really really awful generic chain expensive. the four words that explain panera.

In a hurry to grab a sandwich. Multiple people milling around but only one on the register. I get a Mediterranean flat bread sando and an apple. My first bite of the sando had a 3" strand of something black, thicker than a hair. NOT natural. The rest of the sandwich was totally mediocre. The apple was tiny and mealy. Not sure I'm willing to risk another crappy take out meal at Panera.

I stop by this Panera frequently as it is close to my office and home. The parking lot can be exceptionally busy during lunch time, but is pretty open in the evening. The service is fantastic, the employees are really friendly and this location finally has table service. The device they give you to take to your table has GPS technology, once you set it on a table, your location is set. Keep this in mind if you move tables! I am a bit spoiled by my old location in Irvine, I am not a fan of clearing my own table and was surprised that this store has stations for guests to clear their tables. Seating can be tricky at lunch time, I like finding a table by the fire when it is rainy and chilly outside. I have never used the wifi, but there are plenty of patrons using their laptops and working at the tables. My favorite salads are the Thai Chopped Chicken and the Asian Sesame Chicken, both are 230 calories for a half salad. I love the Sierra Turkey on Focaccia with Asiago Cheese, which is a treat at 460 calories for a half sandwich. I usually order the Turkey on Country since it is pretty tasty and less than half the calories. The Chicken Noodle paired with a half sandwich make for a very filling lunch or dinner. Kudos to Panera for having healthy tasty options and great service!

This Panera bread is probably the WORST Panera bread I've been so far. The floor was very dirty with food crumble. The tables were uncleaned. The service was very very slow. The food amount was significantly less than any Panera bread I've been. Also, the food here doesn't taste as good as the food I got from the other Panera bread. Definitely will not go back here again.

Always a long slow line, never ever consistent, clerks aren't even that friendly. Planera Bread is definitely good but not this specific location.

This was my first time at a Panera Bread, and I was impressed. Lots of options, friendly staff, and VERY fresh ingredients. I'll definitely eat here again.

I like panera as a coffee shop nothing else. Coffee tastes great especially hazelnut coffee....bagels are amazing. Lunch is just ok, nothing amazing ... Pastry lacks variety...Staff need to to smile more. I would recommend this place for someone who is looking for a good peaceful meeting place with Wifi... Great place for students..... A nice relaxing music is missing.

The food here is decent enough and the staff are friendly and helpful. However there is one small irritation. Every time I go in they ask if I have a Panera card. No big deal. But they always ask if I want to start one. I've told them I don't want to and asked them to please not ask me anymore. The manager told me that they wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't ask me, it was their policy. Not really a big deal but corporate policy shouldn't trump customer service.

I ordered the italian combo. Something has changed within the last month or so, because in the past the sandwiches have had plenty of meat. This sandwich had a single slice of salami. Way downhill. Will not be returning.

I could not believe this was a bellevue restaurant. Granted, it's a chain, but really, it was by far the worst Panera I have been to. The plus, the food was good and my order was correct. The minuses, the counter is staffed by idiots. I ordered a Soba bowl ( not overly generous but quite tasty) and right on the menu, it said 1/2 salad $2.99. I asked for a half Thai chopped chicken and was told I couldn't get a half salad cause the soba was not pArt of the pick two menu. I said it wasn't a pick two, an add on to a full priced item and it was right on the menu. She looked, said "I don't care what it says, you can't get a half salad". WTF? It's right on the menu!!! She asked another girl who said "Yeah, I think you can but I don't know how to ring it". Are you kidding me? This isn't some off menu, secret menu thing ITS RIGHT THERE!! Finally the third person knew how to ring it. Then we went to get a table and what a filthy pig sty it was. The floors were gross with food, crumbs and paper. We got a relatively clean booth (if you didn't look at the floor) but the next diner had to do get someone to clean a table for them. This is mid afternoon so it's not like it was wall to wall people with a line out the door. There were maybe six occupied tables. Will go to jimmy johns across the street next time or Specialties at the mall. If I owned the franchise for this location I would fire the staff. I bet he is losing customers every day.

So sad this place has gone down hill. It's the staff. Once one of my favorites. Would meet friends here a lot. Hubby loved it, also. But something has gone wrong. Coffee bar always needs something. Tables need to be wiped, etc. Previous staff was attentive to details and made me feel like they were happy to see me. Where did they go? Management, please save this place.

I always come here for the panini. Sometimes the salad or pasta. I don't like the new flatbread though. The food is ok and price is acceptable. But I think they should go back to the old model of having u pick up food from the counter instead of bringing it to your table. They don't have enough people to do all that work in addition to keeping the place clean and remove the dishes/ trash for the trash area. As a result, the seating area is dirty, the trash area is filled with dirty dishes and the staff is stretched thin

Not too bad.. I've only been to this location so I really can't compare it to the others but I thought the food was pretty good. I ordered the steak and white cheddar sandwich and thought it was tasty. I did think it was a tad on the dry side, but the flavors were good, a hint of horseradish in there and that made a difference. I also had their broccoli cheddar soup and that was really good. I do agree that it is on the pricey side, but to be honest what isn't these days??

I just wanted a simple refreshing drink. I walked into Panera happy and smiling and ready for a refreshing drink. Yet was "greeted" by a woman wearing a ball cap that covered her eyes that mumbled something that I assumed was "I can help you.'" The employee had her head down and her name badge was turned so you couldn't see her name. After ordering the drink I was happy to walk away from the gloom and doom feeling at the register. Yet I was not given my proper change or receipt. I gave her a $20 and she gave me change for a $10. More mumbles came my way and she pulled out a calculator. As I said it's just a $10 back. I held the money out so she could see (If she was a visual person I thought that would help her). More time passed in silence as she "worked" the calculator and the mumbles of "oh no" became more pronounced. Now people started to come in behind me. Just a simple refreshing drink, I thought. Sadness hit that youth (she was in her 20's, so not that young) these days are so bad with basic money handling. I spoke firmly and said "it's just a $10 difference. Your drawer will not be off." Finally she gave me the correct change after asking me for the $7 back and I refused. Ahhhhh, transaction done and now time to quench my palate. I stood waiting as she stood there spaced out and the other cashier walked away. 'OH no, She has to make my drink too,' creeped in my mind. I stood there being thankful that I know how to count my money. (No reason to get mad) Then over 5 min passed and I walked over and asked for my drink and she slightly waved her hand and said something. ( I assumed it was there are others I have to ring up) My internal yoda kicked in...."One must be patient in life, yes." I asked the other cashier her name and was told TARA as the lady frowned. Finally Tara dropped off the drink with a mumble and swiftly walked away. The longest I have ever waited for just a drink. (I thought if I had a receipt I would know truly how long I waited, but oh well) Tara, this isn't the job for you. Please do Panera Bread a favor and leave. Please find your happiness and passion, and your life will be enjoyable. Panera Bread, I hope this paints a picture of how customer service goes wrong.

