Went twice in one night to see if the service would be better but to no avail! The bartender that had ended up serving me both times! The first time she was rushing myself and my date that I was with and over charged us on drinks! I ended up going later on that night with a few of my bros and the same women charged me for everyones drinks and food when we clearly stated we were all paying for ourselves and never apologized for her mistake. I understand if people having a bad day but hopefully she can try to be more optimistic at work because it definitely made me not want to spend any more money at this establishment.

My husband and I just had a couple glasses of wine at Bar Louie this afternoon and we weren't very impressed. We waited a while for before being approached. The manager walked by us twice without an acknowledgment...she was more worried about restocking her bar. There were only 5 tables in the restaurant and there were a couple people voicing complaints that they were not getting their food in a timely fashion. I realize it was "off hours" but if you are open you should give good service to everyone there and your management staff should be more supportive. The wine prices are crazy high! Probably won't go back...especially when there are other options in the area!

I'm sorry, but this place sucks. Point blank. I've been here so many times, hoping it'll change, but it doesn't. The bar staff acts like they're too dang good to notice you and they charge the wrong drinks on your tab. And then when you confront the manager, he acts like it's not his problem. I'm a server, myself, so trust me I'm not being a dick. Y'all need to get it together!

I had dinner here with a friend that I hadn't seen since my undergrad days who now lives in Hampton. Being new to Hampton Roads (and also living in Williamsburg) I left it up to her to decide where we ate. This was a solid choice as a place to meet and chat with a young friend I hadn't seen in several years. The atmosphere was fun, with a large bar, contemporary decor and TV's playing sports. In many cases restaurants/bars with the aforementioned qualities are also loud and rowdy, making conversation difficult; the noise level at Bar Louie, however, was not at all a hindrance to our conversation. Our server was friendly, with a great smile (a genuine smile from staff always enhances my dining experience). Being new to the restaurant, it would have been nice if she could have given more specific recommendations, however. When I asked for her opinion on a couple of their best entrees, she basically said "they're all good." I noticed there was a fairly extensive list of small plates, which would be nice to pair with happy hour beverages sometime. On this night, however, we were both more in the mood for burgers, which my friend knew from experience were good. I ordered the Blue Louie, which was topped with bacon, blue cheese and raw spinach. It was HUGE (just over the "too messy" threshold in my opinion) and unfortunately was cooked nearly well done when I had ordered it medium rare (darn it it's difficult to find a place who gets it right). I felt that the ginormous size of the burger didn't allow the flavors and textures from its complimenting toppings to come through strong enough. I had it with a side of taters that weren't anything too special. I complimented my burger with a big glass of Miller Lite, which was on tap. My friend ordered her burger well done so she automatically is discredited as a foodie (not that she considers herself one anyways). So, to sum it up, Bar Louie was a great place to catch up in a casual and fun environment. The food was nothing to write home about, but the beer was huge. I'd like to come back during happy hour at some point and try a couple of their small plates and martinis.

Worst. Service. Ever. The waitress (slightly thick black girl with shoulder length hair) came to order our drinks over 5 minutes after we sat down. Even though it wasn't even close to busy, 10 minutes passed before we saw her again. I had to stop another waitress to ask where she was so we could order. When she finally came, I asked about our drinks. She said nothing, just turned and walked to the bar to order them. We put our menus down, walked out, and went next door to the Green Turtle, where we got great service!

I went here after work with a friend to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We went because it was open late. We sat at a table that was extremely sticky and covered with food debris. Once we got drinks they were weak. I ordered Tanqueray and tonic. The tonic was flat and I had to ask for a lime. The food was vial. Chicken lettuce wraps and some chips with dips. Filling for lettuce wraps was all noodles in a slimy sauce with another gooey sauce on the side. Guacamole was a tiny bowl of of tasteless goo with a piece of unripe avocado that was so hard you could not stick a chip into it. All of. This awfulness was also very expensive

This place used to be great and has seriously gone down in terms of service. Every drink takes 30 minutes to come to a table, my husband had to go to the bar to get his drink. Tater tots were cold by the time it got to our table. We ordered our food and it's still not here after an hour. The waitress kept disappearing. Absolutely ridiculous.

I've attempted multiple times to give Bar Louie an opportunity to improve from opening day. (I loved the Bar Louie if WPB, FL). Unfortunately, the service has consistently SUCKED!. We usually go straight to the bar for a bit of an improvement. We even tried to watch some football and even though the place was dead and had adequate staff, the service sucked:( Boo-hoo.

