Really, really great meal. Not sure what this place is doing in the middle of nowhere, but glad we found it. We started with the fries, which were awesome, and the pork belly. I'm used to braised Japanese-style pork belly, so this was a very interesting change, and equally delicious. For a main, my fiancee got the scallops. Scallops - in the middle of Vermont? Sounds weird, but they were perfectly prepared. I ordered the chicken, which was also very well prepared. The place was packed when we got there, and stayed full throughout the night. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely be back.
We've had dinner here three times and felt service as well as quality was consistent. I ordered the filet mignon which was good but not the best I've had. The creme brulee was great...it was my first time trying it in life so I could be the wrong person to ask. Design of the restaurant is weird. There's essentially no foyer or waiting area for customers when they walk in. If you are a group, you'll feel like you're standing on top of those sitting at the bar which made me uncomfortable. Why the bar is so close to the door, I have no idea. However, management has always been great and service has been fantastic so I'm pleased to continue giving Elixir my hard-earned dollars.
I was here for a friend's first-ever appetizer service back in the winter, and was very impressed by this restaurant's gastropub-y approach to food. Service is excellent here, and our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu. I feel like Elixir is really doing some cool stuff with ingredients, flavors and textures that you don't see very often in rural New Hampshire, which is great to see. I would definitely make another trip back here. Unlike most restaurants in the Upper Valley, where you get a really laid-back vibe, Elixir is obviously making a conscious effort to class it up a bit -- which is a welcome change.

Lovely ambiance and great food. A family run restaurant, located on the corner so lots of big windows. I had the lamb kabob and salad and saw others with eggplant, chicken kabob entrees etc. everyone is very attentive, but not overly so. They get it. The wine from Turkey was a great recommendation. They also make espresso and other great drinks.
Great little place in a sleepy town. My only critique is that the menu is ultra small so there's a chance you can't find something you are in the mood for. Aside from that it seems anything you pick is high quality. The kids weren't impressed by the hot chocolate but my coffee was rich European style which I like. Steamed milk and granola with blueberries was excellent.
Needing a pit stop for healthy lunch food, I turned to Yelp and this place had enough (recent) positive reviews. On the plus side, the coffee is excellent. I ordered a dirty chai (which was not in the menu but very doable by making a chai and adding a shot of espresso) and it came out hot and in a round handled mug that I could wrap my hands around. Yay! On the minus side, I wanted something light and ordered their Shepherds Salad which was advertised as tomato and cucumber with assorted seasonings in a lemony dressing. Now, I've eaten many tomato cucumber salads, usually at Greek restaurants, but this one was about 7/10 tomato and 3/10 everything else. I wanted bigger slices of cucumber, not the tiny slivers I got. I also expected, from other places, more of an even distribution of tomato to cucumber. Nope. At $8, I was unimpressed and despite eating nearly an entire tomato it didn't fill me. This is why I'm giving my review only four stars.

Tip Top Cafe

Reviews:
The Tip Top Cafe is truly delightful. We stopped in to take a break during a long drive and found Tip Top to be a departure from the diners/chain restaurants that so prominently punctuate the highways. We shared pea risotto cakes (think arancini) with wilted greens and bacon dressing. Even a fool knows that bacon can make anything delicious. The bread they served with the house dipping sauce was incredibly delicious. We shared the pork and ginger meatloaf with red wine demiglace and mashed potatoes. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee. Everything was quite good. The decor was great. The Tip Top Cafe is a sure winner.
Enjoyed an amazing meal with my husband and 5 year old. Loved that this place was classy enough to feel like we were in the world of grown ups, yet welcoming and comfortable for my daughter. It's in a strip mall sort of looking building, but has been decorated and interior architecture altered well enough that if you weren't looking at the huge glass windows into a parking lot you would totally forget that tiny drawback. The food was phenomenal. We went all out because we were on vacation and it was our splurge night. Had both of the appetizers of the day...a brie and fig tart and a goat cheese and potato terrine. Both were fabulous. My husband's duck was cooked to perfection and the greens that came with it were so flavorful I was envying his every bite. My butternut squash taquitos were delicious. I cleaned my plate. I did wish the shell was lighter...more of an eggroll wrap than traditional taquito but yummy nonetheless. Both were on the regular menu. My daughter had the child's menu salmon with green beans and mashed potato. She didn't like the honey sauce for the fish but thank goodness they were smart enough to put it on the side. She ate every bite save the two tiny flakes she shared with us which were tender and tasty. Her mashed potatoes were completely flavorless so we had to load on salt for her to even eat a second bite. That was the biggest disappointment of dinner, but some kids don't eat anything with seasoning so I guess they were playing it safe. The chocolate cake was good I thought...hubby thought it was a little chalky...daughter would have licked the plate if we'd let her. And my coffee and banana cheesecake were a perfect end. Everything was a very reasonable portion size as well. And for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, child's meal, 2 sodas, 2 coffees and 3 desserts at a VERY nice restaurant, I didn't think that $115 incl. tax was bad at all. The waitstaff were also very friendly and helpful...even brought a box of crayons for my daughter to draw on the brown paper table covering. All in all a perfect night. I just wish we'd had time to duck into the paint your own pottery place across the hall. Next time...
Best restaurant I have been to since moving to the Upper Valley. It feels like you are back in the city again with the modern decor and creative menu. The food is delicious, I have absolutely no complaints. I have been once for dinner and once for lunch, both were fantastic. Definitely a recommendation for anyone looking for excellent food and a fun night out.

