This review regards use of gift cards. Do not buy gift cards for this place. I received a $50 one as a gift and when I went to use it I watched a cashier nervously swipe it 4 times and then saying that it appears it has nothing on it. When the swiping started it was for the full amount of $50. The guy essentially drained my gift card and then claims that it was empty. I called and checked it before I got there and it was full. After the swiping I checked it and it was $0. I had to use my credit card to pay for our order. It was clear he was not 100% comfortable with running the register, but this mistake nullified my gift card with no recourse. The reason I recommend not using a gift card at this place is because I don't think this an isolated incident. I think it is a place that is not familiar with gift cards and a mistake like this could easily happen again. Burgers are great, but staff seems shaky.

Yum, its been a few months since my last visit here, but the burgers are always solid. Also if you don't eat red meat they do have a very good turkey burger, or chicken sandwich on the menu both of which I've tried. The also have a tuna burger which I've been wanting to try but haven't mustered up the courage to do so yet. Their fries are excellent, I recommend adding the parmesan to them, it adds a nice bit of flavor. Their shakes are also really good too.

Just finished a late lunch after an afternoon of shopping. I've been in here once before but couldn't remember anything about it, so I have it another shot. For about $15 I got a grilled chicken sandwich and their shake off the month. As others have said, the tables are dirty. Like salt or sand all over the place. It was late in the day so this easily could have been cleaned after the lunch rush. The milkshake was good but not $6 good. The chicken sandwich didn't stick but it wasn't inspiring. As I'm sitting here, someone is cleaning of the tables but the one next to me still has stiff all over it so I think they need to address how to clean.

Mushroom Topping is an explosion of umami! So great to get a side of asparagus instead of fries. Always enjoy my meal. Not your run-of-the-mill burger toppings.

The worst burger place I've been to! The staff was rude, the place was gloomy and sad. Will not go back there!!

Great place! Delicious! In error we were charged for an extra children's meal and I said no problem as we knew the sliders would get eaten in our group. Right away the manger refunded me, packed it to go for my daughter to eat later and threw in a huge cookie for a midnight snack. Great customer service and everyone's dinner was delicious. Definitely coming back when we return to the area!

We came in 45 min before close and the staffs attitude was a bit unacceptable in my opinion. If they want to close early and go home then close early don't give me attitude because I want to give you my money. I am very hungry and it is now 8:38 when I ordered at 8:20 seems to take a while......I gave a 3 star because the food quality in the past has been good but the service just seems to be getting worse. I can see this business not doing well as they continue....sad! Hope you really take a look at what people are saying and improve!

Was here the first time here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the burger n fries. I had ordered their 'Triple D' burger which houses a runny egg and a big slice of roasted jalapeño. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The fries were great too! Would surely be coming back if not for the only point that I paid about $16.72 for the burger regular fries and regular drink, and that for me is expensive.

I went there for the first time today and ordered a double burger with no bun to go, excited to try a new joint. Well, they must not have guessed I would eat my burger with a fork, because I opened the lettuce wrap to find a "short and curly" stuck to one of the patties. I would love to hear how that can happen by accident. If a person on death row requested one of these burgers then I would politely tell them to reconsider. Just so you know, there was no incident in the restaurant. I can't think of any motivation. Maybe they were bored, or just walk around periodically scratching and then flipping, but whatever the reason I would recommend staying far, far away.

I came here with my husband and was really looking forward to trying this place. It was such a disappointment! My burger was ok. It just had cheese, bacon, and lettuce.. My husband got the Wellington burger and it was so disgusting and looked horrible. It comes with onions but they forgot them. He then asked for a hot dog because he couldn't eat the burger. The hot dog was suppose to have onions... Once again they forgot them. When he tried telling the girl that took his order and she just ignored him! We will NOT be back! We just wasted $40 on two burgers, fries, and a hot dog. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is nasty and way over priced! It's ridiculous!

If I had to pick between this place and Five Guys, BGR would would win by a narrow margin. My hamburger with the works was well presented (I've become too used to burgers being sloppily assembled). It didn't have the "heaviness" that I've come to expect from the fast-casual burger experience. I ordered it with the fries, which were above average. They were crispy and not over salted, so I have no complaints. The restaurant itself is fairly small. We had a big group and were able to push together a few tables, but it was a tight fit. This might become my new go-to burger.

I've tried them twice now and I'm just not a fan. I understand they've won awards but I'm just not interested in returning. Maybe it was just an off day or something. We all have them. Their fries are delicious but the burger just wasn't what I was hoping for. The tomato was mushy on my burger yet the burger was very, very dry. The staff are super friendly and the place is clean.

This place has a schizophrenic theme. It's trying to be a sports bar with draft beer (served in plastic cups freshman broseph frat style LOL) and TVs, but then they're trying to be a wholesome family diner with Mickey Mouse and Superman art under the table glass. Still yet, the walls are adorned with Rock 'n' Roll memorabilia, but the brand screams barbecue joint. Couple all that with a restaurant that is tiny, cramped, loud and dirty, and you have a recipe for a place that you just want to eat in really quickly and get the hell out of. The burgers themselves -- like the actual hamburger meat part -- was amazing. Great flavor, cooked perfectly to order, juicy, flavorful. But everything else -- the overly bready bun, the toppings, etc., were just OK. They actually overpowered and took away from the beauty that was the beef (and I very, very, very rarely eat beef, much less beef that isn't grass-fed). The fries were really weak. No peanut oil, skin-on, crispies, nothing special at all about them. They do let you add custom seasoning, so I had the rosemary fries. But it wasn't even fresh rosemary. It just ended up being a pile of dried rosemary flakes in the bottom of the basket that weren't even really attached to the fries, so the flavor was basically lost and not worth it. I also tried the sweet potato fries, which are way better because at least they were crispy. I don't need to ever come back here.

0 stars is what this place deserves! Overpriced and disgusting burgers. The Wellington my wife ordered looked like someone.....well....it looked and tasted disgusting. The fries were ok. You can see from the various reviews this place gets, the results are substandard for a Northern Virginia based restaurant. I do not see this place being around for long. For my money and taste buds, Five Guys is waaaaaaaaaay better! Did I mention this place was overpriced? Edit: Another reviewed made the following comment about the Wellington " Looked like someone opened a can of Campbells Mushroom soup and just dumped it into a pan. Grey gelatinous goop all over burger. " Totally 100% on point except it looked waaay most disgusting.

After several months....I finally got a chance to try this place out. Every time I go to 'Golds Gym' I get tempted by the burger aroma from BGR. (It's right next to Golds). I was disappointed when I ordered by Cheddar Burger. (Cooked Medium Rare....just how I like it). I also had some tasty asparagus with parmesean cheese as a side. I'm hooked now and have gone in twice in the past two weeks. I'm already planning my next visit this week.

A proper burger, grilled to order, good selection of toppings. Needs free wifi.

More than a bit overpriced. Burgers are OK, but on the small side. They do seem to use higher quality (allegedly organic) beef. It's a bit ridiculous that fries are extra. Service is usually a bit curt. Kind of strange to have a place that wants to charge you bourgeois, nicer sit-down restaurant prices (and offers lobster burgers and garlic rosemary fries) to have a dive-style customer service attitude. I think they call that "the worst of both worlds".

