Pho 234 Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Fast, cheap and tasty. I've been craving southern style pho since I left DC 8 months ago. I'm partial to Pho 75 in Arlington, but that's a bit far from Manassas... We came here and got the lunch special that includes a bowl of pho (small or large), choice of a fresh or fried spring roll and a soft drink for $8.50 (large). They were really fast and the food was plentiful! Unless you're super hungry, I'd go with a small. I could seriously swim in my large bowl. The broth is pretty good, but not as flavorful as Pho 75. It just doesn't have as much star anise/beefiness as I like. I'd come here again. They had me at lunch special :)

Been to a few Pho restaurant's in DC Metro area and Pho 234 is amongst the best. The dining area is clean, the customer service is excellent and the atmosphere is pleasant and friendly. Pho had good flavor and doesn't skimp on ingredients.

I like the atmosphere and decor of this place. This could have just been my mistake, but I couldn't find a simple pho tai here with only the rare flank steak. My soup had other meats in it, like brisket or eye-round steak, I don't remember which. My husband's soup also had tripe in it, and I ate his leftovers, ick! However, the price was right, and the soup was flavorful. Maybe next time I'll just ask them for flank only.

I love this place and have been there many times. The big side is really too much, I have never finished. My brother likes the fried rice than the pho anyway.

Good Pho and I love the spring rolls. The large bowl is very large and I have enjoyed the Pho the three times that I went. Good broth and everything seems very fresh. The only complaint I have is the service. The waitress is there once to order and than never comes back, when we called her over a couple of times she seemed to have an attitude. I will go back but hope for better service every time I go!

  • Phuong O.

I had the large pho tai and bo vien which was great! Their large bowl is bigger than your normal large. Really filling and the soup is awesome! I also had the spring rolls which were a little greasy but good. Friendly place, i would definitly come back. They are a lot better than the two pho places in woodbridge.

Pho 234 continues to be the best Pho available in Manassas. We go there about once a week, the staff stop by and chat, and the food quality is consistent. They have recently updated their menu and now offer a child's bowl of real Pho, unlike the sketchy "kids" bowl of noodles or broth some other Pho places offer.

  • Patrick K.

Second time coming here. In town for training. Kinda skimpy on the noodles and broth kinda salty for my taste. Never had fresh "Vietnamese" rolls with pork so tried them and really like the texture but have nothing to compare to. Sure I'll be back since I'm here for the next two weeks though.

I really like this pho place. I am not sure why it took me so long to come here. It is perfect in the cool weather and when you are starting to feel under the weather especially with some Siracha hot sauce added to it . The large soup is very large and will fill you up. The service is a little slow though and I went when it wasn't too busy. That knocks off a star.

Ordered in from Pho 234 for my birthday this past weekend. Yay! Yummy breakfast pho. Everything arrived neatly wrapped, with as many aromatics as we could possibly need. They even wrap up brown sauce and Sriracha sauce for you so you should have enough. The meat was tender if, once again, a little fattier than I would have preferred. My only real complaint is that when you order out, you don't get enough broth - they give you only one of those large, round containers that restaurants send soup out in, and it's really not quite enough. Just the same, delicious and wonderful, and when I move at the end of the week, I will miss it. Anyone know of a place this good in Falls Church??

Pho 234 Is a cute little clean resturant with great food. They are always happy to customize orders. Last time I was there I was with my in-laws who are not the bravest eaters in the world, anything outside of standard american fare scares them. The owner of the resturant was great explaining the menu to them and helping my mother in-law pick something that would be to her taste. They loved it! My husband and I eat there at least once a month, we've never been let down.

This place is awesome! cheap food with great service. I would recommend going here with someone who is familiar with pho if you have never tried it before so they can help you order something thats to your liking, some of the stuff on the menu is a little out there but if you order the right dish for you its amazing. A large bowl is plenty to fill you up for hours and costs under $10. There is another pho place down the street that does not compare to Pho 234.

I have been there more than 20 times, the soup noodle is the best in this area. Fresh food, clear soup full of flavor. One of our family member doesn't like soup noodle, which is specialized here, the alternatives aren't as great. Do not miss their Vietnamese style icy coffee!

May I say Yum! I love Pho 234, They have great portion sizes, and definitely great lunch deals.

The pho here was decent. The flavor was there but I felt that it needed a bit more fish sauce. Overall though, it was pretty good. The service was extremely friendly. Our server recommended an appetizer that wasn't on the menu, which we ordered. My only complaint is that our special fried shrimp appetizer came out cold in the center, which was unfortunate. They did, however, correct their mistake and brought out a new order for us, which was quite tasty.

  • Tan T.

Friendly staff, Great service! The Pho lacked a little flavor but overall a good! A little pricey compared to others but not by much.

Probably the best pho around the Manassas area. I've had much better pho in Hawaii, so I have to rate it at 3 stars. But it's not bad here. A good lunch when you're in the area. Prices are very reasonable for such huge portions!

  • Fran F.

I've been here a few times. Their waitress has been pretty consistent at being pushy when she first approaches the table. She'll suggest a few appetizers and especially those that she says is good. She always seems to be in a rush when taking our order. But in regards to their pho, it's okay. I've definitely had better broth. Their chicken appetizer is alright. A bit on the salty side. So I would suggest you eat it with rice. The only reason I keep coming back is because this is the closest "best" pho I can find in this area.

We always go to Pho 234 for our pho fix! Food is great here. Sometimes the broth is warm, I like mine really hot, but besides that its the best place in Manassas for some pho!

I'm a big fan of Pho / Vietnamese dining. I was excited when this place opened and quickly became a regular. I love the marinated grilled meats with rice (I'm not big on vermecelli). They can be a little stingy with the accompanying fresh veggies but if you ask they will give you more. Also love the appetizer salad with shrimp and marinated shredded cabbage... it's delicious! I've had no bad experiences in dining here several times. Everyone who works here has been quite friendly.

After seeing all the great reviews for this place, I had to check it out and see how amazing it is for myself. Not being familiar with Manassas, I plugged the address into my GPS. Fail. My TomTom has never heard of Festival Lane. Plan B: google map it on my crackberry. Success!! And then I was off. Upon pulling into the plaza, tummy growling, I found it pretty easily. I walked in, had a seat and could not wait to eat. The waitress came over with a menu (which I did not even look at) and told me about some kind of bubble tea she made for the one woman sitting across the room. I said no thanks and ordered my pho ga and a coconut bubble tea like I would any of the other places I have been to. This confused her. I thought I had explained the coconut bubble tea situation enough that she understood, but realized this wasnt the case when a 2nd employee came over to see what I wanted. This one understood a little bit better and I explained to her how the other places I have been to usually make it. At this point, I was more then a little nervous and expecting the worse. My pho actually made it out before the bubble tea. It was a nice big, steaming bowl of goodness. I got out my spoon and tasted the broth. it was good. Not as seasoned as some I have had, but it had good flavor. I then proceeded to put in a few jalapenos and the sriracha (I like mine with some heat). Mixed everything up and then my bubble tea came. It wasn't what I am used to, but it was very good. Long story short, the soup was delicious - the noodles weren't over done, the chicken was moist and yummy, and there were plenty of both. I will definitely go back, even if it is out of the way :)

OMG! This pho sucks. As an Asian and someone who has eaten pho regularly for 14 years, this pho is so blech! We went to Pho 234 in Manassas this past weekend. Big mistake! First of all, the staff was super pushy. When was asked for a minute, the lady asked us to look over the appetizers and waited a minute. Like we needed to pick one right then and there. When I received the pho tai nam, I was so disappointed. The broth had a nutmug flavor that was overpowering. And the noodles--were just plain freaking sad. Clumped together and then they broke into a million tiny pieces. Obviously, they overcooked the noodles. In my 14 years of eating pho very regularly, I have never ever seen noodes that poor. For crying out loud, even when I had pho in Reno during my trip on Amtrak's California Zephyr, the pho noodles were so much better. Anyway, if you're Asian or you what good pho is, I suggest you eat it somewhere else.

