A last minute decision. But found a wonderful place we will be going back too. It was yummy and I am not much of a veg person. I couldn't tell nor did I miss the meats!

Best vegetarian restaurant in US. Paneer, wheat flour etc is made fresh and everything had very authentic taste. Very healthy, clean and true indian taste. Must try place in seattle.

First time here and with the whole Family for the Lunch Buffet. Our two kids under 7 years old (picky eaters), ate till they were satisfied :) The food was fresh and delicious, not a crazy big selection, but hubby and I were okay with it! It's great they can focus on a few great yummy dishes, the dessert was awesome. The Staff was friendly and they always came by regularly to pick up our empty plates. Everything was clean: Dining Area, Food Area, and also the bathrooms. The food area was a little cramped, but we didn't mind. :) Definitely would go here again for the Lunch Buffet! Great Vegetarian & Vegan Selection! The whole family loved it!

I will shamelessly rave about this place to anybody who listens. I love everything about the joint - from its delightful, happy staff to the great food and warm atmosphere. The place is 100% vegetarian/vegan, which admittedly put me off at first. As a proud carnivore, I was skeptical that they could match the flavor of a good lamb dish. Boy was I wrong. I've never tasted cashews pop like grapes and potatoes melt in curry like I have here. Do yourself a favor and try them out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

We were here for lunch on a Friday afternoon at 1:00pm (so just after the lunch rush). I am not a connoisseur of Indian food. I tried a little bit of everything in the buffet and thought the food was fresh and tasty! The restaurant was clean with a nice ambiance. The service was excellent and very attentive. I'll be back!

It is unfortunate that I'm writing this, but its intent is not to discourage the hard working staff but to encourage them and bring home the customers' perspective. I had been there for a lunch buffet on a weekend, I imagine that could also be one of the reasons for my unsatisfactory experience. Few shortcomings, which once worked out will make this place the best: 1) Insufficient utensils: Expecting a huge crowd on weekends, the management should have taken care of utensils availability accordingly. You felt lucky if you got the chance of having two bowls in one go. 2) Super slow Refills: Considering the concept of Buffet, one should not have to wait too long for the refills. It took so long to refill the dessert that I found many people left without it. 3) Inconsistencies in served dishes: In Buffet, I think, each one should be served the same food. Sadly for some dishes we didn't get the same refills, it was apparently an entirely new dish. 4) Unequal Treatment: I appreciate that you give special treatment to your regular customers, but I think every regular customer was once a first time visitor. I would expect the same treatment to everyone irrespective of their country of origin.

This is a complete vegetarian place, however, their food is more than great. Personally, I am not a big fan of meat so often times, I really enjoy these vegetarian restaurants. They have a really big menu and lots of delicious goodness to choose from. I would seriously recommend the Paneer Masala. It was absolutely positively delicious. First of all, it is served in a creamy sauce, and the level of creaminess was what I did not expect. It was rich and flavorful, goes perfectly with nan or rice! The other masala we ordered was the Tofu Vindaloo. The sauce was tomato based with a pretty strong acidic taste. My first impression of its look and taste was that it was a tofu in marinara sauce. Obvi, we enjoyed the Paneer much better. We ordered garlic nan to go with our curry dishes. One order of nan is plenty enough for two people.

OMG is this place good. We went in for my birthday dinner a couple of months back. My husband has a dairy allergy and I am a vegetarian with a gluten allergy. Everything was labeled very clearly as gluten free and vegan and everything is vegetarian. It was so nice to be able to order things with no issue. They do a gluten free version of naan which was great. We have been back since and had lots of opportunities to try different dishes. The whole family agrees that the Vegetable Coconut Kurma (vegan and GF) is the very best. The rest of the family are all meat eaters and they still agree this is a great place to go. They also have a wonderful lunch buffet. This is one of my favorite Indian places hands down. Ps - this is in a shopping center so theres plenty of parking

I like to try new foods when I am traveling on business to Seattle. Saw this on Yelp and decided to try. The food was delicious. There was a ton of flavor and more than enough to fill me up. I will definitely be back.

Great food. Horrible delivery service. We had used the Eat24 to preorder our food for delivery on two different days (April 16 and April 17). My colleague and I are working an odd shift, where the option of food during that time is quite limited. On April 16, we had ordered our meal 6 hours in advance. On the Eat24 site, it asks what time you want the order to come. We put the hours of 6:45pm on our request but at 7:00pm, still no food. On April 17, we had put this order in on April 16 because we knew it would be an order for 13 people. At 7:00pm, the food hadn't come at all. When called, the response we received was "we will be here in 20 minutes." If I were to do this again, I will just dine in. the food honestly is incredible. You forget that there is no meat in their dishes. And the spice level is on par to what I like. The tofu vindaloo extra spicy is amazing with garlic naan.

Literally the worst Indian food in the area. Everything is cookwd with a ton of sugar and tomato paste. Not authentic at all. On top of the terrible food, they even added a few items that we did not order.

