It's with regret that I'm not leaving 5 stars, as I really did enjoy the entire experience. It was the food - let me explain. We ordered from their "small plates' and appetizer menus - 4 dishes in all for the two of us. With 1 drink each, it was right around $50 - not bad, all things considered. One of the Apps was the mussels - which were very good. Prepared with sausage and peperchini's - there was the right amount of 'heat' to the dish, which I really enjoyed. The problem I had with this dish is that over 1/3 of the shells in the dish were empty. I hoped I would find the missing meat at the bottom of the broth - but none to be found. Very disappointing. The next issue I had was with my Caprese Salad. Here it is in the height of fresh tomato season with some of the best I have eaten being purchased from local farm stands I was greatly disappointed in the supermarket quality tomato that was far from being a vibrant red color. The crab ravioli was also very good - but disappointed that there was not any sauce served with it. We also had the pulled pork tacos - they were very good and the house speciality cocktails were awesome as well. The Ambiance is over the top - really doesn't matter if you eat inside or out - a very nice setting. We were on the patio and did enjoy the beautiful weather and the sights and sounds of Woodstock. Finally, we could not have asked for better service - from the hostess who seated us to the waitress who took our order and served us and the bus boy who kept the table clear and the water glasses full. The staff worked well together with the goal of providing an exceptional experience - which made up for the food issues described above. All in all, highly recommended for anyone traveling along US 4 in Central Vermont

Ordered take out and the portions were deplorable even by European standards. There was plastic found in a salad. The menu online was incorrect and the items advertised were not available. This review is only getting 1 star not even 3.141... I would actually rather do geometry than eat food from Pi again. In case the owners endeavor to read this review, a word of advice: do not cook the arugula with the pizza, put it on after. Sincerely, Insanely Disappointed

Yummy sand which! BLTA and tenet club both amazing! Had hummus and pita for appetizer. Pits was overly crispy but hummus was wonderful!

This had the worst pizza I've ever had. Everything else was delicious. The offensive part wasn't the bad pizza but the staffs reaction to out honest reply when she asked us how it was...she kept telling us how so many people liked it...yet the only 3 people on the patio ALL agreed it was the WORST pizza they'd ever had. From everywhere and anywhere. Then the manager came out and continued to defend the awful product and basically insult us as if we were mistaken and acted as if we had good taste we would have liked it. If you like cardboard with no toppings...Enjoy!! Ps the staff tried to insinuate that if I knew thin crust...but I do--that's all I eat. I'm an expert. From the West to the East Coast and Italy in between. And guess what, even Dominos pizza crushes this place.

Amazing pizza and salads. I went the simple route and took the marguerita pizza, but it was nothing less than amazing. Nothing better than a thin and crispy pizza!!! I would definitely go back :)

Simple but wonderful menu with a staff that was helpful and cheerful. Seated us promptly and even on a busy sat night drinks came out in only minutes. I highly recommend and hope they are here when I return next year. Side note: the pizza looks amazing

My mom and I had an early lunch here one day in August. Our server was extremely pleasant and polite. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside on their patio which was lovely. My mom ordered a turkey sandwich which was quite generous. I ordered the BLT. It came with 1 (yes, one) piece of bacon. Now, it was definitely quality and delicious bacon, but who makes a BLT with only one slice of bacon! I mentioned the dilemma to our waitress, and she promptly brought me a few more pieces. I almost never complain at restaurants, but seriously. One piece??

A visit to this restaurant was one of the worst experiences. The big sign which said "Tapas martinis wine" made us believe that the place has tapas and drinks. We asked the hostess about it and she vaguely mentioned that yes, in addition to this actually being an Italian restaurant they also have some small dishes. How misleading! The so called tapas turned out to be a limited happy hour dishes. The name tapas wasn't even on the menu. No resemblance to the known tapas. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Service was slow and unprofessional. The noise that the servers and the bartender were making by talking loud among themselves was annoying to say the leastand the large screen tv featuring sports channel was inappropriate for an overpriced, pretending to be a fancy Italian restaurant. How disappointing. I will never go there again.

