Great prices at happy hour but the food/drink quality isn't so great. I ordered a California, salmon, and tuna rolls and they were mediocre. The ginger margarita was also OK but nothing to rave about. I was hoping that happy hour would be upstairs but the bar is actually secluded upstairs. It was pretty empty even around 6pm so it was a rather stale atmosphere.

I suspect that in the wide world of Seattle there are better sushi places. With that said, I definitely recommend Blue C. It's not incredibly special, but the taste is fine. I mostly come here for happy hour, when the slightly high prices cause me less annoyance.

Great concept and items off conveyor belt still very fresh. Unagi and sockeye nigiri were the best that I have had. Chef flash seared unagi since item was not on conveyor and was perfect. Place was very clean and staff was very accommodating. Prices were reasonable. Bath rooms are an excursion however clean and maintained. Overall great spot.

Service was great and attentive but the food was bland and no selection. I could have ordered off the menu but the point of going to a conveyor belt sushi place is to eat from that! In the 20 minutes I was there (1pm-ish on a Thursday), I watched the same old sushi go round and round. Nothing new ever came out. I did see a lot of people ordering off the menu so maybe that is the thing to do at this location. I know at the downtown Seattle location I ordered off the menu during their happy hour and it was superb.

This sushi was, at best, so-so, and the choice was quite limited compared to other sushi restaurants in Seattle or-if the comparison can be made-Vancouver. We were seated at the "end" of the conveyor belt (a few tables away from the end of the loop, at which point the belt was restocked), so it took us ages to actually get the kinds of rolls we wanted. Furthermore, even though the chefs were right next to us, it was hard to get their attention to request the rolls that we kept missing out on. In addition to this frustration, the rolls end up being quite overpriced; we had to pay about $30 each for what seemed like very little, substandard sushi. I will definitely not be back here.

They changed the menu about a month ago and supposedly increased the "quality of the fish". But they also increased the prices significantly and seemed to have eliminated any lower end options. (The web site is NOT accurate). It's just not worth the cost when there are other options. I'm sad. :(

Terrible. Embarrassingly bad Sushi. Didn't seem fresh, noodles over oiled, Sushi not rolled tightly, and the fish seemed old to me. If you want great Sushi avoid this place like the plague...... #badsushi

Best conveyor belt sushi I have ever had, which sounds like a caveat of a statement in itself. But, it's good here! I've been three times and have never been disappointed. Clear labeling, adequate quantities on the belt, and relatively low prices make this a really good spot for a quick bite. It took a while for us to get a table for seven - probably a better spot if you have a smaller group. The total bill came to about $160 for all of us - not bad! The bathroom is located at the end of a labyrinth of a hallway, up a few flights of stairs, and through a couple of doors. Good luck getting back. Hopefully your phone has GPS.

I had high hopes for this place, but they were quickly dashed when we sat down at the conveyor belt and saw the outrageous prices. I get it, this is Bellevue, but if you're going to charge me $5.50 for three tiny pieces of seared tuna at least make them flavorful. Same goes for most of the nigiri on the belt - small portions and about the same quality as grocery store sushi. Most of the plates weren't even sushi though - various noodles, desserts, and salads cluttered the belt too. The only thing I liked was the service, which was super friendly. Still, I don't see myself going back to this place EVER.

Ok here's the deal - I get why the rating is so low. Compared to a lot of revolving sushi places out there, Blue C Sushi isn't top-notch, especially considering how expensive some of the plates can be. The sushi itself really isn't that bad - actually, it's pretty decent. One of my favorite rolls was the BLT roll, a non-traditional California roll type of sushi topped with bacon and other yummy things. Having seen the reviews for this place ahead of time, I was very, very careful making sure that I didn't only pick $5.50 plates. Let me tell you - you need to be aware. Most dishes are within the $4~$5 range. The dish that are on the $2~$3 range are, oftentimes, non-sushi dishes including noodles, gyoza, tempura potatoes, etc. But I know - the best part of revolving sushi is getting to eat what you want. And technically you can do that at Blue C Sushi. But you might be paying a lot more than you expect if you don't keep tabs on what plates you get...

We were staying at the Westin across the street and after walking around the mall we came across this place and decided to drop in for dinner. The staff was super friendly and we were seated right away. The plates were color coded and ranged from $2.50 to $5.50. It was a little pricey for what you got. Most plates had 4 pieces no matter the price. Most of the ones we wanted to eat were $5.00 and up. I would say the place was filled but not packed and everyone seemed to be having a good time and enjoying their food. The rolls looked like they were made quickly and a few of them fell apart while we were picking them up. The favors weren't really that great we were disappointed since sushi is our favorite and we were really looking forward to having fresh fish. The seating, tables and decor were nice but walking to the restroom was a little scary! Once you walked to the back you had to go down a hallway then through doors into a stairwell and up a couple flights of stairs to the restroom. It was secluded and scary.

Taste = 4 stars, Pricing = 2-3 stars In terms of flavor, the food is good and tastes fresh, but the prices are too high! I've been here a few times, but I haven't really found anything that makes Blue C more special than other sushi places. They do have a few specialty rolls, but the fact that they're priced at $5 - $5.50 for four pieces has prevented me from even trying them. The least expensive plates are $2.00, which are mainly veggie rolls and edamame. California Roll is $2.50 for four pieces and the prices increase from there until hitting the max of $5.50. This time, my table ordered the calamari and tempura veggies (made to order). I would have liked to see a lighter coating of batter on both items as well as more of a panko breading on the calamari. They tasted fine, but I probably wouldn't order them again. However, I do enjoy the chicken katsu here! The service is good. The friendly staff constantly walks around and checks with you multiple times. They're also pretty quick at cleaning the tables and seating guests during the lunch rush.

Just fine for grabbing a bite while shopping at Bell Square. Avoid the Spam Roll. It was gross. The V 8 Roll was also not so delish. The pureed edamame with chips was yummy. Not fantastic sushi, but just fine.

  • Jason J.

Be careful with this place! Ambiance - let's say modern, japanese-esque Service - OK Food - nothing special at all. I mean NOTHING. Price - Over priced for what it is....5.50 for plate of 4 pcs specialty sushi...and it ain't that special.

Let me just say worst Happy Hour ever. They advertise happy hour all night Thursday 4-close so I thought it would be a good time to try it. The happy hour is only upstairs in the bar and not downstairs. There is no sushi belt you have to order everything. There are only about 5 things that count and most are 25 or 50 cents off. You can only order the california roll, shrimp tempura roll, seattle roll, salmon roll, or salmon nigiri. The food was ok nothing amazing but not bad. The best item was the calamari (not included in happy hour pricing). Maybe try this place if you are ok to pay full price but the happy hour is a joke and should be avoided.

OMG. Why am I here? Because me and my kids have to be a across the street at the movie theater in 45 min and Red Robin had a wait... at 5pm! So we had to quickly find the nearest place we could with no wait and Blue C was empty. Where is an Eastside Dicks when you need it!? I cringed walking in knowing I was about to get bent over. In 25 years of eating sushi all over the greater Seattle area this gets my vote for the poorest value. And that's sayin' somethin' considering it's a conveyor place! Welcome to Bellevue Square dining! Cheapest two plates are $2 and $2.50 but they have only two or three (lame) sushi items on the menu at that price and they rarely appear. Otherwise be prepared to pay regular sushi prices for measly conveyor belt portion sizes and mediocre quality. 4-piece California roll $3.25 but if you want spicy sauce in your CA roll it's a $4 plate! That's some expensive Siracha! Two measly small/thin see-through pieces of salmon nigiri, $4.50. LOL AND CRY OUT LOUD. Oh well. When you're desperate you're desperate. I see Boom Noodle next door is closed. I wouldnt be sad to see Blue C replaced also. I vow to never come back unless for happy hour in the bar I would do if desperate. There are so much better options in the area such as Sushi Maru 3 blocks away, Sushiland 5 blocks away (almost half the price but pretty ghetto inside), and if you want top notch, pay a little more for 3 times better/bigger product at Ginza in Old Bellevue. This place has to be surviving off people in a desparate situation like me or uninformed shoppers/diners with money burning a hole in their pocket.

Not the best sushi I've had. However, it's not bad for what it is - a fun atmosphere, great location, and super convenient. Also, it's great for kids.

Blue C Sushi used to be my go to destination for sushi when on business travel in Bellevue. I loved the concept of sampling lots of different dishes at various and reasonable price points, all delivered directly to my seat via conveyor belt. It's been two years since I've visited, and I definitely noticed a significant difference. For one, they've expanded the price tiers, but most of the sushi plates now sit at the top end of the price spectrum, so expect to pay more if you want to sample a lot of different sushi rolls. The ratio of fish to rice is definitely leaning more towards rice. They used to offer a wider offering of fusion type dishes, which is no longer the case, although they do offer more desserts now. Somewhat disappointing, as this used to be one of my favorite dining destinations in Bellevue.

Over priced and the worst sushi that I've ever tried from a restaurant. The rolls are not rolled tightly enough and, even though I love cream cheese, the variety overwhelmingly contained cream cheese filled sushi. Even for me. Price-wise, everything should be 50% less; I think their most expensive sushi is $5.50 a plate and not very impressive to the palate. The weirdest plates that they have (aside from the cupcakes) are the tuna BLT roll and, I think its called, the red dragon roll. This is definitely not a great authentic Sushi restaurant if you are looking for one.

This place was recommended to me multiple times and when a business partner suggested we meet here, I took her up on the offer. Bad decision. I should have trusted the yelp reviews. When we entered (a few weeks back on a Thursday evening) the place was empty - that should have been my clue. The waitress was very friendly and nice and offered us a table based on our preference. As I just moved to Washington, I had never been to a sushi boat and wanted to sit by the conveyor belt. Since the place was empty, I am not sure how long the sushi had been on the conveyor. I first tried the avocado roll, and just grabbed the plate when it came by without seeing the rolls first. The avocados were brown and bruised, not appealing to look at at all. I thought I would play it safe and order a roll off the menu since then it would have to be prepared fresh. While there was nothing "wrong" with the roll, the rice didn't taste right. After about 3 rolls, the rice was not settling well with my stomach and I decided to stop eating. Sure enough, as soon as I left the place, I could not keep the sushi down. A quick dash to the mall bathroom saved me from puking on myself. Not sure if it was an off night for them, or something wrong with that batch of rice, but I will play it safe and not go back. Maybe next time visit when there are other patrons? FYI - my business partner seemed to be fine when we parted.

I came here for happy hour with my coworkers. They have some pretty good deals for both food and drinks. I had the mojito with shiso leaves, and it was pretty good. I also ordered some potstickers and some sushi. The sushi here isn't bad, but if you're looking for amazing sushi, this is not the place. But if you're looking for a quick lunch, this is the place, since this is a conveyor belt sushi spot. Rolls like their crunchy rolls are pretty tasty.

  • Tiffany B.

I totally loved this place. I was in a rush to grab something for lunch while visiting the area and didn't want to have a sandwich or smoothie. I liked that this place gave you the option to pick various items off the conveyor belt and make your own special to go container. It was fresh and delicious.

  • Jessica S.

This is one of those places I want to like more than I do. It's got a nice atmosphere and decor, and the conveyor belt sushi thing is fun. But for whatever reason, I find that more often than not, I am just watching the exact same food go around in circles, with nothing new or appealing coming out. Yes, you can order direct from the kitchen, which I've done, but it seems to take forever when I order that way. I wouldn't mind this if it had compelling pricing, but the bill is usually higher than I expect. It's fun once or twice but there are better values and tastier menus out there.

This is a rating for the chicken Katsu, the potato Katsu, the gyoza and the desserts. I went as part of a big group and as a non-fish-lover was pleasantly surprised by the variety and taste of non fish items. It was very clean and nice and the ambiance was great for either a big group of booths in a row or a more intimate encounter for 2. It was fun watching the picky eating kids in the group happily chomping on new things they liked. Pricing is not low, but neither is rent in Bellevue square. If you need to consume a 4000 calorie meal.. you'll spend less money elsewhere like Claimjumper; huge portions are not the gimmick. Taste is. However, question yourself whether you need a 4000 calorie meal. Normal size eating is not terribly expensive.

So... I'm going to give Blue C a double bump because they turn out to have one of the better all day Thursday Happy Hours, in their upstairs lounge. With a bunch of decent discounted sushi on the menu and very affordable drinks ($3 sapporo on tap and $3 hot sake) it turns out to be a really great place to watch Thursday night football. They even have the sound on for you. Pretty good!

Looked really cool and went in with friends during their happy hour. We ordered like 12 different rolls because we were starving. We sat upstairs so we didn't have to wait for a spot to be open on the conveyer belt area (which is just a novelty anways). I got to say, this must be the worst sushi place in Bellevue. Drinks: watered down and weak Sushi: overstuffed and packed tight with rice, others were packed poorly and falling apart (i.e. inside out rolls were tearing from the weight of the rice walls). The rolls just seemed to be made for speed rather than quality. Rice seemed like it was just made in a rice cooker without mirin/vinegar, rolls weren't shaped well (very lumpy, inconsistent). Service - got the wrong order, so we were missing a roll. A lot of the sushi tasted really dry, so I think they gave us old sushi from the conveyer belt, so beware if you're sitting upstairs. Not planning to come back.

I don't eat seafood but I do enjoy the atmosphere of sushi places. Anyways I've always wanted to try this place and my boyfriend and i dropped by and now I know why I've always heard bad things. Appearance wise this place does well. The food is played nice and the restaurant itself is modern and clean. That's it though, food was not great and my boyfriend asked if we could leave to go somewhere else ( he loves seafood and was highly disappointed). Anyways save your money it's highly overpriced here for mediocre food.

If you're looking for a fun place to go with kids and don't care about spending mega $ for mediocre Sushi, then this is your place. In all fairness, they do have a primo location next to Bellevue Square which makes it convenient for people going to the nearby movie theater. But still I would expect better quality food from a place with such high prices. By the way, I did in fact go with my kids and I'm sure they would have given it a much higher rating but I paid the bill...sorry Blue.