I have been to this restaurant 3-4 times, for lunch buffet and for dinner. It's a North Indian vegetarian Restaurant. The owners are from Punjab in India and you see that influence with dishes like sizzling stuffed eggplant, stuffed okra, mixed spicy vegetables, paneer masala, or kadhi pakoda (fritters in yogurt curry) etc. Naan cooked in tandoors was perfected in Punjab. The dishes are authentic and similar to the Indian vegetarian food eaten at homes in Punjab/Delhi except that they tend to be a little more oily. The naan here is brought to the table at lunch buffet and is large and nicely done. The lunch buffet price is reasonable at $10-11. The dinner is a la carte. They're closed Sunday. It's a cozy ambience and food is average. I would have liked it more if it was a little more flavorful and spicy and a bit less oily. Service is pretty decent. It's a favorite haunt for T-Mobile employees for lunch as they work next door. Ample parking as its next to an Albertsons. If you're vegetarian, try this place for sure. I think it's better than Pabla Vegetarian Cuisine nearby in Issaquah and I cook North Indian food! If half stars were allowed I'd give them 3.5 stars.

Love, love, love their lunch buffet! So first of all, I'm not a huge fan of Indian food (although I've eaten it a lot as I've gone for work or with friends, even went to India). But I absolutely love the food here and can't stop raving about it. I only went because I had a free coupon from VegFest and now I'm hooked. Recommend the spinach soup, the warm naan, the appetizers, the desserts, ok so basically everything. Why can't they have a location in Seattle??? At least it's not too far from my work. Staff were extremely nice and friendly. Overall a great experience!!!

It was such a pleasure to find this place! It doesn't look much from the outside, but inside it is lovely, clean, and the food is delicious! As vegetarians, we are used to finding only a few choices on menus. To have such a huge menu of vegetarian food was a real treat. We split paneer makhani and a tandoori paneer dish that came on a sizzling platter with onions and peppers. Everything was spiced perfectly (which has become harder and harder to find). The service was prompt and friendly. I will definitely go back, even though it's a bit of a drive.

An absolute must-try for vegetarians and vegans. I had the lunch buffet, and it was good. However, I was missing a few of my friends from the animalia kingdom. Yeah, that's right, b******, I took off a star for not getting meat. :-)

  • Cecilia N.

I came here for lunch. The staff was friendly and service was fast. The food, however, was bland. Bland is not a word I would use to describe Indian food, but here we are. I tried everything in the buffet. I don't know what it was, but it just felt like it was missing something.

The dishes were not dirty but really old. I did not like the feeling. Although there was a sweet white soup that was delicious!

No alcohol served at this location, and they have yum vegan items. Went here for Dinner, and loved all dishes! I took a salt lassi to start with, as they didn't serve alcohol. I crave for authentic Punjabi paranthas, so when I saw them on the menu, I decided to order a gobi and one aloo paratha, which were fabulous and authentic. Pretty filling too, I could only eat 1.5 parathas. My husband ordered a vegan curry, which was by far even better than its sister, paneer butter masala. Food didn't taste heavy and creamy like most indian places, and the spice levels were just right. I could have used a little more salt in the food, though. Defly going back here for more parathas!

Food is really good. Never thought I would enjoy Veg-Buffet this much. There Naan was the best I had in US. Curries was very good and tasted very fresh. 4 Stars as they had less appetizer's (just one). Will recommend this restaurant if you are looking for quality over quantity.

  • C D.

This is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend eating here. The food is fantastic--everything was just as I would like for Indian food. They don't use tons of oil like most Indian restaurants, which I appreciated. As a vegan, more than half of the options are vegan as well as gluten free. I had and recommend the aloo matar and daal, but I'm sure everything there is wonderful. One of the best things about this place isn't the food, but the people and atmosphere. This is a family-owned restaurant, and the owners are incredibly kind, thoughtful people. It's rare to walk into a restaurant and sense such peace, which I'm sure can be attributed to the people enjoying their work. The place being clean and bright inside complements the wonderful people working there. They were quick for pick up, too. They had our food ready within 15 minutes. We will definitely be back soon!

I popped in today to try their $9.99 lunch buffet and was underwhelmed. This place is completely vegetarian, so it seemed to make their offerings less tasty than every other Indian buffet I've tried. They have about 7 entree curries, and the usual sides. I didn't go for the tomato soup. While I liked that Chai tea was on the buffet, their dessert offering was just the little Indian doughnuts. I probably won't be back. I really hope India Gate re-opens soon! (directly across 90)

Ok... So I just became living prove that you can have a great meal with no meat! This Midwest boy got a deal for $5 off a meal $10 or more... Come on Bombay House. I had no clue it was vegetarian! I'm stuck now, right? Amazing lunch. Simple but with exploding flavor! Job well done gentlemen. Job well done.

I have been to this restaurant for dinner around 5 times over the last 8 months. Every single time the food has been delicious. It is a little out of the way for me but the service and quality of food are reasons enough to drive the distance. The staff is super friendly and they attend to you quickly no matter how busy the place is. We went once when there were a party of around 15 people being served and even with that we were attended to promptly. The food has the right amount of spice and they do adjust promptly when we request the spice levels to be lowered (or raised). I definitely recommend this place.

