Ok, I loved this place at lunchtime the last time I was in the area, so I thought I would try it out on Friday evening for dinner. I was in luck, as their was an awesome musician who sang and played the guitar really, really well!!! I would have to pay a heck of a lot more money to be so pleasently serenaded during my dinner in my hometown of NYC. The music enhanced the meal, which was once again delicious, and also the "feel good "vibe that resonated throughout the restaurant. Well done :)

I was in town for business and ate here. The server was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction for my meal. When I asked for hot sauce for my Po Boy (which was delicious) she brought me four hot sauces, three of which were made in house and told me to try them all. The peanut butter pie was fantastic.

Excellent food with a touch of New Orleans. The gumbo was fantastic and server attentive and friendly.

During a spring trip to Virginia, we had to find a vegetarian friendly restaurant and fast in an area we weren't familiar with. We found the Green Leaf Grill on Yelp, and were not disappointed. The menu was huge. The service was friendly. The beer selection was large, including several microbrews. The atmosphere was friendly and "homey." It's fun when you find a little treasure like the Green Leaf Grill in a place you are unfamiliar with. We fully enjoyed our meal here.

OMG! That truly describes the awesome food in this restaurant. We were sorta taken aback by the low-key storefront but we said what the hell lets give it a try. Looks can be deceiving! We had the crab dip with fresh French bread for an appetizer. I had the tuna dish and my wife had the shrimp Alfredo. Both were so delicious and completely different than we've ever had! The prices are inexpensive too. I guess we aren't paying for a storefront like all those chain restaurants charge you for. Take a chance on your small business restaurants people. You may be in for a pleasant surprise. Kudos to the gracious and bubbly Kristen who served us and was very helpful with our selections! The chocolate cupcakes were awesome too! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Came here after a long bike ride on Skyline Drive. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries! I got a mozzarella basil panini, added turkey for for extra oomph. It was grilled to perfection. Great place to eat.

Stopped in on our way home from vacation on a Friday for lunch. Chose this place by yelp reviews. The food was good, the service was a little slow, but the most confusing was how a la cart the menu turned out to be. Thought the chips and regular fries were included in their respective meals, they we not. Each cost an extra 2.50 per meal.

Great location. Great atmosphere. Great menu. Great server. Great food. Do I need to say anything more? Ok I will. I had the hamburger with Gouda cheese. It was perfect. The homemade chips were wonderful as well. For my drink I had a Monty Python Holy Grail Ale. It went perfectly with my meal. For desert bread pudding. Very happy with my entire meal. You will enjoy this place.

We chose The Green Leaf Grill because of other Yelp reviews. It is a jewel in Waynesboro! It is a locally owned restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient. The food is excellent! We started with the drunken shrimp and roasted beet salad. Both were very good! For dinner I had the bacon wrapped scallops and my husband had the Crawfish Etouffee. Both were prepared deliciously! I wish I would have had room for the peanut butter pie! I will save room next time. All food items are very reasonably priced! The restaurant also serves local craft beers and wines from local, Virginia wineries. I love to support local businesses so this was a win-win all the way around! If you are in the area, we highly recommend it! Enjoy!

The food is amazing! Seriously. In this small town it's refreshing to have somewhere decent to go out to dinner. My only compaint would be that they don't serve blue moon, which is both craft and local (Elkton, VA), which they claim to serve. Service is generally pretty great, but I get the idea that some of the servers consider themselves to be "beer snobs" and yet are not educated on what is actually local, as I listened to them mocking another customer who tried to order a blue moon tonight.

A very cool vibe, outstanding service, reasonable (to low) prices, a great selection of local beer and wine, and delicious food. We went based on the other reviews and we were not disappointed. Had both the Brie and smoked pork egg roll apps. The pork and the Thai Chili Sauce wakes up your pallet while the creamy Brie and warm pita chips warms your soul. For entrees, my wife enjoyed a rich and spicy shrimp and grits while I devoured the shrimp po'boy. The bread for the po'boy was a freshly baked French baguette with a nice crunch on the crust but soft and tender inside. The plump shrimp shined in contrast to the chipotle ranch (my server wisely brought extra for dipping). A cool place that reminds me of being in Chapel Hill or Austin.

