Great place! Beers and food by the fire, not packed on Saturday afternoon. Good service, amazing food, Stella on tap :)

Don't get me wrong, the food was... okay. Service left a bit to be desired. Ordered my burger well, it was pink inside. Ordered it with fries and a side salad. Came with the salad, had to reorder fries. Now I'm writing this while I'm staring at the check, waiting for my card to be picked up. (And I don't type well on my phone...) At least I can say I've been here... once.

Food is average but this is for service. Been here twice and both times less than stellar service. Came here for a late night dinner around 10pm and the restaurant is dead. They seat us in the bar and the bartender comes to greet us and bring us water. Return 10 min later to take our order. Bf orders chipotle chicken tacos with rice and beans. I order the Hickory Burger. 20 mins later food came out. Another waitress brought the food and the bartender destiny who was also our waitress never once checked on us. The bf received shrimp tacos and not the chicken ones he asked for. No water refill not one check in to see how we were doing. When we were done eating she dropped off the bill and then asked if we wanted desserts... Too late now. I'm still thirsty, today was a hot day. Can I get some more water please and what I ordered? Not interested in this place. If it was busy I would be more understanding but it was dead dead dead!

This is a review for the service only Once completely ignored although it was not busy at 2:00-ish The second time my husband waited at the bar while I had a mani at Sola Salon and when I arrived the bartender (male) look at me from a distance of 3 feet and decided I should not be asked if I would like a drink...again no one in the place. So Hubby paid and we left Third time we walked in and passed many wait staff and it was only after we sat down at bar for a minute or two they asked us to leave because they were getting ready for a private party So, have been there 3 times and found the service or lack thereof so bad as to never come back Maybe this is not something that would bother you, in which case go on in

3.5 stars. Surprisingly better than what I thought. We just ordered simple dishes. My girlfriend had the pub burger. The patty size was generous, but when I tried it, I found it a little tough. However I still enjoyed the flavor of the beef itself. We would have preferred the cheese to be more on the gooey side, but this is just personal preference. The bread would have been better if it was grilled for a short time, but I guess this would be asking too much. The fries were good - at least those at the top of the container. Those at the bottom were a little soggy already. I had the kale and quinoa salad. I personally did not like the presentation. The salad and chicken were placed on one end of an oval plate, which made the serving size appear small. This is on top of my personal opinion that it was not a generous portion of salad for the price. On the other hand, the salad was wonderful. I liked combination of slaw, kale and quinoa. I wish there was more quinoa though. There were only three tiny strips of chicken as well. Good thing they were not dry. Not bad, but I think kinda pricey for what you get. Good thing is customers can park at basement of the building. That makes it convenient.

It's a pretty cool inside, but the food isn't so special. I had an Almost Famous Blackened Fish Burger with Fries. I felt like the Halibut wasn't seasoned so well, so the burger ended up being bland. The fries aren't that special either... I'm pretty sure anyone could make the hand cut fries they make here, it was just ok. Instead of ordering their hand cut fries, try the Yam Fries because it taste like sweet potato fries. The blacken chicken here is good. It was pan fried very well and the seasoning was good. Would I come here next time? Eh. Probably not. But it's a good place for snacks. It's a good place for the summer time because of the fire pit they have outside. Dinner is pricey (Bellevue Duh) but look for the groupons. Food was ok, nothing special, but at least try the blackened chicken.

First impression was the decor and layout of the restaurant - neat decorations and an outdoor patio that would be perfect come summertime. While the brunch menu is rather limited, there's enough offerings for various tastebuds. Mimosas are $5 which is a good deal. I ended up ordering the Breakfast Burrito. The burrito is a big serving and you get a ton of eggs inside, which I was pleased to find. I was a bit disappointed though, because the burrito was mostly bland, and I'm quite confident I could've made a better (albiet, smaller) burrito at home. The potatoes were also a bit hard, as if they could've used another few minutes being cooked. My friend, however, ordered the Prosciutto Eggs Benedict and thought it was pretty good.

It was not good at all at first, but now after 1.5 years, it is getting better and better. Now I like this restaurant.

The beer is good, but it maybe the only good items on the menu. I hate to give bad review to a restaurant but their food is bad. Dry ribs, for $6, it is a big portion. But if Althea food doesn't taste good, the size ain't matter. It is a fried ribs with salt and pepper, very plain. I don't even know what to say about it because it's bad because if they would have marinated it with simple soy sauce and sugar, it will taste better. Edamame, this doesn't require much cooking, but they serve it with hot sauce, spicy and a little bit sour, along with sprinkle salt and sesame on top of edamame. The chef really know how to mess up the dish. 2 stars is for the great service and nice environment. The food, is a -2 stars.

I went to Scotty Browns today with low expectations, but instead was very pleasantly surprised. The Dynamite Roll & yam fries were great! Our server, Destiny, was also great. I highly recommend this place!

FOOD: Average. Went to happy hour. My favorite was the calamari. It was very crispy, yet tender. I also got the chicken quesadilla and half nacho with chicken. Both were average, nothing spectacular. They could be more flavor and depth. Especially for the prices, I was expecting a bit more. Happy hour only does $3 off the happy hour items. It's not that much of a discount when the food is already pricy. SERVICE: Our server was friendly and helpful but did not seem like she knew much of the menu. She may have been new. PRESENTATION: Plating of the food was clean and presentable. The layout of the restaurant was nice. I love the outdoor patio and sitting area. Great for late night summer dining. LOCATION: Nice location. It is in downtown but away from the commotion of the city. It is across the Bravern. There is also a parking garage that is close and convenient. I believe it is the one connected to Lunchbox laboratory. WOULD I COME BACK: Possibly ADVICE: Calarmari with extra lemon. Haven't tried their other menu items to comment on.

