I could bathe in the spices at this place! It's so good.

I've been eating Nando's for the past 11 years in various countries, and for one, I'm very glad to say that the standard of food and the taste remains the same wherever I go. Thankfully. Dishes I recommend (apart from the peri peri chicken): * Frozen yoghurt. Rich, tasty, delicious. * Chicken livers. For the adventurous. * Garlic bread. Mmmmm in every bite. * Mashed potatoes. Okay they're good everywhere, but with all this great food here, it tastes even better. The one in Woodbridge is no different. I used to frequent the one at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, but I'm glad to have one closer to home. Same fountain machine, same frozen yoghurt, same great chicken and same great flavour. The decor is nicely rustic, the music is a bit loud so don't expect to have an intimate dinner there with your significant other. It's a great place to go with friends though. The 4 star is because of the service at this particular restaurant. They're a bit slow in cleaning up, whether it be tables or replenishing the cutlery up front. I'm sure they'll improve though, I just think they don't know how to handle the influx of customers!

You MUST try the garlic rolls or garlic sticks (just the rolls cut in half). They are so flavorful! They are made with other herbs, not just garlic, so the buttery flavor is enhanced! Yummy food, great flavor, and the staff was very attentive.

I love Nando's. I love everything about it. The chicken is delicious, no matter how you order it -- in a pita, in a wrap (with that DELICIOUS sweet chili jam and yogurt sauce!), on a sandwich, on the bone -- you can't go wrong. Also, let me take a moment and pay tribute to the garlic bread. Officially a legit pregnancy craving, I could eat it for every meal (if it weren't for the calorie count). So perfectly cooked that I can't even handle it. Oh - and the hummus! How can I forget?! The Peri-Peri drizzle that comes with the hummus is made of love. I don't know what it is exactly, but it's delectable. The appetizer size is plenty to share with friends, but extra pita strips might be necessary, depending on your dipping habits. I've been to this location as well as the one at Pentagon Row -- I love the consistency with the food flavors and that I can always count on a tasty, reasonably priced meal!

Solid 3.5 stars (but as I learned long ago, 3.5 rounds to 4! ;) )...We are fans of Nando's and are pleased they are located at the growing Stonebridge shopping center. It's similar in nature to Noodles and Company, which for a family with a toddler is a good format to have nearby! Pros: Solid menu with diverse selections. Our family typically goes for the grilled chicken breast or quarter white. We've tried almost all their sauces and favor the lemon garlic and mango lime. Our favorite sides are the macho peas and the mashed potatoes. Kid's meals include a dish for fro-yo. Another thing, the hummus and pita and Nando nuts are tasty choices of appetizer if you're so inclined. Cons: Super small patio for dining outside if that is your thing. Very little direction for first time diners on how the whole ordering thing works. Bottom line: A nice addition to the casual dining scene in Woodbridge. Enough choices for everyone to leave happy and full.

Portuguese? South African? A mixture of the two? What exactly IS Nando's Peri-Peri? Whether or not it is actually either of those or a combination of the two, I can't say with any semblance of expertise on the subject, as I've had neither. I suspect that folks who've had one or both of those would give belly cries of "It's Americanized for the suburban palate!!" What I can say, however, is that the mashy pea things are great, the squash salad is great, and the chicken is pretty darn good if you douce it with hot sauce. If you're looking for a food experience that is a little outside the box (at least, compared to other restaurants at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center), this is the place to go.

This has become my spot for one reason--the veggie burger.... I finally found a place I can get a quick veggie burger and it's actually GOOD! I hope they don't change the recipe. The only complaint is the staff is rude.. The girl at the register side didn't even acknowledge I was standing there.. After a few minutes someone came over to take my order. Because the burger is good I will be back...it's just too bad the staff is rude... I would have given them 5 stars. Oh well...staff will come and go but hope the veggie burger stays!!

The food here is fabulous! I highly recommend it. I would lean towards ordering online and picking up. The service is inconsistent and the music is uncomfortably loud. But the main reason to go is chicken grilled to perfection, fresh veggies and sides and the perfect blend of spices. Great for a break from the kitchen on a hot summer's eve.

Great service and food. The chicken is delicious and the sides as well. We got the medium spicy mango something. For sides we had mashed red potato and the peas. The atmosphere in there is awesome and I love the hot chocolate too. We'll be back.

I've heard from people about this place and then when I started to drool once I started to "Yelp" locations around me. My wife got here on a Saturday around 8pm (they close at 11pm). It wasn't busy at all (probably because it was so late and also that it was raining). There were only a few groups of people (probably 3 tables). the waiter/hostess was very friendly and asked if we had been to a Nano's before and we told him no. He told us it was a basically like a walk-up and order style of restaurant. He explained things to us and told us about the drinks and desserts. My wife order the 1/4 chicken with two slides and I ordered the 1/2 chicken with two sides. She ordered her chicken in 'medium' and i ordered mine in 'extra spicy'. We both got the portugese rice and fries as our sides. The chicken was delicious! Keep in mind that these chickens are normal sized chickens. So 1/4 chicken isn't really that much chicken. My wife thought it would be a 1/4 of the size of the Costco ones (they are huge!). But once you eat the chicken with the sides, you are pretty full. I love how they have all the sauces for you so you can add more/try others. I would pour it all over my chicken, rice, and even my fries. I would def come back and they even gave me a card that if i eat there a certain number of times, i get a free meal.