This review is somehow based on not actually eating there..... Looked it up on Yelp. Outside looked like nothing special...come to think of it the inside isn't much to look at either, but that's alright. Thought we could get away with grabbing dinner with our infant daughter...She had other plans, so after ordering drinks and taking a half-a-sip, we had to promptly get up and go since she decided not to calm down after all... Everyone else s food looked awesome. The menu was really full of some great stuff. Had my heart set on some crab cakes..... They have a pretty large wine list as well as some decent craft beer offerings...a couple which are not too mainstream. Give it a shot. maybe next time we are cruising though town we will try again!

I eat here in the fall of 2013. I still talk to others about it. Food was priced right or cheaper than it should be. The food was fantastic, and I loved the local brew options for beer & ciders. The Bold Rock cider was fantastic. After we had finished our meal the owner came over and asked how the food was. Very friendly guy. Myself and my friend drove nearly 6,000 miles on motorcycle over two weeks and both agree that this was by far the best place that we eat the entire trip. If your in the area I would stop in and check it out.

Want perfect food around? This is the place to go. Crispy smoked pork rolls are amazing. Burgers are excellent. Fish and chips superb with home made mayo from heaven. Wide selection of beers. And what is the most important - friendly and professional staff.

First: this place is super vegetarian friendly - as in: an entire section of the menu is dedicated to us (kudos Chef, kudos). Second: they have an excellent beer selection. Third: the house salad was lovely and the sesame dressing is YUM. (minus one star for weak desserts)

What a shame this place is ALL THE WAY out in Waynesboro (read: 20 - 30 minute drive for me). We went here last week and had a blast. We got the red pepper hummus, the coconut curry, and a vegetarian panini (that I asked for changes on because I'm a pain like that). Everything we got was delicious (which is funny, because I don't usually like curry and would totally order the coconut curry for myself in the future). The baby, the husband, and I were all delighted with our meals. The service was just as good - our server was attentive without being overbearing, and was really nice when the kiddo knocked over a full water glass. We all had a great time and will absolutely be back soon! And best of all - we're not even vegetarians.

We loved it... Day seven of our trip to Shenandoah Valley... Best meal we've had yet. house salad with balsamic vinegarette was great start. I had the seafood sampler... Fried Chesapeake Oysters... Drunken Fried Shrimp (wonderfully light.... dark beer breaded)... Cajun Catfish... And the Wilted Spinach to die for! Everything was done perfectly... And it was excellent. Two in the group had Maryland style Crabcakes ... With Sweet Potato Fries ... Yum. Another had French Onion soup... Followed by the Angus burger.... Said it was fantastic. Great choice of beers.... And the service by Katelyn was world class. Wish we didn't live 3,000 miles away!

This seemed like a pretty good place (though a bit pricey) for my omnivore extended family, but I, my husband, and my son (we're all vegan) had very few options unfortunately. They have a "mostly vegetarian" list on the back of the menu but only one item was vegan (the coconut curry). My son had a vegan cheese pizza. So there are all of two options it seems. They couldn't tell me anything else vegan on the menu. The veggie burgers weren't even vegan. Any vegan options in a smaller town are great.. but I did leave a note saying that more vegan options would be a good thing for their menu!

What a great local fine for my Mom and I during our Blue Ridge Parkway road trip. It's in cute downtown Waynesboro away from the usual chain restaurants in a warm, open room with nice high ceilings and local artwork available for purchase. Our server Nathan was super friendly and when we asked for his recommendations, he didn't hesitate to suggest several things from both the specials and the regular menu. He was attentive and low key at the same time. He actually seemed to be enjoying himself - the way I did when I waited tables! They have a variety of local beers and wine to choose from as well as wonderful sounding desserts. Skip the chains and treat yourself to great food and friendly service for reasonable $$.

