an important ingredient, I know, but you have to try the green beans in this dish!) -- the only thing I miss is the tomatoes, and the green beans make the trade-off worthwhile.

Ordered take out for the fam and got the pad thai, chicken stay, sizzling beef, panang curry and the pineapple fried rice. Everything was good, I wish the beef dish had more volume to it. I would say the 3.5 average rating is accurate. The total came to $53 with tax. They have a curbside to go service too, take the parking entrance from the north side of the Expedia building and wait at the handicap spot. It was confusing to me at first because there's a few other entrances.

Was not at all impressed with this place. I went in to have lunch and ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken with 3 stars spiciness. The chicken tasted microwaved, like they had grilled it up in the morning and nuked it just before serving. The chicken was also not well seasoned. It came with a small plate of pepper paste and chili oil, which I would assume was intended to supply the flavoring. It was garnished with some iceberg lettuce and julienned carrot. The lettuce tasted like it had not been well washed. The brown rice was just ok. While the quality was not low enough to justify a rating of 1 star, I will not be eating at Tangerine again anytime soon.

My husband and I go to this restaurant frequently and the service is always great!! They are as nice as can be. The phad thai is EXCELLENT!!! We've also tried every single curry on the menu - all of them are spectacular (esp the panang and masuman)! They can even make something as mundane as fried rice taste amazing - my husband always insists on getting it! This is the only thai restaurant that we will eat at - we've tried almost all the thai restaurants in the greater seattle area and this is the only one that we love enough to keep going back. In fact, we only exclusively go to Tangerine now. Yup, the food is just THAT good. If you love thai food, you owe it to yourself to try this place out!

Mmm, tasty Thai food can be had here. A little hard to find and a little challenging to park in downtown Bellevue, but the efforts are worth it. One side note is that they tend to be on the spicy side, so maybe order one star less than you normally might.

I'd wrote the review for this restaurant on Jan12 and I suggested my friend to check it out because we went their together.....but what they found out is that my review disappear!! surprising but I just want to retry review this again coz' I'm sure I didn't use any words that violate the website! and I really wanna share my great experience with this restaurant :) First of all, my friends and I went to Seattle over new year and some of our friend in Seattle suggested us that we should try out this restaurant, it taste really good and the price also reasonable....so we went to checked it out! When we arrived, it was around 7 pm and there were 4 of us...the decoration is really nice and it not so crowd during that time. The service also great and all the dishes that we order were awesome!! I recommend to start with summer rolls (the dipping sauce is the best!) follow by Tom yum soup and entree were palace chicken (which was in chef recommended menus), sizzling seafood, kee mao noodle and garlic trout. Everything tasted so good!! It is one of the best Thai food I had in US (since I'm from Thailand) and it really taste like authentic Thai food not like many Thai restaurant that adjust a lot and loose the identity of Thai food. I really recommend everyone to check out this restaurant!! U will never disappoint, trust me!! :D

Convenient location from where I work so I eat here occasionally. Don't go if you're in a rush as service can be quite slow and I've had occasions where I've had to go to the front desk to ask for my check. Good food and nice decor/atmosphere, but I wish they had a vegetarian option for their generic starter (soup with chicken I believe). I've been to other Thai restaurants in the area that offer a simple, small green salad instead of the soup. I like the lunch combination options: $9.50 for two items plus white rice.

Of the many times I've been here their noodle dishes are consistently tasty with the one rice entree pretty good itself, particularly the brown rice. In conjunction with the affordable prices especially here in Bellevue this place is definitely recommended.

Good for lunch but it gets crowded with high-rise workers and service can be slow and inattentive. Pretty basic Thai but they have plenty of choices on the menu. Good for dinner take-out but not the cheapest menu and it's pretty hidden in the basement so very hard to find.

The food is very good. Had the Pineapple Fried Rice and Phad Thai and both were pretty solid. The service though was horrible. Took 15 minutes to get someone to take my order, then they brought the dishes with no serviing spoons. Then had to flag the server down to get the check. Probably some of the worst service I have ever had in Bellevue.