We had been going to Pho 324 once a week since it opened its door. At first, they seemed to be very friendly to us. Then as time passes, we noticed that they became less and less welcoming to us especially the older sister. Sometimes, they would not even say hi to us. We have a 2 year old who loves to eat his noodles with his hands( because it's hard for him to grap the slippery noodles with the fork) so we make a mess on the table BUT we always clean up after him and NEVER leave the place without clearing our table. Not to mention, we always leave 20% extra for the tip. At first I thought that it could just me, but my husband started to notice that they became much less friendly to us. The older sister always grinned at our son each time she passed by and saw my son eating with his hands. The last few times we went there, they did not even say hi, just took our order, put the food on the table, didn't ask how the food was and gave us the bill. We are tired of being treated as if we were eating the food for free. We've made the decision to never eat there again. It's unfortunate that they lose loyal customers over silly things.

This is by far my favorite Pho restaurant in Northern VA. If it wasn't for the long drive to Manassas from Fairfax, you would find me here every week. I used to attend some classes at GMU's PW campus and would look for some great lunch spots to explore due to long free hours in between classes. So glad I came across this place. It is located in a strip mall near a potbelly's. Pho - broth is golden and clear, so beautiful and so delicious. At many pho places in NoVa, broth is watered down and lacks flavor, this one reminds me of my mom's homemade chicken noodle soup or beef noodle soup - clear but concentrated, rich, flavor. I could just drink the broth here and I would be happy. Decor - the restaurant is VERY clean and the lighting is dim which makes the atmosphere cozier especially on a rainy, gloomy day. I may have been lucky the whole time, but I don't remember seeing more than 3-4 tables filled during lunch time so it doesn't get too busy. Service - the lead waitress that would always serve me would recognize me often and know exactly what I wanted to order. She would also thoroughly clean all the tables and check up on different corners of the room which demonstrates how much she cares about the restaurant. I would definitely come back if I was in the Manassas area again or if they move their location closer to DC. I often try to persuade my friends and coworkers to make the 35-45 min drive from Fairfax or Tysons just to try this place. One of my friends already noted the difference in the broth and the flavors of the pho 234 compared to the pho restaurants back in Fairfax/Vienna area. Besides the Bullrun Winery, this would probably be the only other reason you would find me lurking in Manassas! Great find!

This is the #1 pho restaurant in the Manassas / Bristow / Gainesville area in my opinion. The food is delicious + generous! Even take out pho has generous portions. Their young coconut + Thai iced tea is very good, too. The owner / manager is so nice + always remembers my husband + me when he sees us.

BIG portions get BIG reviews. I had heard of this place at the suggestion of coworkers, raving about the soup and portion sizes, and that was affordable. Pho normally comes pretty cheap, but I had to try this out. The location is easy to miss off of Sudley Road, but I found it with some quick maneuvering. When I got inside, it was packed, so I had a feeling it would be good. I was seated immediately by a young and friendly server who appeared to be the owner's son. After a brief look over of the menu, I asked about the Pho 234 and the iced tea. He said both were really good. I ordered both. Small or large? I ordered the latter. Woof. Not even 10 minutes had passed and the meal arrived. The large is not a large, but a humongous. It came in a bowl that could've fit a small puppy! It came with cilantro, sprouts, other vegetables, plus 3 varieties of meat - brisket, Vietnamese meatball, and tripe, all in a clear broth. There were plenty of noodle in there and no skimping on the meat. The meatballs were decadent and flavorful. The brisket was while a bit fatty, very tender. I don't like tripe, and for those who don't know what it is, I won't explain it to you. That's what Wikipedia and the rest of the Internet are for. All in all, I was so pleased. I felt full and very happy with the final outcome. The iced tea though was a bit too heavy on the milk, so I didn't want to finish it all. Maybe I'll pass next time. But I won't pass on going back here for Pho!

Regular Pho for $8-$9?! NO THANK YOU! This place is OVERPRICED! Other pho places are not expensive like this. I mean the taste is good but paying that price for mostly noodles and soup ? I'm actually their regular but not anymore Bye bye!

Giving 5 stars because the super friendly man who served us was so sweet and helpful that he made my night! Here on a Friday night and was greeted warmly by the waitstaff and given prompt service. The cafe sua da here was pretty amazing, just the right balance of sweetness, richness, and thickness (I'm always in search for a nice viet iced coffee) Had a fried chicken wing appetizer that came with a side of sweet chili sauce. To be honest, I thought the pho was just okay and the meat in the pho dac biet (deluxe with everything) was a bit tough. Lots of noodles though, that's a plus. Our server offered nicely to help me put my leftover pho in a to go container. I'm sure that's not unusual but the way he asks just makes you go "awww". So sweet Will definitely return!

THE BEST!!! What a hidden gem. Whenever i feel home sick or i miss my mommas vietnamese cooking, i hit this spot up. I love that they have soo many menu options for a pho restaurant. Every single plate hits the spot and is probably the most authentic vietnamese restaurant in within a very long radius. The staff are super nice, I'm not sure if they are the owners but i adore them, just the most sweetest people you'll meet. Its within this small plaza on 234, nearly across the Manassas mall. I love love love every single thing here i just wish i can take the chef home with me!

I really wanted to like this place, but it's failed me. The last time I was here, my glass of water came out with a prominent mouth mark on the rim. Prominent. The pho ga broth has suddenly become bland and tasteless, and there's no rhyme or reason to ordering and paying. They keep a table covered in random utensils and fruit like it's their prep station, which makes me wonder how small or adequate the kitchen is. The cooler near the counter always has half empty pitchers of unidentifiable sludge and half cut food in it. Honestly, even if the food was great, the obviously dirty glass was enough to persuade me never to come back. Instead of raise hell I just paid for my food and left but I can't imagine the level of cleanliness in the kitchen if they can't keep track of clean dishes.

Foods good. Had the beef/chicken/rice and crispy egg roll combo. Chicken is a bit chewy but good. Beef was tender so that's good. The rice was nice and puffy ... Also good. Crispy egg roll was crispy and good. Ok bye.

Best Vietnamese in the area! I've been to so many, especially living in Annandale before. This is legit! Their Thai food is great too! Definitely try their veggie crispy rolls. Very different and delicious compared to your usual Vietnamese spring rolls. Their fresh limeade is awesome too. The decor and such is well kept and elegant.

Vietnamese girl from California's two most densely Vietnamese regions here. Verdict: not bad! I wasn't expecting much because it's hard to come by decent Vietnamese food from areas where there aren't any Viets, so this was a pleasant surprise. I'm rating this place with that in mind. Food came within 10 minutes of ordering during the late lunch hour. Great! Most of the menu was in English for some reason. A little nitpicky, but I know the dishes by my native language so I had to rely on the pictures to figure out what I wanted. We ordered the pho xe lua dac biet (large special pho) and the bun bo hue (Hue beef noodles). The soups came out piping hot! The BBH came with the small side dish of chili that gave it a decent heat - I tend to add tons so I wish they'd just had the small containers at the table. The meat was generous and tender. Pretty big portions, which was awesome. The pho was flavorful, if not a bit salty. Prices were reasonable, service was quick and friendly, and the joint was cleaner than the sticky-tabled places we're used to back home. Would go to again the next time I'm in the area!

I eat here atleast once a week if not more. Their food is well prepared and they do not skimp out on their portions. I eat at plenty of vietnamese restaurants and id say their portions are almost double that of normal places, great place.