Came here as a recommendation, unfortunately I never got to try a burger because there was nobody there to take my order. I waited at the counter almost 10 minutes, and gave up and left. As I was leaving there were two employees standing around smoking cigarettes. Take turns next time guys, maybe you won't loose customers.

Not a huge burger fan but like one once in a while. Got myself the Greek burger made of lamb meat. Asked for a jalapeño which was $.99 extra. The meat was good but the bun was very soggy at the bottom which I really didn't like. The second burger was missing a jalapeño. Took them another 5 mins to get that out. Will I go back? Maybe.

Want to eat a burger that you're not ashamed to tell other people about? Get a burger here. The burgers are juicy; they offer a wide range of toppings and sides. The staff are very friendly. I've eaten here a number of times, and it's one of my go-to locations when I have people visiting from out of town.

My favorite burger place of all time :) Friendly staff, quick service and very clean. I personally recommend the legend with a side of sweet potato fries.....and maybe a milk shake :)

I've had better, for less! I had heard good things about this chain. So when I found out there was one near where I was working, I had to give it a try. But I spent $15 for a double burger and fries. And neither were really that good. It's not to say they were bad. Average, yes. But that's it.

Still the best shakes in town after trying a few more. I gave BGR a couple of more stars based off of how many times my boyfriend and I actually come back. I still prefer my burger from five guys but we come here probably twice a week for some fries with some "spice it up sauce" on the side and of course my favorite chocolate shake. It's always busy when we are here so we have yet to actually eat inside. We live close enough that our food stays warm until we make it home. Right now their shake of the month is mint chocolate so my boyfriend is in heaven! I recommend this place to anyone who likes burgers and fries and it is a MUST TRY for shakes.

Tonight we picked up our usual delicious burgers and fries from BGR sterling and came home and just when we were just finishing up eating, the doorbell rang. It was the manager from BGR who had personally come to return my wallet which I had unknowingly left at the restaurant. He would not accept any compensation for the trouble. If the delicious food wasn't enough, this act of integrity and excellent customer service has solidified BGR as our first choice burger joint!

Decent. Thought it was a bit overpriced and a bit undercooked. Also, they were out of both the green tea and the iced tea. However, the burger was tasty.

I've been here so many times and the food has never disappointed me. Their veggie burger is so good and it doesn't have soy which I like. The fries are amazing. The staff is super nice. The burgers are delish too. I never feel gross or super full after their food. Doesn't taste like they put crap and fillers in their food, I can tell. Love this place.

Love this place and the Tysons location. The dry aged beef makes all the difference. I prefer this place to Burgerfy or Melt in Leesburg. Shakes are delicious too, love the selection of draft beer and the onion rings are great. Being pregnant and having to eat well done burgers for awhile I can say these burgers are juicy. I usually get the regular burger with spice it up but I really like their burgers of the month too.

Love this place. Have gotten delivery & eaten in person. Always excellent unique food. In person, it can be quite packed but it's understandable. Wish there was one closer to me in Ashburn (only complaint).

Fresh ground beef...fresh toppings!!! I come from California and we have In & Out there, which is also fresh everything. When my husband took me to BGR I was skeptical...NOT ANY MORE!!! Even my son loves the BGR sliders. He also thinks the decor is "awesome!" The only reason we're not back on a regular basis is because of the price. Prices are on the high side, so for us they're an indulgence.

Actualy, I'm somewhat torn as to how to rate this place. My husband thinks 3 stars was right, while I'm willing to go to 4 stars. So...probably 3 1/2 stars would be most accurate. Before coming here, we had to figure out where exactly in the shopping center it was. Reviews from other Yelpers gave helpful info, as did Google maps. When we got here, I realized that it is where the Exxon-Mobil gas station used to be. Shows how observant I am --- I've driven right past it and never noticed this change LOL! We got here around 5 p.m. on a Saturday. There were a few customers around, mostly dining outside. When we got to the counter, we were greeted by a friendly cashier who even repeated our order back to us to be sure it was right. Then we were given a pager plus 2 cups for our sodas. The soda machine had Coke products. It's one of those new machines that dispenses a wide variety of sodas, complete with a touch screen. I must say that the dining area, while not the biggest, felt spacious. We thought back on our dining experience at Melt Gourmet in Leesburg and agreed BGR has a far better dining area. Like Melt, the burgers are served on metal pizza plates. When the pager went off, my husband went to the counter to retrieve our order. My husband ordered a burger cooked medium, with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. Plus he got a side of onion rings. The burger was cooked properly and was very juicy. I tasted his onion rings and thought that, while very thick, were well prepared as the onion stayed put after the first bite instead of coming out of the batter. I ordered a burger cooked medium, with American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Plus I got a side of fries. My burger, too, was properly cooked. The bacon used was good quality as were the tomatoes. The fries were tasty when hot but after sitting a while, slipped into mediocrity. What my husband didn't like --- the onions used were carmelized---he would have preferred raw onions. That, of course, is his personal preference. What we both found to be somewhat odd --- there was fresh dill added to the toppings. I don't dislike dill but it seemed to overtake the other flavorings in the burger. We also thought that they could have gone easier on the lettuce as there was a bit much on the burger. The dining area had 80s piped-in music but it wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Oddly enough, the bathrooms had different music, geared to kids. There was a song playing, complete with kids voices, singing about inventors like Thomas Edison---that was both odd and amusing at the same time. Each table has several condiments on it. In addition to ketchup and mustard, there was tabasco and malt vinegar---that was a nice touch as few places offer up such variety. Total cost for the both of us was just under $30. I think that we would consider going again sometime.

Every time my boyfriend and I come here, it's never a disappointment. The workers are polite and welcoming, the food is great as well! The burgers and juicy and cooked the way you want them. I do wish they would move the menu board to somewhere more comfortable to look at though. Other than that, BGR is by far a good burger place to go to!

  • Larissa M.

I will never come back. I asked for a medium cooked burger & it was rare. The onion was to b sautéed onions the only one that was on the burger was raw. The bun was very soggy. The only thing that was good was the cheese & the bacon.

The burgers here are better than your average burger place. You'd hope so for the prices. I really liked the Cuban. The sweet potato fries are pretty good too!

This place was alright. Came here with my fam after a long day at the waterpark. We wanted something quick, good and decently priced. I know, we're asking for a lot. Anyway, my brother-in-law and sis suggested this place so off we went. I ordered a turkey burger w/ all the fixins. The patty had Gorgonzola cheese and portabello mixed in with it. It was decent but I wasn't wowed. My husband had a plain burger with American cheese and ketchup. He said it was good and that he'd go back again. We also ordered the grilled asparagus and they were good but heavily seasoned w/ black pepper which had a couple of us choking and throwing back water for a bit. My sis ordered the sweet potato fries and I actually really liked them, thought they were better than the ones at "The Counter" in Reston. Service was fast and friendly, as much as you can expect for a burger joint. We sat outside and it was nice. Overall, I gave it 3 stars because to me it was just a middle of the road burger joint. It was pricey for what we were getting and they charge you $1 extra just to put cheese on your burger. I like Five Guys better and they are cheaper. Would I come back? Maybe, if I was desperate...but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

The food is ok, but what really weighs on rating this place is just how filthy dirty it is. Regardless of what table you sit at and time of day, the place is filthy. The tables, seats, napkin holders are so caked with dried who knows what that it makes you wonder just how dirty the kitchen and food prep areas are. It's a shame given how easy this would be to correct.