I asked what was best and so I ended up with the combo of chicken curry and chicken basil. The curry was good but I was hoping for a bit more flavor. The basil was better but reminded me of the 'where's the beef' commercials. Not good enough of the chicken to vegetable ratio. The quality of the ingredients are very good, but given that I have been to over a hundred Thai restaurants they don't come close to a 5th star. In addition, I paid $7 to park in the structure and they wouldn't validate for lunch (they do for dinner). No way I'm coming back for lunch.

I love this place..for its good food and decent price. Their service is good and the place though not full most of the time....serves good food....probably people do not notice its existence in the evening. I like it ..

Hmmmm so I just came back from here a couple of hours ago and I gotta say this place is pretty upscale of t most thai restaurants. It isn't difficult to find but it certainly isn't one of those restaurants that stands out and draws in passing pedestrians or drivers...I have driven by this place a dozen million times and didn't even realize it was there....anyways a group of friends and I were greeted and seated right away by a very welcoming waitress. They don't have booths, just tables...but there is a good amount of space in the restaurant and it is relatively exceptionally clean and neat. I ordered the chicken pad thai three stars....the dish came out a little bit late but I didn't mind at all....however it wasn't exactly three stars like I had asked for....it tasted like five to me but oh well I was able to down it all and it was still quite tasty. The waitress was attentive and got us extra lime wedges and kept our glasss filled....even though she was the only person working up front. The portion was quite reasonable...chicken was good..I loved the fact that they didn't skimp on the chicken like so many other Thai places I've been to get chicken pad thai...prices were very reasonable especially for location and the overall experience was pretty satisfying although not entirely super exceptional. Only thing making it stand out from other thai restaurants is it's convenient location for those who work downtown and of course the cleanliness...will probably be back if I'm feeling thai food and in the area again!

A decent thai place with a modern decor. Food was good. I tried the yellow curry fried rice and it was tasty and what i expected. Service was timely.

I just went to Tangerine with a group of coworkers for lunch. I liked the ambiance and decor and the hostess was pleasant. It was right at the lunch hour, so the place was moderately busy but it took about 20 minutes for a waiter to even acknowledge us sitting at the table. The first thing the waiter did was put salads on the table in front of us and he started to walk away. We asked if we could just order since we had had plenty of time to peruse the menu. The waiter didn't ask how many stars we wanted. It was odd. The food took forever to come. The waiter arrived with everyone's food but mine with no explanation. My coworker had to go ask if my food was on the way. We had to ask for chopsticks, we had to ask for drink refills. The food tasted average, but could have used some spice. We waited and waited for the waiter to come back and in the end had to ask for containers for our leftovers. When the waiter came with the check, he had added the 18% gratuity on because there were six of us. With service like that, there is no way that 18% was appropriate. All in all, we were there for about one hour and forty minutes--way too long. I will not go back.

Horrible service! the soup at the beginning was good, but then they never came back. We had to retrieve a server to come take our order after 20 minutes of waiting. When we finally ordered, we waited 40 more minutes for our food, which is pretty unreasonable for a place in an office building where people need to get in and out relatively quickly. We had to grab the server and tell her to put all of our food in a to go box and paid the check before we recieved anything just because the kitchen was so slow. The food ended up not being very good either, a bit cold and not that great in flavor. Disappointed.

I just finished my 4th meal experience at Tangerine and I love it more each time. The yellow curry served on authentic brown Thai rice is exceptional. I whole heartedly can recommend this restarant to anyone. I used to hold high regards for Wild Ginger until I ate at Tangerine. Their heat scale index was perfect and the quality of the presentation is top notch. The owner is a nuturing person who you will adore. I look forward to bringing more and more people to feed their souls.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Bellevue! They have a nice fun environment; for the amount of food you receive I find the price to be fair as well. My favorite is the Chicken! Not at all like other Thai places, the meat is never has fat or anything. Beware though - 3 stars depending on the cook that day could be spicy.