Definitely got full from that $9 pho. The bowl was pretty big. I enjoyed it. Got the pho 234. Place was clean. Service was okay. No complaints. Was in the mood for pho while I was here on a business trip. Usually have pho once a month.

I've been coming here for take out a lot this winter and have been really impressed with the food. I'll usually get two orders of crispy rolls and two soups. The crispy rolls are consistently excellent. They have never been greasy or soggy. They are filled with pork and shrimp and are delicious when dipped in the fish sauce that comes with them. I've had a number of soups. My favorite is the Bun Bo Hue because it comes with a homemade pork and shrimp cake in lemongrass broth. It reminds me of a pate or something and tastes really great. I also enjoy the combination pho which comes with all sorts of meat cuts. Compared to other Pho restaurants, the meat portions are more generous.

Our first visit here on a cold spring day. The first thing we noticed was how clean the resturant looked and smelled. We were greeted with a warm "hello" then seated. The menu has a lot to offer and pictures of their dishes. The server was a friendly and kind man answering all of our questions and offered us some hot tea. We ordered the chicken soup and vegetable rolls. Everything came out quickly, fresh and hot. The vegetable rolls were amazing, will order again. The soup was perfect, large portions of chicken all flavored lightly but tasty. Great place, not to be bypassed. If you enjoy Pho you need to give this place a try. We will be back again, to try some of their other dishes. Also, when the server returned my my check to sign he also refilled my tea so I would have a fresh hot cup before I left!

Their broth is just OK. Nearby is a place with better broth, though the noodles here feels more fresh.

I am a regular and I LOVE it. It's hard to find a Pho place that will stay consistent. The large bowl would fill me up for a few hours. They have a great ratio of meat to noodles. I highly recommend their rice dishes too. If you do decide to give this place a shot, I might see you there!

    (4)
  • Timothy R.

Pho 234 is Pho-nomenal. (See what I did there?) I order the Pho, either the combo, or just chicken. The noodles are always great, and perfectly cooked. The service sometimes is a little slow, but I like to take time and enjoy being in the moment, so it doesn't bother me so much. The rolls were amazing, too. Probably hands down the best rolls Ive had in recent years. I'd definitely recommend the thai bubble tea, too. It has these little tapioca (I think) bubbles inside of it.

Many visits here, some better than others but I can say with full confidence the Pho today was the best of my four (consecutive) days of samplings from the local Pho shops. One more stop tomorrow to round out the week all the while fighting off a chest cold via Pho ...best medicine ever (self)prescribed!

I've been coming here since they first opened back in 2009 I believe or 2010... I always came here to eat pho whenever I had a hang over or wanted to show some peeps some good viet food and I never wrote them a review. Well now I am going to write them one. First off, good ass pho shop. I've been to some where the people are savages and they don't care if you find a hair in your food, a fly, mosquito, or some nasty shit. Those places just look at you funny and say "o i sarry!" in their thick accents, take the bowl back and just pull it out. I know this because I understand Vietnamese but I don't look like one lol. Some of these places were run by some straight Vikings... I'm not being racist though. I'm Vietnamese myself. Anyways, you don't find that stuff here. Instead you find some awesome ass Vietnamese food with authentic quality. I recommend people try some rice dishes and vermicelli ones as well. Don't be closed minded and get pho all the time. Get a real taste of Vietnam and try their "Bo Luc Lac." It literally means shaking beef. It's my favorite dish there. Sautéed steak cubes over a bed of rice with peppers and onions. Mmhmhm... Now I know not everyone likes beef or meat for whatever reason so instead try some Bun Bo Hue. It's another type of soup with a beef broth. Just try it. Or try the "Bum" dishes they got there. "Bum" means vermicelli btw. The cooks, I know some of you think that it's just Hispanics in the kitchen whipping up your food but it's not. At least not in the beginning. At first it was one of the ladies husband. I can't tell you which one though. It's classified for their favorite customers. But seriously, to add to the authenticity of the food. It is being cooked by a real live Vietnamese guy back there, a few Hispanic brothers and some old viet ladies. As far as prices go, not too bad at all. You get yourself and a date a good meal for under $25.00. Or be selfish and treat yourself for under $10.00. Up to you... The choice is yours. Staff, good service and attentive. FYI everyone thinks that one of the waiters is Gay but he's not. He has a wife and kids you idiots. Even if he was Gay who cares, the food is still good though am I right? Alright, well I could go on raving about this little gem of Manassas but I won't because I didn't get paid to write for them and two I'm about to get back to my meal. Hope this helps the skeptics.. so whenever you're in town stop by and hit this place up. Don't forget to leave a tip. They deserve it.

3.5 if I could. My daughter and I ate here while my wife was out of town. We started with crispy spring rolls and were not very impressed. The exterior was not quite as thin as a spring roll normally is. They were ok but somewhere between a spring roll and an eggroll and the dipping sauce is very bland. A very watered down and tasteless sweet and sour sauce. A pho place is really about the pho though, right? We both got large bowls with chicken breast as the protein. Once I added the basil leaves, bean sprouts, and diced up a couple of the hot peppers to add, I could not wait to dig in. Just a couple of squirts of sriracha hot sauce and I was in heaven. Other reviews have mentioned the richness of their vegetable broth and it is so true. On top of the firm noodles and juicy chicken breast the soup was great. Overall experience a 3.5 because what they tried to pass off as spring rolls just did not cut it but the soup was great.

Wanted to try pho for a long time, so after reading dozens of reviews from various social media outlets decided to give Pho 234 a try. Pho 234 had great reviews and less than 5 miles from my home- so why not! I ordered the shrimp rolls and the #18 sliced steak. While the rolls were just okay (didn't like the lettuce) the pho was great! Broth fully of flavor, huge portion (not a lot of steak), and just the right amount of spice. Overall a great meal for under $13

This is an update. I decided to come back here because the friend I get pho with really liked the veggie and tofu pho, I was a little hesitant at first because, again, the restaurant was a little crowded, but it was completely different from the first time we came. I was expecting the same meh service as last time but Pho 234 really surprised me. They made sure to top off our drinks whenever we were starting to get low (which was a lot considering the amount of sriacha sauce I had used) and it really made a difference in my experience there. The food was great (veggie egg rolls, chicken pho and the veggie and tofu pho). The veggie pho had so many veggies that my friend didn't even have enough room to add bean sprouts (not complaining at all). This place is out of my way (I live in Springfield) but I would definitely come back again after having this experience.

I've got to tell you. There really isn't a better place for Pho than Pho 234. I guarantee you that no other Vietnamese Noodle house has the kind of slow roasted filled with love homemade Vegetable broth that they have here. Even if you are not vegan, you will LOVE the Vegetable Pho! Also, all the vermacelli bowls are to die for. Everything is so fresh and so wel flavored you will end up dreaming about your meals and have to come back ag

Friendly service, clean restaurant, and more options than just pho are reasons to stop by Pho 234 if you happen to be in the area. I sampled the pad thai, certainly not something you'd think to get at a Vietnamese restaurant, but sometimes even I get bored and want to try something different. While the pad thai was not one of the best pad thais I'd ever had, the chef was quite generous with the shrimp, and the manager stopped by a few times to see how things were going. So they're not stingy with the protein and they care about their clientele. Those are good things if you ask me.

Very good authentic Vietnamese food. We ordered two bowls of pho tai chin and a dish of noodles and shrimp on sugarcane. Both were very good and delicious. The service just made the experience even better. The waiters were very attentive and know how to treat the customers well. Definitely will come back if we ever head back this way. Food-4/5 Service-5/5 Ambience-4/5

Went there last night (3/11/15) for the first time after hearing many good comments. Either I was hungry and it hit the spot (both true) or the comments were well deserved (again true). I ordered only one dish... #9 Beef Pho ... and let me tell you, it was satisfying, fresh, and good! The waiter was super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The beef was tender, lots of thin rice noodles, and the pho was tasty and not over salted. Fresh basil and bean sprouts to the side with half of a juicy lime. Yummmm. The best part was that my meal cost just under $10 and that was including a generous tip for my server. Yes, I WILL be back!

