This is the worst belt sushi place I have ever set a foot in. Few years ago I came here a lot with my friends, we always enjoyed cheap sushi (low quality yes, but you get what you pay for). Now I often visit the location in Queen Anne and have satisfactory dining experiences. However, I just went back to this Bellevue location last night with my boyfriend and was extrememly disappointed. 1. There was no service. The waitress motioned us to sit down at a corner because she was on the phone, which is understandable. Then we had to flag down another waitress to get tea, and then to order three items because there was nothing on the belt that I would even like to touch. Two out of three orders didn't even come - we had to just leave - and the few plates of salmon we ordered, the Hispanic sushi chef put them on the belt, scattered around between other plates on the belt all around him, and told us "you ordered salmon? it's on the belt." What? We ORDERED it - that means we want it in front of us, not on the belt for us to pick up. 2. Sushi quality is so low that I'm not sure I would eat it even if they pay me. I don't know if they get the fish from same source as their Quenn Anne store does, but this was definitely much worse - even the rolls weren't made properly, spilling its guts all over the plate with a touch of chopsticks. 3. Dirty restaurant - bathroom was just filthy, the condiment tray was not kept clean, and the venue in general was dirty enough to make me uneasy. This is really disappointing - I thought Sushi Land was a step above Genki Sushi, but the bellevue location has gone downhill so bad, I feel bad for anyone who thinks this place is even mildly okay. If Yelp had negative rating options, I'd give this place Negative Five. It's so bad that I felt compelled to sign up for Yelp and write my first review. Yes, THAT bad.

It's not trying to be anything beyond what it is - pretty tasty and clean, not a lot of fancy arrangements for sushi, slightly repetitive, a little too much imitation crab and thousand island and hot-sour sauce on a lot of things. It's fine, though. Here's why: if you are focused in your strategy and just order (a few things at a time; they won't be checking in on you) off the menu, you can keep costs down, save time, and have exactly what you need. In my case, the things needed are: seared salmon, eel, spider roll, and salmon nigiri. When the salmon nigiri is marbly and beautiful, it is the best per price point that we have found in the area. The staff are actually really nice, but they are disengaged. They aren't there to entertain and coddle you. That's fine because for the price, you're not paying for cloth-napkin dining type of attention. You have to be assertive if you don't want to just get by with conveyor belt plates - they do get very boring/generic. The fried stuff is all chewy and cold unless you order them in real time. My recommendation is to be clear on what you want, go into the place knowing how not to get too full on random sushi, and be prepared to enjoy a realistic, down-to-earth, beyond fair business transaction and dining experience. I have been about 1 time/mo just in the last year. It's not gourmet but it is nothing to laugh at. It's not going to surprise you or let you down. Sometimes you want this. Like on Saturday "mornings" or between daily obligations. It's as quick and on-point as you make it. 4 stars is fair when you manage your expectations. If you want more variety and more customer service, I recommend going to the Queen Anne Sushi Land instead because it's objectively better.

I consider this place the classic conveyer belt sushi place. I remember coming here before they opened their Redmond branch. And before, it feels like, everyone else followed suit. Overall I don't think their sushi is that great and the Bellevue one is old. Looks old on the outside, looks old on the inside, sushi is cheap, kindof in a weird hidden location...but it's super affordable and my friends and I keep finding our way back. I guess it's a nice place to hang out for a super fast $8 meal.

Waiting for your order during rush hours are crazy ... We even waited longer than 20 mins or so just to get our order at one point But...........I love this place, the price, the funny workers and the food is really good. Although, sometimes waiting can be a hassle because when your hungry you get inpatient . However, my husband and I is pretty patient so we manage to go through the craziness and still leave a tip even when times are blah waiting forever because they forgot the order. Otherwise, we still recommended going to this place and bringing your friends once in awhile just to feed your sushi cravings :D

Sushi here are actually not bad. I love it. It taste like sushi from Vancouver. Its owned by a Japanese and so in someways its authentic. The part its not I guess is that its located in America. :P My favorite is the scallop hortate. That was delicious. As well the prices are quite reasonable. I like the fact that you can see it before eating it. The plates starts off as $1.50 and move up from there. As well you can have it made to order. You have to order the ice cream for $1.50 its quite huge. They have mango, green tea and red bean. Really yummy. You can tell the sushi is fresh because you can taste it and i did see the sushi chef cutting the fish up in the middle of the restaurant.

Sushi is not really my thing, but i LOVE this place. I first went there for my bf's sisters birthday dinner and was so surprised! I loved the shrimp tempura roll. Next time i came i tried the house roll bc it has no seaweed in it (which is why I avoid sushi) it's SO GOOD! Tuna and crab with cucumber 3 pieces of sushi for 1$ WHAT!? WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE! You can't even order anything from McDonald's on the value menu for that cheap. I also had the miso soup which was good and the calamari. It's no luxury calamari, but for 1.50 it's pretty good! My bf and I just went there for dinner tonight and were so full after eating just 7$ worth of sushi. This place is like the Disneyland of sushi. I like the colorful atmosphere and the lighting makes it happy. The only bad thing is sometimes it's kind of hard to flag down a server to order what you want if it's not on the belt -___-

Now that I am spending more time in Bellevue, I thought I'd check out my old favorite sushi place. Boy was I disappointed with what I saw. (By the way.. I came back a few times to make sure it wasn't just a bad day for the restaurant.) First of all, So sad that Keith is gone. I never saw this type of behavior under his management. Secondly..... BIG CLEANLINESS / HEALTH issues.. Time after time I saw the sushi chefs NOT CHANGE THEIR GLOVES after cleaning or taking out the TRASH. Every once in a while, some of them would just go and take a paper towel and clean off the gloves (minus any water or soap), but most of the time, the gloves just stayed on no matter what. BIG health hazards.. Especially with the high standards that should be expected with handling raw seafood. I am definitely staying away until I hear of improvements. A BIG disappointment

I have a strange fancy pants allergy, whenever I eat unfresh foods (particularly seafood-shellfish), I'll break out in body hives. This makes me extremely wary to any B-class sushi restaurants but I figured Benadryl would come to my rescue in worst case scenario. Clearly I avoided a few choice fish & shellfish here but surprisingly, I was able to eat most without a single hive! I ordered second helpings of Ika, Eel, and Seared Salmon. They were out of Uni, Takoyaki, Spider roll, etc but it may have been just the case of the Mondays. I did notice that the rice was on the dry side and the avocado was discolored in the rolls. The venue is really small and outdated. But you can't find cheaper fish elsewhere, and service is decent.

Food: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Service: 4/5 I've been coming to Marinepolis Sushiland for over 5 years and I will keep coming back for more. :) The food has never disappointed me. I can always except to be served with exceptional and fresh sushi when I come in! The only downside is that this restaurant tends to be very popular around the lunch and dinner hours. The servers are not ignoring you, it's just difficult to serve a large amount of patrons at the same time. Please be understanding! :) Itadakimasu!

I came here three years ago and was disgusted, I came at peak dinner hours and this place was empty. When I mean empty I mean empty! No patrons and almost no sushi. At this point I didn't want to return to this location and chose Redmond's alternative. After my companies photoshoot at Enatai last month I was forced to make an executive decision and choose a close sushi spot that was in everyone's budget. Blue c sushi is black listed and I wasn't feeling sushi maru, I felt that I love sushi was a little over budget for some of our members so I decided to try this spot hoping they have changed. What a different experience! There is sushi here that I haven't even seen at the Redmond location, when I ordered seared salmon and calamari it took minutes instead of never seeing a single plate! Service is very friendly and there were plenty of people here! Since then I have returned thinking maybe it was a fluke. That's a big negative! These guys have been pretty consistent and I'm so happy to call myself a new regular because I will happily return again and again!

Looking for "Okay" sushi? Value is reasonable and better than Genki Sushi. Their rise is less and thicker fish compare to Genki.

Came here during lunch on a Thursday. There's a parking lot outside, but slightly limited. The storefront and decor is fairly plain and unassuming, looks slightly dirty and rundown. There was a short line with about a 5-10 minute wait for 2 of us. Though the establishment doesn't look that clean, the prices are definitely cheap at $1-$3 per plate. Some of the stuff on the conveyor belt didn't look so appetizing and might have been on there a while. But, as with most conveyor belt sushi places, you can just order directly from the chefs, which is what we mostly did. That way you get the freshest plates at the expense of a small wait. They have a decent variety in the menu. I thought the eel was pretty good, and probably enjoyed the seared salmon the most. They also can do some off the menu items. We didn't see it on the menu, but saw another customer order seared shrimp with siracha sauce, which we also then ordered and turned out pretty good!

After trying out other kaiten-zushi around Bellevue (Blue C, Sushi Me, and Maru Sushi) I feel the need to update my review. Out of all these places I still prefer Sushiland. It may not be the best looking restaurant but when it comes to taste, especially from a salmon lover, this place wins. There is just something about the right combination of texture, moisture, and taste that I love about their salmon nigiri and seared salmon. I would come here for those alone. The calamari is also quite delicious and offered at an amazing price. It isn't always on the conveyor belt so you will probably have to order it. The dish is delicately fried and not too chewy. Perfect. Their miso soup is always a great edition to the meal. Order a fresh Spider Roll and you'll discover the heaven that is crunchy, warm goodness. With competing kaiten-zushi restaurants in close proximity to Sushiland, it is obvious that business isn't quite what it used to be. I was there during normal lunch hours today at about noon and the place was surprisingly empty. I don't think this has anything to do with the quality of their dishes. There is just more competition now. The only reason why I tried Maru Sushi last week was because I figured Sushiland would be too crowded (and I was on a timed schedule). Sure, Sushiland isn't the prettiest place on the block but it is the cheapest and in my opinion, the most delicious. Their customer service has also improved since the loss of traffic. The sushi cooks will now randomly ask you if you're finding everything okay. They will almost always greet you and thank you - and they don't nearly sound as strained compared to other places who force their employees to speak in Japanese. Another thing I noticed was how they treat their employees. The increase of immigrant employees in the food industry is apparent. The Japanese management really seem to treat their employees as equals and will even speak in Spanish to those who aren't comfortable with English. Everyone seems to be relatively happy to be there. When a customer notices good work ethics, especially when their focus is primarily on the food, I think that deserves another star. Another good sign is that they get Japanese costumers. I consistently notice them chatting in Japanese with the employees. And that lady who works there - the one who is always so cheerful and peppy - has the cutest voice ever. If you're a regular you know who I'm talking about!

First of all, the quality of the sushi is beyond reproach at the prices they charge. A screaming deal. So why am I giving this three stars? Ambience and service. This place is way way too popular for its own good. The staff is stretched thin and takes forever to seat you and get your check. The ambience is that of a cheezy American style diner that happens to have a sushi belt in the middle of it. If you're on the Eastside, I would advise going to the Redmond location - much better.

Love this place. No, it's not the finest sushi around but what a value with some plates of sushi at $1 for two pieces and California rolls at $1.50 for three pieces. The lunchtime help is pretty friendly too. Highly recommended.

I'm a fan of the Sushiland chains. I decided to go to this one instead of Tukwila's, because I wanted better service. Yes, I did get better service, but we were there as soon as they opened so it wasn't busy at all. My main gripe with this Sushiland was that the agedashi tofu and one of my friend's coke tasted of soap! It was extremely nasty to taste or drink. We didn't bother asking for a new one since they took long enough getting the agedashi tofu to us in the first place, and I let my friend drink the remainder of my soda. I only eat house specials, and they're the same everywhere, but my boyfriend didn't like their quality of sushi when compared to the other Sushilands we've been to. I won't be going to this one again. I guess I have to stick with the terrible service at Tukwila.

How can you not like this place? It's the cheapest sushi I've ever seen, and it's still decent, at least for stuff like California rolls. You shouldn't come here expecting the classy stuff or really good sashimi. I like the conveyor belt idea (even if there's that nagging worry that the next plate that you're going to grab has been sitting there for several hours), and I like how you can see the chefs preparing the sushi and cutting open giant fish. The service isn't amazing, but what were you expecting? It's a conveyor belt. And dirt cheap sushi. A note: you can also order things if you don't see them on the conveyor belt. It can be a little bit of a feat to get the attention of one of the chefs, but they'll generally whip together whatever you ask for.

Wife and I have frequented 3 conveyor belt sushi joints in the area: Sushi Land Bellevue, SL Redmond and Sushi Connections here in Woodinville. Sushi Land Bellevue is very good, but SL in Redmond beats it out slightly. Bellevue loses some pts on the fish-market smell that pervades the place. Also, the screeching of one of the chefs is quite irritating (Purely cultural, I know. Her culture has taught her that she should sound like that, so I don't blame her personnally. But it is REALLY annoying.) Price: 4 stars Sushi Variety: 4 stars Tastiness: 4 stars (@mussels, @seared salmon) Freshness: 4 stars Ambience: 3 stars (wife gets a fish-market headache on entry) Service: 4 stars.

A serial problem in the Marinepolis chain seems to be staffing. Perhaps the problem is that they only pay minimum wage, and so the staff are usually local high school students who need a first job. I know you're not paying much, but does that mean dirty dishes are okay? I'm afraid not. The previous Yelper Sam P was right - if you want dirt cheap sushi and you're on the Eastside, just go to the Redmond location. Oh, and lets not even talk about the dire parking situation at this Bellevue location.

    (2)
  • Coma T.

Parking may be a bit of a problem here, but otherwise considering the price of the sushi plates the quality is good. Service is always pretty basic. Good amount of food for the price!

Well I was treated to Sushi land about a year ago by my great friend J Ling! He took me to the Seattle location where his friend works. This was after I tried a local sushi place in Renton. The chef's at the seattle location are the best. They say hello when you walk in and goodbye when you leave. They are also very accommodating to the patrons. The Southcenter location is good quality but the chef's are mostly mexican. I'm not saying that they can't work there, I'm saying that I want to feel the experience when I go there. So say hello and goodbye and be more interactive. I mean, anyone can be taught to put a sushi roll together, shoot there is a machine that makes the rice balls for the maki! Both places are good and I think you get more for the money. They are clean and have a friendly staff. If you are a beginner then I suggest the cali rolls and the calamari!! Get the spicy mayo and that makes everything zippier!! Overall these places are very commercial and you can tell. But the food is good for the price.

  • Angie B.

The few rolls I had were fine, but service was lacking. I mean really, all you have to do is bring water & get me going on my way when I'm ready to pay. It nearly took me as long to eat my meal as it did to stand & wait for the check-out guy to run my credit card. The sushi didn't look good enough to grab off the conveyor. Some regulars ordered directly from the chefs, so maybe I would try that another time. Basically I haven't had sushi in a long time & this provided a temporary sushi fix. But I need me some GOOD SUSHI soon!! (listen up DH, date night, hint hint)

I love conveyor belt sushi, perhaps as part of a bit of natural indecisiveness or mild ADD. Either way Sushi Land is great.Of course I've had better rolls elsewhere. But thats not the point. I can go here for lunch or dinner spend around $10, and leave stuffed full of tasty sushi of my own random and off the cuff selection. Come here, get a Sapporo or two or six. try the house special roll and if you have to, push someone out of the way, or ask nicely, to try the eel tempura roll, its fantastic.

  • Annie A.

Okay, there is much higher-quality sushi available out there. So why 5 stars instead of 4? Because for the combined value (quality AND price), you will NOT find better sushi at a better price anywhere that I've seen. This goes for the Seattle location as well, btw. REASONS TO TRY IT IF YOU HAVEN'T: 1) Sushi land is fun. The conveyer belt is an awesome novelty that makes the meal that much more interesting. I would totally bring out-of-towners here just for the experience. 2) Sushi land is reasonably priced. Think Blue C Sushi, minus a buck or two (at least) per plate. And, in my opinion, a better (less commercialized, better selection plus your standard favorites) selection. 3) Sushi land is tasty! There is a conveyer belt sushi place Capitol Hill (on Broadway) that is a shame. They even have a hotdog roll. A HOTDOG ROLL, people! I think this is what people tend to expect with conveyer belt sushi places -- low price = low quality. Sushi land far exceeds that stereotype and puts the rest to shame quality-wise. 4) Sushi land is popular. There is usually a waiting list (which is a good thing. Who wants to eat at a deserted restaurant?) but I've never had to wait more than ten minutes, even during a lunch rush. 5) What's not to like about a LAND of sushi? =) And they always have cool special rolls. P.S. Their calamari is uh-maw-zing.

  • David X.