I just love Tangerine! Their food is always tasty and delicious - whatever I choose. I've been there many times, with my friends or my husband. The service is ok and the food is fabulous. The portions are decent and prices really good - $11 for quite fancy meal in downtown Bellevue is really fine! I'll be surely coming back there for more :) My favorite Thai restaurant.

NOTE: There are two Tangerine Thai locations. One is in Seattle and one is in Bellevue. We accidentally called and ordered from the Seattle one then showed up to the Bellevue location. --- We ordered takeout and the service was great. I had the chicken pad thai, which was average - had all of the right ingredients but lacked much flavor. The serving size was huge, and I ended up having it over 3 days! Hubby got chicken basil rice which was yummy. Couldn't keep my fork out of his plate! This one didn't climb to the top of my list, but willing to give it another chance soon.

Tangerine Thai is a pretty okay Thai place. There are a handful of other Thai places in the Bellevue area and having tried a few of the others, the ambiance at Tangering Thai is on the better side. The food is good. The service was pretty slow and the waiters did not check-in often to refill water, see how things were going, etc. My dish was not as spicy as I would have liked and it would have been great if a waiter took a second to check-in or make eye contact so I could ask for some chilli sauce. But...regardless, it's an ok place and worth trying out.

Just a little update since I come here for takeout so often. My faves are their basil chicken fried rice, yellow curry, palace chicken, and beef noodle soup. I sometimes get their noodles like pad see ew but it's not my favorite here. They sometimes have specials that are really good. One time they had a pork belly stew and it was sooo good. They should have specials more often!

Tangerine Thai Cuisine is the second stop on my mission to review all six Thai restaurants that are within walking distance of my Bellevue office. Unfortunately Tangerine doesn't come anywhere close to meeting the experience of my first stop Nibbana (read my review here: yelp.com/user_details_re… ). Let's start from the beginning. Tangerine fills a space in the lower level of the same Bellevue skyscraper in which Expedia is headquartered. It's pretty clear that the space was built out for a restaurant, although not specifically Tangerine. The space is plain with a modest attempt, at best, to create a Thai ambiance by simply placing some generic decorations on the walls. While the restaurant doesn't appear to be overly crowded, the area that I was sitting in definitely was. I continuously felt the chair of the person immediately behind me, bumping into my chair. Additionally, the table we were sitting at was not level. Is there anything more annoying than having a table rock from one leg to another every time you pick up your water? Upon being seated, we were brought a complimentary cup of soup which was fine, chicken and tofu, but not particularly memorable. The menu has all the usual suspects -- I had Cashew Chicken and my fiend Phad Thai with chicken. I was underwhelmed by my lunch. The vegetables -- particularly the broccoli -- were overcooked and even tasted a bit grainy. The sauce was too sweet. Even as I was eating my lunch, I was thinking to myself, "This is not very good." Days later, my memory isn't any kinder. I was surprised to be handed disposable chopsticks when I asked for chopsticks. If I'm ordering take out, then fine. But otherwise, it would be nice to have a pair of chopsticks that I don't have to worry about getting splinters from. (And yes, I know that Thais do not really use chopsticks except on special occasions with noodles or rice.) On the plus side, my water glass was filled up regularly without having to ask and the company at my table was great. Total for lunch including two entrees, two rices (yes, they charge for rice) a soda and tip was $24.00. I thought long and hard whether this should be a two or three star review and the answer came when I asked myself if I had any reason to ever return to Tangerine, and that's an easy answer - no. So, rounding down, two stars it is. Health Department Report I've decided to add records from the King County Department of Public Health to my restaurant reviews because most people don't even know these records are available. The past three food safety inspections at Tangerine Thai Cuisine, reaching back to Oct. 2011, have been very good, with only one review out of three with any points at all -- and that was only five points for improper storage display. Like other reviewers, I was torn between 2 and 3 star, but ultimately went with 2 stars as I am far more 'meh' about this place than 'a-ok'. I would probably never eat here if it weren't in the bottom of my building. It saves me time and dampness to just run downstairs, but I wouldn't do so if it was completely awful. I've eaten here quite a bit, so it *is* edible, and I feel my experiences are indicative of what to expect. Some items are better than most, some are verging on terrible, with the majority being average. I feel consistently there is not a lot of meat to many dishes. Stick to white meat chicken and more standard stir-fries. I quite like the vermicelli noodles, but again, seems very lacking in meat. The Tom Yum soup is very flavorful. Avoid beef items. The "Chef's Special Noodle Dish" was one of the worst things I've ever had in a Thai place .