This place is very good. Much better than the crappy chain restaurants that are the primary options in Wboro. Went there for dinner on a Friday night in November. Had to wait about 10 min for a table for four. I think they take reservations so call ahead. The ambience was warm and friendly. Light dinner music provided by a guitar-playing lounge singer. We had two kids with us and it was perfectly suitable for a casually-dressed family. Food was very good. Starter of shrimp hush puppies was great! Salads were fresh and nice, nothing exceptional. Mains were very good. Chicken and crab gumbo was delicious and an unexpectedly large portion. Strip steak was pretty good but tasted mostly like garlic and butter, overpowering any beef flavor. That happens with strip steak prepared this way though. It was decent. The kids' meals were good for children's portions: pizza and pasta. Beer and wine selection was very nice. A good selection of IPAs and local options too. All in all the food was pretty good. Service was fine and we felt very comfortable. I will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our lunch here very much. My wife had the fish and chips which she said were very good. I had the potatoe soup with grilled cheese which tasted great and warmed me up on an otherwise chilly Spring day. My special needs son had the turkey BLT and ate the whole thing, and since he can't speak, that means Yumm! Service was fast and friendly and pleasantly did not bat an eye at our son. Unfortunately, sometimes when we go out our son garners unfriendly glances from wait staff since he looks different and can be a bit loud and messy.. Fortunately, he did get the attention of one of those angels that walk among us who secretly paid our bill and left a lovely note explaining how she empathized with our situation. All in all, good food, helpful staff and friendly locals added up to very nice time for all.

Friday evening dinner was great. Super atmosphere, attentive server and best of all the entertainer Joe. Food and wine were very good, not excellent, but relatively economical. Would rate this cafe very high, especially for Waynesboro.

Great choices on the menu. The stuffed chicken was very tasty, but could have been a little more tender. Enjoyed the live music. Peanut butter pie...yum! Passing through town, but I would definitely come here again.

Had a group of seven people here on Saturday 10/26/13. A few of the group were wine-happy from touring vinyards that day. Our waiter took it all in stride and provided great service. We were all very pleased with the food but specifically I ordered the polenta caprese and have to say it was really, really tasty! What a wonderful vegetarian dish. The flavors mixed very well and the texture of the dish was fantastic. Around the table were prim ribs, sandwiches, and chicken and nary a complain was heard. Reasonably priced and very tasty...what more can you ask? Oh, and that they accommodated out large group without a reservation was wonderful too. We got NO attitude at the door when we arrived. I will definitely be back! Side note: there was a musician there this night who played some really nice, jazzy style music. It definitely added to the ambiance.

An excellent find during a recent winery trip. A group of 5 of us ate here this past weekend and we were very pleasantly surprised by the tasty sandwiches & sides we had. Nice open dining area with with a definite small hometown feel, but out of towners are definitely welcome here. Menu has something for everyone. Would recommend it to others who need a lunch or dinner spot when passing through Waynesboro.

Stopped by for a late lunch today with a co-worker. Decided on GLG after reading the reviews on Yelp. Classy little joint. Lighting was just right, quaint little bar sits center stage leading you to the dining area. Several booths positioned along the side walk windows providing some people watching distractions over conversation. The beer geek in me liked the selection of bottled brews which included local "VA" choices including Star Hill, Devil's Back Bone, Blue Mountain Brewery and Legends. We both ordered the New Orleans Style Oyster Po Boy with house made chips. The Po Boy was fantastic. Start with a terrific selection of bread for the hogie roll, fresh greens and vegies, oysters done to perfection and what ever sauce they used was simply outstanding. I was really to busy eating to pick it apart for any culinary analysis. The house chips were thin, crispy and seasoned just right. I could see stopping by just for a big serving of these with a couple of brews. No complaints at all. Hard to judge service since we were in at an odd time with only a couple of other tables occupied. Our server, Caitlin, was warm, friendly and attentive. I know you read these Chef. I once had an Oyster Po Boy years ago in another city that had thin cut ham on it. Now that was the bomb. Just a thought. I will be back with The Wife. Very nice job, I look forward to sampling more of your offerings. I'll reserve the fifth star for her blessing.

Great food and service on a busy Sat night. We had reservations, got there early, sat at bar, were seated on time. Manager had to take our order, but meal went flawlessly. Scallops on linguini were terrific, as was basil soup, Cobb salad with chicken were great. Hurricane supersedes its reputation, highly recommended if you want to get lucky. Enjoyed the evening, live music really added to ambiance. Peanut butter pie is going home with us, snuck a taste, yummy! Updated 5/24/13 - still great!