Sushi Land is probably the sushi place my friends and I most often come to because it's close by and is very cheap relative to other sushi restaurants. And it stands to be cheap because it's a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. There is generally a 10-20 minute wait for dinner. They also only have a few booths so if you have more than 4 people and have to sit around the conveyor belt instead of a booth, it makes conversation difficult. The waiters are mostly high school students who are paid minimum wage so you'd think they could hire more but apparently not because Sushi Land can be understaffed at times. I wouldn't say the service is horrible, but don't expect much. The food is broken down based on the color of the plate, with each color a separate price. Whenever I come here I usually stuff myself with $1 green plates and $1.50 orange plates. The nigiri and rolls are around average in quality (or maybe slightly above average depending on how fresh it is on that day) but you can't really argue with the price. If you come here often, you find the variety is a little bit lacking, as you'll be getting the same items over and over. But if you're looking for a cheap sushi place with at least average food, Sushi Land is an excellent place to go to.

Yuck! do I have to give this place any stars? I will admit the restaurant was packed at lunch time, but! The staff was rude, the place was dirty, the food was simple and not good. I don't want to go back

  • Muriel M.

I love Sushiland. I've been a frequent customer of their Bellevue location since 2001 or so, and I love that they've NEVER RAISED THEIR PRICES! Plates range from $1-$3, and what you see is what you get. A few things that I can *only* get at Sushiland because nobody else (*ahem* Blue C or Genki) can get it right: seared salmon for $1.50, crab salad for $1.00, and their house special roll for $1.00. I wouldn't say it's the best quality sushi I've ever had, but again, you can't go wrong for the cheap prices you pay.

  • Jay L.

By far, the best kaiten sushi in NW. Forget Blue-C owned by people who "spent some time" in Japan, but never really studied Japanese cuisine. Forget those joints owned by Koreans that serve previously frozen side dish items like pot stickers. Marin polis always "maintains" its quality, in my 15 years of visiting their locations in NW

Beware Sushi-Seekers of Bellevue: Sushi Land is not as good as it once was. I used to come here with East Side friends back before I had a job near it. The sushi was never what I would call excellent, but was at least pretty decent for the super-cheap conveyor belt prices. However, I revisited this location when I started working here and it's NO GOOD. The sushi never looks fresh, is sometimes downright mangled, and the people preparing it don't particularly look like they know what they're doing - in fact, it resembles more of an assembly-line than anything. Even for $1-$3.50 a plate, it's just not worth it. If you're in Bellevue and craving sushi but don't have much cash, head over to Sushi Yama instead.

Sushi Land in Bellevue is -- how to say it best -- kind of like an Asian version of your favorite greasy spoon diner. Its not fancy, its not terribly organized and the service is spotty at best. BUT, I still really love this place. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It is truly authentic, one of a kind restaurant, serving very inexpensive, but very tasty sushi comfort food. The main thing is, it is almost always very busy. So you have to speak up and ask for what you want if you don't see it. If you want the most variety, don't go in the last hour of the day (8 - 9 pm) because they don't refresh the items removed from the belt -- you have to special-request what you want. The food is really good and very inexpensive. I usually leave with a bill under $10, occasionally a bit more if I was very hungry. Bottom line: Atmosphere, Service: C Food Quality: B+ Price: A

I'm not a sushi connoisseur. I prefer the American/Hawaiian infused varieties. So needless to say, this isn't that type of sushi place. Service was friendly. Atmosphere was lacking. I simply find my food rotating around for who knows how long with who knows who touching it to be unappetizing. I ate a few pieces of the smoked salmon roll. The salmon was great but it was lacking in quantity as was the avocado and cream cheese.

Not the best. Prices are good but limited selection and no labels on the items.. they will take custom orders though... and its HELLA CHEAP! Worth a look.

Very cheap, and sushi doesn't taste bad at all. What pissed me off though is that they ran out of salmon. Wah. :'( Lovin' the conveyor belt though.

Best conveyor belt sushi I've found. Dominates Blue C. Plate prices have remained the same forever, quality is remarkably good on many of the items, and special order items are also reasonable and plentiful. My wife and I just had what seemed like a large(r) lunch and it was $10 each. Great deal for good sushi.

    (4)
  • Judy K.

Whenever I crave cheap sushi, this place really hits the spot. In my opinion, this is probably the best conveyor belt sushi spot for the price you pay. The service can be a bit spotty sometimes especially during the busier times, but whatever. Seating is limited and they only let you sit at the booths if you have a larger party. I recommend trying the creamy scallop and seared salmon here.

  • Ed M.

Forget the service... it's a McDonald's of Sushi in Bellevue... But when you really crave for some plates of 'fast-food' sushi... this is the place you want to try... if you have about 20-30 mins to wait to be seated.(especially during the busy hours) Their House Rolls are actually good for the price of $1.

Want fancy, high-end, beautifully arranged, delectable sushi? Go somewhere else. Want servers constantly asking if you need anything? Go somewhere else. Want decent, tasty belt (kaiten) sushi at very reasonable prices and aren't afraid to aggressively wave down a waiter/waitress if you need something? Give it a try! Basically it's a cheap diner for the Bellevue working crowd (and the local teenagers around 3 PM when school lets out), and cheap diners are my favorite kinds of restaurants. I typically eat lunch here at least one day a week. Avoid the lunch rush from 11:30 to about 1:00 or else you'll be waiting 15+ minutes for a seat.

  • Alice L.

I usually go to the Sushiland in Queen Anne but I was in the area, will never go back. Walked in, no greetings, had to seat ourselves (maybe this is different from other sushilands?). The sushi was slightly better than the one in Queen Anne but the service was not. We had to stop a waiter to ask for water and my water cup had a piece of ginger in it. The ginger is what makes me not want to go back, I find dirty dishes to be completely inexcusable.

  • Alexander Z.

Before they opened the Seattle Center location, this was my only reason to go to Bellevue. Our favorite kaiten sushi restaurant... Sorry, Blue C - you're prices are just too high otherwise you'd have a slight edge with offering hot foods in addition to sushi. Yes, there will be a wait. This place is small and popular. But you know what? When it comes to sushi (especially kaiten) you want it FRESH. If there aren't any other customers, nothing will be fresh. The more customers in the restaurant, the fresher your sushi is going to be. Somehow, though, Marinepolis manages to keep the sushi fairly fresh even on slow days. Why oh why can't you expand some locations in New England? :)

  • Krista U.

Sushi Land is cheap and it does its job of filling you up. The house rolls and seared salmon are my favorite things to eat here. But I would say everything else reflects the price you're paying. The interior has pretty much no atmosphere and it smells odd. Also, the old lady scares me a bit...

  • Yvonne C.

This is probably the best value sushi I've ever had. I'm a self proclaimed sushi snob, but I've gotta say Sushi Land has the best $1.50 Nigiri I've ever had. To be quite honest, I don't think I've seen $1.50 Nigiri anywhere else (and that's $1.50 for TWO pieces!) I was pleasantly surprised by Sushi Land when I went there today. The quality was decent and the price was unbeatable. The food is much better than Blue C Sushi and for about half the price. For sushi novices, their California roll was also $1.50 for 3-4 pieces and it tasted exactly the same as a California roll you'd pay 4 times more for. For sushi snobs...hey you can't afford to eat at Shiro's all the time....sometimes you just need a quick and cheap sushi fix =) You get what you pay for, so don't expect any sort of atmosphere or service (well the chefs are nice). Just go there for dirt cheap sushi. btw: you can order anything you want from the sushi chefs that you don't see on the conveyor belt (ie. spider rolls) and they'll make it for you.

Wow. I'm extremely surprised to find that Marinepolis Sushi Land had such mediocre reviews as it's a place that I will happily frequent as I've found the sushi to be better than good (for a kaitenzushi restaurant) and the prices to be extremely reasonable. Let me preface my review. I am a sushi purist. I don't like fruit in my sushi. I don't like my sushi fried. I don't need dairy products in my sushi. I like my sushi the way you would find it in Japan with good fish, well-seasoned quality sushi rice, and nori. This is why I'm always happy with going to Sushi Land because that's what I'm going to get. The Food: The food at Sushi Land is solid. Is all the fish great? No. Is it the top quality fish you'd find at trendy sushi bar in Seattle? No. What you will get is good (if not great) fish which I will happily eat any day of the week. Let me say this: there are certain things I know aren't going to be that good at Sushi Land, like maguro. The maguro for whatever reason is never good to me. With that said, there are several great items here I do like, like the seared salmon, the shrimp tenpura nigiri-zushi, and the calamari to name a few. I do have one complaint, however, that I'm sure no one else will care about; I wish they wouldn't fry their takoyaki (see - you don't care). ;) The Prices: Very reasonable for what you're getting. You have a bunch of items, most of which float under $2.00 per plate. There are a few for about $3.00, but I find I never really pull them off the conveyor belt. Atmosphere: This is where Sushi Land takes a bit of a hit. The atmosphere is usually pretty chaotic as the entire restaurant (excluding the kitchen) is in one rectangular room, which includes the waiting area as well. The acoustics of the room keep it pretty noisy. To avoid this, go at non-peak hours. Obviously, this makes it not a great place for a first date. Service: This is another category that Sushi Land falls a little short in, but I honestly don't feel that it's that big of deal as it's a conveyor belt sushi place. I think the bigger problem seems to be not that their unfriendly or unhelpful, but they're understaffed. Seeing as they are usually packed, this becomes a large problem. To me, again since it's a conveyor-belt sushi place, I'm not that bothered by this and it isn't really a huge factor in whether or not to go to Sushi Land. Overall: What is Sushi Land not? It's not an upscale, trendy, Japanese sushi bar. What is Sushi Land? A more than reasonable solution option to your sushi cravings that won't leave your wallet hurting.

As Sushi has becoming a trendy meal for many, and healthy eaters' choice of many, it becomes a little subjective to rate a Sushi restaurant. Sorry to say, but if you don't like raw fish....don't even think about Sushi, because you just end up with lots of rice and other non-fish stuff. The nice thing about Sushiland is the variety and its affordable price. You can have 2 pieces of salmon nigrli for only $1.50, or you can have 2 pieces of spider roll (softcrab roll) for $3.00, which the latter is the most expensive dish there. If you go during dinner time, try to get there before 6 to avoid the crowd, or be prepared to stand in line for at least 20 minutes. The quality of the food is pretty decent, especially considering the price and location (Bellevue). Give this place a try if you like sushi but don't want to spend $40 a meal per person. About $15 would give you all of the Sushi you want at this place for a meal.

This was the first belt sushi in Bellevue and I went all the time when I worked there. Now a days it become comfort food for me. There many more fancy places but it cheap and the sushi is not bad. Hey when ever I go there always a wait but it not very long.

This Sushi Land is much smaller than the newer South Center Mall(Tukwila) location! PROS: You are seated relatively close to the "sushi maker" and can get him to make you what you want (assuming it's on the menu) in a snap. The people next to us placed orders ever-so-often and the sushi maker made them with a smile on his face. CONS: 1) Not enough elbow room. I had to tuck my elbow into my rib cage and try to manuver the pieces (using chopsticks, of course) into my mouth. 2) For some reason, (even tho the place is smaller than Southcenter) the service is not as good. They only refilled our teas once and weren't really easy locate, except for when it was time to clear the dishes. Overall, good sushi for a good price + the fun of watching plates on a conveyor belt.

The original Sushi Land... Where I used to come here every weekend. Where I fell in love with sushi and became an addict. Where I knew the employees and they knew my order. When the remodeled hasn't occurred so you had to stand while you waited for your call. Where my friend knew an employee (an old fling) and she discounted our total meal to $5. Where my friends placed a dollar on the conveyor belt to see how long it would last before someone took it. Yep... this is where it all started.

Good sushi at very affordable prices. The sushi conveyor has plates ranging from 1.00 to 3.00 dollars (with 50 cent gaps). All of the plates in the 1.50$ and up range were very good, but the 1$ plates were mostly bland, so I would avoid those if I were you. This is a 4 star place for me because you get very good value for your money, so if you're in the mood for a quick and (relatively) cheap meal and like sushi, this is the place for you. That being said, there are places in the area that serve sushi that is out of the league of Marinepolis Sushi Land. The main difference is, of course, the price. Also the place itself is little short of seedy (nothing like white fluorescent to make you feel like you're in a sweatshop), so I wouldn't recommend this for a date or a special occasion. This is basically a come-eat-leave kind of place.

Yummy, reliable, cheap. This location generally has better service than the Queen Anne location. It's usually not as busy as well.

This used to be the GO-TO place for cheap good sushi belt. But their quality has dipped dramatically. And there's better options out there.

Medium-high quality sushi that's better than many of the sit down places you'll find in the area. Prices are cheap and it's very easy to get full on 14 pieces of sushi for under $20. The line can get long, so get there early. Don't go late because the quality sushi will be gone. I've read some of the other reviews giving low marks because of the confusing layout. This is a typical kaiten sushi restaurant that you'll see in Japan, where the motto is volume. If you see a seat, don't wait for the waitresses; go ahead and sit down. I do have to say that the non-sushi aspect of this place sucks. The tea/check waitresses are useless. They shuffle everywhere but achieve nothing. They should just put the drinks on a table and let that be self-serve (which is what they do in Japan).

No. No. No. No. NO! Honestly, I have been a patron of this Sushi Land branch several times (because I am always trying to look for the good in people/places). The majority have been horrid experiences. If I could, this place wouldn't even get one star. Even for a Sushi Land, the food is sub-par. Also, the service is terrible. The people are disrespectful, negligent and act like little -CENSORED-. My sister and I ordered seared salmon and waited 15 minutes. By the time the employees were serving our dishes, the salmon went to another customer. When we finally received the orders, the food was cold and the server gave us some lip service. Not exactly the kind of service we wanted. I would understand his rude behavior could be accounted for many reasons, however: 1. We never did anything to him. 2. This wasn't the first time he was a jerk. 3. You don't get upset with someone who says "Thank you" politely. Don't go here. There are better places.

    (1)
  • Meagan W.

I have been coming here for about 5 years... it was really great at the beginning, but has declined in freshness. Also, the restaurant could use a little cleaning. The prices are good, and it is still decent sushi.

What you need to know... or wonder: 1. Always packed. Be ready to sit/stand and watch people eat for a good half hour or so. 2. Ever heard of CLEANING the place every once in a while? The floors itself looked grimey... and the bathroom... don't go anywhere near it. Yuck. 3. The service sucks... they're getting paid to mingle/flirt/tickle each other throughout their workday. 4. You would think that hitting on customers is not allowed by employees, right? Short dude and posse who wrote a sign and posted on the cash register with, "Girl in middle, can I get your number?", stop hitting on my niece. She's 12, for crying out loud. Its not funny either, so you can tell your coworkers that really... it wasn't funny. 5. I asked for 2 drinks... and then added another one later. Didn't know if the waitress heard me the last time, so I asked again, "can we get another coke, also?" She responded, "I only have two hands!" No shit, sherlock! But you could have kindly told me you heard me the first time. OR... you can either grow another hand or learn to balance things on your head! (Really... I didn't expect her to bring it all at once, just wanted to make sure she heard me since she was walking away as I asked her for it. Was that response really necessary? Biyotch!) Sure, the place is cheap and all, but really... its not worth the wait or the poor service. Most of the sushi taste like rubber... the seaweed taste like plastic.

Glorious. Best fast-food style sushi for the price, hands down. I went the other day and had 5 plates...my total, with a 25% tip, came to less than $8. Seriously, folks...just go.

  • Shep G.

This is a fun and fast place to get some sushi and run... I've always enjoyed it and the prices have always been part of that fun. I can feed my whole family (5) for under $40 here...and they all get what they want! Even vegetarians like this... :) You can get in and out of here during lunch for under $10 and less than 1/2 hour.

Ive been on a conveyer belt sushi kick lately (who can complain about cheap sushi?). This place is pretty divey spot thats packed to the brim. Your first experience is the packed parking lot with crazy asian drivers trying to get in/out. Then you enter another packed waiting room. The lights of this place gives this place a hospital feel. After a good wait, you get seated and eat. The food is below par (even for conveyer belt) with the rolls being better than the raw pieces sinc ethe raw food had a fishy taste that sushi should not.

I come here almost every weekend, and the sushi is consistently wonderful! This has been my favorite kaiten sushi restaurant for a long time now. I've tried other kaiten sushi bars and this place blows all of the others away. Lots of seating, friendly faces, great service and plenty of it! I recommend the $1.50 calamari (very filling), $1 house special rolls (3 per plate!) $1 miso soup (hot and pleasing), takoyaki (squid dumplings) and their $1 crab sticks! But really, it's hard to find anything unsatisfying there, and you can't beat the price! Plenty of variety. Most dishes cost only $1-2, with only a few at $3. It tastes just as good as a lot of fancier, overpriced sushi restaurants I've been to. You'll leave with your belly stuffed and happy for about $8-12. I love the free parking! *** TIPS: If you're with a group of 4+ people, call ahead. If they're super busy, don't order everything off of the specials menu. You don't have to wait for your favorite dishes to come around on the belt, just grab any waitress and she'll take your orders fast! Instead of ordering the $2 spicy tuna rolls, order the $1.50 (regular) tuna rolls and ask them to put some of their orange-colored spicy sauce on the side. Try the sweet sauce on some of your rolls. Mix some wasabi and/or ginger into your soy sauce for a little added flavor.