Unfortunately I will not be returning to Tangerine.... It was my first time eating there yesterday and I ordered Thai fried rice and green curry. The fried rice was greasy, bland and stale. The curry was OKAY.

First time I ordered here. There are at least 4 other Thai places within a mile radius around but this happened to be closest to my place. I came in to order to-go. I ordered 2 red curry entrees with chicken, which are $10.95 each ($2 more than the other Thai places in the area for the same dish). I also asked for eggplant in one and broccoli in the other, for which I was charged $3 extra. I'm fine with paying more, it's understandable to pay extra for extras. The food came out pretty quickly- 10 minutes as promised. There were maybe 2 guests inside the restaurant when I placed my to go order. I got home and got an unpleasant surprise when I took the food out - the containers were slightly more than half full!! That is the amount you usually get with no extras ordered - I paid $3 more for the same amount of food. How disappointing. I will be visiting one of the many other options for Thai food in the area for future meals. (see posted pictures)

Came here for lunch one day. It was good and they got me in and out within an hour -- which is always good in this busy-ish area during lunch. I had some 4-star chicken Phad Thai, which was really good compared to similar restaurants. I am starting to feel like it must be pretty hard to screw up, but whatever... I love it.

My friend and I came here by random. I didn't know what I felt like eating. I ordered the Chef's special noodles? I think it was kind of salty and a bit on the oily side but it was okay. I don't remember what my friend ordered but her's was a little better than mine. Yup, this is just a random review for a random go to eat Thai food.

I'll start off by saying that I have been dining at Tangerine Thai numerous times due to the convenient location right in downtown and the semi quiet atmosphere. However, due to my last visit, I will not be returning. I always left a tip with my bill in the past, but I have not this time around since the service wasn't up to my expectations. I paid for my meal and as I already left the restaurant, one of their employees chased after me and started telling me that I need to tip him. First off, he was not my waiter, and second of all he has no right telling me what to do with my funds. Here's how I see it; if the service WASN'T up to my standard, why on earth would I tip? It's appalling that he chased after me and embarrassed me in public. It honestly came across as though I have not paid my bill. They are acting like this is a high end restaurant, umm no sorry.. I have dined at other restaurants where they specify in their menu that gratuity is recommended. No where does it specify this in Tangerine Thai's menu. I addressed this with the woman at the register and she was very rude, she accused me of never tipping them. I was beyond baffled at this point. I have receipts that can prove that I always tipped them in my prior visits. She also stated that that man doesn't get paid enough and it's a necessity to tip him. Wow... That's my problem how?.. Still trying to process that one. She told me I can go dine elsewhere If I refuse to tip. Ha, and to think that I referred so many individuals to dine at this establishment. Ungrateful, rude, and ignorant is what these employees are. Don't dine here if you'd rather shy away from a beggar coming after you. How ratchet. They have officially lost me as a customer.

Waited 45 minutes for my lunch. There were maybe ten people in the restaurant total. Food tasted fine, but the wait was ridiculous. Chantanee has panang curry out in under ten. It's not that hard, really.

I passed this place a few times and decide to give it a try today. For some reason they have a small table right in the middle of the entrance, and the lady tried to give it to me. I declined and she wasn't too happy. Finally got a table and found there was something sticky on the surface and it got on my shirt, Yikes! The food was mediocre and the waitress never stopped by to check or refill water. Won't go there again for sure.

ordered chicken pad thai to go, when i got home it had ONLY 5 pieces of chicken. Total Rip Off! most thai restaurants give you 2-3 times that much. i will never go there again.