So I brought my brother in law here for lunch on a Friday afternoon, it was his first time trying pho and he loved it! He had the chicken and I had the beef. It was my first time eating pho from this place and I have to say it's been the best pho I've had! The service is great and prices are great as well. Medium bowl of pho for each and hot tea for $16 was awesome! I'll definitely go back.

Their dishes were served beautifully. I had the noodle soup and there was plenty of broth and a good amount of meat. The lime on the side was of generous size and very juicy. The vegetables were fresh. Thai bubble tea was deliciously sweet. The prices were decent too! We went when it wasn't busy so we got our food quick. Overall satisfied and will return again one day (this was my first visit).

I know that taste is subjective, but I feel like Pho 234 is one of the best pho restaurants in the northern VA. They actually give you a lot of meat in their soup! Which is rare with most pho restaurants. I was also equally impressed with their service too.. Its the small things like not having to ask the waiters/waitress for water. I will be coming back again!

IF this review was just based solely on food then I would give them 4, till I found a piece of hair in my food. They offered a new soup for the same charge. But cause we said we rather leave after losing our appetite they took the soup off. Truthfully, there broth and portion is really good. I wish i didn't have that mishap, but we would still go back. One of the be pho places i've at at.

I have been coming to Pho 234 for over 6 years. The pho is consistently amazing. The fried spring rolls are some of the best I have ever had. I also highly recommend the pad thai, very good as well. The staff are very friendly. When I come in, they already know what I want and how I like my soup. I know after 6 years they probably should but, it is a nice feeling. Highly recommended

Outstanding Pho. Tender meat, and they have interesting menu options that can put a spin on the traditional. For instance, I noticed a beef stew pho. I had the standard Pho: tripe, brisket and other meats and noodles. They gave me enough side bean sprouts to feed an army. The broth was clear and very rich. Seemed to be less a beef broth and more of a vegetable or chicken--maybe the menu explained their recipe but I missed it. In any case, it was very good. The lunch special gives you a big--and I mean HUGE-- bowl of soup, a spring roll and a can of soda for $10. Great value. I'm really glad I stumbled into Pho 234.

I rarely write reviews but, Wow. I got take out from here. I ordered the Pho 234 (it was #1 on the menu). It was phenomenal. And I cannot believe how much food I got. It was loaded with meat, noodles, and veggies. I highly recommend. Like I said, I got take out so can't comment on the in-restaurant service but takeout was quick and easy.

One of my favorite places to eat. The grilled pork, chicken salad, and fresh spring rolls are my go to. Service is always great. They get you in and out. Very clean. I highly recommend.

For some reason, I went YEARS without a bowl of pho ... then all of a sudden, I have it two nights in a row. I'm back, baby! And I'll keep coming back, because Pho 234 has a menu that offers more than just pho, and it passed the wife's seal of approval as well. The wife were discussing what to have for dinner, and I gave her two options - sushi or Vietnamese. Much to my surprise, she chose the latter, stating that she wanted something warm. I had scanned Pho 234's menu online and saw they offered plenty of non-soup noodle and rice dishes that would please the wife while I got my pho on. The large pho here is a very generous portion. Meat quality was nice. I didn't see my usual combination of eye round and meatballs on the menu, so I ordered a side order of meatballs, which was also very ample and tasty. My one complaint - no fish sauce, only hoisin and Rooster sauce. My wife ordered the seafood Lo Mein and enjoyed it. She noted the difference between this Lo Mein and what she would get at the neighborhood Chinese joint and liked the change of pace. And she liked the summer rolls as well. They are pretty standard, but the peanut sauce is nice. Another nice plus - she ordered a limeade type of drink and not only did they give her one for the restaurant but a second in a to go cup, even though we didn't ask for it. It was a nice drink, not overly tart, but not sweet. Good stuff. I'm glad I've gotten the wife to a pho restaurant that has things that she can order, and that she likes. I will no longer find myself going years pho-less ... Pho 234 is now part of our M-town dinner rotation.

Service is great, but was seen as a gringo. They gave me a 2 min tutorial on pho and other dishes and suggested I get the fried rice! Lol, like I accidentally walked in here thinking is was Chinese take out. They would not let me order the bun Bo hue until I sampled the broth and insisted I need a fork! Overall though great food and service. The best Vietnamese joint in the DMV.

Perfect vegetarian Pho. An excellent variety and amount of veggies, and a great balance of veggies and noodles. I didn't feel that I was eating a bowl of noodles with a few veggies sprinkled on top. My husband had eye round steak and lean brisket Pho and loved it. The staff was pretty nice as well. Great place. Great experience. Great food.

Probably one of the best if not best pho place in the area. I had vermicelli and it was pretty darn good. Also the waiter and people seemed very nice as well. Just one thing that caused it to lose two stars in my book. My friend ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp and she was Muslim so she doesn't eat meat that isn't halal. She started eating it and found beef on the bottom. The server said it was because the chef was using the same pan as another order. Personally that made me lose my appetite because I don't eat meat and it made me worry what was cooked with mine

Great Pho and great customer service. I called 10 minutes after they closed for a carry out and they said no problem come on in. I walked in while they were cleaning and everyone was smiling and said hello as if they were happy to have my business. Will definitely return.

There are a lot of great Vietnamese places in DC and Northern Virginia, but out in the Manassas area, this is the spot for great pho. On one occasion, we went to the nearby Pho Gourmet instead, and it was quite a contrast in quality. Don't make the same mistake: Pho 234 is the way to go. Most of suburban NOVA's strip mall pho joints leave atmosphere to be desired, and this restaurant also feels more like a lunch spot than a place for a cozy dinner. That said, we've grabbed a booth in the back corner and managed to have a quiet dinner for two. The service here is always speedy, but dinner service does not feel rushed, and has been very warm and friendly in our experience. Usually I get the #13 pho (brisket and flanks), and while I admit that I'm not the kind of foodie who pretends to lust for tripe and tendon, I do love some meat-filled pho. The last time I was here, however, I somehow turned down the opportunity for myriad meats in favor of the vegetarian pho. It was incredibly delicious, and the fresh vegetables, sprouts, cubed tofu, and delicious broth left me feeling like I had done something accidentally healthy. Last time we were here, my boyfriend tried the bo luc lac (cube steak), and it was divinely tender and beautifully spiced. We also started with some tofu spring rolls, which were bursting with fresh vegetables and served as a great starter. My only complaint about Pho 234 is that the garden of condiments varies in quality. One day, you might have the freshest peppers, basil, sprouts, and lime wedges; the next day, your side plate might be slightly wilted and defeated. I think the quality might decline over the course of the day, perhaps because prep is occurring only in the morning. Just a theory but, if I'm right, an afternoon prep session might be the only tweak this spot needs.

This is by far some of the best Pho in the area. I will disagree about the review that said the taste was strong. It was some of the lightest, delicate broth I've ever had, but, FULL of flavor. I got the #4 & it was amazing such a variety of textures & flavors. My only complaint was no fish sauce on the table but really, it wasn't needed. Staff was very attentive & friendly, the place was clean, & service was fast. The large bowl left me full for most of the day. This round-eye will be going back & often! In fact I am craving a bowl for breakfast today. *sigh*

Whenever I feel the need for pho I always come here. Food is great and staff is always lovely. Most places I eat pho at I always have to load it up with sauce due to lack of taste, but this place I only add siracha and I'm good to go. Other dishes besides pho are also excellent so give them a try! Also their boba smoothies are delicious!