I have been to Bar Louie a few times since it opened in peninsula town center and have had a great time. However, I took my wife there last night, just wanting a couple of drinks, and something to snack on. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes before anyone even looked at us. When we finally did order, my wife ordered a cosmo and I ordered a beer and their loaded fries. The cosmo came fairly quickly but my beer was forgotten. My wife finished her cosmo(which had almost no alcohol in it) and waited with an empty glass for another 20 minutes to get another. Now is about the time I realize that it has 45 minutes since I ordered fries with some stuff on them. We decided to cut our losses and drink at home instead of being disappointed by a bar we used to like. I dont think that this place is bad....yet. The owners of Bar Louie really need to look at some of their bartenders and question whether the should be employed or not.

My husband and I came in for some good food because we heard from a coworker of mine that the burgers and tater tots were really good. I'm super pregnant so I am really wanting a tasty burger. We sat down, sat there for awhile and the first lady came took our drinks and our appetizer and left another lady came dropped our food off..coming to realize the girl that gave us the appetizer was our waitress. We sat there wondering why she's didnt ask what we wanted to order. As we sat eating our appetizer my husband said if they don't come back and ask us what we want we are leaving. The appetizer we did have was very good. But as soon as we were done we waited for another 15minutes until our waitress came back, my husband said this was ridiculous and can we just get the check. She left came back and was very rude to my husband. To have him upset about the service is pretty serious because he never complains and understands but in this situation there was no one in the restaurant and a lot of waiters just talking and laughing at the bar not paying any attention or doing their jobs. I only give this 1 star because this place has terrible customer service with rude waiters but the food is really good. I would just get something to go if I were you. if you're lucky and get someone to come and talk to you.

I do not think that this is a good bar. The bar tenders did not know how to make drinks. She had to look up how to make a Bahama mama. The bartender took forever. She was more concerned about the guy on the other side of the bar than me. They were not busy. Trust me save your money by going to the ABC store and making your own drinks.

If you are looking to be waited on hand and foot, then Bar Louie is not the place for you. I have had a previous bad experience with a lack of service- no server came by for 20 minutes. We were debating leaving when someone finally came over. That situation was handled very well by management so I decided to give it another shot. I recommend if you plan to go to Bar Louie if you are in a small group to sit right at the bar. You can't be overlooked! They have pretty good happy hour specials which are $3 drafts $4 wines and $5 martinis from 5-9 I believe. They also have appetizer specials on flatbreads as well. We ordered wine and kept it coming. By glass #3 we needed waters and food so we ordered the hummus, tapenade, and tzatziki app which was fantastic! It came out quickly with warm pita bread quarters and cucumber slices. Perfect app- light but filling. This definitely redeemed Bar Louie from my previous experience and I will definitely go back.

Bar Louie is Swirling the drain. Ever since its debut the quality of service, drinks, and food have consistently declined. The only thing worst than subpar drinks and food is waitresses with attitude. This place is overrated and if you must go order things that can't be messed up like wine and beer.

This is a nice little hang out in Hampton, across from the Cinebistro. The Appetizers were pretty good, and the drinks were OK. I wasn't wowed nor disappointed. I'd put this in my hanging out with friends or a date category, most of the patrons were in their own little bubbles, including me.

The service sucks at this place. I went there twice and it's the same type of service, almost nonexistent ...No one at the door to greet you. When you walk in and have a seat, you will be waiting about 10/15 minutes before anyone comes to your table. You have to asked for a server. Will never go here again unless all the other restaurants in the Hampton roads area close. Needs new managers with customer service knowledge...

I ordered a orange, black berry and brie salad that took almost 30 minutes for it to come out. When it finally came out, the salad consisted of four small slices of brie at each corner of the plate, one piece of orange, 3 blackberries, and more spinach and romaine lettuce than needed. This should have been constructed with a lot more brie, oranges and black berries. The kitchen manger came out to apologize and took care of the bill. I didn't even ask for him to come out or comp the meal. I thought the service was good because the waitress was very sympathetic and sweet. Maybe I came on a bad day but I will hesitate to come back for food again.

I have to give Bar Louie a lot of credit...this place is cool. I don't get back home to Hampton often and this was the first time I've been back since the Peninsula Town Center is up and fully functional (about 3yrs). Bar Louie is definitely the spot! I met a friend for lunch earlier this month and I was definitely impressed. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and it was really good. I was a bit hesitant to order it, but as I was craving swine, I had to go for it. The waitress, Megan, was really friendly. I asked for some coffee and she just brought the whole pot out. THANK YOU! She was great. All in all, I really liked this place. I don't think of Hampton as the center of hot food spots...hell it's not even on the periphery...but next time I'm home, I'll be back. I remember when Hooter's was me and my friends go to spot for happy hour and to meet up when we all come back to town. I'm gonna switch that up! Good job Bar Louie.

