The staff was very friendly and helpful while we decided what to order. I did not expect the portions to be that big but was excited to see so much food. You can get full and have leftovers for later!

The food is way overpriced and be careful about how much you tip! If you don't give them the full 15%, they will go back and change your amount in your bank statement! NEVER coming here again!

Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable for the very large portions. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, and my girlfriend ordered the green curry with chicken. The curry was fantastic, spicy and flavorful with large chunks of chicken and served with a bowl of rice on the side. However, the Pad Thai they gave me may have been the worst I've ever had, it was very bland and had no spice at all. Perhaps I am spoiled, coming from Portland where there are many options for Thai food from restaurants and food carts alike. I would definitely return, but I recommend you avoid the Pad Thai unless you are in the mood for a large pile of sticky, bland noodles.

Seriously, you can never go wrong with Taste of Thai. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Harrisonburg. The Thai tea is super sweet, just to warn you, but I love it like that! The walnut shrimp is so creamy and sweet. The fried rice has so much flavor. The staff is incredible as well. They always make sure you have a good dining experience. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Service for this place on a Saturday was under par. My friend called in for a reservation, so when we got there before her, they couldn't find the reservation. They only confused our reservation with another person. The reservation name turned out to be right there on the paper of their unorganized book. So it took around 20 minutes to be seated. The service was okay. I felt really bad because we had a table of 20 and they only had ONE server to our table. She had to bring out all of our waters, refill them, and bring out all of our food; everything. Eventually she had some help refilling water. The main reason this place got 4 stars was because the portions were HUGE. Like it really was big for what you pay. The food was not bad and what was expected from the menu. Everyone in my party was satisfied in the end.

This elegant treasure in the middle of a more lack-luster part of town offers an upscale dining experience without the price tag. Their curries are wonderful. My favorite one is the panang. They also offer a beautiful assortment of desserts.

We've tested this restaurant four times over seven years, with exactly the same disappointing experience every time, despite making clear and polite complaints to the management. The food is nice, service is satisfactory, but THE RESTAURANT IS TOO NOISY!! Tonight (August 16) I actually measured a peak sound level of 98 dBA, an intensity high enough to cause hearing lost if sustained. The typical background noise (NOT from music!) ran about 80 dBA, way too high to permit anything approaching normal conversation. This has been pointed out to management SEVERAL times, and it's been ignored. After this extended series of visits, we have decided that, sadly, the painful noise level negates any and all 'pros' regarding the quality of the food so will not visit again.

I love this place! The food is delicious and the people are great. My favorite dishes are Panang Chicken and Pad Thai. My wife loves the soup... I think it's called Tom Yum Goong. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Harrisonburg.

  • Kim L.

Love this thai place. Great service and atmosphere. Fantastic food. Best Sesame Chicken I've ever has. My favorite thai dish here is #64 Pad See Eew with pork. Their fried springs rolls are out of this world.

  • Taylor T.

Service was good, as usual, but unfortunately what has become usual is the really bad food. Taste of Thai has become a VERY Americanized version of Thai. Sweet, syrupy, salty, not fresh. The clientele has changed to match the menu. Can't really blame ownership for adapting to demand but what used to be a really good, small town, fresh tasting, Thai place, is now not much better than Food Court Take Away.

Wonderful food. Great service! Love this place, definitely will be back! My favorite is the crabmeat fried rice for appetizer the spring rolls are amazing! Perfect date night.

I love this place! This place makes me miss Harrisonburg. For my fiance's birthday, I took him here because it was where we had our first date. 2 hour drive but very much worth it. I haven't been able to find a better Thai place up in Northern Virginia. We always get the Green Curry and Pad See Eaw. The green curry has a spicy chili next to it in the menu but the waiter said that it is not that spicy at all. She was right. It's a little kick but not mouth burning. It comes with a generous portion of rice. Fiance said that other places only give you a tiny bowl but here--it's so much that even he thought it was too much rice haha! Pad See Eaw is my favorite. At other thai places that i've been to, it has always been too oily. This Pad See Eaw can get salty so have that glass of water ready. Service is okay. It can get busy but I think it was graduation weekend when we went so it was filled with family. Not sure if they take reservations but might want to cal in just in case. Wish it was closer to where I live!