I ordered bbq summer roll, ice coffee, and poke chop rice with soup on the side. I was sit quickly after walk in the place. They offer large selection of food, so I was so look forward to this meal. My eye bow start to raise here, summer roll, I like the bbq pork inside but the plate has small amount of water in there. Fine, I understand they need soak the skin in the water, but the inner layer of the summer role skin is crispy and dry. ....didn't finish it. Poke chop rice, the presentation is ugly. Yes I mean ugly. I always impressed by Vietnamese place's fry egg. How they are always nicely done. Egg white suppose to be white not black like I got from this place. Pork chop is juicy , but over seasoned. I think they were soak in fish source for too long. They are unusually salty and "tasty". The meat need to be trimmed. I understand fat make everything tasty, but it is unpleasant experience when your entire bite a big chunk of fat. Didn't't finish it either. I do like their ice coffee though. I don't think I will come back again.

Our family that came to visit for Thanksgiving yelped this place and said it looked amazing so we decided to try it. As we sat down we immediately ordered because we were very hungry so we started with the fried calamari and two orders of crispy rolls. They were amazing! So far so good...then we ordered our main courses; only issue we had was the language barrier...waitress had to come back a few times to verify. We got the food...three orders of chicken Pho, two orders of shrimps fried rice and other pho. I had the chicken pad thai. Yes I ordered a Thai dish at a Vietnamese place, what was i thinking??? It was okay to say the least, considering. My family loved their Pho! Everyone is full and overall the experience was pretty good.

The best Vietnamese everrrrr! They service is really nice and their foods are perfect. I love their number 3 and the egg rolls. They have the best fish sauce ever. And I always ask for extra they never charge me for that and if u have a chance u should try the crispy egg noodle with the seafood. So delicious!

This place is great. Vegetarian pho is full of vegetables and fried tofu and almost always spilling over because they give you so much. 4 stars because the service can be hit or miss. Doesn't matter though, the pho is too good.

Great place for Vietnamese food! The soup for the pho was delicious and a small bowl is enough to fill you up! The rice dishes were also very delicious, the pork and steak were very tasty, and I cannot get enough of them. We've also had the fried chicken wings as appetizer a few times. They were nothing fancy, but the chicken were always meaty, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The wait staff were always very friendly, even though some of them may not speak fluent English. We love coming here!

Well, I am totally bummed that I have to write this review. Ever since they opened, Pho 234 has been one of my favorite Pho places - specifically because of their amazingly rich and delicious Pho Ga chicken broth. A couple of weeks ago - my fellow Pho addict and friend Seab H. and I convened once again for another Pho Ga outing. We were slurping our way through our bowls - when suddenly Seab asks me if the broth seems different. I agreed that it was much different and that I was not much liking it. So we called Loan over - she is the owner and manager of Pho 234. We asked her what they did to the broth. She told us they changed it to make it lighter. We told her in no uncertain terms that the new broth was very average and ordinary - and quite frankly - not very good compared to the original broth. She told us to give her a week and she would change it back. Well, I gave them more than a week to be fair. I went back today. Instead of taking a seat and waiting for a menu, I went to the counter to ask if Loan was in. She was not. So I asked the other two employees, who I might add have always been very nice - what the status was regarding the Pho Ga broth. They told me it's the new broth and they have no plans to revert back to the original broth. Wow. Just Wow. I'd love to know just who it is that thinks this new chicken broth is so much better than the original. Because IT'S NOT! It's rare to find a Vietnamese joint that made such great Pho Ga chicken broth - and now they've tossed that away in favor of something that is so very ordinary and forgettable. Pho 234 joins the ranks of another Northern Virginia Pho joint that used to make amazing Pho Ga broth - but has since downgraded it to very ordinary broth - Pho Bistro (Centreville and Ashburn). Loan, if you are listening, you have lost one of your most dedicated customers. Unless you decide to bring back the original Pho Ga broth, I will never return. Yelpers - look elsewhere for your Pho Ga fix - Pho 234 is no longer worthy of your attention.

This place is great the service is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. I also ways get the combination with meatball Pho (very tasty and hearty broth) and have then omit the tripe and tendon. They have a premixed Siracha and Hoison sauce which is fabulous. My boyfriend typically gets the Pork Vermicelli with Crispy Roll. The flavor is great and pork is just the right amount of cripsy outside and tender inside. Definitely worth a visit. The decoration is a bit lacking hence minus one star but the food makes up for it. Also when ordered to go it is packaged magnificently and easy to assemble. Make sure you have a large bowl on hand at home.

They are simply the best. We frequented at least once a week. The staff knew us to the point that we didn't have to order. They confirmed our "usual" and it was out quickly. Not many places do that these days. The owners and staff are friendly. Just all around great people, great food, great times. Simply the best.

The Vietnamese ran their French colonizers out, but not before their cuisine was influenced in a very positive way. This fare is best described as fresh, healthful, and absolutely delicious. Don't be a cretin, tempt yourself to this wonderful yummy nutritious food!

My husband and I are regulars here and we love the food its so good the staff is very friendly and don't be afraid to ask them what to try because the are great at telling you what's good depending on what you are in the mood for I love the beef stew the best for me but I have tried other dishes and they are amazing and flavorful I'm glad we have a good pho place near home. After a long work day we are confident in having dinner here and even if its cold we get one of their delicious smoothy I've tried the mango, avocado and coconut smoothies and are good! Try out this place very recommended

This restaurant, what a find. I was introduced to it from a friend and no joke, I think this is the best pho restaurant in all of NOVA. I've been to Pho Sate, Pho Hai Duong, and all the other big names out there and this place is still my favorite. They give a VERY generous portion size for the price and the soup is very clean. I always get pho tai and meat is always soft and tender when it comes out. The summer rolls are good too-!! The service is great and the staff are very friendly.

This place is great! My wife and I eat here on a regular. And my fave... Is the drunken noodle beef, this is great I've tried just about everything and I have yet to be disappointed. Just had Pho 234 for take out. Chose #15 beef noodle pho. It was packed so well for take out that my broth was still very hot. A lot of care was taken to pack all of the items to make it very easy for me to assemble my pho at home. All components were super fresh and it tasted as good as dining in! Beef for the pho was jammed with flavor, I was actually surprised. Broth was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Service is a little scattered, but the food is absolutely delicious and authentic. We had the vegetarian summer rolls (with tofu), chicken pho (pho ga), and the clear seafood noodle soup with sliced roast pork. Everything was fresh and delicious. Finished the meal with taro bubble tea, which was one of the best I've ever had - and I drink a lot of this stuff. Highly recommend.

I come here often because it's definitely worth 5 stars, in my opinion. Service is quick and friendly. Plenty of dining space (although lately it's been a close call, seems this place is getting more popular) but they always manage to get me seated. I like that there's so many option on the menu, though I tend to get the same things Everytime (the combo pho #1, or the bo bun hue #3) and it's always delicious. I appreciated how quickly the food comes out as well. So I'm never there more than an hour, and if I am it's only because I'm trying to actually finish the entire bowl of pho (which never happens as their huge lol). Lastly the price- it's less than $10 and you're literally stuffed Everytime. 5 star worthy right there.

  • La Güera Tamalera S.

I love this place, I've been coming here for at least 5 years and I've never had an issue with the food or the service. My favorite thing to eat is the pho with brisket, tendon, and flank, but I have tried other cuts of meat, they've all been tasty and the seafood soup is pretty good too. I like that they give you enough sprouts and herbs on the side, not like some places where they give you exactly one basil leaf :). Also, the prices seem very fair to me, I don't remember ever spending more than 40 for two people to dine. If you like pho this is a very good option.