You get what you pay for rings true at this place. On the upside, you don't have to pay that much. It's always super packed at lunch, probably because there aren't many inexpensive dining options in downtown Bellevue that aren't fast food.

    (2)
  • Gavin N.

Sushi Connosieurs disgust me. You don't always have to pay $10 for two decent pieces of sushi, and $3 for two pieces of sushi won't always give you crap either. As i wrote in my review about Nishino..I visit Japan about twice a year, and lived in Guam for a large majority (many japanese restaurants that are quite good there give how close Guam is to Japan and how many Japanese tourists we got each year). Anyway so i have a decent idea what good sushi is, and how much certain quality should cost. First off..of course given Marinepolis' cost..you aren't going to get the grade A sushi you get at the $30-80 per person places. And given that..the decor isn't the most pleasant either. But it won't have you worrying that a) someone is spitting in your food and/or b) rats or whatever are in your food either..it's still a clean establishment. There's a reason why you see plenty more asians in Sushi Land and plenty of Gaijin at rip off japanese places (usually run by chinese and/or korean owners). It's because we understand the value concept. I can't give Sushi land 5 stars, because yes, the place isn't the nicest looking place, service is mediocre (but hey..at least you can save that much more money on your tip), besides..they have always been very friendly and usually quite quick with things. Just not on their hands and knees begging for that 15-20% tip from you. The parking..although available, is relatively cramped. But that aside, the sushi is a decent quality, there is a wide variety of items on the menu. but most importantly..the price is right..and very very reasonable. If i were to compare sushi land to Blue C sushi at University Village..I would say..yes Blue C has better quality sushi, but given how little the quality difference is, the wait time, and price difference. Sushi Land over Blue C any day. Overall..as some others said..if you just want a quick sushi fix, and don't want to go broke doing it..nothing wrong with Sushi Land..you can't walk in calling it "crap-en"..when you're only paying $1-3 a plate..it's like watching "snakes on a plane" and then complaining how the movie will never win an oscar...well duh. Anyway I do recommend Sushi Land..and give it four stars for it's overall value. yes you can find cheaper sushi, and you can also find better quality sushi and nice establishments...but the cheaper places have horrible sushi (aka 7-11) and the better quality sushi prices are probably about 7x more expensive...hard to justify. ~G

Yeah, reviewers are right. This location just doesn't have enough seating, and the service lacks a bit, but I think the food itself is excellent, and it's priced nice and cheap! I especially enjoy their salmon and scallops, yum. Absolute favorites. If you're looking for an upscale, trendy, snarky and expensive sushi place, this isn't it. If, however, you're a fan of cheap, delicious sushi, I suggest you give it a try or five.

The whole conveyor belt thing is such a weird experience. So another place I had been to, can't remember the name, the plates had a sensor so the restaurant knew when to yank old sushi. Sushiland didn't. But I can't be a snob when the guys making my sushi are Latinos and my nephew speaks fluent Spanish. Gotta love nephew night. The service was prompt as many others have expressed. The food was okay. Let's be real, this Tokyo or Kyoto or LA. This is Bellevue.

Probably one of my favorite SUSHI locations. If you want cheap, yet quality sushi: THIS is the place. Conveyor belt sushi is such an exciting experience. Recommendations: Seared Salmon. I can live off of this dish Spider roll: Randomly probably my favorite place to get spider roll Scallop roll: Yum. enough said Service is prompt its like a true asian restaurant in which you just flag down the server // chef to let them know what you want. Thats exactly the way i would have it. Restaurant recommended

The seared salmon keeps me coming back. The place is really busy and crammed but the chefs are very friendly and make your special orders quickly. Sushiland has a nice assortment running on the belt at all times.

I like the Redmond location better. Wow, that sounds insane, but it's true. The Redmond outpost has ample parking, actual WINDOWS, making it less crack house-esque, no bad rap music, and fewer sad people. My friends attempted the 30 Plate Challenge. If you eat 30 plates, your food is free. I watched three grown men become progressively ill over the course of two hours. It was fantastic. I've been here several times (just not recently), and I think the quality has plummeted. Everything raw looked sketchy as HELL. One of the challengers refused to eat anything raw, and I agreed with his strategy. At one point, he got up and went to the parking lot, for fear of vomiting (I think he was at 15 plates at that point, and if you're eating California rolls, that is a shitload of rice and krab). I had only four plates--I wasn't that hungry--and the food wasn't appetizing in the least. Calamari (just OK), a huge cream puff (weird, but it was pastry, so what the hell), tempura nigiri (I just wanted the tempura), and something else that I can't remember now. The best part was the cream puff thing. It didn't come with a fork, and I couldn't imagine using CHOPSTICKS on a CREAM PUFF, so I asked for a fork. One of the giant Asian guys (? I know) grunted "...yeah" and came back with a plastic fork. He threw it at the cream puff, like a DART. It was awesome. The pinnacle of fine dining. My bill came to $8.50, I think, so yes, it's dirt cheap. But it's just not worth getting sick over, and I just felt violated by this place. Shady.

It's good. It's fast and you get what you pay for. It's not a date spot and it's not a restaurant. Its Kaitenzushi, cheap, Japanese style. Try to avoid rush hours since the place is always busy. Only go if you've tried sushi before. Not the place to start people since it's not always the best quality.

How does this place not have 4 plus stars as the overall review? serious? I love this place and go here all the time. Its reallly busy for a reason, good sushi, excellent service. U go in and just sign ur name in, usually about 10 to 15 min wait i'd say. Somedays waits can be longer. This is not uber fancy expensive place so dont expect it! Its really delish afforable sushi... I love the Seared Salmon and the handrolls that u need to order.... they will make sushi however u want it which is nice. I love the peeps that work there! SO friendly :)

  • Alex S.

What more is there to say? It's no-frills, quick, cheap sushi. I only wish it was in a more convenient location (say....closer to work or home) and that there was more seating. Guaranteed to see me here after every payday!

  • Erin K.

I went with a veteran, and have been to conveyor-belt sushi places before, so I had no problems. It took a while for beverages and soy sauce dishes but it was very busy. There was a lot of fresh sushi, but it was just okay except for the house roll which was very good. Super cheap, which was the best part about this place. For the cost of one roll at my favorite sushi places, two of us ate dinner and had beverages.

Inexpensive, decent sushi. Fun taking the kids there without breaking the bank. I like the funky atmosphere and the central location to Bellevue.

Oh Marinepolis, you actually used to be decent sushi for a low price several years ago. My oh my have you changed. My last visit to your institution left me bewildered and mildly nauseas. We had to go to Taco Time afterwards to get the taste out of our mouths and fill ourselves up. Once upon a time you were respectable: delicious enough that I thought it was a bargain. Not anymore...

  • Fumi S.

It's cheap and it's good for a conveyor belt type sushi restaurant. If you ask, they'll make you sushi pieces that are not on the menu, like hamachi, ikura, and kazunoko. It's always crowded, especially lunch time. But, it you don't mind waiting about 20 - 30 minutes to be seated, this is the restaurant to eat cheap and good sushi.

Come and get it folks, sushi at bargain basement prices! Step right up to waiting forty minutes for mediocre sushi in a cramped atmosphere. The same items seemed to be going around and around, and I didn't feel like the art of sushi making is put to any use here. Yes, it's cheap, but that's not really a good thing in sushi.

    (2)

Cheap, good sushi, it's definitely a place I like to go. I've never had anything bad here, all the options I've tried are pretty good, especially for $1-3.

I've been to a few of the Sushi go rounds and Marinepolis Sushi Land in Bellevue is the best. If you go at lunchtime you may have to wait 10 to 25 minutes to be seated on short stools. Since they are so packed at lunchtime the food is fresh and they have specials that are not on the menu. We had a great lunch for $22.00 for two people.

    (4)
  • Mary B.

I went here with friends for lunch, and it was perfection. We aren't experts on sushi quality and we don't care about the duct tape on the booth seats. We all agreed that the sushi was absolutely delicious and very cheap. I have a very sensitive stomach, so some of the bad reviews scared me at first, but I did have raw fish and I had no problems. The service was mediocre, and if we hadn't arrived two minutes after opening, getting a booth would've been difficult. Overall, you definitely get what you paid for, possibly more.

    (3)
  • JP P.

Very affordable for college student. Sushi wasn't that great but the plates were very cheap..... I really liked the Tempura Shrimp Roll... for 3 dollars a plate, you get 4 big pieces and delicious. The service is very poor, but what do u expect from cheap sushi bar?

    (3)
  • Mo B.

Overall good value. We used to go atleast once a week when I worked in Bellevue. Quality is decent, especially for the price. You just have to make sure to go when they have a good volume of people so the food is constantly being refreshed.

Cheap, inexpensive sushi when you need a fix! The best prices for turntable sushi in the Seattle area. I like Bellevue's location best, followed by the Southcenter one, then Queen Anne.

Its not your upscale sushi house where everything costs an arm and a leg. I'll admit that having sushi is not an expensive choice and I know what its like to go to a place that serves immaculate sushi, but when you want something that is quick, reasonably priced, and good (to say the least) then this is the place to go. if you watch them prepare the sushi - you know what is fresh. The same cannot be said for what is going around on the conveyor belt but i'm sure its not thier goal to serve nasty, old fish.. With the traffic that they do have I am sure that there is enough being taken out so that the stuff remains fresh.. I would recommend this place.

You get what you pay for....and if you want to feed your sushi craving in an inexpensive way, this is just the place! Not to be compared with a sit down restaurant, this place serves it's purpose when I'm in the mood to get a quick sushi fix for lunch or to take the fam to get a quick dinner.

Like many other reviewers - I agree, the lines during rush times can be long and frustrating. The service of the hostess sucks. Don't go in there dreaming of a refill on your water! However, if you are interested in good sushi and lots of it at a great price, you are in the right place. The chef's are great. Funny, hard working, and willing to make pretty much anything for you. Once you are seated, you are "in". Highly recommended.

I like the other sushilands more than this location. It's sort of crammed and...I dont want to say it's DIRTY, but it doesn't seem as STERILE as the other locations. It gets really busy at this location, so the wait can be up to 30 minutes, and you have to wait awhile to get the attention from servers. I also feel like I get ogled at by the sushi-makers...maybe its not completely relevant, but I always feel self-conscious by their stares. It's ok that the Bellevue Sushiland let me down though, because I have Sushiyama to turn to, which is only a few streets away from this Sushiland.

  • Charles M.

I frequent Sushi Land because I like how fresh their items are. I've been to quite a few conveyor sushi restaurants and trust me, if there's only a few plates on the belt, it's only because it's their down time and guess what, you can order the food fresh from them. I get a little irritated reading reviews from people who don't understand this.

    (3)
  • Freedy H.

I must have pulled 8 different plates off the conveyor belt and taken only one bite of each. I really tried to like this place, which is why i kept pulling plates and trying and trying. It just didn't work. The quality of the fish seemed really poor...maybe not so fresh? I was in the mood for nigiri, so maybe that's where i went wrong... perhaps their rolls are better? Also, i was there during off hours (around 3pm), so maybe it's fresher if you go during the rush. On the bright side, i was very positive i would get sick afterwards but i didn't. An extra star for not causing bodily injury.

  • Sam S.

I thought the food was tasty. Sure the service wasn't fawning but what should be expected at an assembly line place. I could order some things off the menu with some effort. It is a bit crowded with some people hogging more than their space but the main thing is I came away with a nice after taste and not so much guilt in the pocketbook,

One word for you, blek. Not fresh sushi, got a stomach ache from it. Slow service. A more appropriate name would have been Sushi Diner. Don't waste you money there! Go to Ginko Sushi for equal price, or O Sushi for just plane better sushi. You'll be happier.

  • Miona H.

I like coming here for lunch to avoid that whole "how long has that been out there?" fear. I really enjoy going to any location as they are a) cheap and b) good. I mean c'mon -- it's a merry-go-round but with sushi instead of ponies. What's not to love?

  • Rob L.

SushiLand is located in an out of the way alleyway in downtown Bellevue but it's always packed. The atmospere is pretty sterile I must admit, but the place is fun, and the food is good and reasonably priced. Most of the seating is at the sushi bar and you pick the little plates that move around the conveyor belt. It seems pretty authentic to me based on my travels to Tokyo and by the number of Japanese clientele I see there. We love it!

    (4)

Updated review from me. This has been downgraded from a 4 to a 2 star review. The sushi is unadventurous and the fish isn't as fresh as it could be. I stopped by on Labor Day Monday, and was really dissapointed. The only thing saving this from a 1 star review is the fact that the place has been renovated with new paint and comfortable chairs. Skip this place and head down to Sushi Yama.

Yummy! This place is overall a great place to go. The best thing about it is the price (and the tempura roll). Usually sushi can be really expensive, but you can get away with lots of sushi for $12 or so bucks (my usual check). They have lots of sushi choices (although I'm not terribly adventurous and tend to stick to my faves). I recommend the California Roll and the Tempura Roll the most. Especially when dipped in the orange hot sauce, which you can ask the sushi chefs for. Since it's a great place, there can be a wait - but they usually get through people relatively quickly.

    (5)
  • Alice C.

So it's not the freshest nor can it even claim any close vicinity to gourmet... but ya can't beat the price!!!! When you just gotta have that quick sushi fix and it's only blocks from work, chances are, this will be a frequent default lunch spot :)

Sushi Land is a great place to have lunch. Every time I've gone, it's busy, but I haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes to get a seat. You eat around the "kitchen" and you can watch them prepare the Sushi. Most seats are stools, but there are a few booths for groups of 3 or more. The most exciting aspect of this restaurant is how you get your food. The sushi is placed on a conveyor belt, so when you see something you'd like, you simply grab it from the line. The best thing is... it's cheap. The prices range from $1-3 and you pay depending on the colors of plates you grab.

A seldom seen waitstaff and a limited selection makes this a hard place to recommend. The fish didn't feel fresh in the least.

I am not a huge fan of Sushiland. I like Sushi Yama that's located a few blocks away in downtown Bellevue. They both have sushi on the conveyor belt. But, I feel that Sushiland's sushi is not as fresh and the selection is very limited. Not to sound snobby, but if you want real sushi (for more money), you won't go to sushi places where they serve sushi on the conveyor belt.

This place is great! Nothing fancy. Just inexpensive, yummy, and fresh sushi. It is "belt" style sushi, so you get to just grab what you want as it goes by on the conveyor belt. I was stuffed and satisfied for under $15 (including a Sapporo beer). It is perfect for dining with family or friends when you don't want to pay for over priced sushi, as it often is.

Worst sushi ever. Fish never seems to be fresh and has a faint rotten fish smell. This place just gets worse and worse as the years go by. So many better choices in the Bellevue area for kaiten sushi, and no, I'm not even talking about Blue C which is a ripoff anyway. Stay away from here and try the other kaiten-sushis. If you're paying $1 for a plate of sushi odds are it's the lowest grade quality you're eating. Pass if you can. Don't let the cheap prices fool you into a trip to the emergency room.

2 years ago I feel like the salmon was way better then it is now. Also unless it is busy the fish seems be not nearly as fresh. I will still go because it is cheap, but only during busy times. It's too bad it isn't like it used to be.

Say what you want about the quality, I've paid twice this much for sushi, but nothing so far has matched sushi land for taste. I like the octopus dumplings, shrimp tempura, California rolls, creamy scallops, house rolls... I love this place

The BEST affordable sushi in town! PROs: * Cheap and delicious! If you're a baller on a budget, this place will get you your sushi fix, without denting your wallet. * The BEST spicy mayo! I kid you not, I've seen TONS of people ask for a plate full of spicy mayo, and not even bother with the soy sauce and wasabi. The spicy mayo really is THAT good. * Service is good. They will usually have a couple servers circling the restaurant, but if you want to make an order or get some spicy mayo on the fly, chime up and just ask the chefs. They are generally pretty quick. CONs: * Busy busy busy! You really need to get here at the right time. If you get here during a lunch or dinner rush, be prepared to wait! * Poor seating for groups. There are only TWO booths. All other seating is single seats around the conveyor belt. If you're planning to catch-up with a small group of friends, don't come here. You will either wait for an eternity for a booth to open up, or be forced to sit around the belt, and not be able to have a real group conversation. * The variety is nowhere near as large as other sushi places I the area. However keep in mind that the average person probably only eats the same3-4 things at any sushi place anyways. * Deep fried objects are sometimes soggy. Again timing is everything, sometimes things like deep fried shrimp or fish cake can go soggy if they have been sitting for awhile. If these items are your cup of tea, I recommend asking for fresh ones if you are unsure about what's on the belt. OTHER COMMENTS: * Quality of the fish is generally good but not amazing. * Parking can be difficult when busy. They have an extra lane of parking that bleeds into the neighboring apartment buildings parking lot. FAVORITES: Spicy Tuna Roll, Salmon Nigiri, Seared Salmon, Tofu Roll, Creamy Scallop, Unagi (eel) FINAL THOUGHTS: Why a 4 out of 5? Sushiland does the classics very well for a great price. I doubt you'll have the best sushi of your life here, but I'm confident you will go home content and full with plenty of money to spare.