Place is very clean and looks very nice. Good layout. Sushi isn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Along with some sushi, I ordered teriyaki chicken. Didn't come with any rice at all which I found a little odd, so I tracked down our server and asked for rice and got a small bowl which was considered a side order. Teriyaki was average as well. This place is spendy for what you get. There was 4 of us and a 7 year old. One of us didn't eat hardly anything. The other two women ate light: 1 dragon, spider, salad, and spicy California each. I shared a California and the smoked tuna with cream cheese one (drawing a blank) plus my teriyaki chicken. Child had California and shared pot stickers and a shrimp roll. Bill was $90...so you tell me it's worth it. Oh, forgot the 7 year old had a root beer. We just had waters. Bottom Line: you will be fine if you're not expecting much. but if you are...better find somewhere else.

Marginal sushi from the rotating thing. We ordered from the menu and the sushi was awesome. Good beer. Bad atmosphere.

Imagine walking into a sushi restaurant blindfolded with a dining companion. You're told that it's a conveyor belt sushi system, and your companion grabs some plates off the conveyor, serves you a side of miso, and you begin eating. While eating, you think to yourself "Ehh, the sushi is ok. Nothing worth writing home about. The miso tastes pretty instant." You start narrowing down the possibilities about where you are, mentioning Sushiland and Genki as good contenders. You're not too miffed though, because after all, you get what you pay for, and your bill will be very reasonable for the quality/quantity sushi you ate. Then the server comes over with the bill, and your companion tells you the total. It's at this point that you have eliminated all other possibilities except one - Blue C Sushi. How'd you figure it out so quickly? Probably from the partial vomit that comes up when you fear your credit card will get rejected due to the horrid price of the bill. For those dining in Bellevue and consider Blue C as a convenient place to stop and eat, ask yourself whether you could use that same money to go to Bellevue Square buy a stereo system from Bose, a new phone (retail price, not contract) and a full meal from World Wraps for about the same amount. Hyperbole aside, don't waste your money here when you could be getting very similar sushi at Sushi Maru just a couple blocks down. In my opinion, they even offer a better variety with WAY more reasonable prices to offer. Thank you, my friends.

Far from the best sushi of the East side, let alone all of Seattle. Portions were on the pricey side yet small and quality was average. Service was fast and friendly though and the pork dumplings were good and complimented well with the onions. Overall for a quick bite of sushi, you won't be unhappy but if you have time there are certainly better alternatives

I always walk by Blue C Sushi and am always tempted to dine there because of the fancy decor but I KNOW the food is not worth the price! Every time I convince myself to give them another try I always leave disappointed. ALWAYS! A couple days ago was my final time going. I walked by and saw that they had a happy hour sign for $3 sushi and so I decided to go because I never knew they had HH. I was seated and asked about the HH, turns out it is only valid upstairs in the bad. First of all, I didn't even know this location had an upstairs bar. Second, the sign was totally misleading because it didn't indicate it was only in the bar. Third, just a personal tip: if smaller sushi restaurants can have amazing HHs I'm pretty sure you guys can/should invest in it too. Nobody cares for the Asian videos being projected on the wall or the fact that you have a buzzer for when customers need you. Stop being fancy because it's only keeping you from moving forward as a company!

  • Tami H.

I used to be a huge Blue C fan -- it is great with young kids, super fast, and good variety of sushi and other items. I know they have made some menu changes but the last 2 times the food really has gone downhill, and portions have been reduced as prices have gone up. The Katsu dishes have especially gone downhill. And the sushi is not flavorful -- including the "spicy" plates which are not spicy at all. They also seem to have reduced the number of pieces per plate, while also raising prices. Overall, Blue C is a great concept, with great locations, good service, and a fast bite with kids... but I might need to find another fast-service place near the mall given the price/quality/value equation has suffered so much recently.

  • Joan H.

I can say that the interior is nice. Had a nice look to it. But all that stuff doesn't really matter if your food pricing is ridiculous. I ate here before and I'm not coming back. The bill was pretty expensive for two people. It came down to 40-50 dollars. I know there's better deals on way better sushi than this place... It's not worth it...

    (2)
  • Tony L.

$120. For three people. For lunch. For conveyor-belt sushi. We stopped by here on Easter afternoon since our first choice was closed. The place was half-filled so we got sat right away. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and I like having the blue service button at each table. We had a lot of different dishes and ordered a couple of more from the menu, but I was really surprised when we got the bill (and then I noticed the pricing chart on the wall). Here are some examples: Two pieces of shrimp sushi (orange plate): $4 Two pieces of scallop sushi (special order): $6 For these prices, I would rather go to a regular sushi restaurant.

    (2)
  • N G.

Disappointing take-out; the tuna sashimi is so thinly sliced you can see through it (both yellow fin and albacore) at $5 for 3 pieces it's a rip-off. The rolls are tightly packed mostly with rice of varying clumpiness, with very little substance. Wouldn't recommend.

    (1)
  • Donovan T.

$25 later I was unimpressed with the quality (think grocery store to-go sushi) and I was still so hungry I had to stop somewhere else so I could get through the rest of the day. You're better off getting lunch at McDonald's.

  • Lily L.

Perhaps I'm being friendly about my rating, but from when I last first ate here three years ago, I have to say it's a little better and business seems to have picked up since. I'm unsure if it's due to the Bellevue residents or the convenience it provides to it's newly young Microsoft audience, but when I went again for a meet up, it was packed. The menu has changed and there are more cooked foods on the conveyor belt, which is great for those who don't want to eat too much raw foods. I have always been amazed by the giant wall situated above the conveyor belt where a projector plays videos about Japan's culture and the wall art is cute, but good conveyor belt sushi, this place is just okay. After having eaten at some of the noteworthy Japanese restaurants in Seattle, conveyor belt sushi is simply for convenience, not satisfaction.

  • Tricia H.

Lousy lousy service. Why did we even try and eat here? We should have just stuck with Sushiland. We tried to eat light, as the prices are outrageous. Food was just okay, but the service was abysmal. We couldn't get water. We couldn't get more water. We couldn't get our bill. When we finally got our bill, it wasn't ours. More waiting for the one waitress to come back with the right bill. Seriously thought about just walking out at that point - clearly they didn't want our money. Sigh... Never going back.

Sushi was not fresh and very overpriced. But the service is the worst part. The older wrinkled short pudgy brunette in the front was very rude and wait staff was slow and clueless

While there may be some benefit to getting food fast, there is no benefit to getting bad food at any speed short of never. Sushi is an art form and as it is practiced here it is pretty ugly. Compared to other similar establishments in the area it simply doesn't rank and particularly because it is overpriced for what you get. And further the selection doesn't hold a candle to any sort of sushi restaurant, conveyor service or full table service. Not even worth a second chance.

    (1)
  • Lucy M.

I like this place, I do. Especially the atmosphere and concept. But it's overpriced. Sad but true. They raised their prices at some point in the past couple of years and it lost so much of its appeal. Also, when I went at 2 pm most of the conveyor belt was empty. I know I could have ordered something but part of the fun is seeing the food before you taste it!

There's a Safeway about 3 blocks south, save yourself some money and head there if you were looking for sushi. I'd say it was borderline 1-2 stars, the only reason I will add the extra star is that I server was nice but had a hard time fielding very simple questions... Questions like, do you have fried rice. If you didn't want a Husky Roll, Spicy California roll or Red Dragon roll than you're SOL. If you wanted something other than salmon, albacore tuna or scallops, you're SOL. It's fine if you want cupcakes, a cookie or brownie bites, there was plenty of that to chose from. We had our 21 month old son with us so I grabbed the Chicken Katsu. Not only was it dry but it was pretty darn tough for me to eat (texture wise) let alone my son. Normally when you go out, you eat until your appetite has been satisfied. During my recent and most likely last visit to Blue C, that wasn't the case. After three plates (2 nigiri and half a roll I split with my wife) I called it quits and said I'll just have the rest of my dinner at home. Seriously folks, there are several alternatives within 5-7 block of here.

What is it with this place and their prices?? Made it here for dinner yesterday with my bestie and walked up to the counter, she asked how many people and we say 'two' and noted that we would like a booth instead of counter seating. We were told it would be a short wait, sure. 10 minutes later, we were told our seats are ready...it was counter seating. My bff was starving so we took the seats even though honestly we could have used the table space of a booth to go over some client paperwork, which was why we asked for a BOOTH to begin with! Oh well, I guess that's too bad. Life goes on. We started our order with a combo sashimi ($15) and we both wanted green tea...bestie wanted hers hot and I wanted mine iced. When it arrived, both were hot except that I was given a glass of ice. Weird that I had to do it myself but sure, I guess? The sashimi arrived and I damn near lost my mind - two small cubes of each: salmon, tuna, hamachi and another whitefish (tilapia?) with a smidgen of ikura. Are you kidding me!?!?! Both my bestie and I looked at each other in disbelief over how small the portion was for $15. We could have literally just eaten the fish from the top of the nigiri sushi, which was a piece twice the size of their sashimi cut!! We both shared spinach gomae, octopus sashimi, seared tuna (unbelievably spicy, what happened to the normal seared tuna that used to exist there?), salmon teriyaki, ceviche roll and the forementioned sashimi. The total amount for the night?? $60!! Yeah, screw you Blue C Sushi...maybe before charging $15 for a sashimi plate, make sure the cuts are bigger than what you can simply snatch off the top of a nigiri, which was cheaper by the way.

Went here while on vacation from California. We we're there in time for happy hour and ordered miso soup and three different rolls. The rolls we're served quickly however there we're only 4 pieces per roll, I usually get 8 or so in an order in CA. The soup was delicious and there we're plenty of big tofu pieces.

Like taste of Sushi but service is really bad. Had to wait for a roll for more than 20 mins and after 2 reminders. There was no apology even after we left without waiting! Ridiculous.....

Blue C is okay. A friend and I were scrambling for time trying to get something quick(ish) to eat before hitting a show over at The Parlor. Everywhere was packed with a wait except Blue C. I've been to other locations and always think it's okay so I wasn't expecting to be blown away. It was exactly what I expected- average food, average prices. $15 pre-tax and tip for 2 draft beers, a small plate of noodles, the Chicken Katsu, and a Seattle roll. Still kind of expensive for happy hour in my opinion for how small the portions are. The Katsu was small and pretty dry. For $3 for 3 tiny pieces of chicken at happy hour I would hope for a bit better. I won't be running back but Blue C is fine in a pinch.

Apart from the fact that you can start eating as soon as you take your seat (anywhere around the "conveyor belts"), there really isn't anything that I liked about this restaurant. The food is no better than sushi from the grocery and is of course more expensive maybe due to the fact that having tiny plates of sushi riding a carousel costs money. Apart from the carousel attraction, I wouldn't recommend trying this restaurant.. Just my opinion..

I love sushi and I have tried all kinds. Blue C sushi is not fancy, and if you are a sushi purist, you won't like it at all. But it's clean and fresh and makes for an efficient and inexpensive (if you mind the plate colors and don't go too crazy) lunch. And I appreciate that they make the effort to include and label gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. I tried the vegetable tempura roll today and I was pleasantly surprised. Other options miss the mark, like a pickled cucumber salad - tasted fine, but there was just too much and it was on the pricier side for a pile of cucumber. Most things hover just around satisfyingly mediocre, and sometimes I'm really okay with that. If I had to order these items from a menu and they were more expensive, I would like Blue C much less, but I enjoy conveyor belt sushi; I think it's fun. Blue C is the closest option to my workplace, so Blue C it is. Maybe not the most glowing review, but neither is it the most damning.

Supermarket-quality sushi at exorbitant prices. I visited Blue C one evening when I was pinched for time, with about 15 minutes to grab dinner before a movie started. Looking at Bellevue Way, I determined my options were: (a) A pre-wrapped sandwich from Starbucks (ugh) (b) Sushi at Blue C (yikes) (c) A hot dog at Dog in the Park (really?) Unfortunately, I chose sushi at Blue C. The sushi here is like supermarket sushi, only smaller in size and more expensive. Rolls are half-sized (4 pieces). The nigiri are mostly tuna and salmon. Plates start at $4, tricking you into thinking you're getting a good deal. But 3 plates later, I was out $20, and I was still very hungry. I added a few more plates but was nagged by the thought, "These guys are laughing all the way to the bank." I would have done better at the RiceNRoll in Bellevue Square. As a great president once said, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again!"

Good variety of rolls. Also decent selection for non sushi eaters. Green served via tea bag. Need to fix this and have tea served in a pot.

I can not believe the sushi eaters of Bellevue allow Blue C Sushi to stay in business. Their sushi is too EXPENSIVE for what they offer. The prices were high before, but they seemed to have gone up AGAIN. $40.00 for one person?? for belt sushi?? Almost $5.00 for one plate of Sake (salmon sushi). Are you kidding?? The prices on their website DO NOT reflect what is being charged at this restaurant. The last 2 times I've been there, they've put me at the end of the row and was ignored until I had to flag someone down for a beverage. I've had the same experience at the University Village location. There are so many other MUCH BETTER OPTIONS for better tasting sushi with friendlier service and MUCH lower prices. Where do I start...try: Sushi Land, Sushi Maru, Ginza or I Love Sushi (1.3 miles down NE 8th) or even the expensive (but definitely worth it) Flo if you want a MUCH BETTER and delicious sushi experience.

I went back here (this time for lunch) and had a very positive experience this time. Service was way better (different staff, but maybe better trained & also maybe lunch hour's better?), almost all the ingredients I tried were much better - night & day compared with what I tried on a late evening (9:30pm-ish) during my first visit. Tuna, mackerel, yellowtail were all excellent. Spicy tuna, in my mind, was still way too spicy, overpowering the flavor of tuna. Uni was also mediocre, not as fresh either. I found out that their Fremont location is the original one, so I should definitely try that one very soon. The fact this location improved quite a bit on my 2nd visit tells me that maybe my first visit was because they were so new in Bellevue Square at that time... I also walked around the upstairs space after lunch, and seems to be a good venue for a work group event.