Good food, fast place for lunch. I had the Thai BBQ chicken and chicken fried rice combo. It was yummy!

I love their Palace Chicken and Tom Kha (I always add rice to mine, it's only $1 for a small white rice). The staff is super nice and if you're ordering takeout, call ahead of time because their lunch rush is crazy. The few times I've gone after work (once around 5:30 and once around 8pm) it was completely empty.

  • Mark Y.

Chantanee- over priced Nibanna - not really good tasting This place is the best of both.. cheap lunch combos that taste awesome.. plus one of the few that allows you to totally customize... meat with starch. most places only give you pad thai with a choice of meat/rice.. but here u can get padsew.. which is a fav of mine. Too bad i've moved work locations.. really miss the thai lunches here!!

We had a group of 7 come for lunch today and the restaurant refused to take more than 1 credit card for payment. The restaurant was empty by the time we left and in the past, they have taken 5 cards as payment. If they want to serve the office lunch crowd, they need to be willing to run cards for each guest. We will be taking our business to the multitude of other restaurants (including Thai restaurants happy to oblige with splitting payments: Nibbana and Chantanee) in the area.

I'm shocked at the good reviews. To be clear, my abysmal experience with Tangerine Thai is solely with their dinner delivery / takeout. For all I know, the sit-down version is actually edible. Tangerine Thai needs to step up its delivery or get out of the game. Dinner Delivery customers are not dogs to serve your kitchen scraps to. "Delight" is a disaster of chicken and vegetables. Go chew on the next patch of lawn you see, it's the same experience for free. "Ginger Chicken Green Beans" is essentially what you would expect to be served in a prison. Low-grade chicken, probably cat food, dumped together in a tinfoil pan with brown tinted green beans, probably WWII rations. If your choice is between Tangerine Thai takeout and eating out of the garbage, choose the garbage can.

This place is very good. Good Food and very good value. For 10 bucks got a lot of food for lunch. Good selection and very fresh. They dont make a bulk of anything. Its all cooked to order. Came here for a business lunch. Awesome is what I would say. Gave it 4 Starts, because, I was told that it was an Authentic Thai restaurant. But, not really.

  • Amos Y.

Went there for dinner. The atmosphere is more of an upscale classy place. Has a nice dark decor. Dishes are decently priced with most of them slightly above $10, but portions are smaller. I got some of the Phad Kee Mao, which tasted great, but was really oily. There was only one other group there when we went, and the service was pretty good. Overall was a good experience, but would probably go to Chantanee instead.

I've eaten at neighboring Chantanee Thai restaurant many times over the years, starting when they were still in their old hidden location. I'd seen the signage for Tangerine Thai countless times over the years when driving by, but never really had a chance to try it until I stopped in for dinner recently. I'm happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised! I've been eating Thai food forever, and haev noticed that as the number of restaurants has grown exponentially throughout the years, the prices have also incrementally increased. The prices at Tangerine are actually very reasonable, especially considering the reasonable portion sizes and dtown Bvue location. The brown rice served here is different than most places, hard to explain, but it was pretty good! The dishes we had were also great. Tofu Pad Thai, Chicken Garlic Delight, and Beef Pad Ka Nha. All were great! This restaurant actually makes things spicy, as I was with someone that can't handle spice, but the 2 star was still flavorful with a hint of spice. Probably equivalent to a 3 other most places. Great service too. Oh, and they offer free parking, just make sure to get it validated.

Tangerine gets my vote for the best Thai food in the Seattle area. The quality of the food is quite high and they are extremely consistent. My daughter and I are both vegan (with dairy allergies) and we never worry about cross-contamination or hidden ingredients here. They will happily modify any recipe to account for allergies, preferences or taste. I love the panang and yellow curries. My daughter raves about the Pad See Ew.

I like the Panang Curry and Yellow curry fried rice here.. The service is really good.. Sometimes, the dishes taste a little different and not consistent. I would definitely keep visiting this place.