Scotty Browns is an odd restaurant in an odd location. It feels like the 38 year old former jock that wears oversized dress shirts with ugly paisley cuffs and oversized Rock and Republic jeans.. in 2014. It's trying too hard to be cool. And this Scotty Browns location has non-existent street presence because it's hidden in a residential/retail complex away from the main streets (NE 8th, namely). I don't get the pricing. It's expensive for the very mediocre meal I got, which was one of their burgers in the $12-17 price range. Nothing special to see here. Most of their entrees are around $15-22, which makes no sense when it's fusion mix. Really reminiscent of the Joey menu here. Joey and Earl's sadly will always win in this battle. They compete on price, they compete on branding, and experience. Mostly, they win on curb appeal and location. Sure, Scotty Browns has an outdoor patio / seating area with a fireplace.. but that's not usable during the rainy months. Also, what's with the name? It doesn't resonate. Once again.. trying to hard. I don't think place will last til next summer.

So surprised by some of the bad reviews. Spur of the moment casual dinner early on a Sat night. Unusually warm day and sat outside on patio. Our group of 4 loved it! Food good Service was very good Ambiance very nice. A little pricy.....but not over the top. We will definitely go again.

So, I've been back a few more times and the burgers are great, and the fries are even better!! Thanks for the recommendation. I also went for breakfast and had the eggs Benedict. Awesome! Since I'm in town a lot for work I'll definitely eat here again.

As I sit here trying to put my thoughts about Scotty Browns into words, I'm not sure exactly what to write. Such a mixed bag of thoughts jumbling around in my head. I think the best way to put words onto the digital page would be a series of questions. Was the food tasty? Yes Were the drinks well made? Yes Was the server attentive? Yes Was the environment comfortable? Yes Was it overpriced? Yes Would I come back? I'm not sure

Great place to go on a sunny day. LARGE PATTIO setting area - which is a challenge to find in Seattle area. Great bar tenders and drink selection. Lots of food choices (don't go for the sushi). Tacos, jerk ribs, wings - all really solid and great tasting. Will be back for a sunny day on the pattio.

We just stopped in for a glass of wine and ended up meeting the owner Jason who was a very nice gentleman. Anyhow just had appetizers and they were very good so looking forward to trying dinner. The staff though was fantastic, I messed up my math and gave her 40 percent tip and she brought it to my attention. Now that doesn't happen all of the time. Definitely worth a try and walking distance to everything here. Give them a whirl!

I wasn't very happy with my experience, to say the least. This review will be short because there's not much to say. My food was lack luster. I had their fish tacos and was underwhelmed. The texture of the shell was nice, but the amount of fish was minuscule in comparison to the toppings. To make things worse, our service was horrid. My sister had ordered a drink, and ten minutes later, still didn't have it. She had to ask again. This wouldn't be too big of a deal, mistakes happen, but later on we asked for more napkins. We ended up asking for napkins a total of three times before we gave up and never received them. Overall, the experience was pretty disappointing, especially compared to its trendy appearance.

Atmosphere is awesome, food is tasty, service is courteous and accommodating. Drinks are delicious (orange cosmo is to die for). A bit pricey, but really what do you expect in downtown Bellevue. Burgers are like 15 bucks, but they're huge and come with a mountain of fries. Not not at all unreasonable. Been here three times, definitely going back. Excited for summertime and to sit outside in the GORGEOUS patio area. Another important point to make is that the Elements building (where SB is located) has FREE three hour parking in the garage. Beam me up, Scotty.

We arrived on a Sunday for a late lunch, and was pleasantly surprised by Scotty Browns. We were starving and had very little expectations, we just wanted a meal! Both of us got burgers, a Hollywood burger and the Spicy Chicken burger. Very pleased with both, the bun is a bit different and slightly sweet. Great fries also! If you show up between 3 - 6 any day, there's a social hour with discounted drinks. There's a $2 Vodka slush, great deal! Didn't drink any, but for $2, worth a try! I'll admit the other items on the menu were a bit pricier than expected, and the main reason I got the burgers was because the price was lower than the others. I'm not sure I would order anything else here other than the burgers due to price, but if I'm ever craving a burger, this would be the place for it!

    (4)
  • Carolyn C.

Really disappointing. We ordered two dishes with seared tuna. The fish was close to rotten. The service was overall terrible and they clearly do not care about the quality of what gets sent to customers.

Great location! my mom and I went in for lunch and had burgers, cooked to perfection. The table service was very friendly and paced just right. Would like to return for happy hour during the summer months and sit outside- a great place overall

  • Mitchell L.

It's really just ok. Nothing negative to say about it, but overall for the price I wasn't overly impressed. I got a burger that was a sold burger, but for $15 I could've gone to other places in the area and had a great burger. The atmosphere is pretty good, plenty of TVs around and up-scale casual feeling. Overall it was a slightly above average meal, but the price (especially for lunch) was a little too high. I wouldn't complain about going again, but I wouldn't choose it either.

    (3)
  • Kim D.

