C&L Restaurant serves freshly prepared Southern staples like fried chicken, pork chops and fried fish, along with breakfast available all day. The sides include macaroni & cheese, potato salad and turnip greens. Burgers, hot dogs and desserts are also available. The vibe is casual and the service is attentive. It feels like eating Sunday dinner at Grandma's house, which is a great thing. Prices are reasonable for what you get, which is good considering that they don't accept credit cards just yet. I was pleased overall with my lunch and would definitely recommend C&L Restaurant for Southern food fans. The location is a little off the beaten path if you're used to coming to downtown to only go to the Market area, but it's worth the trip.