Thank you for coming to my neighborhood! The food is always good. The chicken is well seasoned, moist, and I love that garlic herb sauce! I will soon be the duke!

First time guest the other night. Hubby took me there on date night and surprised me with something different. So glad I tried it! Ordered a glass of sangria before dinner and it was good. Has a taste of cinnamon which I'm not a fan of, but tasty none the less. Got the chicken wing app. They were face down on the plate and when I turned them over, I realized why. Every one was burnt to a crisp and totally ruined the taste. I was really hungry, so ate them anyway. But when the "real" food came out, YUMMY! Chicken was so moist and delicious. Tried all the mild and medium sauces and can't decide on my favorite. I got the mucho peas and butternut squash sides. The peas were tasty (with a little extra salt) but the squash was super spicy! I took a few bites and couldn't eat any more. Hubby took it up to the counter and exchanged it for a side of fries with no hesitation. And boy were they good! I look forward to going back and ordering something new.

After hearing people talk so much about the infamous Nando's Peri-Peri I had to give it a try. Though I do feel like people spoke a little too highly of it I'll take into consideration that instead of getting chicken I got the ribeye sandwich. My overall experience was pretty good. The steak in my sandwich was nicely seasoned and the red peppers and arugula complimented it nicely. It came with a side of fries that I got some peri-peri mayo with that added a nice tang. The atmosphere was really nice and laid back and I enjoyed the decor. I recommend this place for a nice lunch!

I heard about Nandos Peri Peri many years ago, while exploring the internet for new food curiosities. It sounded delicious and the food porn pictures looked equally delicious. So naturally, like any crush I obsessed over Nandos. Too afraid to see if it deserved the pedestal for which it had been placed, and too lazy to go up to DC. But finally after many moons Nandos must have felt my unrequited love, because they built one right in my neighborhood. I finally had to man up and see if Nandos was the Belle to my chicken eating Beast. Nandos does things a little differently then most fast casual dining places. A host sits you at a table and then assigns you a table number to give to the folks at the register. Different and uncomfortable at first. Yet the logic is sound. The idea is to prevent lines and to make sure there is always a place to sit. Also you get that table contact like you would in a normal sit down place. As for the food. It's awesome. The chicken is marinated then grilled with your choice of peri peri sauce. I got the hot. The sauce is delicious, a really unique blend of garlic, peri peri peppers, and I'm sure vinegar and who knows what. I'll be bold and try the extra extra hot next time. The chicken comes with choice of sides. I choose the grilled corn: delicious, fresh, and the chips (french fries): dusted with peri salt, tasty, pretty much as solid as French fries can get. They have one of those new fangled coke machines with all the flavors, so that's nice. The good news is that it looks like Nandos and I are going to have a long lasting relationship. I will say Nandos is a few bucks more then other chicken joints, but hey what's a few more Washingtons for the joint that treats you right.

This was AMAZING! This lunch date with my fiancé started with us being first timers, but since I had heard great things I really wanted to try it out. We went inside and the hostess (Tia?) was extremely nice and escorted us to our table. She asked if it was our first time, and since it was she told us how we look over our menus... go up to the counter where we order and pay, and then someone will run our food out to us. I ordered the 1/4 chicken lemon & herb breast and wing with two sides (garlic bread and fries) and my fiance ordered a wrap (mango & lime) with fries and cole slaw. When our food came out, it looked and tasted AMAZING (to us). That's when the quality customer service kicked in. The manager (Jorge) came over and looked at me and said he apologized but that my chicken looked a little skimpy coming out, and so he decided to bring me a whole new breast and wing! I had already eaten all my chicken, but was super thrilled by his kindness. After finishing up, Jorge came BACK with two cupcakes to "sweeten the deal" and also with two coupons to invite us back where our next meals are free! I can't begin to rave about how amazing this place is. Not only is the food great, and reasonable priced (a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides for $10), the quality of service is unbeatable. We will definitely be back - even after the free meal coupon is gone! :)

I am usualy not a chicken lover but I wanted to try Nando's peri peri based on a recommendation from a friend. Here comes the surprise! I am so impressed with the taste and the way they grill the chicken especially the legs. Excellent food and service.

I love a place that takes pride in their food. I love a place where employees take pride in their job! This place has never let me down. My appetite is always satisfied once I get here! Food is awesome! Love this place! Ribeye sandwich is ON POINT!!

It was okay. I'm not really a fan of whole chicken, but if your into that sort of thing, check it out. I did enjoy their mashed potatoes!!

Place is great. Super good food and service is awesome. I was there the other day with my little girls and an employee went out of his way to give them balloons. They were both so excited!