This past Friday was my second visit to Green Leaf Grill. Last time I visit (back in April or May) I ordered the Lasagna and really enjoyed it. To drink I had a cider. The place was packed but that added to a lively atmosphere. This most recent time I ordered the Fish & Chips that was on their Specials menu which came with a salad. I went with a House salad with ranch dressing. The salad is small, but I didn't mind it too much because I didn't want to get too full before my meal came. My mom mentioned that the ranch seemed watered down a bit. It's a thinner dressing but I didn't notice anything wrong with the taste. I was happy with the portion size of my meal. I wasn't able to finish all of the fries; which were a bit on the cold size when I got my plate. The fish was toasty hot and I used the tartar sauce over the vinegar. When that happens it means they've got a good tartar sauce. I love malt vinegar. I ordered a glass of the Well Hung Viogneir. I don't recommend it. It was too dry for my taste and had a bit of a bite to it (I'm thinking stainless steal? I'm an oak person). I ended up leaving a little left in the glass (my pour was a very good size, no issues with being cheated here). My husband and brother each got a Po'boy and were happy with their selections (one oyster, the other catfish). My brother ended up taking half is sandwich with him because he was full from the other half and the fries. My husband tried both of the Session beers (Lager & Black). I really liked the Lager and he enjoyed the Black more. My mom hadn't been feeling well so she just ordered a House side salad and a baked potato. Both hit the spot for her. We were too full to partake in dessert. Which was fine for my husband and myself. Our party had been sat at a booth in the very front of the restaurant by the windows on Main St. Even though this was around 7pm it was still very warm. The rest of the restaurant has fans to create air flow but not the front part. The warmth didn't really affect me until about half way through dinner (my tasty hot fried fish probably didn't help) when I was starting to sweat. That's when I switched to drinking some sweet tea to cool down. Tasty tea! My family will for sure be back. This has become on of our usual dinner spots when we're in the area. Next time I'm going back to the Lasagna since I remember really liking it...and another hard cider :)

Love the Green Leaf! One of our favorites in all of Waynesboro and Staunton. Their artichoke dip is terrific, their specials are always good, and their freshly made potato chips are worth going out of your way for. My favorite, when feeling in a dieting mood, is their Cobb Salad, really delicious. But I always look at their specials as well because I have never had a special there I didn't like. Can't recommend this place enough for a great night out.

My new favorite is their scallops wrapped in bacon, served on a bed of jasmine rice with a side of veggies. The best scallops I've had anywhere, bar none! Pricey, but worth it. They have now spoiled me for only wanting scallops this terrific, & most places just don't seem to deliver this kind of quality. My family & I have met one of their chefs & was impressed with his eagerness to please us with our meals & we also shared an interesting mini-brainstorm of menu ideas, which was a nice personal touch & appreciated. We have been coming here for several years now, & the wait staff is now friendly & attentive, and it makes for a pleasant visit. The seating is comforting & inviting, as is the atmosphere. My husband enjoys their Mexican pizza & po' boy sub. We also enjoyed their shrimp hush puppies, served piping hot with a tasty dipping sauce. Around Christmas 2013, they updated their menu with new offerings. This restaurant has quality local ingredients and takes pride in what they offer; and it shows.

The food and service is good. The fried green tomatoes were tasty. The wife had the parmesan encrusted scallops, some of the best we ever had; the sauce was great though the linguine was slightly overcooked. I had the stuffed pork; it was good but a little small. Chris the chef and owner was working yet took the time to chat. Recommend!

Pros: - Friendly server. - Good cup of Java. - Pork chop was well prepared. - Ceasar salad was tasty with freshly toasted crutons. - Bread pudding desert was fantastic. - Atmosphere was pleasant and in good taste (no pun intended). - Played a music selection that was to my liking and at a volume level that still easily allows for unimpeded dinner conversation. Cons: - Mashed potatoes were bland, bland, bland. You decide whether pro or con: - Eclectic menu void of a common theme. If you're looking for erratic variety then this is your place - you'll find everything from paninis, to steak, to pizza, to burgers, to fish tacos.