Came in the other day and wouldn't come back or recommend. Go to a different Panera with competent staff. They forgot to make our smoothie and we had to wait till after we got our food for someone to make it. Then we got back to our hotel and realized they didn't give us salad dressing for our salad. Had to go back for that. Their broccoli cheddar soup was thick and congealing and just didn't taste right. Would not ever go back.

***This Panera is a lot like any other Panera; it is not great, but it is probably a better hot breakfast or pastry breakfast option than a lot of the fast food spots out there; this Panera had good service*** This Panera has its own free parking lot.

If you want to wait an ETERNITY to get the wrong order... Come to this Panera. I mean I could have went to the store, purchased items and cooked my food in the time it takes a team of seven people to make a salad and a sandwich. Wasted whole lunch hour waiting just to get food!! To bad I don't have time to eat it now!

I like running into Panera when I need a quick breakfast or salad for lunch. Love the BBQ chicken salad and their breakfast sandwiches are good too! This was the only time I've been to the Bellevue location. Parking lot made it easy and they were really fast to get us our food. Coffee is just ok, but they always have a friendly staff and a large menu to choose from.

The thing I like most about chains is that the product they are selling is usually is consistent to all the other stores. That being said I'm a fan and stop in every now and then for lunch or to pick up bread. I usually end up buy an Asiago Cheese every time I come, don't know why but I really enjoy it. They also make decent bagels as well. All their sandwiches are decent and are great for take out, imagine going to a picnic without actually making stuff woah. This location has free wi-fi and a nice lounge, not a bad place to bagel to snack on and get some work done.

Every time I've been to this Panera I've experienced great customer service. The employees are very nice, I've never had any issues. The food is good, on par with all the other Paneras I've been too. This one has a fairly small seating area, so in the busy hours, it can be difficult to find a seat.

    (4)
  • Matt P.

The food is consistent as with every other Panera, but the staffing is low and the clerks at the register do not have any sense of urgency. With one checker, and the same family of three struggling to order for over 10 minutes, no other cashier was called up and the line was out the door. A young checker walked out of the back, looked at the line, and spent about 3 min clocking in and tying her apron. Speed up people. We don't want to stand in line while you fumble around and avoid responsibility.

There is something so good about Panera Bread. When I feel like a hearty but somewhat healthy lunch, I go here. The Bacon Turkey Bravo on sun dried tomato bread is just so good.

$2.00 cookies? This place is good but it's not cheap. I like Specialties cookies better.

If you been to one Panera, you have been to them all. (Thus copying and pasting from my post from the Redmond restaurant). They all look the same with the same menu. Service is fast and a decent choice for fast lunch. Hubby and I always get the pick 2 menu - salad/soup; sandwich/soup; sandwich/salad. Our child always gets the mac and cheese. Price is not cheap. They make up for it with their awesome rewards program. We feel that we are always getting dollars off our meal or free coffee or free pastry. Specific to the Bellevue store, they need to change the ripped seat cushions. Knock one star off.

CARBOLICIOUS! Bread, pastries, bagels, cookies, scones, rolls, cakes, brownies, sandwiches, muffins, they've got it all! I came here for lunch one time, and shared a Cuban chicken panini with my brother. The sandwich is layered with chicken, ham, pickles, Swiss cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, and sun dried tomato ale mustard. The panini is enough for two people, so I'd recommend splitting it with somebody. The panini is crunchy and savory just like it should be. I really like the sun fried tomato ale mustard. Unfortunately, I've never tried any of their bakery items. At the same time, I am interested in trying their apple pastry, apple crunch muffin, cinnamon chip scone, cobblestone roll, honey wheat, and cinnamon raisin bread. Next time I come back, I'll be sure to get a loaf to go! And a few other things. (=

Overall, I like this place: it's clean and the staff is friendly and accomodating. It can get crowded at times, but I'm fine with that as long as I can find a table. I LOVE their Fuji Apple Chicken salad the clam chowder is not bad either. The service can be a bit slow, but that usually happens during lunchtime, when they are a bit too busy.

Well, I ordered the Italian sannie, and I didn't read the whole description or anything, BUT, my sannie came out with like every kind of animal and bird you can think of (exaggeration - only slight) - it had ham, salami, turkey AND roast beef - HOW is that Italian?! And like one pepperoncini (not chopped up whatsoever) on each half of sannie so most of the bites didn't contain pepperoncini but the ones that did were ridicky... The tomato was sliced ridicky thicky. The lettuce was wilty. The deli meat was piled so thick that the middle of the sannie was ice cold but the bread was warm. The "press" that they used to heat it singed the outside of the bread, so it was like they tried to Panini-ize an Italian poor-boy style sannie. WRONG-O. Just wrongness in every fashion.

I do always feel like I am selling my soul when I come here. The food is meh, the coffee is meh, but it is very convenient to meet people and do homework there. Parking is free and plentiful, wifi is free and the place was obviously made for people to come hang out. I do like their sandwiches I just know I can get a better one at Whole Foods or even at home. Service is very good, the people are friendly and the food arrives quick, and they almost always bring it out to you even though that's not really expected at a counter service place, so I like that.

    (3)
  • John L.

One of the best in Bellevue. Parking is restricted and good Wire-Fire, (Wi-Fi) at 30 minute durations. They don't like taxi's hanging close by. Wish they would bring back pizza bagels! Yelper's enjoy!

I went here thinking it would be a much nicer alternative to a Subway quality sandwich shop. I was slightly disappointed. My sandwich tasted alright but seemed haphazardly put together. I still felt hungry after eating and a little bit ripped off for the price. The service was also kind off. I got the vibe like the employees didn't really want to help, and would rather just talk to each other. The one saving grace of this place is their wonderful bagels. They also have some of the most amazing Mac and cheese I've had in a while.