I met up with some friends at Bar Louie on Valentines Day. This was my first time here. I was really impressed by the decor. That have a huge wrap around bar and more than enough tables -both bar height and regular - for a good size crowd. I want to point out that the Valentines Day special they advertised was a bit misleading, the way the flier read it made me (and a few others) believe that you could get a "Heartbreaker" martini AND a "It's not me it's you" shot for $5. Unfortunately, it was only one or the other - not both. They have Happy Hour specials that includes their menu of martinis and half off appetizers. My complaint was the service - although I feel in my heart (it was Valentines Day - get it?) that he meant well, our server wasn't on point. He completely forgot to bring out a salad that was ordered. I ordered an Italian beef flat bread. It was a bit greasy but very tasty. It's big enough to share too. For Happy hour it was 1/2 off - a greasy, sharable flat bread for 6 dollars is not bad at all. I like the place, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing.

Probably my favorite place in Newport News so far. Mixed crowd no dress code food is excellent. Live band on most Saturday nights. A little on the upper price range but worth it. Single and looking or Married and chilling its a good place to stop by. And have some good drinks and good food and start your Saturday night.

Came to watch the game because The Green Turtle was packed. Bar Louie was completely empty when we arrived but yet the service was still slow. As the afternoon goes on the Bar fills up and the service gets even slower. It has now been 40 minutes since I asked for my refill on my soft drink.

I've been meaning to review this place! I usually don't review after only going somewhere once, but so many decent places are closing lately in Hampton that I feel the need to share the love more often. I went with a group of about six ladies for an farewell dinner. First lemme say that the interior is nice, pretty surprising for Hampton! It's like a hip little martini bar, lots of tall tables with leather chairs and modern fixtures. Happy Hour here is great. If you don't like watered down drinks served in plastic cups, but still want to get a good deal on Happy Hour, this is your place. I think it was $3 drafts and $4 house wines. They had a really good zin on the menu, and at $4, I wasn't going to pass that up! Onto ze food, happy hour also had 50% apps, so we got a few for the table; traditional calamari, meatballs and spinach dip. The only thing I can really say is that they gave you a lot of food for the price and the meatballs were pretty good. Everything else was meh. For dinner I had the crispy chicken melt buffalo style and it was really good! I love a buffalo chicken sandwich and this one stood up to some of my favs. Overall, I'd recommend this place. Mostly because I would like it to be there in 5 months when I decide to patronize it again.

I recently returned to Bar Louie on a Friday evening for Happy Hour. The $5 martini's, $3 beers and $5 burgers were a big hit. I met up with some friends and we had a ball drinking and eating near the front of the bar where they opened up the folding doors to let in the breeze. My major knock on Bar Louie was the price of the drinks and food. I found out that if you hit up happy hour, you can have a pretty reasonable evening without going broke. It's the late night hanging out that is the ball breaker in Bar Louie's. That being said, I have changed my rating from a 3 to 4 stars. Definitely give the happy hour a try. It's good.

I've been here twice, both times I received terrible service. It took 30 minutes to get my first DRINK! The food is not even good and the waiter I dealt with was shady.

Bar Louie is Gorgeous! The atmosphere is trendy and fun. Besides the fact it was 100 degrees in there, I loved it! They have $5 drink specials before 7pm. And they are delicious! My friend told me the po'boy was to die for. Sold! Coming back as soon as I visit VA again. Great Shots- Baby Guinness (coffee shot) Fireball - (like the candy)

Went here for a late lunch (around 2pm on a Saturday) and I guess I should've heeded the other reviews about service. Besides our table (for 2), our waitress only had 2 other tables, each with only 2 people, and she still could not get her stuff together. At least on this occassion, it is a "seat yourself" kind of place, though the sign stating that is left outside and we didn't even see it until we left. We waited probably 5-7 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge us and take our drink order (2 waters, 2 mixed drinks). She left to put that in and returned about 5 minutes later to take our order.... but with no drinks in hand. :/ Seriously? Not even the waters? We both ordered cheeseburgers, mine medium, his medium well, with fries. Pretty simple. Drinks finally came out and they were alright, though as I came to discover once the bill came, quite pricey. $9 for my martini and $7.50 for the rum and coke which seems exhorbant, especially for 2 in the afternoon. We weren't at a nightclub, or a fancy restaurant, so I don't expect to pay those kind of prices. Menu, by the way, was pretty limited. Mostly just bar fare and nothing on there really caught my fancy (ie, why we both got burgers). Luckily for them I was starving because otherwise I wouldn't have even eaten the burger that came out. It was so well overdone I could barely eat it. My husband's was the same, but since he has always eaten his well-done, it really didn't bother him as much. We asked for mustard which took (not joking) nearly 10 minutes to bring out. My husband was pretty much done eating by that point. She didn't bother to refill our waters, but she DID offer to get us another round. Go figure. Another wait for the check, and wonders why I was sitting there with my credit card already out and ready to go. Would not eat there again, tho we may check out the nightlife and see how that is.

