This place is AWESOME. I stopped here on a whim driving home to Boston. There were cheese, grapefruit, and butter spread samples. I bought 2 different local Vermont cheeses (Sugarbush Farms from Woodstock, VT and Woodstock Farm), herbed salami from San Francisco (Columbus), and some crackers to go with it. I also had to grab a 25 cent dog bone.

hit or miss with regard to the food at the takeout counter..some things are tasty, some bland..their cooked meats are tasty, but meatloaf can be dry..sandwiches are tasty..side dishes need salt..verrrrrry expensive, and verrrrry busy and uncomfortable to move around with people pushing in to you no matter where you go..worth stopping by for picnic food if in the area.

This place has the best blueberry and apple pie! We come to Woodstock every year and we made sure to stop by and get the pies.

This place was a little hidden gem for me over the past weekend! I was craving fresh fruit so bad and we just so happen to pass this market on our way to Long Trail Brewery. I stopped in and was amazed with everything they had to offer, fresh produce, baked goods, cheeses and spreads I could go on and on. They also had a lot of cut up fruit to sample which was nice. I ended up with some really beautiful colored carrots, a few peaches both yellow and white, a pound of the best strawberries I have ever tasted, my favorite red and yellow cherries and white chocolate macadamia nut Tate's cookies! I went home later that night and cut up the fruit and made a delicious fruit salad that my guys couldn't stop eating! This location is a bit pricey but it's well worth it. Come check them out if you are in the area! I can't imagine you leaving disappointed.

Attended the Naked Table Lunch in Woodstock this afternoon and the Woodstock Farmer's Market served the meal. It was outstanding!

I do love this place, although it is very expensive. There bagels are really delicious! I get one with veggie cream cheese, onions, tomatoes, and sprouts! I also really enjoy there soups! The "New York Minute" is a must order item. It consist of fresh salmon, cream cheese on a toasted bagel. Beware! You will leave the store with more than one item! Everything is very fresh and flavorful! They always have new exciting products you don't see anywhere else. It's generally very busy at the market! So waiting for your order may take a little longer then you expected. It's a very nice place with great quality products! They really should lower there prices though! The Farmers Market is way over priced! It is however worth the stop. You can find some really good stuff for a decent price. Also the quality is very good!

Sandwich was good - I got the chicken salad with smoked cheddar cheese. It was super packed though on a Friday afternoon - I was here on vacation and it felt like a crowded NYC market. Not my idea of a relaxing shopping experience. It was nice though to sit out at a picnic table overlooking the river. Going here right before I returned home certainly eased me back in to crowded New York!

Excellent quality sandwitches and salads. Impressive selection of olives and decent cheese options. We stopped there by accident on our way from central vt to NH and this was one of the best road stops ever. They have a wonderful picnic area in the back overlooking the river. Just beautiful.

Can't say enough about how much I love Woodstock Farmers Market! You cannot go wrong with any of the prepared foods or bakery items but the tuna mac and snikerdoodle cookies are definitely among my favorites. The produce is also always great and fresh and the flowers and plants for sale are always beautiful.

Probably the only breakfast place in Woodstock that isn't outrageously overpriced... great sandwiches, great prices, great service! A short 2 min drive from the town center... Well worth the effort!!! Wish we were staying in Woodstock another day just to come here again!

If only I could pick this place up and plop it right in the middle of my town. It's perfect. First, amazing produce selection. And, samples, samples every where. Tomatoes, cantaloupe, peaches, grilled shrimp with locally made BBQ sauce. I was full by the time I made my sandwich order. The sandwiches, I will add, are the #1 reason to come here. I mean, who thinks "Farmer's Market" when they thing great sandwiches? I do, now. They have a huge sandwich menu catering to the vegan and the carnivore. You literally have to read every description of every sandwich up on the board before you make your choice - and even then you'll still have sandwich envy when you see what the folks with you order. I had the Linus which consisted of grilled chicken breast, Asian slaw and peanut sauce on a tortilla. My husband had the Turkey in the slaw which consisted of turkey, Swiss, Russian dressing, and coleslaw on rye. They were monstrous in both size and flavor. Mine was a little more spicy than I anticipated but I'm not one to shy away from spice. I devoured it, rationalizing the entire time since we had done a pretty epic hike that morning. We took our sandwiches outside and sat at one of their picnic tables. Oh, they also have an incredible selection of chips (we bought kettle chips cooked in avocado oil) and drinks. I had some sort of watermelon flavored water. We also took some Thai noodle salad with us as part of that night's dinner. Super friendly staff too. This is the kind of place you think about long after you're gone.