Ugh. I won't really go into the atrocious service (server forgot our water, couldn't answer basic questions, brought me a roll with raw tuna in it when I specifically told him I couldn't eat anything uncooked)... What really grossed me out about this place was the lack of cleanliness. Sushi is served up conveyor belt style - on plates with clear plastic bowls covering up the food. I noticed a lot of grubby fingerprints on the plastic lids as the sushi was going around. Turns out Blue C doesn't wash these between uses. I witnessed the busboys wiping these out with a rag (the same rag used over and over again, mind you) and then handing a huge stack over to the assembly line, where they were promptly put into re-use. Sanitary? Not so much. Now hopefully this was just a method employed on a busy Friday night to save some time, or perhaps laziness getting the better of someone, but I won't be going back to find out. Given that the sushi itself is pretty average, I'd rather take my wallet and my stomach elsewhere.

Miso soup either came out of a packet, or it came out of a pot that had been cooked earlier that day. Either way, no thanks. Not to be outdone, the Udon was just as bad. And the sushi was, well, whatever. I'm tired of the conveyor belt crap that is over priced only because it comes at me on a belt. I've eaten better from Cosco.

I like Blue C for lunch. This is not the best sushi I've ever had (if you're going for pure quality, try I Love Sushi down the street). Some things are better made to order--like cooked fish. The unagi (seared eel nigiri) tasted like it had taken too many trips around the track. But service is friendly, and prompt, and the prices are reasonable, most dishes are delicious, and the ambiance is fun and modern. They are very family friendly, and parking is free and plentiful.

Let's make one thing perfectly clear - I love sushi. Actually I'm very fond of all Japanese cuisine but sushi has a special place in my heart that it has held for over twenty years. I take it very seriously. I not only eat it, I study it's history, etiquette, and the techniques that go into making it in order to understand it more thoroughly so that I can enjoy it even more when I eat it. Needless to say, I am rather particular about the sushi I eat and where I eat it. That said, I was immediately impressed with Blue C Sushi. Not a traditional sushi bar, Blue C is a kaiten sushi establishment. In kaiten style restaurants, the different offerings are made in advance and travel along a conveyor belt that weaves its way through the guest seating area. At Blue C, they have a large belt surrounded by both booths and bar-style seating, and a smaller belt surrounded by an elevated bar-style seating area. Both offer the same selection; however if something desired is missing from the belt any of the servers are more than happy to get it from the other one, or the chefs that staff both areas will be pleased to prepare an order on the spot. The staff, from the chefs to the servers, is wonderfully friendly and helpful - far more casually so than in more traditional sushi bars. Servers make sure to ask guests they don't recognize (there are quite a few regulars) if they have ever been to this type of restaurant before, and pleasantly explain how it works should they respond that this is their first time. As for the quality and selection of the sushi, it is quite good indeed. All the traditional items are available (the only things common in U.S. sushi bars that I didn't see on the belts was uni (sea urchin); even less common traditional offerings such as surf clam and chu-toro were available. In addition to sushi, there are also small plates of other items such as sesame noodles, spinach in sesame sauce, shrimp tempura, and gyoza. Noodles in broth as well as miso soup can also be ordered form the servers. dessert selections include the traditional green tea ice cream, different flavors of "Tokyo Sweets" cream puffs, and my favorite, mochi ice cream balls (try the combination of green tea and red bean - delicious!). I have now visited Blue C many times and have yet to be disappointed. I intend to return at every opportunity. It's simply a wonderful place to eat, relax, and enjoy life. Like their motto encourages - "eat sushi, smile more."

Went to check out the new Blue C location in Bellevue Sqaure and was totally blown away. We've been pining for delicious cheap sushi in the Bellevue area and this hit the spot. Went for happy hour and paid a ridiculously low sum for a fantastic meal. The bar staff were super-friendly and helpful as well. The wife had a "Flirtini" and said it's one of her favorite cocktails ever, while I had some Mac & Jack's African Amber (which they had on tap). Cannot recommend highly enough!

I have been trying multiple conveyor belt sushi places but i keep coming back to Blue C. I believe they have the best price/quality ratio and I am happy with service as well. Try the seared salmon sushi- it's the best.

I am usually post reviews that are positive, and up until now Blue C has been a place to visit for something quick and fun. But I will not be returning to Blue C in Bellevue again. After the Super Bowl me and a girl friend of mine wanted some quick happy hour. Blue C happy hour runs on Sundays from 4-930pm, and we got there at 8pm. When we walked in the door, we told the woman that we were there for some happy hour and asked if we should go up to the bar or if we were able to sit downstairs, we were informed that they decided to close the bar and not do happy hour at all because it was slow.......it was honestly the oddest thing, since the whole downstairs was busy and open. This is not a way to run a business.

Service here was excellent and we were seated right away. The quality of sushi was above average...well considering that I eat mostly at sushiland haha....the nigiri pieces were huge! The slices of every fish were probably two to three inches long each!....the prices however.....kind of ridiculous....seriously three bucks for nigiri? 5 dollar plates? 6 dollar plates? I don't plan on coming here often. First time and probably second or third to last. Not because I dislike it for its quality or service...but because my bill came out to be in the 30s for what I would usually pay 17-20 at any other conveyor belt sushi joint. Also for 30+ bucks u could easily get this kind of sushi plus tons of other hot seafoods at plenty of all you can eat seafood buffets such as mandarin buffet or main japanese. Good experience but I'll pass!

  • Mary L.

I like that place and was there many times. Always tasty, and so various menu! My favorite is Spider Rolls. One thing - they have no fresh or great selections of juices. That's sad. But their green tea is good!

    (4)
  • Loo M.

SO EXPENSIVE! $6 for a HALF ROLL? I can get a delicious huge roll for $9 at my favorite sushi place. Why would I possibly pay that much for conveyor belt sushi that has been sitting there for an hour? They're also always understaffed, so the service is good when it comes by, but that isn't very often. The sushi also tasted off when we were eating it, and we both felt really sick afterward. I used to go to Blue C all the time, but their prices are WAYYY too high now. The conveyor belt is also only stocked with the highest price dishes with only one or two types of the cheaper dishes. I will never ever be going back.

I went here quite a few years ago and they would not allow us to take any pictures, I remember them being quite rude about it too. However, we all thought the ambiance was cool and the sushi was tasty. Not blown away though.

This place is a freaking joke!!! Small serving sizes with prices that rival a 5 star restaurant! Yes, you get your food very quick since it's coming by on a belt but for the prices they charge you'd think you'd get more to eat. 4 plates with 3 pieces each set me back nearly $30! And the service is HORRIBLE! 10 min to get a glass of water followed by nearly 20 minutes just to get the check!! There are MUCH better belt sushi places in Bellevue, like Sushi Maru or Sushiland. This place is trying to hard to be trendy and it's 15 minutes are up!

  • erik s.

I like the fact that we can sit down and start eating without having to order food and wait 15 mins, which is an eternity with 3 young kids. So if you want quick in and out with kids, and have a decent sushi meal, this is a good place to go.. and you can also try Boom Noodle if they are busy.

The absolute worst sushi experience I have ever had. Usually a bad restaurant experience is forgotten shortly thereafter, however many hours later, my family and I are still left with a lingering gut-wrenching awful feeling that pretty much ruined our evening. 1. The half-filled ikura gunkan was so overly drenched in mirin that the rice fell apart, leaving a puddle of alcohol tasting mess. 2. The rice was mushy and fish slices were unbelievably small and cold. 3. The tea (not free) was flavorless. 4. The soy sauce was watered down. (Why??) However, what completely left my family and I furious, was how unexpectedly overpriced the bill came to be. I've eaten good/bad expensive/cheap sushi, and this byfar was the most unacceptable sushi experience I have ever had in my life growing up as a Japanese. If the sushi was good, then a bill this large would've been expected and I would've been happy to pay, however the price did not at all match up to how low of quality the meal was. I can only describe our communal attitude leaving the restaurant as that of a scam; being left greatly distraught and unsatisfied. I do not recommend this restaurant for how overly-price and unsatisfactory their sushi is. Note: The service was fine and a waitress was sympathetic to our situation.

Blue C sushi is a step above Sushi Land, but an expensive one. I didn't mind coming here once and a while because the sushi isn't that bad for a conveyor belt place. My most recent visit pretty much made me want to never come back, though. First off, they REALLY raised the prices! Spicy tuna is like $5.25! Then, the spicy tuna I happened to get tasted disgusting. It was extremely fishy tasting, and this is gross to say so pardon me, but it tasted the way a used sanitary pad smells that has been sitting in a public bathroom trash. I'm not kidding. The next morning I ended up vomiting. The sushi itself isn't worth the amount you have to pay now. I would rather go to a traditional, sit down sushi restaurant instead.

My husband and I were hesitating about going to this place before movies cuz we've heard bad things about it, but we were like.. meh, let's just eat here. Our chirashi was just a small chunk of rice and very tiny chunks of fishes on top.. it isn't not authentic at all and it's the most expensive one that I've ever had.. The other sushi on the kaiten were just okay either.. I really don't recommend going to this place.

  • Tiffany M.

I have eaten here many times, usually the bill is about $80.00 for a couple to eat and have one drink. The lemon grass lemonade is amazing, the sushi is ok. The fusion side dishes are probably the best part. The baked dessert items are ok by nothing special. Over priced and cold service.

    (3)
  • Amy K.

It might not be authentic, and it might not be the best sushi around, but I have a consistent experience at Blue C. I enjoy the conveyor-style setup and the price seems fair. My favorites are the Seattle rolls and Shrimp Tempura rolls.

  • Miguel T.

Mediocre sushi at very high prices. I'm a fan of conveyor belt sushi joints and am generally tolerable of many places beyond just elite places like Shiro's. I've eaten here twice and am surprised at how much I spend, how little I get for it, and how the little I do get is not impressive.

Note: The online menu is NOT an accurate representation of the menu they have at this Bellevue location. I came here for a private group dinner with friends and we were seated upstairs in the bar that overlooks everyone down below. Great for people watching, it's a nice, private area. Excellent for large get-togethers and when you'd like to have your own event. The sushi is okay. The fish is fresh, but I'd say it's fairly overpriced compared to sushi places in Seattle. However, I suppose you're also paying for the ambience and environment (this is downtown Bellevue after all) -- I guess just keep that in mind. I had the smoked salmon sashimi (YUM), california rolls, avocado + eel rolls, and octopus nigiri. I honestly prefer sashimi to all else, and if you're not well-versed in the world of sushi, feel free to pass up on anything with octopus or squid. The way they are prepared, it has very, very little flavor. Not worth it. They had a wide selection of other foods on their menu, but I left wanting just a little more. They also have a wide selection of drinks, although they pour a little too much ice. Hopefully you're not there to get drunk. I think as other people have mentioned, their prices are really high. I'm a little disappointed since there are better sushi places than this for a better price, but I suppose if you'd just like to stick around Bellevue, it's okay. I don't plan on going back. Sorry!

Came here for dinner with a friend. If your craving sashimi, come here. We were seated quick to one of the booths. One thing that caught my eyes was their service button. This is how it works here: 1) Find the dish you want (anywhere from 2.00 - 5.50) 2) Take it right off the belt before someone else snatches it 3) EAT IT! 4) Stack your plate 5) Press the service button and BOOM you get your bill.

All evening happy hour on a Thursday made this place worth it. Sushi was ok, nothing special.

  • Jay H.

The sushi is decent but the atmosphere is pretty rad. I love the craziness on the huge TV and the cool paintings hanging from the walls. And who doesn't love self-serving themselves from a conveyor belt?! And depending on what colors you eat a person can get out of here for something resembling cheap. I've always had good service here and they always seem so eager to help in anyway they can. I'm a fan!

  • Nate P.

I've had better premade sushi at Uwajimaya and Fred Meyers than this particular sushi joint, I was quite disappointed at the lack of love that seemed to be put into their rolls. If you're looking to try some gourmet sushi rolls I would not attempt it at this Blue C in Bellevue.

    (2)
  • Tim R.

Wayyyyyyyy too expensive. Try some of there competition. Sushiland, sushimaru, genki sushi. If the price was lower, like a lot lower, it would of been better. Quality wasn't that great either.

  • Anna Z.

It is great that you have a wide selection, and they have a gluten free menu as well. The sushi is great, and again, the selection and constantly evolving menu makes coming there always exciting, but you can still reach for your favorites if you want. It makes for a great place to run in for an afternoon snack if you are shopping at Bellevue Square, or dinner with a family. While prices have continued to rise since they first opened, in the past year they have risen dramatically. With every previous price increase a couple cheap items have stayed behind, like cucumber rolls or avocado rolls. Simple, but allowed people to mix the fancier and the more filling. Now, they have raised prices across the board and it is no longer easy to go in without feeling you are paying more than it's worth. The food is still enjoyable, I and I've enjoyed the changes they've been making to the menu, but the price point is getting a little too high for me to justify.

Came hear to check it out and Booo hoo I was disappointed. The price there are crazy and the food is not that great. I walked out and had to pay for my drinks. My drinks cost as much as a dinner at sushi land. I'm goon there.

Went for lunch today and spent 50$ for myself, no alcohol. I thought it was good but I have never seen such small cuts of fish on nigiri. Felt like it was for mini me. Was also a bit disappointed to learn that we had set gratuity because we had 8 people. Our waitress brought water and our check. Hardly worth 18%. Nice place, service, and food, but terrible value. There are too many other places to go to. Will not be back. Check out ginza, flo instead.

I remember when Blue C first waltzed into Fremont after Sushiland had been holding in down in Queen Anne for a while, long before the explosion of kaiten sushi places arrived in every nook and cranny of the greater Seattle area. I remember not being as fond of it because it was the same quality as Sushiland, but more expensive - so I stuck with Sushiland. As Sushiland expanded, I felt like the branching locations went downhill in quality (I hardly get to make it to Queen Anne) but Blue C seems to be okay at keeping their head above water. Nowadays, I can appreciate Blue C for the cleanliness, consistency and presentation, as ridiculous and over-the-top as some of it may seem. As far as kaiten goes, it's not a horrible place to go and it can feed my craving without purging my wallet. Oh! And plus a .5 star for carrying mochi ice cream! I also think having the bar, Nomu (Japanese for "drink"), half above Blue C and half above Boom Noodle is a brilliant idea! Happy hour from both locations at one time? Yes please! If Blue C and Boom Noodle were both at least 4 Yelp-Star worthy, I would definitely visit more often.

  • Dennis D.