North Indian vegetarian food, simply made and low on chili - mostly decent stuff at the buffet. The dessert kheer was sour, and the tea watery. Friendly service.

This is a great restaurant. Quality food, nice service, and very reasonable prices. We just go and order whatever the staff recommend. Faves include the lentil soup -- liquid comfort. Also the Mushroom Jalfreezi - sweet bell peppers and mushrooms, with an almost Indonesian (?) flavor. Bombay House has one drawback: The enticing smells and specials make it wayyy too easy to over-order. My husband and I have spent more than one night, tossing and turning on too-full stomachs, as we rue our Bombay House gluttony. Not the restaurant's fault, ours. Oh, and though this makes me sound like a dork, I really dig their artwork. When they got rid of a portrait of Omar Khayyam and his lady love, I felt sad; but they replaced it with an even more colorful one of Punjabi party people. So all's well.

yelp has overwhelmingly good reviews to this place. hence we thought of trying this place. Went for a buffet lunch on a Saturday. Food was descent. Paneer butter masala was the best among the lot we had. But dessert wasn't at all tasty. We had semolina halwa (sooji ka halwa as simple as tht :) ) and let's say we could have just skipped it. Not enough ghee, not enough sweetness! Would say, we have had better food at places with average reviews!

  • Vyjayanthi R.

Rather pleased with this find, but I'll need to try out more of their menu. I absolutely loved the sweet lassi, it is a must-have! The vegetable kurma we had was awesome - not as coconut-y as I expected but delicious nonetheless. All the entrees come with a pretty large bowl of rice so its safe to say they can be shared by two people. There is a lot of comfortable seating inside, so this is a step up from Chaat n Roll. Service is efficient and the ambience is one of a quiet family style restaurant.

The lunch buffet at Bombay House is great for vegetarians, with an assortment of curries that use vegetables and lentils rather than meat. For me, I missed the meat or at least tofu that I typically order at Indian restaurants. However, the flavors of the curries were all extremely fragrant and different from one another. Other offerings include rice, fresh vegetables, and fresh naan that is brought to your table. I loved the slight crunch on the outside and the doughy interior, particularly because the waiters would refill your basket with freshly hot naan whenever your old naan got cold. For a purely vegetarian restaurant, Bombay House does an great job of providing a complete meal full of spices and flavor!

Avoid delivery. I used the order delivery service that's integrated into Yelp and can't recommend it. It took an hour and 40 minutes for my order to arrive...and that was only after I called to remind them that I placed an order. What arrived was a cold entree and warm lassi.

Bombay does it right! I took a group of 12 a week ago. The service was fantastic. They took a couple of minutes to rearrange the tables and than seated us. What was great was they asked to wait a few minutes so they could make sure the food was fresh off the stove and than handed delivered naan soup and pakora! This to me showed they wanted to treat us well! The food had excellent taste great variety! The food is mild and great flavours. I would recommend this to anyone interested In a great buffet and great staff! Try: pakora, eggplant, daal, onion chaat, and paneer! Naan was very well done! Soft and easy to tear One of the best I have had in Seattle.

Ordered from here for delivery. They were very courteous and fast. Even though we lived much further away than their usual delivery radius they helped us out. Food was AMAZING. Generous portions, probably ordered way too much :) but leftovers! Thank you!

I had the lunch buffet at Bombay House and it was fine. The restaurant is all vegetarian, which is good for me. The fresh naan at the table and service and all were good. I just think some of the choices they made with the curry selections were a bit off. Like instead of having paneer makhani, they replaced the paneer with tofu. It wasn't good. Okra... was OK. Really, the two items I did like were the kofta and saag paneer. The pakoras were fine and the kheer dessert was also fine. Overall, Bombay House was good value for the money. Maybe if I had ordered from the menu, the issue of strange entree choices wouldn't have been an issue.

Bombay Paneer sizzler was the best, although I didn't like Malai Koftha that much as malai was missing in kofthas :)

Sad to say, just 2 stars. The low rating is due to an experience I had from one staff member (who I believe could be the manager). I had been a regular patron of Bombay House since they opened. I frequented the restaurant for take out orders of their lunch buffet. The time of day was after the lunch crowd; 1:45 PM-ish. The aroma in the restaurant was wonderful! I received my take out container & excitedly approached the buffet of what I knew would be delicious vegetarian & vegan Indian dishes. This staff member walked ahead of me & positioned himself in front of me, watching me fill my box with a very stern look. He definitely gave me the feeling that he was watching so that I would not take too much food. I felt very uncomfortable & offended. His action was very obvious. For buffet take out, it is quite obvious that one can only go through the buffet once, which is undoubtedly less consumption of food than a customer who will dine for a 2 hr lunch. A "to go" customer should be welcomed to fill the container to their desire. FYI - the current size of the take out box is much smaller than the size of the original take out box, when Bombay House first opened. In my eyes, a take out meal is a compliment to a restaurant; the fact that a customer loves the food so much, that the effort is made to drive to the restaurant, pick it up & enjoy the meal at home. Upon leaving the restaurant, I told myself that as much as I truly enjoy the food, I would not return to a restaurant that is managed by someone who doesn't welcome their customers with hospitality & strive to make the dining experience enjoyable, whether the customers dine in or out. Please note, there are other staff that are very friendly & nice; in particular a tall polite gentleman waiter. Luckily, Bellevue is an area where one can easily satisfy cravings for delicious Indian food & receive good service!

