Me and my Israeli friends arrived Manchester Vermont and enjoyed the wonderful meal that was crafted by the talented crew of this place! Great food!! 5 stars.!! Great specials, just ask the clerk to create something special...
Visited their roadside stand and was more than impressed by the tacos this little stand serves. I tried the chorizo, vegetable and chicken tacos -- All excellent! I was surprised to find delicious Mexican food this far north!! Did I mention their custard? YUM!
Best tomatillo sauce I've ever had. No one I've taken here has complained about anything. Food is to die for and pretty cheap.

It's a very good place to order sashimi. The cut of the fish is thicker than other places I've been to. Price also seems fair when I think about the quality of the fish used. The mom and pop owners are very nice and really did make my stay enjoyable even though it was super busy the day I came in.
You should eat here. But it's a BYOB spot so come prepared. Ping and Ralph are the greatest!
I love coming to this place with my girlfriends and to bring a bottle of wine. With it being BYOB it makes it totally affordable to order all kinds of sushi to share. The waitstaff is quick and efficient. It's really small and super clean.

I had my doubts when my wife and I wanted to dine here last year. We walked in without a reservation they wanted to seat us at the bar so we passed on this place since there were plenty of other options in town. Seemed like a stuffy place with the host who seems to be french (or pretending to be french? ok.. maybe he is really french). We returned few months later, got a table and the food was decent. My wife loved the french onion soup. Good bread and good food. The creme brulee was excellent! We'be been back few time food is consistently good and the host i think is really french :-)
Dined here Monday evening as my wife and I were celebrating birthdays. Got placed in the corner next to the serving station for the better we had a fabulous server Sherrie. We started with 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate followed by appetizers. The escargot were a bit rubbery and way over salted. The seared Foie gras was quite nice with a very nice taste. TheTuna tartar was any upgrade from the appetizer at a large increase in price. Served with a side of fries it was certainly overpriced and the taste eminently forgettable For all the choices in Manchester Center, this one is easily a pass.
Update: thanks for your response but it's absolutely inaccurate. I forgot to mention that the hostess told us (after sitting at the bar and staring at us for 5 minutes) that the restaurant closes between 9 and 9:30. First, who does that on a Friday night? And second, you can close whenever you want, just be consistent with your signage and online presence! There will be bonus points if your help is more polite...

Fine French dining at it's best ! Enjoy the atmosphere, awesome staff and incredible meal. Can't wait to dine at Mistral's again,
One of the best meals I've had in Manchester. The view out the window is fantastic and the ambiance is wonderful. If you are looking for a nice romantic dinner, this is the place. On first glance the menu seems small and limited, but there is sure to be something to please just about anyone. I would suggest either an appetizer or dessert if you are used to stuffing yourself. The portions aren't huge but they are adequate and include a small salad and bread. The prices are a little high but your meal will be worth every penny.
We love Mistral's! My wife & I go there with friends every time we get back to Manchester. The food is superb and creative. The service is attentive & polite. The ambiance is spectacular. I remember the previous establishment, the Tollgate Inn, from way back when. Mistral's has kept some of that old world charm to the place while creating a menu of fusion between the old & the new. The owners, Cheryl & Dana (chef) are very welcoming and make us feel right at home when ever we go there. If you are looking for the best dining experience in SoVt, then this is the place for you.

Great coffee and excellent breakfast burritos. A nice, clean place to hang out (or get out of the car on a long trip, like I did), sit and eat, or just use the bathroom. I only stopped in quickly, but one could hang here for awhile and be very happy.
The ice cream sandwich was the best I ever had in my life. It was so good I may have dreams about it. This truly was a food revelation. The chocolate chip cookies were themselves perfection. Sandwiched between the cookies was the epitome of perfection of maple walnut ice cream. I feel I traveled to Vermont to taste delicious ice cream and my wish was fulfilled. Thank you for making my wish come true.
Walked in 40 minutes before they were supposed to close, and was told I could only order cold food. Then 15 seconds later, was informed I couldn't order *any* food. Looked like the guys making food just wanted to duck out of work early. Menu looked good, but I never had a chance to try anything. Not going to come back.

Seasons Restaurant

Reviews:
We have been going up to Manchester for 10 years now and make it there about 2 or 3 times a year. We love the local restaurants and finally tried Seasons. They took over the old Sox Mart space and made it into a nice open layout with a full bar and tv's all around. We started with some Hungarian Mushroom Soup and Smoked Gouda Fondue. The soup was a tad under seasoned but the Gouda Fondue was just perfect, if a little under sized. If there was about 25% more fondue it would have been perfect. We then had the Black Quinoa & Kale Salad, Spinach Lasagna Alla Bolognese for our entree's. The salad was fine and the Lasagna proved to be an interesting dish. The plate came out and it was more like pasta tossed with lasagna ingredients. There was no form to it and it didn't really looked baked. The Bolognese part of it was also disappointing. It tasted like they took tomato sauce from a can and added meat and called it Bolognese. While the food was good, we wished the service would have been better. Our waitress never let us know of any of the specials and when we overheard what they were, we know we would have liked to try one of them. We also had to ask three times to get water and towards the end of service couldn't seem to find our server anywhere. So while not our first choice, we'll certainly think of giving it another try if they are still around in the summer.
Unlike the reviewer who found a waiter unpleasant, I've not experienced this and actually found staff pleasant, well dressed and unobtrusively welcoming and helpful. I've only had lunch here on a few occasions sometimes outside and sometimes at the bar. I find the place to be pleasant and bright, the food creative and good, the drinks perfect. Additionally, members of my family and some friends have also said they enjoyed their time at this place. I think a member of the same family who has Seasons operates an adjacent furniture store which too is attractive, and must have had a hand in making this place so inviting. I would not, and do not, hesitate to recommend this place to others.
Perfect end to a romantic weekend getaway. We sat out on the patio, had a guy playing acoustic Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, JT and Beatles. Nifty garden, tiki torches. Wild Mushroom Ravioli: yummy Maple Roasted Pear & Arugula Salad with chicken: yummy New York Strip: perfect Lava Cake a'la mode: heavenly Good service.