Ya gotta be selective here. Just like any other conveyor belt sushi place. Go for the freshly put out stuff for the best bites, or just order it directly from your server to ensure it's fresh. Also, unlike other restaurants, when you go to a conveyor belt sushi place, sometimes it's better to go when it's busy so you can be sure the food turn-over is fast. (You have a better chance of getting something fresh, and less chance of getting something that's made a few laps around the restaurant. Their Gyoza is second only to Boom noodle. (Where BlueC falls short is that they have a pretty standard (boring) dipping sauce.) I'm a fan of their sesame noodles. :-D They're worth a try. ;-p Price range for this place is hard to say since you pay by the item. Each plate is only a few dollars, so your bill depends on how much you eat (or more precise, how much you pull off the belt). More info (SPECIFIC info on individual food items). You can see what items I reviewed there (including pics!): nosh.com/restaurant/7787…

The selection is pretty lame, and the prices are a a bit higher than what I had expected- especially considering the lack of options. I was unpleasantly surprised. The soy sauce bottle at our table leaked all over my clothes, and the server didn't even blink an eye when I pointed this out; nor did he offer to replace the bottle. So we finished off our meal with no soy sauce. Pretty disappointing.

    (2)
  • Jay J.

I don't like this franchise but I wanted to give it a try again at this branch. It was a huge disappointment again. The food had no taste at all, I felt like I was chewing on a ball of mush soaked in soy sauce. And of course, for the quality of the food, it is overpriced. I am slightly picky when it comes to seafood, but still, this place made me upset about what I just consumed and how much I had to pay for it. Never going back there.

Happened to take a friend who is vegan to Blue C Sushi. Impressed by "vegan"/ "gluten free" information card attached to each sushi plate. Friendly sushi chef. We enjoyed our lunch there. Service is ok not great. There were only two servers over about 20 people there. Although it's kind of self-served through the conveying belt, still a bit of wait to get drinks and the bill.

I was here for a happy hour event last week and was impressed with the spread they put out for the event. There was sushi and lots of tempura and chips and dip. The event space upstairs was also nice. I would probably go back for an event again, but I find the Blue C conveyer prices a little too high compared to other decent sushi places around here.

Two stars for variety and taste. Three stars for quality of ingredients. Right. I get that it's conveyor belt. This isn't exactly, like, Katsu-Ya quality, nor are we in Los Angeles, but I always come here expecting a lot more than I end up getting, and I always leave still hungry. Good things: clean, good quality for a conveyor belt place, and service is always great Bad things: The food variety is just "meh" and rather unimpressive. What I'd like to see is a lovechild between Sushiland in flavor and variety and Blue C in service, cleanliness, and quality. All this being said, I will still suggest Blue C as a meeting place for friends, and I will still patron there.

Hands down the worst conveyor belt sushi I have ever had in my life. I'm from Hawaii and we know about Sushi, and this place would not fly here at all. It would go out of business in the first six months. Decor is top notch, food is the worst i have ever tasted. Our hot tea was never refilled we had to ask and here is a kicker. We ordered 4 orders of Spicy Tuna, Only to get JUST the sauce. The cook came by and gave us our order and asked oh what i really wanted was the Spicy Tuna slapped on the rice and Nori. He got our order correct the second time, but then all he did was slap on spicy tuna with the super SALTY sauce on the bottom. Why could he not redo our order with all new rice and nori? I mean rice and nori can not be THAT expensive and esp the prices that were charged. Our tab was almost $60 dollars and i was reluctant to give the minimum 15% tip. i have friends in the service industry and they said you give the 15% and write a note, which I did. I will never be back at blue c sushi ever again. Bad sushi, over priced, Bad service.

Some of the best, freshest, most inventive sushi I have had since I lived in Atlanta! Love the conveyor belt! Also like that they have hot food for people like my BF who are sushi phones. He loved the chicken catsu. Great service and they even special made me two rolls. Oh, BF loved Sapporo on draft having only had it in bottles. You must go. And go to Bellevue!

quality of the sushi is sub par the prices are outrageous and there isn't much in the way of variety, only reason it is not a single star because the service is decent when they actually attend to you and the sushi isn't bad despite the horrible prices. the only thing good about the place is the decor.

I visited Blue C Sushi during a couple of my visits to Bellevue for work. I have also tried a few other sushi restaurants in the area, and found Blue C Sushi to be far superior. All of the sushi on the conveyor belt was fresh and tasty, just like I expected it to be. The service was very friendly and never left my drink dry or plate empty.

What a disappointment! My family and I used to LOVE Blue C at U. Village years ago, so decided we would try the Bellevue locale. While the selections were tasty - the portions have been reduced by half. After we calculated the number of plates and realized we'd spent $45 and were still hungry -- we decided to call it a night. SO disappointing. NEVER going back. Feel like sushi? There are tons of better options than Blue C Sushi.

Don't go here after the dinner rush. I could count the items on the belt with both hands and had fingers to spare. Pitiful selection, and the food I dared to eat was old and scary. I've grown up with sushi, lived in Japan, Hawaii, and all over the main land but never have I been scared to eat the raw fish served in a sushi place for fear it would kill me. I wouldn't risk it folks.

Used to be a big fan - it used to be a decent value for solid quality sushi. Just went there today for lunch and now they've raised prices and changed the menu a bit. I spent $40 on lunch just for myself and I only had like 6 plates of sushi. That would be ok if the quality was as good as it used to be, but that's not the case! Spicy tuna roll has cheaper quality, pale pink tuna instead of the nice, rich redder tuna they used to serve, and it wasn't even spicy! In general I found the food to be rather bland. Will likely not go there much anymore and save my sushi experiences for real sushi restaurants where I know I"ll get much better quality for a similar price.

Used to like Blue C a lot but it is now too expensive for the quality, quantity, or environment. Better bang for your buck almost everywhere sushi is served. I post this hoping they go back to what they were valued for: Decent quality, reasonable expense, and cafeteria style eating. I spent $45 on lunch and tea and I didn't eat excessively.

Pretty tasty for a sushi train restaurant, Cool interior with good service. A little pricey but overall happy sushi experience!

It's a good quick bite, but the menu is pretty static and the service is hit-or-miss. I would avoid the Udon noodle soup--the broth is almost straight-up soy sauce and the noodles are either hard or gluey. Most of the rolls are good, and keep your eye on the chefs to know what's coming up fresh on the belt.

I can get better sushi at Safeway with 1/4 of the price!! I think they have happy hour which is not bad for the price. I would never come back again!

  • Lisa T.

This is review is for happy hour only - which takes place in the lounge area upstairs. It's a nice cool space and we learned you can order off Boom Noodle's menu. Blue C doesn't honor all of Boom's happy hour items...but most of them. So we got some Blue C happy hour sushi, plus a bowl of ramen from Boom. A perfect combo. We opted for the green tea - which is super delicious - rather than a cocktail. Our server was a little slow but he was friendly and acommodating. I think happy hour prices are average, but the quality of the sushi and rolls are quite good.

Cool conveyer belt at bar, I ate upstairs, drank sake, and I have to say that I had some of the best spicy scallop sushi I've ever had. Very fresh tasting. Prices PDG as well.

    (3)
  • Devan L.

I have to agree with many of the other reviews - too expensive for too little sushi and mediocre quality. They charged my wife $2.25 for a cup of green tea! The total for a family of 3 was $80+. This was my last visit. Tuna House or I Love Sushi from now on.

I was expecting a normal Sushi/Japanese restaurant, not the conveyor-belt style. It was quick, and I'm glad I gave it a try during lunch. I'd say it's better than Fred Meyer Sushi togo, but not better than Uijimaya (sp). Of course Uwajimaya gets the best fish in all of the northwest, and sells to the best sushi places, so there's that! and neither have sit down service with cocktails. They should serve the seaweed salad without the rice sushi under it. I should have ordered sashimi, since I am not big on the rice, but the tuna and the yellowtail were good.. the rolls were actually pretty good, and arguably cheaper than you would find at a restaurant, o I guess you get what you pay for. I tried the Spider Roll, Rainbow Roll, Snow Crab Cali roll, and one other that was warm and served with a sweet sauce. I think perhaps they should reduce the price per plate, raise the quality, or quantity to make this venue more successful.

I'm not sure what's happened to Blue C Sushi. This used to be a great place to go to get some good, basic sushi at reasonable prices. Maybe the novelty has worn off finally, but I find this restaurant (as well as the others in the area) to be boring and expensive. If I'm going to pay these prices, I'm going back to a true sushi joint with fresh-today fish and exciting variety.

  • Misty C.

I am TOTALLY over Blue C sushi now. I really just want to give it one star, but I don't think that is fair because the food is fine, it's just NOT WORTH IT. I like the location. I love to watch the video of Japan stream on the wall. But good grief I should not be spending $30 on kaiten sushi on my own. This place is SO expensive for what you get. I should also mention I have had some pretty bad combinations there. I like that they are trying new things, but I think they should test the rolls a little before they charge $5 a plate. To their credit, the server did tell me if I picked up another roll I disliked she wouldn't charge me for it. Don't waste your money on this place unless you just really need some fast sushi at the mall.

While its location is prime for business, and the freshness of its food is good, overall the whole experience was... ok. I've been here twice so far, both during dinner during the weekdays, and as far as I'm able to tell, the selection of items seem to easily top genki sushi, but lacks in a color selection of maki sushi that Sushi Maru has to offer. So if you prefer to eat more sashimi instead of maki, this is your place to eat. If you like maki more, and a lot more selections, Sushi Maru is for you.

Went on a Friday night around 9 pm. Had great food. I love the fact that they had a GLUTEN FREE MENU!!!! I am and hubby is not. Thank you for considering food allergies. Will be coming back again soon!

Great sushi here. Rather pricey but you really do get what you pay for. I've been to other places that have this little sushi revolving belt thing going on and their sushi always tastes old and rubbery, not the case here. Always fresh and if you want something they haven't put out you can always request it.

  • David C.

Ate here last night, after walking into Palomino and Cheesecake Factory and finding the decibel levels off the charts. At Blue C, you can actually have a conversation with your colleague without having to shout. As first timers encountering the conveyor belt of sushi, we were a bit disoriented. No worries. Danielle, one of the best servers I've ever encountered, was very friendly, and explained we could order a la belt or from the separate restaurant. I'd rate this Blue C four stars but I think the sushi was just OK, not fabulous. Some items on the belt were fresher than others. As a casual dining experience, I'd give it a 4, and would definitely return.

The short: -It's Kaiten Sushi! Hurray! For those that don't know, this means most of the food is premade and you take it off a rotating conveyor belt. The price of the food depends on the color of the plate so you can choose accordingly! -It's really fast if you're alone or with a party of two (I'd avoid a group personally) -The sushi is fine, not spectacular, but don't expect really fancy rolls etc. -The serving staff was nice -It was more than affordable for me to grab a quick dinner alone (about 20 bucks) -And to be totally shallow and have nothing to do with the restaurant really, there is one super cute brunette waitress that works there :) I'd definitely return for another meal here, but if you're looking for specialty rolls and upscale sushi, I'd look elsewhere...

  • Katie B.

I love sushi and this is not the place to go if you love sushi. The sushi had been on the belt for quite a while and you could tell. It was just ok, edible but definitely won't be going back. The service was amazing though. Just need to work on monitoring the time the food has been out.

    (2)
  • c t.

Worst rotating sushi for the price!!! They have changed and not for the better. Tried the udon and it was too sour. The waiter didn't care about us, so we had to push the button more than 3x. Never going back again. There are better rotation sushi places.

Blue C is the perfect place where food is sacrificed for atmosphere. It looks trendy, and has all the signs of a trendy place with TV's and attractive wait staff, but once you eat, you realize it's just an illusion. The decor is pretty nice, and the place is clean. The service staff all look attractive in their mid 20's, so that's all fine and dandy. Once you get some fish though, you'll notice it's quite sub par. The fish is okay, but the rice isn't soft, and when you get rolls, you'll notice right away the lacking quality. It's also priced a bit steep for conveyor belt sushi.

    (2)
  • Jenn O.

I've tried the Blue C in Fremont, Southcenter and Bellevue. The quality is pretty consistent, the food is good but not mindblowing. They didn't have any rolls that made them stand out from some other kaiten places I've tried. I'd say there were right in the middle of the pack and great for a first time kaiten experience. I'd say my favorite things about it are; the clear way they label the food, the hot food has little warmers underneath, there's a button that turns on a light above you indicating you'd like a server to come over.

    (3)
  • JoAnn A.

I honestly don't think this place is too bad, especially for conveyor belt sushi. I don't know of many other places in the area that do the same, and it's great that's it's located right next to the mall. Price wise I think it's a little expensive, and some dishes I've gotten I wasn't all that impressed with, but it's a decent place to go for quick sushi.

    (3)
  • Steven E.

Service was a victim of the food and drink. If only this was as good as the only ok sushi off the conveyor belt; the spring roll wraps were like card board. The calamari was Costco special. The rolls were uninspired. Why bother? Meh.

    (2)
  • Alice C.

I don't expect much from Kaitens and this restaurant is no exception. The price quality equation is slight off balanced, leaning towards the pricier side. What I find interesting is that the sushi staff, from time to time, takes a plate off the conveyor belt only to put the same plate back on the conveyor belt, but somewhere else. This is to give the illusion that they are consistently putting out new sushi. Just watch them next time you go in. Very coy.

If you are a sushi snob, then Blue C may not be your speed. However, as far as conveyor belt places go, the Bellevue Blue C location has great service and a pretty wide selection of items. Plenty of nigiri on the belt, you can place an order for sashimi or hand rolls with your server. I also liked their version of Miso soup, plus you get a very generous portion. A few items that can use improvement: - Low sodium soy sauce should be on the tables along with the regular version. - A few items on the belt looked old, and should not be served. When nigiri such as Maguro is left out for too long it turns the flesh of the fish a grayish color, because the rice absorbed all the moisture from the fish. It is still perfectly safe to eat, BUT it looks wrong and doesn't have the right texture. This is still a great option for a quick, inexpensive refuel stop on your next shopping spree.