Skip it. My Fried Green Tomato app was soggy, watery, and unappealing. Ordered this to split and not given a separate plate. Orange juice I ordered at brunch came 2/3 full and full of ice, like a cocktail. 25 minutes after placing my order for French Toast the server returned to inform me they were out of bread. Asked for the check, and the manager (nice guy) came over and said he understood I had "several complaints" - indeed I did, but had not voiced a single one, so obviously there was some messed up communication between the house, kitchen, and management. The manager did approach offering to buy us lunch - appreciated, but I had just been there a little too long and suspect that one of our meals had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. We may have been the victims of an under experienced wait staff, I know brunch can be difficult for restaurants, but that's what was advertised, and what I wanted. Wait staff was all high school students and pretty clueless. Drive another 6.8 miles to Staunton, tons of great options there.

Our group of 6 greatly enjoyed this restaurant. With my being vegitarian, it can be hard to find a restaurant that both works for me and the meat eaters in our group. Excellent vegitarian selection and it looked like there was even 4 vegan choices. The meat eaters loved theirs meals as well. Good choice for kids and the desserts were great. I would recommend the chocolate cupcake to any chocolate lovers.

This place is solid, nothing special. They have good beers available but nothing too out of the ordinary. I had a Gyro, it was a special for the day. It was decent. The fries are good. My wife had a smoked turkey panini. It was ok. We started with the shrimp hush puppies. They are good, not great. Our server was Ashley, she was nice and did a nice job.

This was my first experience at The Green Leaf Grill and it was a pleasant one. Kaitlyn was wonderful. Our table couldn't have been better. I can only speak of my experience with seating at the window. I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed the experience as much if seated in the main room, bar-side. I truly enjoyed the relaxing tunes from the talented musician (guitar player), whom I never actually saw. It was the next best thing to being serenaded by James Taylor. I chose the Salmon & spinach and my husband went with the steak. They both were presented well. Both of us enjoyed our dishes. We both however, felt they were a bit lacking in flavor, but enjoyable just the same. The place was packed by the time we finished up (Saturday evening, around 6:30 pm) and the chances of getting one of the prime tables would have been impossible by that time. If you're planning to try the Green Leaf, I'd defiantly recommend making a reservation and seating by the window. Love the uniqueness of the place. :)

This place is a good reprieve from the chain restaurant saturated town of Waynesboro. I ordered the fried oyster platter and my husband ordered the smoked salmon. We both had salads and wilted spinach for our sides. The meals were small in portion but that's fine for us since we aren't big over eaters anyway. The main dishes exceeded our expectation in regards to taste. The calamari appetizer we ordered was slightly under done. I also managed to steal a few sweet potato fries off my friends plate and they were excellent! Before our meal, we sat at the bar. The bartender was very informative and friendly. He had to keep asking me for my beer order because I was reading their beer menu like a book. Needless to say, there were plenty of choices of both beer an wine. Not like chain restaurants where the word "microbrew" is foreign in most cases. This restaurant does not have beer on tap. In summary-Friendly staff, great food quality with a good variety of choice in food and drink. Quaint atmosphere. I am excited to try new menu options in the future.

Stopped by lunch on the way to a meeting. Had the potato soup and prime rib sandwich. Soup was good but not great. Sandwich however was excellent. Toasted baguette, thinly sliced prime rib and excellent flavor. Also got a slice of the peanut pie based on the reviews and it was absolutely superb. Recommend stopping by here if your in the area. Very quaint old downtown area. Nathan was my server and was great as well.

Wide menu selection and excellent food. Waiters & waitresses are great folks that care about their customers satisfaction. However, recently I voiced a question to my wonderful waitress about a drink order. She quickly left to obtain an answer to my question. Next thing I know a bartender approaches my table with a disputation regarding one simple question. Embarrassing for my fiancé and my wonderful waitress.

We had dinner here tonight. It was fantastic. They have a nice craft beer (bottles only), wine & cocktail menu. Aside from our beers, we started off with the shrimp hush puppies. I could have just had another order for dinner! Very tasty! Soon after we had our house salads with chipotle ranch dressing. It was just a salad but it was fresh and the dressing was exactly what we expected. For our entrées, my husband's drunken shrimp was on point and I thoroughly enjoyed the stuffed portobello. We highly recommend The Green Leaf Grill. Cheers.