so i've only gone here for lunch, so this is for their lunch buffet. the food was great! all vegetarian, so i could try everything they had, and they had a pretty good selection, everything was pretty hot and fresh. two different kinds of basmati rice (plain and fancy). you even get fresh hot naan upon sitting. the servers were super nice - water was constantly being refilled. most of the low ratings for this place (here and foursquare) are for people asking for meat dishes - come on, guys. it's an all-vegetarian indian restaurant. if you wanted meat, there are plenty of places that have that - you obviously walked in and continued eating after the fact. it's like walking into a chinese restaurant and complaining that they don't have any quesadillas.

By far the best Indian restaurant around Seattle. The taste is exceptionally authentic and the staff is extremely courteous. The lunch buffet has a wide variety of tastes and is cheap on the pocket too. The ambiance is amazing and is a perfect place for a relaxing dinner. I highly recommend Bombay House, if you are looking for authentic Indian flavors.

If you are looking for tasty and non-greasy Indian food, then your search stops here. The service is pretty fast and they are friendly too. They have vegetarian and vegan options too. We ordered Masala Paneer and Chole Bature and the Bature was not oily at all and everything tasted so good. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends alike.

I've been for lunch several times now, and the food is always wonderful. My only complaint is that the food could be a little warmer- their buffet tables seem a little underpowered (maybe just my imagination). For dinner through, wow. I have had their eggplant sizzler plate twice now- probably the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Never had a bad experience. The folks who run this are super polite and helpful- ask for recommendations!

Crazy high reviews for this place and since I was looking for fast eat that wasn't by the busy Factoria, decided to order to go from here. I got the vegetable masala and garlic naan and paid $20 for the meal which seems a little high. Overall the food was tasty - the basmati rice was fluffy, the masala was flavorful without being too salty, and the naan was garlicky and soft. If it weren't so expensive and fully vegetarian, I may frequent this spot more often!

  • Tammi A.

I've really enjoyed all of the menu items I've purchased with one exception the cucumber raita was more yogurt than cucumber. I typically order food to go and its always correct and done quickly. The portions are generous and most entrees could accommodate two reasonable hungry people with a side of rice and an appetizer as the whole meal. Staff is friendly and helpful if you have questions.

Was on the road between appointments and needed a quick lunch...being pescatarian, my choices were limited, so I decided to give an Indian buffet a try. I am glad I found Bombay House thanks to the other excellent Yelp reviews. The location is very convenient to the 90 fwy, and appears to be a favored lunch spot for the local techie crowd, plus some "ladies who lunch" there on a regular basis. The buffet offered a suitable number of options, although I noticed a lack of spicy dishes or options. Everything is vegetarian or vegan, so if you're looking for butter chicken, look elsewhere - but it's worthwhile to give traditional Indian vegetarian dishes a try. Food was kept at a good temperature, the serving and seating areas were clean, as was the restroom, and the dishes had an excellent flavor and were well made. You can order drinks and dessert at an additional cost, but there was one sweet dish at the buffet, and you'll probably be too stuffed to bother ordering more anyway...especially with the huge slab of fresh naan bread served with your lunch. I am sure they have far more options from the dinner menu, but for a quick, delicious, filling and very inexpensive lunch, I highly recommend Bombay House.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Seattle Area. Don't forget to try their Samosas and Paneer Masala.

Food was not even close to India flavours. Ambience and service sucks..! Lot of scope to improve. I won't recommend it to anybody. Very limited options and food was not fresh at all. Nanes were okay.

Best Indian food I have ever had, bar none, hands down, AND WE ARE NOT VEGETARIANS!!!!!! This is a vegetarian restaurant, and there use of spices, and every person who works in this little place is North Indian and knows how the food should be cooked and prepared. The Chana Marsala is heavenly as is the hot plate paneer w onions and peppers. Meet the owner "lucky" is his name. He will bring stuff to the table that they make for themselves that is not even on the menu. Tell him Dr RON sent you and you want the good stuff that is not on the menus. But don't tell too many others as its a small restaurants! Ron

I've only been here for the lunch buffet. I've been here probably 4 or 5 times in the last month. Sometimes it's hit and miss when it comes to the freshness of the food. If I arrive just after opening, I know I'm getting the good stuff that hasn't been sitting for too long. They change up the dishes so they aren't always the same, which can be a bummer for me sometimes since there are dishes I like more than others. The naan is fanastic and brought fresh to your table. I love all of the wait staff. They are friendly and attentive. This is a vegetarian restaurant, so don't go expecting meat dishes. You'll be sorely disappointed. I've added this place to my regular lunch rotation.

Picked up takeout food there. Very friendly staff, food was excellent and the time it took to make was fast. The atmosphere inside during the lunch hour seemed to be pretty casually. If I lived in the area I would come here again.