Good soups, salads, and sandwiches...nothing exceptional or particularily noteworthy, just a solid sandwich joint. I generally only go here when I am visiting my wife for lunch...but otherwise I never make an effort to go here. The black bean soup is a light alternative. The french onion is a step above average. My wife loves the potato soup, and I have to say it's really creamy. The bread is obviously their specialty, and they do not dissapoint. Never had a bad experience here...but never really had a craving to go back. Their salads and sandwiches are good, again, no complaints. It does get a bit crowded during the lunch time rush, so finding a seat may be a bit difficult. They do have a full lineup of pastries, croissants, etc. All around decent sandwich and soup shop. Just not my particular cup of tea.

I visited Panera Bread several times during trips to the Bellevue area for work. The usual Asian Sesame Chicken Salad was always made well wish fresh lettuce, as expected. I was always satisfied with the experience and meal that I received from Panera Bread.

Lately, the lunch time order wait has been atrociously long - there are a few people who have been employees for a long time, but it seems like there are a lot of newbies who lack experience and are excruciatingly slow. Food is like other Panera cafes - tasty but a bit over-priced.

  • Nancy C.

I always think I'm going to love Panera and then it highly disappoints. This was my first visit to the Bellevue location and I will not be going back! I ordered the combo with Tomato soup and Mozzerella/Tomato sandwich. The soup was way to salty and they forgot the cheese croutons and my sandwich was burnt! The employees were all very, very young and really only interested in flirting with each other. When I got back to work and discovered how horrible my lunch was - the person responded with "oh well, next time check it, you can come back and get the croutons" Gee, thanks......... there won't be a next time.

Nom Nom Nom!!!!! If you're looking for a fast, convenient and DELICIOUS lunch, this is the place to go, it's an easy-order walk up to the counter and find your own seating type of place, while you anxiously wait for your buzzer to vibrate when your food is hot and ready. I've only tried Panera twice, and so far it is definitely one of my favorites and it comes highly recommended from me. I'm hoping I can branch out of my "get what i got last time" habit i tend to do when i find something super tasty - but with that I have to say the Smokehouse Turkey Panini is fabulous. Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar & Sun Dried tomato mustard on a cheese bread.. umm.. yes please!! The Fuji Apple salad is a great pairing, and comes in a huge bowl, not just some pewny side salad. The friends i went with today had nothing but amazing things to say about the Mac n' Cheese, so we shared a little bowl of that as well, and oh-em-gee - that's probably what i will be getting next time! Who cares about the calories in that rich, thick creamy cheese sauce when it's THAT good! Do i even need to get started on how amazing the baked goods are? Go try for yourself :)

This is my to-go place for lunch with my kid and other moms with kids. As long as you avoid the lunch rush which is any time bewteen 12-1:30p you can find plenty tables to accomodate your party. I love their tomato mozzarella sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. Their salads are all pretty decent too but not mindblowing great. My daughter loves their mac 'n cheese. It's actually really delicious. Can't imagine how much calories are in that meal but who cares as long as it tastes good. Burn off the excess cals later! Try the hazelnut coffee. I'm addicted to it! Staff here are super friendly and helpful. It has a very homey feeling to the place which is why I keep going back. Super kid friendly with plenty high chairs.

I really like coming to Panera. It does not matter if i am running in to grab something to go, eating a meal with a friend, or if i am by myself with a book or some work i am never disappointed. The food, service, and atmosphere is always good. They have a wide variety of main dishes, delicious seasonal treats, and the you pick two combo is the best of both worlds. However, with that being said, i give this place 3 stars because, Panera does not have the best food ever and the prices are a little on the high end for soup, salad, and sandwiches.

We really like coming to Panera Bread for lunch. The only trouble is, we have to plan ahead a bit to make sure we're near one at lunch time. This time we were heading for Bellevue Square and managed to time it right. As far as we can tell, it doesn't matter what you order: sandwich, salad, soup, coffee, pastry, it's all good. The only disappointment this time was that she ordered a 'Pick 2' combo that had a sandwich on focaccia bread with the french onion soup. It was delicious. It just didn't quite stick with her for the whole afternoon. We're happy that a new location is opening in Woodinville. This will no doubt be a frequent stop during trips to Molbak's and visits to family that recently moved nearby.

  • Robert K.

Come here very frequently and it's consistent which is good. They have great variety and speedy service which is what I expect from a lunch spot. They have free wifi and you can't expect much more with fair pricing. The food taste and quality is good. Dishes: love using the you pick two option. Usually get a standard sandwich and the French onion soup.

  • Sarah M.

I know that most people have an issue with chain restaurants...but this is one of the few "quick stops" that I don't have an issue with. In fact, I love it! They've got a great reasonably priced soup and sandwich combo that I always get - they have vegetarian options, low-fat ideas, and just totally delicious ones, too! I always mix up a carb fest with something semi-healthy and usually end up getting the low fat chicken noodle soup (noodles are awesome!) and the turkey and artichoke sandwich on foccacia. The line can get pretty long here...I try to come a little later in the day to avoid the lunch rush.

Gentrification at its finest, which for Bellevue is saying something, but this Panera Bread did replace K's Beverage House & Deli, an independent deli that was independent enough to serve beer on tap and do keg rentals. However, since this is now the closest food-serving establishment to my apartment, proximity overrode any gentrification-related protests and I gave it a try on a lazy wet Sunday. The clientele is an interesting cross-section of Bellevue; beyond families and normal folk, there was definite representation from the soccer moms, the plastics, and at least one instance of what I'm confident was a low-budget morning-after "thank you" brunch. Nothing says I love (a one night stand with) you like Panera. Free wi-fi is a potential draw, but despite the pleasing color scheme and walking distance, this place still felt a bit too corporate for me to hang out there for any length of time. Service was prompt despite being busy. As for the food, I sampled: - Mediterranean vegetable sandwich: An adequate amount of vegetables and cilantro hummus on tomato basil - very green. Inoffensive but nothing worth repeating. - Turkey chickpea chili: Slightly savory but skimpy on the non-liquid ingredients. It is a bad sign that I have cooked roughly twice in the past 3 years and before the timely sacrifice of my slow cooker on Dan Savage's altar I can and did make better chicken chili. - Frontega chicken panini: Smoked chicken with mozzarella, tomatoes, onions, basil and chipotle mayo on focaccia bread. It was mostly just a gooey mess and I couldn't really tease the flavors apart, but at least it was pleasing goo. With minimal effort often comes minimal reward, and in that respect Panera delivered, but I doubt I'll be back except in case of a lethargy emergency or possibly an ill-fated "thanks... but no thanks" brunch. Really Bellevue, it would be fortuitous urban planning to have a cafe on the outskirts that felt like it belonged in Capitol Hill or Ballard, as it would keep "hipsters" away from the trying-so-hard-to-be-upscale urban center.