I love Nandos! I honestly don't think I could ever get tired of eating there. I always get the 1/4 chicken leg and thigh (Extra hot) with a side of peri peri fries with peri peri sauce. Sometimes I'll get their garlic bread or garlic mashed potatoes- which is AMAZING. I love all the sauces that they offer you to eat your chicken with and I love how Nando's always fills me up. I also love that they have those cute soda fountains with like a million options! Also a lot of their staff is super sweet- esp Bobby! Always helped make my visits quick since I tend to come here during my lunch breaks.

All in all this chain of restaurants is very consistent with producing flavorful chicken and menu items that are complimentary. I've been to this one as well as the one in the National Harbor area and they both are very delicious

Tried this new place in town last night for dinner and it was PRICY! If you're from around town, you're better off going to Guapo's or Boston Market. Their chicken is a lot jucier and obviously better prices for those trying to grab a quick bite for less. We ordered the Full Platter ($24.95) and it comes with 2 large sides. We got the Portuguese rice and the coleslaw. Also ordered an additional large side of the garlic bread, 4 slices ($3.95). I wasn't impressed at all. The chicken was DRY. The only thing that keeps it somewhat moist is the sauce you choose (for when you order). First and last time I eat at this place. They have nobody greeting you at the door, therefore you really have no clue how the whole ordering process works until you ask the waitress. You can barely hear each other talk, since it's pretty loud in there, chaotic I'd say. You've got to literally yell to the cashier to hear you placing your order. I definitely don't think it's worth the price. It's just grilled chicken you can get in other places around Woodbridge, plenty of restaurants to choose from and way better and cheaper than this. It's just the area, maybe that's why they charge so much for some simple chicken. Ever since Wegmans was built, they've been trying to build more businesses around and making them "fancy" so people pay more for food they can get elsewhere. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because they honor military members and offer a 20% discount. Most restaurants don't.

  • Rawlin J.

I've been a couple of times to the restaurant, but I never seem to leave feeling fully satisfied. The food isn't horrible, but there's nothing that really stands out or is exceptional about it. The chicken is great, but I think it's a lot better when you get it as a stand alone, rather than a sandwich or some type of fixin'. Both the lemon and herb sauce, as well as the mango and like sauce are very flavorful. Perhaps a little too flavorful, pow! Make sure to get a tall glass of water to go with those dippers. Service is normally fair, as well. Nando's gets a nice little pat on the back from me.

I love Nandos but this location lacks leadership and customer service. It's been about 3 weeks since my very last visit..I worked later than usual soI had to pick up dinner that night, so I called to place my Oder for pick up. A young lady answered the phone and asked me to hold on.I held on so long I hung up the phone. I drove to the location thinking they were very busy because of how long I held on and found about 10 ppl max in the restaurant. I asked for the manager, whom I have never gotten good vibes from and was offered free dinner off the back. Leaving me to feel like ALL I WANTED WAS A FREE MEAL. Wrong..I.paid for my meal to get home and find out, the clerk simply can not understand English or clearly don't know the menus..This location use to be busy all the time..Now I understand why business is declining..ATTENTION TO DETAIL WILL DESTROY A BUSINESS..

    (1)
  • Slick F.

First off they give a 20% military discount..... But the wings are actually some of the best and healthiest I've had... All the sides are good.. Primarily the fries.. I've got food from there twice and 4 days...

Nandos is our favorite place to go eat. We love everything over there. The rice and the corn are greats. For a starter we recommend the olives and the pita with hummus.

  • D B.

Succulently prepared grilled chicken emblazoned with the tastiest seasonings that explodes with every portion. This is how the experience was described to me before I took my first bite! Nando's did not disappoint. I added the garlic mash potatoes and garlic bread as my two sides. I can't wait to sample the portuguese rice and butternut squash next time. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about going back to Nando's shortly after I finish this review! Great location at the Potomac town plaza near Wegmans.

    (5)
  • Jared J.

The staff was really nice and quick the food was great! And it was healthy only thing I would suggest is them to have more healthy items like grilled veggies or something along the lines

  • Henry H.

Service makes or breaks you. We were seated at a booth with a few crumbs and the wife asked the hostess for a towel to wipe them down. The manager noticed the interaction and quickly sent over hummus and pita on the house with amazing peri-peri sauce. (The sauce kicks things up a notch!) Tried the chicken with grilled corn on the cob which was fabulous. Had the chicken (medium heat) wrap and mashed green peas. While that may sound Baby food like, these were sweet peas that were well seasoned and "roughed up" a little. Just simple, good food. The manager stopped by periodically to check on us. Another server was quick to clear our dishes. All in all, this was a really great first experience for us at a relatively new restaurant on a Thursday night.

  • Rachel G.

Food tastes good but the portions are so so small for a high price. I really wish it was better because of it's perfect location!!

    (2)
  • Howie F.

Great food, but incredibly overpriced. A chicken breast will set you back like $9. Garlic bread $2. Add a soda and tax, and a meal is $14. You could walk over to Wegman's and buy a marinated breast for like $5, a whole half-loaf of fresh backed bread for $2, and a soda for $0.50. There's no real skill involved in making the chicken either; dump the breasts in marinade, then throw them on a grill and pull them back off. You could probably build a robot to do that. So it's pretty clear there's a high-profit margin.