I'm usually a big fan of Thai food but was not very impressed. The pad Thai didn't have much flavor and was pretty greasy. Service was also a bit overwhelmed on a Friday night and was pretty slow, though the waiter was very friendly. I would not recommend this place, but would go back if I was in the mood for Thai and there weren't any other options.

  • Alison M.

Harrisonburg doesn't boast a lot of options for the most part and this place is fairly large and well managed. The menu is pretty big, the seating area is big enough to fit a lot of people when full and it does fill up on weekend nights, and the food is good. This place is clean and tidy and the service was very good. I got my usual, Pad Thai chicken and it was great. I've been here a few times and I'll continue to visit this restaurant when I visit H-burg.

I eat Thai food at least once a week at various spots where I live in New York City and have eaten Thai both all over the city and the country as I travel a ton for work. I was at this restaurant this past winter while in town for work, and the Pad Woon Sen here is hands down the best Thai noodle dish I have ever had. Wish I were in Virginia more often!

  • AL B.

Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Waited 10 more till I gave up on being attended to by the busy waitress. Waited 5 mins in line to place carryout order. Waited 10 for my food, and then 5 more to pay. Sat in my car and ate... Took me 10 mins longer than it should have bc the beef & frozen veggies were SO chewy. At least the 2nd half of my date with myself (movie) went well even though I had pretty bad Thai breath.

Taste of Thai is a little side-street secret that many Harrisonburg regulars seem to be a fan of (including myself). For being a person who is somewhat afraid to try new items on the menu, I was not disappointed with the pineapple fried rice and the curry I usually get is tasty and with good texture. The food is always filling, price is reasonable, and accoustics perfect for intimate conversation or business talk. The staff takes good care of you without being obnoxious.

I moved to Harrisonburg back in 1998, shortly after that Taste Of Thai opened up. This was a little restaurant that was one a block from our home. We would walk over there at lest once a week for dinner. Over the years we ended up moving 20 minutes away but still would eat there every month or so. The place has now double the size and the crowds on the weekends pretty much keep us away. We still have been go about 4 times a year now, but the food now is definitely not the same as when it open. Back when it opened it was 5 stars restaurant hands down. I gave it 3 stars because now its hit or miss. I judge a restaurant on how clean it is and this place is dirty. The tables are always sticky even after the dirty rag wipe down between customers. The food is no longer good either. The sauces are water down and flavorless and the potions are smaller. I think they might just have more customers than they can handle and try to stretch the food to make it last though out the night. Sad, I use to love this place but the last time I went I got sick, so doubt I'll ever go back.

I worked at this restaurant for 2 years, and while that does make me bias, it also bodes very well that I still LOVE it after eating there several times a week for years. I have yet to find thai food that is as consistently fresh, flavorful, and bountiful (seriously big portions) as Taste of Thai. And that's saying a lot considering I live close to Manhattan that has literally hundreds of thai restaurants to choose from. The restaurant is run by a thai family that are dedicated to making each dish be earth-shatteringly delicious. Their menu is large and there's something for everyone no matter your preferences. The restaurant is casual and very big; I really can't say enough positive things about this place. You'll have to try their Pad Woon Sen, Drunken Noodle, Panang curry, and don't forget their delicious spring rolls (garden rolls available for you vegetarians).

  • Jinnie H.

This is the best Thai restaurant I've been too. Have eaten here since 1999 and LOVE it!! Spring rolls and peanut sauce are my favorite appetizer. I have moved to North Carolina a year ago and have not found anything close to having the flavor. Miss you Taste of Thai!!

  • Jennah N.

Some of the worst thai food I've ever had. The food was very bland. It didn't have enough flavors in the food.

  • Nick H.

Hands down, Taste of Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. Not just the best Thai restaurant in the Harrisonburg/JMU area, but best period. And that says a lot considering how many Thai restaurants there are in the DC metropolitan area (where I live full time). In the handful of times that I've visited a friend or relative at JMU, we've eaten at Taste of Thai nearly every time, and everytime it's been amazing. I was here this past holiday weekend with my cousins and sister, and we all ordered a dish and shared family style. It was one of the most stuffed and full times I've ever felt in my life, and that just shows how great the food is. We took the leftovers home and promptly devoured it the next morning. You literally can't go wrong with any entree choice here. I loved EVERYTHING.