Very poor service. We had to literally shout out loud to have water and forks served to us. The food is okay and have had better sushi. The salmon teriyaki was the best and very well grilled. Really enjoyed that. Too many people and servers are not enough or efficient.

Horrible. Sushi is not fresh and sits for roughly 2 1/2 hours before it is freshened up. I went here with my niece , since we were in search of the best conveyor belt sushi place in town. She is only 10 but quite the sushi connoisseur. We went in and the place seemed deserted. It was Friday afternoon. We grabbed a shrimp tempura roll and it tasted like cardboard. So I asked one of the servers if we could get something fresher. She said this was fresh and had only been out for about an hour. Well I was shocked thinking that was way too long. But she informed me that they were legally required change every 3 hours but that they did better by changing every 2 1/2 hours. Well the taste reflects their high standards.. yuck.

I've never been a huge fan of Blue C Sushi but they filled me up when I was starving at 11 p.m. on a Saturday night and when Boom Noodle failed to stay open. We had to order directly off the menu since they were closing soon which was totally fine with me. I got a salmon roll, yakisoba, spider roll and some sesame noodles. The salmon roll and noodle dishes were average. The most delicious dish was the spider roll. It really hit the spot for me. The tempura crust was still crunchy and everything tasted very flavorful. Big plus that it was open late but I'd still prefer real, authentic sushi than the sushi train kind.

This used to be my favorite "fast food" sushi place -- until they shortened their menu and upped their prices -- too bad, it would have gotten 5 stars. The reason I'm not giving it less than these 3 is because they do have their happy hour upstairs which is decent.

I love sushi! First time i checked out this place when i friend decided to take me here on a saturday afternoon. Interior: Nice and quiet. We sat around the sushi bar thing where all the sushi was going around and around. I like the ambience as it was quiet and had a peaceful setting. Food: Sushi was ok, not the freshest ive tasted since i am a sushi hunter. I had bigger also. There was desert, appetizers, and a lot of sushi rolls (both simple and specialty) Price: The price of each dish was color coded which amounted to the corresponding price. So you stack em up and pay for the amount of food you eat. Spent about $20 per person. I guess its a good place to go during happy hour. I love sushi

Worst sushi all around. Bad service, order was wrong 3 times, waitress and chef argued in front of us was informed we were "comped" things we didn't even order. Conveyer belt had 3 different rolls only. Chef made our order when combiner for them, after break, fishes out away etc. horrible experience will never ever go back. Will discourage all others from giving business to this restaurant as well. Wish I could give no stars.

Almost a 3. Almost. For a kaitan sushi place, it was ok. But as a sushi place, it needs work. Let's focus on the good parts. Decor: I actually like the modern clean look. Sleek. Mood lighting. Rather than a big counter paralleling the conveyor belt, there are tables that shoot off. It enables groups to eat together but still pick and choose as sushi plates go rolling by. There is a separate high counter conveyor belt dedicated to those sitting up close and personal. Plates: There are 6 prices to the plates, color coded with Tokyo subway lines (quite creative I thought). The Shinjuku green plates start at $1.50 for items like edamame. Then the prices work up to Hanzomon at $5.25 (like Lobster Roll). Selection: Variety within each category of food wasn't expansive, but variety of categories was actually larger than in other places I've been to in the past. There was a mix of nigiri (tuna, salmon, albore, scallops, etc), rolls (spider, californian, philly, tempura, etc.), vegetarian options (sesame noodles, tofu salad, spinach gomae), hot food items (breaded potato bites, tempura, etc.), and even dessert featuring cream puffs from Beard Papas. That was quite original. Food Quality: Food itself was ok. I can't say that the fish was fantastic but it wasn't bad. And they kept the plates coming so at least there wasn't food lacking. It was just that after a while, we lost interest in what was traveling around and around. But that's usually the case in kaitan sushi. Service: Our waiter was eager and frequently checked on us to refill our hot tea or water glasses. Location: Right in the row of restaurants in Bellevue Square, it is a convenient dining option when you're looking for a breather in a long anticipated shopping trip or simply want something more original than a big chain restaurant. Notables: I like the authentic Japanese fashion magazines available for your perusal while you wait for a seat. They do try for authenticity. I'll give them a "bonzai" to that.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Really bad service and really bad sushi. $4.75 for a bland and rubbery seared shrimp. Our server did not pay attention to anything. How is that place still there? Just go to Genki or Sushiland. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE...

    (1)
  • Kimberly P.

I definitely prefer Blue C over Sushiland, except for the price, but you get what you pay for in this instance. It has a fun vibe inside and the service is always great - love the service buttons at the table =)

  • Mark D.

I like to eat. In fact, I like to eat a lot. And do it fast. For this, assuming I don't come when its jam packed, Blue C Sushi is the best. Its like a buffet...one that you don't have to move to refill your plate. The American dream come true! No, its not the best sushi, but its not completely awful, and it isn't all that expensive either. If I want sushi, I'm particularly hungry & impatient, and don't want to break the bank, this is the place I go.

    (3)
  • Venkat C.

Good place for quick sushi. It's fresh when there are a lot if people. Best time to go is lunch, pretty consistent, food is good. Interesting little conveyor belt on which all sushi dishes are placed.

    (3)
  • Steve J.

Good conveyer belt sushi. But if the place gets busy they are easily overwhelmed. They also don't have spicy tuna.

    (3)
  • Adriana W.

I normally frequent another conveyer belt sushi place, so I was eager to try Blue C. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our seats, and left us sitting with a blue light turned on. Now supposedly this blue light tells the servers that they need to come and help you... like take your drink order or sushi order, etc. It took us about 15-20 minutes to get a server to serve us drinks, and that was only after we got up and walked up to a server to request them. Each time we hit the blue light while we were there, it was never noticed and we ended up having to hail them down anyway. It might be a good idea, but it definitely didn't work well. As for the food, I'm a vegetarian and was happy to have a variety of options, but to be honest, they were bland and average. I liked how they labeled what the dishes were so you didn't have to guess what you were grabbing, and my seafood eating companions felt that although the quality of the fish was good, their sushi was bland as well. Price wise, I guess I'm just used to having the price labeled on the dish itself, so it was a little too easy to grab the expensive plates without thinking about it, but all in all pretty normal prices for a sushi place I think. I won't be coming back. What with the bad service and bland food, it just wasn't worth it. And tip- avoid the cheesecake, the 12 year that was with us tried it, and then we all tasted it and couldn't finish it- cheesecake just shouldn't be mushy. :/

This branch of Blue C is by far the worst location in the Blue C empire. I stop in here from time to time and truly, I don't have high expectations - all I require is that the food be fresh, the people that work there care about standards, and that at peak times being able to pick what I want off the conveyor belt. Unfortunately, the only criteria that Blue C comes even close to achieving a passable grade is on freshness, and even there you are rolling the dice when you take a plate and place it in front of you. The hot dishes are usually cold and greasy and the sushi dishes may or may not have been spinning around the circuit for an inordinately long time. And, truly, the problem here is just standards. No one appears to be in charge of food preparation and so you get situations such as the one where we watched one of the chefs pick up a plate, fumble it, have all the sushi fall off onto the counter, and then simply pick up the jumbled roll and rearrange it back into a sushi-roll-like shape on the plate before putting it out on the belt. And finally, I would say that they keep the conveyor belt 1/2 to 1/3 empty even during peak times. And, yes, you can order something from one of the servers but I attempted to do this and the roll I requested was not forthcoming. The hilarious thing was that 45 minutes after I ordered it, we had paid and were getting ready to leave when suddenly one of the chefs made the same roll I had ordered and put it out on the conveyor belt. The restaurant itself is also not the cleanest place in the world - every surface appears to have a sticky sheen of some sort all over it and the place has that weird sickly sweet sort of smell that I would expect in a candy shop. And to top it all off, the prices are actually pretty expensive for what you get. $4.75 for two tiny vegetable egg rolls? $5.75 for a "special" California roll that just has a little shiso leaf and tuna on top when the regular California roll is half that? Not a very good value for money, and really not worth it if you are just hungry and/or need a sushi fix.

Blue C Sushi is a Washington based, family owned, sushi establishment that continues to be one of my personal favorites. The quality of the sushi is really fresh all around. The Bellevue building has the luxury of the an upstairs lounge which breaks up the feel of the "conveyor belt" style on the first floor. On Thursday nights, the upstairs lounge area will host either karaoke or some sort of trivia event which is entertaining. Having the downtown Bellevue area easily at your disposal, Blue C Sushi is a great way to start your evening and then head over to the "Piano Bash" for a fun night of music. I feel the bad reviews here for Blue C Sushi are from very picky eaters. Of course Blue C is not going to be a "Nobu" but it is not meant to be. They know where they fit in the market and they far exceed their competition.

    (4)
  • Kristy S.

WIth Blue C, you just have to be careful on a few things. If you are sushi regular, you know to LOOK closely at the fish and see if it looks fresh, look at the rolls to decide if there is too much rice, etc. If you are not into sushi normally, you may be hit or miss here. We experienced great scallop nigiri, but not so great salmon. Most rolls were quite delicious, and the spider is my favorite. I was thrown off with the unagi. It looked great, but had a very strange taste. Stay away from their miso - they put this "crispy" tofu on top - it is terrible, and gets soggy. What's the point? We ate VERY well for about $20 each, no booze, just tea & water. A very hip joint with cool, pretty folk as servers.

  • Bye Y.

Internet, hear me now! I am officially swearing off all conveyor belt sushi establishments!! I'm sorry, Genki, you lost your chance when you let us awkwardly stand at the entrance for 3 minutes without acknowledging us. That's a long ass time in customer years. We visited Blue C for lunch on a Thursday. The front decor was sleek and modern, almost to a silly degree. Upon seating, the atmosphere changed into more of a cafeteria. I do like how they labeled all the items that came out. Other places make you guess on sight. Biggest disappointment was that many of the rolls and fried items (e.g. calamari) were much too salty. The basic nigiri was simply ok. I would give them two stars, but I haven't had better conveyor belt sushi. This is best of the worst. Let this fad die already!

    (3)
  • M Y.

OMG!!! I can't believe they raise their price so much. You can even go to fancy restaurant with this price. Very disappointed. For 2 people spent over $50.00 and not even full.

Me and my brother went (yet again) to Blue C in Bellevue last night, and had excellent service from Kayla. Hoorah for her service. Sushi was ok. but they brough everything out at weird times...like..me and my brother both ordered noodles, his came first, then when i was almost done eating, mine came.... Other than that, everything was excellent as always. Love me some Blue C

  • karen c.

This place is just pathetic. I could probably make better sushi than any of the chefs! Food are all pre-made but you can also request for things. Each item are placed on different colour plates. Each colour is a different price ranging from 1.50-5.25. Any special rolls they come up with will be 5.25 for 4 pieces. And trust me, they didn't look appetizing. Fish was definitely not fresh. Everything about this place was just wrong! Waitresses are cocky and rude. Even the worse Vancouver sushi restaurants taste better than Blue C.

    (1)
  • Green A.

Worst sushi place I've ever been. You really have to do something wrong for me to creat a yelp account just to save people from going here. Horrible costumer service, nothing special about the food and they seem to like to "accidentally" overcharge people by $35. Oh and they had a argument in front of our table about who got our orders wrong multiple times.

    (1)
  • Laura P.

I am definitely not one of those people who get scared to try a conveyer belt Sushi joint... thankfully, because Blue C does a fantastic job! I've never been unhappy with my sushi here - and that can happen easily. The prices are cheap and affordable and what's better then being able to gather up a smorgasbord of different sushi/sashimi?! The California Roll is always a good one, safe for you newer sushi goers, the sashimi is my all time favorite. Any cut of fish, it's delicious! I was impressed with the service and how quick and attentive she was with drinks and any thing else we needed. I will definitely be back, and of course - you should try it if you already haven't! Quick, tasty & easy!

  • Katie K.

My husband and I went here for lunch and it was great. Service was friendly and fast. The sushi was delicious. I really liked the decor as well. The only thing that was wierd was that the bathrooms were upstairs from the restaurant and you have to go through about four different doors to get to them. It felt like a maze. However when you get to them at least the womens' bathroom is modern, clean and smells good.

    (4)
  • Selena B.

Its clean. Spacious and square. The private conveyor belt is a cool idea and the upstairs lounge sounds like fun. The sushi is typical, and there's nothing that is really "wow". But the happy hour menu is very limited, and its still a pretty expensive place for Kaitenzushi, and I think they charge for green tea. I do like how they let you do take out (go to the belt and place what you want in a box, you don't have to place an separate order = fast take out)

    (3)
  • Kristen A.

I am basing my review off of a visit on a Tuesday Night for Trivia Night. Our party of seven got a little early to enjoy the happy hour menu. Our drinks were good, and the food was okay and reasonably priced for the quality! The service, however, sucked! You would think they would want a big tip with a party of seven, but our water glasses were empty constantly, and getting anything from her was difficult. Now onto the Trivia... the Trivia Master was good, but I don't want to comment on him since it was his last night doing trivia. The crowd was a boring lot of working bellevue professionals, the trivia ended at 11 and as we left the place looked dead. My friend had two long islands (no big deal, we are all young) and when he asked for another she replied, "Are you sure? Are you driving?" I know that is nice and everything... but I am not going to return to a place that questions my drinking! I have not tried the conveyor belt sushi here yet - but I have to say I will be soon. For those less experienced with conveyor belt sushi this is a good choice because they have labels underneath all of their dishes.

  • Ken O.

This place is nice and hip - definitely a place to hang out with friends. Food quality - not that good - you'll like it if you like lots of rice and very thin slices of fish. Let's just say I've had better. The price is quite expensive for a conveyor belt type sushi restaurant. I can get the same food just 5 minutes away for half of what they charge (i.e. Sushi Mojo). If you want good quality sushi or nigiri, stick with a traditional Japanese restaurant, such as I Love Sushi or Obasan. I guess people go there for the atmosphere and a more up-scale dining experience, not really for the food. This place is not for me.

    (2)
  • Alicia M.

I thought it was pretty good. Lots of different choices than other conveyer belt sushi joints. I will go back!

    (4)
  • Rex B.