I feel it is always hit or miss here. There prices are a bit steep for what you get and sometimes the food is good (cobb salad). I would prefer to support a small local cafe especially after my last experience. But sometimes you have to choose convenience over preference. Me and a few friends stopped in for breakfast before a busy day of shopping. I got the bacon breakfast sandwich and it was no bueno. One piece of rubbery bacon that I felt was in-edible even my boyfriend who LOVES bacon wouldn't eat it. He got the cinnamon roll and french toast bagel and loved it. The other thing that irked me about this place on this particular day was the girl they had working at the front, Shawntel, I'm sorry honey if you are having a bad day or don't like your job you don't have to be a bitch to the customers! We didn't step foot in here to get your snotty little remarks, we just expect you to have a smile and tell us our totals. If you aren't capable of doing that maybe you should find something else to do or at least the management shouldn't allow you to deal with people. We were greatly offended by her snarkiness and left our experience with a bad taste in our mouths.

Like most Panera stores, the Bellevue has lots of open seating, a warm ambiance, and a predictable menu. Unlike other Paneras, this one is operated by high schoolers. Escaping work on a typical Bellevue evening of drizzle and dank, I was eager for a warm dinner. I dashed between raindrops and into Panera at 6:30 - no line - and ordered. Then I was privy to the local high school gossip as the girl at the prep counter chatted with her two friends - apparently Jeremy is SO hot and totally going to ask Amber to prom - as I waited for my food. When my beeper began blinking and buzzing, I happily tossed it in the basket in exchange for the brown sack of food. Alas, it was not what I ordered. The next customer and I realized the mix-up and switched sacks. Confident that I now possessed a half salmon caesar salad and a cup of onion soup, I returned to my hotel. Alas, the salmon was a cold, tough hunk of fish tossed on top of the lettuce. The tiny cup of caesar dressing stood no chance of dampening my heap of ruffage. However, my disappointment in the salad was offset by the soup. Hot, rich, and full of tender onions, I tossed in the croutons and reveled in the flavors. If Paris has the Baguette and Japan has sushi, Washington state should embrace its ownership of good warm soup. Perhaps a sandwich instead of salad next time... but the soup has won a place in my heart.

I used to not like this place. But I feel like it's been getting better in the last few years. A solid 3.5 stars for food. 4 stars for the salads, Ave 3 stars for the soups. I like that they put the calorie count on everything. I reallly like their Fuji apple salad - It's an apple reduction sauce that is slightly sweet and slightly tangy, and it has apple crisps, pecans, fresh lettuce, etc etc. It's a huge portion too, considering I get the half salad and half soup option. They have a big variety of soups, french onion is ok and chain-y... broccoli chedder is ok... I give it 4 stars because it's really a good value, clean, warm, free wi-fi, lots of seating.

  • Jen P.

I like coming here to cheer up on a crappy damp day to have lunch by the fireplace. It's about 10 bucks for a 1/2 sandwich, 1/2 salad combo plus a drink and I get a little table and warmth and some time to read or think. The food is decent enough for a chain place. I tend to go for the turkey or veggie sandwiches and the fuji apple salad (with dressing on the side). I think it's odd that they offer MORE bread as a side for the combo. I almost wish they had a baked chip selection or a discount for no side. My biggest beef is the inadequate seating for the lunch crowd, which tends to lead to awkward hovering over other diners while trying not to spill my tray on them. Overall, I consider it a bit of a splurge for lunch, but a decent quick-ish option if you want to get out of the office for a while.

I'm a fan of Panera in general, and I've had good experiences at this one several times. I have found the staff to always be really upbeat and friendly. The food is standard Panera, but I do usually get breakfast there instead of lunch. They have a good selection of bagels. The restaurant is usually clean and comfortable. I imagine weekdays during normal lunch hours it is pretty crazy, but that's Bellevue for you.

  • Jenevie S.

The hazelnut coffee is yummy! And I would definitely recommend the tomato & mozzarella panini. With that said, it does get very crowded and noisy during lunchtime, which is a pain when you're trying to converse with people at your table.

This (and other Panera locations) is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I have been a patron since 2005, in Ohio, then Wisconsin and now here. It's healthy, tasty and colorful. I usually go for the pick 2 (half sandwich, half salad and/or half soup). They have cold and hot sandwiches, and they have a breakfast menu too. My favorite though is Orchard chicken salad and French Onion soup with either chips or a French baguette on the side. Have it 2 out of 3 times I go to Panera.

I'm only giving one star because the bread was good... The sandwich itself sucked! My husbands sandwich also was pretty gross. My apple was also rotten. I expected much more for the price and all the hype panera gets.I'm pretty sure we won't be back.

I just finished an awesome bread bowl from Panera. Nothing better than hot, creamy soup in a loaf of bread with some delicious Panera coffee on a cold Seattle day.