I go between 3 and 4 stars. The outside seating area is great and the food is really good good. Great menu with healthy options . The service was very slow and it wasn't even busy. Sometimes a smile goes a long way. I will be back

I organized a group of ten for Happy Hour on the first official day ** (trademarked) opened. The person heading up the social media and the staff may not be on the same page, I called to make a reservation as directed, and was unable to reserve a table for our group. It worked out, as the restaurant was relatively empty when I arrived, but for the large number of staff and a few patrons. The service felt a bit overzealous, likely because a trainer was critiquing servers on the floor, which there were too many crowding the small space. We thought ** must have a very strict corporate fresh ground pepper mandate. We were offered fresh ground pepper in all of our dishes; regardless of how wildly inappropriate. Would you like fresh ground pepper on your nachos? Sushi? ** (trademarked) tacos? Ginger beef? The servers even walked around with pepper mills under their arms, very odd, in my opinion, for pub style food. I felt the food itself was ok; I ordered a spicy chicken burger, the chicken tasted like a regular patty, the sauce and cheese were slightly spicy. The burgers do not live up to their trademarked name that implies they are so large, that one must use more than one appendage located at the end of their arm in order to eat one. The fries were fine, not particularly special. The ** tacos are not the type of ** tacos I am used to; they are just regular tacos with flour tortillas - not the type one may find at a taco truck, the type of truck which one may find on a road, or street. My friends all felt their food was okay, no one seemed to discover anything special on our visit. The number of trademarks, asterisks, disclaimers and exclusions on the menu are overwhelming; more than a minor distraction as well as confusing. I won't use their term for happy hour, as that is trademarked as well. I will say I was not that impressed. It is unlikely that I will return often for lunch, happy hour or dinner, as I feel Downtown Bellevue has much to offer at the price point at more convenient locations. I am intrigued by their brunch and outdoor patio and will return to enjoy those!

Service has come a long way. The food is still tasty and drinks delicious. Issues with open table were a bit frustrating and they may want ton consider updating or fixing their wifi black hole so people can more easily check in to the establishment.

I would have given this place a negative star or black star. It is definitely not a kid friendly place. Horrible horrible service... Kept waiting to get water, then to place our order for drinks and food. I would not recommend this place for families.

  • John T.

Stopped by for a quick snack and cocktail after work. It's a tucked away spot that is comfortably hidden from the hustle of the busier downtown Bellevue streets, but still has that nicer, swanky feel to it. The patio is great on a sunny day. I enjoyed the Social Soda, wife liked the skinny margarita, and we split the Dynamite Roll. Service was attentive and pleasant. Overall a good alternative to the busier, usual happy hour spots in Bellevue.

Food was amazing!!! I ate my entire meal Best mimosas I've had and honestly I'm not usually a fan. 4 star because the prices could be a little lower. Music was great. Love the outdoor fireplace. The staff was friendly and the place was clean

Went here for a birthday get together/prefunk on a Saturday. First off, the place was a little hard to find but when we eventually got there we realized it's actually a pretty cool place to catch a game. We were in a group of at least 10 so keep that in mind as I continue. The service was....slooooooooow. For a "sports bar" trying to be like Joey or Earl's (wannabe high end) it was terrible. And on top of it all they don't really take any note on who ordered what. Many times the waitress would just come over and shout who ordered what. She worked her tail off as I witnessed her serve multiple tables but this is just unprofessional especially with more established chains in the area who do it right. Now the food. Meh.... Really average and not a good value. Paid $22.50 for a steak sandwich. It was literally a filet (cooked medium well when I asked for medium) on top of a lone sliver piece of garlic toast with some mushrooms on top. I've honestly had better steaks at Applebee's...that's not a compliment! My pregnant wife ordered her burger well done but instead received it medium...hmmmm. I will say that the calamari was good and so were the fries. That's about it. Conclusuion; this place could be a great place in Bellevue to catch a game but the price you pay for what you get (value) just isn't there. Beers are moderately priced....just not the food.

  • Betsy T.

Love the outdoor seating. Service was horrible. It was 20 min before the server even came to us. She was not attentive at all and was not knowledgeable what Vegan was. I would think servers should know by now what vegan and gluten free means. My salad was good. Over priced, but I'm a sucker for ambience, and I really really loved the outdoor seating!

    (3)
  • Paul L.

OMG Ambience: 5 Food: 5 Drinks: 4 Value: 3 Upscale - with water paths and pool on the side. Cozy - outdoor seating with fire pits. Delicious - the ribs and stake nachos. Drinks - deliciously (well, may be stay away from the horseradish drinks). We came here for happy hours with our friends, and we were glad we did. This is probably one of the best happy hour places in Bellevue. The place is kinda small and cozy; it is in the same complex as Tokyo Steakhouse. Definitely upscale, with great drinks and excellent food (with great ambience), without the rustle bustle of Joey's or the overpriced-ness of Blue Martini. WRT Waitresses. This is definitely a hit and miss, you may some noob... or a veteran, like we did, she skillfully navigated us around the menu with good calls on food and drinks.

I met a couple of girlfriend's for HH about 2 weeks after they had opened. This place has that Joey's/Earls feel to it. Girls in black dresses, menu looks the same, etc. I did like the outdoor seating with fireplace in front. It'll be nice once summer gets here. Our server wasn't very knowledgeable when it came to the menu. My girlfriend had asked a couple questions about a few items on the menu and our server had no idea about anything she had asked. It got to the point where we just had our girlfriend not ask because she wasn't going to get an answer. We ended up ordering the sweet potato fries and ginger beef. I only ate the fries and they were fine. Nothing special. The girl's that I was with enjoyed the ginger beef. When it came to the bill I realized that my 2 vodka soda's were $11 each. WTH? I thought it was HH and the server told us that they were $2 off for HH. So with my 2 vodka soda's and sweet potato fries, the bill was about $28. I'm all about paying for food and drinks don't get me wrong but for real? $11 each for vodka soda's? I'm sure I'll be back when this place is a bit more established because it's got potential but I'll be sure I get a more knowledgeable server that knows the menu and knows a bit more about their pricing.