Once upon a time I tried pho. Then I had to have pho very frequently. I've been eating here for a few years now and it's high time I review it. For me, it's the best yet. The consistency of everything they do is impressive. Whenever I've been, It's always clean. The servers are always friendly and attentive but not overbearing. The food comes out quickly and it's always delicious! The weekday lunch special is a bargain: a small bowl, a fried or fresh roll & a soda. On weekends I just go all out and order the fried roll appetizer & a #1 pho, which has every kind of beef cut & offal there is. I'm a purist about the broth and here it's so good, I don't even think about gunking it up with hoisin & sriracha. I just squirt a little on the meat. If you go & order the pho, try the sate sauce. You have to ask for it. It's a paste made mostly of dried chilis, but slow cooked & intriguing. Apparently they only use it in the bo bun hue but it's awesome as a third additive alongside the table sauces. A new pho place just opened just across from them, so it's possible Pho 234 has raised the standards even higher. I've been twice in the past two weeks and the soup has been absolutely loaded with meat. Keep it up Pho 234!

Pho 234's #7 and Thai bubble tea were the perfect pick-me-up after a long day. The friendly staff and quick service were the cherry on top of the warm, delicious bowl of pho. The portions they serve are also huge!!! I only ordered a small bowl, but I could have easily dunked my whole face in there.. My friend ordered the large bowl, and let me just say that it looked like he had just entered a pho-eating contest. He lost.

after a night of partying i stayed over at my friend's place in manassas and we all ventured out for pho...granted I know we are in the boonies so my expectations were low, but that is no excuse! The iced coffee was great, so the additional star, but the summer rolls i ordered were so sparse in shrimp it felt like i was eating just vermicelli noodles and lettuce wrapped up. I asked for my pho tai with RAW meat on top and out comes my soup with the meat all cooked inside AND the meat was chewy and low quality. Also, the noodles were clumpy and the soup was not memorable. I doubt i will be back since I'm rarely in manassas, but was very disappointed with this place. it was nice they took card though!

This is a nice pho place for a rainy day like today. Inside was clean, service was friendly, and the pho was piping hot. The broth was a little light for my preference, but it was tasty. I ordered a #8 (eye round, flank, and tendon) and I have to say, that flank is where its at!! Plenty of meat in the bowl and the noodles were nicely distributed throughout the broth. I love that they go overboard on the onions! My chief complaint resides with the plate of aromatics that accompanied the pho. Only two or three leaves of basil were even usable, with the rest being scant and what was there was spotted with brown and horribly wilted. The bean sprouts were sparse and really skinny and kind of sickly looking. Hard to screw up jalapeños or lime, so that was fine. All in all, if I am ever back in Manassas, I wouldn't hesitate to come back, but more likely I'd try another place to see if it gets better. If you choose to get your pho on at 234, I highly recommend the flank... super tender and delicious!

I would recommend Pho Sapa by the Super Target. Their broth is excellent and the service is much much better. Here the broth was very bland. The service sucked, especially considering there were only two more tables there at the time. The calamari was very good though. They should put some jalapenos in there. I would go back just for that. And what's up with the pay at counter service? Is it that much harder to serve the bill at the tables? No one ever came back to check on me. I was planning to take some calamari home but I had no one to ask for a takeout box from. So I just ate them all.

I had the drunken noodles with beef as well as the fried egg rolls. Both were very delicious! The man who first greeted me was super friendly which you don't usually run into at a Vietnamese restaurant. I will definitely be returning in the future.

Love this place! Had never had pho until this year and I am hooked! The service was great and the portions are awesome and parking is freaking easy. Ive brought my sisters and mom here and they love it also. Hope to introduce more people to it! Will definitely be back. XD

My fiancé have been here three times already and the pho has always been great. As the other reviewer said, the large is larger than most pho joints so be prepared for a big bowl. The boba tea here is good too, though it could use more tapioca pearls. This place beats Pho Gourmet hands down, which is just down the street. For a great bowl of pho, go to Pho 234. The service may be a bit slow but the food doesn't disappoint.

Still exploring for a nice Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Ordered Crispy chicken wings, they were just okay. I've tried much better and crispier chicken wings before. 6 pieces of wings were suppose to be on the plate, but we only got 5 wings and a big huge fired ginger!!!! I talked to the staff, and this is what he said without a simple apology, "Oh, you have a fried ginger because we marinated the chicken wings with it." HELLO, I guess I ordered fired chicken wings and not fried ginger!!! If you are a fan of Pho or even tried Pho, you'll know that there are a whole bunch of selections on what cut/ part of beef you get in your bowl. Obviously, I didn't get what I ordered. I decided to keep it to myself because I am not quite happy with the way that the staff handling the fired ginger issue. Just want to finish my dinner and get my check. Most important information: I saw the staff picking his nose!!! YUCKKKKKKK Too much surprises for me. I don't think I am going to visit again.

I'm an avid Pho eater and this place is probably in my top 3 favorites. The medium pho bowl is big and the large pho bowl is HUGE. They give you plenty of meats and rice noodles. Hands down the best in Manassas.

This was my first time having Pho. Pho 234 is a nice, clean little restaurant with a very friendly staff. They didn't hesitate to change our order from "here" to "to-go" and even apologized that we couldn't stay to eat. The Beau ordered the cubed Vietnamese steak that smelled DELISH and came with all kinds of grilled peppers and onions. It looked SO appetizing, though I didn't try any as we had to get it to go. I had vegetarian pho to go with fried tofu. The broth was still piping hot by the time I got home, 25 minutes later. I added the brown sauce which I assumed to be a mix of srichacha (or however you spell that) and hoison... the bean sprouts and the fried tofu. I wished the broth had been more salty though. Also, I got a little tired of eating the fried tofu after a while. Unfortunately, 2 hours later and I'm starving. I'll definitely eat pho again... but it's not something I can see myself craving.

Despite the fact that we came in 15 mins before closing, and we stayed there more than we should, they were still very accommodating and friendly and kept insisting to take our time. They didn't make us feel like we were bothering them at all, even though I know for a fact that we were already an intrusion to their schedules. Not to mention that the food is bangin'! Best pho in town and dishes are perfecto!

I came here on a weeknight with my boyfriend and the place was somewhat busy. We were greeted immediately. I ordered bun bo hue and my boyfriend ordered pho. The bun bo hue came in a large bowl with endless cuts of meats and noodles. The broth was not as spicy, but the soup came with a side cup of sate to add more heat to the broth. The meats were tender and cut in rather large chunks. I tried my boyfriend's pho and it was quite flavorful prior to adding the hoisin and sriracha. His bowl also had plenty of noodles and meat. I also ordered avocado boba tea, which was thick and tasted fresh (not powdery at all!). However, it didn't have much boba. I ended up asking for more because the boba disappeared long before I even finished half the drink. The server gave me extra boba and was very polite about it. The service here was amazing. The servers were patient and kind! Overall: Great customer service here! Pricing was decent for what you get. Decor was lovely.

This place reminded me of one of the pho place back in VA Beach area call "Pho 50" that closed down but I'm really glad that I found Pho 234 when I moved. The food comes out lightning speed. the fresh garden roll is a MUST! thinking about it make my mouth water. As for pho itself, they give you tons of meat and noodle unlike other places all you see is the juice. The not so good thing about it is that the server don't ever come to check on you, see if your need more drink or how the food taste. other than that i always have good experiences when i go there.