I was introduced to Panera by a friend of mine from work who absolutely loved the place. If you didn't find him at work during lunch hour, you knew where he was. Havign been there a number of times since, I am begining to understand the appeal. The food is good, the folks are cheerful and parkign is easy. It is a great place to go for lunch when the sun is shining and you happne to be working somewhere in Bellevue. I love the Panini's but the 3-4 soups they also offer are really great. The price is right as well and service is fast. A couple of complaints. They offer either an apple, chips or Baget with a full half sandwich. Or thesame with a soup. And they offer soup with half a sandwich. But you cant have soup as a side with a full sandwich. Given this strange restriction in the permutation of their sales, if you want a full sandwich and a soup you end up paying $5 for a small cup of soup and an extra baget/apple/chips which you already have from you full sandwich. Wish they would change that!!! (And you end up paying $15 instead of the usual $10)

My first impression was not a memorable one hence the low score. Lunch on a weekday is busy with lines almost to the door and 2-3 registers open. The seating area was nearly full, making it hard to find a open seat if you plan on having your meal there. I did like how they gave you a beeper to let you know your order is ready. My half sandwich, cup of clam chowder and small apple was ready quickly I must say. HOWEVER, since I ordered to go, they gave me a plastic FORK for my SOUP!!! Grrr so frustrating. It was too late to go back so I just sipped my soup from the cup. The clam chowder lacked flavor and my sandwich was less than sub par. I'll give them another chance and order something differently but seriously, they need to be more attentive next time.

This Panera is allright. The cashiers are rude. I ordered a carmel latte, and the girl behind the counter seriously huffed, grunted, and loudly told her co-worker that she didn't want to make it. The food is on par with what I've had at every other Panera, but service is slow. Also, whenever I order anything special, like a sandwich with no tomatoes, they never do it. Time and time again, I open the sandwich to see two tomatoes on top of the lettuce. I guess I shouldn't be so picky, but hey, I'm paying $10 for a sandwich and cup of coffee, so I find it irritating that the cashiers are rude and my order is never right.

The prices are a bit steep, but the food is yummy. I wish there was a better selection of vegetarian soups. $1 to add a pastry to a meal is great, as is their new frequent buyer card.

It's nice to have a place to eat around here and actually sit down for a lunch that doesn't cost more than $10. I usually hate chain restaurants, but this one is fine with me. The food is consistently good. I mean, it's not the best soup or sandwich ever, but it's always good. They've also been particularly nice to our company when placing large and complicated orders for pickup. One day I'll go in there and order some bread, it smells so good, but mostly I just go there for lunch. Things to order: French onion soup, broccoli and cheddar soup in a bread bowl, add a cookie for $1, and the seasonal soup and sandwich specials are usually quite good.

Sorely, deeply disappointed. Food was severely under-portioned. My dad and I ordered the soup bowl (which was just ok). But my husband ordered a steak & white cheddar panini of which he called "high-way" robbery. According to him, the quality and the amount of food he was given, he was better off going to Subway and get those $5 footlongs. As for my sister, she ordered Mac&Cheese, which was nothing special. It looks like something that was made in microwave. So sucky!!!!! Shame on you Panera

Meh. I go here because it's close and quick but the sandwiches are odd and over stuffed. I haven't successfully eaten a sandwich without making a huge mess and I haven't found a simple 3-4 ingredient sandwich on the menu. I hate to sub things so I just go with it but I'd be happier if there was a simple meat+lettuce+tomato+mayo option.

Although I've only been here twice before, I honestly have to admit that I don't understand what all the hype is about....I think this place only caters to one kind of people....soccer moms. It's expensive and portions are hardly substantial. Sure I gotta admit that it is definately healthy but it isn't the tastiest or freshest soups and sandwiches....this is like a cheap version of specialty's bakery minus the fresh quality and taste. The whole grain loaf served with my tomato soup was stale and the soup was a bit too spicy. Overall the experience wasn't that good. I highly doubt I'd come here again....specielty's cafe in the mall is much better.

Wasn't really impressed with this Panera. They got my husband's order all wrong. He ordered a steak and egg on ciabatta but they put it on a poppy and onion bagel. My food was good but not great. Overall disappointed.

Since opening back in April - I have hit this place up easily once a week if not twice. I just love their broc/chedder soup! I end up ordering the salad/soup combo and spend around $7. Not bad considering you have free wi-fi and it is a great spot to meet friends or have business meetings. As much as I love their bread (more than chocolate) -- NEED to stay clear from all their great bread products (on Atkins diet now). I love their everything bagels - delicious!! Its making me hungry thinking and typing about it. :( The service is always great too.... always get a professional smile and super friendly staff.

I've never really eaten here so I thought I'd check it out since I was driving by. The sandwich I got (turkey with gouda cheese and bacon) was good, I was actually surprised. And the toffee cookie was delish. I guess I always thought this place was a major chain so it can't be that good but I'm glad they proved me wrong. I would eat here over Subway anyday! I do prefer Specialty's but it's just not conveniently located (inside the mall). I will definitely come back and try their good selection of soups!

Service at the Panera's gets to be confusing. The problem is I love the selections of bread and the coffee, but I don't understand the service. The location in Redmond is a lot better, but I don't understand why the same person that takes my order needs to make my bread order, and then start on my coffee order. And if I order anything else there is a separate counter to pick that item up. It ends up being a lot of monitoring to try and get my food (Which is great!) But if it takes 10-15 mins to get a coffee with a bagel it isn't worth the trouble.

This location does not live up to the standard you can expect in St. Louis, their company home town. The only thing this location is good for is the Bagels. Even the coffee is sometimes lukewarm. The sandwiches are poorly constructed and it looks like they cut corners to save money. If all you need is a bagel or fresh pastry on the morning, then stop by. Don't trust their food service to be accurate. You're more likely to get a serving of high school gossip.

Went there on a Saturday afternoon. The place was full of people sitting and only two tables open which were dirty. I had to search to find someone to wipe a table down. He told me to wait a minute.(Waited about 10)He was stocking already full cups.He finally came over slowly and wiped the table with a very wet cloth.Did not dry. I ordered the French onion soup which was luke warm not that great. The brownie was dry not very fresh.