Decided to give BGR a try last night to see what some of the great and not so great reviews were all about. I probably will not be returning based on my meal last night. We arrived and looked over the menu and ordered. We were ordering to go and got 2 burgers, one of the wellington and one regular burger, an order of sweet potato fries and a mint shake. All of this came to $35 dollars, which in my opinion was not worth it. The burgers were okay but I would chose a melt burger or even five guys over bgr. The lettuce was limp and the buns got soggy and fell apart. The sweet potato fries were luke warm and we had to reheat them before we even took them out of the container. The shake was not bad even though in each sip I was expecting little chocolate chips but got ice crystals every time. So it was okay because I wanted to try it one time just to see what it was about, but I won't be back. ***EDIT*** In response to Nate's comment after my review I felt like I had to clear something up. He stated "As with any premium product the food is best when its eaten on site" I'm sorry but I live 5 minutes away from BGR, I go to five guys which is the same distance from my house in comparison to bgr and to melt which is 25 minutes from my house and order to go mostly every time and have never had a problem with the quality diminishing because I took it home to eat, I'm sorry but that's a lousy excuse.

As a vegetarian, this is a fabulous place to go when in mixed company with carnivores. They can get their beef, chicken, whatever. I get a delicious veggie burger. I love all the options for the fries. The times I've been there have both been in great, sunny weather so I love the outdoor seating. I also like the fact that they go off and make my burger, and signal me later when it's ready. I hate standing around for an indefinite time while someone makes my food. A mock criticism is that I think when I tried to get my fountain drink I launched a satellite into orbit. Or maybe I began an experiment on the international space station. All I know is that after a lot of taps on touch screens that look like they were from the USS Enterprise, the correct soft drink came out. I'm just not sure whether I inadvertently leaked classified NSA documents while I was at it. The soda was good. Better living through chemistry. Oh, and they play "Schoolhouse Rock" in the men's room. How cool is that? ...Rufus Xavier Sarsparilla...

We had a groupon for BGR that was about to expire - WHAT took us so long to discover this place??? We loved it! The hubs had a beef burger w/ jalapeno peppers, lettuce and pepperjack cheese, the teenager ordered sliders, and toddler had a hotdog, and I had a chicken sandwich. There was barely a crumb left. The chicken sandwich was juicy and hot and the bun toasted perfectly. The fries were fresh and hot! Service was wonderful as well. The only downside was they were busy and didn't have a chance to clean up after a wave of customers and we had to clean the spilled drink on the floor beside our table. Totally understand why this place is busy! We will be back, very soon! The wine.. they have wine! Awesome!! Also, the soda dispenser - it has more choices than a grocery store.

I've been here multiple times and for some reason I just leave a little disappointed... its not terrible, but at the same time it's not as good as it should be for the price. I've had most menu items and my favorite seems to be the sliders. For some reason I find them better than the actual regular size burgers. The mojo sauce on the side is pretty tasty and I usually order an extra serving of it. If I'm craving a burger and don't want to drive this place will do, but I'd rather drive an extra 10 minutes to go to MELT in leesburg.

Anyone who knows how to cook a good burger knows you never press down on it while it is cooking. I believe the cook at this location thinks the burger is only done once he is unable to squeeze anymore juice out of it. They are so dry and chewy. Wish someone would tell him you don't touch the burger once it is over the flame except to flip it. Also, not a fan of Rosemary on my burger. However, the fries are really good.

    (2)
  • MaryAnn T.

Excellent burgers, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. We had a delicious lunch and great service. The burgers were cooked perfectly and weren't greasy as you get in most places. We love this place!

  • Carly C.

I went back for the first time since my original review. The bacon cheddar cheeseburger was good - the bacon was thick with rosemary. I 'spiced up' my cheeseburger with pepper Jack, grilled onions and jalapeños, and a spicy sauce. I didn't care for the sauce, but I don't like condiments on my burgers. The onion rings were battered and greasy. The kids' sliders were tiny, smaller than the bun. I think that was the biggest disappointment. For the price of $45 for a family of four, I would choose another burger joint... but it's not bad.

    (3)
  • Robert B.

BURGER! No, seriously - BURGER! This place is really, really, really good - they don't mess around with their burgers here and they give you exactly what you're paying for (in a good way). The Wellington burger is, if you're a shroom burger fan, one to get. The onion "rings" are the size of bracelets and the shakes are thick. Yeah, it's pricey compared to, say, McD's, but it's worth it.

  • Kara M.

Went here on Tuesday. Had to wait 5 min to order despite only have a couple in front of us. The girl on the register was unfriendly and incompetent. The food took 15 minutes to arrive and was cold when we ate it 30 seconds later. $30 for 2 burgers splitting a fry drink and cookie is ridiculous. The floor was sticky and gross as well.

  • Nary D.

Not a big fan of hamburgers as much as my husband & daughter, but I don't mind going to BGR because they offer a turkey burger which I really like. PROS: Menu selection is pretty good if you do not like just hamburgers. Portion size of the fries are good. The fact that they make/cook the food to order/your request regarding temperature and dressing. Also, they offer additional sides that are healthy (e. g. grilled asparagus) Quaint little restaurant setting with large garage doors that open in the warmer months. CONS: Size of their burgers for the price. Burgers are very small compared to other burger joints.

    (3)
  • Sam C.

You can get a really good burger here, but you've got to insisting having things done your way. They'll agree, but you have to insist again and again, or they'll just do it the way they think you want it. For example, they say they toast the buns, but they just warm them for a second. Also, it's almost impossible to get them to put a slice if raw onion on your burger. Beware of undercooking e.g. if you want a medium burger, it's hard for them to do that. The fries are good. I wish they had malts!

My parents seem to LOVE this place. And apparently my mom has a VIP card. A month ago, my dad wanted this place so bad that I had to fight him to go to a closer burger joint. But this past weekend, the boyfriend and I finally caved. I got The Burger with lettuce, pickles, and onions with an order of onion rings (I'll take onion rings over fries any day and these were SWEET. Extra yum.) I was actually pretty impressed with the burger and the onion rings... YUM. The staff here was also very friendly. The only down side is that this used to be an On the Run, so the location is tiny and, therefore, seating is limited. Also, it's pretty far from the house unless I'm going out to Sterling anyways... So, unless I get an inkling or an invite, I'll probably stick to my regular burger place. But I was definitely glad I tried this one.

Nice little location but their burgers were only meh. I enjoyed their burger at Tyson better. The burgers here were dry although we ordered medium temperature.

    (3)
  • Emarie H.

My husband and I both ordered our burgers medium well, but both were well done and kinda tough. The onion rings are huge and very good. For the money, I don't think this burger was worth it. I would rather go to Burger Fi or Kraze Burger.

  • Jason D.

This place has a big problem. You never know what your going to get. I've had AWESOME burgers from here that makes me want to go back but then the next time it's a different size, cooked differently and that is just not good... especially at these prices. This time I tried the GREEK which was not something I would do again. I guess you have to just like that kind of thing. I will probably go back but very unhappy with the inconsistency of this place

    (3)
  • Scott C.