Sadly in the two years since I've been here the food went downhill big time. Atmosphere was still nice, but the pizza was so salty and oily that it was nearly inedible. We got two pies and both were oily salty messes. A real bummer.

Great spot for some inspired thin crust pizza, and simple salads a and appetizers. The wine list is good enough for us and we were pleased that the mark-ups were reasonable. We chose the restaurant because we couldn't do another "pub" meal, and wanted to try something else. The staff is really nice - pretty quick service too. Our fare was light - salads (Caesar, Spinach with Gorgonzola), and a Rustica pizza. Salads were good, pie was very good. We've made reservations or a group in a few weeks - good food, good service, and fair prices much appreciated.

We were looking for something casual to eat before attending a local sporting event. Although not many reviews they were good so gave it a try. We had the Sausage and Mushroom pizza and it was great, really good. I like, pizza and eat a lot of it. I was impressed for sure. I did not try anything else on the menu though. I don't think the service is off the charts. Not for lack of trying, just lack of experience. Our waiter was really nice.

We had a great meal here on a Sunday night. The place was almost full when we got there but the service was very good and there was no more than a normal wait for the food. The two pizzas were excellent and our friend enjoyed his orecchiette, but all agreed that my pulled chicken pappardelle was sensational and something that you don't see every day. The artichoke salad and the tapanata were also standouts. They have a very nice patio and the atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming. I thought the prices were reasonable for such good food, service and atmosphere and I am looking forward to my next meal here.

We love this gem in the heart of Woodstock. Fantastic atmosphere with delicious food, a changing wine list and fantastic staff. I stopped by a half hour before opening recently for some desert to go and despite not being open. I was graciously welcomed inside while the prepared my desert to go. The lemon cake is the best around.

Great food and service. We would definitely come back. We were a party of 5 for a late lunch on a Thursday. The hostess was gracious and apologized that we would have to wait for an indoor table. Five minutes later, we were seated. Our server Sara, immediately came over and took our drink order. The menu is not huge but includes a nice variety of meals including pizza, sandwiches, salads, and a good assortment of appetizers. We ordered the cauliflower hummus, mixed green salad, and margherita pizza. It was taking quite a bit of time for our food to come, so we asked for some bread and butter which were outstanding. The cauliflower hummus comes with toasted pita. The hummus itself was amazing - cauliflower, white beans, garlic and lemon. The pita chips were too hard and tasted a bit burnt. We decided to try it on the bread and it was a perfect combination. The mixed green salad, while small, was simple - mesclun greens with grape tomatoes and purple onion (a bit too much purple onion.) The balsamic vinaigrette dressing was outstanding. The margherita pizza, while large in diameter, is very thin crust which could make some people balk at the price ($18 for a regular pizza.) The pizza is, however, worth every penny. The ingredients are high quality and perfectly balanced. Again, this is a very thin crust pizza (probably the thinnest I have ever had), but it is excellent. If you are someone who prefers a Greek style pizza or a pizza from a chain restaurant, this is not the pizza for you. Overall a great lunch.

We went for dinner at 5:30 and we were seated immediately. Great service and food was delicious. We had the tapas plate of the Blue Crab Ravioli - YUM! Also had a spring salad that was great. We ordered the Margherita pizza and it was wonderful as well as plenty for two people!

the good news is that if you do not want to pay 22.00 for a dry pizza with little to nothing on it (and what tasted like sysco pre-shredded cheese over cooked to a crisp) you can order sushi and or tapas instead. they seem to have a bit of an identity crisis here.... i was further also confused by the french artwork scattered all about. anyway.... very overpriced, somewhat ok atmosphere outside of the strong grease/cooking smell that seemed to permeate everything. as the pizza cooled it turned to cardboard and was only edible when i asked for olive oil to re wet it. that olive oil came filled with herbs peppers and an eye watering amount of salt.... oh well. ... and plan on waiting for your food.

