Complete crap. Seriously it is. Was a waste of money. The only people I can see going here are people who do not know any better. Their combo fried rice is yellow and tastes like it came out of a birds eye microwavable bag. The beef is stringy and chewy. And the chicken tastes like and chewed more like rubber than meat. Just plain nasty. The family tried to use the rule of three. Which means we try a place three times before we write it off. We got to two here and just gave up. Only so many times you can endure crummy expensive food.

In my opinion, this is the best Chinese food in Dale City and maybe even all of Woodbridge. This is always and will forever be our "go to" Chinese choice. I really like the classic 70's decor, which is a throw-back to when Chinese restaurants were traditional sit-down dining and not a buffet or a take-out kiosk. The service is always awesome and the food is always fresh, delicious, generously portioned and reasonably priced. Being a vegetarian is not a problem with this restaurant, because they have several items on their big menu available. This may seem silly, but I even like the ice tea they serve here. BTW - Since most of their business seems to be take out, there is always a table available. This restaurant also has a full bar.

My husband ordered general tso dinner, I had a combo lo mien and chicken teriyaki stick. The rice was extremely plain just looks like soy sauce with rice sprinkled with some pork on the top. General tso was nothing special. We were charged and given a large lo mien.. When I told them small.. Wtf? It was sour tasting idk weird nothing I've tasted before. The teriyaki chicken same stringy and has a foul smell taste like it's been fermented.. Rude service but nice on the inside compared to other chinese places. Small portion for the dinner combo.. ESP for 9$. Don't waste your money go to the place off of miniville in the complex where Safeway and pet smart is.

Sadly, I got food poisoning from here last night. The pork tasted a little off. Vomiting and diahhrea. I have to take this one off my list.

I've been coming to this place for decades when it used to be called Aloha. The last time we were there, it was a complete desaster & let down. Since the new owner took over, everything from service to especially food went downhill!! Inconsistent food quality & taste are bad combo for restaurant. The place sure could use a make over & another new management. I sure hope they improve 'coz this place brings lots of memories.

Went in to eat lunch here today based on some recommendations from locals and this was my wifes go to from 8 years ago. What happened?! Ordered the crab rangoon, combination lo mein and orange chicken. The crab rangoons was amazing but the entrees did not come out piping hot but just warm. Strange considering we were the only ones eating in the restaurant. The orange chicken tasted very greasy and stale. The lo mein was mushy. Very underwhelmed and will not be back.

Lame! The only 2 things good about my experience here was the service and the crab rangoons. Everything else missed the mark by a long shot! Even the fortune cookies had shitty fortunes... mine said "Hallelujah!"..... Damn str8! Rejoice in the fact that I never have to eat here again!

This food was not good. We were hungry late Friday night and decided to order before they closed. We received soggy spring rolls, ugly chicken wings that looked like they had a disease, and mediocre fried rice. The sweet and sour shrimp was the only thing that was half way decent. Never again.

Man, this was good! My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area, and after a less than stellar experience with another Chinese place, we decided to try China Gourmet. The ordering experience was fantastic - the lady who answered the phone was kind, polite, and very helpful when I asked questions about the curry beef. Sometimes placing an order for Chinese food is somewhat an adventure, but this was so easy and she was sure to wish me a good night and weekend before hanging up. The fried wontons were fantastic, and the beef on a stick was tender and so flavorful. I tried the curry beef and it was really good too. My boyfriend wasn't a huge fan of the fried rice, saying the flavor was a bit off, but considering how good everything else was, I think it might just be a one time thing. All in all, a fantastic experience and this will definitely be my go-to Chinese restaurant in the future :-)

Great food for take out. They deliver and they're usually pretty fast. I had the kung pao chicken with fried rice. I was able to make two meals out of it and it was excellent. The crab rangoon was AMAZING!!

I order the Kung Pao chicken with fried rice, and my wife orders the Chicken with Beans and white rice. I love mine, big portion, very flavorful, I ask for it spicy, and it comes that way. My wife loves hers, and that is saying something when it comes to Asian for her. They are quick, I have dined in with friends from out of town, and they loved it as well, asked to go back when they came to visit last time.

I second what Bad R. said. The food from China Gourmet is very good, they give you large portions and they have great customer service. We order regularly and always get great, fast service. We usually order on Friday nights. They tell you 40 min. but it rarely takes that long. It's usually less than 30. The pork fried rice is excellent. As Bad R said, plenty of pork, egg & onion and quite tasty. Gen Tso's chicken is great, shrimp lo mein excellent, crab rangoon, chicken with broccoli, wonton soup, all very good. The only thing I've had that is not so great is the chicken wings. They have very hard crunchy breading and are rather greasy. The sweet and sour chicken is about the same- real greasy. Everything else we've had is very good. One of my faves is the chicken with vegetables. Excellent. They are very nice and always thank you, tell you have a good night/wkend. It's nice to feel appreciated. You know they appreciate your business.

Quite possibly the best Chinese food in the Dale City area! China Gourmet is tucked directly next door to the Giant Food grocery store in Center Plaza, and was right under my nose for years before I tried it after becoming disgusted with Sampan, Top China, and others. The fried rice is excellent and not skimpy on the other ingredients (pork, egg, onions, etc..), and be sure to try the Creamy Butter Shrimp! They can be busy, so order early for carryout.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