On our way from Baltimore to Asheville, N. C. we stayed over one night in Waynesboro, VA at a Holiday Inn Express on US 340 just off I-64. We were ready to shake off the rigors of the road and then head out for a nice sunday night supper. Googling for vegetarian we found The Green Leaf Grill on Main Street. The on line menu looked good. It took us less than ten minutes by car. Downtown Waynesboro is pretty sleepy on sunday night. We rolled in about 7pm and had no trouble getting seated. Green Leaf sells beer, wine and liquor, but we weren't interested. Nathan, our server, did an excellent job taking care of us. They had a soft crab appetizer. We told Nathan that we were from Baltimore and were a little skeptical about anyone preparing soft crabs this far from the shore. He told us the chef was from New Orleans. We ordered one crab and split it. It was very tasty. We also had the house salads. Each was very fresh and the dressings were local and original. We also ordered sweet potato fries that were good. Bette had the polenta entree which was a large serving and she really liked it. Based on the city of origin of the chef, I had the crawfish etouffee; also a good size serving and very well prepared. A little spicy, just right for me. No room for dessert. We have made a note that should we make our way through here again, we know a great place to eat.

We went here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. There were five in our party including a child in a highchair. We were promptly seated. They had live music (singer and guitar) which was a nice touch. Everything we ordered seemed fresh and looked good. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Out of the items I tasted (fish tacos, house chips, green beans, and sweet tea) everything was great. The house chips were definitely my favorite item. The service was friendly and personable. The menu also seemed to have a good selection of gluten free items (although we weren't looking specifically for gluten-free). The prices certainly aren't the cheapest in this area for this kind of food, but given the quality of service, taste of food, and nice atmosphere, we would definitely go here again.

I love this place. We've been three times and I've never had anything even close to a bad experience. They can get a bit busy on big nights, but the wait has never been too bad. And, we can often get street parking nearby if we time it right. They have all the local beer, cider, and wine available, which we appreciate. But the food and service is really what gets us coming back. The ribs, the fish and chips, the trout...it has all been great. And those hush puppies are for real. You can't show up for dinner and not order these. Great food at reasonable prices. Local joint serving local food. And the kids like it too!

Anytime we travel we do our best to avoid chain restaurants. Yelp led us to one of our best finds yet! There was plenty of street parking and we were warmly welcomed when we entered. The food is what really steals the show. My boyfriend has the Parmesan oyster appetizer and I had the shrimp stuffed hush puppies, yum to both! Continuing with our seafood theme he had the fried seafood platter, which was that perfect flaky kind of fried, not greasy at all. I went with the crab cakes which were amazing and chock full if crab meat. They may have been the best I've ever had. We found a little more room to share a slice of the key lime pie, not to be missed! With the great food, friendly service, and a a plethora of local beer and wine the Green Leaf Grill is a great place for dinner!

Waynesboro Va Best Restaurant. Always good food at reasonable prices. I try to eat there at least once a week.

I had a smoked turkey panini on ciabatta with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was different but very good. I will defiantly recommend this place. Everyone in my family enjoyed their meal and left extremely full. My only issue was that some things were a little high priced.

We love this restaurant and travel from Charlottesville to visit whenever we can. The prices are reasonable, the wine and beer list outstanding and the food (with the exception of scallops that were a little on the "fishy" side) has never disappointed us. The service is excellent and all in all, a fantastic place to dine.

I would give this restaurant a 4.5 if possible. Rarely do I find a restaurant that has good food and is worth the money. This is one such place. And, it is reasonably priced. We had beet salad, burger, and jambalaya. The beets were tasty but slightly watery - the balsamic dressing was superb. The burger was excellent - cooked exactly to order and tasty. Adding the aoli finished it off. The jambalaya was quite tasty and moist. The only negative was the slightly lackadaisical staff (thus the 4 rating instead of 5). They were not in any hurry to seat us and our waiter was quite nice but not attentive. Thanks to all who came before us to let us know that The Green Leaf was there. And, kudos to the chef.

Food was awesome, got the cheese appetizer plate expense but was very good. Son got the salmon, definitely taste like was well smoked. Wife the fish tacos, good, chips a little overcooked. I got the stuffed pork, was very good, Hanna was our waitress very good. Love the accent. Very knowledgeable. Was quite busy on a Saturday night at 6. Make reservations for larger groups.