Wow, I can't believe some of the reviews honestly. I grew up in Bellingham and there is one of the first Scotty Browns there (might even be the first) that I usually go to. I really like the feel of this one in Bellevue. Its very clean and makes me feel like a very important person. Yes the food comes in smaller portions but its worth it for the location and feel. My tip is to order the Bellini!

    (5)
  • Colleen H.

Cool location, neat decor & great patio but that's about all. My biggest complaint is that it's overpriced for what they offer. I order the Ahi Tuna appetizer which was good but not amazing, the slaw it was served over was straight from a bag $15. I also ordered the brownie for dessert - major disappointment $8.50. I also noticed they didn't seem to have a hostess & they were busy enough to need one.

  • Hayk S.

We were seated next to a pillar outside and after 25 minutes we left because nobody came to our table. It was a Friday at about 7pm they were maybe 75% full ----- I had brunch here before, and while it was maybe 20% more expensive (over 10$ for a burrito) than what I'd pay for the same kind of food elsewhere, the service was fine, but they burned our waffles and had to re make them, so it took longer to get our food.

    (2)
  • Gracious L.

Be careful at the bar. This has happened to me often enough that I decided to comment. On several occasions I've been charged for drinks I didn't order or short changed when I paid in cash. Funny -- when It's happened the person who did it is always absent from behind the bar when I noticed.

One of my favorite restaurants in Bellingham and I just moved to downtown Bellevue and I found Scotty Brown's here. Service was great ate in the Bar alone and Bartender came around and introduced himself (nice touch). Thanks Zak. Food was as good as I remember in Bellingham atmosphere is top rate. Easy to talk, outside is amazing with fire pits to take off chill. Going to restroom is a long haul. Downstairs and you have to remember a 4 digit code. If I would have been drinking that could have been a challenge. Cards with the bathroom code on them would be nice. Prices are very competitive with other nice restaurants. I will be back.

Came here on a Saturday night for some late night drinks. The place was packed. I love the outdoor seating with the heaters and fireplace. It was actually warm even though we were outside (waiting for our table). My 4 star review is based on the service and the drinks (and the nachos!) as I did not try any entrees. The drink prices are so reasonable for Bellevue. They have this soda drink with orange vodka, soda water, and bellini slushy mix for $4. AMAZING. Other cocktails are about $7-8.5 Service was great for how busy they were. Will definitely be back for drinks (and maybe happy hour?). Food prices are definitely higher than you'de expect. This is an appetizer or after dinner kind of place.

Scotty Browns is new to the area and close to my apartment so I visit about once per week. The staff is really friendly and fun. The food is hit or miss. I don't think they really have an identity. They serve something like Poutine and they should just flat out call it "Poutine" because that is authentic Canadian (the chain is Canadian) and besides, it's fun as hell to say "Poutine". Wish their beer selection was a little more exotic. It's a bit on the expensive side. I can't wait for the weather to get better because I think the outdoor area is going to rock this summer!

  • Mike G.

Scotty Browns seems to market itself as an upscale restaurant. The only thing upscale about it is the neighborhood that it is locate in. This is another example of a below average eatery choosing to set up shop in an upscale neighborhood and transfer their inflated rent cost to the customers. I am starting to think that this is the case with most of downtown Bellevue. As I've seen other people post already, $15 for burger is outrageous. Their burgers are average at best as well. There is absolutely nothing special about Scotty Browns. Most of the people in my party were not happy with their meals either. I personally, thought the server was ok, however, a lot of the people (even at other tables) seemed to think that the service was sub par.

Our group had 6 people- all co-workers who work in the hospitality industry, so let's just say we all notice a lot of things when it comes to service. The booths we were seated in were very comfortable for 6 people- a little snug, but not to bad. The server was prompt and very friendly. She covered the entire menu listing her favorites, guest favorites, ingredients, preparation styles, and even answered a few questions we had. She was quick with waters and soda's we had ordered and quickly took our order to stay with calamari. Calamari was nothing special, but it was quick, hot, and had a great side sauce. We then ordered lunch and she repeated our entire order back to us- which we loved!!! She made sure to have everyone's order correct before entering them into the system. Water, soda, and iced tea were replenished without asking and even before the glass was empty- this was a great service piece for all of us! Every server was assisting with each table- a team effort was very apparent. Our group had ordered all sorts of burgers to try with the special french fries! All were tasty, hot, fast, and easy to eat. We enjoyed this restaurant and will be sending our hotel guests here as much as possible! Great location and summer time the patio will be a hit! Thank you Deborah for great service!

They are off to a good start, nice to have another choice for food. The space is wide open smaller but cozy. The outdoor patio will be the best come those great sunny days. Staff is super friendly and I like that they have several healthier and lite options on the menu.

  • Shannon K.

Scotty B average. We had a party of four and were all underwhelmed by the food. Pretty good drink specials and a young energetic clientele. All in all it's Joey meets Pump House but with worse food and more expensive drinks than the Pump House.

  • Morgane S.

Great decor, perfect location for a sunny day but the food is very disappointing. I just ordered a simple chicken salad, the chicken was still frozen on my salad and the ends burnt. It was just gross. Very poor quality of food to summarize my experience. Needless to say I won't eat there again even if it is just on the bottom of my residence.

My friends and I absolutely love Scotty's! The drinks are always good, the waitresses are so friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a laid back Friday night. One of the best places to go in Bellevue if you're looking for a nice dining experience with a fun vibe! I've never had a bad experience here, so I will undoubtedly return time and time again :)

  • C J.