The staff is horrible! They are so rude and so mean! The dont care about their customers at all. The sushi is OK. They keep making same sushi over and over again. Dirty outdated place! The only good thing is its cheap. Never coming back!

The place is always crackin'. I don't think I've ever been to sushi land when it was either quiet or empty. Clearly, it's because the sushi is cheap (by far, the cheapest conveyor belt sushi place I've been to) and super decent. I wouldn't recommend this place for those trying to wow a girl on the first date since its fluorescent lighting reminds me of an office space. Booth seating is limited and the alternative seating is to sit around the bar-esque conveyor belt, which I have found to be somewhat awkward when trying to have a deep conversation with a friend or sitting with a group of friends. Other than that, this is a great place for a casual lunch. You may have to wait to be seated if you're coming in around lunch time. Customer service is overall, very friendly. The waitresses are never rude, and make their rounds in good timing. The sushi makers behind the belt are always happy to take sushi orders. I might also have to complain about the parking lot. Peak hours where customers come in, the parking lot can be a mad house, especially in the cramped little lot... so be careful when you are parking. However, in all... cheap sushi= good.

Let me preface this by saying that I've been to this location numerous times as well as their locations in Queen Anne and Southcenter. For the most part, my visits have been good experiences with a few bland ones mixed in. But on 12/30, I had one terrible experience that could have ended poorly and violently. It's taken me this many weeks to complete this review because I really wanted to let the initial anger subside so as not to write a hate filled, expletive laden explosion about this place. So here goes... There was this older guy working there who I'd never seen there before in all my previous trips. The easiest description would be to say he was ethnically "white" or of "European" origin and probably in his late 40s or early 50s. Regardless of his age or whatever term you want to use to describe him physically, this guy was the epitome of someone who has no idea what customer service, personal space, managing a business, etc is all about. My wife and I are sitting eating our food and he asks us to slide over so you can squeeze another stool in between my wife and another customer?? Seriously?! There's literally about four inches of space between our chair and the next. But he was serious so we tell him that we're about to leave thinking he'd get the clue that his request is ridiculous. But he actually makes a motion as if he was actually going to put his hand on my wife's shoulder to make her move over...REALLY *%&#&#*!?! Before he can make physical contact, I immediately stand up and tell him to get our check so he can finally get it through his thick skull and understand that we are leaving and that he ought to keep his hands to himself. Originally, I thought this guy was just working part time because he got laid off from some office gig because the disconnect in his actions and what one might reasonably expect from someone in the food service industry was huge. But based on his rude correction of something the cashier said when my wife asked a question makes me think this guy was actually a manager. In that case, all I can say is WOW.... This guy deserves to be fired. Here's a lesson he might want to learn - when you have a packed restaurant and half the staff is busy making sushi for take out orders and not putting anything on the belt other than california rolls, edamame, calamari, and some overpriced blue fin tuna...you've got issues. Where's the rest of your menu? We had to ask for some salmon and ebi to be made so we could actually eat something resembling sushi. If the belt is properly load with a variety of options, customers can eat their fill and leave sooner. Then more people can be served and you can make more money. I still left a tip for the staff who are normally nice and friendly though the non-Japanese sushi chefs still can't properly portion their rolls as they are often uneven heights. Nonetheless, the useless and offensive actions of this one guy is enough that I won't return to Sushiland.

Stop hating, I get it, it's a conveyor belt sushi joint. But this one in particular is always busy and if you order what I am about to recommend, it'll make you want to go to a conveyor belt sushi place. - seared salmon - seared shrimp - shrimp tempura nigiri - spider roll - spicy albacore hand roll - spicy scallop - calamari :) done and done now enjoy, if you go around lunch or dinner time, be ready to wait for a while. I would say try to hit the lunch and dinner rush early

Here's the reason why Sushiland gets 5 stars. It's very simple: It's kaizen sushi, so treat it like kaizen sushi. Set your expectations to the level of what you expect from McDonalds for sushi and you can see why Sushiland deserves 5 stars. It makes no sense to compare Sushi Land to a more traditional sushi restaurant such as Sushi Kuine. They provide some of the largest pieces of fish compared to the surrounding comopetition. The rice is also some of the best made rice in comparison as well. It's not too hard, not too wet, it's perfect. That machine they have making the rice for the nigiri is fantastic. We have never had an issue with service. The chefs behind the counter have always been respectful and courteous to our orders. Accuracy has also never been much of an issue. If anything, we get one less of an order than we have asked for but that's no big deal. Waiters and waitresses although are inexperienced, you can tell they are trying. The management here has definitely a tight noose around the quality of service in terms of expectations. If there's one negative it's probably the decor and seating has NOT been updated for who knows how long. I'm pretty sure they have enough revenue to at least update the seats to something that at least decor-wise is more visually appealing. Seating is limited and if you go during rush hour you could be SOL but honestly, the same can be said about other sushi restaurants.

The original Sushiland. Now they have franchises all over town. I still remember when I first started eating here. I used to only eat at regular sushi restaurants so I didn't think much of conveyor belt sushi. Of course, when your sushi is not made to order and served right in front of you by a real chef it isn't going to be as good, but it's not going to cost that much either. Fast forward about 10 years and hundreds of meals here later, I've discovered that I haven't eaten at a real sushi bar for a long time, and I haven't missed it! One thing is that sushi prices have skyrocketed a lot over the past 10 years. I used to be able to stuff myself full on $20-$30 and that's including uni! And some of the small Japanese restaurants run by real Japanese owners have disappeared. Eating here is still hit and miss. Sometimes you get good sushi, sometimes not so good. My favorite thing some years back was to go at off hours so they didn't have much on the belt. I would then special order ones and they would make them fresh, ah that was real heaven. But nowadays, there's always people there at any hour so I don't special order that much. And pricing has stayed the same these 10 years. I think I can sum it up best by saying that this is the place I've eaten kaiten sushi 80% of the time over the past 10 years. The other Sushiland franchises are about the same, so you can go to any of them.

Dirty. Horrible service. Nothing but rolls when we went. Had to special order traditional sushi, and they were incensed at the request. Most ordered food never arrived. Neither did the check.

I used to come here a lot 8-10 years ago before I moved to California. I went back recently and was shocked the prices haven't changed. It's not a fancy place but I knew that going in so I got what I wanted for a great price. I didn't get sick but then again if it didn't' kill me years back when I went nearly every week, it shouldn't kill me now.

I'm quite disappointed. I've been a regular customer here since 2009 and come here on average of about once every two weeks. That's a lot of business over the course of 4 years!! Yet they don't seem to understand how to appreciate their customers, especially the regulars. The GM is always sour and in a bad mood. And I mean ALWAYS. Service has gone down the shit hole and nobody ever smiles or says hello or thank you anymore. Worse of all today they didn't even acknowledge me when I was trying to place an order. And two of my orders were less than acceptable. One had salmon that tasted like metal and the other was a spider roll with hair in it. I tried telling the general manager how things have been going down hill, but he gave me attitude about it. I told him none of his employees smile anymore. He told me "well sometimes it's hard to smile." Really ? That's your job as a manager. Anyways I've consistently received bad service from this place from the same people over the course of the past 6 months. Some of the new employees are very nice. It's a bit of a shame. After 4 years, I've decided I'm not doing business here anymore.

When I read the 5-star reviews for this place, I think "Has this person not tasted real sushi before?" The staff--yes they are friendly. Someone always talks to me about my day, which is appreciated since I'm usually stopping by for a quick solo dinner after work. I do come here a couple of times a month, but not because the food is good, more so because I am super lazy and live 5 feet away from it. If my hunger overshadows my laziness, then I'll walk those extra blocks to go to Sushi Maru instead. Yes, it is very cheap. But the quality of the fish is not the best--so you really do get what you pay for. The place is not really air conditioned, so sometimes it's a little warmer, and the fish has been sitting out, so it's warmer too. The workers are also a little sweaty and hot looking, which makes me cringe a little. On the other hand, there is almost no variety. You have to ask for anything to be made. I've seem mostly only tamago, salmon nigiri, philedelphia roll, shrimp tempura roll, and spicy tuna roll circling around. Once in a while there'll be edamame or stale calamari. The place also looks old and not very clean. It kind of freaks me out. I guess that's what I get for being lazy. I just try not to look around, because I feel like if I do, I'll just up and leave in an instant. Overall it's a good place for me to stop by at on the way home from work (I walk) if I'm terribly hungry, but I can't say I've ever actually gone with friends here and would mostly prefer to go to Sushi Maru for that kind of occasion.

I found this place works pretty good if are looking for a single seat. And if the $1.50 nigiri hits your spot (the salmon is usually good), then this makes for your casual sushi fix. The sushi chefs here work hard, you can shout out your special rolls and they get back to you as quick as they can. Sometimes if there is only one hostess on the floor, you might not get your green tea refilled at all as it happened to me yesterday. But who minds at their prices!

  • Ben C.

If you are looking for fast food style/ inexpensive sushi then go here. If you want just OK sushi then go here. The sushi here isn't great but it can get the job done for a cheap price. Lunch and dinner can get pretty busy here. I recommend going before the lunch and dinner rush that way you can get a seat. If you are only 3 people they typically sit you at the counter usually only 4 or more people they sit in the 3 booths they have. So as the Sushi goes round and round you will most likely see the same thing 3-4 times and at times you don't really see what you want. If you don't see what you want just ask the guys that are making the rolls. You can just order from them. Another good way to save a little bit of money and also avoid the rice, I believe if you just ask for Sashimi instead of the fish over the rice I think you save .50 cents. Which in the end adds up. Again not an amazing place, but when you are really hungry and just want a quick bite to eat this is a good stop.

So I took my grandmother to Sushi Land because we needed a quick bite in Bellevue. It was her first time eating at a kaiten-zushi joint. I could tell the little revolving plates were amusing her, and she was barely keeping her excitement in. Then a plate of chocolate covered cream puffs strolled by our booth. She couldn't hold it in anymore; she felt like a kid again. Hey, if food on conveyor belts makes my grandmother happy, it makes me happy. I was glad to discover they had takoyaki and sea urchin. Yum! After stuffing ourselves with cream puffs and sushi our hostess struck up a conversation with us. She commented on how young my grandma looked, and my grandma blushed. I don't think she has had a better time at a restaurant in years. Thanks, Sushi Land.

I would've never known this place if no one ever took me there. We went there and we were sort of confused with whether it was self seating because no one came to us after we were greeted upon walking in. We stood in line behind the people that were paying their bills and were seated by the sushi maker person. Great view because he was making Seared Salmon and other sushi stuff which was sort of entertaining. Something interesting is that he shaped the rice SINGLE HANDED! not by machine! He was also very nice and asked if we're doing ok and if we wanted anything. Honestly, the food is almost like any other sushi place except for these; seared salmon and calamari. I saw a review on "Seared Salmon". And you know what? Oohhh yea, that stuff looks really cool and it tasted pretty good. i didn't like the gassy smell but overall taste was very unique. And the calamari was well seasoned. The takoyaki, though, is sort of unexpected. It's fried instead of traditional stove way... Good price, really. BTW, do people usually leave tips for conveyer belt sushi places?

This is the best sushi place on the eastside if you are looking to spend less than $20. The prices are unbeatable and all the sushi is delicious. My personal favorites are the seared salmon, the eel and the super tempura roll (it is not actually on the menu you have to order it special). The only con is the wait. Because of the prices this place is usually pretty crowded around lunch and dinner. You will not be disappointed

I hope someone that works here reads these reviews! PLEASE clean your restaurant - it smells like ROTTEN FISH! All summer long, every Sunday when I pick up my take out for me and my coworkers , when I open the door, I almost vomit from the stench! Come on...... Also, I would never dream of eating here (there is more ambiance in the hospital cafeteria.......), please remodel. Your product is awesome for the most part (even though a lot of your specials lately have not been so good.....). I love your house special roll, spicy tuna and most of all you seared salmon (I dream of it....) Yes, I will be back for Sushi Sunday this weekend!

This is my favorite place for sushi! You usually have to wait a little bit to be seated because it's almost always busy (this is a good sign, it means the place is good). I love variety of sushi, also the calamari and edamomae. I've always experiences good service here. My favorite thing about Sushi Land is their conveyor belt and their AWESOME prices! I never end up spending more than $10 or $15. Everything always tastes good here and I can't wait to go back!

Used to really enjoy a quick lunch here. It was easy to get in and out with a meal under $10 in under 10 minutes. Unfortunately the last time I was there (just after the lunch hour) I left after waiting nearly 10 minutes for them to make more rolls. The selection was so sparse I couldn't believe it. I'll miss going here but sadly won't be back after all of my 2012 experiences have been disappointing.

I will say before I start the real review, it used to be decent way back before it got really popular. As of recent exposure, it's pretty damn bad. The only reason I give it a 2 is because I auto-bias against this type of sushi restaurant. The price seems good on paper but I'd much rather go to a real sushi place, eat less, pay more, and have a better experience. Quality here is quite bad, taste is naturally just as bad. Disclaimer: as i state, i am pretty experienced when it comes to asian style food and have a bias against rotating sushi.

2 words - SEARED SALMON!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rest of the items are not as good as other kaiten sushi places. For the cheap prices, they offer only pretty basic sushi, not many specialty rolls. The place offers no ambiance with florescent lights. Service was decent. However, we were both still craving for more seared salmon on our way out even after ordering 3 plates. The salmon is done so well with the perfect fish thickness, sauce and burnt flavor so it just melts in your mouth! When we return next time, we shall just order 6-7 plates of seared salmon! Keep on eating, diners!

  • Kaya W.

At Sushi Land you get what you pay for and unfortunately that's equal parts mayonnaise to fish (sometimes more mayo than fish) or the sushi is so covered in sauce you can't taste the (poor quality) fish.

Sushi Land - Best Conveyor Belt (Kaiten) Sushi in Seattle! #1 - Sushi Land * #2 - Sushi Maru #3 - Genki ** #4 - Blue C Sushi * the Bellevue location has FREE parking! ** look for their $1 sushi special PROS: Salmon nigiri (creamy like butter); $3 Uni (when they have it), Shrimp tempura nigiri (when it is fresh and hot) CONS: Seared Salmon has propane taste; For take-out sushi platters, sometimes substitute other sushi when they are out of Uni (without telling you); Can be crowded.

When I was younger I LOVED this place. I really liked how the food came right by me and i could pick it up myself. For what the place is the sushi is good. Compared to other sushi places, obviously not the best. The prices are decent (as far as i can remember). The prices are by plate and each plate has a different price. I suggest going for an early lunch or dinner. Even a late dinner or else you will be waiting in line for it. There are a few booths for groups but the point of this place is to sit next to the conveyor belt. If you are the booth you either have to order or the people closest to the belt have to get everyone's food. Not ideal. No complaints about this place, I just miss it terribly since i moved to Arizona. If you want to eat a lot this might not be the place for you because it will add up fast. I eat a lot myself and i think if i am super hungry it would cost me around 15-20 depending on what i got. If I'm going to just relax and have a bite then about 10 max.

This place is great. Sushi from one to three bucks. Cheap beer and sake. They're always busy so expect a short wait. Me and the wife ate all we coould and had a few beers/sakes and the total was less than forty bucks. If you don't see something you want- ask the sushi chef or the server and they'll whip it up for you. I've been to Blue C and Genki and Sushiland is the winner by far (they may not have the best sushi of the three but the price's can't be beat). Don't waste your money anywhere else if you're in the mood for hitting up the sushi train.

Pros: I use to work here about 4 years ago and it was always busy. This is definitely my favorite place to go for sushi. The sushi here is good, the price is cheap, the chef is actually Japanese, the way this place is set up is interesting, and the sushi challenge they have here is fun! Cons: Sometimes it's overly packed and it's also not the cleanest restaurant in the world but at least the kitchen was clean. Also while I was working here I ate sushi for free everyday and I got sick of it. -1 star! Overall I really like this place. I wish they had one here in SF.