Ordered lunch in the woodbridge location yesterday and it was a very unpleasant experience. The staff were very nice, but the steak sandwich was overcooked and the meat was a very poor cut (chewy). One of the staff was very nice and brought us another cut, cooked the way we originally ordered it (medium, not well) but by this time, we were done with our meal. One bite and it was quickly obvious, that it wasn't just overcooked but again, the cut of meat was very low quality. They also didn't add the pineapple and cheese I had paid extra for. We took the sandwich to go and hopefully the dog will like it better. I will say that the chicken was decent and the mashed potatoes were delicious, but that doesn't make a 30 dollar meal for two. The prices we were charged, commanded a better quality meat and experience then what we received.

  • Bil G.

If you want fowl meat, here it is. You walk in, the hostess assigns you to table nine. You then go over to the register and tell the cashier that you are at table nine and you place your order for the whole butterflied chicken breast with the hot sauce (which was medium hot) and your side of garlic bread. The hostess gives you a glass for you to get a drink at one of those 15 soda machines where you also get your napkin and silverware and go sit and they bring out your fowl meat. The garlic bread and chicken were great as was the service. Best garlic bread I have had. The corn on the cob is NOT a cobbette but a full ear of corn. Famous Dave should see it as he keeps ripping people off with a half ear of corn. I sure will come back to this place. It is on the same side street as Potbelly's. In fact I was going to go into Potbelly's but they had their singer there and I couldn't stand the noise so came down the street. The place was hopping. I shall return!!

  • George-Tania F.

The chicken is not bad and there is free yogurt. The 20% military discount is also generous. It does not seem right though that there is not chips and salsa, even of it is Brazilian!

    (3)
  • Cin R.

oh YUM. The Peri Peri chicken is delicious - moist and really flavorful (if a little on the spicy side). You MUST try the Portuguese rice with it - it's spectacular.

    (4)
  • Nick J.

Food here is excellent I always get the 1/2 chicken mild with garlic bread or the squash side Getting a 1/4 leg never fills me up. Place is always laid back and it's always a plus if Emily is saying hi at the door. Best greeter they have! You can never go wrong here.

    (5)
  • Mike D.

Went for lunch. Wife had the 1/4 chicken w/ rice and corn She thought the rice was dry and well as the chicken, but really enjoyed the corn on the cobb I had the steak sandwich with mashed potatoes The steak was good except for the med sauce which I wasn't a big fan of. potatoes were good. Just ok food Atmosphere and service were very good, wanted to give higher rating but food just didn't do it for us.

  • Edward H.

We were pleasantly surprised by Nando's. you first get seated by the hostess. When ready, you go to the counter and order your food. After taking your seat again, your food is brought out to you. All non alcohol drinks are self serve. I didn't try the sangria on this trip, but it looked refreshing. It's served by the glass, or pitcher. The $ was great for what you get. Caution: if you order the chicken with hot sauce, it does have a bite. Don't even let me get started on the extra hot sauce.

    (5)
  • Joshua F.

In short the food was really tasty and the sauces were great. I just kept it simple and had the chicken and some corn. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Being able to choose how spicy you want it was cool too. We'll be back.

  • Brett B.

Always a great experience and awesome food! Peri peri sauce is beast and you can also find it Harris teeter if you don't have a nandos near you. Every time I go I try something different and have yet to be disappointed. It's a must to checkout!

Too long? Here; Rude hostesses, nice chefs, inconsistent food. I encourage you to keep reading. I have to be honest. This was a strange set up, but if makes a lot of sense and I kind of like it. You walk in and are seated at a table. They give you a menu and you pick what you want. You go to a desk and order your food. They have one of those really cool drink machines with the touch screen- very cool. The service was terrible. Our hostess was bored and rude, something I was really not happy with. A young woman come into the joint to ask about what Nando's was and said she had already eaten, but she was just looking in. The hostesses gave them some papers, perhaps some menus? But when she left, the hostesses began mimicking her. My table was by the door and I saw the whole thing. I was so disappointed. My father's vegetables took forever even after the Chef personally promised they were coming. They were overcooked and a bit spicier than it should have been. His chicken, all though more expensive, was overcooked and dry. He got the boneless chicken. Mine was perfect and I got the breast/wing combo. The fries tasted good but I think they are frozen! :/ Sauces were very salty (we tried them all). The Chefs were extremely nice and checked on us throughout the meal. The hummus was good, but it isn't enough to make up for rude hostesses and slow food!

Love this place! Had the chicken breast pita, and the Peri Peri chicken! You can not go wrong with this restaurant. Great happy hour drink specials and Exceptional Customer service provided by Marco!

  • Ronello X.

Groupon (40 percent) makes this place appealing. Customer service here is very good. Employees are friendly and ready to assist. The food is very good and the different spices add a nice spin to otherwise smalll grilled bird. I will say, the birds are small. I'm not a big fan of the sides. I guess the rice is ok.

    (3)
  • Dan J.