Food is always great. Everything else not so much. Worst service I've had in Bellevue. Yes the servers are cute but I would rather have someone who cares about giving good service than someone who is too busy being cute and hanging out with the other employees. It is clear they don't really care. I've been there multiple times and it is always the same -very very poor service especially from the tall blonde server. The bartenders are slow and definitely care less than the servers. I just tried to get breakfast there and after waiting for my drink about 15 min I got up and left. There was only 4 other people there and like 3 or 4 servers doing nothing, shooting the shit. She didn't come back for a food order either.

  • Michael S.

Had high hopes for this place, a bar close to my work, but the prices are way too high to justify coming here for lunch. Maybe they're trying to compete with Joey Bellevue, but $13 for a cheeseburger is too damn much when John Howie has a Philly cheesesteak for $15 made with real steak not a block away from this. I guess they're trying to appeal to the corporate account crowd since no one paying out-of-pocket for their lunch could justify paying what they're charging.

First time to visit scotty today. Had nachos as an appetizer and pub burger with a salad. Everything was really good. Also the waitresses were all great and service was fast.

Decided to try out the Scotty Brown's in Bellevue on a Saturday night. I will never be going back. We had your typical blonde waitress and she treated me and my 3 friends like crap. Snotty the whole time, never refilled our drinks, and just didn't want to be there. It seemed like we were inconveniencing her when we ordered something or needed a menu. This is the first time I have stiffed a waitress on the tip, but she was so bad that I wanted to call the manager over. The food was mediocre at best. One of my friends got wings and they were small but very spicy. Would have been nice to know that they are spicy, but no where on the menu does it say this. The calamari seasoning was terrible as well, It had a dirt like aftertaste. There are so many amazing options in Bellevue but this is not one of them. You are better off eating at home then wasting your time and money at this Scotty Browns.

My fiancé and I went here for the first time tonight. We are undecided about whether or not we'll be back. The food was good and our server was very nice. But, wow... talk about overpriced. We got the chicken quesadillas as an appetizer during happy hour, so it was supposed to be $3 off. He got one beer; I got lemonade. We both got burgers. That's it. The bill was $52!!!! I find that outrageous! With the tip, it was $62 for burgers and an appetizer, one beer and some lemonade. We could have gone to a way better restaurant for that kind of money. My biggest complaint though is that the music is so loud that it's obnoxious. It had more of a club feel with the music being so loud than a restaurant. We may give it one more try, but will definitely sit outside next time and will probably go from brunch or something that won't cost so much. We don't mind paying for good food, but I didn't think it was remarkable for that high of a cost. Craziness.

I have seen Bellevue change so much the past few years. And we have decided to try some of the new places. The parking is free which is nice, but the garage is super small and usually packed. The place is smaller than I expected. And its LOUD! We were seated right away but then it took FOREVER to get a waitress. When we finally did, she was nice but very bland. You could hardly hear her talk and she was kind of a vegetable. Its the kind of personalities that have sprung up around here lately. Not rude, but just blah... We finally ordered and it took another 25 minutes to get our appetizer. It was the ginger beef, it was good, spicy and a nice presentation. But then it took forever again to get our food. She kept apologizing, the restaurant was not that busy so I was not sure what was going on. The food was pretty good. Not as good as say Matt's and more expensive. I was not impressed with this place. I don't think we will be going back. I hear the bar is nice, but my first experience was so-so.

I went here for their soft opening, so I won't comment on the "kinks" that they are still trying to work out right now - the wait staff was very cognizant of this and my party was in a rush. The menu seems to be very diverse - Mexican, American and Asian. That being said, I very much enjoyed my tuna bowl and shrimp tacos. These items do seem slightly pricey though and I wonder if they would consider doing a lunch/dinner price differentiation. I also liked the ambiance and the TV setup (wish this place was open for the superbowl!) but it was very cold inside.

If I could give this place a lower score I would. The assistant manager Rebecca I think it was was being extremely rude and practically yelling at one of the server girls right next to my table to where I could hear the whole thing. The girl was waiting my table and did an amazing job. If this place allows the management team to treat the staff like that I don't support this place. From my experience here I would not come back. My food took forever and tasted mediocre at best. Just overall I would take my business elsewhere..

Wow, I was surprised at the totality of the lousy experience. Food was without flavor, service amazingly slow. Sat down before 8pm and didnt get drinks until 820pm. Spicy shrimp tacos lacked any flavor, not even a dash of Tabasco. I could go on, but there's not much point. Thinking of this place for a date? I recommend going someplace else.

If it wasn't for the snotty wait staff I would give the food and ambiance 4 stars. I have never posted a negative review, but, after last night's experience I was compelled to. First, we wanted to sit at one of the outdoor tables- the specific one we choose was still dirty from prior guests, however we asked the waitress if they can clean it so we can sit there. After waiting for over 10 minutes at the dirty table (while four waitresses chatted and laughed by the kitchen) one finally comes over to take our drink order. She proceeds to take our drink order without cleaning the table. When we asked if she can please clean the table first, her response was, "Well why did you sit here? You can move to another table." I pointed out that we wanted that table bc it was right underneath the heat lamps. With an attitude-she said "ok" and walked off. Then she came back and cleaned the table and told us another waitress with come to take our order. Finally a waitress named Destiny showed up. All was fine until it came time pay the bill. We wanted to use two cards and a passport card. She got an attitude and she got loud and said we could not use the passport card bc we did not order two entrees. It was two "appetizers and one entree." I told her I thought one "appetizer" was from the special dinner menu. She didn't say anything she grabbed one card and passport card and did take one of the appetizers off but charged the balance all on one card. When she came back and we ask if she can void and charge two cards she was pissed, got loud again and grabbed the cards corrected the transaction came back and basically threw the bill on our table and walked off. Too bad, I won't go there again. Bc of the poor service and snotty wait staff. Not pleasant at all.

