I was pleasantly surprised by this bakery since I thought it would be yet another disappointment since there are only a select few good places to eat here in Vermont. The fact that I have a favorite item here also is quite shocking BUT that's a good thing. Haven't had anything bad here & you get quality food for the price. All the employees are very pleasant, well mannered, efficient, always happy, and very helpful. The ambiance is upscale relaxed & the interiors were done well plus they keep it very clean. The best part about this place is that they they are open late for those who work unconventional hours and need a place to grab food later than normal. Overall, it's a wonderful addition to Hinesburg & hoping that the food quality does not go down & that this place stays open forever.

Great option for breakfast in the area. Easy ordering at the counter, then quick service out to the table. I got bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel and it was great! Definitely coming back when I'm in the area. Bonus - if you're not here for breakfast, they have ice cream too... or maybe even when you are there for breakfast!

Eh...food is ok, service is even worse. Girl behind the counter rolled her eyes and sighed when other employe asked her to help us... If your that unhappy go into another line of work.

So two stars are pretty much just for the okay food. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and a latte and the sandwich was just mediocre. The menu said it included mustard, there was no mustard and there was a minuscule amount of chicken salad on the sandwich. The bread is pretty boring multigrain bread. The service is just awful. The attitude the girl behind the counter had was unfortunate. She did not greet me when I walked in, she did not smile once while I was there, and got an eye roll when I asked for a bag. I also asked for napkins and she pointed to a dispenser within 6 inches of her and said "on the counter". The bakery selection looked awful. Maybe only 10 things to choose from? It seems like the management needs to start training their employees on customer service skills and also re look at their food items because they are not executed as well as they can be. Good luck.

I came here for lunch one day and breakfast the next. At lunch, I had the kale ceasar salad. It had good flavor, but the kale was a bit tough. It needed to be massaged a bit or sit longer with the dressing on to soften it. I ordered my standard decaf latte iced made with half and half, and it was good. The next morning I ordered a scramble (3 eggs) with black beans, cheddar, and salsa. The eggs came with hash browns and toast. The eggs were good, though I had to add hot sauce. The hash browns were good too; I liked the really crisp cooked ones. The people who took my orders were very nice and friendly. I found it annoying that I had to get up to get napkins and salt and pepper. At breakfast time when they brought over the plates, she asked what condiments we wanted and brought them to us; that was great.

I found the service to be fine. The iced coffee was good but the food was disappointing. I ordered the soup and half sandwich combo for around $7. I got a cup of Indian style Dahl soup. Good flavor. The half sandwich was just bread with a small portion of dry chicken salad. The baked goods look good. Perhaps next time I'll just stick to coffee and a sweet treat!

It's a good thing most patrons skip doing a review of this place. They'd be at 1 star or less, for sure. They NEED a manager on duty. Filthy tables, floors, dirty dishes piled high in the bin and four girls standing around talking. OMG!!! Service is pretty slow and inefficient as well. They haven't been open all that long and nearly every, single table is wobbly and has a Seven Days newspaper stuffed under a leg. Absolutely no excuse. I can only assume the owners are never around, except maybe to make the daily deposit. Someone needs to be in control of the staff. Oh yeah; don't order the so-called "Philly" cheese steak. It was essentially, thick-sliced, dried out, re-heated pot roast. Worst ever!

First, let me say that the service was fine. Cheerful and quick. I ordered the pancake bacon STRIPS. (picture it, strips of bacon dipped in pancake batter and cooked up on the griddle, per the sign) YUM, right? Finger food, right? It was a giant pancake with 3 strips of bacon in it. It was tasty even though it was a little undercooked in the middle. It was not what was advertised though and I would not have ordered a giant pancake to eat on the run. I had a look at the pastry case while I was waiting (no longer than 5 minutes as promised) and the goodies there look a little rough around the edges. I would not order from that case today but if I came in on baking day and it looked fresh, there would be many items of interest. After reading through the other reviews, I am planning on returning for a real meal when I have time.

After seeing all the negative attention towards the bakery I have decided to voice my opinion. I have never had a bad experience here. I come in weekly and get lunch with my friends. The employees are simply charming despite their young age, they continually know mine and many others orders and have it ready by the time I get to the counter. It's the perfect small town coffee shop and it's exactly what Hinesburg needed. I cannot believe all the negative attention it's been getting, it's incredibly sad because I see how hard the employees work to make it a good experience for all. I never seen anyone standing still, the tables are clean for the most part, dishes seem to pile up but is always cleared. Also I do not understand why others are continuing to come back to the bakery if they had a bad experience the first time. I believe everyone is over reacting and feeding off of one another on Front Porch Forum and Yelp! and I know the bakery will bounce right back from this. I hope everyone takes my review into consideration. I just thought the bakery could use some positive energy.

I want to like this place so so much. I keep going back every few months in hopes that something has changed but I'm always disappointed in something. The baked goods are OK. The desserts look way better than they taste. Got an ice coffee this morning and it was god awful. Food can be good at times but usually takes a long time to make and is inconsistent. In a larger town/city with more options this place would be run out of business pretty quick.

Very disappointed at breakfast. My order came out 10 minutes after my group. Ordered Salmon Benedict and the benedict as you can see in my picture was very over done. The popover pastry that my eggs were served in was, sadly, stale and cold. Couldn't even finish my breakfast. Had it not been for the group ready to go, I would have asked for a refund. Great concept. Unfortunately for this visit, we were all pretty disappointed. For a $12 breakfast menu, they have very ambitious presentation, however it's lost in the execution of the service. Either go full service with menus or stick to take away at the counter. Many places that have an order-at-the-counter and "we'll drop it off" fail to hit the mark on service satisfaction. For a place that's new, I hope they'll take constructive criticism and go back to the drawing board. Sadly, we won't be making this a regular stop on our route any time soon unless there's some real improvement.

Great coffee, good food at reasonable prices. A good place to meet friends, read the paper or get some work done. I like the way it has become a place where you can run into people. I think it is great that they hire and train so many local young people. Because of that, yes, sometimes the service suffers. But the kids are well meaning and try hard. I've noticed how much better they get with experience and training.

The basis for my rating is this: 3 stars for their customer service, and 5 stars for the food quality (always freshly made, VERY tasty dark roast coffee), averaging out to a 4 star review. The service: There were over 10 visits where the service was fairly quick and went off without a hitch. There was unfortunately one visit that kind of threw me off with them: I placed my take-out order as usual, got my coffee and sat down at a table to wait for my order to be up. Over the next 10-ish minutes, I noticed a bunch of different orders coming up and a take out order all wrapped and ready to go sitting on the counter with the other orders.. I assumed it must have been someone else's because the employee's kept walking right by it, or stopping to see the ticket for it and then walk away again, rather than calling my name to get it... After sitting/waiting for over 25 minutes (and refilling my coffee a few times, which I can't say I was upset about.. ha), I finally got up and asked the last employee I saw looking at the take-out ticket if my order was up.. She grabs it from the kitchen counter and says "For Karla?" ... "Yeah.." ... "Oh, yeah.. This is yours." Great. So now that it's cold from sitting on a counter for 15+ minutes, I'll get home just in time to microwave it. I work in the service industry too... Forgetting about your customers and then blowing it off like they don't matter to your business isn't the greatest idea. It was even more frustrating watching all of the employee's look at my order ticket and then keep on doing what they were doing before hand without caring who was waiting for that order... But anyway, on a much lighter note, the food is always tasty and the coffee is delicious and it seems to me that they are always actively working to improve their customer service which I can easily appreciate about a business.. Try them out to see what you think, it's a nice place :)