Don't be fooled by the residential appearance, this has a full menu and great food. I often go for vindaloo or marshals with an order of naan.
Recommended. Just know this is a take-out place and you cannot eat there. It is a family run business from their house and the food is delicious. It is certainly top three in the places to eat in the Upper Valley. Vegetable samosa are yums(one order comes with 2 samosas)! I prefer the vegetable samosa to the chicken. I recommend the lamb biryani, so good and all deliciousness. The chicken masala is also a classic. The Mali kofta and Saag Paneer are also good but not my top choice. If it's prime dinner time it might take a while to get your food so plan ahead. I'm hungry thinking about that lamb biryani now.
This is Indian food in the upper valley, and that is rare. For that reason it gets 3 stars. The prices are decent- $2.49 - $4.99 for an appetizer, and $8.99- $9.99 for a main dish. the amount of rice we received was appropriate for the 2 dishes we ordered, so that was a plus. Also the rice was tasty with some spices and cooked perfectly. I had the Paneer Pakoras as an app and they were OK, but not great. There were 4, and the price was $3.99. I don't think I'd order them again. My partner had the chicken samosas and he said they were good. They were a good size and there were 2 in an order. I think the price on those was also $3.99. For a main dish, I had the Paneer Korma ($9.99), and I asked for medium spice. There was no spice in this dish and very little flavor. It's supposed to be cooked with nuts and raisins. I found a few raisins, but no nuts at all, and these essential items add so much to this type of dish. I would not order this again from here. My partner had Chicken Curry. He said it was OK, but far from the best he has ever had. He rated it as passable. Would I go here again? Possibly if we are craving Indian food and unable to get down to Boston because after all, the choices in the area are few and far between. I would, however, try different dishes as these were just OK.

Don't even bother calling Blood's if you have a small catering need. I spoke to Mike Blood about a rental for a Monday night and he just wasn't willing to help me rent a table, chairs & linens. I asked if I could pay a fee for a delivery and was quoted $500- sounds fair, right? I've used them in the past and usually I work with Brandon, who is very nice and especially helpful. The message that just came my way was unless you want to spend big money on a big event, don't call us- it's just not worth our time. All he convinced me of was- I'm not sending ANY big money your way when the time comes for baptisms, birthdays, parties, graduations, etc.
Great place to pick yourself up some nice lobsters! They also have other types of seafood. We got three lobsters then brought them home to cook but for a fee they can also cook them for you.
Bloods did an amazing job working with us on our small dinner party. The organizers were very competent, prompt, and an absolute pleasure to work with. From top management to staff, waiters, caterers, and deliverymen, every single person was very professional and extremely friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and the decor beautiful. We received so many compliments on the dinner, and I'm absolutely sure it wouldn't have gone half as well without their help. Can't thank them enough for their splendid work. Seriously, top-rate. Don't think you can go wrong with Bloods!