First time there, waitor friendly. Ordered the flat iron steak, hoping it was as good as outbacks. The steak looked great, but tasted awful. It was mushy and after the third bite I could not eat anymore. So when the waitor came back to ask how the dinner was I told him. He surely saw that I did not eat it. Instead of taking something off the bill, they gave me two dollar cupcake. I got a to go box and took it out to my dogs.

We loved this place! Friendly service, great food, live music, affordable prices - the best place to eat for those passing through Waynesboro! Locals seem to love it too - the place was full. Their gumbo is fantastic!

It's a nice relaxed place to dine at, that being said... The prices need either lowering, or the food, and drinks need to be served with gold flakes if you don't want to leave the establishment without dropping $70 for two peoples food and drink tab, for those prices, I thought I was in Dc

Food is always very good! We have tried a lot of different things on the menu and it's always on point. One of our favorite places to go! The service here has always been good as well. They're very apologetic if they get behind, but it's a popular spot at certain times so to be expected. Cute, quaint little place. Definitely try if you're in the area. Most things can be made gluten-free.

Great food and as many times as we have visited waynesboro, we never knew it was here. Very diverse menu. Having been vegan, it's nice to see vegan and vegetarian options n the menu. Ryan was great server very knowledgeable and made great suggestions. Will defiantly come again when we're in waynesboro.

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant on a recent trip to Waynesboro. We are both vegetarians and we were ecstatic to see multiple vegetarian options on the menu! We love it when we don't have to both order the same thing. My husband had the Roasted Vegetable Napoleon and raved about it. I tasted the parsnips which make up the majority of the dish and they were spectacular. I had an Asian Chicken Salad minus Chicken, and it was also very good. The veggies were fresh and plentiful and the dressing was wonderfully savory. They were out of the peanut butter pie when it came time for dessert, but we each had a cupcake instead and were satisfied. Portion sizes were just-enough -- not overwhelming as is typical in many restaurants these days. We were promptly and kindly served by a very pleasant and slightly nervous young man. Service was prompt but we never felt rushed. Good pacing! The surroundings are small-town cozy. Cheery oil-painted canvases hang on the wall to liven up the low-light atmosphere. We sat at one of several booths on the perimeter of the dining room, but there are also numerous small tables that can be brought together for larger groups. We're glad we're going to be in Waynesboro for a week so we can visit again!

On a road trip from Minnesota to Washington DC. Found this via YELP. Great lunch. We had soup of the day, shrimp po boy and sweet potato fries. Extensive beer selection. Well worth the drive off the Interstate.

Everything was pretty good. Pork spring roll was tasty with the spicy sauce, the smoked chicken and caesar sandwiches were good. The homemade chips were good. Nothing blew my socks off but everything went down alright.

We were visiting a winery (Veritas) nearby and were in search for some grub! Yelp highly recommended the place and boy what a pleasant surprise!! The server was super friendly and was excited that we were tasting wines from the area. They had an oyster po'boy special that I HAD to try. The oysters were large, lightly battered and cooked perfectly!! Their home made chips are to die for!! I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!!

Hey Chris, Thanks for the response. I realize that restaurants don't need to be everything to everybody, but I'm glad to hear you are so receptive. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Seated smack dab in the downtown area of Waynesboro is this quaint little restaurant with a nice inviting atmosphere. Not much to write now so I'll cut to the chase. Good food! Stuffed chicken breast was delicious and my brother-in-law's country fried stake was huge. The selections for sides were just a tad limited, but overall I would eat here there again. We were a bit too early for the Dinner Specials, but the Chef seems to have what it takes.