Went to Nando's Peri Peri after purchasing a Groupon, and I'm glad we did! The chicken is really tender and moist, and the sides (I ordered fries and coleslaw) are delicious. The decor is very nice, and the service was great. I highly recommend this restaurant!

  • Amber B.

The worst service ever! The waitress and staff super rude! Cold food! Lousy corn on the cob! I've enjoyed this restaurant all the way back from when I was in College living in London. I love the one in DC I go to that location often. But this location by far the worst!!! The whole attitude of the staff is horrible!!! That's just not the first time though. After my experience this one last time I'll never go to the Woodbridge Nandos. Better pay a little extra and drive to DC and get your money's worth and at least enjoy your food for what it's worth! The manager needs to look into finding a more professional staff. Or at least keep tabs on how his customers are handled.

  • Mary P.

This is a small place. The waiting area is vey small. Once you are seated they put a number on your table, you look at the menu, go to the register, tell the cashier your table number and order. You pay and get your own drink, silverware and napkins. Then a waitress will bring the food to your table when ready. The food tastes great but I am not sure the 'serve yourself' method when I go out to eat is something I like to do. We ordered the mango lime chicken and fries.

Love this place! Thanks Jorge and Marco for the yummy sangria! New recipe is good!! Good look...adding that extra brandy. Chicken was good with the mango lime! Wings were the best! you guys!

Dropped by Nando's to pay for the catered lunch they did for us - see post from July 5th - definitely do not deal with Manager Marco - he is not very forthcoming and lacks in customer service skills - when I told him that we only got 20 lunch plates and the rest were 3inch dessert plates he said that was standard catering supplies - I asked him how he could image customers eating lunch off these tiny plates - a chicken breast was larger! He said that he had given a bunch of large plates - is 20 a bunch? He was not at all apologetic - no personality an does not know how to accommodate his customer - now I'm thinking twice about using Nando's to cater our lunches every 5 to 6 weeks - that was definitely not the way to leave a customer - I felt like I was this foreign alien and he didn't want to speak to me - definitely not very professional! If you need to deal with a manager there - ask for Joe or Jorge - they both need to teach Marco some skills!

Wanted to try something different so I came to Nando's. Nice, spacious, open set up which I like. You're seated, then you have to go to the counter and order and your food is brought to you. Weird, but hey, whatever works. I ordered a 1/4 chicken breast/wing with Portuguese rice and Macho peas. The chicken was flavorful throughout and the medium sauce was a compliment. I really like the fact that you can see your chicken being grilled. The rice was petty flavorful as well. I actually loved the peas, which had a touch of mint added. Very well done. The price was kind of steep for the portion size, but you have to figure the location into the equation. The only negative? WHY ARE THE UTENSILS SO FREAKING BIG?!?!!! Overall, I enjoyed eating here and I will return.

I'd heard this place was something to rave about. My experience was less than mediocre. The hostess was not inviting. The same hostess happened to take my order when I was ready and had no suggestions, explanations or recommendations when I had questions regarding the menu and informed her that I'd never been to the restaurant before. Part of my order was missing in which case I had to go back to the order station. This time I had to wait for another employee, whom appeared to be a manager, finish flirting with the customer in front of me so I could let them know that part of my order was missing. We ordered a whole chicken in the mango lime marinade. The chicken was just okay. Nothing special to me. We also ordered the Portuguese rice, the pea mash and the chunky Portuguese salad. The rice was bland, as were the peas. The chunky Portuguese salad was good, but hard to mess up. Just some fresh veggies and feta in a vinaigrette. I wouldn't go back again and I could find better chicken at multiple other places near Woodbridge.

We went here for dinner and ordered the Hummus with Peri Peri Drizzle, Butternut Squash and Couscous Salad and Full Platter with Corn and Fries. The salad was great! The hummus was so-so and the Full Platter was great as well. Service was friendly. Love their drink machine and black tea!

I gave this place three stars. Got some takeout and ate at home. The interior was nice and shiny and new, and when I went there a while ago they had just opened. Not sure if this style of chicken is my thing though. Will definitely try it again and see what else from their menu I might try. A South African friend raves about their chicken, so I guess it's authentic to the Peri Peri that he's had over there. Surprised there are no other check-ins or reviews after it's been open this long though.

    (3)
  • B Y.

Well, definitely not all it's cracked up to be. I ordered the white chicken (plain and somewhat dry) spicy rice? Not spicy at all, and livers. The only reason they get two stars is because of the livers.

We happened upon Nando's Peri Peri today for lunch and were pleasantly surprised! Although the ordering process is a bit off-putting (you get sat at a table, assigned a number, read the menu, leave the table to order/pay/get drinks-silverware-sauces) the food was terrific! I had the 1/4 chicken dark meat with rice with the mango sauce. The mango sauce was great, just the right level of kick, and the chicken was very tender. The rice was also quite spicy. My friend had the 1/4 chicken white meat with the macho peas and fries with the special mayo sauce. I tried the macho peas and they were very refreshing and not overly mashed, as the menu suggests. She kept raving about how great the fries and mayo were, as well. I really like that there is such a variety of sauces to sample with your food without having to commit to any specific flavor on your chicken. We are already planning our return trip and want to try the sangria (which is apparently 1/2 price between 4-6 during the week)!