I imagine that the restaurant at one point was on its A-game. The music that was playing in the background was Caribbean, which does not fit in with the Italian theme throughout. When the cafe next door was closing down they were walking the trash right through the middle of the restaurant, and cleaning up the cafe just steps from our table. I understand the cafe needs to be cleaned, but you need to consider the experience of your customers. The trash - there's no way that has to be brought through the restaurant while we were eating. The food, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. Flavor was lacking from the bruschetta, and most items in the the antipasto appeared to be taken directly from the can. It just wasn't what I expected from Woodstock. Our server was fine, which was nice. She was quick with our wine and request for the check.

Went there with larger group. The pasta dishes were excellent but the pizzas were awful. We had four different pizzas. ALL were overcooked with little taste. I have eaten brick oven pizza all over the world and am very familiar with authentic Italian pizza both from the north and the South of Italy. At $17+ per pie I would never order again. So avoid if you are looking for pizza. There are a few other items on this somewhat limited menu. I would embrace those.

Shame on you. My wife and I arrived at 4:50pm to dine with you. It was 19 degrees outside. We were told by a server you don't open for 10 minutes. We asked if we could, at least, sit at the bar and were told in a stern voice by your manager- NO! You never turn a guest away. For your information, we left and just ordered a $200 bottle of wine at another restaurant.

We had the Tuscan Pizza and it was amazing. We live in Boston and were truly impressed. They have great local brews on tap (e.g. Switchback - my favorite) and the staff is friendly and fun. We met the owner and she was a joy to catch with. I'm still in shock that we found pizza that good in Woodstock.

We had a great experience eating here. We were welcomed and escorted to our table on the patio. After perusing the wine list, my husband was unsure about a particular wine, so our waiter brought him a sample. The pasta dishes we ordered were scrumptious. Our server brought us a second plate of bread when we requested it and checked in on us on a regular basis! Would definitely go back the next time we're in Woodstock.

If possible to give 0 stars, I would. Went twice in 2 weeks hoping the first time was just off. Pizza is just so so and way over priced. 2 romaine leaves in the Caesar with FAR too much dressing. Sat at a table near the restrooms where we had to observe someone from the kitchen leave the door wide open as he plunged the toilet. Nice waitress but the woman who runs the place is incredibly rude and it's apparent she treats the staff badly as well.

Pi trattoria is a fancy pizza joint. The pizzas are quite good, and if you like thin crust, you will enjoy the pizza here. However, the food is completely over priced. 17 for a plain cheese pizza, 19 and over for anything with toppings. Choices of pizzas ant huge either. The atmosphere I side is very nice as is their patio. It's just hard to get over the prices when you can get really good pizza around here for half the price.

I will start by saying that this was a busy weekend for restaurants in Woodstock. A half marathon brought in a lot of people. So, we thought there should be room for error. Having said that, our dinner experience was a true test I out patience, and we are all very patient people. We were told that they were slammed and that it would be a wait. We had no idea that it also meant not getting our drinks, or bread, in any decent length of time. Linda, our waitress seemed very flustered, and while not really apologetic, seemed to be feeling the heat. She at one point commented that "you couldn't pay me to go into that kitchen". Really? She then said she would send the owner over after we still had not gotten our dinner after an hour and a half. She then came back later and said the owner was too busy to come by. This was also not good. Linda hated that we asked for more bread- as we were starving! The food was good, but clearly it was a ridiculous wait. The place was 3/4 full- maybe they were short staffed. Not a great experience ce in any way. So, we got over that and this morning while we were running , our friend went to the cafe next door- owned by the same person-and asked what kind of muffins they had. According to our friend-she was dismissive and snarky. Now, it's confirmed. No wonder Linda didn't want to go into the kitchen! Her boss is intimidating and her disposition is atrocious. It's over for this place and I would never recommend, based on principle alone. We give it less then a year. A shame bc it has good food. Service was absolutely horrible.

This was the second time we came to this place and the experience was the same: Cocky attitude at the door, good service at the table, very long wait to get your food. It takes them over 50 minutes to cook a pie. A gourmet pizza restaurant? I don't think so... More like an overpriced, fancy, flat-bread place with cheese. Make sure you make a reservation, because they won't let-you-in even if the place is half empty. I should also mention that this used to be a dog gallery- that's right a gallery for dogs, and now they won't let a dog in there - well, that explains it all.