3.5 Stars is really my rating. They would earn a 4 star rating if the prices were a bit lower, or the bun were a bit better. $20 for a Burger w/fries + shake + soda. If you are a fan of harder to find soda, you will love it as they have the most fountain choices I have ever seen. All the ingredients seem top notch and they know what to do with them. The bun was a bit hard and not worthy of a premium burger. Milkshake and fries were both excellent. If I could get a milkshake at Five Guys, I would probably never go here, as I have no interest in the more haute burgers.

Update! I still feel the same way about this place. I went through a period of time where I was visiting around once every two or three weeks, and I think I burnt out, but I visited again recently and the verdict: Super Delicious! Their burger of the month (February, 2013) is called the Triple D and it has prime beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled jalapenos, and an over easy egg! Holy moly! You better believe I tried that $10.99 burger, and I loved it. Last year in February they had what was called the Suracha burger, and I was hoping they'd have it again, but oh well. This was quite a delicious creation as well, and I keep thinking about returning before the end of the month so I can grab another one before it's too late! Some other basic info about BGR: The food is delicious, gourmet, and pricey. When I say pricey think around $7 to $12 per burger depending on what you get (they have lamb, and all kinds of crazy stuff you can get). They also have a modest, but decent beer selection, an old-fashioned diner kind of atmosphere, and friendly, helpful service. Try it out!

Reviewing this after my second visit to this particular location. I'm really glad this place has popped up a location in Sterling. I was underwhelmed on my visit to the original Bethesda location a long time ago, but I've probably come to appreciate a good burger much more since then. Cooking to order is always better, and BGR does that. This BGR has a somewhat convenient location, though it's ironic that it's next to a gym. The place is clean, well-lit, and has enough seating for a small burger joint. After my second visit to this place, I'm glad to say that quality consistency is there. Even with different crews working behind the counter and in the kitchen, the burger and fries that I got were prepped to my order and had great flavor. The burger was well-seasoned with pepper and spices, the free toppings were fresh and flavorful, and the bun itself was high quality. I like the fact that they put consideration into the bun (which has sesame seeds on top) and don't squish it down like some other places do. The fries (regular) are awesome. They are a good, hearty size with a great crunchy exterior and a creamy, potatoey inside. I think I've come to crave their burger just as much as their fries. The staff is friendly and thorough - they make sure your order is done correctly and are willing to fix mistakes if they happen (rare from my observations). They actually have draft beers if you're down for a pint. I will have to try out of their specialty offerings sometime, and I'm excited to see that they have a special burger on rotation. Prices are on par for the gourmet-burger field, so expect to pay about 12+ bucks after tax for a burger and fries. Overall, this is a great place to grab a quality burger. Don't expect to find massive amounts of seating here, but you could get a good group of 6 or so without feeling like you're taking over the place. Consistent, high quality and great staff make it a standout among the available burger joints in the area. Note: I think they give you more fries when you order to go (which I've done).

Nothing really special about this place compared to other burger joints in the area. If you are nearby, do yourself a favor and drive out to Melt in Leesburg if you want a great burger. If you don't want to drive all that way this place will do. They could use some help cleaning up though, most of the tables were a bit dirty and so was the bathroom.

Great Burgers. Tasty fries. There is not much to this place. It's a great place for lunch. I love the options for the burgers - especially the Wellington Burger. I need a fork and knife to eat it with because it's a mess, but wow... so delicious. For what it is - a burger place - 4 stars for having some of the best burgers around. Certainly the best in Sterling.

Got the basic burger with The Works. Mojo dressing is tasty. Like that the onions are grilled and not raw. At $7 with no drink or fries it's not cheap but it is a good burger.

I drove around forever trying to find BGR and finally realized that the address listed on Yelp is incorrect. It's 46230 Cranston Street and it's tucked away back by the Golds Gym. The restaurant itself is small. They have about 13 tables and really no waiting/standing room so it can get very crowded when you are waiting for your food. They've installed an electronic soda machine which keeps the condiments area nice and neat (it's all touch screen). They have ~12 unique burgers on the menu including Cuban, Lobster, Southwestern, Tuna and Lamb burgers. The burgers aren't very large in size but have lots of flavor. The meat is very tender and juicy. I ended up trying the Wellington which came with roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, black truffle and crumbled blue cheese. I'm not a huge fan of cheese on my burger but the crumbled blue cheese infused nicely with the bun giving the burger a nice texture. They don't overload the burgers with the toppings so they stay nice and neat when you eat them. Huge plus for me. During lunch time M-F 11am-2pm you can get a lunch special - burger, fries, soda for 8.99. It would be nice if they offered some sort of combo for dinner as well as the price can add up. They offer fries, sweet potato fries, gigantic onion rings, and for those on a health kick - asparagus fries. I tried the regular gold yukon fries which were very good. They are on the thicker side and they give you a very large portion. Good for sharing! For those up for a challenge, there is something on the menu called the "9 pounder" which has been featured as an eating competition on all the popular food networks. The actual weight including bun and condiments is 15.4 pounds. Two heads of lettuce, eight tomatoes, three red onions and four whole pickles. Apparently, it also comes with a bottle of Maalox - HAHAHA!. If one person can eat it in one sitting it's free. Feeds approx 10-15 and you have to give them 24 hours notice. I believe i the price was $79.99. One last note, they also serve beer by the pitcher and shakes. The shake of the month for Dec is gingerbread!

Really good "the Burger" at a reasonable price. Hubby loves the Wellington, but visually, it puts me off. Maybe I should eat it with my eyes closed? :) Delicious garlic fries; our go-to burger night most months.

In the Loudoun county burger battle, BGR is the loser. I had a bacon cheeseburger with the mojo sauce. The burger wasn't great, the mojo sauce was weird and everything was sprinkled with rosemary. Not what I want in a burger. My husband had the wellington burger and hated it. We also got the fries and onion rings. The fries tasted like ore-ida frozen fries and the onion rings seemed undercooked. So far, for our family, we are die hard Melt Gourmet Cheeseburger fans. We wanted to like BGR but there wasn't much to like.

The first time I tried this place it was sub-par. My bro told me it must have been an off night. I gave them another shot and it was one of the worst burgers I ever tried to eat. Even though I ordered medium the burger was crusty and burned on the outside and very, very loose. My wife commented that it was like they scraped the burnt bits off the grill squeezed them together and served it. She also ordered a medium burger and got rare...but compared to my burger she "lucked out". I would recommend this place to no one.