I'm impressed. Last week, I tried both the lunch buffet and then dinner. The buffet had an excellent selection, although a few labels were missing. Tasty, if a bit salty. Based on that meal, I would have given 3 stars; however, I went back for dinner and found the made-to-order food better quality and delicious. We had the tofu vindaloo which had a good kick and complexity in the flavors. The Punjabi saag was also good, if a bit salty. Basmati rice was fluffy (and had more flavor than when on the lunch buffet) and the garlic naan was a clear winner. Service was excellent - very attentive and friendly. Decor is fine. My one complaint is in our booth the table was so far away from the seats that we both had to lean forward and sit on the edge of our seats to eat. Not very comfortable. I will be back and I'm so glad to have another vegetarian option nearby with great vegan choices.

I went in for their humble buffet. I will get the one con out of the way, the spread is not very large. the day we went, they had dal makhani, mushroom, paneer, saag, some coconut curry and 2 kinds of rice. They also had chai, pakoras and raita etc. The food is delicious and naan is served fresh on your table. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and so did my non-Indian friends. The price of 9.99 is pretty unbeatable. We felt very sleepy after going back to work indicating that the food is very rich.

I don't know a whole lot about Indian cuisine but this place is my favorite Indian restaurant in WA so far. I had a bunch of Indian restaurants in San Jose and I think this place is quite unique. Edit: yes they also take AMEX.

Excellent food all vegetarian and vegan options. I had the buffet at Bombay House for lunch alone My God! Food was SO unbelievablely delicious. Ambiance was good, Very Attentive, friendly staffs too! They will bring the naan to your table and you can ask for more. Definitely worth a try! I will go back there again!!

Authentic and tasty Indian food. My baby loves the lentils. They have a great dinner special for 2 people which fed both kids and 2 adults. I had the Indian Chai tea, the garlic naan, Chana Masala, Lentils, rice and Saab Paneer. You can't beat the homemade taste and fast service. Definitely a new addition to our restaurant list!

Amazing to me that one of the very best meals of my life would come at an Indian vegetarian restaurant. I had the Masala paneer, the house specialty. Seriously, incredible!

  • Thomas M.

Food was excellent, price was reasonable, and I definitely plan to be back to try more of the excellent vegan/vegetarian menu. Place is new, and service felt a little tenuous, but genuine. Flavor of the food was excellent, loved the tofu vindaloo and the rice was nice and fluffy. Prices are fair and reasonable, but not budget level. Give these guys a try - you certainly won't be disappointed, and you might just find a new favorite! Really great to have something like this in eastgate, just off I90 next to Albertsons. Makes it super easy to grab some dinner on the way home. Looking forward to my leftovers for lunch tomorrow!!

Service was friendly, but slow -- if you're lunching in a hurry, definitely opt to go the buffet route, because ordering off the menu will take a bit. Fortunately, the food is worth waiting for! My Friday afternoon dining partner and I stopped at Bombay House today to check it out. We both love leftovers, so we opted against the buffet (even though everything looked good). For appetizers, I had a cup of their saag shorba, which was crazy delicious. My friend had their veggie samosas, which were huge and delicious (according to her, I didn't try them). For our main entrees, we both had the vegetable coconut kurma, which was really flavorful and yummy... but had no spice, at all. Friend ordered her entrée at medium spice and I ordered, "extra extra extra hot... I want to cry." The kurmas came with lots of vegetables, cashew nuts and golden raisins -- so good! I got a warning when they dropped off my plate about how spicy it was... but really, it was medium, at spiciest. I hope for someone else's sake my food wasn't dropped off at someone else's table -- I didn't see anyone crying so I figure they just toned it down. Boo. Because I was told my entrée was gonna be cray-cray hot, the server talked me into a lassi. I opted for strawberry because I've never had a strawberry lassi... and it was tasty but ho snap, it was sweet. If I could do it all over again, I would not order the lassi -- it wasn't necessary with the spice level and wasn't worth $4 to me. Our server didn't come back to ask about how our food was (I would have let him know there was not enough spice) because it was incredibly busy -- can't hold it against him, really. Overall -- we'll be back because the food we did get was delicious. I just hope next time my visit ends in tears (because of spicy food, and all that).

Driving back to Seattle from ellensburg, I stopped here for its convenience off i-90. The food was absolutely delicious (lunch buffet). The servers/owners (?) were very friendly and attentive. Steamy-warm naan appeared right away. I don't know a whole lot about Indian food but I tried a sample of almost everything and everything was delicious. This place is legit, you should go there