We've been driving by this restaurant for months, and had not tried due to the early negative reviews. I noticed the reviews were improving, so we gave it a try and boy am I glad we did. When we arrived, there was a large party with loud children near the door. We have kids, but this was a night out for the two of us. I don't know if it was coincidence, or true brilliance, but the hostess sat us far from the noise in a nice cozy corner. This isn't a typical pizza place - white table cloths and candles create a nice upscale ambiance. I would take well behaved children here, but if you're looking for a place to take the toddlers for a birthday party, there are plenty of other options. We shared a meatball appetizer, a pizza and a piece of Italian Lemon Cake (ohhhh my). The meatballs are hands down the best meatballs I have ever eaten. I want to go back right now just for meatballs. Our pizza with Vt Smoke & Cure sausage was perfect. Very thin, evenly cooked crust with a wonderful sauce. Then there was cake. Not a big dessert fan, but lemon cream cake sounded too good to pass up. The cake was light, moist and fabulous. I've been looking up recipes trying to find a way to recreate it. All in all, a wonderful evening. We'll be back.

I'll start with the best thing first, the pizza. I know most of the people gave it bad reviews, but the pizza really is delicious. It's paper thin, and so tasty. The wine list was really good and fairly priced, not marked up a bunch. Those were definitely the highlights of the meal. The salads are tiny for what you pay, and mainly just greens, and the service and ambiance are also just decent. I'd go back for the pizza.

Wish I pre-gamed eating dinner before coming here! We've been waiting nearly two hours and haven't gotten anything to eat. I ordered a salad and was told an hour in that they ran out, and was told our pizza was coming out right away- that was over an hour ago.... What a shame because I remembered the food being good. Worst service ever.

Stopped by here for dinner tonight. Grabbed a seat at the bar, and ordered a margarita pizza and a glass of wine. While I was happily enjoying my salad, the manager shared her Sparkling Shiraz from her secret stash. Oh so good, and according to the staff, she does not share. I picked a good night! The pizza was good, the service great, and the wine quite nice!

This is a new restaurant in Woodstock, VT, where we spent a week on vacation. The menu of gourmet pizzas looked really good and easy for our 8 year-old to deal with. Well, the food was only okay, not outstanding. The sausage and fennel pizza was essentially tasteless. The bacon and prosciutto pizza was salty and the bacon was in really big chunks. I can handle a few mis-step on adjusting flavor and taste issue but these guys seem to have a real problem with their business. According to the waitress, their pizza oven only holds 3 pizzas at a time. That is a big failing for a pizza oven. It explains why it took so long for our two pizzas to arrive. Other diners had similar experiences. We were told that everything was "backed up". The bar was backed up, the salad chef was backed up, and the pizzas were backed up. So, if you go, settle in for a long wait. On the plus side, they had some really nice wines by the glass.

I cannot judge the quality of the food, as we were not offered a table. The restaurant was COMPLETELY EMPTY and only a couple of table were occupied on the terrace. We wanted to sit down in the mid-afternoon for a refreshment and a snack, and were told by the male host that they do not give table for such things, only for dinner... at 4:30pm ?!? Why are they even open then ? To add insult to injury, the attitude of the host was really snarky and condescending.

Horrible experience! My husband and I had one of our worst dining experiences ever here last Saturday evening. All we wanted was salad and pizza. Our salads arrived after waiting 30 minutes and reminding the bus boy that we were waiting for salads. The waitress was overworked and trying to take care of too many tables, therefore was not easily found. Salads were OK, but certainly not worth the $8 and $9 charged. We ordered 2 pizzas - one pizza arrived about 30 minutes after we were done with the salads and were told that the other would be out shortly. When we did not see it after finishing the first pie and waiting another 20 minutes, we were told that the kitchen forgot the pizza and they were making it, it would be out in 5 minutes - well 20 minutes later still no pizza. My husband and I both notified the hostess of the ongoing problems with our meal and service, she had the nerve to turn her heels and not even apologize. She acted as though she was doing us a giant favor to allow us to to eat at this poorly run, and expensive, eatery. We never did get the second pizza and our bill came with both pizzas on it. And once we got the corrected bill, we were surprised that there was no consideration given for this poor experience - maybe our beer and wine should have been on the house???? We do not recommend this restaurant, you can do much better in Woodstock. I do not think I have ever been treated so poorly while dining out - avoid this restaurant.