Very consistently good burgers! I've eaten here no fewer than 20 times, and I've never gotten a bad burger or undercooked burger. I've had one or two slightly overcooked (I like med-rare to medium, which makes most cooks nervous), but they've always been very nice about making a new one. The turkey burger is surprisingly delicious, but I highly recommend getting it with the mushrooms (two words: truffle oil). I would avoid the toppings on your fries if it annoys you to get a few sprinkles of parmesan for $1, but keep in mind that they will add more for free if you ask! Also, they have one of those amazingly entertaining coke machines that has a billion different flavors to choose from. Just...make sure to let others go first if you're the indecisive type ;)

This place is way too expensive for what you're getting. Nowhere in my mind does a hamburger and an order of fries meet the value of $15.00 to $20.00 - FOR ONE PERSON! The fries are good, but, well, they should be. If you run a burger joint, there is no excuse to serve bad french fries. It's potatos cooked in oil, lightly seasoned with salt. That shouldn't be hard for any restaurant to do. The burgers are greasy, and my first time eating there the bun completely crumbled in my hands making the burger impossible to eat. It was so disappointing. This was not the burger my mouth was craving. Months later I gave the place another try. On my second visit I ordered the Welington which is supposedly some form of masterpiece for a burger. I'll admit that my first two bites sent my taste buds into orbit, but then they caught on. If this burger is such a masterpiece of flavor, why is it the only thing you can taste is the overpowering cheese? The cheese is so strong that despite all the various ingredients that are on the burger, to and include the burger itself, you won't taste anything but it. Then you start to factor in the price again, and realize that BGR is just not worth it. We're still waiting for a great burger joint in the Sterling VA area.

I had a burger, fries (with parmesan and garlic), and a drink, and my bill was almost $17. I don't care how good the burger is, that is ridiculous. They have a combo meal, but only for lunch. I guess they figure they can get away with charging you almost double for dinner. I've eaten twice here and both times I've left not that impressed. It's just too expensive for what you get, and I felt like I got ripped off. The beef is good quality, sure, but I expected a restaurant-quality meal for that price and didn't feel like I received it. The fries are a fairly good portion size, and you could easily split them with another person. The burgers are large as well, and you may not even want fries if you aren't that hungry. The restaurant is fairly small and there isn't a lot of seating. It probably didn't help my mood that I had to wait for a table to open before I could sit down and eat my meal. They have additional tables outside but that doesn't help you in the winter. The specialty burger joint trend is in full effect and I'm definitely not complaining about the increase in quality. But, for the price this place is charging, their burgers just aren't that great.

Serious turn around. The employees are amazing now, they're quick. They food is amazing! Every time I've come the person at the register is ridiculously friendly. Asking things like "want some water while you wait?" And making sure you know why you ordered and they know what you ordered.. Love it here

This place is tucked away in a shopping center in Sterling in an old gas station next to the Gold's Gym. The spot is pretty cool, but VERY small. The burgers themselves are decent and flavorful, but they are way overpriced in my opinion. The onion rings are good and the freestyle coke machine is really fun. Why 3*s? Well, when you compare BGR to other joints in the NOVA area; like MELT Gourmet in Leesburg, Burger 21 in Ashburn, Big Buns in Arlington, Market Burger in Purcellville, or Ray's in Arlington; BGR just doesn't compare. They do have some other patty options like Ahi Tun or Veggie, if that's your thing. If you are a burger lover, this place is definitely worth the visit if you are in the Sterling area; just know there are better options out there if you are willing to drive.

What a great burger joint! I got The Wellington (this is the burger that all mushroom and blue cheese burgers dream of being!) and he got The Cuban (with some lamentation that he should have added bacon to the burger and two kinds of pork already present!). One side of fries and one of onion rings. Both were great, and each table has all the condiments you might want which is a big plus from me. The burgers are cooked to order, based on how done you would like them to be. Love that there's a burger of the month (even though we didn't try it this time). Slightly more expensive than some other fast casual burger places, but the burger itself, as well as the quality of the toppings (roasted mushrooms, slow roasted pork - come on!) certainly justified this. I don't eat burgers too often, but this is what they should taste like when I do!

I've been on a burger-binge lately since hitting up Fat Burger in Vegas last week. I had a groupon so I thought I would finally make use of it since I had a good base-line to compare it to. With so many restaurants vying for your burger dollars (I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today,) I think the quality of beef is all fairly high, so it comes down to how it's cooked, and quality of toppings and bun. This place is three stars good. Being cooked to order is a huge plus, but being cooked to perfection is a real gem. (Nothing makes me crazier than a restaurant telling me how I have to eat my burger, Gordon Biersch). My medium rare came out cooked to perfection. I probably would have given BGR a fourth star, but the cook was seriously heavy-handed with the salt shaker. The 'burger to bun' ratio was spot on,and the toppings, including their mojo sauce were all quality. I didn't try any fries or rings, as those are just empty calories. I'll be trying this place again, I think without the saltiness it would be a solid four stars.

BGR is one of my favorite chains, and I thought the Sterling location held up the standard. I don't go for anything fancy here, and mostly just prefer a cheeseburger, but I think it's a mark of a quality restaurant when they do the basics so well. I also really love the garlic fries; I will eat the pieces of roasted garlic themselves!

Well, I don't know why I keep coming back to this place. I keep expecting a better experience. This time was worse than before, I ordered "The burger" and fries which came to about $12. * this was a "to-go" order So the girl taking my order spoke so fast that I could barely understand the questions she was asking about my order. I am not exaggerating her speed of speech. She spewed out 5-6 types of cheeses for my burger in less than 1 second. So I asked for ketchup and mayo on my burger and the girl tells me that I would have to put on the condiments myself at the condiments counter. Really?!?! it's a "to-go" order. I would have to get my food, take the burger out of the wrapper and put on the mayo and ketchup myself, then wrap the burger back up again and leave. The burger was mediocre at best, I live about 5 minutes away from this location and by the time I got home to eat, the bun on the burger was so soggy from the grease, but the fries were pretty good. Overall experience was not good. I will not be coming back to this location.

Skip this place like the plague. First off the place is filthy, the tables are covered in dried crap from the previous diners. The tables were wobbly and not level either. Secondly, the burgers are horrible. The first time I went there the hamburger was awful. I couldnt finish it. It was dry, bland, fell apart and was inedible. I complained and they gave me a coupon for another one. Stupidly, I went back, and the second burger was just as bad. Lastly, for the price, you could get 2 burgers, 2 orders of fries, and 2 drinks from Five Guys which is infinitely better. I asked the cashier why the burgers were so expensive. He said "They at the Lamborghini of hamburgers." The reality is they were more like the Yugo of hamburgers. The fries were horrible. Soggy, bland, tasteless, gargbage. And then they charge you an insane amount of money to sprinkle a few garlic flakes on it and call them garlic fries. When I went back, to claim my free burger, the free coupon didnt even cover the cost of plain burger. I STILL had to shell out some money for the tasteless dreck. While I was waiting for them to cook my crappy burger, I realized half the people in line were redeeming these "were sorry are food sucks" coupons. The other half were complaining and the staff was handing out the coupons... ----------- It still amazes me this place is still in business. Granted, there arent as many cars there as there used to be. It just goes to show that people will buy crap if you call it a luxury and mark the price up insanely.

We've been to BGR several times now, and it's one of our new favorite burger places. The burgers are juicy and delicious. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I've never had one that was overcooked. The change in sizes of burger doesn't really bother me...to me it's a sign of a burger handcrafted with fresh meat. If you want pre-packaged burgers that are all the same, go to Foster's. Unfortunately, the sides are forgettable. Anyway, we've the classic burger and never been disappointed. We also very much enjoyed the turkey burger. On one visit I had the Greek which was different than your normal burger joint fare and quite tasty. If you don't like lamb, I wouldn't recommend it, but I enjoyed it very much. I will say that I am not a fan of their fries. They are forgettable. I've had better almost everywhere else. We've even tried the garlic parmesan version as well as the sweet potato fries...meh. I would love to see them start doing fresh cut fries. Their onion rings are HUGE, but very tasty. I think there are only five in a order, and you can really only eat two since they are pretty greasy. The soda machine is pretty cool, but kind of a pain when it's busy, especially if there is a short little kid trying to operate the machine...they can't reach. I noticed another review complaining about the size of the drinks. I don't have any issue with them only having one size...cuts down on costs and keeps people from wasting. I think more restaurants should do this, particularly the ones that offer self serve sodas. You can always go back for more, so what are you complaining about? Bottom line: I would recommend BGR for their awesome burgers, but stay away from the sides...they're nothing special.