I called in to place a to-go order for the following day, for my boss and his guests for a meeting. I had them repeat the order back to me, and everything seemed correct so I told them I would be by about 11 AM the next day to pick it up. They said that was fine, and all seemed well. The next day came, and before I headed down from my office, about 10 AM, I called just to confirm that it would be ready by 11 when I arrive. They had lost my order and told me that I must have called a different location. No, I called this location which is a few blocks down from our office. I re-ordered, and said I would be there in an hour at 11. They said okay. I show up, to find that the order is not ready and they ran out of a certain kind of bread needed for one of the sandwiches, so my order was not even MADE or put together at my arrival time. I asked why they didn't call me to ask instead of waiting for me to arrive and ask me, and I asked them how they ran out of the bread my order needed if I ordered it an hour ago (when they still had that specific bread, because I was not informed otherwise), and I was just met with blank stares. They finally get the order put together and I am now running late for this meeting I'm bringing the food for. They gave me the wrong teas, so I had to have them change that, and now am running even more late. Every employee was completely unapologetic as I quickly look through the bag to make sure all the sandwiches are there. I finally get back to my office, and am passing out the food, and realize they didn't give me any of the sides of chips or the brownies that were to go with each sandwich. Thankfully, my boss was completely understanding. My point is, ordering lunch for the office was so much harder than it needed to be with this Panera Bread. Everything was a disaster. They lost the order, when I got the order it was late and wrong, and not one employee apologized for the delay or the mistakes once. I will probably never come here again.

**08/04/2015 Update. No changes. Ordered the kale Cesar salad with chicken. Was disappointed with the lack of kale, Parmesan chips. Why am I paying the up-charge for a kale salad when I'm getting a generic Cesar salad? No point in calling into the restaurant to complain, because they don't answer their phones. I would really hate to stop coming here, because when Panera fulfills their orders right, it's really good food.** Been ordering lunch via rapid order for about a year now. What I love about this place is the healthy options and the rapid order pickup. What throws me off is the inconsistencies. Once, I ordered the power kale Cesar salad. When I got back to my office and opened it, it was a small dry salad. They forgot to put dressing on it. What I had was an overpriced small bunch of kale and parmesan chips. That was not worth the $11 I paid for. The other day, I ordered the chicken avocado cobb salad with chopped bacon. But there wasn't any bacon it. The day after, I reordered the same salad. But this time, instead of giving me a whole boiled egg, they gave me half of one. I noticed the portions are always a surprise gift bag. Sometimes big, sometimes small. Ratios are up in the air, too. Sometimes there's crazy amount of chicken in the salad, some other times there's hardly any. The inconsistencies are rather frustrating. The staff should use portion guides. If you run out of an ingredient, let me know at least, so I don't think you forgot. Also, don't substitute without my knowledge, or worse, charge me for something you can't provide.

It is so sad that Panera's thinks they need to continually change their menu. I used to love this place and the fresh selection, unfortunately now they are supporting the old adage "It must taste horrible to be good for you". I tried the Turkey cranberry flatbread sandwich and it was truly one of the worst things I have ever put in my mouth. This is the third new item I have tried and been severely disappointed, though this was the worst. I will only coming back for their wonderful soups- at least until they change them.

I've been going here a lot more frequently during lunch, and as a result, have grown to like it a lot more. I've found some items on the menu that I can expect to be delicious each time I order them. Also, the atmosphere has grown on me. It has a nice cozy feel to it. Similar to a coffeeshop, but for whatever reason I like it more. As for the food, I personally enjoy the Steak and White Cheddar Panini. It has the most calories of paninis and sandwiches, but SO worth it! The Turkey Chili is fantastic. It's delicious, filling, and always gives me a great sense of nourishment when I eat it. I would recommend those items for those new to Panera.

OMG - the only reason this Panera Bread gets a star is because the food and bevies are tasty. We have been to this location many times and have experienced their mediocre service, but today takes the cake. We arrived a few minutes to spare before breakfast ended, and one couple was in front of us placing their order. By the time the cashier finished their transaction, it was 11:03am. My BF ordered a breakfast sandwich, and the cashier says that breakfast ended at 11...that was THREE MINUTES AGO?!?!? You aren't going to make an exception? Did the eggs just get automatically locked up until 6am tomorrow? He ended up only ordering coffee. I ordered a bagel, toasted, with cream cheese, tomato and avocado. What did I get? A toasted bagel. A container of sliced tomato, a container of cream cheese and a container of 1/2 an avocado - still in its skin. I actually had to MAKE MY OWN SANDWICH. Customer service = zero stars. Who owns this franchise? They need to do a complete staffing overhaul. PS - with regards to the coffee, for over a year now, the to-go cups have leaked and require double cups...paper cups are not new technology...how many defective coffee cups did you preorder? And why don't you have the manufacturer fix this issue? In addition to overhauling your service team, you might also want to take a look at your procurement and supply chain teams.

Great food and parking, but service was horribbllleeee. All I wanted was a chocolate chip bagel with honey walnut cream cheese and a bear claw. I had to repeat my order to the associate taking my order three times and he didn't even put onto my order the bear claw. After I paid, I was already so tired of his "i dont care" attitude that I didn't even mention the bear claw I just wanted to leave. When he was getting my bagel, he forgot which cream cheese I wanted AGAIN. I'm only giving this location a two star because the food was great, as usual!

I went for an early lunch today as I was pretty hungry. I ordered a Chicken Cobb salad with Avocado to go. I got back to the office and started eating. Had the usual yumminess that I expect. I was enjoying it until about halfway through the salad when I realized there was no avocado to be found. Rawr! I double checked my receipt just to make sure they didn't charge me for a salad without avocado, which would have been perfectly fine. Alas, they did charge me for avocado. Had this been an isolated incident, I probably would have given a 3 star or higher review. Mistakes happen. Unfortunately, it's not isolated. A couple of months ago my coworkers and I ordered from this location for a working lunch. Four of us ordered some type of chicken salad but only two of us actually had chicken in their salad. What in the what??? No one orders a chicken salad and asks to hold the chicken. Coincidentally, the man who ordered before me requested a salad without chicken. I wonder if they gave him chicken. Or maybe he got my avocado! I probably won't be returning to this location for awhile. And if/when I do go back, I will definitely make sure to check that my order is correct before leaving, which I should have done anyway. My fault there. That still doesn't excuse the fact that quality control is lacking. It's a shame because everyone is really friendly and I found it to be a nice atmosphere. Hence the second star.

I always feel a bit silly reviewing this type of chain, but we stop here all the time because of its convenient Bellevue location, and consistent, decent quality food that isn't the usual greasy fast food. I appreciate the plentiful free parking (in Bellevue!), and there's usually plenty of comfortable seating inside, too. In chilly weather, the gas fireplace is a nice touch. I've found the staff here generally friendly and the restaurant generally clean. It's never been horribly busy around the times we stop by, usually around dinner. The prices are very reasonable and I like the little perks that come with the loyalty program - a free birthday cookie or the occasional pastry.