First off... The chicken is REALLY good! Like most chicken places, you can get 1/4, 1/2 (white or dark) or whole chicken. Then you order your sauce, which ranges from mango lime to extremely hot (I got medium... Which was a spot-on description... Just a hint of burn, spiced with a little whiff off citrus). Sides include fries (they call them chips), garlic mashed potatoes (yummy!), vegetables, and salads. There are also sandwiches for those who want. Kids meals are chicken-centric, and include drink, garlic bread and "bottomless" frozen yogurt. They also have then new "mondo choice" Coke machine, and refills are free. Portions were good-sized,and everything was well seasoned and fresh. Be prepared for things cooked with spices... This is not bland food, but it is flavorful and the chicken is juicy. Decor is in the retro-industrial mode of an upscale Chipotle, only better.

Chicken was really good! The red wine was good as well. I might just come back for happy hour to try the rest of the wine selection.

it is so sad that the product is great but the service is just horrible. i came in on two separate occasions for carry out around 3 or 4 pm, and granted i work in restaurant and eat at odd hours and general staff is laid back when it is quiet, but never have I seen such immaturity, both times, among employees of a business. the entire experience witnessing laughing and carrying on in a loud manner across the dining room, and snickering, whispering and gossiping about customers who walk in. I was one a few guests in there and it took such a long time to have my food packaged and ready because the waitress was there to play with the cooks and even the manager, highly unprofessional. i will never go back and i love the food, and living 2 miles away. shame.

The food is good, but be prepared to wait. Almost half an hour for two grilled chicken breast sandwiches with fries and a grilled corn! The worse part was, we could see our sandwiches sitting in the pass while they waited for the fries for almost ten minutes. Poor planning, especially when one of the people cooking was on his phone the whole time. Runners are somewhat slow to respond, not sure if they're understaffed. The chicken was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. The arugula and tomatoes probably would have been better if they hadn't been sitting for so long, but the fries and corn were great as well.

After a less than stellar experience at the Old Town location, I didn't think I'd be back at Nando's any time soon. Yesterday I was in the mood for some poultry, so I suggested to Will C. that we give Nando's another go. Part of the reason why I had to come back is because lately I've been hearing people go on and on about Nando's - clearly, I was missing something. Fellow Yelper Hannah H. recommended their wings. The only other thing I've tried on the menu at Nando's was the 1/4 chicken, and I wasn't really a fan. This time, I suggested to Will C. that we go for the wings platter, a shareable dish for about 2 hungry people or 3 kinda hungry people. We got 24 medium-spicy wings with two sides (Portuguese rice and mashed potatoes). My favorite thing about Nando's is the fact that you can grab all the sauces you want and drench your chicken to your liking. No teeny tiny condiment holders here! My favorite sauces have to be the garlic and extra spicy. Finger-lickin' good. I would characterize the extra spicy as a slight tickle to the tongue. I was expecting some fireworks in my mouth, but strangely enough their extra spicy is a little less spicy than Tabasco. Will C. and I really, really enjoyed the wings. They were super juicy and charred juuuuust right. 24 turned out to be way too much for us, but for a little under $30 the two of us had a very satisfying dinner and Will C. had some leftovers for lunch. My opinion on Nando's has definitely changed for the better. The next time I go, which will probably be with my jealous little brother, I'm gonna opt for some wangs again!

I have had Nando's a couple of times now and I guess I have always tried the wrong item. This time my girlfriend and I went in determined to get the wing's due to other fellow Yelpers recommendation. We ordered the wing platter which comes with 24 wings (medium) and 2 sides for $30. We opted for the Portuguese rice and red skin mashed potatoes as our sides. It took approximately 10 minutes after we ordered to get the food. I saw the food under the heating lamps probably 6-7 minutes in however it took awhile for the servers to bring the food out to the table. First if you can tolerate heat in your food the hot spice level is nothing. Even the extra hot was just slightly spicy. I would recommend getting all the different sauces to try; my favorite has to be the lemon sauce. The wings itself was very juicy and had a good charred flavor. 24 wings for two people was a bit too much, I would probably say it is a good amount for splitting between three people. The sides themselves were nothing spectacular. With that being said, I actually saw the peas being microwaved and dumped into a bowl for some other customer. But for the purpose they serve which is to complement the chicken it works out. Overall, I myself would highly recommend the wings; I personally don't find their 1/4 chicken or breast meals good. If you are craving chicken, give them a shot.