  • David H.

Praram. Never seen it on another thai menu. I have to get it anytime I'm in the area The food here is great especially for hburg, green and red curries are good, fried rice, pad thai, drunken noodles are good, mango sticky rice is good, everything good

As a former student, this was the ideal spot to take my parents. I speak from experience. Slightly too expensive for everyday student food, but inexpensive enough for parents. Consistently large portions and consistently high quality. Sometime we even went to Taste of Thai if we just needed to reward ourselves for being awesome. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant.. as well as an extremely diverse and eclectic Asian supermarket.

I was visiting the Harrisonburg area and decided to try this place out since I love Thai food. When I got there, the waiters and waitress were the hostess as well. I waited there for a bit until a waitress was finally available to seat us. The restaurant was pretty big and seemed pretty crowded. I always think a good amount of crowd is a good sign but was I wrong about this place. First, I had the Thai iced tea. It was super sweet that I ended up pouring water into it to take away some of the sweetness. Second, the Thai spring roll came out but it was very tasteless and the Tom Yum soup. The soup was pretty sweet. Third, our main dishes came out. I had ordered their thai curry that had peanut sauce with what looked like yellow curry and pad thai. When I got to the restaurant, I was starving but we left with almost all of the main dishes. We took several bites but could not eat any more because the food was so sweet. Don't get me wrong ... I love sweets but all the food we ordered was super sweet. I didn't want sweets from beginning to end. Too bad most of the food ended up getting thrown out by the next day. The to-go food was just as sweet the next day.

Great food. Service was excellent. Surprising large crowd for a Wednesday night. Reasonable prices. Good size portions.

Came here with my family while we were on vacation. A little out of the way of the main drag, but worth it. We shared a few appetizers and we each ordered an entree that we shared with each other so I can say I sampled quite a bit from the menu. All the food was delicious, fresh tasting and well-presented. The service was friendly and the prices were great. They have amazing, if not particulary ethnically accurate, desserts as well.

BEST Thai food I've ever had, the Pad Thai is amazing. I always get the Garden and Spring rolls to start it off and order the Pad Thai with shrimp 1 star spicy. Never have had any complaints at Taste of Thai, portions are great and food is delicious. Highly recommend if your in the Harrisonburg area.

  • Lauren K.

Good food. Great improvement in the spice and flavor in the last two years. Very friendly staff. They try to accommodate large groups and families with kids.

  • R M.

Meh. I would come here again if a friend really wanted to but I wouldn't choose to eat here. The fresh spring rolls were pretty unappetizing and the dipping sauce was just hoisin sauce. The vegetable green curry had decent flavor and lots of vegetables but they were over cooked and the menu said it was "Thai spicy." I have been to Thailand and this was not even American spicy. We also had a chicken and broccoli dish (don't remember the name) that was actually pretty tasty but tasted more Chinese than Thai. If you don't have a better option in town, this place will do the trick but if I lived here I would hope for better.

  • Patrick C.

Nothing special, little taste and nothing memorable. The service is poor, and the room noisy. It could be better but they focus on quantity vs. quality. In the 10 or so Thai places I have visited in my life this is the worst. I will not return because Thai food should not lack flavor.

    (2)
  • Divya G.

"This place is good and usually very crowded but they do not have any vegetarian options. Their vegetarian red curry and panang curry also have fish sauce in it. So there were not many options for us in that restaurant."

This is our "go to" restaurant, nice atmosphere, great staff...and fantastic food. Pa Nang pork...best I've had!

  • Shannon C.

The best Thai food I have ever had! Ok, I worked here in college and the owners being the amazing people that they are fed us every night at the end of our shift, so I've tried most of the menu. I live in New York and cannot find thai food that is as good as this in New York, nor can any of my friends from college! It really is amazingly good. They switched the oil they use to soybean (I believe) oil so it's not greasy at all. Prices are reasonable, portions are huge, and I obviously love the people who work there! In terms of what's good...everything! But my personal favorite is #44 bean thread noodles and #55 panang curry. They made a great drunken noodle, pad see ew, green curry, spciy basil sauce...like I said EVERYTHING!!