Pretty good dining experience at Panera, but nothing much to write home about. I had the mediterranean veggie sandwich which was quite nice but had nothing particularly mediterranean about it - standard vegetables and unremarkable hummus. I enjoyed their frozen lemonade, it was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't seek out a Panera bread again though - there really isn't anything about their menu thats exciting, especially for a vegetarian. Much prefer the local bakeries that put a great deal more ingenuity in their line-up.

Who ever has this location should be fired. The worst service of a good product anywhere. I have been to many Panera's in Washington and California. Last two trips were awful.... I'm done. Today it took 20 mins to get my order to dine in. The place was a mess, food and garbage all over the place. Went in at 2 pm not a busy time. Everyone was in slow motion and acted like they were doing me a favor to service me. Sandwich sucked, fell apart on delivery, soup was ice cold. I watched many disgruntled customers complain and leave. Won't be back... Don't order a takeout salad, it will be half the size it should be and will give you the wrong dressing

Great food, good drinks, and perfect service. I walked in on a hot summer day and nearly all of their cold drinks were out, the associate was very patient in explaining the ones they had left and ended up giving me a drink for free because she felt so bad that they were out. They also have great air conditioning, wifi, and overall atmosphere. Highly recommend! Especially for their pastries and bread.

I've been to many Paneras but this one takes the cake for being dirty. It took me longer to find a clean seat and clean off the table myself and chair then it did then to order. Also, keep in mind in the middle of my order the cashier stop taking my order and started talking to coworkers that were leaving and I had to ask if they were ready to take my order and that's when she said yes and finished up. I just thought it was rude and u only was craving tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. The biggest thing that comes to my mind if the lobby looks this dirty, how are they taking care of their kitchen?

  • Stella G.

Disappointed in their service. First, they forgot my soup, then brought it without the bread. And later when I asked if they can heat up the bear claw, the employee pointed me to the the microwave. There was no customers when we came in so can't blame it on being busy.

My wife and I ate here on 8 April 2015. After eating the pasta primavera, she immediately came down with stomach pains and has been incapacitated by food poisoning. It's a serviceable restaurant, like all other Panera. I've dined here several times -- mostly salads and soup/sandwich. I have been to few other Paneras (including couple out of state). Paneras, in general, seems to be buzzing all day long. They are usually busy and I can feel that people enjoy the food and the experience. I am a fan of their concept. But this particular place seems to lack passion. The staff are barely there and people just come and eat -- it's not a dining experience. Am I expecting too much?

I don't normally write reviews but my experience at this Panera was so awful that I had to speak up. I would give it 0 stars if I was able to. I went last Saturday morning and the store was not busy at all. I ordered an iced cafe drink and waited by the pick up area. I noticed that there was around 7-9 employees walking around the kitchen/barista area with nothing to do. After waiting 10 minutes, one employee finally asked me if I was waiting for something. I responded saying yes, that I had ordered an iced cafe a while ago and have not yet received it. 5 minutes later still nothing.... At this point I was so frustrated that it took so long to make a simple beverage. I could not understand how not one of the many employees could make my beverage since they didn't seem to have anything to do anyways. A few minutes later the cashier who had rang me up finally made my drink and I was on my way. The drink tasted awful so it was a long wait for a crappy drink. The beverage itself didn't bother me as much as the customer service and the staff at this store. There is no reason why there needs to be that many employees on shift when they STAND AROUND AND TALK TO EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF FULFILLING ORDERS.

Overall, this Panera Bread place in its customer service, facility hygiene and food quality are definitely not worth your time or money. Starbucks may have to pay money to Panera for the free advertising as Panera overall makes Howard Schultz's establishments look like a Ruth Chris had merged with them. Facility: Yes, please allow me to bus my own table but since I do not have access of a towel soaked with a 10% bleach solution, could you attempt to wipe down the tables? The tables look like they've never been wiped down the whole day most days I used to go. Customer Service: If you have a stroke, heart attack or desire to get something in under five minutes, forget it. To Panera staff, you either don't exist or are partially a full on moron in their eyes. The customer service is like being dumped; they tell you how great you are but their expression and the detachment clearly tell you they are not interested in you, don't care and have no plans in the immediate future to be glad to see you. Food: If you are the type too tired, lazy or unequipped to make your own coffee, breakfast, lunch, etc., this place is pure inspiration. A power salad? So the lettuce spent so much energy growing it wilted and now is on your plate. Have a power breakfast! The power of bland! Bleh! In brief: I don't know you but I want you to look in a mirror and say to yourself that you deserve better than Panera Bread but also believe in yourself that you do not get treated like somebody who is currently doing time in King County Jail. The management here should get fired for letting this store fall apart for so long.

I had their turkey avocado blt and the lentil quinoa broth bowl for lunch. Both are okay - nothing extraordinary. Curious about the other items, especially the baked stuff. Nice, clean location. Great customer service; warm and friendly staff. Bus your own table. Free wifi. Iced coffee is not iced nor cold. Will I come back? Probably. I have a weird obsession with chain restaurants.

It's always a healthy choice to choose panera bread! I love the flatbread sandwiches and paninis they have! I usually love lean meat and so I choose chicken and turkey options they have.. Their soups are really good and flavorful. The service is also prompt and reasonably good. Thumbs up! :)

There's not too much to say about Panera. It's a great chain, they always have wonderful food and they tend to be pretty in and out with the service. Steven is one of my favorite people that works here. He always has a fantastic attitude and is extremely personable and funny!

I didn't know this Panera even existed until recently - it's tucked away in a strip mall a few blocks up from Bellevue Square. The location is central enough that I drive by it often but it's doubtful that I'll ever go back to this one on purpose. The biggest issue I think is they seem understaffed. The cashiers up front were so nice, friendly, fast and efficient. The food came out fresh and hot (I absolutely adore the asiago cheese bagel and those mini quiche soufflé!) But almost all of the tables were dirty and the bussing stations were piled with dishes. Now we were there at the tail end of the breakfast rush. And at one point I saw the manager helping bus tables. I felt sorry for the staff - they all were so nice but just seemed in such a hurry and it was obviously difficult for them to keep up. Not sure who does the staffing or if they just had a lot of sick calls that day or what. But this place needs more help. Aside from everything - the food was good and they were kind to us taking over a table to work on a project for an hour - so three stars.