The food is delightful, the service prompt and friendly. Only thing to consider, however: if you are one of those people who dare all your restaurants to give you the ABSOLUTE SPICIEST their cooks can offer, you'll be disappointed. They can't really change their dishes for you that way. We even got the waiter to brandish two supposedly extremely hot sauces which weren't hot at all. That's it, though. ***EDIT*** My boyfriend and I returned to this place on Valentine's day for a special dinner to share. We got in before the rush, and talked to the very friendly bearded man who had been with the company for a number of years at another location. Turns out they remembered us from last time - our server (the bearded man mentioned above) told us, "We can make it very, very spicy for you. You didn't get spicy last time - we'll take care of that," and produced the eleven-star-spicy cheese that was *indeed* eleven stars, just as my boyfriend had been wanting from a restaurant for a very, very long time but no one ever delivered upon. The spinach cheese ended up being so spicy that I couldn't eat it without feeling like I'd destroyed my taste buds. so I held off. Despite this, my boyfriend finished it all with glee, sweating buckets, and exclaiming every few minutes that he couldn't taste anything anymore (and then suddenly he'd get hyper sensitive. Roller coaster waves of tongue sensation happening.) THAT's how spicy it was. I admit, I'm pretty darn impressed with a restaurant that remembers its customers and then swears to do better the next time they see them, and fully delivers. This Valentine's day dinner started the evening with a sizzle and things only got better from there. :)

Excellent Indian food. Neither my wife nor I are vegetarians or glutton intolerant, but we really enjoy Bombay House's food, even without alcohol. We've been here for dinner twice now. We always share everything, so we tried different food each time. Tonight we had Onion Pakora, Paneer Masala, a special Tofu dish not on the menu, garlic Naan, and Kulfi and Indian coffee for dessert. All delicious. The service is good, the staff of this family owned restaurant always helpful, and the décor is attractive. We especially enjoy how quiet Bombay House is; one can actually have a conversation here. We will return.

I was kind of skeptical coming here at first because the last vegetarian place I went to was kinda gross... but this place was super good!!! We went here for the lunch buffet and the naan bread was super hot and fresh. The rice was hot and moist and they had a good selection of curries. I was a little disappointed in the dessert selection and wished they offered rice pudding for the lunch buffet. Overall I highly recommend this place!

The Tofu Vindaloo is a winner!!!! Went to dinner with my husband and son last night. Since we live right in the area and are big Indian food lovers, we had been waiting anxiously for it to open. We were happy to hear it was vegetarian/vegan since our son is vegan. The experience far surpassed our expectations. The food was great, the spicy is indeed really spicy, which is great because we love spicy food and often encounter places that under promise on spiciness. We tried the Mushroom Jalfrazie, the Tofu Vindaloo, veggie pakoras, and two different kinds of Naan. Everything was really great, including the rice. The quality of the food was very, very good. Portions are nicely sized. Our favorite was by far the Tofu Vindaloo. The sauce was perfectly done. The naan was also very good, we had the paneer naan, it is a bit smaller than what you get in most places, but the serving is actually perfect for two people. We love the fact that it is close and convenient. Our son was also very happy to see that they had soy mango shake on the menu and was very pleased with it. Service was also very good. The atmosphere is ok, it is nicely redone, it does lack a bit of liveliness. Great neighborhood spot... Definitely plan on going back often.

Most authentic of the North Indian style food in the area. The portion sizes are great. I had dinner twice with friends and both occasions we overate:-). The food tasted so good. I was told the naan they make is from specially made whole wheat flour, it's healthy and typical of punjabi style of cooking bread. The service is very friendly. Five stars from my side.

Worst food ever.. we ordered chole bhature and chilli paneer sizzler.. both were disasterous.. bhature looked like pita bread fried.. so thick and tasteless.. total waste of money..will never come to this place again ever..

Great India cuisine. All vegetable and vegan foods. Tried a tofu dish with a side of bread and a appetizer. The food was good. A touch hot, but delicious. Tons of flavor and definitely something different. If you are looking to try something new. I would recommend it.

I went there for the first time yesterday and loved the food. by far the most tasty Indian food I had in Seattle area, but the service was not the best and hence 4 star for me. They took really long to bring the food, we tried dal, paneer masala and malai kofta and all of them were really tasty. Certainly would like to visit more times

I honestly could not tell you what's authentic and what's not when it comes to Indian cuisine, but I do know what tastes good when I shovel it into my mouth hole and the food here was damn tasty. Compared to other Indian food I've had elsewhere, the food here wasn't overly heavy and loaded with butter so I didn't feel like a beached whale when I left. The only downside possibly is that it's not in the most exciting of locations, but the interior is nice. Definitely my favorite Indian restaurant on the Eastside.

I love this place. The people are really friendly and make your visit really special. Love all the dishes I tried but Paneer Masala is the best. Soup is also unique in taste. I would say best vegetarian restaurant in Greater seattle area. Would recommend all to give this place a try

Little gem at Eastgate - very fresh and light, never disappointed! Paneer dishes are my favorite. You can even find tofu dishes here! In addition to freshly made naan, they also offer hot chai tea and tomato soup daily. Love the food and service!

A terrific meal with fantastic staff! Vegan Indian...yes, please! So many choices. We started off with samosas, then had coconut tofu masala, daal maharani, and garlic naan. DELICIOUS! The flavors were perfect. We can hardly wait to return for the buffet.

  • Andrew S.

If vegetarian tastes like this , I may never need meat again. Bombay House is a hidden gem in the Eastgate Plaza. The food is mouth watering, and unlike other Indian restaurants we've been to, it is both savory and spicy without being overly rich and filling. The oil sheen typically present on tikka masala is absent, as is that overstuffed bloated feeling I often feel after a sumptuous Indian meal. (Although it takes a mighty dose of willpower to not eat every morsel of the generous portions they serve.) As an added bonus, our picky kids both love the food as well. No hesitation to recommend this place.