Great food. Great people. Great new location. I am a Texas BBQ snob and I endorse this Q.
Love their new location. I love the fact the their staff, including Brandon the owner, was friendly and roams the dining room, making sure everyone was happy. My wife remarked that the service here is better than any restaurant with table service. She is right. We also love the live music. The decor is a bit hodgepodge. The industrial lighting needs to go. We do love the family style seating and it encourages interactions between diners. Th BBQ was disappointing. We had pulled pork, pulled chicken, burnt ends and ribs. Sadly all was dry and over cooked. Taste of smoke was few and far in between. There was only one style of sauce to use. The collection of sauces at the pick up counter was also wanting. Their cole slaw was very good. I have had their BBQ previously, in their old location and had been very impressed. Perhaps there are still bugs to work out in the new place? So, while this is not the greatest experience and review, well be back to give them a couple more tries.
We had the best night. Live music, the owners brought over a basket of toys for the kids, the food was great. Perfect atmosphere. They also won the mac&cheese competition. We have 7 kids. It can be hard to find a table sometimes but they cleared a place for us right away.

The pizza here is Greek style and they do it well. Subs are a little on the small side but still very good, staff has always been friendly.
I am sorry to report one of the better Pizza joints around here is slowly going into the pooper of has-beens. They USED to have Lasagna that was cheezy, meaty delicious.....now they never have it available. Taco Pizza, it was a good alternative to the "normal" pies, they "ran out of ingredients" I know they have a new owner and it seems they are doing all they can to make it just an overpriced plain old pizza joint. Too bad. Gone are the Kalamata Olives for the greek salad.....Seriously, who puts a cheap, waxy black olive on a greek salad?
We placed our order for a large party ahead of time to be ready when we arrived for lunch break. We got there and the food wasn't ready, that's ok. What wasn't ok was the food started coming out, crappy sandwich after crappy sandwidch. The last people to get their sandwiches waited 45 min. By that time the waitress attitude was so bad she slammed the tray down and didn't even deliver the last sandwich. Wow....

Stopped in for dinner, staff are nice, and buffet was adequate. They had sushi and broiled Salmon that was not bad. You can tell they did their best to keep food fresh. Nice desserts.
It is what it is...buffet style chinese food. Once every couple years I make the mistake of going to these joints. Luke warm food, that has been sitting out for who knows how long, with absolutely no love in it. As I was eating I could only wonder if I would get the squirts from it...fortunately it all stayed in. On the plus side the staff was friendly and attentive, and the fortune cookie was good. I'm sure I'll make the mistake again in a couple years and find myself in another chinese buffet wondering what heck im about to put myself through. But hey if these joints are for you....have at it!
Inexpensive but the food was lukewarm and if you've ever had lukewarm chicken fingers you know they are vastly different when they're hot. The food was decent but unfortunately that is about it. The waitress was sweet and attentive.

I was in here a couple of nights ago. The service was good. The food was fine and I had no problems. However what really caught my attention was an incident that occurred after I had been there for a while. A man came in to complain. He was being extremely rude and aggressive. I was impressed with the young lady assisting him. Even when he lost his temper and swore at her, she remained completely calm and handled it like a real professional. She showed a lot of class while he demonstrated none. Great employee!
I wanted to know the answer to mc life but the cashier just gave me an annoyed look and got me my burger I then asked MC WHY and she told me to get out
Horrible customer service. On a 4 hour trip from Boston ... Tired to use coupons and pretty much got treated like I was trying to rob the place. The kid (blonde) at the drive thru told me they only had medium coffee's, I informed him that my coupon was for a small ( so he did not get in trouble for giving me a medium) he started telling me again that they only have medium ... He stared questioning my coupons and said that they only have minions coupons right now ... I was so confused I told him I got them in Boston at gov center, they were going out free coffee and they ran out so they gave me the coupons. He kept trying to argue with me about the size ... When I pulled up to the window he again started questioning my coupons ... Like really? I wanted to stop for 5 minutes, now it had turned into a half hour. Finally a manager stepped in and I said you guys really need to work on your customer service skills, he again asked me where I got my coupons ... At this point I wanted to scream I said I'll just pay for it don't worry about it, and the MANAGER did not offer to help at all ... He just said "ok" ... Seriously unless you want to ruin your day with the stupidity of the staff here ... Go 5 minutes down the road. Do not waste your time or energy.