Taste of Thai is the best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. Every time I visit Harrisonburg, this is a must stop. My favorite dish is their chicken, steak and shrimp over fried rice. You might laugh at the simplicity, but it's amazing how many placed mess-this-up... I can't remember which item number it is on their menu (or the official name of the dish), but I always order their fried rice with shrimp, steak and chicken. Not only is it wonderfully flavorful, but it's enough food to take home for another meal! Great food. Good value. Nice/ clean atmosphere. What more do you want in a Thai restaurant?!

Stopped by for a quick Thai veggie dinner on the way home based upon a recommendaiton (if you'd call it that) from the GPS. Ordered the pad thai, a massive heaping pile of noodles came with lots of chopped veggies and a few big chunks of tofu. Nice portion size! Food was average, it came out extremely fast (less than 5 minutes) and was a bit greasy, but tasty. Staff was nice and helpful, gave me a go cup for the tea (which was real brewed, kind of unique for Thai restaurants that typically have tea on the gun). Not bad, not bad at all...

So, this is my favorite restaurant I've ever been to...in my life. You should definitely go here if you're a fan of Thai food.

Really a delightful place for lunch or dinner. While I have not tried a large number of there dishes, the sesame chicken is a winner. Served in a large portion with broccoli and white rice, I have rarely been able to finish the serving. The complimentary soup at lunch is always tasty. It can be a bit noisy if crowded, but otherwise the atmosphere is pleasant.

Very nice Thai restaurant about 2 blocks off Main Street in downtown Blacksburg. The menu had a lot of options. We ordered the Drunken Noodles and the Ruby Curry, both with chicken. You can choose your heat level between mild, medium, hot, or Thai. I enjoy spicy food. My curry was ordered Hot and it was VERY spicy hot. My wife ordered her drunken noodles medium and they were also very spicy hot. Adjust to your taste accordingly. Both dishes were very good, a decent portion, and with a nice presentation. We will return.

Good service and was fun going with our friends who are local patrons. I was warned the drink I bought (Thai Iced Tea) would taste different than it sounded and sure enough, they were right (unfortunately). Haha, oh well, food was good and I still had a great time. If I visit VA again, I'm sure our friends will take us back here.

  • William S.

The food here is just not good. As others have said, it's not even Thai food - it's more similar to Chinese food you'd get at a mall. Not recommended.

    (2)
  • Courtney B.

Love it! Other reviews complained about the prices, but the portions are HUGE. I think the prices are fair for what you get in return. I love the pad Thai and mango sticky rice! Also the currys are great. I haven't found anything I don't like.

  • C C.

We stopped here on our way through town because of the good reviews on Yelp and we're glad we did. The menu has something for everyone and their food is fantastic. The service is pretty good and the atmosphere is open and welcoming. Because it is open, it is a little noisy but not too bad. My only complaint would be their levels of spice. They have spicy, Thai spicy and not spicy. I like a little spice but different restaurants have varying levels of spice so I would prefer to go with medium spice. This they do not offer so I wish I would've went for the spicy. Its a fairly busy place because it is so good and worth the wait.

This was the restaurant I chose to go to after a 5 day hike on the Appalachian Trail. The food tasted so magical that day. I easily finished my Pad Thai and Fried Tofu appetizer. My friend had the Pad Kra Praw (I think) and seemed to be in heaven. The other times that I went there were also pretty excellent, though not nearly as memorable as that one. Just don't go here when it's parent's weekend or homecoming, because every JMU student and their parents are waiting to get inside.

We went to Taste of Thai based on the Yelp reviews. In short, it's pretty good. It's above average Thai food. Be sure you are hungry when you go. I do not like to review based on just one visit, but I don't think I have another chance. My family ordered 3 dishes, 2 appetizers. All dishes were very good. I'd leave 4 stars from the stuff I had. I took one off because, at the very end, in my green curry, I felt a bit of MSG after taste. It may or may not be true, but if I don't like the after taste, then that's that. The portion size is generous. My family members ate half at best. I managed to finish my green curry, but that was a lot of food. My green curry was very soupy. Two other dishes, two kinds of noodle dishes were yummy. Both dishes look more like Chinese food than Thai, but I don't know enough about authentic Thai food to compare to. In short, we all liked food. 3-stars would be slightly harsh. Have I had better Thai food before? Yes. (Thai Moon in my home town) Have I had worse Thai food before? Yes, a lot.