I went there for brunch on Jan 17. Cons: The service was very slow, had to ask for silverware when the dishes were brought to the table. I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were really disappointing - the eggs were hard and just lukewarm, the brioche they used was incredibly hard that even the steak knife had problems cutting through, the hollandaise was ice cold, the breakfast potatoes were not done and hard. Pro: location is ok, probably convenient for people living at the Elements.

Finally, a place in Bellevue with a good outdoor space! On the inside, Scotty Browns has the vibe of a smaller version of Earl's. Lots of TVs, lots of cute waitresses, modern decor with the bar as the center focus. What sets this place apart is the outdoor seating area complete with heating lamps and fire pits! Weather permitting, this could be a cool place to meet friends for drinks. The happy hour isn't amazing by any means, but they do have some good beers on tap. Pros Parking is easy Manny's Good service Outdoor lounge Cons Restrooms are weird (nothing in the restaurant). You need an access code and a map to find them!

Good food and good atmosphere I will definitely be returning, the only down side is the food took probably around 30-45 minutes to get to us. Once it was there we ate it and it was delicious so that made up for it

Been here a couple of times for lunch and can't say enough about it. The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. I consider myself a burger connoisseur and was skeptical when the owner said they had the best burger in town. I responded with "no way... Have you been to The Pumphouse?!" He challenged me to order the burger and even offered to buy it for me. Well, look out Pumphouse... Scotty Browns now officially has my vote for best burger in town. Absolutely fabulous. I have also had their ahi salad which is so good that my mom (who I have eaten with there both times,) has gone back 4 times in the last month just to eat it. We have only been there for lunch, so I can't report on dinner, but I will definitely try dinner there sometime and plan on lunching there regularly!

Yummmmmmy! I had the happy hour tiger roll I think it was called. It was sooooo good! Then I had the ahi tuna salad. The tuna was a thick sear and the texture was perfection. The vinegrette is the perfect match for the mixed greens and wonton strips in there. I would eat that salad every day of my life. My friend had the fish and chips and really enjoyed them. Also on Sundays and Mondays they have really cheap personal pizzas. Shrimp pesto and sun dried tomato one is divine. Served with a lemon wedge! The staff is easy on the eyes too haha

To be honest, I was really disappointed, here's why: Service: Wait staff was pushy, coming back way too frequently to see if we were ready. It was a business lunch and we were trying to talk. Also our waitress didn't seem to actually pay attention to us when we ordered, saying "Huh?" a few times and was unable to explain any of the food "How large is the burger? I am not sure". Really? Ambiance: Comfortable. No issues at all. Nice architectural feel. Food: Options very limited and boring. Burgers, sandwiches, other simple unimaginative options. I had the pasta with chicken which was good, but honestly I could have made it at home. I kind of expect to eat something interesting and imaginative when I go out. My group had a salad, Kobe burger and some sushi, and they just all looked so bland. Just thrown on the plate, squirt some sauce on it. Atleast make my bland boring food look more exciting. Need to step up presentation. Price: This was the deal killer. $15 dollars for a simple burger? $17 for one small grilled chicken breast with a small portion of pasta? Nothing on the lunch menu was less than $15. Yes I am aware I am in Bellevue, but if I am to overpay, I expect a certain level of food quality. Like I said above, the food options were boring. Boring + overpriced = not returning. Why would I when I can literally go next door to Lunchbox Laboratory and overpay for a fun, interesting, quirky burger? So to summarize. Convenient location, nice ambiance, mediocre waitstaff, boring food, overpriced food. Also from what I could tell, not good for kids.

I really like the Bellingham location but I recently relocated close to the heart of Washington. I like this area, good place to park and walk around the downtown. I stop in Bellevue from time to time for conferences, this is my default spot for drinks and eats! Dragon Bowl is by far my favorite menu item! Don't bother with the regular burgers try something you don't see on Red Robbins menu! Branch out and try something new!

Once we finally found the entrance to this place, we had a pretty good experience. The food was very tasty, but certainly overpriced for sandwiches. We went for a late dinner on a weeknight so they were pretty slow. The server was friendly and made sure to check in several times. The bathrooms were outside of the restaurant (down a flight of stairs) and in the lobby of the building which is a bit inconvenient. So -1star for being over priced and inconvenient bathroom situation. Other than that, I liked this place a lot!

  • James S.

Pros: -Food was really quite good. The chef def. knows what's up. Cons: -Interior feels like it was designed by the old folks home across the street entirely by googling variations of "what is cool?" -Waitresses were hired for their ability to fit into tight black dresses instead of their ability to, you know, wait tables. -Ridiculously pricey.

The atmosphere is good, but the foods are average. Salads are not bad. Starters are better, specially in happy ours which you get $3 off for starters. Girls are nice.

My friend and I walked over to this place last Wednesday for dinner. I enjoyed it overall! I ordered the spicy crispy chicken burger which was really tasty. The bacon complimented the chili mayo really well! And their fries were addictive! I'm planning on going back for sure. If any of you are planning a visit, keep in mind though that it can get pretty loud! Either way, the service was fast and the food was really good. I'm excited to sit at their outside patio next time!

Food was good however got asked a very unusual question. I ordered a tuna burger without bacon. Food came with bacon and the manager came and asked me if it was due religious reason I didn't want bacon???? Does it matter what the reason is?? Should you be even asking me that ?? It was funny however I was shocked.

Fantastic customer service, good food (a bit on the pricey side for the selections - e.g. $16 for nachos without meat) and average cocktails. Didn't climb to the top of my Bellevue restaurant list but open to trying it again.

