If you are looking for the quintessential New England bed and breakfast, you will be very happy with the Ardmore Inn. You are treated like family from the second you arrive until long after you left (I'll explain further down). The room we stayed in was comfortable and equipped well for a nice stay. No TV, but I feel that would be counterproductive to what people are looking for. There were pumpkin cookies and cider in the lobby, the place smelled like what the holiday season should smell like (I didn't know there was a specific smell to a holiday season, until I stayed at the Ardmore), but don't worry nothing is overdone. I have to admit I was slightly apprehensive of eating breakfast with everyone who is staying there (we had quite an evening the night before at a rehearsal dinner), and I wasn't looking forward to the open discussion forum that a group breakfast presents. However, the breakfast was excellent, the setup was great! Conversation was engaging and fun. A week after we left, I realized I had forgotten to pack my specialized shaving cream and lather brush. I left a message at the Ardmore to see if I had indeed left it there. I got a call back a few days later to confirm my San Diego address, and the proprietor FedEx'd my items back to me at no charge. Not only at no charge, but she put a nice note thanking us for our stay! Talk about going above and well beyond her duties. The only time this has happened with me before has been my parents sending me stuff I left at their place when visiting....hence the comment in the opening paragraph. If you're going to Woodstock, VT, I firmly believe you will not have a full authentic experience if you chose to stay somewhere other than the Ardmore. Trust me...you will enjoy it!!

My girlfriend and I stayed here one night in our way to Killington. When we arrived Charlotte gave us a run down of the restaurants in town and even had them organized in distance to the inn. There were cookies and cider available, and a great living area with fireplace. Our room was fantastic and romantic. The only room on the first floor, it was equipped with a gas stove fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and large shower. The breakfast in the morning was so delicious and very filling! Scones, pancakes, eggs, fruit, coffee. Everything was prepared so well. Overall, Very cozy and warm with great hospitality. We want to come back for a weekend and spend the time reading and relaxing. The town of Woodstock is also very quaint and has great restaurants and shops. Having the inn within walking distance to these things was a great advantage to our stay.

Our stay at the Ardmore was fantastic. My boyfriend and I arrived a little before check-in on Saturday and the inn was so close to the town that we could easily walk around and shop for a bit before our room was ready. When we got back Charlotte was so friendly and accommodating telling us all about what to do in Woodstock and showing us around her home. There was homemade cupcakes and hot chocolate ready in the dining room and a fire going in the living room (which was fully stocked with games and books) at all times. The room was clean and perfect and because it was Valentine's Day she even left us some beautiful chocolate strawberries and a small bottle of champagne chilling in the room. The breakfast in the morning is AMAZING; you will not be disappointed. All in all it was a great stay and I recommend the Ardmore to anyone looking to visit Woodstock!

My wife and I have stayed here twice now, and each time we have come away agreeing that this is a positively delightful place to stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed, but that's true of many other inns and hotels. What makes the Ardmore extra special are the little touches and flourishes that took a bit of extra care and forethought on the part of the inn keepers (Charlotte and her husband, whose name escapes me at the moment, very nice people!) that really make this Inn shine. As a for instance, we were staying for our anniversary this last weekend, and found a bottle of Champagne chilling in our room, awaiting our arrival. That's just one over the top example though - fresh baked cookies and hot tea or cider are almost always available in the living room, and there's a lovely sitting room/study where a comfy fire blazes during the winter months. A review of the Ardmore wouldn't be complete without mentioning the food - the breakfasts are positively out of this world! These folks really know how to cook, and when you add in all the locally grown and produced ingredients, it's enough to make a decidedly non morning person like myself look forward to an early breakfast :) Another feature here is location. The Ardmore is located a few steps from lovely Woodstock village center, with shopping, great food, and depending on when you go, events happening in the evening. We'll definitely be back, and folks should take advantage of Charlotte's own 'Economic Stimulus' package - some very attractive rates right now.

beautiful home! beautiful town! room was completely cozy and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! charlotte, the inn keeper was the sweetest thing and was very knowledgable about everything near by. home has a 'library' room with many of good books as well as a few board games where you can sit in the comfy chairs and read by the fireplace. it was a short walk to the 'town' of woodstock where there are many of little stores to see. even a close bar to have a few cold ones. such a pleasant stay.

Like so many of the wonderful Inns my wife and I have stayed in the Ardmore Inn is perfectly appointed but host Charlotte makes the experience so extra special. My wife and I both work in the hospitality industry and were blown away by Charlotte's flawless, solo execution of a sumptuous four-course breakfast for nine guests, each of whom were offered four choices of entree, sides, juices and hot beverages. She never even batted an eye when a ninth guest, who hadn't planned on eating, showed up at the last minute. She also offered us just exactly the amount of help that we needed; including great suggestions and advice for fully enjoying our time in Woodstock. If you stay in B & Bs often, you may know what a truly precious quality this is. We've had many otherwise wonderful B & B experiences turned sour by pushy, odd or over-bearing hosts. The rates are beyond reasonable, especially given the prime location and the competitor rates for this destination spot.