Aside from the price range of the food and drinks at Taste of Thai, this place is pretty phenomenal. The atmosphere is a little on the darker side with a modern and classy Thai restaurant feel. The server was nice and friendly. The food was tasty but not the best Thai I've had. This is definitely a great place to dine in with friends! Over all experience was great.

  • Rebekah J.

Let me start out by saying this was the worst service ever , I arrived at 6:00 pm on Thursday the restaurant wasn't really busy with many servers on, I was seated right away and then it all went down here from there. I sat for at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me again to take my drink order then he came back and took my food order and it took 15 mins to get my appetizer and 25 more minutes to get my food then while eating I had to ask if any one could get me another beverage them I ask for a desert menu and no one came back I got up to leave and then and only then did the server come running at which time I said I wanted a box and my check and he proceeds to have a fit in his language at me but so I wouldn't know what he was saying the only reason I gave it a 1 star is because the food was pretty good but I will never return

Favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg. Clementine I love too but this is the best Thai Restaurant I have ever eaten in and I have lived in the DC area for 30 years. Their vegetarian pad woonsen is so good, portions are huge too. Have been there when they are very crowded but they are always very nice. Pleasant atmosphere and great food. Try it!

Just returned here for a family dinner. I read the positive and negative reviews, and consider myself a good judge of Thai food having lived in Thailand for 5+ years. This place has passable Thai food. Sauces are too heavy and thick, lacking the wonderful subtlety and taste of better restaurants. They seem to use the same peanut sauce from the Satay for their chicken panang, which is way too thick. Phad Thai, always a good test, was just OK, a bit short on fish sauce and lacking the flavor of better Thai restaurants. Of the several dishes we ordered the Larb Gai was closest to excellent. Overall, Taste of Thai will probably dominate in small market Harrisonburg against smaller places there now but one wishes it could up it's game.

I've been eating at Taste of Thai for years. I can remember when they were still the tiny little place crammed in next to the car audio store. It was tasty then, and it's only gotten better. The service might not always be as quick as you want, but I guess I don't mind waiting for food I love, and I've definitely experienced much worse service in most of the chain restaurants around town . I'm usually there with friends, and the goal is to enjoy each others company, so maybe I just don't notice as much as some other reviewers on here. Their broccoli sesame chicken (noted to as one of the chef's specials) is what I would request as my last meal if given the option.

I beg to differ with "Winston S." in his review - "Unless you're a food snob, you'll probably enjoy the place. Good, solid Thai food." ...well, you don't have to be a "food snob" to know that you don't need loads of MSG if you're cooking ACTUAL "good solid" Thai food. This place sucks. Flies, we were served by a twelve year old, and I asked for something without MSG, and was pointed to one item - ONE ITEM - on the menu. A stir-fry with a clear sauce. Blargh. I just don't get why so many people fuss about this place. This is Thai-ish food made by non-Thai's. If you want authentic and chemical-free, try Saigon Cafe. Vietnamese food made by - get this - Vietnamese folks!

The best Thai in Harrisonburg. I was introduced to Thai food with this restaurant while I went to JMU. I ate here dozens of times and never regretted anything I ordered. I would love to go back and eat there someday.

Ok, I was born in Thailand, Lived there, and without a doubt I can say this is the best and most authentic Thai Cuisine that I have had in the states with the exception of a few high end places. But Obviously this Thai place is in the middle of no where Virginia, And it's without a doubt a JMU favorite. By the way please note that Thai Cuisine can be known to be very spicy, and also note if you ask for them to bring the spices of the dish down (aka westernize it) then it will also diminish some of the authenticity and tastes characterized of those dishes. So please appreciate the food you get here because trust me it's as good as it gets around there I'm sure, and even against much pricier Northern Virginia Establishments. Want a meal idea for two hungry people? get the Papaya Salad (It's Spicy)for Starters, Fried Spring Rolls for appetizers, Tom Yum Goong Soup (Spicy) And Pad Kra Prow (Get the Pork or Beef) - Main Entre And plenty of White Rice