I live right nearby and was looking forward to additional options in the immediate area. I got a burger, which was mediocre. The service was ok but nothing special. These are solvable problems as the place is new. One thing that actually cost them a star - the music. Its so damned loud and obnoxious. I felt like I was in a club, but this isnt a club. Turn the music down. Sitting there to grab a quick 20-30 minute bite resulted in a headache.

I rarely give 1 stars.... but this restaurant? AVOID!!! It was my first time there.. and I am sure that will be my last time there. Where should I start... hmmmh We came to this place just because everybody else has a long wait. And I think that completely explains it. It was our first time and we are usually pretty adventurous as to where to go for food... We sat down, ordered our food (my friend ordered an egg benedict.. i ordered waffles)... in 10 minutes, our waitress came back and said all the waffles are gone... (mind you.. it was 11:30am on a Sunday... no waffles?) we were like ok we're going to get the fish and chips instead... in another 5 minutes, the waitress was like... oh just want to make sure.. you ordered the egg benedict right? We were like... why did not you put in the egg benedict order ? why do you need to wait for the other order... After 45 minutes (!!!!)... and asking them multiple times (nobody apologized for the wait)... we finally got our food.. we saw them and... the waitress dropped the food... we were like oh my god.. are you serious... After almost an hour of wait.. we finally got our food... I told myself if the food is good i'm probably going to be ok... The food... was terrible My friend's egg benedict was supposed to be poached... it turns out to be completely 100% cooked... My fish and chips were dry and tasteless... So food was HORRIBLE... service was bad to say the least... I will not go there again... Other places have 1 hour+ wait? It's OK!

Nice mid-week visit with friends celebrating birthdays. Our wait person was excellent at making recommendations and providing just the right amount of attention. We even called the manager over to be sure to give our wait person the kudos she deserved. Pros: Cocktails on HH were tasty. Food menu was an unfocused array of things, but we liked the yam fries, asian bowl and ahi tuna. The chocolate cake was yummy and comped for the birthday girls. The outdoor seating with tables that include a center fire pit look great. Cons: Our wait person kindly instructed us on best parking spots for our next visit, but failed to mention that the parking garage we told her we parked in (just past the restaurant) closes at 7:00 pm! When we left at 11:00 and found the garage locked, the manager didn't seem overly concerned or responsible. Fortunately, we called an after-hours number and a security guard came from Seattle to give us access to our car. SB should really consider adding a sign "don't park here!" Also, it's odd that SB doesn't have a bathroom. You have to exit the place and go up or down the elevator or escalator, find the bathroom, enter a keypad code, etc. I found it scary as a single woman wandering around a near-empty building with a few characters milling about. Not good. I agree that SB needs to find its focus. I agree that the wait staff look like they came from Joeys or Earls. It was fun, but there are many other places that make SB just blend in with the crowd.

I gotta say, I'm very impressed. Good selection of bar food and other options. Great burger, exceptionally friendly staff, a little pricey but worth it. Just wish it was a larger location, evenings are already packed and they've just opened. Thank you Scotty Browns, I'll be a regular.

This place needs bar help in the worst way. I thought I would stop in to have a cocktail and check out the place since I had never been there before. Anyway, went in and sat at the bar and ordered an Old Fashioned. The gal behind the bar was a little unsure so she huddled with the other bartender gal to discuss. Together I sat and watched them muddle a whole orange slice and cherry in a glass (big no no) then poor in some whiskey, some bitters then topped it all off with a big helping of sweet vermouth. Then they decided to start shaking it in the mixing tin. Once they had the strange mixture all shaken up they poured in a glass and brought it to me. I politely said that I had ordered an old fashioned not a manhatten/old fashioned fusion drink. The bartender then got rude and told me (a real bartender) that's how you make an old fashioned. I politely said well let me just have a Makers on the rocks. I guess she was mad at me for calling out her poor bar knowledge so she poured me a 1oz portion on the rocks and handed it to me. I asked if this was my drink and she said yes. I politely slid the drink back to her and said no thanks I'll just go somewhere else for my drink. Am I being to harsh on these clearly poor untrained bartenders ? maybe, maybe not. My point is don't go to Scotty Browns if you want a real cocktail. I'm sure they could pull off a beer or maybe even a vodka soda. i left and went to Lot #3. Bartender there made a killer Old Fashioned by the way.

Was there last night, they had accommodated us but offered a seat that is for 6 people and we were all 9. We're all squezzing out just to fit in, then a friend came later, they refused to add a chair. When we said we're cancelling the order, and move to another, they immediately grabbed a chair and have our friend a seat. Food was ok, nothing special. Should you go here, reminder that the parking is on the other building. Have fun!

Went to this place on a Saturday night with friends and family a total of 8 people. I made reservations and the hostess staff did a fairly good job trying to accommodate us. It did take longer than expected to clear the tables in preparation for us to be sat. I didn't see anyone bussing the tables other than the servers and hostess staff. Once sat, the service went well, I believe our server could've been a little quicker making her first appearance. My party of people didn't make ordering difficult as we attempted to make her job easier. The service in the end was very good and she even offered to split the checks up which we didn't expect since we had a large party. The food was very good. The tuna was fresh and cooked to perfection. The burgers were full of flavors and not over cooked. I like that you have an option to pick your sides with your order. The drinks were reasonably priced and the Peach Bellini was a huge hit with our group. The biggest complaints we had was the Location of the restaurant, which was very disappointing. The parking situation sucked as nothing is well marked telling you were you can park. The actual size of the restaurant was a let down, a little small. The restaurant had more of a bar feel rather then an inviting family friendly all around gathering spot. I would come here again, but not with parents or kids! Lastly, as I stated above, the food was great, but the menu was limited. I would've liked to see some actual entrees rather than sandwiches and a few bowls. Overall, I would recommend this place as a Bar that serves food, and I will return eventually.