I went here mid week for a quick lunch with a friend. The place was nearly empty excluding ~4 other parties. The lady who took our order was VERY rude and unpleasant. She rushed us to get our orders and made it seem like our patronage was a big inconvenience. I pointed out to my friend that there were lunch specials. He simply turned the menu over to look for them when Ms. Ho Chi Minh literally grabbed the menu out of his hand, flipped the menu to the specials, and aggressively put the menu on the table pointing at the page saying, "HERE!" I haven't had a hostile dining experience in awhile. I have eaten at a lot of pho places. I order expediently and try to be a pleasant customer so that I have a reason to come back. I'm also Vietnamese. So I've eaten at a lot of Vietnamese restaurants, this experience was one of a kind. I had the Bun Bo Hue which was decent, I give it a 7/10. They had the appropriate vegetables out for my Bun Bo Hue such as rau ram (thai basil) cabbage. But screw you rude pho restaurant. Prices weren't good compared to plenty of other pho places in Falls Church.

Because I know what good Pho is this place disapointed despite having great reviews. The broth was normal, or below average I thought and so did my wife. What gives it a 1 star though is that my wife said her spoon was dirty so we traded.. I said " my hot soup will clean it!" LOL but after leaving she said she saw the server lady sneeze in her hand then pick up a handful forks immediately. She and a man were in the booth in back of me prepping. My wife got front row viewing of this... To most Manassas prepay this place would good, but still can't find a Pho spot in NoVA yet... Will not ever come back here...

This is my regular lunch Pho spot. They have great Pho Lunch specials-1 can of soda, 1 roll (fried or fresh), 1 bowl of Pho. I usually order the lunch special #7 or #10. #7 has tendons in it, and it's hit or miss on the flavor because it's not always sliced well so it has an odd taste sometimes. There is one waitress who is not so friendly, but the rest of the wait staff is very nice. I personally find their beef broth to be one of the best in the NOVA area.

Good food, quick service. I usually go for the #9 lunch special w/ the shrimp roll. It's always fresh & filling. If you're looking for Pho in Manassas I recommend this place.

I absolutely love this place! I usually get the 234 Pho - meat balls, tripe, tendon, brisket in a wonderfully tasty broth - and it has always been fresh & delicious - the ultimate comfort food. When I haven't had it for a while, I have been known to crave it! The fresh shrimp rolls are wonderful. I've never been disappointed with anything on the menu and the service has always been superb.

This is the first place I have been to solely using Yelp. Was driving with my family and wanted to try something different. I remembered I had Yelp on my iPhone, so I pulled it up, looked at the top rated places near us and... Pho 234 came up. We were pleasantly surprised. The Pho soup was great and the service was top notch. We will be going back to Pho 234 on our next trip threw Manassass.

This place was not bad. I had the pho ga (chicken) and ordered some veggie spring rolls. The pho broth and chicken was good. It didn't stand out too much like Wow this Pho is really good, but for the Centreville/Manassas area it's not bad. The spring rolls were too oily, not a fan and they had like sweet potato or some type of potato mashed up in it -- strange. I also had che suong sa hat luu (dessert drink) and I enjoyed it.

So I had my first Pho experience. My husband and I decided to try here. I have never had Pho before. It was okay. My husband probably liked it more than I did. He has had Pho many times and said he would eat it again if he didn't feel like driving farther to go to a Pho restaurant. I on the other hand don't see me wanting to go back unless he (or someone else I was hanging out with) wanted to go. Not much of a kids menu. Ordered a kids Pho soup for my 2 year old son which was just a mess in itself.

I go to Pho 234 in Manassas, Va. at least 3 times a month, the waiters (men and women) are just sooo polite and quick. The seating is always fast (except on a snowy day when there is a little wait...less than 5 minutes, because everyone is freezing and want some hot PHO). The tables are clean, the atmosphere is open with good music and a TV. The menu is superb and every time I go there I get my HOT, steamy pho delivered to my table within 5-minutes!!!!!!!!!!! Just the best place to have PHO!

I've been coming to Pho 234 for about a year now. Their chicken pho soup is the BEST! The broth is really clean and does not taste like too much salt has been added. Their veggies and spring rolls are always fresh and tasty and most importantly, their service is always friendly and efficient.

My husband and I tried Pho 234 over Labor Day weekend. We went for dinner on Saturday evening, and went back for lunch on Sunday. It is definitely our new favorite! The first thing we were struck by was the efficient service. We were very promptly seated and our drink orders were taken right away. I've seen some of the other posts about the service being abrupt or rude, but I took it as the servers/owners wanting to accommodate us as quickly and efficiently as possible. I believe that perhaps what comes off as rushing customers is actually a profound desire to serve the customer as fast as possible. I almost wanted to tell them to relax, because they were doing a great job and we felt very well cared for. The first night we ordered a little of all of our favorites, so we could get a real feel for if we like the food. We weren't disappointed. We ordered the calamari and the crispy rolls to start. The crispy rolls were well crafted, very crispy, and seasoned beautifully. The filling was delicious and the sauce it is served with (the fish sauce/carrots and radish stuff I can't recall the name of, so please pardon me) is drinkable!! Not only did I dunk my crispy roll into it so much that it nearly ruined all the crispy (and it is really crispy, so that's hard to do!), but I dipped my calamari in it as well. The calamari came with a sweet chili sauce and was tossed with a mixture of herbs and vegetables--basil, red peppers, green peppers, and onions, I believe. I can't recall exactly, because I was in bliss munching away on the calamari. They were tender and fresh and were just on the right side of not quite chewy--a perfect texture in my book. My husband and I nearly took each other's arm off eating them. The calamari is breaded with what I believe is cornstarch, so there is great crunch and texture. For our entree, we each ordered a large bowl of pho. Without a doubt, we could have ordered a small bowl and still would have over eaten. :) The large is an incredibly generous portion. The best part, though, and something hard to find this far from Falls Church, is that the bowls are the taller persuasion, so there's a lot less splashing all over your shirt. Not that I mind, honestly...I can wreck a bowl of pho without a care for what I look like afterwards. But, it is nice to have that little detail taken care of. The large bowl had to have had at least a quart+ of broth, a very ample serving of noodles, and lots of protein. I got the eye round and tendon--the eye round is really yummy and has a great tender but toothsome texture and the tendon was perfect. It had just the right melty chewy texture and great flavor. My husband had the mixed seafood pho, which had bay scallops, tail on shrimp, calamari, and VERY GOOD fish balls. I've eaten a lot of fish balls, but they've never been a huge priority for me. However, I was sitting across from my husband hoarding his, coveting them bad. The broth was very, very light...which I actually like. I recognize the beauty in a hearty bowl of pho, and quite enjoy it. But sometimes, I really like the subtlety and the lightness of a weaker broth. It is well seasoned and blends nicely with the proteins, so I have no problem with it. I wouldn't mind if they changed it to a heavier version, but I'm quite satisfied with the current rendition. The sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime wedges were all fresh and ample. The first night we were there, the owner offered my husband a small plate of what I believe was a spicy chili paste (not sure if sambal or something else) to add to his soup, if he wanted. I rarely go for something that spicy, but it was great in the delicate broth. On our second visit, we asked for it, but I'm not sure if we communicated it right or they forgot to come back with it, but they didn't bring us...we could have asked again and I'm sure they would have jumped to accommodate us, but it just didn't feel necessary, so we didn't bother. Maybe next time. For the second visit, we ordered the same pho as last time, but got the small, and only ordered the crispy rolls (trying to watch a few pennies, plus it was a late lunch, so we weren't looking to stuff ourselves). The crispy rolls were just as good as the first time. The soups were also as good, and the small size was definitely ample, and we can eat! I'd say the small is the size of the average large bowl in the Manassas area. The server asked if chopstickers were okay or if we'd like a fork. We are chopstickers, so we declined, but thanked them for the offer. Good to know, if we bring someone who isn't familiar with how they work or feels uncomfortable using them. Sodas come in cans and are charged individually. I'd like to get a bubble tea next time to test it out, though it isn't a huge priority for me. I like them, but don't have to have them. I did see that they have ginger tea on the menu, that I think might compliment well, so I'll try that next time.