Just love this location. My family and I take out all the time and its always great, but one night we came in a bit late and they were 45 min from closing. The food was not up to the standard we expected. They were closed before I could go back but when I called the next morning, the manager Mary Perez fixed the situation by giving us the full platter meal/same order for free. My family was very shocked but happy. This location has always been great for us and the staff are always friendly and nice. Keep up the good work and thank you again Mary Perez :)

I'd open a Nando's near Boston. It'd work. Festive, inviting, and all them Piri-Piri squeezes lining their own station? Yeah, it'd definitely work. Nando's isn't slinging the down and dirty Peruvian style roast chicken, bathed in its own juices with a little help from pepper & spice-infused oil. It's a seasoned bird, drizzled in your choice of thick and fire-forward Peri-Peri sauces. The mild at heart may want to venture to the temp of the same name, knowing you can always sample any other flavor, but this guy started Hot and finished Inferno. Because that's how he rolls. Around $15 gets you half a meaty bird, cooked through without being dry, and two sides. Jesse B raved about the Garlic Bread - a Portuguese Roll, split, griddled and garlicked - and the Macho Peas, so I went with both. The former, while nicely textured and not overly slick, didn't wow me, but the latter comes strongly recommended. The cilantro and mint pesto really takes the peas to new mushy heights. Boneless butterflied breasts are available for those who have skeletons in their closets, but hate them on the plate. Sandwiches and wraps, too, but your first time should really stick with the 1/2 chicken. Unlimited fountain soda from the Coke Freedom machine. Beer, wine and sangria served to those who can drink 'em. A quality operation that'll have you wondering why they're not franchising near you.

When my husband and I are too lazy to cook at home, we always end up going to Nando's. Customer service is always good. There were times where we would get there at 9:50 PM (which is 10 minutes before they close) and the servers and workers would still be welcoming to us. We end up feeling bad so we ordered to-go during those times but they were still friendly. Food is ALWAYS fresh. When we get the food, it's always super hot and all the veggies are fresh and not wilted/old. They do give military/police discount so don't forget to bring your ID if you have one!

One of the more consistent restaurants in the Woodbridge area. Every time we go it's the food comes out quick and fresh. The grilled chicken breast & garlic bread are awesome!

I found this place while visiting Virginia. The staff was very friendly and the location is convenient. The menu is a fusion of Portuguese modern foods. Try their garlic lemon sauce. All the food is grilled not fried. I would recommend you give it a try if you are in the area.

YUM! My husband brought me in here for lunch a few weeks ago and I immediately loved it. The decor, the vibe, all of it. Their chicken is the stuff dreams are made of, its seriously some of the best I've ever had. The sauces, oh man.. I had my chicken with the cucumber and poppy seed salad, which was super fresh and refreshing, also, the Macho Peas which were interesting and delicious as well. My 2 year old loved the food too, which is a huge huge plus.. We paired our meal with a pitcher of sangria, which was also pretty damn good. The service was great, a little different from your normal sit down restaurant but, I like how things were layed out and everyone who works here was was very helpful and attentive. They have a great beer selection to boot. I hate that I live so far away from this place, but hopefully one day soon, we will be living closer. I cant wait to sink my teeth into their delicious chicken again.

It's as good as any other nandos.. Except the service has its moments of disappointment --- since my last visit, they've improved the telephone service and the responsiveness --

Nando's chicken is like the stuff you'd find at your Spanish ex girl's mama's house barbecues while that song by Romeo Santos ft Drake plays in the background. This chicken is damn good! I try and bring my newbie friends here when I can so I can witness their mind-blown reaction. Nando sauces for days to cater the heat takers. Great selection of beer as well. So glad they carry Brooklyn Lager.

My first visit to Nando's. I had the 1/4 chicken white meat with the medium peri-peri sauce and a side of grilled corn. The chicken was slightly overcooked. Not bone dry but not as juicy as I would like. The medium sauce was not very hot so I added the hot sauce at my table. I found that to not be very hot either so I followed the hot with extra hot. All three had a sweet note to them. Usually I don't care for my hot sauce to be sweet, but I kept telling myself that I am not eating buffalo wings. The corn had no flavor whatsoever. This may be due to it being April and who knows when this ear of corn was grown or where for that matter. I chose the corn for dietary reasons. I will try something different next time. Overall it is worth going back to but I will get the extra hot sauce out of the gate.

Let me start by saying that this is one of those places we crave, and there aren't a lot of places we can say that about. The food is really simple and yummy. My complaint is with the staff. There is just NO EXCUSE for rudeness!! We've been to other Nando's and it seems to be the common theme at the vast majority of their locations. The exception to that is the location in Annapolis, they are the nicest people!!

After you are seated decide what you want. Go to the counter to order. Staff is friendly and will help you know what to do. I ordered the 1/4 chicken and Cole slaw. The chicken had a nice grilled flavor. It was not too spicy as you think. The chicken was moist and yummy The cole slaw was creamy and delicious. It was flavorful and fresh. Next time im ordering 1/2 a chicken because it was so good.

It was decent but not as good as some people made it out to be. We got a variety of items from wings to chicken breast to fries and rice. It was nice to try something new however I would prefer a pollo a la brasa over this.

Great food and atmosphere! I gotta give it to the workers there.. They do their jobs well and don't sit on their phones all day. Value wise this probably isn't the place to go if you're short on cash.