Interior looks nice. Food is mediocre... I came in with a large group of 6-7 for lunch and waited for the longest time for our food. Yes, granted since our group was large and it was lunch, I could understand our food to take longer than expected to arrive at our table. Anyway, our food came out... my dish had a heavy burnt/scorched stench. And it was noticeably burnt looking. I returned the food because my first bite was not tasty at all. Our waitress was awesome though. She returned my dish back to the kitchen and brought out an unburnt dish for me. It tasted okay. I've had better. Overall: food is mediocre, but great service.

Zach, do you remember our trips to Tangerine? A fine and decent competitor to its near-neighbor Chantanee, and for the longest time we had given it no glances. It wasn't until King George mentioned the spice being appropriate that we ventured a block away from Chantanee to give this place some due diligence. It is safe to say that Tangerine shouldn't be eclipsed or doubted, for it is great Thai food, right Zach? This place can be fairly crowded during normal lunch hours, but don't let that deter you if you have the time for it. And lunch truly is the right time to go. Their combo options are a fantastic way to sample multiple dishes at around $9-$10. The Garlic Lover's Beef with Phad See Ewe Chicken worked out wonderfully for us, right Zach? Very flavorful and decently portioned. With what we have tasted, it would be no surprise to find other dishes to be a delight. As some other places do not perfect their spice/star ratings, it should be noted that Tangerine does a good job of it. The difference between each star is noticeable, which is the way it should be Zach. You can expect to taste something hot when you order it. Relative to location and competition, Tangerine delivers in taste and price. The bar is set now, isn't it Zach?

Decent Thai food, decent service, food can take a bit to come if they are busy at peak lunch times. Primarily a lunch spot given their location in an office building. 3.5 stars review, cannot round up to a 4 though. There are better thai spots in the vicinity.

Delicious food, and impressive service! While I was commuting home on the bus I arranged to meet my husband at Tangerine for dinner. En route my phone battery died. When I got to Tangerine my husband wasn't there as I expected and I didn't have a charger with me. Instead of walking home I asked the hostess/server if she had an iPhone charger, and to my total surprise she was happy to loan me hers so I could coordinate with my husband. After that melodrama we ate dinner while my dumb phone charged nearby, and I must say the Red Curry was perfect. I got a 3 and it wasn't too spicy and not too tame either. Wonderful experience and I definitely recommend this place for dinner.

This is by far the best Thai food I have had. I have been to many other Thai restaurants and they have the freshest flavors and best ingredients. They never use pre- made sauces, and they are very authentic and a true treasure. Plus service is top notch! Love them!

Tangerine is located at the base of the Expedia building in downtown Bellevue. I come here for lunch every so often with co-workers. I really enjoy their lunch combo which allows you to pick two entrees for $10. Not a bad deal at all especially considering the price of food in Bellevue. Out of all the thai restaurants in the area (which there are many), I like their Panang curry the best. Super flavorful and has the right amount of kick. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Their cashew nut chicken is also delicious. I've had their fried rice and it's above average. I enjoy the ice tea here as well. Get it. I'd pick this place over most of the other thai restaurants in the area.

Palace Chicken, 4 Star, the only way to go. A bit pricey for "takeout Thai" at $14, but well worth it. Serving size is decent for the price.

There are a handful of Thai places in a one-block radius but Tangerine has the best noodles out of them all, IMHO.

  • Arry Y.

Points for being super convenient for me and my client in terms of proximity - in the same building with a mere elevator ride down to the restaurant. Hee haw~ Of course, lunch hour is busy - so go early or later to beat the rush. Food is decent. Decent menu - and prices are about $7.95/entree. You can get brown rice in lieu of white jasmine rice (+points) I ordered the Pad See Ew with beef. Came out with no surprises, a good thing.

  • Linda H.

Working in Bellevue, this place is slow and the service is not that upscale. Not attentive and sometimes rude... The food is decent, if you do go there. I recommend trying the Phad Woon Sen with Tofu. Not much to say here sadly...