We stumbled upon this place after skiing Killington and heading to our hotel. It is a cute little market that has a really great selection. I felt like it was the perfect mix of everything-produce, meat, baked items, dairy. For being in a smaller town, it had a wonderful cheese selection. It rivaled some large chain stores in cities. A lot of higher end dry goods as well. Prices weren't terrible but weren't great either. I felt like the cheese prices were comparable to what we pay at our local grocery chain. They stop making sandwiches at 4, which stinks for someone coming off of the mountain! So I can not comment on those, like the other reviews. The descriptions sounded good though. We had a lemon blueberry muffin. It was good. I also grabbed a few cookies and caramelita bars. They are made in-house per the staff. The caramelita bars were rich. My husband really liked them, too buttery for me. The cookies were pretty good. Really good coffee too! We will be back next time we ski Killington.

Long a fantastic resource for sandwiches, good produce and general delicious local eats, the post-Hurricane Irene renovation (see here for how ridiculous the flooding was: youtube.com/watch?v=2sqn… ) is fantastic. It's so open! And there's booze! So yes, in addition to the above, there's a great cheese selection, lovely fancy chocolate, prepared foods and friendly service. Love to WFM.

WFM is the best at everything they do . Best produce, meats, cheeses and gourmet items of all sorts. Their sandwiches are worth a drive for.

This place has a lot of different items, but the selection is not much. This place is very very pricey, which deters me from coming here again.

So happy to see that WFM has recovered from Irene! When I went down on Memorial Day weekend, the market was alive and buzzing once again. They've remodeled and changed some things around, so it was great to explore the new setup. And, of course, I brought home some of the amazing products, including red wine marmalade (a must try!). And then there's the sandwiches; oh those wonderful, wonderful sandwiches! Best in the state, no question. You cannot leave here without trying one. I recommend: The Linus, The Lucy, Sue's Song & Swing, and Moonlight in Vermont. I can't wait to go back!

Best source in Woodstock for locally raised & produced foods (maple syrup, meats, vegetables, breads, dairy products, wines, cheeses, etc.) plus a variety of other high-quality products. Their selection is amazing considering the size of the store, which is fairly small: I think of it as an extremely well-curated pantry. WFM also imports selected products from Italy, so there's a great selection of olive oils & vinegars plus other products. In addition, WFM makes great sandwiches, a variety of salads, and hot foods (lunch and dinner entrees, breakfast sandwiches, sides, soups) and great baked goods, some of which are made on-premises. Nice selection of imported and Vermont wines and beers, great bread selection. Excellent, friendly service, too.

I LOVE this place. love love love love love it. They have tons of organic/local produce/products/meats/etc! Vermont made everything. Granola, syrup (duh), chicken, pasta, meats, yogurt, butter, etc. Its great. Their coffee is awesome and their sandwiches are out of this world. Its just great. So glad to have such a great shop where I live!

Went here and grabbed some prepared foods from the deli counter. As always, the potato salad of the day, which was excellent. I also loved loved loved the Thai peanut-sauce pasta. I wanted some protein with it, so they fixed me up with a few slices of chicken breast -- tasty and not dry at all. I also had an excellent edamame and soba noodle salad, which I am craving at this very moment... I have also accidentally ventured into the dessert area, where I accidentally ordered some individually-portioned cheesecake and a chocolate cake -- both which were quite good, but not enough to tempt me back there again.

It doesn't get any better than the Woodstock Farmer's Market! Some locals call it the Farmer's Mark-Up, but that's really not fair. It's no more expensive than Whole Foods or any other gourmet market and without it here, my family would have starved for years! There are always lots of specials and things on sale, too. Everybody who works here is ridiculously nice! They get to know their customers, referring to us by name, and stopping to chat. We don't just go here for the amazing food and produce, we go here for the experience! Free samples are ALWAYS on hand, they have tasting events, and they are huge supporters/philanthropists in the town and never say, "no" to helping out a cause or event. Patrick, Stacy, Amelia, Melanie, Brandon, Jim, and all the rest of the gang....THANK YOU!!!

Expensive, but I love it. Their produce is always the best in town and the little deli portion is one of my favorites. There's nothing better than their soups when it's -10 degrees in January! Since the remodel after Irene, the place is much less hectic. Checking out used to take forever but they've revamped that whole area.