Great staff, very friendly and the food is always good. It is a family favorite in our household. We once ordered a kids chicken for my 5 year old son and he thought it was really spicy. He couldn't eat it so I thought they made it spicy. When I asked then about it they took it back and made him another to make sure it wasn't spicy. Come to find out my son is just that sensitive. He is okay with the chicken sandwich though.... Either way- the staff there took care of us and I am very grateful for that. Their sangria is tasty and I recommend the chicken pita. It is so good! The kids food comes with frozen yogurt so my son is always excited about that part. Sometimes it is down and that does ruin our experience a little. We get a pouty kid who is upset he doesn't get his frozen yogurt.

I love their sauces! They have a lot to try and they are delicious. They chicken is excellent...which is really all you need to order along with a side of fries. Great place for lunch or dinner, and you don't feel too full or heavy afterwards which is great.

We were spending the Saturday in NoVa when we came across Nando's at the Potomac Mills Town Center. As soon as you get out of your car, you are hit with the delicious aroma of grilled chicken. As it was our first time there, the hostess explained that as soon as we decided on our entrees, we would bring our order to the cashier. Let me just say that I think that's a fabulous system because you don't have to wait on the server and you pay up front. I ordered a 1/4 chicken (breast & wing) with medium heat, garlic mashed potatoes and Portuguese rice. The verdict?? Ah-mazing. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful. The sides were equally good. I grabbed a couple of their hot sauces to try (hot and extra extra hot) and while they weren't hot (in my opinion), they were pretty tasty!! I also dug the atmosphere. It had a super laid back vibe and the music made me want to get up and dance!! I will definitely come back to Nando's the next time I'm in Woodbridge. I only wish they had a location in Va Beach!!

Best chicken I can get anywhere. The sides are freaking amazing too. It's a bit expensive for fast casual dining but I'm always totally satisfied with my food and the staff is extremely nice.

I come here very often, it's actually embarrassing. But the chicken is so GOOD!! You can always ask for extra dressing on your chicken so it's not dry if you get a breast. Their Very accommodating and friendly. The last time I went my chicken was a little more charred that I would have liked it to be. I ordered the 1/4 chicken breast and wing. My wing was completely burnt. I talked to a manager after encouragement from a waitress and she gave me a voucher to go back that also included a side !!! LOVE THIS PLACE

I'm nearly around potomac town center everyday. Whether it's to grab starbucks or just walk around. I decided to go to nandos last week( on a tuesday) to see how their chicken was. Must say not bad at all. Depends on what sauce you get, each flavor has a kick to em. The best part of this is the variety the vending machine has to offer!

I'm so happy that Potomac Town Center picked up a Nando's Peri Peri. Now I don't have to drive all the way to Old Town Alexandria or DC to enjoy sangria happy hour! Between 4-6pm (Monday-Thursday) pitchers of sangria are only $7.95. A great deal for a delicious (and pretty strong) drink. During the summer they were offering watermelon sangria too, but they weren't offering it last time I went in January, so it may just be a summer thing. The sangria isn't the only reason to come here, however. The food is also very good. I usually stick to a 1/2 chicken with two sides. The 1/4 chicken usually leaves me hungry. Caution: when they say hot, they mean hot! The medium sauce is the perfect level of spiciness for me. A signature of Nando's is all the sauces they provide for your dipping enjoyment, from bottles that you can bring with you to your table.. They offer spicy garlic, lemon herb, wild herb, and extra spicy. We also make a point to buy a few mini bottles of the spicy garlic to bring home. Nando's is a welcome addition to Potomac Town Center. I'll surely be a recurring customer, most likely between the hours of 4 and 6pm! Bring on the sangria.

Two nights ago was my first time eating there and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with hot sauce, garlic bread, and cucumber salad and it was all amazing. The garlic bread was baked just right and the flavor wasn't overbearing. The bread wasn't too buttery either. It was flavorful and crunchy. The salad was a major surprise. I didn't expect it to be so good. It's sliced cucumber with red onions covered in olive oil and poppy seeds. It's a very tasty and light side dish that compliments the spicy chicken well. The chicken is grilled well. I received a good sized portion so initially I was afraid it wouldn't be done all the way but it was grilled thoroughly. The sauce isn't only spicy it's tasty. Far too often spicy sauces focus on the spicy aspect and forget it has to taste good but Nandos isn't one of them. Overall it was just a great experience

My husband and I go here at least once a month and the food is always great. The chicken is super tasty - seriously it cant be beat! That said I wish their prices were like a dollar two or less - seems sliiiightly overpriced for what you get in the end. PRO TIP - become a nandos frequent flyer or whatever card member, just ask them at the front. The more you go the more free stuff you get like nuts and olives - after like 12 trips you get a free chicken meal i think.

I've been a big Nando's eater since 1996. I have eaten at all the Nando's in the US and come to a point that I'm such a picky person when it comes to rating each restaurant. This Nando's always deliver consistent results every time~ Bobby was awesome!

Love this place. I have been eating Nandos since I was in LONDON UK. Now that I live across the street from one, I have no say no complains what so ever. If you don't know what peri peri chicken is or have never had it. Then stop reading all the reviews and try it for yourself. Try it for yourself it is worth it. Plus it's hella cheap. Hella good.