Pho 234... For starters, significantly better compared to "Pho Gourmet" down the street. The parking lot is quite spacious, and easily accessible. When you walk in the first thing you notice is how clean and well lit the place is. The decor flows nicely, and overall it's a very inviting restaurant. The staff was friendly but it appeared like one person was doing everything, and therefore the service was initially slow. However, everything was very quick once ordered. The food was amazing! Everything tasted quite fresh and quite delicious. The prices were $1-2 cheaper versus their competitor, but the food here tasted so much fresher. The portions were gigantic, and when you ask for "extra" of something, they really do give you "extra". Overall... Five stars. Bang for buck, cleanliness, staff attitude, taste/portions, everything was great. In my opinion, Pho 234 is without a doubt, much better compared to Pho Gourmet.

I am absolutely a fan... the prices are GREAT and the food comes out quickly... The only thing is once you get your food, they don't come back to make sure you have enough drinks etc. Other than that, this place is fantastic!!!!!

Love this place. I live in Leesburg and commute between there and Manassas, not exactly the epicenter of authentic Vietnamese, nor can I qualify as a connoisseur as I have not been to any places closer in to DC. However, of the available pho places in my little area of the world, Pho 234 beats the rest by a mile. The portions are large and the soup flavorful, the veggies are fresh and I regularly have cravings for their spring rolls. My favorite dish for warm weather is the grilled lemongrass pork/spring roll combo over rice noodles and the best for cold weather is their Pho Ga (chicken soup). Sometimes the service is a bit slow, other times super fast but I always find them to be friendly and welcoming. I will cry a tear when I no longer commute down to Manassas on a daily basis, but only because I will no longer have the option of lunch here.

This place is GREAT!!! The food is amazing and the service matches the food. Everyone is very friendly and always has a smile on thier face. There has never been a time that we have gone to eat there where the food was not great the atmosphere even when its busy is claming and the people and very welcoming. If you are looking for GREAT PHO or any of the other dishes (shrimp with sugar cane is my fav) visit the place. Thanks and Happy New Year!

My wife and I heard lots of good things about Pho so we thought we'd give it a try. Pho 234 was fantastic so we went back a second time and it was equally good. We went back recently for a third time and it was horrific. The Pho broth was weak and we felt the meat wasn't as good. We decided to look for another place as we have become Pho lovers, it's just s shame this place has gone downhill so quickly.

I finally got to try this place out. Neal E. says this place is great. I was in the neighborhood for a Dr's appointment so I decided to go after I was done. When I first opened the door I smelled the wonderful smell of MSG filled broth. Mmmmm, I could already taste it. Then I saw the white board with the specials on it. I was SHOCKED. I almost went outside to see if I was in the right place. I had to be...my clothes were already smelling of Pho. What did I see? Special of the day Chicken Pad Thai!!! Why, why, why? I won't even go there. =) Enough of that now. I was greeted and brought to a table. My server gave me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. As I looked over the many choices of bowls of Pho, he brought me my water. I order the round eye with fatty brisket. The food came pretty fast, it was hot, and had a great smell. As Neal had mentioned, the broth was pretty low. I really didn't make a big deal of it. It looked like enough. As some know, I'm a purist, I don't add any hot sauce or hoisen sauce to my pho. If the broth is good, it doesn't need it. I took a sip, and it was nice and flavorful. I was happy, it tasted really good. Now I was sort of wishing I had more broth, but I figure I'd survive. The server did come and fill my water a couple of times, so that was good. My plate of sports were small, I actually did use it all. I can look all past that, because the broth was excellent. When I'm in Manassas again, I'll have to go back if I'm in a pho mood. Maybe I'll even get the Chicken Pad Thai!! Not!!!!! Again I ask, why, why, why? Would someone really go to a Vietnamese place for Thai food? Maybe Vietnamese can cook it. I'll tell you what, the Chinese can't cook Thai food =) So if you are in Manassas and you are looking for a good bowl of pho, check 234 out =)

Bad points: Pho broth was very salty. Fried egg rolls were salty as well. Generally, pho broth should not be overly salty, that's what the hoisin sauce (brown sauce next to siracha chili) is for, to adjust the taste. Chicken broth should always be pretty clear broth, otherwise that broth is beef broth. Good points: Portion size for pho is generous. Friendly staff.

Wife and I have been coming here for lunch because we have classes at GMU in Prince William County. This place is in the Festival at Manassas Shopping Center. If you are driving on Sudley road, you probably won't be able to see their sign. Wife had the Pho 234 (combo pho), and it was loaded with sliced beef, tendon, and tripe. I had grill pork and 1 friend roll with rice vermicelli. The pork was delicious and very tender. We share an order of shrimp roll and chicken wings--both were fresh and delicious. So far, we've been here three times in the last two months. We will probably make this place our regular lunch joint till the end of the semester.

They are pretty good, Pho nice and hot, only issue to me was a little heavy on the Ginger side and broth a Tad oily but overall a good meal. Spring Rolls were very tasty, atmosphere was very relaxed.

Wow, I was really surprised to find a good Vietnamese place in in Manassas! Maybe I'm just not familiar with the area, but there were actually a bunch of Viet places listed here on Yelp. So I picked this place based on Yelp reviews too. Goi Cun Chai (Vege spring rolls) were quite good, but the nuc mam was a bit too sweet. Vegetarian soup was done well with a good broth and my wife and daughter tell me that the Pho was pretty darn good too. This place won't break the bank, there is plenty of parking, and the service is both attentive and fast. I would definitely go back here if I'm back the area.

My review isn't very extensive as I quickly stopped in to have just a small, quick bite. I had 2 things: Bubble tea and the fresh veggie rolls (like the fresh shrimp rolls in rice paper, but just veggies). I had never seen fresh veggie rolls at a restaurant before and was afraid they wouldn't be as good as shrimp rolls, but was anxious to try them since I recently stopped eating meat. I liked them even MORE than the shrimp rolls! Bursting with flavor, especially from the basil, I would recommend them to anyone. The peanut sauce was great too. The bubble tea was very good, too- sometimes I'm asked which flavor I want, and it's always hard to choose, but they didn't ask me here (which made me assume there was just one flavor). It was very yummy. If I'm in this area, I'd definitely go back again!!

Came for weekday dinner...there were a few other patrons in the place, maybe a quarter full. Tried their large #1, noodle soup with all the fixin's- various cuts of beef, tripe, beef balls. Clear broth was flavorful, meat was good and portion was adequate. Trimmings were the usual- basil, sprouts, lime, jalapenos. Noodles were tender. CNN was playing on TV. Normally would have been a 4-star experience, but the down side was that the beef balls were not fresh. Not fresh as in borderline spoiled and completely inedible if not eaten within the hour. Maybe it was a fluke, maybe they need better quality control. Other than the beef balls, it was a good meal.

My familiarity with pho is, well, fairly limited. I had always wanted to try it, but as a vegetarian, most places I checked out used beef broth, or chicken broth, whatever. So, when the wife and I found Pho 234 and learned that they have veg broth, and veg pho, we scurried over. The first time we went there was on new years day, it was cold, we were hungry and bored, so we drove out and gave it a shot. The pho is bangin'. Piping hot, tons of veg, noodles, big servings. And they give you an obscene amount of Thai basil, sprouts and peppers to add. It warmed my heart and my tummy, it really reminded me of good ramen shops in Japan. We are gluttons, so we always get some appetizers too. They have a few different variations on spring rolls, and they are all good. But the fried spring roll........ diggety damn! It's good. We tried a pho place closer to our house, and it's good, but 234 kicks it's butt. We will drive the 25 minutes to get there. Go there, go now.