THE GOOD: Selection & lots of it THE BAD: Price for what you get THE LOWDOWN: A glorified conveyor sushi place. Only been once, that was enough for me. Had to wait for seating at a huge place, so lots of people eat there meaning, must have lots of fish and hopefully its all fresh, it all seemed fresh to me. If you want better go to AA Sushi in Kirkland.

    (2)
  • Andrew T.

I ate here 4 times in my 4 days in Bellevue. Granted I stayed at the hotel across the street, but the food is great and the prices very reasonable for fresh sushi. I did eat once at the happy hour upstairs and things did seem a bit slower service wise. The sushi is great and decor is nice and since it's already on the belt you can just sit down and start eating, what more could I ask for?!

    (4)
  • Greg M.

Blue C Sushi is a pretty typical conveyor sushi place. The pricing is quite reasonable given the quality of sushi. We had to wait 20 minutes for a group of 5 on a Sunday night. The restaurant was full, but it didn't feel crowded. The sushi is pretty good, neither the best nor worst I have ever had. Good if you're looking for sushi in Bellevue.

  • Shawn M.

Yes, I realize that for a lot of people, true connoisseurs, that Blue C Sushi is kinda like the Taco Del Mar of Sushi (no, it's not like the McDonald's of Sushi, if for nothing else because it's... Sushi!). And yes, it is production conveyor belt style, which in the context of places to bring my kids, is GREAT, and in the context of me being really hungry, short on time, and wanting instant gratification, this is as good as it gets. My kids love both Blue C Sushi and Taco Del Mar... I can tolerate Taco Del Mar, but I actually really enjoy Blue C Sushi for the reasons I listed above. So, to the dismay of the gourmands I have to give them fours stars for family friendliness, instant gratification, and of course it's still sushi.... and if I want I can order also order a fresh made spicy tuna hand roll! :-)

Gosh, I should've rated this location sooner but it escapes my mind each time! Ok. So in a nutshell, Blue C is pricier than Sushi Maru (my favorite!) but on par with Sushi Land (NOT my favorite). This place gets a lot of traffic because it is in a really nice location and has a nice interior. My friend and I found ourselves regretting coming here after each plate we picked up.

Good food that's all you need in a sushi spot.

My least favorite of the sushi in the area. The business is catering to people by being hip rather than good.

With the upmost respect to their convenience due to no wait times for food or location, Blue C Sushi should only be ventured if you MUST have sushi, you're near the mall and cannot spend too much time waiting. If you're looking for GOOD sushi, this is not the place for you. The restaurant is clean and quick, since the sushi is served on a conveyor belt. Just grab a dish you like as it's passing by and the servers will tally up your total at the end. You can start eating as soon as you're seated. The location is also very good if you're in the heart of the "Bellevue Collection" area. However, the food is subpar. Fish isn't the freshest and the care taken into making the rolls is minimal. The service staff is generally friendly but sometimes hard to track down including times when they're slow. Will I eat there again? Yes, because I work in Bellevue Place which is close. However, any decent sushi restaurant I normally frequent out shines Blue C tenfold.

Food is good for conveyor belt sushi. Avoid bar area upstairs. There is a huge disconnect between the kitchen downstairs and the bar. The bar staff seems overwhelmed and somewhat surprised that sushi in the bar should have plentiful ginger since there are no self serve containers in the bar. It's like a high school sushi restaurant experiment. Stay downstairs...but drinks take forever. Lesser of the two evils? This is my third visit.

Very cool space. Did not get to the bar to see Enfu's artwork, but from his blog pictures, they look cool. Considering this is an American kaitenzushi place, the food's ok. The nigiri sushi is so so and selection limited. The rolls were the standard fare and tasted OK. They had a lot of "katsu" stuff going around on the conveyor...I didn't try any of those. I haven't been to Sushiland lately to compare the selection and quality. The service was excellent...especially for a restaurant that's only been open less than a week. I would go back w/my son since he loved watching the sushi on the conveyor.

Possible the worst sushi I have ever had. Cheap decent sushi has a special spot in my heart - but this isn't it. Avoid at all costs.

No thank you. Blue C is overpriced in general but the wait staff here is exceptionally poor. First visit: Happy Hour is always a bonus here because their sushi is obviously a better price, but only available in the bar... After asking the waitress where our food was at about 30 minutes after we ordered, she irritatedly said "we only put your order into the computer 25 minutes ago, it will be up soon." I had only ordered two very simple rolls. Peaked downstairs, not even the booths were full, so not incredibly busy. Hmmm... another 15 minutes go by they finally come with the two rolls. Second visit: Lunch time, edemame was cold and stale so we asked for fresh ones, oh how about these on the belt? how about no. Third visit: Another 30 minute wait without it being busy in the restaurant. Conclusion: Maybe I'm expecting a little too much, but I just feel that their customer service standards is very low and they should be training their staff to be courteous to their customers.

I used to really like Blue C (about 2-3 years ago), but since opening additional locations it just gets worse and worse. The last time we went the Spicy Tuna rolls were literally GOO! It was so gross. The Ahi looked grey and then we saw one of the "chefs" come out with bags of fish eggs, pre-fried tempura shrimp, and other packaged items. I watched one plate of sushi go around for over an 75 minutes and it was touched by 3 different customers who put it back. I finally couldn't take it and asked the "chef" to remove the plate. When we got the bill of course it was the usual $45 for two small people who ate 4 plates each. I'm not from Japan and I'm not going to pretend to be better than anyone by saying what a fabulous sushi expert I am, but I know fresh and high quality from crap and Blue C Sushi is now crap. I don't want my daughter to eat there anymore. I'm really afraid she's going to get very sick. This last time I swore them off. It really disappointed me to have to swear them off, but I'm sick of leaving disappointed and feeling like I wasted another $50. There's a lot better sushi around if you just drive a few blocks.

Good, but VERY pricey. Service is outsanding, but pricing is just what brought them down. There are many other conveyer belt-type sushi place in Bellevue (it's up to you to find them), but yes. There are WAY better and much cheaper sushi restaurants that does the same thing as Blue (crap) Sushi.

Typical conveyor belt sushi ... Just ok! A lil over priced and disappt at the lack of choices for a Sat at 5. Was a lil wait bt the made up for it w free desserts, none was worth writing hm abt... I did enjoy the atmosphere and friendly wait staff!

Yeeeeeeeee!!!! I love happy hour at Blue C! Mango mojitos are always amazing and the food is delicious! Ohh and the fantastic service is wonderful too. Quick, fast and cheap. Leaves my wallet and me happy!

Sam up at the bar keeps you having a good time during happy hour. I go there on Thursdays which is an all night happy hour. The drinks are good, house sake is not bad (and cheap), and the sushi is pretty good too. I had a large sake and two salmon sashimi dishes and my bill was only 12.76. Not bad. Check it out when your at the mall.

Over priced and not very good. There're are a couple types of kaiten zushi/conveyor belt sushi places: 1) The kind that specialise in interesting, American style, rice-on-the-outside rolls. 2) The kinds that specialise in traditional sushi fair. A sushi place should be good at one of those, or at least be very cheap. Blue C is not cheap, does not have interesting rolls and does not have great, fresh fish. There are three or four better places in the city and many more on the east-side.

The service here is bad. The food is not fresh. It is not even attractively prepared. And for 7 plates plus 2 soups and tea, at $36, it's too expensive. We will not be back. I've been to a bunch of roller band sushi places so I know not to expect too much of the food, but this was really awful. The rolls were falling apart and tasteless. The tempura was greasy. The miso soup was flavorless. I've had better instant miso. Even the green tea was somehow off... Blueish. Is there food coloring in it? We ordered shrimp tempura but they gave us vegetable tempura. No sauce. We ordered ice cream. No spoons. We had to ask for those separately. And the place is overstaffed, but it still takes 5 minutes to get a waiter's attention - even with the call buttons! There were 3 waiters chatting at the hostess desk and another on a cell phone. We had pressed the blue call button and waited for them to look over at us to get their attention. Eventually, one of the staff had to turn to answer the restaurant's phone, and that's how we finally got their attention. Terrible. With so many decent restaurants in the area, you'd think they'd try harder... Oh well.

Just checked out the new Blue C in Bellevue last night. I was surprised to see they had an upstairs lounge that resembled an upscale bar, which is where we sat. The pros: It is very chic, nice place to take friends and they had all night happy hour on Thurs- total plus! The cons: the service is extremely poor, like others have mentioned. I gave it four stars though because service is generally bad in bellevue. It's all about the attitude there so I expect it each time we go out. I liked the ambiance and conveyor belt sushi is always appealing in my book! I will be back.

Terrible sushi, reasonable service. You can do much better for sushi in the Seattle area. Don't waste your money here. The plates are overpriced, the sushi was bland and dry, and the table layout made it difficult for some members of my party to reach the conveyer belts. You're far better off going to I Love Sushi or elsewhere.

BEST california rolls in the area, hands down. Also love the avocado rolls. Only downside I can think of is that I always smell like sushi when I leave.

The sushi is "fresh" but the bottom line is that the taste is not worth the price. WAY to expensive for that bland of flavor. Its the polar opposite of sushi land, which is decent flavor for a very cheap price.

After reading all the negative reviews about this place, I was a little bit hesitant of giving them a try but everybody deserves a chance right? So we went here on Saturday night and the place was not even half full, not a big deal. One of the waitresses asked us if we wanted a table or a booth so we chose the second option, she got the menus walked us to the booth and we discover still had dirty glasses and chopsticks on the table, again no big deal, she said she will clean it right away so we could sit. She finally cleaned it and were ready to sit down when the person at the front desk told us that, that booth was reserved for another couple that was standing in the back. After the confusing incident he offered us another booth just in front of the door of the restaurant, we were hungry and didn't want to miss the start of our movie so we decided not to complain and just sit and eat. Now moving into the food, there was hardly any variety of plates to choose from and just a few moving around the conveyor belt so we grabbed the common stuff, salmon, seared tuna and some tofu. Ingredients were fresh but food was totally average besides the tofu was saggy and bad :( We ordered two drinks, they were good but yes, you guess right they were common drinks. So we ate quickly and asked for our check as we really needed to go and it's when the surprise came $65 dollars including the tip for two drinks and average food....... no way! Well that will teach me a lesson.

My family had visited Blue C a week ago on my birthday, since I am half Japanese and half caucasian my mom has had lots of knowledge about Sushi restaurants before while living in tokyo in the past. Are family was not happy with our visit at the time, over-priced average quality sushi had what gotten us. Maybe the extra 3 dollars on those plates is because of the business rental fee?

  • Jessica N.

Uh, I guess the ambiance was nice, but the sushi just really wasn't up to par. Fish eating friends said the fish was especially fishy and not too fresh, and I thought some of the rice seemed a little on the dry side (probably had been going around the conveyor belt for too long) Oh, and the green tea comes from a bag! Always a bad sign!

I won't give Blue C Sushi a one star because they didn't do anything terrible to me, and the food didn't make me sick. But the whole experiece was mediocre at best. Atmosphere: lights are too bright. It feels more like a McDonalds than a sushi place. Service: just terrible. we finally left after we waited for about a half hour for our drinks. My beer never came. Multiple reminders and the waitress just couldn't seem to pull it together. Lousy lousy service. Food: My wife is Japanese, and I spent many years in Japan, so I know good sushi. There are other good sushi places in Bellevue, but this is not one of them. The rice was TERRIBLE. They use cheap rice, and the wasabi was even worse. The food wasn't just OK, or not very good, it gained the distinction of being terrible. Even if somebody else paid I wouldn't go here again.

Used to love going to blue sea for a quick lunch with friends but was extremely disappointed when I went there today. They REALLY raised their prices and the portion size/quality went way down. Only got 4 plates and spent $17. Used to get the same for only $10 or $12. Will not go back.

Haters!! Good joint for the price...The maguro sashimi was tender and succulent. The unagi nigiri was pretty darn good. Clean and trendy ambiance. Take your girl on a date here she will love it. Better than i sushi or the dreaded sushiland. blechh..

  • Howard L.

Obviously when you go to a conveyor belt sushi place you're not expecting the best quality, but the level of fish here was almost offensive. Ok, I won't mince words, it was terrible. What they do have going for them is a modern, sleek atmosphere and they're crowded enough so you can distract yourself from the limp dead fish with some people-watching.

I do not get this place. U employ cheap mexican labor to make your conveyor belt sushi yet consistently charge 75-100% more than sushi maru or other sushi places. Ikura for $6 when everybody else charges $3?! Blue c sushi roll for $6 was a pathetic signature dish. If u are going to charge a lot to try to give cache to your place, at least make good sushi. Run don't walk away from this place or any Blue C Sushi.

I came here a skeptic, and left a fan. Being a vegetarian, going to a sushi place for happy hour dinner had me convinced I'd end up drinking too much and eating too little. Boy, was I wrong. Their happy hour menu is so cheap, I ordered 2 dishes right away, and then another two. Some of them (avocado roll, cucumber roll) were just $1, and i literally expected one or two rolls per plate. I got about 4-5 rolls per plate. Avocado roll was yum, cucumber roll was just ok, and the tofu sauce sushi from their boom menu was about $3.75- i found the tofu sauce a bit strong, but that's just me. I LOVED their tempura roll- their best veggie sushi IMO! At the end, I was so stuffed, I skipped breakfast the next day! Their drinks are a tad expensive for happy hour- most of their cocktails are $7-8 anyway, and you get them for $6- I found them to be just OK, and I landed up with a headache with just two of them. WIll probably try their $3.5 well drinks next time. Love the ambience of the place, the sushi conveyor belt, and the color coded order list you tick off on, and the giant wall with random videos projected onto it. All in all, a great experience for food. Our food bill for 8 happy hour dishes came up to just $12! Happy hour can't get any happier!