There's a good mix of people here. That's what I love. Also, the layout; it's so spacious, even when it's pretty packed. I haven't tried the food. There's a bartender that makes an Oatmeal Cookie taste like a Whiskey Sour. They were extremely adamant that I didn't receive the wrong drink, too. Ridiculousness.

The aesthetics and bar tenders are great. I had the Voodoo Chicken which was ok. The food took forever to come out of the Kitchen but the bartenders were really apologetic about the wait. I will come again but more for drinks than the food.

This place use to be a 4/5. Service is absolutely terrible now. Months ago I use to come here a lot when the bartenders were friendly & service was always on point. Yesterday I came here & it took about 8 minutes for anybody to notice us ( may I add there was barely anybody in the bar area. 10 at most) after we got our beers it took about another 10 minutes for anyone to notice us to put in our food order. The food took forever to come out probably over 20 minutes and it didn't come out til I asked a new bartender where our food was. (Our old bartender left and didn't say anything) when our food came out both our orders was put in wrong. We ate as quickly as possible and left. Really don't plan on returning anymore...

Great location, but ok food and so-so service. I actually left last time because I sat out on the patio and waited 20 minutes without being served...none of the servers even stopped to ask us about drinks or to tell us someone would be with us! On another visit, it took them almost 30 minutes to get me my burger during lunch (they weren't busy at all). My waitress was nice, just MIA a lot. I think if I want a burger in the future, I'll go to 5 Guys around the corner.

Great place to hang out; the staff is very friendly and hip. I enjoy my dining experience here. The only complaint I have is that on slower nights, they tend to raise the TV volume creating a theatre-like atmosphere; therefore making it hard if you are on a date or a ladies night out. It does get so loud at times, it is not a place for any intimate type scenarios. This place gives me the feel of a real bar; loud, fun, great food. Price is reasonable for its location (a bit steep but doable), but this isnt a concern when you get your plate of food; their portion sizes are out of this world! HUGE! I bought fish and chip. Thinking I was going to get a small dish, I ended up sharing my plate with 2 other people at the table. :) Portion = BIG! During weekend hours, the place gets really packed to the point where you cant move around or not enough seating. They do have a patio/outside sitting but with winter on its way, that isnt a suiteable place to hang. Waitstaff is great but slow during busy nights; once, I had to wait over 30 minutes before I got my check and another 40 mins waiting for the waiter to come back with my card; the good news is...I was mingling with friends that I lost track of time but I was a bit bummed when it took so long because I had to be somewhere at a certain time and missed that. OVerall, I am a fan of this place; great for outings, groups, ladies night out, coworkers gathering etc. It's the new kid on the block...everyone wants to go there.

So I've been here 5 times in the last 7 months. I've come with colleagues, friends and on dates. The environment is suitable for any of these type of gatherings. There is ample seating and for almost any comfort level. Small sofa chairs with table, semi circle booths, high rise table and chairs or seating at the bar. There are many televisions all around so if you want to watch a game it almost doesn't matter where you sit. On my first visit there was live music which was interesting and enjoyable. Two out of the five times I came to watch the NBA finals. Bar Louie was a great environment to do that! Excited Fans were all around, not as many rooting for Miami but that is ok, I was and they won! Tuesdays are burger days, any burger is 5 dollars and you can make your patty chicken, ground beef, turkey, veggie or portabello mushroom with no up charge at least from my experience which I think is cool. Weekdays 4-7 involve drink and appy specials which are great as well. As for food, I've tried their Louie Sangria, White Wine Sangria, Southwest burger, chicken cheese burger, blackberry orange and brie salad and mac and cheese. Their burgers come with a variety of options some requiring an up charge of 1 dollar which is fine by me ill pay an extra dollar if i can switch my tots to my guilty pleasure, mac and cheese, any day. The standard item however I believe is tater tots. My favorite item so far was the blackberry, orange and brie salad. Which is what I had on my first visit with a glass of white wine. It was arranged nicely and tasted great. The only thing I would change is that I would increase the amount of brie! I like my wine chilled and i feel that it was so I enjoyed that as well. On my second visit it was the southwest burger with tots. It was huge and was easily broken down into 2-3 meals for myself. The meat well well done and had that flame broiled taste that I love. The tots were at their perfect crispiness. Easily a favorite of mine. On my third visit I don't remember what i ordered. I just remember the presence of tots. The tots were definitely of poor quality this time. They tasted freezer burned and soft not crispy, like they were old and made in the microwave and then fried for a few moments. I'm not saying that is what they did just that is what they tasted like. This particular day was the last game of the NBA finals and i feel that maybe the restaurant was overwhelmed. My table at large didnt enjoy the food that day and the service was the worst I've ever had. The waiter barely came back and food took over an hour to find its way from the kitchen to our table. The service at bar louie is generally subpar but this was not acceptable. On my fourth visit we ordered a pitcher of white wine sangria and i tell you IT WAS THE BEST WHITE WINE SANGRIA THE BOTH OF US GIRLS HAD EVER CONSUMED. On this day I tried mac and cheese along with my blackberry orange and brie salad. The mac and cheese wasn't anything special but the salad was just as good as i remembered it. The fifth visit my girlfriend and i returned feigning for that white wine sangria. This time it was subpar. Too much ice and similar to the mediocre sangria of any run of the mill joint. Disappointed we decided the try the Louie Sangria, maybe that would be better. We asked for less ice this time. It was one of the better red wine sangrias Ive tried but nothing special either. I had a chicken cheese burger that day with fries. It was your average meal. Nothing to call home about. As for price. Id say they are reasonable except for the Sangria which I thought was worth its $18 when it was THE BEST SANGRIA I HAD EVER CONSUMED but not so much when it was mediocre and piled with ice. In summary, the largest flaw at this particular Bar Louie is its service. Its simply poor. However, The environment is suitable to groups of any kind, dates with your closest friend or even someone you'd like to be a little closer too. Game time is lively. Food is for the most part quite good as are drinks. Overall a solid 3. Note: Most recent visit, met waiter Shawn (I hope I'm spelling his name the way I am supposed to). He provided excellent service. However, the White Wine Sangria on this particular visit was awful. Too much sugar and NO FRUIT (except for the cherries we asked for). NOT COOL BAR LOUIE.