Delicious Burgers, and I love the fries here. They serve them in a unique way that i havent seen at many places -- parmesan cheese fries, garlic fries, rosemary fries, etc. Delicious! The meat is high quality as well - you wont be disappointed. The only reason this is not 5 stars, is that the dining area is pretty small. But who really cares I guess when you are eating a bangin burger.

I live in the Reston Town Center, where there seems to be a zoning ordinance requiring an overrated, overpriced burger place every 150 feet... although a burger at Clyde's will always be pretty good, the other options are lousy,The Counter being the absolute worst. I don't hesitate to get in my car and drive to BGR in Sterling for their phenomenal burgers. The Cuban is my personal favorite - the perfect combination of pickle, mustard, cheese, a slab of juicy, roast pork and thin slices of delicate ham hits every component of a traditional and truly delicious Cuban sandwich. Put it all together on top of superior quality beef (cooked exactly the way you request it - imagine that!) and you will understand why it is worth the short trip out to Sterling. The Wellington is also a must-try - especially if you're a mushroom fan. YUM! Oh yeah, the fries!!!! Try the Parmesan and roasted garlic, you will be amazed at how well they compliment your delicious burger... nirvana. In fact, I promise BGR will set a new standard that all the burgers you ever eat will struggle to get anywhere close to. If you want average to pretty good, get a burger at Clyde's. If you want superior taste, quality and true burger artisanship, go to BGR.

I'm only adding this review because it seems some have given this place a bad review because they pretty much only serve burgers - I know, right? I know *I'd* expect to find sushi at a place called "The Burger Joint" ... Seriously, though, they make "burgers" - and really good ones at that. The beef they use here is really good - they say it's dry-aged, prime beef - and to me, it really makes a difference - I'd recommend avoiding a whole lot of toppings, order yourself a relatively simple burger, and just enjoy the taste of the (mildly seasoned) beef. They're thick, tasty, and cooked-to-order - pretty accurately, in my experience - med-rare is med-rare. I mean, there's a place in the world for burgers with those thin little patties, cooked well-done - 5 Guys, In 'N Out - those are good, and have their place - but if you were going to make the perfect burger on your grill at home, this is what you'd make, if you could find ground beef like this - which you probably can't. The other ingredients are usually top-notch - fresh (and good-quality) produce, good bacon, etc. The fries are usually very good - they're thick-cut and (probably) double-fried - sometimes they could stand another 30 seconds in the fryer, but as I say, they're usually very good, a meal in themselves. They also have sweet potato fries here, but that does nothing for me, so can't comment on how good/bad it might be. The only real downsides I've found here: When they first opened, they really struggled with consistency - one time great, next time terrible - but they seem to have resolved that (knock wood.) The bun - sometimes, they seem a bit, well "old" ... Tiny place - yeah, it's cramped inside, and honestly, I'd rather get the food to take-out and eat elsewhere. Some complain about the price - well, yeah, it's not cheap. OTOH, I find that, unless I'm starving, I can split a burger/fries, and be happy with that. So, yeah, it's not a full-service restaurant with 200 mediocre menu items, it's a burger joint, and a very good one at that. Edit: sorry, guys, had to take a star away - somewhere along the way, they changed their fries - perhaps frozen, perhaps cut differently, or perhaps not double-fried - anyway, they lost something in the transition. Still very good, but not as good ...

Overpriced laxative is the best way to describe the food. $16 for a burger, six onion rings, & a fountain coke. Save your time & money, go some place else.

I saw this place pop up, lines out the door, so I thought I'd give it a try. Ordered a turkey burger, a regular burger, 1 onion ring, 1 fries. $23 Not impress with any of it and it cost too much for the meal. A real burger joint should have hand cut fries and great onion rings. I might try it again, but I really like other places more...

Since I am writing the review I am going with 3 stars, but hubby would give it 4 stars. Food was good, but not "to die for" in my opinion. I guess I was just expecting "more". Here's my gripe: it's overpriced for what you get and honestly, we all thought 5 guys was better. Nice touch that you can get sweet potato fries here though. Went for lunch/had a $5.00 off coupon and bill was still in the mid $40 range for a kids meal, and 3 burgers. (One double, 2 legends - all were box sets which means drink/fries included, 1 hot dog kids meal with shake) Up charge for the cheese on the burgers. Up charge for the sweet potato fries. Our order was incorrect too which was a downer. Hubby ordered his "spice it up" and cashier screwed that up and put "mojo" so he didn't get what he wanted so we have to go back and see what's it like. (She rang it in the way it was delivered, so she either misunderstood him or didn't hear or something.) The Kids hot dog meal was large/filling so the kiddo was happy 'bout that. The coke freestyle machine is a nice touch, but the place is smaller than I thought it would be and with limited seating and we were bumped several times by people manuevering around to get refills and pick up their food. Shakes are 5 bucks..which seems a little high. We will go back at least once more, (still have coupons), but just think they are a bit overpriced for what you get. I did see the Greek burger on their menu but for $11.99 for JUST the burger, I think I would rather go get an actual gyro instead. Seriously...if I wanted to add fries and a fountain drink...we are talking $17ish for lunch for 1 person - that's nuts IMO, but like I said...we will go once more at least so hubby can get what he really wants to eat and I will update accordingly at that time.

This location just opened. The restaurant itself is pretty small and I'm not sure the setup is ideal for handling long lines of people. The first time we went, the line was out the door and didn't move very quickly, so we left. We tried again at an off-peak time on Sunday and the line, while still long, did move more quickly. The restaurant was packed, loud and a bit messy when we were there so we opted to carry out since we live in the area. We placed our order and after a short wait received our food. When we arrived home, we discovered that neither of our burgers had mojo sauce, even though we did request it on both. The hubby's burger was COMPLETELY wrong. It had none of the EXTRAS he asked for (tomatoes) and it contained things he specifically asked not to include (pickles and grilled onions). The portion sizes for the fries and rings was substantial, but there was nothing about the quality, taste or size of the burger that made it stand out from any other burger. In the end, the $30 we spent for lunch for burgers, fries and rings (sans beverages) hardly seemed worth it. Not a horrible experience, but hardly a great one. I think I'll give them a few months to work out the "new restaurant" glitches and then give them another try.

A great place for a hearty and fulfilling burger. The veggie burger had great texture. It was a bit burnt on the sides, but I let that one go. Sweet potato fries were just right. :) They gave a generous serving of the fries which is a huge plus in my book. Staff was attentive and friendly. Decor had a fun theme. Appreciated the hand sanitizer at the door. I will return when I'm looking for a fun and quick place to eat.