On our way home we decided to stop here, the ambiance is pretty cool here. Today was the Ugly Sweater celebration along with karaoke, we saw some pretty interesting sweater specimens so far...I ordered the olive Tapanata spread, I hope I remembered that correctly, because it was good, but I love olives so its hard to give it a bad review...husband got the meatballs and said they were pretty good, I got the spicy sausage and fennel penne pasta, not bad, the sausage was good, with a nice bite to it. An offer of a refill on my soda would not have been amiss... Service was fine, as we were on a time constraint it was slightly slower than we had hoped, especially with not too many people in restaurant yet, no doubt waiting for the food shelter benefit to begin... I liked the look of the inside, maybe a tad too many conflicting scented candles, but I have a sensitive nose and the battle that was going on in that arena was a tad much for me, not that I am opposed to good smells, but in a restaurant the smells of food should be vying for my attention first and foremost! Overall enjoyed our visit, and the pizza is next on my list of thing to try!

NOT kid friendly. Food is way too esoteric and expensive and they are inflexible about mixing pizza toppings or menu items. Not a thing, but be warned. The warm food was good and the pizza crust amaaazing and the salads were okay.

Great food, poor service. Went here for dinner yesterday with my wife. Tuscan pizza was awesome - worth the money and well deserves 5 stars. Seating was tight and close to other guests which made it difficult to have a nice conversation without feeling like I was also talking to strangers. The service was poor, waitress might have been new to waitressing because she had a sense of awkwardness and didn't smile. We had to ask for a dessert menu when she offered to bring us the check. Turtle cheesecake was delicious. I asked for a sambuca and was given a confused look. She had to look at the menu to see what I said after having to ask me a second time. At this point I wanted to leave because the cheesecake was already served and devoured and had yet to see my drink (both items ordered together). I don't know or care what happened because there isn't an excuse for a drink to take over 10 minutes to be poured. There was more on the outside of the glass than on the inside but at least they remembered the 3 coffee beans. Next time I will call the pizza order in for take out.

Absolutely Impressed w/ Pi Brick Oven Trattoria!! We were greeted the moment we walked in by any and all staff in the dining room who seemed genuinely accommodating about our questions before seating ..we decided to sit at the bar..talk about a great wine list! And even more fantastic menu...we ordered the poached pear salad and the antipasti to start. Amazing! Then we ordered the Tuscan pie and the arugula pie both were unbelievable, the crust was thin crunchy and flavorful so ya, absolutely delicious to the last bite!! Our bartender was Fabulous! Brittany had great recommendations and great pairing skills as far as wine w dinner was concerned ..she had a great balance of personality and professionalism which in my opinion is hard to find. Her sense of humor was hilarious wich kept us at the bar for 3 hrs! After dinner she recommended that we try some of their in house made gelato and a Belini out on the patio..which we didn't have to think twice about...the gelato was a little hard but great and the outdoor seating was relaxing (always a fan of people watching). I'd recommend giving Pi a try ;)

The food is fantastic. The dishes are pricey but mostly worth the money. I rated at three stars because they don't allow take out orders over the phone. It seemed a little pretentious and an underhanded way to make customers come in and order more lucrative --for them-- alcoholic beverages while you wait for your take out.