After one breakfast here, I am ready to pronounce Bob's to be the perfect diner. The all-important hash brown test? Passed with flying colors. Our waitress said the cornbeef hash would be the best we ever tried - and she was right! Everything is made from scratch with wonderful attention to detail. Now I really want to go back to try the beefalo and other lunch and dinner items. It looks like my sister in Vermont is going to have to tolerate more frequent visits from her Connecticut brother.
Food was very good and came out fast. Just passing through town-never been anywhere around here before-and this diner made our journey much more pleasurable. It was very crowded and this looked like a real local place. Definitely stop by for some home-good-feeling breakfast or lunch!
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Device was fast. Excellent BLT, daughter loves the pancakes.

Stopped for some breakfast sandwiches and, let's be honest, some DONUTS on our way out of town this morning. Great small diner type place. I'd had a couple donuts from them earlier in the week and they were delicious. I got the Canadian bacon egg muffin (English muffin) sandwich and my husband got the sausage. Each came with delicious Vermont cheddar melted on them. Mind you, they used a microwave to melt it and heat up the sandwich, but hey, whatever works. They toasted the muffins in their little countertop toaster and all tasted great! Got the honeydew cake, honey dipped (basically a glazed donut) and cookies and cream cake donuts. Delish!! Especially enjoyed the honeydew cake donut. Great service!
If you want someone to curse and yell at you for asking what flavor filling is in a donut, then this is the place for you! Pretty unbelievable... But true. Can't wait to go back again and give this mean woman more of our hard earned money to kill us slowly with her sugar filled heart clogging dough bombs.
We were just in here, the owner was sitting at a table in the back and yelled at my husband after he asked the waitress if there were any apple fritters and commented on how the selection had really gone down over the years. We walked out and went to McDonald's, where we always get great, friendly service.

Delicious! Love the fresh food. Got there at 12 on a Sunday with no line and a few tables open. By 12:30, line was out the door and no tables, so were we lucky? The homemade chips are good, though they are not always all crispy. We visit this eatery every time we come up to Manchester.
Good sandwich on fresh baked bread. Homemade chips are great as well. The staff is never really friendly and the hours are really disappointing.
Best Sandwich shop in Manchester area. This place is amazing. Freshest ingredients, fresh baked breads, and homemade potato chips. Enough said... thank me later.

Ate here yesterday morning and this morning, food was splendid. Best sourdough French Toast ever. Bar none. Also the gluten free pancakes were very good. Service was quick and cordial... arrive early 9 tables... Been coming here 10 years plus, food is always consistently good.
I've been here a few times and went back last weekend. If you're a local, expect friendlier service. I'm not a local, so it seems that "out of towners" don't get the friendliest reception/service. It's a little weird. That said, sometimes the wait staff lightens up towards the end of the meal (just before the check is delivered) and the food is generally pretty good. I was with a table of four last weekend - 2 of us ordered egg dishes and 2 of us got the "special" almond waffle with a side of cheddar potatoes. The waffle was decent - not very almond-like but still nice. It was served with a ton of mixed, fresh fruit - delicious. The cheddar potatoes are just hash browns with a thin slice of melted cheddar on it...not exactly what we expected. Overall, everyone was satisfied with the food, but the strange, abrupt service doesn't fit the cute, cozy atmosphere of the place. No credit cards - cash only.
I've experienced a lot of disappointing breakfast spots lately, so the Little Rooster Cafe was a welcome change. The place is small and adorable, filled with country-style rooster decor (that doesn't read well, but the effect is charming). Some have commented on the service being a little chilly to non-regulars, but I'm not looking to make a best friend out of my server; in our case, she quickly showed us to a table, had menus in our hands immediately, checked on our meals, refilled our coffee mugs twice, and called me "hon". No problems with that. My husband and I ordered the omelet with artichokes and other veggies (off the regular menu, not one of the specials). It also came with a piece of a baked potato & cheddar casserole, which was tasty. The omelet, though, was the star -- fresh, full of veggies and a healthy amount of melted cheese. I opted to pass on the included toast, but my husband enjoyed his slices with the jam left out on the table in little ramekins. The coffee was really good, not a watery diner flavor in the slightest. We weren't rushed, the place was bustling, and the food was brought out fresh and hot. Can't ask for much more than that before hitting the shops. FYI -- this is a cash only place.