I think this is as good as it gets with Conveyer-belt sushi. There are a couple things that I enjoy getting. The salmon roll, tuna roll, spicy tuna roll, and the calamari. Usually getting one of each, I feel relatively full. I like asking the chefs for stuff not on the conveyer-belt because that way I know that it's fresh, but it's nice to see all the different types of sushi that come roll around. I also feel like for the price, you really can't beat it here.

Ok, what do I say. I am pretty irritated with this place. We are good customers and go there for lunch mostly once a week. We never had experienced such a bad customer service. First of all, we had to wait for 30 minutes, which can happen when they are busy. The irritating fact was the party of 3 that came in way after us, claiming they had a reservation which they clearly had not and they were seated ahead of us. We knew that they did not have one, since non of the serves had a clue. We asked the server as to whetever we can make reservations the next time too and he didn't give us a clear answer. I don't even know if they take reservations? I am not able to make one in the Redmond Sushiland, so I doubt they officially do. The server just didn't know how to justify them getting right in and being seated within 5 minutes, whereas we already waited for nearly 30 at that time and others as well. The guy with his kids waiting next to us said, that they don't take reservations and he had the same thing happening to him a while ago too. So this seems to be a "who do I prefer to seat" kind of thing. And to put the cherry on top, we tried to order food for some time and the guy behind the counter just ignored us big time. My co-worker got really upset about this, she had to basically scream over the table to get his attention. He then gave her a miffed response and later checked us out at the register and didn't even apologize or ask us how our lunch was. Really? I think he is the manager here, which would explain why others don't care as much either about the customers. They are not in control about the time people take to eat their lunch, but they are in control about people that just come in and get "1st class" treatment and there is no excuse for bad customer service. A simple apology would have been all needed to smooth things over. I personally prefer the Redmond location, all the staff is super friendly and extremely efficient. I just hope they pick it up again and to be honest, the place needs a good clean and some new plates and cups for the water. Mine looked like a kid chewed on it and was disgusting.

No matter how many sushi bars I've been to, Sushiland is still a favorite. It's inexpensive, and yet, the taste of the fish or rolls is still consistently good. There are a variety of nigiri, variety of rolls, as well as side dishes and I can't say i was ever disappointed. Even when I was pregnant, and with the "okay" from my OB, I still had my sushi fix at least once or twice a month. Definitely a good sushi place to satisfy your cravings

I enjoyed some good old Mexican sushi at Sushiland. The portions are big. The fish are decent and the best of all; most of the sushi are still handmade instead of machine made like other sushi chains. Especially the rolls are pretty good sometimes. The Bellevue one are a little dirtier than other sushiland, but I haven't gotten sick yet, so I don't really mind. The quality is justified by the low price. I like the take out family combo once in awhile which is a pretty good deal. The specials a good sometimes too.

I love Sushi Land. The Bellevue location is the one that I go to the most, but the Redmond location is also really good. Great selection, great prices and a super sweet staff....just no frills. Perfect for a quick lunch. Try to avoid peak lunch hours.

  • Jon L.

Sure the location is the not ideal. The interior is somewhat small and it is located on a side street. I did not even know for several months that there was a Bellevue Sushiland location despite working two blocks from it. Still, what you expect from a restaurant part of this chain is met. You get decent sushi at a good price. While the quality is not on par with a top sushi bar, the sushi is tasty which is what I really care about. Often times, there is a wait especially at lunch when the worker crowd comes in. Parking is also limited. There are not a lot of other places you can park in Bellevue so you would be better off going to the Redmond location if transportation is an issue. For those not in the know, Sushiland serves conveyor-belt sushi. You take your food as it goes round and round before someone else gets it. If you do not see an item, make a request for it and the sushimaker will deliver it to you. It has happened many times before that I will wait for several minutes until I see something I like. In addition to sushi, other items including fruit, edamamme, fried squid and cream puffs are items put on the conveyor belt. Items like udon and miso soup do however have to ordered. Good bets for sushi include the house special, tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, eel nigiri, shrimp tempura roll and California roll. There also usually a special roll not on the regular menu that may be put on the conveyor belt. Sushiland also does takeout. If you are in a rush and the restaurant is full, order the items at cashier and you probably be better off. I have gotten my takeout orders relatively quickly as opposed to waiting for a seat to open up. In spite of its unfortuntate location, Sushiland is a worthwhile budget sushi restaurant.

Having known about Sushi Land for awhile, I feel like an idiot for not trying this place sooner. Seriously, Sushi Maru for all of its convenience just falls short to Sushi Land. The sushi is done better and the price is just as good as other sushi belts in the area. The nice thing that it is also quieter without the heavy traffic. If you cannot make a full meal of sushi or if you are trying appease someone who want other options, this may not be the best place to go. Well, what do you expect when it's called Sushi Land?

Best bang for your buck especially is you enjoy Saba sushi! Haven't raised their prices in 10 years. The spicy sauce is pretty good with some of the dollar dishes. Blue C Sushi in B square nearby charges 50% to 150% more. Highly recommend the Saba (Mackerel), Salmon and Hamachi.

I wouldn't feed this stuff to my dog, if I had one. Poor quality and little care in what they serve.

This is one of my favorite places ever! The sushi is cheap and good quality, and I love the conveyor belt style of eating. You can get what you want exactly when you want it without having to wait to order and have them make the food. The raw items are usually pretty fresh, and incredibly, only $2-3 per plate. Everyone else I've gone with likes raw sushi and also really likes this place. I personally don't eat raw sushi, but I love so many other things here, including the seaweed rolls, eel rolls, calamari, octopus balls, miso soup, etc. etc. The best part is that you can try everything that looks appetizing and still pay less than $20 per person. The service is really good also. If you ask the sushi chefs to make something special to order, they usually do so promptly, and they also make multiple plates for the conveyor belt, so you don't have to wait if you want another. The servers are very prompt with seating, drink orders, and giving you the check. Getting take-out here is also really convenient and quick. You can also just grab a take-out box and make your own take-out while you eat there. As for the decor, I was initially turned off by the warehouse appearance, but it's really grown on me, and the location in Bellevue is still my favorite even though it's quite a trek from where I currently live.

Oh sushi land, I have been to all their locations many times. I don't have a particular favorite, but this one is close to home. So Sushi Land is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, meaning sushi goes around on a belt passing each table, and you grab what you want from the belt. You can also custom order things. Pricing are indicated by the color plate it's on, and the waiter/waitress will count everything when you're done. They are pretty good at taking old sushi of the belt, at least better then others in Seattle. They have pretty good rolls, but the raw fish isn't the best quality. The salmon nigiri is the only nigiri i order here. I would also recommend ordering seared salmon (they usually don't make this unless it's custom ordered). They also have a mussel thing with house sauce that's good too. In short, not the best quality but its cheap and fast.

The sushi here is sub par and the plates look like they have been washed to many times. The sushi itself is not delicate In flavor and they love smothering everything in sauce which turns the sushi into balls of fat. this is one of the few sushi places where I've not really had much interest in anything on the conveyor. Cheap though.

  • Ana S.

Im giving it a five star rating because it does what it's supposed to do and for what it is it couldn't be better. The prices are extremely fair, the sushi is pretty good, the atmosphere is nice. I love going here with my boyfriend when we want a snack! It's not the best sushi I've ever had but it's certainly not bad at all!

  • Jenn N.

Alright, I will start with this: I am not a huge sushi snob and I love love salmon. I love this place because the salmon nigiri plate is 1.25! Considerable sized salmon too! So delicious. I can get really full on $15 :) I've tried Umi Sake House before, but honestly, I can't tell the difference on the sashimi... but to reiterate, read my first line. If you're looking for cheap eats and have a sushi craving, this is the place to go.

I use to come here over the past couple years. Each time I come back the quality is worse. Employees seem overworked, untrained and underpaid. I maker better sushi myself, seriously. Their cuts of fish are not sushi grade. 2 stars, and that's being generous

    (2)
  • Carl H.

What you would expect from a conveyor belt chain, but you still come back for more because this place is definitely a little better than all the other places around here. I prefer this place because the staff is actually nice and helpful, the value for the food is unreal, and you don't have to wait at all to get what you want. Only a 4 star because I got food poisoning from their oysters, so that's the only thing I would caution to others in case they were looking to try it. Other than that this place is amazing

Been coming here for years, sometimes hitting the place 2 -3 times per week. I agree with reviewers about the inexpensive prices as well as the incredibly poor upkeep of the place. There really is no excuse. But I have to blame management. They really work the folks behind the counter to the bone and are so intent on squeezing every last penny from a plate of sushi, they refuse to put any money back in the business to say - buy new plates? Hire someone to do a deep cleaning? So, yes. Come on in if you can avert your eyes from the filthy floor, stick to drinking hot tea (it'll kill whatever bacteria happens to swimming in the cup) and don't expect master knife skills from the obviously overworked undertrained counter guys.

Hidden Treasure! This is a fantastic little hole in the wall type sushi place. Extremely fresh, great prices! The only reason they don't get that fifth star is because I'm a Celiac (severe gluten allergy) and they have absolutely no idea about any allergy containing ingredients or cross contamination. They do have gluten free soy sauce however so that's a plus. I just stick with the Sashimi and Nagiri to be safe and it's excellent.

My favorite sushi place in Bellevue. For dinner they can get crowded and there aren't that many seats. The great prices and good sushi keep me coming back. My favorite things on the menu are So good roll, seared salmon and seared ebi.

  • Carl H.

Killer Yellowtail sashimi and try the seared Saba with lemon slices! Hand rolled spicy scallops are amazing too! Cheap fast eats! Been coming here for over a decade! Do it. Carl's wrap-up: *Fast! In and out! *CDFS (Cheap Date For Sura!) *Consistent quality *Good $1, $1.50, $2 plates *Easy parking *Great downtown Bellevue location

Okay, so this place is great. I have no shame. If you come here you're looking for sushi on a budget, so don't except anything fancy. But for what you're paying (my girlfriend and I stuffed ourselves full for about $20), the quality is surprising. Be discerning when you pick your rolls off the belt, as not all sushi is created equal. Just sit back, relax, and notice when the fresh stuff goes out. There seem to be a lot of reviewers on here that think you can expect gourmet sushi for $2 a roll. As far as places on the corner go, this one is definitely good enough to come back to.

One and two star ratings for conveyor belt sushi? Where do you think you are, a 5 star restaurant? Get real, people. If you want chef sushi, go PAY FOR IT. Don't go to a McSushi place and expect filet mignon. Ambiance? Say WHAT, you gotta be kidding. This is a feeding machine, nothing more. Service? If you have a service issue, take it up with yourself. It is simple. Reach up. Grab sushi. Uncover sushi. Eat sushi. Got it? Good. My tea cup was never empty (the one thing I required assistance with). Food quality? This is conveyor sushi folks. Eat it. Enjoy it. Get over it. We ate 30 plates for less than $45. Beats the HECK out of the greaseburgers at similar prices. Price? 30 plates, 3 people, $45. That is FAR more food at a FAR better price than almost any heart-attack-burger-joint. Want a romantic getaway? Don't come here. Want hand-made sushi creations? Don't come here. Want to be pampered and treated like a prince or princess? Don't come here. Want pretty good sushi at a REALLY good price? Sushi Land is your place!

LOVE THIS PLACE... There are so many different $1 plate options and it's right across the street from where I work. Win, win!!! I usually always get the same plates and a tempura udon... Super delicious and filling. My meals range from like $5 to $11 so it really depends on how hungry I am that day. But I definitely like how green tea is free and the service is pretty attentive most of the time. There seems to be enough parking for those who need it and although there is somewhat of a wait during the busy lunch rush hour... it's manageable and worth it. You can get in and out super quickly and leave satisfactorily full.

Plates were dirty. Tea was served with crab salad on the bottom. Sushi chef was not wearing hat, and his hair looked amazingly dirty, also kept staring at my girl friend. Never coming back here. Disgusting.

Cheap. Fast. Easy. These are the three tenets to Marinepolis. Everyone's right about the appearance, the decor, the chefs/servers, and the general attitude of the place. It never tries to be anything that it's not. You simply have a conveyor belt of goodies flowing past your table at any given time that you can pick from. We ordered off the menu pretty frequently as well and never waited more than a minute or two (save for the mussels which had to be put into the toaster oven). The seared salmon was recommended by a friend (as well as mentioned here on Yelp) and is indeed tasty. They lay out the salmon on and then take a propane blowtorch to it. Awesome. The quality of the sushi is not above average, I'd even say it's slightly on the lesser side of average. Don't come here if you want the best sushi. Come here if you want selection, cheap prices, and generally like the thought of sushi. Important distinction. Will come here again. I rated the price range based on what a typical meal for me would cost... so above $10.

I think this is best conveyer-belt sushi in the area. This place is hidden, but I am ok with that because its already crowded. The food moves fast, I think its the freshest and I had good uni here once. (Of course, I ordered directly from the cooks.) The seating here is pretty bare-bones, so leave your purses in the car.

If it was all up to this jerk of a manager/owner, this restaurant would completely fail due too horrible customer service and poor treatment of workers. The staff at Bellevue Sushi Land is AMAZING and so sweet, hospitable, and generous--I would give them 5 stars if I could, and separately rate their horrid owner/manager in the negatives. The staff is very quick and service is good and thorough. Unfortunately, their manager or owner (whatever this megalomaniac is) is a complete jerk (average looking Caucasian middle-aged guy with white hair and glasses). He is nearly abusive to his staff, and customers notice. I was there when a customer requested a specific dish (just the seaweed instead of the seaweed roll), and the guy actually pulled the cook aside and told him to just give the customer "this much" (very intensely gesturing a TINY amount) and to put it on a $2 plate. This guy made such a big deal out of it, and proceeded to lecture his staff in the back room, again, thinking customers didn't notice. As far as I'm concerned, this guy needs to start respecting his staff and stop abusing and being an ass. After all, the amazing workers are the ones running this place and making it a friendly and pleasant venue. They are the ones who provide the excellent service and good food.

Needs a good cleaning. the guy Manager is lazy. The japanese lady is very nice and hustles. It bad when you have 2-3 wait staff, and they are buzy. i cashier, 2 servers and 3 sushi makers and 1 cook, and no dish washer. The really need to take time to clean this place up.

Very fresh, the salmon nigiri is fantastic, melts in the mouth. Very fast service, great prices, tasty sushi. Ambience feels genuine and homely. Much better than the other stiff, pretentious places with the same quality at double the price.

I love the Sushi Land on Queen Anne, and I've given the Bellevue location more than enough chances.... I've gone in probably once a month or twice a month for the last 10 months or so, every single time there is a wait...even for one. And it's usually due to not turning over tables fast enough. Though..that was not the problem. I know that they always have a wait, and I only have 45mins for my lunch break. Instead, I call in a pick-up order. Simple right? They say it'll take 15mins, great! It takes me 10 to drive and I need to stop by the bank. I arrive 20mins later, wait in line to pick up and pay....and it's not ready. I ask if I could pay now (because the whole idea of picking up is that you get it fast, right?) and the gentleman is downright rude to me saying that he doesn't have the ticket and then stares blankly. Honestly, I've worked food service...I know people are jerks and rushes are tough....but that was the worst ever service. I smile and say 'ok' and sit down and wait. 35mins after I placed my initial order (which I was told would take 15mins), my order is ready, I wait in line again to pay and am on my way. Barely any time left of my lunch break, I get back to work, pop a piece of seared salmon in my mouth and look down to grab another piece and.....I see a hair on my sushi....and it's not the kind of hair that looks like it comes from your head...GROSS. Proceed to throw away the rest of the sushi and be disgusted the rest of the day. I really did try, but, that was the last straw. Terribly rude service AND a down-under hair on my sushi? No thanks

Affordable, quick and fresh. After shopping at Bellevue Square we decided we wanted a quick meal and remembered there was a Sushi Land nearby. We went in at 4:00 there were a couple groups but no wait which is always great, especially when you're hungry. The food was good, no fishy smell, definitely fresh and it did not taste like the food had been on the belt for hours. The place loses two stars because of two reasons. One is the sticky soy sauce bottles with caked on dry soy sauce running down the side. The other star was eaten because we got hungry watching the belt go around and around with the same 4-5 dishes. There wasn't very much variety on the belt and we ended up having to wait between plates to get one of the wait staff or chefs to order for us. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I am a fan but will be back.

This place sure has gone downhill. Hakujin manager is obviously disgruntled and couldn't care less about customers or staff. Place is dirty and staff, including manager, completely ignores customers. Special orders have to be requested 3-4 times before honored. Mexican waiter apologized and said manager always completely ignores customers and staff. Too bad. This place used to be good when it was run by Japanese staff.

A lunch bunch approved spot! My friends and I often frequent this place for really cheap but decent sushi. Some of my favorites are the seared salmon, takoyaki, fried calamari, California rolls, tuna roll, spicy tuna roll, wow this list could go on forever! If you don't see dishes on the belt you like the Sushi Chefs are more the willing to help you make what you desire. They even have specials of new rolls that they have invented and those are usually at a reduced price. Yum. This place can get pretty packed during lunch time, so if you're planning on coming make sure you're not dying of hungry and I hope you enjoy.