Panera over the years has gone downhill. I used to really love their food and felt like I got really great quality food at a decent price. The other day at the downtown Bellevue location I ordered an Asian Sesame salad with the chicken on the side and I got a pile of wilted lettuce with some fried sesame noodles (AND NOTHING ELSE). It was not appetizing at all. I am sure the salad dressing had aspartame in it. It was disgusting! The one thing I come for is a large ice tea unsweetened with lemon. They did not have that but offered me green tea iced instead. I asked if it was sweetened and the girl servicing me said no, but when I received it, it was very sweet, in a small cup, neon green like, and not available for refill... Not that I would even want one. So, in the end, I had a VERY SAD salad, without a drink for $14. Overall the experience was highly disappointing. I waited in line for over 15 minutes and for my food for well over 20 minutes. I am really disappointed in Panera and the company has lost my business. The worst part about this place was that NO ONE seemed to care, not even the management. Funny, I heard on the news that they were getting rid of artificial preservatives, and GMOs and I did not see even a hint of that kind of food.

So I got a free cupcake with my lettuce wrap that I added cheese to. After 15 min at lunch, the wrap arrived as a pile of lettuce leaves with some turkey slices and sliced tomatoes. They forgot the cheese. And the center of the cupcake was uncooked/undercooked.

Talk about disappointment ! This store has no concept of customer service or being professional in the service they provide. Thursday we ordered breakfast for the office for Friday delivery. At 8.27PM Panera decided to leave a voicemail at my work phone after hours informing me that my order has been cancelled due to being shorthanded. Luckily I checked my voicemail from home at 9PM and caught the message in time to order breakfast through another company. I called the store to give them some feedback they came up with some excuse of not receiving my order in time due to a glitch and so when they saw it they cancelled it. Spoke to the store manager Neil who seriously does not get the seriousness of the situation. We put out trust with companies like Panera and rely on them for their service. Luckily the food we ordered was just for the office not a client meeting. We have been Panera customers ever since they opened their store in Bellevue and are heavily disappointed with their lack of understanding, compassion and professionalism. We order Panera 5-6 times a month and this is what we got for our loyalty. Surely we will not be using Panera for any services. We rather trust another company that respects and excel in their customer service that Panera Bellevue who just don't care. If i could i would give them no star !

It seemed very nice and I was excited to have my sliced and toasted asiago bagel (which sounds heavenly) but when I got home, I realized they had never put my bagel in the bag! When I returned and showed them the receipt, they apologized and gave me an onion bagel which was neither sliced or toasted. I found the staff uncaring and unhelpful. I was very disappointed.

This really isn't a poor review... I just can't bring myself to go above Yelp's definition of two stars of "Meh, I've experienced better" and make it up to "A-OK". It's more *just* OK than *A*. So, have experienced better it is. We had Panera at work for a lunch meeting recently. They delivered to the office right on time. (To be honest, I don't know if Panera themselves delivered or if a different order service was used-so don't get your knickers in a twist if Panera doesn't actually deliver) I've had much better little lunch boxes at pretty much everywhere I've had them before. Of the options, I chose the Chipotle Chicken Panini. It came in a ridiculously sized box comparative to the sandwich inside and a small bag of their brand of plain kettle baked potato chips. Do they just use one size box for everything? you seriously could have fit 5 lunches in there. Anyway. It was a sandwich/panini. It had chips. The box was enormous. That's it. I imagine it's much better super fresh, or not as a panini (those really aren't my favorite, but of what I could choose from it was the best bet) So, you know, slightly above "Meh, I've experienced better" but just falls short of "A-OK".

There's nothing in the morning that compares to the smell of freshly baked bread that wafted around inside this Panera restaurant. I was in Seattle for the weekend and was looking for a nice hot breakfast to start my day off right. I decided to try the sausage and Gouda soufflé. It is shaped like a souffle, but resembles a croissant stuffed with sausage and warm melty cheese. It was already hot so I didn't even have to wait long to get it. The dining room is attractive, but so was the warm sunshine outside so I picked up a cup of dark roast coffee and headed outside. There are eleven black metal cafe tables on the sidewalk outside.. Six of them stretch down one side of the restaurant and five down the other. The traffic was not heavy at that early hour on a Saturday so it was pleasant to sit outside and eat. They also carry a variety of bagels and pastas and salads for lunch and dinner. They have a full bakery where you can buy all types of pastries and even buy bread by the loaf.

Yes, I am that customer who orders off menu. I ordered a bagel with egg, I fortunately asked for it to be scrambled BEFORE it arrived, and after a couple of behind the counter conversations, my request was made. Thank you very much for such quality customer service. I had a meeting here mid morning and the crowd was a combination of coffee sippers, business meetings, and those using the wifi. Interesting, the place has table service... Quite impressive!

This is a solid Panera located a few blocks from Bellevue Square. The service was fine, and the cashier even reminded me that I had a free pastry from the Rewards program. The bagel I had was good although coupled with the cream cheese it was about $3 which is a bit on the pricey side. Their water cups were quite large. Their free wi-fi had no problems. Their chocolate chip muffies are delicious. I need that recipe!

Why of who do I always feel guilty about reviewing a chain restaurant. I think the food snobbery of Seattle is starting to wear off on me. But I'm in Seattle at the moment, THIS IS BELLEVUE (just imagine that was Vin Diesel's voice from fast and the furious instead of mine). So let's just review the highlights of Panera Bread. Pull up and park right in front of the store. Nice. The place smells kind of like a bakery, who doesn't love cookies. I order a ham and cheese on rye. It comes with chips and a pickle. But before I check out I get a giant cookie because like I said who doesn't love cookies. Total damage $10, not to bad for lunch and a sugar fix. PS: After leaving Panera I went to Subway and told the cashier to tell Subway that there is new sheriff in town.

    Slowest Panera ever.

How do you run out of bread, when your franchise name actually boasts of Bread??!!! I feel like they should be reported to their corporate offices or something! I will never be going back to this place again. Not only was it terribly underwhelming in portion, flavor and service, but I left even more hungry than when I showed up. Save your money and go somewhere else!

The line kills me every time I go here. Management needs to figure out a way to expedite service at busy times