It was a long dark rainy Tuesday .. After a long day of moving, me and my cohorts were in the mood for some burgers. What do you know ? 5dollar burger day at Bar Louie! Challenge accepted. After a longer than normal wait the waitress comes over and asks if we'd been helped. We order burgers and was then asked "how would you liked it cooked?" But immediately following that question she informed us we could only request our burgers 'medium well' or 'well done'. Ummmmm ok? .. I guess a medium well burger following a pile of stale chips covered in movie theatre cheese and cubed chicken so dry that it could work part-time masquerading as 'jerky' wouldn't be so bad right ? WRONG! The burgers arrived and were so dry .. It was like biting into a Mitch Hedberg punch line but not as funny . The burger being as thick as it was, it's safe to assume the chef had to have been flipping them while reading chapters of War And Peace. I think at one point a hand came out of my burger and grabbed a sip from my glass of water. As we mapped out our plans of how our week would be spent while digesting this hockey puck that has now taken our stomachs hostage my friends Arnold Palmer showed .. The waitress said they had to brew tea after we had already waited . Bill was paid. My BFF then says : "quick lets get out of here before they try to serve us more shitty food". Best Night Ever.

Like many bar/restaurants, your experience at Bar Louie really depends on when you visit. The location is great. The seating and atmosphere are fantastic -- lots of tall tables and large half-circle booths, a section with lounge seating around low tables, low lighting, a large central bar. And from my one experience ordering food (chicken nachos), the food is served fresh after being cooked and absolutely delicious! That visit (when I ordered nachos) was delightful, and my friend and I lingered for about two hours, chatting and not feeling rushed by our waitress ... but it was also 4 in the afternoon and business was slow. On another evening, I came at about 9:30 on a Saturday to watch a friend's local band play a set, and it was slammed. A waitress didn't visit our table until about 30 minutes after our arrival and by then my group had visited the bar for drinks. But the drinks were good (reasonably potent and moderately priced) and the vibe (for a late night out) was great! I definitely enjoyed Bar Louie!

It's got a ton of potential...even for a chain. Drink menu is great. Food tastes good when the cooks care to put any effort into it. Service is mediocre at best. I'm always disappointed for how good it could be.

Bar Louie leaves much to be desired. I've gone here 3 times, first visit the most enjoyable. Drinks are a bit pricey and just ok, food was eh, nothing to write home about and the service is poor. Inattentive waitstaff have cut my second and third trips here short. My husband and I waited about 20-30 minutes to place our drink orders another 20 to get them, so we've been there nearly an hour and our server is nowhere to be found. We would have stayed longer and ordered food but the service was just too poor. Thinking maybe this was an off day we returned for lunch during the week. We were the only people in the restaurant and about 4 servers milling about. We seatee ourselves as per the sign. First table we chose was filthy so we moved to another table all the while servers are walking by however we've yet to be greeted let alone served. After about 10 minutes I conclude that Bar Louie didn't want my money so we left. Bottom line ok drinks, ok food and really poor service. Three strikes and you're out. I won't be returning With all of the BAD reviews Bar Louie has you would think ownership/management would get their acts together!