Our first visit. The staff were very friendly. Noticed prices were higher than I would expect for a burger place. We order a lamb burger, classic burger, fries with Parmesan cheese, onion rings and one rootbeer. Cost 31.96 for lunch. Food was made to order. The burgers were fried rather than flame broiled which I would have preferred. They came out rather greasy. The beef burger was okay. I didn't care for the lamb burger. Both came with a slice of those horrible Florida beefsteak tomatoes that are flavorless and a piece of lettuce. The lamb burger also had cucumbers and feta. For a price of about 4.50 we got four pieces of onion rings. Two of which were made with the outer skin of the onion which usually you throw away as it is really tough. Overpriced and blah! The fries were basically tasteless including the Parmesan cheese which was .49 extra. Overall, the meals was just not very good. We left much of it uneaten. Best thing going for this place is the friendly staff and it looks like it might be a decent place to eat outside in the warm weather.

A much more substantial and tasty burger than other places. I'll definitely go back. Oh yeah the fries are pretty great too. Not sure how you couldn't like this place.

The quantities were pretty large, as others have noted. There definitely seems to be an "impress you with a really tall burger" strategy going on. The kids had the sliders, which they liked and which came with plenty of fries. (Cheese on the kids' meals was free, but it's $1 extra on the adult burgers) My wife and my burgers were both pink- hers was on the mark for the medium she ordered, mine was a little too pink for a medium well. But it seems like no one agrees on what constitutes those definitions anyway, so I can't hold that against them. Overall the taste was good. They have one of those cool new soda dispensing machines that lets you pick your beverage and then choose from a variety of flavor additions (lime, vanilla, etc.) It was great, except the coke flavor was off. One order of fries was enough to feed 2, maybe 3 people if you're light eaters. The kids meals came with fries. Overall, I'd give this place a 3 stars for decent, but not outstanding. (I'd still rather eat at 5 guys.) Plenty of food, and a kind of neat vibe, but the adult meals felt a little pricey. I do hope the restaurant succeeds though- it would be great to have a different burger joint in the neighborhood. A couple of suggestions, if they read this: 1) The menu shows sauteed mushrooms as a topping on one of the specialty burgers. Why not make them an option to add to any burger? 2) Nearly $5 more for fries and a drink in addition to the cost of the burger is too much.

It was fine. I got the sliders which were a bit boring. They cooked my wife's burger medium well and it was spot on. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The shake was just ok. I think I would go to BRB in Reston before I came here for a burger fix.

I used to find this the most convenient gas station in my neighborhood and now it's the most convenient burger joint. Unfortunately, the gas station was better. My wife and I went in at 7pm on a Friday and the place was packed but surprisingly, no line. We each had a cheeseburger and fries and shared a drink. Ordering was simple enough but I was shocked that the total was $26. 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries and 1 drink. Incredible. I was further shocked as I watched the employees eating burgers at the grill. I should have said something, but I didn't. I imagine that is a health code violation? Disgusting, nonetheless. We received our food promptly and it was delicious. I have to give them credit; they make a good burger. That said, it was nothing fancy that I can't get at Five Guys for less. The fries were also not as good as Five Guys. Lastly, the store wasn't that clean. There was food and napkins all over the floor. I live three blocks away, but probably won't be going back any time soon. The price alone enough to keep me out.

Great lil burger joint, Manager really cares about the product, thanked me over and over for my repeat service as he remembered me from the night before. Foods great, were really spoiled in Northern VA with places to eat but for just burgers and fries, this is the place to go. So far the Cuban is my fav but looking forward to trying the Greek:):) Definitely one of our many staples. Would be 5 stars all the way but they say delivery when they only deliver because of take out taxi, in my opinion its kinda false advertising saying delivery on menu's when their not the ones delivering, at least put take out taxi/number on the menu. If the burgers and staff werent so great i woulda knocked it down a few starts for that but like i said, still great food and staff!!

I went there recently to try the burger on the National Cheeseburger Day ;) ... Ive heard a lot about this place and was maybe I was expecting a lot, but, I was really disappointed with the burger, I tried 'The Southwestern' which they mentioned was the spicy burger which I asked to be cooked on Medium, the salsa wasn't really upto the mark, nor was the meat, the best part was the bun and the garlic roasted fries were good. Not really impressed!

While the burger was good. 15 dollars for a meal with no service or atmosphere is a bit ridiculous in my book. I'd rather go to Jackson's in Reston and get a martini with my burger for that price. To each there own in the end I guess.

i really enjoyed this place. the staff was super friendly and all smiles. that right there was enough to earn a star. i ordered their turkey burger (i know i know) but i couldn't decide and i knew i could eat off everyone else's stuff if i really wanted to. the turkey burger was awesome and massive. seasoned really well and i love the super fresh lettuce and tomato slice. the fries were nothing special - but they were tonight because i was starving probably. i didn't like the limited seating. we finally managed to grab a table by the garage doors. i love i idea of converting the old gas station into a seating area but it was so drafty and cold. not fun! also, i've never seen such a rad fountain machine! super sleek but i don't like the fact that i need to use a touch screen (ew germs!) to get my drink before eating with my hands. i would definitely return here. its not the best burger i've ever had but it was pretty awesome. the friendly staff really made the visit more enjoyable.

Depends on who is on the grill on how your burger will be.

heard a lot about this place, looks fancy and like a grown up burger joint, but it was underwhelming at best, had better at cheesecake factory recently. ordered the basic burger with fries and soda. the cool new soda machine is nice and they have those buzzers that some places carry to notify you. the decor is snazzy. now to the food, ordered it medium it seemed well done and also had the works. the patty itself was thick, but something in the burger was bitter, the filling or choice of sauteed onions, in any event it wasnt that tasty or juicy, but it was failry easy to eat. the fries were average but a large quantity. they had all sorts of condiment bottles on the table, the only other plus. overall I wasnt impressed and will doubtfully return for their special burgers

I really wanted to like this place, but one bite I and my taste buds never quite took off. The fries looked amazing and had a great crunch, but were really salty and tasted as though the oil was slightly burnt, leaving a smoky taste in my mouth. My medium Burger (The Burger) I ordered (which is the least expensive one you can order and being a college student was my go-to) was perfectly cooked though! Medium perfection. However, the bun does the burger itself no favors. It became a soggy mess paired with an awkwardly sized lettuce leaf and squishy tomato slice. It began to fall apart two bites in and the cheese was all over the place. I don't know, all the flavors just kinda bumped into each other becoming a not-so-harmonious burger. It became a mushy mess that I found myself finishing because I paid so much for it. My total came to 12 dollars roughly- with no soda! I feel like it was all too pricey for an average burger. Maybe it was that it was after I waited a good 20 minutes from line to burger (And it wasn't so busy, though its nice that everything is made to order) that the burger I imagined during this time would meet my hungry expectations, but alas, not quite. I feel like it would be hard to leave someone in satisfied with such simple fresh ingredients. Who knows? Maybe I'll try again another time.

Based on a recommendation, I had lunch at BGR, going for a great veggie burger. It was ok, but the prices were high, particularly for a place without table service.