I'm upgrading my review after today's effort by the folks at SB. Apparently their A/V system does not allow them to play the TV audio feed from their amazing array of TVs. Why is unknown. Why have all those TVs and no way to play the audio? Company fail. The management today made a great effort by plugging in a notebook and streaming the audio from Comcast. Unfortunately, it was out of sync and stopped regularly to buffer. I had the tacos for the second time. First time was fish, this time was tequila lime chicken. Perfect consistency....mediocre. Average. Blah. With a tiny hot skillet of rice and bean the dish is $15. It's not worth $7. The beers are $4.5 and $5, which is fair. A-OK is a reasonable rating.

Non Thai making phase Thai???? Great food! Quick service. Only sat outside, not sure what it's like inside.

Staff and bar are nice and clean but the tacos are pathetic. For over $10 I got two chicken tacos with 80% lettuce 10% tomato and 10% actual chicken. That means I paid $10 for less than HALF of a chicken breast. Pretty sad considering I can get BOMB tacos at plenty of other places with plenty of meat for under $10. Everything seems a bit pricey but then again this is Bellevue...

Met a friend here for dinner and drinks. The restaurant is LOUD, their happy hour prices weren't great (and non-happy-hour prices were quite expensive), and the food was bland and somewhat overpriced. We got burgers and appetizers, which were acceptable but uninspired and kind of dry. The wait staff was inattentive. There are better options in the area, like Tap House, Lot #3, and even Rock Bottom.

I really want to like this place, its a really great location and a cool space! Its got a similar vibe to Joeys or Earls however, the food is bland, and way overpriced. I am not one to normally complain about the price of food, but the food is bad enough here that I have no problem complaining ;) Also, the service is really slow. I went recently and after I was seated it took TWENTY MINUTES for anyone to even acknowledge us. It's really a bummer, this place could be so cool

Overall, great place for lunch, especially with the summer like this year. Outdoor seating is fantastic. Food is a little above average. But, that's to be expected. Read some reviews about service, but haven't run into that. The tuna tataki, fish and chips and the almost famous fish burger is what I usually shuffle between. I eat there on a regular basis (once to two times a week), so overall, I really enjoy this place.

Nice interior, attentive servers, decent food, a little spendy but not outrageous, with free parking in the garage below. I hate writing reviews like this because it feels like there's an intangible element that's missing from Scotty Brown's. The restaurant is an upscale sports pub and all the components for a good experience are there (for a few extra bucks than you might spend elsewhere), but the whole experience just seems... missing something. Everything is decently executed, but there's nothing especially remarkable or memorable about anything here. It's kind of like dining in a hotel restaurant that way. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Cowboy Salad ($14) and my husband ordered the Tahitian Tuna Salad ($17.75). They were both tasty but nothing special. It's nice to see a pub with healthy options, including several fish options and the 'healthy bowls' which feature a protein with almond rice and salad type stuff. I returned for brunch a few weeks later and ordered the Steak and Eggs ($16) and my husband ordered the Corned Beef Hash ($16). The breakfast was better than the dinner -- the filet had a nice sear on the outside, they used free-range eggs, and the roasted potatoes were crisp and non-oily. The corned beef was reportedly ok though my husband remarked that the hash was lacking the large chunks of meat that he expects in hash. The restaurant's take on a Bloody Mary is called a Caesar ($6) and is made with Clamato infused with barbecue flavored horseradish. The overall effect is akin to drinking a barbecued potato chip. Tasty, just not what we were expecting and a bit weird if you don't know what Clamato is.

I was prepared to be disappointed as it looked to be another overpriced "hip" place like Blue Martini across the street but I was pleasantly surprised. It's still got the feel of one of those places (kinda a cross b/t Earls and Joey) but I actually thought the food was decent. I liked the HH ribs, the wings were decent size and portion, and the pizza was solid. It's not cheap but it's nice to have another option with decent food and watch a few games. Also I'll look forward to the summer and possibly being able to sit outside. I do feel for the reviewer who lives in the building, this happened to me when I used to live in 989 and a club opened downstairs - it was terrible. Hopefully Scotty Browns doesn't turn into that.

  • Kevin S.

I hit up Scotty Browns with some friends on opening day, I'm left with the feeling its solidly good but nothing unique. Food is upscale pub food - pizza, wings, burgers, tacos, salads, a few entrees, etc. I got the blackened chicken salad which was quite delicious, though too small for a full sized salad. They have an odd obsession with pepper, I'm pretty sure even the busboy had a pepper mill. My friend who ordered nachos was offered pepper. Even the pepper shaker smelled freshly ground. Service was actually really good, they had about double the staff of normal, which I appreciated given how rough some new restaurant openings can go. The servers weren't perfect but they tried hard and the view was pleasant. The menu was hilariously odd. "Street tacos" is a trademarked term of Scotty Browns it appears, which would surprise any taco truck owner I'm sure. These street tacos are oddly on flour tortillas (not corn!?) and come at over twice the price of real street tacos. Asterisks are used more on their menu than any I've seen before and in a regularly confusing manner - like the asterisk for the "social" white/red wine didn't have a corresponding footnote on the same page, rather it is on the other page but not the main footnote, but a different one all with a single asterisk. Confused? We were too. Bottom line, does Scotty Browns really bring Bellevue something new or better? I think not.

The food is very average. Nothing I've had here I would say is particularly good. Having said that, the vibe and service is awesome. If you're not particularly picky about your food and just going to have a drink and some appetizers with some buddies- I would highly reccomend it.