Unfortunately they dont serve steaks and some other entrées,but the atmosphere is great, the drinks, and it is quite popular especially with the ladies. I don't frequent Bar Louie that often, nonetheless it is still a great social hangout for a weekend night, especially a Friday. And the fact that it's in the Peninsula Town Center makes it that much more desirable.

When Bar Louie first opened the line was out the door and I was eager to partake in the experience. However I was slightly disappointed when dining for the first time. The young server greeted me by saying, "What up ma? What can I get for you?" Although posed as a question, it was a little too familiar. In fact, many of the servers appeared fairly young and could be found next to the touch screen register checking their cell phones instead of engaging with the customers. The food is pretty decent and the drinks are good (Lemon drop!) It's open seating so typically there's no wait and their back patio is really nice. Bar Louie is known more for mingling and happy hour than for a exquisite dining experience so know what you're getting into before making plans to go there. This isn't a bad thing; just know you'll be out of place of you show up on Fri at 7 pm with your 10 year old. Lastly, I will add when I visited at 1 am on a Sat and sat at the bar I received excellent service. Tipped the bartender $20 on a $30 check. However, your experience may vary.

ONE star is giving this place too much credit. We arrived with only a few other tables in the place, and patiently waited, and waited, and waited. The restaurant began to fill up, we waited 30 minutes before being greeted, the table next to us who arrived after was taken care of first. After placing our DRINK order, we waited 25 minutes to get the drinks, and another 40 minutes to have our order taken. I had to beg her to come take our order. We waited 40 minutes to get the food, appetizers coming out with our meals and I had to go to the bar for a drink as well as the waters we asked for 3 different times. Waited 20 more minutes for the checks, all split up incorrectly. The server had an attitude, and wouldn't bring me a box (which I asked for 3 times as well) until we paid our checks (they were lucky we didn't walk out 20 minutes before all that) Then they added an 18% gratuity!!! No wonder she NEVER APOLOGIZED OR EVEN SO MUCH AS CHECKED ON US!!! The food was over priced and pretty subpar. My fellow diner said she'd just go to the bar for a box, at which point the server lied and said they didn't have any. We were in town for a concert and Bar Louie had signs welcoming concert goers, yet for a restaurant with about 50 tables they supposedly had 2, yes, 2 servers. And lets not leave out the gum chomping, greasy haired, sloppy space cadet who was aimlessly wandering throughout the place delivering drinks to the wrong tables. I work in the business and it takes A LOT to upset me, this was BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. Save yourself the headache and hit up EL AZETCA!! Food was great, service was good, and the price was right!! Not to mention they feed the local ducks with the leftover tortilla chips!!

Wednesday 11am-9pm $3 drafts/$5 martinis, happy hour mon-fri 4-7 pm. Great food, attentive and friendly staff, very nice bar set up. They have a nice selection of liquor drinks( its a martini bar, but caters to the beer drinker as well). As far as food goes, try the Luigi sandwich, like a philly but better.

A friend and I visited Bar Louie during Happy Hour. Pros: We were seated quickly. The décor is very comfortable. We felt special in the stylish booths. The Happy Hour menu was extensive and affordable. Between us, we had a specialty Philly Steak Burger with fries, a vegetable flatbread, and a sweet tea for $15.00! Cons: The volume of the music made talking difficult. The service was friendly but slow. The wrong flatbread came to the table. Once we were able to flag down the waitress, it was taken back and a correct one was made. Unfortunately, it took so long that my friend had finished eating her meal by the time my flatbread came. When the bill came, we were charged for both flatbreads. The waitress corrected it. It seems communication between staff could be better.

This bar by far is the best "simple" dining experience in Peninsula Town Ctr. The food is great, the drinks are scrumptious, the staff are very attentive and accommodating and the prices are reasonable. There is not a dish that I've ordered from Bar Louie's that wasn't to brag about. I highly recommend this establishment for great food and fun!!

It's a great night! My party ventured to this restaurant last Friday. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and the awesome martini's. The honeydew and Grand Lemon Drop martini's yum yum. Happy hour is from 4-7. Some appetizers are half off, while martini's are $5 and drafts are at a discounted price as well. However...My first drink was superb, but # 2 and #3 were half full and I was very disappointed. When I told the waitress about it she said there was nothing she could do and the bartender would just add carbonated water...huh??? I also order the salmon with a side of broccoli. I recvd the salmon first and did not receive the broccoli until I had one fork full of salmon left. Of course that was unacceptable. I asked to speak with a manger... AJ MJ something J...she listened to my concerns and apologized. It was only right to voice my concerns because this was my first visit. The manager made sure I recvd a Grand Lemon Drop martini to perfection...and it was! I would only recommend this place for the drinks only. I suggest you eat elsewhere before or after. But definitely get there for happy hour...love love love the drinks!