I was visiting a friend who had moved from Denver to Seattle and arrived later than anticipated in town (flight delayed by about 2 hours, spent sitting on the plane) so my friend and I decided to head to a sushi place for dinner. When I'm able to bust out of land-locked CO to a place that shares it's border with an ocean, it's hard not to look forward to seafood. We walk in and immediately see the convayor belt of sushi running through the place. Hmm... then we are told the kitchen closes in 15 minutes (it was around 8pm and that just seemed odd to me, but we went with is) and we'd have to basically sit down and immediately order. Ok, fine, let's do this. We decide to sit upstairs at the bar, order, wait for a while, and our dinner comes out. It's ... meh. Colorado has better sushi than this place, what's wrong with this picture? We also had to flag down one of the bartenders to ask where one of our rolls was and it eventually came out. When the bill arrives, we realize that another roll we forgot we'd ordered is on the check, which admittedly had already been ran on my card since I didn't think to check beforehand. The bartender takes my receipt and says he needs to cancel the transaction downstairs, which is fine, except he doesn't bring the "VOIDED" receipt back for me to keep for my records. To Blue C's credit, my card was refunded the amount, but I found it very "fishy" that I wasn't provided a copy of the voided transaction. Also, throughout our meal, the bartenders were throwing rags, trash, etc at eachother and trying (unsuccessfully) to juggle the plastic glasses, which no one else seemed to notice because they were all quite intoxicated. Perhaps I should have had more to drink... Neither of us will be back and we were both shocked to find there are MULTIPLE Blue C Sushi places open... I was beginning to think we got them on a bad night, but after reading the other reviews, I'm thinking not...

Ah...the Kaiten Sushi joint. What better than a conveyor belt to eliminate the middle man or woman. who needs a server! Bring me my sushi now! Alas, as is the case in most Kaiten type places, is the quality on par with a regular sit down? Decidedly not. But, I came here desperate to be satiated. That being said, a few notables. The spider roll was decent, good and crispy on the inside. In fact, I would tend to agree with many of the reviews in that the better stuff is the stuff that is cooked although it may be a bit on the more expensive side. The dishes are color coded which also corresponds to the price of the dish. For the life of me I can't recall which color meant what price, blue, green aqua? The interior is as expected kind of 'hip' looking. The staff seemed pretty nice. In the end, I got full, they got my money. Both parties were happy.

Being from an eastern landlocked state and always having overpriced just "ok" sushi, I always look forward to having a better experience on the west coast. Blue C didn't disappoint. I enjoy being able to sit at the counter and pick a variety of different options without waiting for a server... or trying to figure out what is what when the server drops off the order. Everything was fresh and tasty and, for 12 plates and 2 sodas, reasonably priced at $62.00. Keep in mind, the "sushi train" concept doesn't provide you with plates of large rolls or large portions. Go in with reasonable expectations on portion size and you won't be disappointed!

The food is ok compare with its price. The restroom is awkwardly located on the upper floor of an isolated space, not really feel safe there. But, the waiter service is nice with a ring by each table.

The sushi place is A-OK. Service is nice. I like the fake chopstick things for people who can't use chopsticks. Sometimes I want to use them because I like how you can put them together yourself. My favorite thing to eat here is the seared tuna. I really think it's the best thing on the menu. Another thing I really like is the Unagi (eel). For a while it was not very good. It was cold and felt like there were little bones in it, but I feel like they have stepped it up a bit and the Unagi tastes a lot better these days. I also like the salmon sashimi. I really hate sushi that is rolled ugly, but this place makes everything pretty. All of the fish is cut perfectly, and the rolls are always made in a nice uniform way. I dont feel like i'm being ripped off because there isn't a tiny piece hiding in the corner. I love the converyor belt. This place is more pricey than other sushi places around, but if you are looking for consistency and good seared tuna, go to Blue C Sushi.

If you are looking for a cool place to chill with friends, Blue-C is a 5: - Convenient location: in the middle of downtown Bellevue, populated with respectful people - Ambience: modern decor, the bar area on the second floor is spacey and stylish - Drinks: a range of tasty cocktails, happy hours all night on Tuesdays and Thursdays - Karaoke: free - Quick eats: sushi on a conveyer belt downstairs If you are looking for quality eats, Blue -C is a 2: -Variety: predictable menu - Flavor: meh. not bad but not at all unique or memorable either - Price: too high for the kind of food In summary, go to BlueC sushi if you are OK with paying for a good time; don't go just for the sushi.

  • Aga K.

Went there for a quick dinner. My bill was over $25, I didn't leave full and the plates very very bland. You can go to Wasabi or Umi for less than that and you know you'll get tasty sushi.

    (1)
  • Monica L.

For the price, it's not worth it. I've eaten at both the Bellevue and Tukwila locations and it's nothing spectacular. While the places look nice and classy, the food is okay. Chicken katsu and spicy tuna could have been done better. I probably wouldn't come back to spend my money.

  • Virgil R.

I've been to Blue C three times in the last couple years. The first time it was great. Second time it was terrible. I felt like I had gone into a completely different place. The third time it was so bad we asked for a manager, sent half the food back for reasons I'll spare you in case you're a frequent Blue C diner (hint: fish shouldn't be shiny or smell like sewage, particularly when you plan to consume it raw) and when he seemed irritated we just paid, left and ate somewhere else. I won't be back. Please save yourself the heartache and eat elsewhere.

    (1)
  • Kiho S.

When I think about the whole eating experience of Blue C, I tried to imagine other genres of food that incorporate machinery. What else is there? The rotisserie is one. Could you consider fondue? Korean bbq? Who knows. Seems somehow fitting that the Japanese would come up with this system of serving food so efficiently. On Wikipedia (so, who knows how accurate that is...) it says that the first conveyor belt restaurant opened in 1958. Crazy... History lesson aside, there's not much to say about this place. Yes, the food is cheap, the staff is friendly, there's a bar upstairs, and you even get a buzzer at your seat for special requests and other considerations, but the food just really isn't that great. I'd rate the food as a 2, and the service and clean décor bumps it up to a 3. I think I prefer the comparable Sushiland taste to Blue C if it came down to the two options...

    (3)
  • Linda C.

So... Here are the pluses: Choose your own food. Choice of amount of food. Service is prompt. Location is pretty central. Here's the downside: The food. Do people really like this sushi? It's about equivalent to Costco sushi. You know, the type with hard white rice that's been sitting around in a refrigerated section for a little too long...

    (2)
  • Eric P.

Blue C does one thing very well: tasty sushi quickly and affordably with a unique delivery and experience. Looking for the cheapest sushi in town? Skip Blue C. Looking for the highest quality fish? Skip Blue C. Looking for the most "authentic" experience. Fly to Japan. But skip Blue C. Don't come here with unrealistic expectations (like most of the low-rating folks here did, obviously). Blue C Sushi lets you get in, get the right amount of variety (IMHO), and enjoy healthy food for a reasonable price. I loved seeing the food before I chose to buy it or not. I could control my final bill by focusing on the cheaper or mid-priced plates. I felt more free to take a risk on something I probably would never have bought without seeing it made first. I'll definitely be back.

  • Sofie L.

This is the first time we went to this place and will be our last time too. The food is not fresh at all. The tempura shrimp looks like it was prepared days ago. Don't even expect it to be crisp. One of the California roll was spoiled. The udon noodle soup is a plain MSG soup. Overall, the taste is not good and it doesn't worth the price. And I agree that the waitresses don't really seem to love their job. We regretted to come to this place and will never come back.

  • Andrea S.

I went to Blue C sushi for lunch this week with a colleague and had a tasty quick lunch. My colleague suggested that we watch the conveyor belt go around a few times to make sure we saw the variety of items offered which was a great idea. And Blue C did have variety when I was there. From noodle salad, to California and spicy tuna rolls to the daily special roll, there seemed to be plenty to choose from across a variety of "plate prices." The sushi was solid, not the best you've ever tasted but far from the worst. I'd go here again for a quick lunch out of the office with a friend or colleague any day.

  • Bridgette F.

My boyfriend loves this place so we went there for lunch. I love the ambiance and the design and all that. You get entertainment while you eat and you are served quick. I am a vegetarian so there was not much selection for me. The sesame noodles were good, the vegetable tempura was actually pretty tasty. The potatoes were cold even though they were on a flame. So that was kind of a bummer. The sweet omelet on rice was ok but sweet in a weird way, the waiter took that off the bill for us though. We got 9 plates and two sodas for $26 after one was taken off.

    (3)
  • Michelle V.

Expensive, glorified conveyer belt sushi. If I really wanted to pay $25 for what just tasted like udon I got from the store and 2 rolls, I would have opted to pay that for somewhere like Umi.

  • Ana F.

Fast food sushi for the lazy and uneducated! I appreciate the cute aesthetic but I wouldn't go back here unless I was absolutely craving cheap sushi. Which is a rare occassion. Maybe I'm just a sushi snob? It doesn't help that they were out of miso soup when we visited. I ended up just buying and trying a ton of their plates in hopes that I'd find something delicious! Goal unattained. I found myself with a stomach full of mediocre sushi and I was full for the sake of eating. I had a good time here though with my friend; Bellevue is a great neighborhood and also the service was A+. I just can't bring myself to return for service alone if the food isn't even that fresh. :/

It's conveyor belt sushi. Once you're past that, you can enjoy the meal. If you're looking for good, quality sushi, don't even enter. It is decent quality, but FOR conveyor belt sushi. Just keep that in mind and you'll be okay!

I see this place has gotten some pretty bad reviews... I have been quite a few times for happy hour and I have grown pretty fond of it. I stick to the basics: 2 california roll spicy tuna roll veg. tempura Comes to around 10-12 bucks and I leave very satisfied. The cali. rolls are really cold and refreshing.

Very friendly service, clean resturaunt and good sushi! I had never been to a sushi resturaunt with a conveyere belt but was pleasently suprised. The host was very warm and friendly and once we were seated had our drink orders taken right away. I tried the california roll, seattle roll and spider roll. They were all fresh and yummy. I would defintly go back and reccomened this restaunt. Easy parking too!

I've been to the U-District and Fremont location many times and the Bellevue location solidifies my opinion that Blue-C is hit or miss. You are better off going to QFC. Happy hour should be renamed to "meh hour". The happy hour specials aren't the ones I'd usually order so I ended up ordering stuff I didn't want to supposedly save a dollar. We still ended up paying $30 total, which is a bit high for a happy hour for two ppl. Stay downstairs, pay a few more dollars and enjoy the sushi train. The inari and tempura were over cooked. Come on! The basics people! Chicken tempura was decent, but not delicious. I think they should focus on consistency in sushi production and less on hip japanese decor. The sushi here is ridiculously big and the Nori (seaweed wrap) is so tough that you have to eat the whole piece at once. If your mouth is normal sized then you end up either shoving the whole thing in or looking like a complete idiot as you try to cut the thing in half with your fangs. Good luck trying to cut in in half with wooden chopsticks. One plus is that they have Mac n' Jacks on tap. All in all, I still won't be back to another Blue C again. I Love Sushi is right around the corner and is a bit more consistent.

Pretty standard conveyor belt. Quite a bit less selection than a Sushi land (see my other reviews). A little bit more on the expensive side. See my Seattle area Conveyor Belt Sushi Yelp list for more places!

  • James W.

I tend to go to Blue C when I don't have plans on where to eat dinner. The sushi is slightly above average but I would not say its amazing. However, for some reason I'm a sucker for the conveyor belt service. I love it. And they have cupcakes. The cupcakes are a nice touch. I think it's a good place for 3-4 people. More than that it won't work.

Service has gotten way better since the first time I went. Amy did an awesome job and they kind of worked as a team getting us drinks and placing special orders for us. The sushi is awesome, the music is hip and the projector TV images are all Japan. They have good vegetarian opitons too. If I am watching my pennies, I go to Sushi Me. If I splurge, I go here.

Blue C isn't bad, yet the food nearly doesn't seem to be the main focus at this joint. From my impressions of being there a few times, it nearly comes off as a place to be seen or hang out. With the amount of conveyor belt sushi places in downtown Bellevue(around 4) it offers nearly nothing new other than a really pretty location and bar. I found the quality of the fish to be acceptable, but not worth the steeper prices per dish. If you're hungry expect to drop around $20+ for yourself. Some of the novelty rolls can cost up to $6, which kind of works against the spirit of kaiten sushi(Price being a big element of conveyor belt sushi). You can find better places close by and pay about half the price for the same thing.

I like Blue C Sushi. But, I don't like Sushi. First of all, don't go here if you're looking for some serious sushi, because you're not going to find it here. Instead, you'll find the Americanized version of many sushis, and other "Japanese" dishes. I like the bubble drinks (not THE bubble drinks that have tapioca bubbles, it's this kind of Japanese soda) and, although it's not on their menu, teriyaki chicken. Since I don't like sushi, I eat the cold noodles, chicken, and their green tea ice cream is good. While I know that it sounds weird that I'm reviewing a sushi restaurant but not commenting on the sushi, it's a great place to take kids, and it's a good place just to go for lunch or dinner.

We were in town from Los Angeles and craving something unique than the numerous seafood/steak restaurants in downtown Seattle. We drove out to Bellevue and really enjoyed the experience at Blue C Sushi. The sushi was fine and the conveyor belt is a fun twist on dining. Why people go here expecting something else is confusing to me because it's obvious when you look in. Prices were reasonable and on par with other sushi restaurants like this. (Yo Sushi in London comes to mind.) The staff was really good and attentive. The fact that they have booths attached to the belt/bar is unique for this type of restaurant considering it takes up more space for fewer people. We'd definitely go back.

I have been here a few times now. I think the best reason to go here is for HH, which happens to include all night Thursday nights. It is super cheap then. The quality is what you pay for the price. They have enough variety, and there is also a great bar upstairs.

One of the best conveyor belt sushi places on the eastside, the quality is better than average, the interior is nice, and the prices are reasonable. I'm not sure why people go in expecting Nishino on a conveyor belt... get your expecations in line, people!

I brought my wife here for sushi because we happened to be at the mall and it was conveniently close. I have to say...not the best. The selection of sushi was even less than what I normally expect for conveyor belt sushi. The quality was only so-so. And while I didn't expect stellar service the complete lack of service was astonishing. Needless to say, next time i will go back to sushiland.

I am giving it 3 stars for they variety they offer. The V8 roll is a great concept but I wish it were fresh. The rice was stale and sushi was average. Sesame noodles were better.