My husband and I were in the area for a weekend getaway, and chose this for dinner based on the great reviews and walk-ability from our B&B. I called to make a reservation a few days in advance, but they must have been closed due to the winter weather. The owner called us back the next day, was very friendly, and we got the reservation we wanted. We showed up about an hour early and sat at the bar. The bartender (Paul) was really friendly, made great drinks, and although we don't normally sit at bars for dinner, we loved the ambiance from there so we passed on our dining room seats to stay at the bar. Husband highly recommends the raspberry martini! Chris (the owner) came by a few times and was cheerful/friendly. We only know of a few other places where the owner is so involved with the staff and customers on the floor. We asked Paul for recs and ended up with a bowl of a gumbo, a fried catfish po' boy, and the bacon wrapped scallop special. All the food was delicious!!!! My husband loves home made chips and was very pleased with the Green Leaf chips. The scallops were cooked very well - not always an easy task! We both loved the fried catfish - highly recommended! We got the peanut butter pie for dessert and it was delicious too. They had live music - a guy playing guitar and singing. He was great!! And we loved that we could still have a conversation while he was playing. We're so glad we found such an awesome place in Waynesboro! If we're back in the area, we will definitely be back here. Delicious food, great drinks, great ambiance, and friendly staff - what else do you need?

Great menu, huge selection and some yummy food!! The fried green tomatoes and flat iron steak were delicious. Great beer selection too!! Decor could use a little updating. It looks like grandma's house, but hey you're coming for the great food! I highly recommend stopping in.

Horrible food, I got the cheese steak sub on my visit, it was dry and flavorless. My girlfriend's meal was not good either. Stay away from this place, it's not worth your time.

Friendly staff, great local flavors. Had the beef sliders. The burgers were good, the most notable part was the tomatoes on the burger. This whole town is obsessed with locally grown food and with good reason. Definitely would recommend.

Happened upon this restaurant on a recent trip to Waynesboro. The food was excellent- Americana type food. We had the Artichoke dip, Drunken Shrimp, and Brie as apps. I had the stuffed chicken, and members of my party had the gumbo and shrimp alfredo .We were all very happy. The peanut butter pie and flourless chocolate cake were also amazing! Good local wine and beer selections. Fun and friendly atmosphere- wait service was very attentive and friendly. We went back for lunch the day after dinner- the buffalo chicken panini and red peper soup was delicious! If you're in Waynesboro for lunch or dinner, you should def hit this place up!

Came to Waynesboro today to do some hiking. Turns out we were in a cloud. So we had lunch at The Green Leaf Grill. The food was wonderful. My niece had the mixed fruit pancakes, the were stuffed with the fruit and other wonderful things. I had a wonderful Angus burger cooked to order with homemade french fries. True this is not a gourmet meal but everything was perfect the bun, the meat, even the special cheese I asked to substitute. But the service was with out a doubt the BEST I have had in a long time. I told the waitress that we were from Richmond and because of the rain we would like to go antique shopping instead. She asked the chef/cook in back and he came out to tell us where to find some great shops. He then came back a short time latter with hand written directions and a hand drawn map. This made our cloudy day bright and sunny. Thanks to the great team at The Green Leaf Grill.

Green Leaf Grill is a great place to grab lunch or dinner in downtown Waynesboro -- and it's nice to have a place that also serves beer and wine! The atmosphere is cozy, and their sandwiches and pizzas are good. Greenleaf also offers some gluten-free and vegan options too.

This is a great little place with interesting choices that opened just a couple months ago. Totally casual and comfortable. Nice wine & beer options. Paninis, fab pizzas, salads, good entrees. They offer a pizza with Vegan cheese that is super and other vegan/veggie options. They also offer Gluten Free pizza. It was tasty but could have been a bit crispier on the bottom. The wait staff are thoughtful and friendly and will check with the kitchen on any food questions you might have, like," Is this soup gluten free?" The lasagna is fabulous, the salads are generous and every panini is great. Greenleaf has just refreshed its decor to match their light and airy menu and motifs.

I must STRONGLY DISAGREE with Josh H. The food is wonderful! I haven't had a bad meal there yet! And as for the philly - mine was delicious just the other night and the homemade chips are to die for! Where else can you find sweet potato fries?! I will definitely be back - thank you Green Leaf for providing Waynesboro with a wonderful restaurant with so many options!!

The vibe for me was just not right at this restaurant. Couldn't quite put my finger on it........ service was fine. We was the only table eating there....... that makes me a little concerned when I go into a new place. I didn't think the portions was correct with the pricing. I wouldn't say stay away from this restaurant but there would be no reason for me to go back there either.

I've been to the Green Leaf a couple of times. The food is a bit heavy for me but the quality was good. Nice surroundings. A good lunchtime place.
