Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

We were on the way back from Fishersville (long story) and stopped in since CB sounded like a great idea as respite from the cold evening! Once inside, we were welcomed by the great fireplace and the friendly service we've come to expect at CBs, no matter where in the country. Since it was a Friday night, the special was a fish fry! I decided to order that, since I usually get pancakes. (Hubs still went with his signature french toast) The meal was very good, the service prompt and friendly (as always!) and CB is always a great value. Love their coffee!

Great place. It can get a little crowded and it may take 10 mins for a table to become available but it's worth it. From the friendly wait staff to the excellent food this place has it. I have been here multiple times and will continue returning.

I personally am not impressed. I am however obligated to note that my wife does not agree with my assessment and thinks that the rating should be 3 or 4. My own dissatisfaction comes from the general lackluster performance of both the wait staff and the cooking staff. My experiences at Cracker Barrel have involved relatively lengthy waits and relatively underwhelming food. No big gripe but no big accolades either.

After a weekend with the family in Waynesboro checking out the Blue/Brew Ridge Trail, we decided to pass on the free microwave breakfast at our nearby hotel and go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We had a party of 6 so, not surprisingly, there was a wait. There always seems to be a wait at Cracker Barrel - where else can the natives go to get a breakfast platter with 3 sides and a helping of southern charm and sass? And besides, if you have to wait, you just hang out in the shop, right? Our time browsing the store was fairly brief - about 15 minutes or so - and we were seated in the busy dining room. If you have never been to a Cracker Barrel during a breakfast rush, here's what to expect: Efficient service designed to move you through the meal quickly, servers and food runners hauling massive orders back and forth, and tables jam packed with food. Choose one of your meat options as the focus of your breakfast, and you'll also get 2 or 3 eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy, and your choice of hash brown casserole or fried apples. This Cracker Barrel is representative of it's chain - they've got the staff and the experience to handle the crowds and move people in and out without making them feel too rushed. The food is like any other Cracker Barrel - heavy, hearty, filling, comfort food that won't win any awards on creativity, but are tasty tried and true classics. If you're looking for an instant heart attack, kitschy stocking stuffers for your relatives who live in Appalachia, and/or to pack in 80% of your daily calories into a single meal, then Cracker Barrel is your place.

The place just feels tired ! Since its opening and depression the quality and atmosphere has change! It's now just a job! The quality seems heavily on salt and less fresh even though it was 10:30. Biscuits are smaller a little old . Smoked sausage heavy on the liquid smoke . Apple butter great service . Manager ran over to take my ticket and to sale me some candy!

I loved the little knick knacks all around the restauraunt. Food was pretty okay...not that best breakfast food I've ever had...but pretty good. Even though the first person who served us, wasn't the best, another server came and took over the handling of our table and did an excellent job!

Very interesting place. Went after a hike to nearby Humpback Rocks. Before you reach the restaurant area, there are too many things in your face they are willing to sell. Hostess was kind. Being a vegetarian, I wasn't sure I had much to eat here. Everything seemed to have eggs and bacon. I ordered pancakes and hashbrown casserole. Pancakes were yummy and nothing you would usually get at a pancake place. And, they come with hot maple syrup. Yum. And, a fun board puzzle to solve while your food arrives. I'll go try this place again, and recommend it to everyone who's looking to try southern cuisine.

Standard Cracker Barrel fare. Not Veteran/Military discount friendly. Meh. @Removeyourhat

I recommend this Cracker Barrel to any country travelers! I'd only been to two other CBs in the past somewhere in Pennsylvania/DE and really enjoyed their home-cooked charm. On this viist, I was in Waynesboro for a wedding at a nearby vineyard and a bunch of our friends decided to go here for brunch the next day. We had a group of 12 and, despite the 45-minute wait, we were seated comfortably and served well. I also really enjoyed the gift shop and "auction" of sale items outside the restaurant. These definitely kept us entertained. In terms of food, I'd suggest the mashed potatoes and mac 'n cheese as sides. The country fried chicken looked awesome and the chicken tenders I had were very yummy. Hearty. Wholesome. Fun!

Very consistant food from one Craker Barrel to another. Service here is good and the food comes out of the kitchen quickly. If you have an RV, there is parking for your unit which is a big plus.