$5 burger Tuesdays are nice, but there's NO reason you can't get the burger cooked how you want. They just serve them all well-done, which doesn't do them justice. Simple as the waiter saying to the chef, "hey man, take that patty off a minute earlier."

This place has a great decor and atmosphere but the service is beyond garbage. The bartender was too busy walking by us several times to take a drink order even though our drinks were empty for a good 20 mminutes. Service was weak and the prices aren't good enough to justify it. Go elsewhere if you value your time and money.

Best food service I ever received at a Bar! (Angelina is a phenomenal server) The manager came to the table personally on several occasions, and the food? Delectable. I have the California Chicken Sandwich with a side of broccoli, and the portions were so generous I had to take half home. That did not however prevent me from having the Whiskey Cake (which tastes like THE best stack of pancakes you've ever had in your life). My friend had two mojitos which were made to perfection (not over muddled with too much mint), and had the Voodoo Chicken and the sauce was amazing. Highly recommend this for a fun night on the town. The Cinebistro along with the bowling alley is right next door. Will definately be eating here more often.

Went for a girls night at Happy Hour. Drinks were good and food was good. But service was horrible!! Waited an hour for our food and it wasn't even crowded yet. Then they mixed up the order. Some people at the table didn't even get their food. Waitress didn't refill our drinks. We were there for 3.5 hours and every 20 min someone was bringing drinks or food to our table that we didn't order. Spoke with the manager about being charged for food we didn't get and he acted like he didn't want to take it off. Service sucks but if you want good drinks sit at the bar. I will never go there again.

Had a date night with my husband here tonight, and have to say I was disappointed. Our waitress was very nice, but it was clear that the kitchen and the bar did not have their act together. We ordered the calamari from the Happy Hour menu and 10 mins later our waitress returned to tell us they were out of calamari. We ordered the meatballs and the spinach & artichoke dip. Both were just ok. I was happy I got there early enough to order my 3 glasses of wine during Happy Hour for half price, because the glasses were only1/2 full. Service was slow for food and drinks, luckily we were not in a hurry. Our waitress comped us the first round of our drinks without us even asking, which was nice. Not sure if we will go back. The first time we went was awesome, but that was just after it opened.

The Vodka Martini's were undrinkable. We ordered Grey Goose Martini's and I know my vodka, and I know that I got Tito's or some other crap. The waitress was rude. I'll never come here again.

We went for the live band only to find out they no longer have performers. There was a 30 min rush of a fun adult atmosphere then it all fell silent and bare. Half through my chicken quesadillas I discovered a hair or thread in my food. My waitress took it off the bill but it was yet another reason we should have went somewhere else. The "Effn Good" martini is pretty eff good tho!

It's about as much of a bar as Virginia will allow. They have happy hour from 5-7, Mon-Fri which means beer is $3 (in a slightly smaller glass), wine is $4 a glass, and martinis are $5. Select appetizers are also half off (the boneless wings and quesadillas are good). Other than happy hour I probably wouldn't come here. The service can be slow and the vibe isn't great. They do put top shelf liquor in their martinis, so if you're into that it's a good value...plus not too many places around here have a hh on Friday.

Good drinks and good service most of the time. When it's busy the bartenders can be a little harried. The food is good. I like tots as an option with a meal. Way staff are fun and efficient. This place is my favorite at town center.

do NOT do the restaurant week "deal"here. they make it seem like it's a two for twenty deal, really you get 20 a piece meal.. they don't know how to explain after you try and clarify if is twenty a piece or two for twenty.. and food is never with it.. I don't that I've ever had an attentive server or one that smiles..chicken looks like no bigger than the nail bed of you're thumb.. flat breads are dry and terrible.. their chicken breast dish was just a blaned with not fully cooked rice, and salads are drenched in dressing..i didn't realize you could mess up a salad? for the price, not worth the food.. drinks were good, until 7 when happy hour ends however cocktails are never worth the price or on special

To those complaining about coming in and waiting and never being greeted or sat.. IT'S SEAT YOURSELF. which I prefer because when it's slow like when we got there you can sit where you're comfortable instead of where hostess decides to put you. We were greeted by our waitress quickly. She was very helpful in helping us pick our martinis which were a great deal during happy hour. The bar was out of what they needed for some drinks, but it's not a huge deal unless you're just dying for whatever it is they were out of, which we weren't. We split thr chips trio and bruschetta and I got a burger with Mac and cheese instead of fries. I thought everything was great. I ordered the burger WD and it came WD. My friend and I both really liked the atmosphere. I'll be returning for sure.

Glad to have this place! Hip interior, great food, awesome cocktails and a good selection of domestic and import beer. Service is better at the bar which is common for places like this. Do go, bring your friend's.