Went on Sunday and had one of the worst experiences in a long time. Ordered some tempura udon. We were close enough to see the guy making it. We saw that he did not change his gloves when he finished making sushi with raw fish. He proceeded to touch the udon with the same gloves that just touched raw fish. When he brought it over I questioned the chef why he did not change gloves when he touched the udon His reply kinda surprised me. He said " it's the same fish you have in front of you" with a freakin attitude. Then he ask in a " do you want it or not"? My dad got really upset at the guys attitude. He went to find the manager and wanted to speak to that person. Well he finds out that the person that made the udon was the manager Keith . He decided that he will call corporate and talk to them instead of speaking to him. We have eaten at the southcenter one often and have never been treated the way Bellevue treated us. Other than the manager, the rest food was ok and the rest of the staff was very nice. I hope the upper management at sushi land read this and does something about Keith the manager. We will never go back there again. They need to practice better sanitary procedures like changing gloves after touching raw food and moving to other food.

Probably my go to place when i want sushi and dont want to pay a ton. yes, its conveyer belt sushi, and yes its not the best. but hey, for their prices, they are better then genki and some other conveyer belt places. cant really complain. seared salmon always rocks my socks, and creamy scallop always hits the spot.

I visited Marinepolis Sushi Land during a visit to Bellevue for work. The food wasn't the best, but it was edible and somewhat tasty. I have to admit, I expected more from a sushi place in the middle of a dozen other sushi places. However, the price was much lower than the competition, so I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Joy S.

First time at this location (i am/was an old regular of the Queen Anne Sushiland before Genki stole my heart & mandibles), and it's just as busy- but in a smaller setting in an older, grungier building. That didn't bother me though, my dad was taking me to Sushiland! AKA...DISNEYLAND! We waited for almost 20 minutes, i think, but i stuck it out because they had uni, and at Sushiland, you get TWO pieces for $3. And while it might not be as tasty as Genki's, that's a buck cheaper for a pair of urchin goo! Ok, i am going to stop comparing this place to Genki. It's besides the point. They had my usual standbys, and a good variety of non-roll fishies going around to save me from having to grab the attention of the chefs. Nothing's that different here, except one thing came around the belt that i hadn't seen at a Sushiland before... Nigiri ikageso! Squid leg nigiri...like a cute, purple chewy choo-choo coming right towards my face! They were cranking these out like crazy. I wish i saw these everywhere. You can see my picture of it and order it next time, because it's not on their menu (it's about time they updated that thing with some new standard items). Oh, and i saw some crispy, broiled fish collars going around as a special, but we were too full. Service was really friendly. But i can't do more than 3 stars once i have been inside Genki, if i am comparing the two. Still, I could probably come to Sushiland every day and never get tired of it. *joy

This is my favorite place to go for a cheap, quick bite if I'm in the area! The price is good for what you're getting, definitely not overpriced unlike Blue C Sushi. I'd go here over there any day but then again, it's not the greatest sushi place which is why I rated it a 3/5!

This place is just ok. It's a Sushi Land so I don't expect much. The food quality is the same as any other SL location but this one is the worst in terms of ambiance/ appearance and overall experience. Service sucks; there's at any time only 1-2 waiters for the entire restaurant. Also, the owner is an @$$. I asked him for a certain dish and handed me a soggy one off the belt. Upon receipt I told him I wanted it made fresh, and he rolled his eyes at me. Real professional!

SUSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! I love me some good sushi. I think most people avoid conveyor belt sushi because the concept of sushi going round and round till someone takes it is repulsive. People think sushi should be served fresh, and made to order. I couldn't agree less, but have no fear. You can easily have fresh made rolls and enjoy them here at Sushi Land. My top advice to you if you come here is to come early! The place gets packed pretty quickly, but waits do not usually go on for more than 25 min. You can either sit at a booth or on stools. My other advice is to not expect a tip top fancy sushi joint. Sushi Land can easily pass as a hole in the wall. What I'm saying is, it's not the cleanest place, but you'll get over it eventually. Plates are charged by a color coded system, ranging from $1 to $3. I love watching the sushi chefs assemble my meal, right before my very eyes. It really adds to the whole experience. There is a nice variety of nigiri, rolls, and other Japanese favorites. If you're looking for miso soup, just ask for it. Tempura udon is also requested by customers. My favorite rolls here include spicy tuna roll, creamy scallop, and their house special roll with egg wrapped around the outside. I also love to get scallops nigiri, the size of it is pretty plentiful! Make sure to order a couple seared salmon nigiri when you come here. It's probably the best thing available! The salmon is topped with a squirt of mayonnaise and heated up with a blow torch. The fish melts in your mouth and there is nothing like it! As far as Japanese snacks go, get the calamari to share amongst a group. Edaname is a good choice too. If you have a sweet tooth, I suggest getting a plate of sesame balls. They'll satisfy your sweet tooth. Stay away from the xing ren tofu, it doesn't look too appetizing.

I own this place. Well, not really, but I've been to this place more times than the employees. This place is conveniently situated outside the back door to our office. I eat lunch here 2-3 times per week because it's fast and convenient. Now, we've all been to Blue C Sushi, this is not that place. It's the same concept, without the atmosphere, the high prices and better quality fish. Marineopolis is, in my opinion, the fast food of sushi. My favorite aspects of this place is #1, the price. Where else you can you get an order of seared salmon or albacore hot off the press for $1.50? Nowhere. Where else can you have your choice of a fresh salmon or tuna handroll for $2. Nowhere. The value here is over the top. And, when it comes to speed, this place is the quickest lunch in Bellevue. Pop in, grab a seat and you're eating in less than 1 minute. This is perfect for when I have errands to run during lunch but still want to grab a bite to eat. I can be in and out in 15 minutes. Now, if you're looking for a nice ambience, fancy art, low lighting and well dressed staff, you've come to the wrong place. Head down the street to Sushi Maru and bring your platinum card!

A Japanese friend and I have decided to conquer the Bellevue sushi scene, and now having visited over a dozen places, I still can't fine one that is as all around delicious as Sushi Land!!! I have been referring people there since my first bite 6 years ago and the quality hasn't changed in the least bit. Lets start with my grading system: first off the miso- tofu or not. Too much seaweed or none. Fried tofu on top or none. Sushi land is the miso soup we have come to rate others' off of. Next on the rating is the price. Second is the variety- just sushi or other entrees? Desserts? Lastly is the fun one: how much propane can you taste in the seared salmon? Sushi Land has the best miso and their bowls are a part of that. Sushi land is not over priced. Sushi land focuses on the sushi but also has delicious mango ice cream. I crave it nearly daily, and it is only $1.50 for a Coldstone Creamery love it size. And their seared salmon is the best. I took another friend here and he said all he tasted was propane (totally false). Then we went to iSushi and that same friend spit out their seared salmon which we had to ask the chef for. Delicious, inexpensive, quality (try the coho!!), the standard. And busy!!!! Get there early or don't try going if you have more than 2 people in your party. Keep it up!

No offense, but just don't.. You know something is wrong when you look at those prices and smell that smell. I can't decide whether McDonald's or this place is worse for my body. Reasoning: -Color of the fish (where.. did it come from?) -Taste of the mayonnaise in the California roll -Sort of off salmon taste -Taste of the ginger Pros: -Cheap & free parking Now, I wouldn't bash it if this was from my hometown (A land with only fried chicken and burgers) but here are some better belt places relatively close: -Sushi Mojo, SushiMe, heck I'd even blow a ridiculous amount of money at Blue C.

Other sushi restaurants were closed since it was Easter Sunday so we went here. Pros: Dirt cheap prices. If you're on a budget and love sushi, this is the place to go. Cons: It's quite a disorganized operation. We placed an order for about 5 things and after each thing I said, the waiter will yell to the sushi chefs. They didn't write down anything and as expected, 3 out of 5 things we ordered never showed or was not what we ordered. The waiters and the chefs need to work better together. The place doesn't look very clean which kills my appetite. If you are preparing food in public, you got to pay attention to presentation. Don't leave piles of raw fish lying around for 15 minutes. Change the gloves depending on what task you're doing. Even when we walked in we noticed a very big fish stench which you don't smell in other sushi places.

I go here at least 3 times a week. That is not an exaggeration. And I get that this is not fine cuisine, but let's be clear. It's conveyor belt sushi. It's like the fast food of sushi. So can you compare a Big Mac to a steak? No, you cannot. But it's still fucking delicious. And cheap. I always get: [$3.00] Beef Udon with no 'crunchies' (tempura flakes... I don't like when it gets all mushy in the soup. The adorable waitress calls it 'crunchies'.) [$1.50] Calamari (DIP IT IN SPICY MAYO. YOU'RE WELCOME.) [$1.00] Tofu tempura roll (It's delicious. And the cheapest plate.) [$1.50] Seared salmon or Salmon nigiri (They cut big pieces and it's FRESH) [$1.50] California rolls (DIP IT IN SPICY MAYO. YOU'RE WELCOME.) [FREE] Spicy Mayo (see calamari & cali rolls) If I'm feeling fancy: [$3.00] Spider Roll Let me reiterate... BEEF UDON. CALIMARI. SPICY MAYO. That is all.

Favorite Belt Sushi Restaurant! I've been to Japan and have had Sushi all over Asia. Let me remind You there is a difference between BELT (Fast Food) and REAL (Sit Down) Sushi. I have been to all the Belt Sushi Restaurants in Bellevue. I can say this is the overall winner. Parking: Good - Private lot Ambiance: Quick, Fast, Food and Busy - Go before or after the rush so you don't wait in line for a spot. Sushi: It's Fast, Good Deal and the pieces are bigger than all the other belt places. Pieces are more tasteful than other belt places but NOT as good as real Sushi sit downs. For example, Albacore tuna when fresh melts in your mouth with no veins, cool in temp and has a taste. Belt Sushi, you will just have to wish that its thawed right, not too warm, some taste but not fishy and/or no extra coloring was added. I guess you pay for what you get. It's Fast Food. Service: You got's to initiate to order other dishes, So if you are shy.. you will just have to eat from the belt. I will probably go there again when I'm craving for fast food. I heart Sushi!

  • Niles G.

In one word? Meh. In terms of the price, being a sushi belt place, this place is definitely cheap. They have a pretty large selection of both $1 and $1.50 rolls. To be fair, some of them aren't bad, for example the grilled salmon was pretty decent. The salmon was fresh and tasted as how it's supposed to taste. However, for many other dishes, the lack of quality does show through. While I never expected high quality, this place still fell short of the price vs. quality curve. The tempura dishes were cold and slightly soggy instead of crispy, and some of the rolls fell apart when you try to use your chopsticks on them. All in all, adjust your expectations accordingly when you walk in. You will be less likely to be disappointed

I am surprised many people rated generously. It's an OK place, nothing to be impressed with. I know we shouldn't expect quality when the price is very low, but I guess I expected a bit more than this. Some sushi was actually good - Spicy Tuna, Salmon & Spanish Mackeral was quite good. But Spicy Salmon was disgusting... and Gingers were very dry and sour. Shrimp Tempura was cold, dry and NOT crispy at all. It tasted like they just took frozen tempura out of freezer and microwaved it before serving. Udon was OK. I guess, if you pick only the right ones, then you will leave the bar happily. About service... Sushimen kept getting our orders wrong, and they even forgot one of our orders. They did NOT say "I'm sorry". When my coworker asked the sushiman, "excuse me, i have ordered salmon skin roll a while ago. Is it coming soon?", sushimen simply pointed out one of the dishes from the belt. lol He should have handed the dish to her, instead of pointing his fingers to the dish on the belt.. She was waiting for that roll for 10 minutes! I would probably go back for spicy tuna roll, when my pocket is thin. But I still wouldn't take someone there...

Tucked away in Bellevue, Sushi Land sits on a small lot of land with limited parking. It is busy during lunch offering up quick sushi along a conveyor belt that whips pass the expecting patrons. It is inexpensive sushi that is better then supermarket sushi. You won't get high quality sushi, but you aren't paying for high quality sushi either. It takes a bit to get seated around noon, but this is to be expected being surrounded by various businesses. Yes, there is better sushi, but you get what you pay for and for what you pay for this sushi is pretty tasty.

I have been here quite many times already and this place is packed almost all day long and which good because it means that this place is popular!! The reason that I decided to write the review for this place because I have been in this place so many times!!! and I want to start off with the interior decoration: Inside, the decoration is so-so nothing much interesting to see beside the sushi track :D as for the foods I liked it there were so many choices to choose and the service was really good as well, for example: when I ran low o the drink, the waitresses kept coming to me fill up the drink for me quite often without having to call them at all!! Now come to the critical part.........lately their fish has been quite not good, it was too chewy, rally easy to break like when I used to chopstick to pick up the nigiri and the meat started to split.........which is normally that shouldnt happen Second: When I looked at their preparation station, they seemed to be just trying to be fast maker and low on cleaning.............. Third: First off, I am the sushi chef as well and this one is really unacceptable for me, all of the sushi chefs who work at the Japanese Cuisine must automatically know that the hair net or the hair cover must be worn at all time. But everytime that I was there I was actually have never seen them wearing the hair net......... I was going to rate this place 2 stars I will rate this place 3 starts instead because of the service and the price!!

BUG in my sushi (see pic)!!!! SO GROSS!!! & this wasn't bug-alive-bc-just-landed-on-my-sushi either! It was DEAD on my sushi like it had been there forever. Maybe it was dried with the dried flakes that were on the sushi. I would like to be positive about this. But I can't. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could! Worst part: I was really discrete... I quietly called the sushi chef over, showed him my DEAD FLY. He said "oh.... SO SORRY!" Showed the OTHER sushi chef who had the same grossed out reaction: "oh... SO SORRY!" & that was it!!! Nothing. No attempt to make it right, meal was NOT comp'd! I PAID FOR BUGS IN MY SUSHI!!!! Where's the service recovery??? Where's the utter embarrassment that you put something THAT gross in front of ur customer?! Your sorry... I get it. ME TOO. I'm sorry... SORRY I had to see a dead bug in my meal. I've seen restaurants bend over backwards if there was so much as a complaint of over-cooked steak! Because that shows you care: you care about what you put in front of your customers & you care what they think & you want them to feel like YOU care. What did I leave feeling??? Like you don't care! Like finding a DEAD BUG in the sushi was like not having enough ice in your water... How could they just blow it off like that? I don't get it. That bug would prob not have made me sick- extra protein maybe? Prob not gastroenteritis. But that is straight up UNSANITARY. I'm just a customer that puts food quality first, price second... & it's a given that the food is sanitary. Sushi land, this was the most disgusting experience I have ever had at a restaurant. EVER. I won't be back. It's too gross. I'm sorry for such a bad review. But this was my experience & if I was a yelper reading this, I would want to know.

It's basically a cheap sushi joint. Perfect for people who want sushi and don't want to pay the premium price. It's not the best nor is it the worst.

I love going to this place. Price is reasonable and the staff is very friendly and kind. Love the California roll and the creamy scallop

Great place for value sushi. The seared salmon is great but you have to ask for it. Service quality can vary based on how busy it gets. They usually keep the belt stocked with food but you will start seeing the same things over and over. They also have this apple egg roll dessert which reminds me of old school Apple pies from McDonalds. Must try.

You just can't beat the price! After 10 plates the max I end up paying is about $12. Their cheapest plate is $1 and I love it. Staffs there are very nice. The place kind of looks like a whole in the wall ish but it's not dirty or anything. You can also order your own plates instead of taking the ones that are pre made from the rotation. Order their seared salmon! So goooood. I come here quite often to satisfy my sushi craving and I don't end up paying a lot for it. There is a free parking lot right in front and is limited.

If you are looking for sushi on the cheap, this is your place. I can be sort of a sushi snob so I was really apprehensive about trying this place but it was decent. I wouldn't call it the best sushi around - but if you're on a budget then this works. I recently had to put myself on a budget but really wanted to sushi so decided to give it a try. Overall - my impression was it meets what you would pay for. I spent $10 and received multiple plates and tried different things. The Nigiri wasn't the best as the fish didn't seem that good or fresh but their rolls are a lot better. I would recommend eating their rolls and my favorite was their "house special". I don't remember the exact name but it's only $1 and wrapped in a yellow color. I had more expensive rolls but thought this house special was way better. I decided to go on a Wednesday night after reading the reviews of the long wait time. Do not expect fast service - just go with lower expectations and you will not be upset at the service. There was little wait for a Wednesday but not sure if I would try on a Friday or Saturday. Lastly, it's one of the boat sushi type of places where you get to pick up the plate that has been moving around a conveyor belt of water-ish. There's only a few tables and the rest of the small restaurant sits in front of the conveyor belt. The majority of the plates have a cover so you don't have to worry about people touching or sneezing in the food. Overall, I would come back when I'm on a budget and not expecting much service. In general, this place gets 3 stars for decent sushi and low level of service. Nothing more; nothing less.

