We came here for dinner with my parents on all you can eat crab night. Crab was 25.00 and came with fries and hush puppies. Our hush puppies were raw in the center and see didn't eat our fries. They bring you two clusters at a time and after your first plate they bring you one cluster at a time. Seriously one cluster at a time and no refills on melted butter? We gave up after awhile due to the fact you had to wait forever for the cook to boil them. Our server was a very pregnant young girl and she did a great job taking care of us and the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. I doubt we will go back. Should have know since we were the only people there.

Food was AMAZING!!! From the secret recipe hush puppies with a side of applesauce (who knew) to bread pudding with a white chocolate bourbon glaze (to die for) Thanks for the great service Connor.

Great disappointment with food selection and preparation. We found the food to be grease and lack flavor. A big differences in portion size and flavor from our first visit a year ago.

I frequently visit Williamsburg and just tried this new restaurant yesterday for lunch and it's great. They have wonderful lunch specials for $10. I had the fried cod sandwich which was really good, and two people in my party got the fried oyster poor boy which they said was fabulous and the other person in our party had the salmon wrap which she really enjoyed. The ambience is very nice in this hidden area frequented by a lot of locals. The service was excellent. This is a great new addition to Williamburg's restaurant scene and I think it combines New England and Southern seafood cuisine.

Food was very good. Was off the beaten path enough to not be overly busy. They have the standard kids menu.

I finally made it in here to try the food this past Saturday with my mom. The verdict...one of the better places for seafood in the Williamsburg area. We came for an early lunch around 11:30 and were the only ones in the restaurant. As one would expect given the lack of other customers, our server was very attentive. She was also friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, so kudos to her. My mom is on a low carb diet, so went with the seafood platter that comes with crab legs and steamed shrimp and had a side of asparagus. She loved it all and said it's some of the best seafood she's had in a while. I had the fish tacos appetizer- which actually work well as a small lunch entree since it was three decently-sized tortillas with a good amount of fish. I also had the crab bisque soup. The tacos were pretty good, not the best I've had, but the grilled tilapia was flavorful and not overly fishy and had a nice texture. The soup was excellent, rich and creamy with tender pieces of crabmeat. I had previously been to the bar for beer and the service was good. Great happy hour deals. The space is somewhat formal but not stuffy. A great spot that I hope will succeed in this somewhat hidden shopping center.

Don't know how to rate this one - food=4, atmosphere (literally)=1, guess that equates to 2.5. Food was great (fish tacos lunch special), prices good (I like that the lunch special included coffee or tea), service was great, food came out super fast. However, when I walked in, I thought the restaurant smelled a bit "fishy," like frying fish. Not a big deal, I thought, it is a fish restaurant, and after a minute I no longer noticed the smell. Then I got home, and my clothes smelled fishy! Still smelly after airing outside for 45 minutes. I'm sorry, I won't be going back to a restaurant that makes my clothes smell!

This was just about the only place still open on a Friday night that could accommodate our party of 9 (including 2 children). We still had high hopes for some nice seafood based on the Yelp reviews and scanning the menu. Unfortunately, were it not for the phenomenal hush puppies, this place would have received only one star. Service was slow and not impressive. The food took forever to come out. We even had to get up and find our waitress to make sure they hadn't forgotten about our order! Avoid the bland, soggy fish tacos. Awful!! I can make better fish tacos at home with frozen Gordon's battered filets. I ordered the Shrimp Imperial and was pretty disappointed. The rice was awful and the "creamy lobster" sauce was just blah. The shrimp was fine, but nothing to write home about. On a positive note, the asparagus was good. My husband had the Admiral's Feast and it was just okay. Nothing that kept me going back to his plate to steal anything (oh, except the hush puppes...yum!!). Seriously, I think if I had ordered 2 baskets of hush puppies, this review would look very different. Other members of our party also thought their food (including the Scampi) was okay, but not great. My daughter's mac and cheese was straight up boxed mac and cheese (trust me, I have 2 kids, so I am quite familiar with the boxed variety and am a fan in general), but it wasn't even very good. It looked dry and as if it had maybe been made earlier in the day. How does one really mess up boxed mac and cheese?? But was I asking too much when I expected mac and cheese made from scratch? I don't know. But for the price point, we probably would've been happier at a random chain restaurant. Needless to say, we didn't return here during the entire week we spent in Williamsburg. (For delicious food, try Plaza Azteca!)

Order the Crab and Artichoke Dip as an appetizer and was not impressed at all. In fact, was a little grossed out. For an entree, I order the Fish n Chips. They were decent and not heavily breaded. My partner ordered the crab cakes and reported that they were absolutely horrible. The food was very over priced for what was served. Was not impressed.