I can't believe the negative reviews here. I won't take the time to refute them all. But - these are Thai people here. And it's absolutely not Chinese food. Moving on - I've eaten here since the month it opened. It's consistently excellent food. (The lunch comes with good complimentary soup. Very good.) Our family have many favorites. The fish and seafood dishes are fine. Kee Mao noodles are my regular. Curries are decent. (We're lucky - we have 2 other good Thai restaurants in H'burg. But this one is the best.) Big menu, a little pricey. But good service (with very few exceptions). The constant crowds here - many are college staff and students - speak to reliable quality.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! This place is absolutely incredible! When I was attending JMU for college my family would come up and "see me" two times a month even though I am sure it is just because they wanted to eat here! haha... Now that I am no longer in Harrisonburg, we still drive the hour and a half to eat here. I love the taste and the food is always fresh. The portions are huge. Their fried spring rolls and the peanut sauce that comes with it are soooooooooo good!!! I can honestly say I crave those things and I admit that I have a slight addiction to them! I highly recommend this place (obviously:))

I really wanted to like this place, especially after a two-days camping trip. We walked in on Memorial Day and the service was slow. The waiter took our order for drinks (water for him, hot tea for me) and practically disappeared for a good ten minutes before returning with the water and the tea. The menu is of a vietnamese/thai/chinese fusion. And the food, you guessed it, tasted like the vietnamese/thai/chinese fusion food. The pad kra prow beef tasted a lot like oyster beef (Cantonese dish) with additional basil in it. The massaman curry lacks the wonderful cardamon sweetness (straight from a can, maybe?). I was hungry for some REAL food after two days of camping food. Next time, I'm going to Arby's.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg. The food is tasty and fresh and the wait staff is always friendly and attentive. They might not have 100% authentic Thai food but it's Americanized enough to suit more people's tastes. Their Pad Thai is the best I've had from any of the restaurants I've been to. If you're in town and are adventurous I would strongly recommend giving this place a try.

  • billy h.

Every experience I've had at Taste of Thai has been a disappointment. The food is usually pretty good, but the service has always been extremely slow, or essentially nonexistent. The first time I went we waited for 20 minutes for our menus, 20 minutes for our drinks (which never were refilled), and over an hour for our food. Our waitress was eating her meal, chatting with friends, and never checked on us. If you want good service and good Thai, go to Thai Flavor. There are few restaurants in Harrisonburg that can match the level and quality of service as Thai Flavor.

Lovely atmosphere, food was good but way overpriced. Dude, this is Harrisonburg Virginia not Manhattan. Why are your bowls of soup $13?? We ended up paying over $30 for lunch. Too much.

  • Matthew B.

I was the "he" in Vivian's review. I think this place is suffering from the small town ethnic restaurant problem. They seem to have tried to attract the larger customer base by going for the "fusion" angle in their menu. The problem is we ended up with a mix that didn't really provide the good side of Thai food. The pad kra prow I ordered tasted more like a Chinese (Cantonese according to Vivian) dish with a very thick and bland sauce (way too much corn starch?) and a much heavier emphasis on vegetables than I expected. The quality of meat (beef) was pretty poor. Vegetable preparation was pretty sloppy with poor attention to detail. Slices were inconsistent and really quite large for the dishes. The tom kha gai was decent, but the same applied to the meat here (chicken). Oh, yeah, and service was abysmal. I'm not talking about chef/kitchen issues - the waiter simply took entirely too long to address us, deliver our drinks, etc. What should have been a quick mid-afternoon lunch trip took an hour and a half. The food isn't going to poison you, and it isn't /bad/, it just isn't really that good. I feel bad for the people of Harrisonburg if this is the best Thai available.