  • Jennifer J.

Fresh, delicious sushi at great prices. And anything you don't see on the belt you can special order directly from the sushi chef (and he's quick). Favorites are the seared salmon nigiri and hamachi. It cost us $45 for a party of four, and we were stuffed. Great deal! If only they had plum wine.

I've been coming to this location for years. It used to be my favorite place for yummy cheap sushi. However, I will not come back after my most recent experience. It was pretty disgusting. There was no variety on the conveyor belt. You can tell the sushi plates had been sitting there for far too long. Tempura was soggy; nigiri was warm. The fish tasted nasty. The worst of all, my sister got food poisoning. Though I heard the Queen Anne and Redmond locations are better.

  • Candice C.

This is a great place to get cheap sushi! I usually go here at least once a week for takeout. Please work on improving your customer service! I guess you get what you pay for.

  • Melissa S.

You can't beat the prices here. Hands down the best deal for sushi I've found. Depending in when you go, the selection can be thin, but it seemed like near the end of our lunch (1245), there were a lot more options going around the conveyer belt. The fish seemed fresh and the staff was easy to talk to if you needed anything. I especially liked the seared salmon and house roll.

  • Jeff C.

2-star atmosphere and service. 3-star sushi. 5-star prices= 3.3 star average. I'd almost give it 4 stars because of the value but I hate to risk leading people astray from their hoity toity places like Ginza (and at the same time making this place that much more crowded.) If you want even a moderately upscale atmosphere this place is NOT for you. If you want attentive service, this is NOT the place for you. You do NOT want to look closely around at your surrounding as you may lose your appetite. It's, hmm, shall I say a bit 'grungy' with a cheapo cafeteria feel. BUT, the sushi they serve is the same exact stuff that 90% of all the other places serving sushi serve but at half the price. Went on a Sunday afternoon last visit, selection on belt was very poor had to order Tuna, Mackerel, Scallop, etc. And even though they put my order in before a take out order coming in, I watched the cook choose to fill the take out order and make me wait 15 minutes for my order despite I was sitting in the restaurant. But with a little patience and polite assertiveness, you'll get everything you want at an incredibly low price. The only real criticism I have of this place is more than half the time the fish off the belt is almost room temperature, a little moreso than other conveyor places I've been too. And this is some of the popular stuff like Salmon, Tuna that doesn't get left out there that long so not that it's been sitting at room temperature for hours, but it's not a good feeling to eat room temperature raw fish. Maybe the temp on their fridges need to be turned down so the fish starts out colder? I've never gotten sick here and I've eaten here at least 15 times over 5 years. If you are a sushi addict and would rather take you and your kids out for a meal for $25+ bucks that is much healthier than taking them to McDonalds for about the same price or Red Robin for twice the price, then this is the place. It's always very busy so PLEASE, eat and then make room for the other addicts, don't linger. Does the fish taste good like all the other places? YES. Is it dirt cheap? YES. Keep your expectations in line with the prices and you'll be pleasantly satisfied. With a tad better service and belt selection, this place would probably get 4 stars in my book due to the great value.

By far my favorite sushi place in Bellevue! Well made sushi at very affordable prices. Highly recommend house rolls and seared salmon, but everything's good!

A small but serviceable kaiten sushi restaurant. Prices are quite reasonable. Sushi quality is comparable or better than most other kaiten style joints. Staff is friendly. And no problem with ordering items that you may not see on the belt. Lunch time can be crowded and you may have to wait a bit for the few seats/booth. I think I usually walk away satisfied and full but the bill comes out to only $15 or so. Service is good and responsive. And, they can pack a nice to-go package. All around, primarily because of its reasonable price, Marinapolis is my top sushi place.

I really enjoyed this conveyor belt sushi joint. I do like fine stylish high quality sushi but most of the time I want to stuff my face without bankrupting myself. With most plates costing between $2-3..how can you go wrong. Every time I've gone, it's been full and I'm stuffed for around $30 (2 people). My favorite and the cheapest grub spots in Bellevue....

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Sushi Land is a great restaurant, but the one in Bellevue is a disappointment. Their parking lot is tiny, and when I was last there, the entire restaurant screamed, "filthy!" I caught one of the cooks in the back eating straight off the conveyer belt. I wouldn't mind it if that was the only thing he did... but he had the guts to put the plate back on to the belt. STRIKE 1. A few minutes after my friend and I sat down, the general manager comes busting in the door, and starts complaining in front of the customers about how the chefs haven't used enough of the avocado shipment they received that day. STRIKE 2. As one of the chefs begins to fulfill his manager's wish by cutting up more avocado, he coughs right into it. STRIKE 3. I love Sushi Land (in Redmond and Lynnwood), but sorry... I will never be coming back to this location again.

Welcome to seafood cesspool. Never trust a conveyor belt sushi joint with lukewarm, uncreative plates--half of which are drenched in low-quality mayonnaise. This place is a dumpster of old, frozen, processed (imitation everything?!), nearly--or possibly--expired collection of marine animals. I admit I was bullied into liking this place when I first came to the U.S. and was forced to lower my gustatory standards to that of a high school hillbilly. It took me a year to realize that this place ruins my precious taste buds and that it's impossible to eat here without being eye-raped by their non-Japanese "sushi chefs." Also, there isn't once visit that doesn't involve a bitchy, self-righteous waitress who hates her job and takes it out on customers. Adding 1 star to my review for their hot green tea (which barely ever gets refilled), mango and red bean ice cream, and prices. Thank goodness I'm only paying half as much for shitty sushi as I would at Benihana or Blue C.

Cheap for a reason. Good service but the food is really below average quality. Every plate on the conveyor belt does not look fresh. I went today and had one of their new specialty roles and the rice was tough and almost stale so it makes me wonder how long its been on the belt. After eating here today, I felt nauseous for the rest of the day which is concerning, and I am going to conclude it's due to the un-fresh raw tuna. It has been 7 hours and I still lack an appetite and feel nauseous.

I've always loved Sushi land! every sushi land restaurant is awesome except for the Bellevue one for some reason. I came here with my sisters not very long ago and it was the nastiest sushi ever.

  • Ken S.

I have been coming here for about 9yr now. There is a lot of hate about the fish not being fresh, bad service ect.. but for what they charging, you can't expect too much. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. It is easy to keep the bill under $10 if you not too hungry. The sushi chefs try to accommodate your reasonable request even though it is conveyor belt sushi place. Definitely try the house special roll and seared salmon sushi.. If you want a top notch sushi experience-go to Shiro or Nishino. For a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, this is hard to beat.

I love sushi! I love convenient sushi and I definitely love yummy and convenient yet inexpensive sushi! haha This place has got it! I work in Downtown Bellevue so I can have a filling lunch for under $10 and it's so close to my office. I will say that it's not getting 5 stars because of a few factors. One, they don't make their Spicy Cali rolls correctly. If you order a roll they'll take a regular Cali roll from the belt and squeeze some spicy mayo on top of the roll and that's it.... not a deal breaker so that's why I'm still rating it pretty high. One major complaint I have is that their plastic cups they give with water aren't the cleanest. They smell like musty dish water and so I always request a straw and that diverts that crisis! I definitely reccomend any of the Sushi Land locations but this one is the one I frequently visit.

  • Tom F.

This sushi is, for the price, good. It's ridiculously cheap (I often have a meal for less than $10) and the sushi is decent. It's definitely not amazing (sometimes the rice can be dry, the fish less flavorful, etc.) but if you want sushi cheaply, this is probably the best place to go.

    (3)
  • Jeff G.

Average sushi. Great prices. I ordered to-go on a Saturday afternoon to avoid waiting for a seat. It took about 30 minutes to prepare my order. Friendly hostess.

Service was horrible! Lady who sat us proceeded to go outside and clean the windows and Ignored us for 20 minutes. The fish in the salmon rolls tasted funny. The rolls were very soggy. Place is dirty, unfriendly and a disgrace for Bellevue!

I've been coming to Sushiland since I was little, but as I get older I seem to like it less and less. Conveyor belt sushi only works well if fresh sushi is continuously put on the belt and if there is variety between the sushi also. I find that Sushiland tends to have a ton of California rolls, some made slightly different by drizzling with spicy mayo or some other unknown sauce. Their salmon nigiri is a little better, and I usually end up just eating a lot of seared salmon because they get a nice smoky sear on the fish. Although the prices are the lowest you'll probably find, I think a little more care can be put into quality and variety!

    (2)
  • Janelle D.

Coming here I didn't know how small sushiland was, compared to the southcenter sushiland. I was cramped in between a few people but It was pretty decent. The food was pretty good. I had my usual orders of gyoza, takoyaki, and fried calamari. And spicy tuna rolls.i didn't try the other food not seeing if I wanted to try it or not. There was only 2 waiters there and right after 2 it started getting really busy. I thought there could've been a few more waiters and chefs in the sushi station despite a family ordering 8 orders of seared salmon, and shrimp. Worth my 8$ I got my money's worth, but I think maby I will come back when not to busy.

  • Clinton T.

After a few disappointing experiences at Sushi Maru recently, decided to give Sushiland a try again. After a few quick lunches and some sushi to go tonight, i'll be visiting Sushiland more frequently. I can get outta there for less than $10 and the sushi to go was all made fresh and was delicious. It's no Ginza...but for fast food sushi, Sushiland gets it done.

Been here so many times and nevet thought about writing a review. Decided to do this today Good food for the money, while the food is cheap, never found they are not good. Fast and heathy. Taste good too.i am not a expert on sushi though. Perfect for weekend brunchs. I like it.

  • Juyoung L.

This place is very inconsistent, their udon is either too salty, too bland or sometimes.. just sometimes... on spot and when it is, it's so so good. Their spicy tuna hand roll, seared salmon, udon and so good roll are probably the best you can get there. The Mexican workers are kind of creepy though, they always try to speak Korean to me and are extremely flirty with me every single time I come in, even when my boyfriend is right next to me. The place isn't too clean, takes forever to give us our drinks and the workers are just alright. Their fish are sometimes fresh, sometimes just gross. They are not consistent at all. At least the place is cheap, which is probably the only reason why people come here. lols.

    (3)
  • Elisha T.

If you want cheap nigiri (non-roll) conveyor belt sushi, this is the place to go. Their nigiri taste fine and I often pay much less than other conveyor belt places because dishes are really cheap.

    (3)
  • Alan B.

My wife and I would come here every once awhile for some cheap sushi. We never have anything negative to say about this place. It's cheap, so you get what you pay for. I love sushi.. but i don't eat fish, so I guess my review here only works for non-fish sushi.. such as California Roll, Tamago, Tempura Shrimp Roll and etc.. If I don't want to spend too much money on fancy food, and just want to get my sushi fix. I will come here.

Living up to expectations Ambiance: 3 Food: 3 Value: 3 Sushi-land definitely lives up to its billing as the 'value' place to go for sushi. The setting is completely functional, just three sides to the center cooking area: no romance no artiness. The food is just average, just about what you'd expect for the money. The one hint I'd give about eating here is that you've got to order the more expensive/exotic stuff directly from the chefs. This includes things like spider rolls, hand-rolls, and tempura udon. They don't seem to put out these kinds of expensive stuff out on belts. Another reason is that their servers are overwhelmed. On a Tuesday night, there were just two of them for more than 40 patrons; the price you pay for lower prices.

  • KickinA A.

New management now and this place has gone downhill. I use to come here every few weeks and now with the new owners the food is not even close to the level in the past. Fish like Sockeye is not fresh and the size of the sashimi and sushi are 25% smaller. In addition, the new sushi chef does not appear to know how to even cut sushi, as the fish comes out looking like a piece of ham.

My all time favorite place to eat sushi! The workers here are very nice and helpful and will get you what you need as quickly as possible! The price is amazing compared to Genki, and Blue C. If there were any cons about this place, I would only say the space. It does get a bit cramped.... Other than that, it's a wonderful place!!

    (5)
  • Carolyn D.

The fish isn't quite as fresh as, say, Blue C but is is really good quality for the price. It's better than Genki, in my opinion.

Dirty floors, dirty counters, hard to get attention at this restaurant. Food is subpar and fish isn't all that fresh. Tuna had a greenish tinge... Would avoid it if possible.

  • Joan H.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The most expensive dish they have is up to three dollars. And it's very affordable to way there and you can get full easily off 10 dollars worth of sushi here. The staff here are very welcoming. My favorite dishes that I love to eat there are Krab salad, Seared salmon, salmon, California roll etc. I eat about 7 dollars worth of sushi and it just fills me right up. I really recommend eating here!

    (5)
  • Debra R.

Love this place because it is super affordable when I am having a sushi craving. Of course there are the top notch Japanese restaurants that excel in all categories but are much more pricier. They have basic rolls and maki. My husband and I always return when we're in the area and want something fast.

    (4)
  • Lisa K.

This place is decent. We've never really had the most pleasant experience here. The young man who serves us usually could be very rude and annoyed if you keep asking for orders, refills, extra tissues, chopsticks, etc. They have good eel nigiri's, it's the only thing I'd eat there.

    (3)
  • Wes Y.

Located in downtown Bellevue but hidden enough. Parking is convenient as they have their own lot. The ambiance of the place doesn't exactly say "Quality Sushi", well, may be it does, I only finished level 1 of Rosetta Stone - Ambiance. But the staff is fairly friendly. We ate very little of what was on the belt, but continued to order with the guys. Takoyaki, Ika karaage, seared salmon, scallops... were all very good. Items on the belt? So so. The thing that was crazy to me was the price. A lot of what we ate were $1.50, $2 plates which is a pretty good deal. If you go to conveyor belt sushi looking for great quality, I think you're crazy. But Sushi Land delivers what it's supposed to.

  • Mishy S.

This is a hole in the wall, but for the price (very low) the quality is good and the service is very attentive. You can quickly get in and out of here for lunch as a party of two or less, not great seating for groups though. What I like best about this place is that you can order rolls to be made for you or you can scan the belt. They also offer some nice rolls in the 3-4 dollar range that are both pretty and tasty. I particularly like the seared salmon here for some reason - get one of the dudes at the counter to fire up the blow torch and make you one :)

  • Tonya P.

I've only recently started to come here & wanted to say that it's great! This really outdoes the other sushi conveyer belt style restaurants for me. Honestly, if I wanted to pay big bucks for sushi I wouldn't consider coming to an all you can eat type place. Here they're what I'm looking for; affordable, satisfying & simple sushi. They don't complain about the rice I don't eat (thank god, bcos I actually had to pay extra for the rice I didn't eat at blue C), their staff is always nice, and although the service can be a little slow, they always get to me either way. This place is really my go to meal, I only wish it was a bit bigger.

    (4)
  • Maxim R.

Hands down my favorite sushi place! Can't beat the prices!! Love their beef udon (something you have to ask for since it's not on their menu). Their calamari is a hit or miss sometimes... Some days they'll be on point and some days they'll be too oily and bland. Service is usually good, never really had to flag someone down for refills or to make an order.

    (4)
  • Hannah L.

heard this place had good prices and pretty good sushi. yes, prices were good but not too much variety. quite crowded on a late sunday lunch which is a good sign. big negative for me in any restaurant was that bathroom was just so old and gross. service was fast which was a plus.

    (3)
  • N R.

This place deserves no stars but I have to give them one so whatever. My friends and I used to come here often like more than once a week. One morning my friend ordered something from the chef. When he was done preparing the dish and was about to hand it to us he saw that we both had our heads down just enjoying our food and he decided to get our attention by saying "Ching Ching Chong" and smiling with his coworker. I grabbed the plate from him kinda confused like did he really just say that? And after talking to my friend about it to make sure he did in fact say that, the coworker that was currently preparing something in front of us heard and said "Oh you guys aren't Chinese?" So yea that was the last time I step foot in that place. Not only are the two Mexican workers racist, they are also lazy because they don't like to take special orders. I see it in their face every time. Like I almost felt bad about asking them for something that wasn't on the belt.

    (1)
  • Hui-yu Y.