BH is a savior for vegetarians, esp with their customizations! Food is great, their daal maharani, punjabi saag are awesome. I had masala chai there , it was OK, wasn't great. The menu is rich and offers variety for formal dining. Ambiance is good enough to host formal dinings. Cordial staff will help you have the best of your dining experiences @ BH.

Very disappointing experience. The items in the Saturday buffet were very tasteless. White rice, veg rice, plain rotti, 5 side dishes, and salad. The side dishes were very much salty and not at all tasty. The dessert was simply rice mixed with sugar solution. The pakkora was very much oily. Only the tea was good.

So far, I've only experienced the lunch buffets. But it's one of the best Indian buffets in the Seattle area, easily. I'm excited to try an official dinner here one day. Everything is vegetarian or vegan. The flavors are well beyond average Indian buffets, of which there are a lot in this city. The fresh Naan for even the lunch buffet is the best I've had. It's a bit of a hike from where I work in Bellevue, but the food is definitely worth it!

I was searching for good vegetarian restaurant & found this one. After going through so many good reviews decided to try this place. we were promptly seated & this is beginning of a nightmare experience for someone whoz craving for food on a empty stomach. I kept looking for someone to come up-to our table & take our order & after 15mins someone showed up to take our order apologizing for this delay & promising the food will be soon & fast on our table. we ordered Malai kofta, Paneer Masala, Pilau rice with 2 rotis & 1garlic nan. As promised the food was laid on our table within 10-12mins with just 1roti & wait where are the plates?? Did they forgot that we had to eat too. Another apologetic look by person serving us & he got us some plates. Since they had given only 1roti we began with Pilau rice until they could bring our rest of roti & garlic nan order. The Pilau rice was so bland it just tasted of turmeric. We finsihed 1 round of rice & still there was no sign of our roti & garlic nan. After almost 10mins they got the rest of our order of roti & nan. Could have overlooked all this delays/oversight had the food been palatable or tasty. There was no difference of taste between Malai Kofta & Paneer Masala both were having almost same gravy & it was horribly sour. We called up the person serving us to inform what horrible food that was. He promised to get another Paneer masala dish cooked properly & in 7-8mins he brought us another Paneer masala with extra roti. This tasted better than the previous Paneer masala but wasn't as good that I have had at some of other restaurants. somehow we had our food although we couldn't finish any of the dishes we ordered. The quickest service we received was getting the bill & clearing our table. Along with bill there was a feed back form too. I gave them poor rating on all the parameters on that form & I feel stupid that I paid $40 to eat such an distasteful unappetizing food. Overall an unpleasant appalling experience & NEVER EVER going to return to this place again.

This Indian food is incredibly delicious. It might be the best Indian food I've ever had. The flavors are more complex than most other Indian places around - the curries are deeply spiced and have a flavor much deeper than the typical one-note creaminess of curries elsewhere. Even the rice (included) was better than average. The prices are great as well, seeing as Indian food can be quite expensive. I love Bombay House, and would recommend it to everyone (not just vegetarians!)

  • Aidan M.

Bombay House is one of the better Indian restaurants in the area. I have eaten here a few times, and I have always been impressed by the food that they have. I love that they make their na'an without dairy (well, except the paneer na'an), since most places generally make it using butter or yoghurt. the mango soy shake is very good, and so is their tea. The entrees are great, appetizers are great, drinks are great, and the restaurant is pretty nice on the inside. The main reason I'm not giving this place a 5 star review is because they don't really do anything to stand out from other Indian restaurants. They are pretty similar quality and food wise to a lot of places nearby, and Bombay House while really good, just doesn't stand out. It is awesome though having a nice Indian restaurant in Eastgate, since we are pretty lacking of good restaurants in the area. If you want some really good Indian food on the eastside, Bombay House should be one of your destinations.

I occasionally come here for the lunch buffet. The staff is friendly and attentive. I usually try a bit of everything and its all so delicious! The naan is in plentiful supply and piping hot. Not sure what else anyone could ask for.

Best Indian Vegetarian Food in Seattle. Decent variety and food tastes clean. Great price for their lunch buffet. We brought an indian friend to this restaurant and he truly enjoyed it. Also, the Chai tea that's served as part of the buffet is a really nice bonus. The service is also really good. You can tell they really take a big effort to take care of their customers.

My take out experience from Bombay House was pleasant. Their menu did have a few unique dishes like Paneer Masala and a couple tofu dishes. The Paneer Masala turned out to be tasty and their Onion Pakoda was a big ball of pakoda rather than the usual onion strands... tasty for sure. It's a fairly new place (4 months I think). I would definitely go back.