Food was great for the price point. Service had a bright spot or two but when the waitress says "Hey, I just work here. It's just a paycheck" you start to get concerned. Was easy to get a seat on Friday night at 8pm. The wine glasses were a HUGE disappointment! They are tiny!!! I took a picture for reference. The other items pictured are a shot glass, a bottle of hard cider and the featured wine glass. We thought it was a joke at first but they charge $7-$8 for this thing and it's barely wider than the beer bottle. We will come back for the food but stick to bottled drinks because the pours are ridiculous.

This place exceeded our expectations. Not only was the food great but service was fantastic. We ate with our two sons and everyone's meal was great. We had crab cakes, scallops and middle neck steamed clams all of which were great. We will definitely be back when in the area again.

It doesn't look like much on the outside tucked into a strip mall, but the food and service were excellent! Our appetizers (fried oysters and hush puppies-both outstanding) came within minutes. I had a full order of the shrimp and grits from the appetizer menu and my wife had the grilled salmon. Both were excellent. The specials that night were very tempting-but I was in the mood for the grits. ALL the deserts sounded spectacular, but we had the Mississippi Mud Pie x2 (decadent) and peanut butter pie (my son loved it ) between the four of us. All were made in house. Elizabeth, the manager was wonderful. The atmosphere was low key, great for kids and family and had TV's for viewing the US women's world cup and NBA finals. We will definitely go again when we return to the area next time.

One of my new favorite places to eat in Williamsburg. I stopped here in a Monday and got the all you can eat crab legs. They are cooked to order so they aren't the regular buffet cooked legs. Cooked just right and they add a little spice to the them.

We were on the road from the mountains headed the the beach. We wanted seafood. Excellent choice! Grilled shrimps imperial with grilled asparagus and saffron rice was excellent. The staff was excellent also. Would definitely recommend Holy Mackerel Grill to everyone! Thank you Yelp!

Stopped by on a wim. Food was excellent. Best place we have eaten since we've been in the area. COD bites were great as well as the huge fried shrimp and tuna. Service was excellent. Elizabeth our server was awesome and we will definitely come back.

After outlet shopping found this wonderful restaurant for lunch. Lunch special for 10.00 including drink. The fish and chips were out of this world and the hush puppies were wonderful as well. Entire family and my cisiting parents enjoyed it. will definitely be back.

New management showed up about 6 months ago--this place was never perfect, but it was close by and had decent food. Our visit last night was a joke. Unhappy staff, the place looked empty but the servers and hostess acted weeded. Stood at the front counter for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from any staff. Cold food, undercooked wings( I got sick later that night), no more free toys for our son, they even stopped serving applesauce with the kids meals. What a let down. I can deal with rough, undertrained college staff--but where was the manager? Never once saw him/her, even after I complained to the waitress. Steer clear of this joint and hit O&A up the street for a professional establishment.

Our new favorite seafood restaurant. My husband raved about the fish and chips. As good as any we've had in the UK. I loved the fish tacos. Very fresh, wild caught fish. Out of the way location, but worth seeking it out.

Very disappointing. I ordered Oysters Rockefella. Not like anything I've ever had before. Soupy creamed spinach, not great. The fried oysters were acceptable. The other two members of my party ordered the fish and chips, heavily breaded and soggy, and the seared pepper ahi was not cooked properly either. The Wasabi aioli was all mayo very little wasabi. When this restaurant opened the food was much better. What a difference a year makes. While we were there they had to comp another patrons meal because she felt there was something wrong with the fish and it wasn't edible. This restaurant is not going to survive unless they get a new chef and better product to the table.

What a little hidden gem! My girls and I LOVE this casual seafood restaurant for the cleanliness, great service, and excellent food! We have ordered in and to go, and both have been exceptional.

We were in the area for a few days and found Holy Mackerel was close by. It was not crowded and we found the service and the food wonderful! I had the fish taco's and our friends got the steamers of crab legs and shrimp. My husband got the crab cake. We all enjoyed everything and found out that on Monday's its ALL you can eat Crab Legs.. Enough Said.. We came back the next night and our friends spent the next 2 hours eating crab legs while my husband and I enjoyed the platter of BBQ pork, Brisket and ribs! The servers were super and the place was nice and clean.

Just got back from trying to have lunch at Holy Mackerel with my wife and another couple. After waiting more than 45 minutes, I asked the waiter how much longer before our food arrives. He looked astonished, almost like you haven't gotten your food yet. He went back to the kitchen and came back to tell us the order was dropped. He reordered the food and said the manager would come out to speak with us. After another 15 minutes and no food and no manager we left. I guess I would give it zero stars, but that is not an option
