This place looks pretty sketchy from the outside, but it's nowhere near as bad as it might appear. There's no children's menu to speak of, so options for my three-year old son were limited. That said, the staff comped us an appetizer and some fried rice for my son, so it wasn't a big issue. The salsa served with their chips tasted like weak, watery marinara. I have nothing good to say about it, but the chips were warm. That's something. I ordered the picadera which had fried pork, yuca, plantains, and some vegetables. It was tasty, though the pork was overcooked, and the yuca and plantains were visibly indistinguishable from one another. The thickness of the batter made them taste pretty similar, too. Curiously, there are no diet soft drinks available. There's a full bar, so I guess they only keep sodas around as mixers, and diet isn't really good for that. I guess. I dunno. The servers were friendly. We were the only customers there, so this probably happened naturally. There's a pretty low-tech dance floor and a single billiards table. I'm no dancer, myself, but I can imagine the fun that five or six people might have listening to the all-Latin jukebox, gyrating under the blacklights. Fun fact -- the blacklights seem to be part of the regular lighting. They were on while we were seated for dinner. Anyway, the food is decent, and their bar's well-stocked. I can't speak for the club scene, but I would guess it's pretty good. The place is small; looks like it used to be somebody's house. I wouldn't recommend it for large groups, and definitely not for kids. Speaking Spanish is a plus, but not required, unless you really want to know what's happening on the TVs set to Univision.