Two words: Micro soda. They only serve soda in a kids cup. They refuse to offer a larger cup, even though they charge $1.99 per soda. Their excuse is since they have a modern soda tap with a touch screen, they need to keep their costs down. Guess what, Noodles and Co, two blocks away, have the exact same touch screen soda machine and have all varieties of soda sizes. Their burgers are good most of the time, and the onion rings are great. The fries suck and the place is tiny. Go there at any high volume time and you will be fighting for a table. If they weren't so cheap about the sodas, it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's supposed to be a burger joint. You are far better off going to Fudruckers in Ashburn. There you get value for your money. BGR is a rip off.

Liked the setting, but the burgers were not worth the price. Good fries, but something a little off with the burger. Lunch "deal" of bacon cheeseburger, fries, and drink was $12 (cheese was ala cart?). Probably won't go back.

Southwestern burger was interesting to say the least. It was OK at best: ground beef mixed with spices and ground up toppings. The most disappointing part of the place is the small choice of burgers...not enough variety.

We stopped the by BGR to give it a hot since we've seen it a couple times in passing. I was able to try a few different types of their burgers and sides because the members of my party ordered different things. We had the kids sliders, a turkey burger and the southwest burger. I have to say the burgers were all very good. All of the burgers were a nice size, we're juicy and had good flavor. The turkey burger was one of the most flavorful I've had. The southwest burger had good flavor and great spicing as well. I have to say the sides were good, but nothing out of the ordinary EXCEPT for the asparagus "fries." BGR has a unique side in its offering of grilled and nicely flavored asparagus spears-definitely worth a try. The other really neat item I. The store was their Coke dispenser. It was a neat computerized machine with some additional cool flavoring options. Overall I think BGR is worth a visit. While the sides were just OK, the burgers were good enough for us to go back again.

Extremely expensive!!!! Completely overpriced for a burger!!! The burger and fries were good but not worth the price. My 11 year old got a bacon cheeseburger, fries and small drink and his bill was $15.73?!?!?! Our total bill for 2 adults and 2 kids was $57.98 and all we got were burgers, fries and a soda. I felt like we got ripped off.

I'm quite careful about nutrition these days, so that idea had to wait in the car for this particular meal. Brought my family of 5 to try this place out. We went on a Saturday night and it was moderately crowded but we got a table. Music was loud for us, and it was mostly 80's music (aimed at my age group, *sigh*.) Staff was super friendly and pretty hip for Sterling. I went basic and ordered straight cheeseburgers for everyone and a couple orders of fries. I tried some bacon on one burger and some garlic and rosemary on the fries. The sign says "cooked to order: rare - well done." I ordered medium rare and they warned me, "that's red all the way through." I joked that I'd believe that when I see it. Food was done in a reasonable amount of time. I noted that my fries didn't seem to have garlic or rosemary. He apologized and came back with a handful of fresh(!) rosemary leaves and a fistful of 30 or so cloves of roasted garlic and dropped it on the fries. Apology accepted. The fries themselves were good, but I'm not a giant fan of fries. The garlic was roasted to perfect sweetness. That, with the rosemary, salt and a little mayo, they were the best fries I've had since Spain. The burgers were large but not gross. They were simple and actually medium rare. The flavor of the beef was intensely "beefy." They must have put a good bit of thought into the cuts that go in the grinder because it wasn't just chuck in there. All in all, they were excellent burgers. The bacon was a nice treat: thick, chewy, smokey. Half the time I eat out, I think: I could have made this better at home. I would have had a hard time beating these burgers myself. I don't see myself going back every week (unless I started an Olympic training regimen) but I just might have to try the sweet potato fries and the grilled asparagus. They've got big garage doors (not actually leftover from the gas station that was at this location previously) that I imagine they will open up on the handful of nice days we get in the spring and fall. That might be nice. If you like delicious meals where you can count the ingredients on one hand, you'll like this place.

I thought the burgers were supposed to be good here, boy was i mistaken. Ordered the turkey and the Greek and both were the worst burgers I've ever tasted. They were borderline raw in the middle and lacked flavor. To top it off, they were pretty expensive for a sub-par burger.

My wife and I ordered and waited close to half and hour for our burgers. For the price we paid plus the wait, the burgers we just ok. Nothing special just ok. The sides were pretty good portions but you can't get away from the price and the overall taste of the food. Our order came up to $25 and change. Oh and I forgot to mention that my burger was free (bday coupon). I like me a burger now and them but can't see myself dropping that much $$$ for one here especially if the burgers are really nothing to write home about. A lot of alternatives in the area fir those prices and better food. Nice decor though.

Just had dinner there and what a terrible experience. First when placing the order I asked for 1 burger with Swiss and mushrooms and a Wellington burger. Girl at counter says they don't have a mushroom Swiss burger. I said you have Swiss on the menu and the Wellington comes with mushrooms so why not a ,mushroom Swiss? Girl says I could get a Wellington with Swiss, of course it's like 3$ more but I agreed told her to leave the other stuff off the and just Swiss @ mushroom. The look of utter cluelessness did not surprise me. Next I said make both medium. Upon getting burgers the mushroom swill lacked mushrooms and had blood oozing from the rare burger. I took it back and they replaced it but that is when I noticed the mushroom junk they used. Looked like someone opened a can of Campbells Mushroom soup and just dumped it into a pan. Grey gelatinous goop all over burger. My SO who had wanted the burger ended up scraping it off and eating the burger plain. To top it off $30 for the meal. Could have gone to Wendy's and gotten the same quality for half the cost. Never going back, they used to be great a year ago, guess success has gone to their heads.

I LOVE THIS PLACE, great food but a bit over priced. ALL of their food is made fresh and made in front of you. its a great place for teens and everyone else to hang out and eat really good burgers. This place is better then five guys. good service, and GREAT BURGERS !!!

In-n-Out will always be my favorite and while I enjoy Counter, BGR Shack (now closed), and Elevation, this place did not meet any of my expectations. I'd been meaning to try this place when a Groupon came up and I finally was able to. I'm not sure why casual burger joints are charging 10-12 bucks per person these days when it is not even a sit down. Fries were not good at all, they gave you alot however there was no seasoning or taste to these. Burger and bun was average, but for price I expect better. The only saving factor is their 'special sauce' but they barely give you any you have to go ask for more.

WOW this place is amazing! I've been here 4 or 5 times and I've either had "The Wellington" or "The Burger," both of which have been outsanding. "The Wellington" has got to be the best burger I've ever tasted. Blue cheese, truffles, and a medium rare patty! Yum! They also have one of those new soda machines with a touch screen. The only issue at this place is that, well, it used to be a gas station, so it's tiny and finding a seat on a Friday night can be near impossible.

The burger is ok. Sadly I just had the worst customer service from this place. The kid on the register was just way too rude, and to top that off the two other guys didnt seem to care. That's about as much as I'm willing to spend time writing about this joint.

We waited a few weeks to let the place get over the "new-restaurant jitters." We've been there three times now and our first visit was GREAT! The burgers were juicy and tasty and the onion rings were ridiculous. Sadly, they've messed up our orders the last two times. My wife and I received COMPLETELY different burgers than what we ordered and my daughter's burger was burnt to a crisp. I'm not sure what's going to be the norm there but I have a feeling that poor quality control is the name of the game.

Hard to believe, but when we got to the restaurant, they were out of burgers. How does this happen when it's all you do?