As far as Gourmet up-scale grocery shops go, this place is up there. You expect a nice place like this to make sandwiches, but the BEST SANDWICH I have had in the northeast? Thank you for the delightful surprise. We hit this place up on the way back from a weekend at Killington and it was fantastic to stock up on road trip worthy items like gourmet sandwiches, Pop Chips, Pellegrino Aranciata and some dank-ass stinky Vermont cheese (better wait to get home to break into the later). One note: the address is not accurate. You drive right past the place following directions to the listed address, so just take a look at the picture posted and keep your eyes out for it (it is on the right side of the road driving east on 4 away from Killington)

Local organic food. I love supporting those smaller farmers. The food is high quality. We loved browsing. We bought, but didn't buy a lot as the prices were a bit expensive. I had a yummy sandwich and some fresh fruit. The staff and customers are quite friendly.

I can't pass through Woodstock without stopping here. It is a wonderful place to buy premium brands of specialty foods, and to enjoy the bounties of Vermont. Their produce section is a harvest! Cheeses -- my favorite finds come from here. (Bring back the petit basque!!) Now that they have expanded the store (after the devastating flood that destroyed some of their neighbors), the place has come back stronger and better than ever. The deli counter staff is friendly and nice; not so much the check-out staff, but this is Vermont -- a good state full of good people but not particularly friendly ones. Don't drive by WFM -- stop and enjoy the rapture.

I'm a little surprised by the really high reviews for this market. I was expecting more. Considering the whole area is all about local, I thought there would be a bigger produce section. Also, their prepared food section was weak, and the dishes we ended up buying for a small gathering was mediocre at best. One of the woman behind the deli counter could have been nicer to my friend I was there with. We heard her talking about her! The girl who helped me, though, was very sweet.

What can I say? The Woodstock Farmers Market is one of the reasons that made us start looking for a place to buy in this gorgeous little town. My Husband I went for a Fall visit, spent a week in Woodstock and to a person when we asked where the best place to food shop was they all said the WFM. So we went.......again and again and again. This market is the soul of the town, people gather just to sip coffee and catch up, they take home ready prepared meals or sit by the river on warmer days enjoying their lunch. On Sundays the town scrambles to the Market to await their divine croissants, fresh from the oven. Their soups are out of this world, their sandwiches as good as you hear, friendly service and wonderful gourmet items to shop for, seriously, when we walked into the Market for the first time something changed, we got the essence of Woodstock and how much we love the place. If all goes well, we will be closing on our little place and will be making daily trips to the Market. This is what small town living is all about, great food, great people and local gossip. Love it.

The best sandwiches EVER. So vegan-friendly. We're so glad this market and deli are back after Tropical Storm Irene had her way with it. The food is as delicious as ever. Great for stopping in for meals when traveling, or dining outside when weather permits, as well as picking up groceries.

The WFM won the 2009 Retailer of the Year. I guess this is a really big deal and it doesn't surprise me. Their food is healthy, fresh, clean and you can tell that everyone that works there is passionate about what they do and the products they sell. The produce, fish and meat departments are farm fresh. They have a wide variety of sandwiches from vegetarian with roasted portobellos or a spicy Mexican to a sandwich loaded with fresh roast beef. They have a new Italian section and an amazing bakery department. Not to mention the beautiful fresh flowers. We are truly blessed to have a market as special as this one in a small market like Woodstock. A must visit!

A bit on the expensive side, but it is really well organized and has all of your basic needs for a gourmet meal in the mountains. Lots of fresh produce and local where possible. Good fresh seafood selection. The cheese selection was pretty good. Lots of little candies and spreads that are very interesting. They even had maple bacon lollipops from some Texas candy company (man bait flavor) when we were there!

Great service. Amazing stock. Fresh food to die for. And chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate and wine and other temptations necessary to make any day or special event one to remember. You guys are truly awesome!

They have a great selection of VT cheese. Their bakery is great and so is their prepared food. Great tshirts too. In the fall the apples are second to none. Only drawback is no public bathroom.

I hate to give this place three stars because I had really high expectations, but I think the sandwich I got was just not the best one I could have ordered. It was the "Angela's NoHo Sandwich" which has grilled portobellos and onions, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and a vinaigrette. It was ok, but quite soggy. Everything on it was fresh and the ingredients were all nice, the bread just got totally over soaked, might have just been too much vinaigrette on the sandwich. That said, I would be willing to give this place another try because they have quite an extensive vegetarian sandwich menu, and I would like to try something else.

The homemade sandwiches aren't the only noteworthy thing about this local market; though if you find yourself coming here, you should definitely NOT pass them by! In my various trips to the Woodstock Farmer's Market, I've been able to locate gourmet foods that I've never been able to find anywhere else. In addition, the meat/deli and bakery counters offer some delicious offerings beyond their famous sandwiches (my personal favorite being the "bow Thai pasta").