Let me start off by saying that I think 3 stars is somewhat generous, More like two, but I dont want this new restaurant to get a bad rap, especially since its new. But My wife and I came here for dinner on our last night in Woodstock, VT. I was told that the restaurant opened up 7wks ago, which was fine. The atmosphere was kind of cool, a lot of open space in the center of the restaurant, but I attributed the setup to be due to the restaurant just opening recently. My wife and I started off with the Caprice Salad, which was very good. Their menu for entrees however, ONLY HAD PIZZA. So figured, ok, this is the only thing they do, so hopefully, like a good business, they better do it perfectly. except, it wasn't so perfect. the Margharita Pizza that we ordered was actually pretty gross. Which sucks for two reasons, one, we were starving. and two, I HATE giving bad reviews, I hate being that type of person. The poor waiter was asking if we wanted to take the pizza home, and my wife and I insisted that we didn't. I don't know what it was about the pizza that I didn't like. it was pretty greesy for one. It had no taste whatsoever, Maybe I was tasting the oil of the pizza, I'm not sure, but it really had no taste. the Crust was the best part about the pizza. Service was good though, Waiter was really nice and pleasant. I would give it another shot though, perhaps a different pizza might have a bit more taste.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants anywhere. Great and attentive service, nice ambiance, and most importantly, phenomenal food. From their antipastis to pastas to pizzas, we fully enjoyed the Trattoria. We had the eggplant caponata which was just delicious with perfectly baked bread and a wonderful eggplant mixture topping. The pasta was perfectly done, the cheese had just the right consistency, and the sun-dried tomatoes or slices of cheese that would find themselves on our forks were absolute treats. Finally the pizza was amazing. We had the Quattro Stagione without prosciutto which was great. The crust was the best I have had anywhere, where it was crisp, but not at all burned, and the toppings were great. Being Chicagoans having eaten at some of our famous Italian restaurants which we take so much pride in, I have say that the Trattoria definitely tops them. What a great restaurant!

My wife and I live in Woodstock and dine out frequently. We were looking forward to trying the italian restaurant ,Pi, last evening for the first time. Not realizing that reservations are advisable, we went in and asked for a table for two. The place was packed, but the hostess found us a very nice table. She left us with our menus, wine list and water. The menu included quite a few gourmet pizzas, several interesting pasta dishes and a nice array of salads...but if I had stood on the table and done an Irish jig I don't think they would have noticed. We were never were served. I tried making eye contact with two waitresses and the bus boy to no avail. Diners who were seated at the table next to us 15 minutes after we arrived were served immediately. Eventually, I sat sideways in my chair and flailed both arms wildly to the wait staff, with no result. After waiting half an hour, my wife volunteered to seek out the hostess to ask her if she could find a server willing to tend to our table. I, however, had had enough! We got up and left (unnoticed of course) and walked down the street to the Red Rooster restaurant in the Woodstock Inn, where we were promptly served. By now maybe someone has noticed our empty water glasses and wondered how they got there.

The food is great. People from all over the area are coming there to have the high end gourmet pizza. My family eats there often since we are local and I would recommend it highly.

One piece??

Ordered take out and the portions were deplorable even by European standards. There was plastic found in a salad. The menu online was incorrect and the items advertised were not available. This review is only getting 1 star not even 3.141... I would actually rather do geometry than eat food from Pi again. In case the owners endeavor to read this review, a word of advice: do not cook the arugula with the pizza, put it on after. Sincerely, Insanely Disappointed

Yummy sand which! BLTA and tenet club both amazing! Had hummus and pita for appetizer. Pits was overly crispy but hummus was wonderful!

We went for dinner at 5:30 and we were seated immediately. Great service and food was delicious. We had the tapas plate of the Blue Crab Ravioli - YUM! Also had a spring salad that was great. We ordered the Margherita pizza and it was wonderful as well as plenty for two people!

Nice waitress but the woman who runs the place is incredibly rude and it's apparent she treats the staff badly as well.

the good news is that if you do not want to pay 22.00 for a dry pizza with little to nothing on it (and what tasted like sysco pre-shredded cheese over cooked to a crisp) you can order sushi and or tapas instead. they seem to have a bit of an identity crisis here.... i was further also confused by the french artwork scattered all about. anyway.... very overpriced, somewhat ok atmosphere outside of the strong grease/cooking smell that seemed to permeate everything. as the pizza cooled it turned to cardboard and was only edible when i asked for olive oil to re wet it. that olive oil came filled with herbs peppers and an eye watering amount of salt.... oh well. ... and plan on waiting for your food.
