After the highly rated diner up the street, Shari's Place, turned out not to take credit cards and without a Bank of America ATM anywhere within 40 miles, my wife and I stopped at Woodbridge Cafe for breakfast on the way home from Killington. Big, expensive mistake. We were the only folks in the restaurant (11am on a Sunday), and the server immediately tried upselling us, inundating us with a list of fancy coffee drinks and flavor shot options. All we wanted was a plain cup of coffee and an orange juice, not every flavor in Willy Wonka's factory. The server asked if I would like regular or dark roast, I opted for dark. Moments later, she returned with orange juice for my wife, and an awkwardly shaped gauntlet full of coffee. The juice, a $2.29 menu item, was in a glass no larger than a shot glass. As we later found out, "plain coffee" was billed as a "Caffe Americano" at $3.75 (that's $0.25 less than their flagship latte!). The food was incredibly bland and overpriced for what it was. I had the President Coolidge omelette, which left much to be desired in terms of quality and quantity. The veggies in the omelette did not seems as though they had been cooked (I for one am not a fan of crunchy things in an omelette, unless it's bacon). At $7.99, it was a whole dollar more than my wife's 2-eggs, sausage and toast which included homefries. It would stand to reason that the more expensive omelette would be a pretty significant meal, especially when the homefries were an add-on for the more expensive dish. For the extra amount spent on the incredibly mushy and under-flavored cubes of potatoes that were gently worked over on the grill, I'd have rather kept my hard earned $2.99 or stopped for a hearty second breakfast at the Dunkin Donuts over in Quechee before hopping back on the highway to civilization. When it came time to pay the bill, the awkward and chatty server had already been by the table 3 or 4 times offering us more food. We told her we really wanted to get back on the road, and tried to sell us a $40 pie, muffins, scones, etc. We declined and just opted to pay our bill. She then made it a point to show us the notice that was pinned under the glass on the table, explaining that we'd be charged a 3% supplemental charge for using a credit card. Hello? It's the 21st century, and aren't they supposed to put a sign on the door that says this is the case? We paid, made a bee-line for our Jetta and headed back to New Hampshire. Normally I'd say that if someone is going to take advantage of me, the least they could do is buy me breakfast after. I'd be keen on that, but only if the breakfast came from a place with decent food, nice atmosphere and without a server that was more aggressive than a used car salesman.

Gotta tell ya...some of these reviews are way out in left field! The food at the Woodbridge, for me, has ALWAYS been great! And has aways been consistent in quality and flavor. Sometimes you have to wonder what kind of day these people were having before they walked in. One of the wait staff is gone now and that person may have been the impetus for a few of these. If anyone takes me up on the invite to the Woodbridge, please seek out the owner Amy. She is friendly, always provides service with pride, and cares about your experience. One of my favorite places! Trust this.

While the food was palatable there was nothing to write home about. The bill however was astonishing... 30$ for two people for breakfast! Both of us had juice, I omelette and toast, and home fries. The omelette was 7.99 each, the home fries 2.49 each and the glass of juice was 3.50 each. As the juice was tropicana and poured from a jug, not fresh squeezed, that felt a bit overpriced. She said the menu was limited due to baking all day... But the bread that was homemade was terrible. I'd drive farther to another place up the road.

Nice atmosphere, service was friendly. Food came out timely and was hot. The homemade hash was tasty. Overall a good meal. $20 with tip for one person seems a bit high. I would come back on occasion but the cost is too high to make it a regular stop.

My wife and I saw this place on restaurant.com , bought a certificate and decided to make the drive. The place has a cool little atmosphere, but that was about the only thing the cafe had to offer. Service was terrible and really rude, they seemed upset that we were using restaurant.com (if you don't like it, don't list your place on it), and in the end they actually included gratuity on our bill for a check for 2 people when we were one of two parties dining at the cafe. The sad thing is that we probably would have tipped more than they charged us. Being a server is a tough and often frustrating job. We love hole-in-the-wall places, but this one was not a good experience.

NOT WORTH THE PRICE. This place is well decorated and very clean. The wait staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. That's all the positive I have. I ordered their seafood chowder and grilled chicken salad. When the chowder arrived I could see celery floating on the top. That's not usually something I'm looking for in a seafood chowder, but I was willing to give it a try. The chowder clearly did not have fresh ingredients and was watery. All I could taste were this darn pieces of celery. When the salad arrived, I was visually pleased. That's where the pleasure stopped. The grilled chicken was not freshly cooked and was lacking flavor. When I order grilled chicken, I kinda think is going to be cooked just before you serve it...not the day before. When I dug into the salad itself...OMG...more CELERY. Are you kidding me! It's bad enough you destroyed my palate with the soup. At this point I started looking around thinking I was candid camera. To my disappointment, that's how they serve it. Maybe the grow it out back and had to figure a way to get rid of it. If you drive a few more miles, you will have many more choices in the next town. Don't waste your time unless you have no other option.

Not worth $30 for breakfast for 2 people! Service is overbearing & listening to the owner scream at her employees is horrid. Home fries were undercooked & my egg on my sandwich was severely over cooked. Skip this.

Not sure where all these other people were eating. Stopped here, didn't have to wait on some crazy line, had a delicious breakfast. Everything was exactly as described on the menu, the hash browns should be brought to other diners to show them what hash browns should be. Prices are reasonable. Waitress made no mistakes. Smoothie was excellent. Coffee was $3 and change, but was fresh and delicious. There was a small charge for refills, but it's a freshly made espresso drink, not just poured from some giant pot that's been sitting all morning. Would definitely go again and would definitely recommend.

Charged me for a refill on coffee when I wasn't even done with the first cup! $3 already for a standard cup of coffee then charge me again to fill it half way!

Cute, yummy little place to eat. The staff is friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I stopped here for breakfast on our last day in Vermont and were so disappointed that we didn't eat here every morning!! Food was fresh and the coffee was amazing! The prices were fair since everything was baked and made fresh everyday. A must go for anyone staying in the area!

Terrible. Stopped in for lunch as we were driving thru. Food was extremely bland but cost a fortune. They charged 7.99 just for burger and fries but then another 3 dollars just to add some puny bacon to it. The orange juice serving was barely above a shot glass but was expensive. I had plain coffee at 2.25$ and then when I asked for some to go, they charged me another $2.25. Very unimpressed.

I wanted to like this place more than I did. Cheerful, colorful exterior and promising menu. But the quality of the food (we had breakfast) was mediocre and overpriced. I'm all for Yankee frugality but I think the owners are too focused on saving pennies. The French toast was a couple of slices of supermarket bread for $7. I've paid less for a latte in Manhattan. And don't forget the credit card surcharge. I know it's tough to run a small local restaurant and I'm enormously sympathetic to those challenges. But you can get a better meal somewhere else.