In one fell swoop, this place went from being our favorite Indian restaurant in the Seattle area to a place we will not be going to. Reasons? Piss-poor attitude of the owners after serving a very bad meal. We started off with a tasty tomato soup, and paneer pakodas. Then began the fiasco. We were served a tasteless (no salt, uncooked potatoes and masalas ) alu baingan sizzler, an alu paratha that was so bad it would have incited a revolt anywhere other than in India's deep South, a Punjabi kadhi that was so thick we called it "Duh", and a veggie biryani that was tepid and a miserable representation of the great dish. Well, we thought : the owner knows we are regulars, we just ought to complain in a nice way and he's sure to fix it. We could not have been more wrong! After we complained, they came right back with a "new" alu baingan sizzler that was as bad as their first attempt [ just with some water thrown in to mash the potatoes]. They then one-upped themselves with a biryani that was considerably worse than the first attempt [again, it was more moist but otherwise tasted just as bad as attempt number 1], and proceeded to top it off with a kadhi, the less said about it the better. Thankfully at this point, a couple of us had a stomach ache that put an end to the suffering. Despite the fact that we barely touched the food and that we complained a few times both to the owner and his brother about the sad quality, we were charged for everything. Perhaps we should have complained about this as well, but what with the stomach aches and all, we left it at that. Suffice it to say that we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.

The service was slow, but the food was worth the wait. The service staff was extremely apologetic and brought out a free Lassi. I didn't even complain about the wait, but it was long. I figured the food would be good after I saw that the restaurant was full and 95% of the patrons were brown people like me! Loved all the vegetarian options.

Fantastic Indian vegetarian restaurant - food that is really made to order and tastes fresh unlike many Indian restaurants where curries are pre-made and ready to go most of the times. Food is also on the lighter side unlike heavy cream rich curries found elsewhere. Kudos for being vegetarian and still serving food full of rich flavors. We went for dinner and got malai kofta, paneer masala and garlic naan - everything was great, cannot wait to go back and try their lunch buffet. We also got the kulfi since one other reviewer had mentioned it on here - authentic and delicious. My new favorite Indian restaurant in the state of Washington!

Excellent food! Excellent service! I finally found an Indian restaurant that I can't wait to come back to. My wife is vegetarian and knowing that everything on the menu is geared towards her is really nice. The Mali kofta is my favorite. We usually get the assorted snacks appetizer platter, two entrees (you really only need one, but it's so good that you have to have two), plain naan, and a mango lassi. Even if you're a diehard carnivore you'll leave stuffed.

We were looking for a vegetarian Indian place for lunch and found this restaurant. Been there just once, and I must admit this was one of the best North Indian food I have ever eaten. We are the biggest foodies and we travel a lot just to eat. So this place is definitely on our list! The taste was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the service was very good. I wish this place was near Portland, so I could go there often.

Finally an indian joint with great tasting food. I stumbled upon this place and decided to give veggie food a shot (I typically stick to butter chicken and butter naan). Sometimes the litmus test for restaurants (in my view) is how well can they cook the simple dishes. So I decided to order Daal Makhani, Aloo paratha and a naan along with some mixed vegetable pickle. The food was fantastic, well cooked with all the spices blended in. Would recommend topping it off with kheer. The staff was super friendly and took care of me. Great to know of a nice Indian place 5 minutes from W.Lake Sammamish and Eastgate/Somerset area

We got take-out here because they offered a lot of vegan choices, which seems to be sadly lacking around here! We ordered 4 different vegan entrees. We had a bit of trouble when we got it home, as we couldn't tell which belonged to who ... most dishes had the same veggies in them, and frankly, they tasted pretty much the same, as they were all tomato-based. But since they were all yummy, we didn't care! The rice was fantastic, and the garlic naan was good as well. The portions were generous, and we all had enough left over for lunch the next day (except the rice, we nailed that right away). We'll definitely eat here again. I especially appreciate that you can choose your level of spiciness, as I like it mild, and my husband is at the other extreme. 10/20/13 ... updated to 5 stars because we did takeout again and the whole family was raving about the food! A couple of us ordered different items from the previous visit, and all were till tasty. Their Vegetable Coconut Kurma is fantastic! I am going to have serious cravings.

Stopped at Bombay House for the first time tonight. We love Indian and vegetarian food and Bombay did not disappoint. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. I ordered my meal mild so server offered to bring some of the spices to the table in case I wanted to make it hotter myself. We will definitely be repeat customers to this new neighborhood restaurant!

Customer service needs improvment. I waited in line to be seated. When it is my turn, two groups finished eating and wanted to pay. The lady did not even look at me before helping these people. She could have said "let me help them fist then I will get to you". She let me waited another 5 minutes. I decided to leave at that time.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a vegetarian. I enjoy the fare, but do not actively seek it out. The food was decent, but nothing special. The menu was a little limited because of its vegetarian only status, and the prices seemed a little higher than the competition. I was shocked to see all the 5 star reviews. I can only assume that this is because there are so few vegetarian only restaurants. There are much better choices available for Indian food in Bellevue.

I just ate there for lunch and it's amazing. First of all, the people are really nice and friendly, which I believe is very important. A good variety of vegetarian meals included in the lunch buffet. Tasted really good. Wasn't too spicy, like in some other Indian restaurants. The tea is really delicious. After having the lunch, I couldn't help not getting a to-go box. Prices are very moderate. If you are into vegan or vegetarian food, that a great place to go.