Taste of Thai has been my favorite Thai restaurant, and favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg, since it opened. Whether we eat in or take out, we must stop here every time we are in town. As JMU alumni, we started going there when it was literally a hole in the wall with about 10 tables. This last time (October 27) we ate in and had Pad Thai with shrimp, Veggie Fried Rice, and Pad Woon Sen. Wow, best fried rice ever and the Pad Woon Sen has been my favorite since I started eating Vegetarian about 5 months ago. The portions allow us to always have leftovers when we get home the next day and it lasts a few meals. This time we actually tried desert and whatever the Peanut Butter Chocolate pie is made of should not be legal. We loved it and I tried to talk my wife out of hers once we got home. Great place all around and although it is incredibly hectic compared to what we remember all those years ago, they have done a good job keeping up with the service and not sacrificing on the quality of the food one bit.

Wonderful service, great menu and delicious food. The spring roll peanut dipping sauce is the best in the 'Burg! I ordered the Tom Yok and thought it was seasoned and cooked to perfection.

I have tried so many Thai restaurants and this is, by far, the best one. Crispy beef is always good and the pad thai - YUM. Really, I don't have to say much because the food speaks for itself.

I do enjoy the food here but the service leave something to be desired. I don't know if it is because I look like the typical college student, but every time I go there with my girlfriend I feel like I am annoying the server (if they even come to the table)...Foods great service stinks

I really like this place. I've never had a problem with the service and my food has always been good; with the exception of the soup they serve with lunch. I just can't get over it's dog food smell so I just ask them not to bring it to my table. The prices are a little on the high side, but worth it.

Three letters MSG !! I honestly don't understand why people like this place.. If they didn't drown all the food in a chemical flavor enhancer, who knows how it might taste .. Oh, wait a sec .. I do. I asked my waitress if the had anything without Msg in it and after about an hour was given the only thing - a soup that didn't have the 'usual sauce' in it , that tasted like dirty dish water. Google MSG .. often, it is used to cover up the taste of food that is past it's prime. Good for their food costs, just plain nasty for you. Don't do this to yourself !

I agree with other reviewers -- this place is consistently delicious. The quality has not changed since my years as an undergrad in the early-mid 2000s. I can't remember any names of the many dishes I've had here and loved but I know I will continue again and again to return!

This is definitely a great find in a small city. To be able to get good Thai food here is fantastic. HIghly recommend it.

I love Taste of Thai - although I usually stick with the same menu items over and over, they are consistently delicious. I enjoy the spring rolls and the Crispy Egg Noodle special. Occasionally we get slow service, but for the most part it's a great place, whether for a date or a girls' night out.

Good quality of food and alcohol, but I wish it were a bit cheaper. I personally enjoy the Papaya salad, which is to die for and the best place to get it in the middle of nowhere.

I'm not raving about this place as much as some of my friends do, but everything we ordered came out pretty tasty and the portions were generous. For me this wasn't really "Thai" food as much as an Americanized "oriental" mix -- good place to take company from out of town, though -- there's probably something for everyone here.

Taste of Thai is my favorite restaurant in Harrisonburg. Just thinking of their Tom Kha Gai soup (coconut milk with lemongrass, chicken, and mushrooms) makes my mouth water. Other favorites include Pad Thai Tofu and Fried Tofu. The staff is friendly but often slow in waiting on tables. However, the food quality more than makes up for any small faults. There are two rooms suitable for larger groups or private events, and there is rarely a wait for a table even when the parking lot is completely full. A good value and a wonderful asset for this city.

I'm not a big fan of this restaurant, the service is slow, and the food tends to be salty or overly sweet, it is more like Chinese than Thai. The atmosphere is nice and the people are friendly but I would rather eat at The Thai Flavor or the The Thai Cafe both are considerable better in flavor and service.

my husband and i ate here constantly when we lived in harrisonburg. their spring rolls and coconut soup are the best we've ever had. it is indeed a good place to take the parents. their food is worthy of a bigger city. hooray for high quality food!

I never expected to find great thai in Harrisonburg but Taste of Thai certainly is a surprise. Some of the best thai food I've had anywhere. They've recently expanded and have tons of tables in a very nice environment. I'm rarely in the Harrisonburg area these days, but when I am I make sure to stop by. One other plus is the adjacent world market that sells lots of ethnic ingredients.

This was my favorite Thai restaurant until Thai Siam (Nelson County, VA) bumped it out of it's spot...still though, a great find, definitely the best Thai restaurant in H-burg. You can't find spicy tofu like that anywhere else!!