It's cheap and it's in Bellevue! whatt? haha. It's also the reason why it's always crowded. The quality is not much worse than Sushi maru that's very close by, but the price is more attractive. They usually runs out of tuna, but their seared tuna and seared salmon are so good! You have to ask for them when you go there! Their calamari is also better than Sushi Maru's. If you are on a budget, you can always get those gigantic house rolls for cheap if you aren't always craving sashimi like I do.. oh btw, their calamari (that you have to order specifically) is so much BETTER than Sushi Maru's! I don't even know what the hell sushi maru serves... their calamari is usually so soggy, tasteless and gigantic (you think it's good? They only give you 4-5 pieces :P). Unlike Sushi Maru's calamari, sushiland's contains more small pieces of calamari, and it's crispy and flavorful~

I can't recall the last time I ate at this branch of Sushi Land and I can't be descriptive enough about how much I despise it. This place is the god forsaken dumpster for fish that oceans would reject and spit out had it known that something as disgusting and heinous were swimming in it. Make no mistake about it that their sushi here is a monstrosity to edible foods and comparable to a pile of seasoned dog shit. Eating the fish here is not unlike nibbling on a sweaty ass gooch served in a moldy rice cooker. They don't even try to hide it either because they know that the customers they get are either poor high school students who think gourmet is eating soy protein isolates out of a test tube and sad blokes who work in Bellevue but have the mentality of said poor high school student. I can't even consider this food, it's a substance that makes your stomach rot and your balls shrivel up out of terror. I cannot count the number of incidents when friends have reported back to me that they suffered bouts of food poisoning after eating here. Almost everything they serve here is room temperature if you dare pick it off the conveyor belt. I can't say that the quality is that much better when you custom order certain rolls that you don't see going around but that sounds like a blind date with death. I will kindly pass on this location because it is fraught with bacteria and an intimate night with your toilet.

  • Julie C.

This branch of Sushi Land is the worst! The place is dirty. The plates where they put the sushi are dirty. The service here is TERRIBLE! I ordered for a miso soup 3 times (and nicely if I may add) from the same Mexican guy (the fat one) and it never came. And if you are planning to order directly from the ones making the sushi, good luck. It's like pulling teeth getting their attention. The manage of this branch seems resigned to the fact that his restaurant is the worst shithole in Bellevue! And you will notice that in all Sushi Land branches that all those who make sushi at the bar never smiles. WTF is that about?

I got sick from this place multiple times. My coworker experienced the same thing. I like the taste but they need to be cleaner.

Ahh, Sushi Land how I miss thee! We use to come here once or twice a week for years. The trick was getting here early, say 11:20 before the lunch crowd. Now that we've moved to the southwest, this is just one more thing we miss about the northwest. Mind you, Seattle has many great sushi choices. I'm kinda of fond of Ichiro's in Magnolia myself. But this Sushi Land reminds me of Japan. The food is really good, and yes, somewhat basic. My favorite is still their Spider Roll, which is outstanding. This is the original, and it's a classic! Enjoy

I guess you get what you pay for. The place dirty, and I fear unsanitary as well. The fact that most of the employees are Mexican is a bit disconcerting. Service is quite bad. The sushi is cheap - but it tastes cheap, too. I'm concerned I may leave with food poisoning. I watched a customer smell one fish and wrinkle her nose in disgust, which made me wonder which dish she had. I hope I didn't eat it too!!

Friendly staff. Kid friendly and the sushi is way better here than many others in the area. Their calamari is yummy. Not too salty. Seared salmon is one of our favs. I would give it 5 stars but the interior is a bit drab and outdated. They seem to give larger portions and better prices. My husband, 3 kids and I all ate last night for $35. We were all satisfied and finished off with a bowl of yummy miso soup. I would highly recommend this place any friend. Arrive early during busy times as they typically have a wait.

Reliable and cheap for whenever you want some quick conveyor belt sushi, but judging from my few most recent trips, the selection isn't as good as it used to be. This is especially apparent when you're looking for more nigiri type of sushi as opposed to rolls. Usually I just end up asking for multiple orders of seared salmon from the counter guys directly whenever the selection is lacking.

This isn't the Sushi Land it used to be anymore. Used to be busy, full of fresh sushi going around. Today, I had experienced probably the worst Sushi Land. I have been eating at the Sushi Land since its opening, and my very last visit was about a couple months ago, I was very disappointed in their slow service, dirty environment, etc. I decided to give it another try today, but nothing was improved. Yes, Sushi Land probably has the least expensive sushi selections you can find in Bellevue, but I really want this place to be little bit cleaner, less-stinkier, quicker in service, etc. I may give it another try, the very last try.

I used to love this place but in the last couple of weeks the place has gone down tremendously!!! Portion sizes and quality!!! Bring back the old sushi land that I have been a loyal client for the past 12 years! Don't think I will ever come back. Going to sushi maru!

For a cheap sushi fix (and there are times when you need that fix!!), this is a good & cheap conveyer belt option! My favorites here are pretty much anything that is fried -- the eel tempura roll, shrimp tempura nigiri (especially when fresh -- and if it's not making rounds around the belt, ask and they'll prepare some for you and then you KNOW it's fresh and piping hot!), shrimp tempura roll... I've had the salmon nigiri on a few occasions here and it's decent (not OMGAMAZING like at I Love Sushi, but it's WAAAAAAAY cheaper here too). My husband likes the same rolls as I do but he also LOVES their octopus dumplings. With all conveyor belt places, you don't really *know* how long things have been going around the belt, so it can be unsettling to bite into what you think is a delicious warm gyoza and it's cold... I'd suggest only picking those up when you see that they're fresh. None of the chefs here appear to be Japanese, but they can put together the rolls well enough. There are LOTS of $1 options here and I don't think any of the plates are over $3; usually we get out of here for under $30 even after creating a huge tower of plates. Parking is fine unless arriving at a peak time. Overall, definitely a good place for a cheap fix... especially when craving some tempura goodness!

Horrible sushi & terrible customer service. I ordered take-out, when I picked it up, I had to wait over 15min to pay for it. Plus, I was waiting and a stuff even noticed me but they took care of a rude person who cut a line in front of me first. I even told them that I was waiting before the rude guy, but they just laugh... Plus their sushi were not fresh and smelled weird.

Out of all the places in Western Washington I think this is the best sushi land. not only do they put out more than 5 variety of sushi plates on the conveyor but also the sushi chef listens to your orders. The prices are phenomenal and great if you want a quick fix meal. I work near by and it is very convenient to come and get lunch or dinner.

Out of all of the sushi land establishments in Seattle this is my favorite one. The chef, and waitresses here are very nice. Obviously, the busier and the more packed they are the poorer the service but I feel like that is with most restaurants.

One of my favorite places to go to, especially just to grab a quick meal! People expect too much from this restaurant (considering how they compare this place to 5 star restaurants...a little unfair). The staff there is friendly, but limited so granted they get swamped with a lot of orders so I do no expect them to wait on me 24/7. and the quality of the sushi there is great for the price they're selling at! A great place to go and chill with some friends.

1 Star... I've been to a couple other Sushi Land locations and the Bellevue location is by far the worst. Great value obviously, as all Sushi Lands are. Location is okay, quality is soso, service is horrible at all locations other than Queen Anne. My issue is the cleanliness!!!! So horrid... bathrooms, floor, dishes! Sticky floor, whole place smelt like bleach. Water tasted and smelt like raunchy ass! Absolutely disgusting. No bueno, lock that shithole up! Best to worst: Queen Anne_Lynnwood_Redmond_Bellevue NO.THANK.YOU

As far as conveyor belt sushi goes this place is probably the cheapest. The food options are reflective of that, but it's still good. The people are nice, the service is relatively quick, and you can get full off of a few bucks! The quality is what you would expect of inexpensive conveyor belt sushi, lots of options for those not into the raw fish scene as well (cooked tuna, imitation crab, fried shrimp, etc.).

I've been coming here once a week for almost two years. Safe to say, it's my go to lunch spot. It's a low-end conveyor belt sushi place but the bang for the buck here is almost unmatched. Sure there are plenty of places with better quality sushi, more inventive rolls etc etc. But you can come here load up on sushi and be out the door for $12. I've been here so much I think I get the exact same things every time. The seared salmon is probably my favorite dish here. It's an order only item but the salmon is always buttery and smooth. The spicy tuna hand rolls are also quite tasty, though it's generally a lot of extra work for the employees so it might be best to steer clear of ordering it if it seems really busy. You know the fish is fresh because you see them filleting the fish right there. Again, not the most inventive rolls and not hte highest quality, but for the price you pay it is MORE than worth it.

Honestly the WORST sushiland I have ever been to. Literally any of the other branches are so much better. Lynnwood, seattle, redmond, or renton. First off you only hear spanish in here. Hardly any english is ever spoken amongst the workers. Amd when I ordered the takoyaki, IT WAS STILL FROZEN in the inside. I brought it to the workers attention and he shrugged and said "it happens sometimes" AND WALKED OFF. I love going to sushiland but I will never come to this one. Just go to sushimaru across the street. Better customer service and not shitty food. I wouls give less than 1 star If I could. You have been warned.

Do not go to this sushi land unless you want to be molested with the "cooker's" eyes. I was loyal to this sushi land until I saw how dirty and filthy this place was. Everytime I go, I always feel uncomfortable and can't even enjoy my sushi without someone staring at me or drawing hearts on my sauce dish when they are filling it with spicy mayo.

The place doesn't look clean or well-maintenance but they serve decent sushi. Seared Salmon is super delicious (must order!!). Their sushi selection is quite limited. Staffs are friendly but service can be slow during rush hours. Their sushi "inventory" usually go pretty fast but just be aware if you come in a slow afternoon you may not get the freshest pieces of fish.

FAST, Cheap but Good sushi, great place for Quick Lunch in DT Bellevue. Their staff are all friendly and well trained professional, faster than other Sushi Land. Exterior of the building doesn't say "good" "fresh" sushi, but trust me, I'm Japanese, some of their sushi is even better than fancy sushi places in Seattle/Bellevue.

For a conveyor belt sushi place, this was all I could hope for and more. Let's start with the fact that they have uni-- let me finish-- for 3 dollars--not done yet--for two pieces. And the uni isn't gross either! It's not fishy or bad or anything. It's just as good as any uni I've had at a fancy shmancy $$$$ sushi lounge. It's rich and creamy and a sac of heaven in my mouth. That's right. It's a sac. Because it's a sac of eggs. gross right? Anyway. On TOP of that, oh yes there's more, everything else is super cheap and relatively good quality too. The salmon was good, the yellowtail was good, the sweet shrimp was good, the unagi was good, even though it wasn't smothered in sauce. They have an excellent selection for a place like this. The service is great. The sushi chefs in the middle of all the conveyor belts are pleasant and fun. They'll make whatever you want, given that they have the ingredients in stock. And they're lightning fast! This is the epitome of instant gratification. And to top it off, they have these excellent, warm, gooey sesame red bean balls for dessert. So I had a full meal of high quality sushi, including large quantities of my favorite uni, hot green tea and a nice dessert all for $13.00. sweeeeeeeeeeet

I'm giving this place 2 stars only because it's cheap to eat there. Where do I begin? The service was horrible! I think the management of this restaurant needs major improvements. My husband and I walked in for lunch on a Monday, there was nobody to greet us or seat us, the place was busy but not packed, tables were dirty. After standing and waiting for someone to acknowledge us, I walked up to a waitress, who was overwhelmed by doing all kinds of stuff. I asked her if we could sit at a booth that needed to be cleaned from previous customers. She looked kind of puzzled and said yes, few minutes later a busboy came by and cleaned the table and apologized for the wait. He was very friendly and kind. That same waitress took our order for the drinks and the miso soups and we didn't see her again until I had to get her attention for us to get the bill and pay. She didn't come by the table even ones, to ask us if we wanted refills, dessert or anything else for that matter. The sushi rolls were a nightmare of a selection...we just wanted the basic tuna, salmon rolls, Philly rolls- forget about it! Most of the plates kept going round and round, while people were waiting for their made to order rolls. The 2 guys preparing the rolls seemed very frazzled and I just simply felt bad for them. The rolls we ordered, were o.k. at best, not the best quality fish, seaweed was chewy. We got pot stickers off the conveyer belt and they were cold and soggy. The miso soup was probably the best deal of all. What else can I say? It was not a pleasant experience, yes it was cheap, but if you're looking for a cheap meal, you might as well go to McDonald's. We are definitely not coming back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place is amazing. The sushi is pretty awesome, and the price is the best that I have ever saw. The fish is super fresh and the prices are no more than $3. Great location, and even tho it w as kinda busy, the service was really fast. It was great sushi too. Not sure if this or Sushi Mojo was better, but I like both about equally. Even tho the prices here a slightly lower. The only thing that I can say is that they don't have super white tuna here.

  • Lucy L.

Ok, so this place isn't Umi. But I can get full here for under $10, and I'm more than okay with eating tuna salads and house special rolls to get there. Not to mention their seared salmon is to die for, and only $1.50. I only wish I'd discovered this chain years ago, before I forked over all my money to Blue C amidst rising prices and shrinking portions.

This is definitely my favorite place for sushi!!! I love how you can try whatever's on the belt and only be out $3 max (most of their stuff isn't on $3 plates anyways). And omg. They have TAKOYAKI!!!! It's best fresh because it is fried, so grab it on its first time around. Their portions are pretty generous too (3 house rolls for $1? I think the average is 2/$1.50.. house rolls are mostly fillers anyways, but still..) Sushi land isn't classy, but it's always full, the sushi is always fresh (high sushi turnover), the sushi chefs are always nice and obliging, and I don't think I've had cheaper decent sushi.

Don't be hatin on my Sushi Land. $1.00 tamago and $1.50 salmon and tuna nigiri? DEAL! I don't understand why someone would go here thinking they were going to get some frilly sushi roll: The most expensive thing on the menu I believe is like 4 or 5 bucks? It's basic and it has never once gotten me anywhere near sick. I'm a big fan of their calamari. You have to ask for it; however, for $1.50 it's salty, slightly spicy and NOT too chewy ( well most days). Any of their nigiris, tempura and some of their special rolls are good too. Don't hesitate to ask the chefs to make something that isn't on the belt or isn't fresh enough for you. They may seem a little scary with their super sushi making intensity but they are all really nice and willing to make whatever...trust me. Been coming here for years and I hope their prices remain low and their atmosphere casual. You may have to wait but it usually moves pretty fast. I never leave here with more than a $10 tab and that is when I'm super duper hungry.

The sushi is okay. Can't complain when it's on a sushi belt and you definitely cannot compare it to gourmet sushi. And when you try gourmet sushi, you can't really go back to the cheap kind. Parking is a total hassle too because the lot is normally packed (whenever I go there at least). It's probably one of the major reasons why I avoid eating here.

The WORST sushi anywhere, ever. Interesting concept, but a complete failure in execution. There is such a thing as good conveyor belt (kaiten) sushi, but this sure as hell isn't it. I went a couple times just to be sure I was giving an accurate review. It's tough to order or ask any questions of the people behind the counter, since I don't speak Spanish. None of the people making your so-called "sushi" speak English, other than the manager. The waiters/waitresses are mostly young kids, sloppy and looked high when I was there...LOL. Yes, it's super cheap for sushi, but in this case you clearly get what you pay for. I'd rather get the disgusting sushi you find in the refrigerated cases at the grocery store, than eat here again.

There are so many sushi bars in Bellevue now, just go elsewhere. When I went to pay for our plates the cashier was snippy when i didn't tip. I really had no reason to. All they gave us was water. It's not like they came over to check on us at all. The sushi is really mediocre.

  • Dino D.

Going downhill. The only thing that draws people here is the price because it is dirt cheap. Service is lacking mainly because they are and always have been understaffed. You always have to call a server because after they bring you your drinks you will have a hard time getting their attention and they rarely come by and ask if everything is ok. The sushi "chefs" never make eye contact and they make you feel like you are harassing them when you ask for something. Last time we went there the conveyor belt had barely anything on it, it was literally 70% empty. The chefs were focussing on preparing take out orders and there were 2 servers for the whole place. We were seated for at least 10 min and not one person had helped us. This place will still draw in people who just want cheap sushi but there is so much competition now that Sushi Land needs to step it up or risk losing more people like me.

I think most of my bitterness for this place is due to the fact that I used to work here... and Sushi Land was the worst job I've ever had in my life. Why are the servers cranky and usually couldn't give a crap? Because sushi-land do not treat their employees very well. Minimum wage, $10 of tips a day and no employee discount. depending on the manager of the day, it can be demoralizing sometimes. All that aside, I think sushi land makes decent sushi for the price. I usually go during off peak hours so I dont have to wait very much. Their udons are my favorite, esp Salmon Skin udon. They give you a generous portion of salmon skin most of the time. From working there, I wouldn't recommend the ice creams because they do sit in the fridge for a VERY long time, thats why it smells like stinky fridge. It really depends on the day, I can come out very content or pissed off. My biggest advide is probably... DONT WORK FOR THEM.

Updating this to be more fair to my other reviews. Marinepolis is still a great value, but the rolls can be sloppy and the service is spotty, so I can't compare it to the other 4-star places I've reviewed.