For the cost of the plates Blue C Sushi is totally not worth it. Their spicy tuna roll and salmon nigiri do not even compare to I Love Sushi up the street. If you want conveyor belt style even Sushi Land has better quality pieces for much cheaper prices. If you're at the mall even Rice n' Roll is a better value than this,,,

Service was very good, sushi was mediocre. Several rolls were falling apart and the prices (at least in Bellevue) seem a bit pricey. The atmosphere is fun and gives an authentic japanese feel but isn't enough for me to cough up the extra dough, especially when I can get better sushi for less at Sushiland.

[Came here for lunch last week with a co-worker..a freeeeeeeeeee lunch for me actually - my favorite kind] So this is the newest and nicest location for BCS. This Bellevue location blows the other BCS's out of the water. It has two levels, the main level is the actual restaurant with sushi chefs in the middle and the conveyor belt around them - seating size is about the same as the other ones - maybe a little bigger. Had my usual (spider, taco, maguro) and it all tasted fresh and tasty as usual. The co-worker had no complaints either. Its only been open a few weeks but the place was packed, that's a good sign. But the real action is the upper level. There is a very nice fully stocked bar upstairs with plenty of comfortable looking chairs and couches. There's also a back room with U-shaped couch seating - the whole place has that Vegas lounge feel. I'm thinking this place is On-and-Poppin on a Fri/Sat night. Plus, its in the heart of downtown Bellevue. Go here for good (not great) sushi and drinks and make sure you peep out the bar upstairs.

The perfect little place for happy hour. This Blue C is enormous, two stories with sky-high ceilings, a full-bar and private dining area upstairs, and of course the standard conveyor belt sushi that's made this chain famous. My coworkers and I gathered upstairs in the room adjacent to the bar which was perfect, a large table to accommodate our big group of 8+ with the benefit of substantial space between tables that allowed us some privacy to enjoy ourselves without bothering anyone around us. The menu is clearly organized, all sushi and appetizers with an asterisk are available at happy hour prices. Look at these bargains we scored, we ordered a ton and were able to enjoy some tasty sushi for cheap! - $1.00 edamame plates - $1.75 4 California rolls - $2.25 vegetable tempura - $2.75 spicy tuna roll - $2.75 pork gyoza - $3.25 eel and cucumber roll Not bad, especially considering how overpriced sushi can be depending on the place. While I still have yet to try out this conveyor belt business that I've heard so much about, I definitely did enjoy my first visit to Blue C. I'll be back for HH.

We LOVE Blue C Sushi. We have been coming since it opened. 90% of the time the sushi is very fresh. The menu is great! However, The more recent staff is not as familiar as we were with them so sometimes we don't receive the service we used to. But, that is not a problem if they don't consider getting to know us. It would be nice if when we come 2-3 times a month, they remember our drink order. Or that the hostess remembers our names. Really trying to help them improve here! When I come and they ask, have you ever been to Blue C Sushi, well that is kinda like, yea, last week, when did you start. Do you know Blue C Sushi? Might want to rephrase that line when its a new worker. Maybe they should announce they are new instead. One guy who did that I actually liked more because he was not insulting us as we sat and admited he was the new one of the 2 of us. I need Tea Refills and hate when people ask. Yes, assume so and if its half empty, refill it. But bring a pot of hot water and refill at the table rather than take my drink away. The hard part for them is maintaining the rush. When they are busy, there hostess can appear clueless. I think it will be 20-25 minutes. They need to take reservations or give us those light up when your table is ready thing. So we can check in, go shop and come back when its time. And when seating, look at the customer. How many of us are with little kids we need to get home for a bath by 7-7:30pm and are here to eat quickly and go. Don't make us wait forever while you give the young date night who is going to sit in that huge booth for 1 hour+ the prime real estate. I am less impressed with the Mexican fusion with the sushi. Stick with good Japanese food. I also don't feel the American fusion. I prefer more Japanese desserts than those donuts or cupcakes. Please remove those and put some authentic Japanese desserts. Again we love Blue C Sushi, will be coming back. Please consider this as positive feedback to make the experience better.

I'd agree that out of all the Blue-C Sushi's this is my far the best location. We had a lot of fun upstairs playing x-box while we ate/drank. However, the sushi is definitely not the best I've had. What I'm giving Blue C 4 stars for is the awesome service - we weren't at the conveyor belt, but upstairs we had VERY attentive bartenders who even staked out the table with one of the x-boxes for us as soon as the previous occupants left. They were quick to bring us our libations and seemed fine with the fact that we kept ordering extra sushi in small doses. My only complaint is that upstairs you order your sushi off of a piece of paper (i.e. you write in the number of plates of sushi you want, each with approximately 4 rolls on it) and I think that's extremely wasteful. Also, they did forget to bring us 2 orders of inari (I blame that on my guy partially, since he changed the number and crossed out the previous one), but then we had to use an entire sheet just to re-order the inari. All in all though, we had a really great time here. Since most of us own or at least live with someone else who owns rock band/world tour, we were kicking butt on world tour and it was quite amusing to have the bartender stand back and watch us play. Next time maybe we'll whip out that mic and turn it into a karaoke establishment! Or better yet... bring rock band, which in my opinion is FAR superior to world tour!

I love sushi and I was really excited to eat here because I've heard good things, but the food was boring and the service was almost nonexistent except when it came to check time. We had no soy sauce at the table, our water and soda glasses were always empty. The waitress didn't even bother to refill my water because it still had a little at the bottom and just walked away after filling one glass at our table. The Good: Cool RFID tags under the plates let the chefs know when sushi's been sitting out for too long. The sushi are correctly labeled, unlike at Sushi Me, which is helpful when its on a conveyor belt. Nice atmosphere and decor. Hot plates are constantly warmed. Decent price for decent quality of fish, but a lot of the sushi we could get at Sushi Me for a dollar or two less per plate. The Bad: The worst california roll I've ever had, one was just canned tuna and mayo with some avocado and filler, hot food wasn't ready until we were all ready to leave (around 7pm)... Most importantly, I hated the sushi rice. Normally you hand press the sushi rice onto the nori and here they use a machine that spits out a sheet of rice.. the chef then presses the nori onto the rice. This method, though time efficient and much easier, causes the sushi to fall apart too easily when you pick it up with chopsticks. Chunks of rice kept falling into my soy sauce and then all the filling would come loose. You either had to be really quick, or not squeeze too hard with the chopsticks. It got to be really annoying. The method also causes the sushi rice to take on a mushier than normal texture kind of like costco sushi (if anyone's ever tried it). Very processed and not as authentic as sushi from many other places. I much prefer Tokyo Sushi restaurant in Loehmann's plaza, which isnt conveyor belt sushi but its authentic and really good.

Interesting layout with a moving line of sushi instead of boats. Somewhere between average and decent sushi. Friendly service. Good place to get a group together for a modernized sushi experience.

  • Grace L.

The food is ok and with lots of people flowing in and out I feel like the food doesn't sit out as long as with some of the slower sushi belt places. However, I must say that it is certainly much more pricey then some of the other places out there.

    (3)
  • Jen S.

Yeah, it's a chain but it is still good. Happy hour is a so-so deal and you have to go upstairs to get the prices and they do not honor them downstairs. I haven't had anything that I wouldn't get again, the katsu potato bites are good, so are the spider rolls and nigri. Service is slow if you get anything not on the conveyor, even happy hour items. It is higher priced than other places on the Eastside, but really convenient if you are at Lincoln or Bell Square.

  • Berenice C.

I don't eat sushi. My husband does and has had much, much better sushi at other places in the Seattle area. We've been to their happy hour and it's a pretty good deal, as good as it's gonna get on the Eastside. So...why the he'll am I reviewing this place. Because their waitstaff and bartenders SUCK! They treat you like they couldn't give a damn if you were there or not, they're slow slow with the drinks and if they don't have that miserably bored look on their face, they're talking about their personal lives with coworker. I actually saw people sitting in the lounge have get up and give a waiter their order (more than once!) since he nor any one else was serving them!

Been here a few times and wasn't satisfied on either visit. The interior is extremely clean, and pretty; it is also a very convenient location. But there are several things about this place that make it to the bottom of the list in terms of downtown Bellevue conveyer-belt sushi joints. First, they charge for tea. I don't remember how much it was, and it does state on the menu that they charge for tea. However, most restaurants, especially restaurants serving asian cuisine, dont charge for tea. The waitress or waiter basically assumed we knew they charged for tea and didn't bother to tell us that they actually charge for tea. Second, every time I went there, my water glass was rarely ever filled. And finally, the sushi itself. The sushi is definitely not top-notch, nor does it taste fresh. I mean...it just doesn't taste good. I must admit though that I've had really good sushi in my lifetime as I've been to Japan, but...its really not that good here. The rice is extremely sticky and WET, and once I even picked up a sushi that fell apart because of the wet rice! Some of the sushi is pretty decent, but some are just plain bland. Their california roll here isn't that great. And Blue C Sushi is relatively expensive compared to the other downtown Bellevue area conveyer belt joints. I would recommend going to Sushiland, Sushi Yama, or Sushi Maru instead of Blue C Sushi. They are all in the same vicinity, cheaper, fresher, better-tasting, and don't charge for tea. But I've heard the Happy Hour here is great though.

I read some of the previous reviews and am somewhat surprised. Of course, I'm not a food snob but I always have great food and amazing service at Blue C. Tonight was no different. Our server, Erik, was outstanding and made sure we were well taken care of. The sushi was excellent, too. I have been here numerous times and will go back numerous times. If you want to have fun and eat great sushi, this is a good place to go.

Came here on a trip to Seattle and it attracted us because it was SUSHI CONVEYOR BELT!!!! we were all really excited. They gave us a whole conveyor belt to ourselves because we had a rather large party. The sushi chef was really nice and friendly, and so were the staff. The sushi wasn't the best I had, but there were some items that ive never eaten before so it was a nice experience. the conveyor belt made it alot more fun. i think if you're a big eater, this place will be dangerous to your wallet because you will just keep taking plates off the belt and eat and eat and eat! because that's what i did :( the bill came out to be about 65$ for 2 people, plus some drinks. so the total was like 83$. pretty pricey IMO, but a fun experience!

Upon entering the restaurant you need to walk up a flight of stairs. I believe Blue C Sushi is on the second floor of Boom. The restaurant is tastefully decorated - minimal, chic, Asian-esque accents with dark wooden furniture. It was even pretty cool to pass a sushi conveyor belt on the way upstairs to Blue. The rolls (which I ate mostly) were really good. In addition I think the service was great. Whenever I needed a refill on water they were very quick in responding. I wish I could've eaten more to comment about their food, but I wasn't too hungry (a rarity!) that day.

It's worth starting out saying that as a bit of a sushi snob, I had completely sworn off the conveyor belt sushi joints. I've detested the small portions, brick-hard rice, and lack of quality control...that along with the fear that I would pick up a plate of raw fish that had sat out for hours. Blue C has completely changed my perspective on this. Granted, it isn't awesome, but it is quite appetizing and definitely served with the same portions and quality as if you were sitting in front of a sushi chef at the bar. Everything we ate was splendid except for the plate of yakisoba - way below par on this. Spicy noodles on the other hand (which look very similar) were delicious - not sure why the yak came out so bad. Price was decent for what we got too. I'll definitely go back. By the way, I probably would give this 3.5 stars, but the fact that it surprised me as a conveyor belt place to be as good as it was, and the excellent wait staff (friendly, attentive - not your usual fair even at good sushi "full serve" places) bumped up the rating to a solid 4.

  • Heidi S.

I had to wait quite some time before being seated: ~20 minutes for a group of 4! The food was good but not of the best, freshest quality. This sushi place is definitely over priced but I give it a high rating because of the atmosphere and good appetizing sushi.

Over priced belted sushi. Decent selection but for the price I could go eat at I love Sushi with way better quality and freshness. Overall, the ambient is great for belted sushi type of restaurant. Service was good. Food...... I can eat at Sushiland for half the price with better quality. And Sushiland is close by Bellevue Square anyway. I don't mind the short drive to have better and cheaper belted sushi.

This is the best sushi resturant i have ever been to. They are very busy so its hard to get a table sometimes but the wait is well worth it. There food is always good and the price is resonable. This is by far my favorite sushi place.

Exactly as the stars say, meh, I've experienced better. It is a fun experience, but with so many conveyer belt sushi restaurants in the area, this would be last one I choose.

Bad things were happening when I went. They forgot to give us either wasabi or ginger and then to top that off only gave us 5 of the 7 items that were ordered. The sushi was "fishy". Which is saying a lot for me because I love sushi, but when it has that slimy texture and smells like it was left out too long, the sushi is no good. Hopefully it was a bad night, but I have nothing good to say about my experience here. Go to Flo or Ginza if you are looking for sushi in Bellevue.

The sushi's decent. It's pretty good, but not the best we've had. It's slightly overpriced for what you get. Nonetheless, we still go once in a while when we're craving sushi.

I was in the Bel Square area and was pleasantly suprised to see a Blue C sushi there. I often go into Blue C in U Village and Southcenter and was happy to see there were some new menu items. I had the Tuna Poke and it was delicious. I wanted to try all of them but I got too full! I'll definitly be coming back to keep trying the new stuff.

I really liked this restaurant for a few reasons. First, the design and the whole sushi system is very spectacular - there's a conveyer belt that carries color-coded (by price) plates around, and if you see something you want, you just take the plate off the belt and eat. Very convenient. Also the prices are very cheap, and the food is great! They have sushi, as well as traditional Japanese foods and "beyond sushi" items, like chicken, tuna, and such.

  • Nick C.

Great location, decor, prices, and service offset by low quality, unimaginative sushi. I'd come here if I were in a rush but if I needed to impress someone I'd take them to Flo which is 2 blocks away.

I love this place because it is quick and fresh. The sushi is really good and the conveyor belt was a plus when I brought my sushi-phobic dad. He was really glad to be able to see exactly what the choices were and pick what looked good. Guess what, Dad loved it! The seared tuna is the best and the make nigiri is a close second.

I love this restaurant. Whenever I am in Seattle (about every other month) I always go to Blue C Sushi. It's not super fancy or anything, just a great place to have a meal. There is a self serve conveyor belt and a service button to summon a waiter/waitress. Every item on the conveyor belt is priced according to the plate's color. The fish is pretty good quality, especially for the price. Like I said, I love this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone in the area.

It is not a top-level sushi place, still the price is right and the staff is very nice.