It's hit or miss on both service and food. Having been probably a half dozen times three of those times were four star and three were two or less. When it's good the food is worth the price, when it's not. You get plastic wrappers in your food. When services is good you get a refill, when it's not you don't get waited on for twenty minutes.

Tuesday night burger night is where it's at! Can't beat $5 burgers! I like the atmosphere and the drinks are amazing. S'mores Martinis are delicious and the staff is friendly.but forgetful and slow. No biggie still worth the weekly visits!

This review is just for their outside patio. While we still have a few weeks left of decent weather I highly recommend you stop in with a group of friends and hang out at this bar. They have sleek looking high top chairs and a bonfire like area that is good for up to 15 people to hang out. My vodka and OJ drink was pretty strong so if this is typically the case then you should expect a good time after slingin' down a few drinks. They serve your your typical bar food so don't expect the world. Go to enjoy the atmosphere. It's a much cooler spot at night and it was a Wednesday so I know the weekends have to be poppin'..

I moved here from NY and was accustomed to getting a good martini, but was consistently disappointed with a lot of places here in VA but finally discovered a bar/restaurant that got it right. I love the "rat pack" martini. Great place to go for a good martini!!!

We came in wanting food and drinks before the concert tonight. We waited 35 min for drinks and then 1:15 min for food. Came out dry and over cooked. We then ordered 6 shots another 30 min went by. We then grabbed the manager and she told be it was because she was busy. You know this is a huge country concert across the street why wouldn't you staff your bar. 1 deep at the bar and 6 bartenders. Horrible experience. Starfish disappointed.

I've been to Bar Louie a couple of times, and the only thing keeping it from being 2 stars is their Burger Nights ($5 dollar burgers) on Tuesday's. The few times that I've been here that have NOT been a Burger Night were awful. The place always seems fairly empty. And even though they're not that many tables around, service always seems fairly terrible. It takes them forever to come around to take orders and bring out food/drinks. And that being said, the food is very very average. The Italian beef flat bread was extremely greasy, to the point where it was kind of disgusting. Their salsa is doesn't have too much flavor, it's just meh. They have $5 martini's during happy hour. Some are better than other, but I haven't found one that I love. Burger Night however, is much much better. I only come here on Tuesday nights now. Their better servers are usually working. and the burgers are surprisingly really really good. The Bar Louie burger with a fried egg is my favorite. It's a decent size and delicious. I usually get tater tots as my side. You can't go wrong with some tots. so long story short: Go only for $5 burger nights. Service and food on every other night is below average.

Met a friend who lives in Yorktown (I'm in Va Beach) halfway here after work for light dinner and talking on Wednesday night and had a good time. We sat at a spacious booth for about two hours. When we arrived at around 5:25pm it was fairly empty - it did get slightly more full but only about 40% I'd say and mostly at the bar and bar top tables by the time we left at around 8:15. They have a lot of casual bar seating and number of very large booths available. They have some happy hour flatbread and appetizer specials served until 6-7pm I think and have a pretty good food selection on the menu. My friend ordered a flat bread that looked pretty good and I ordered a salad which was sub par... next time I may try a burger. The bathrooms were very large and clean and classy. Overall I was pretty impressed with this place.

Great hybrid of a sports bar with some gourmet food option. I like that the place is somewhat quiet even with all of the TVs during a football game. There are good martini options and the strawberry lemonade sangria is delicious. I lucked out by ordering the pear, pig n fig flatbread and that was amazing! Hubby got the rib sliders and they were great, too. We're definitely coming back!

I've been served at BL on several occasions, and can say that this location is actually better than I expected it would be, since opening. The Good: Excellent Hampton Location Helpful Staff Clean Building Eye Candy Potential Live Band Play The Bad: Very Average to Below Avg Food Menu Potential for Slow Service (If you're very hungry or thirsty) Potential Loud Band Play:) After two successive visits...terrible ticket times. I recommend giving this location a try. 2.5 Stars... A good bar, ranking high for the area...

Went here for Paint Nite. While the waitress was attentative and the drinks looked appealing. Food is jacked. $9.00 for a plate of hummus!? And don't even think of getting the rice and beans if you don't eat meat cause it's made with beef stock and no they can't/won't take it out. The $4.00 salad was ok. Was not offered water or anything to drink. The waitress kept my change and vanished. Will not be going back ever!

Bar louie, you're A-ok. Ambiance : It has a very local, generic yet communal ambiance. A girl could take out a nice dress, her pumps and stroll in here, or throw on her 'fat day' jeans with a t-shirt, and not feel left out. If i had to bring someone out on a date, id definitely do it here. Bar louie has a relaxing feel. It has a huge center bar, was clean and tons of TVs playing various sports channels. I think ere are also pool tables ( but maybe im confusing it ?) Pros: My buddy and i decided to hit up bar louie on a tuesday night when it was 1/2 off burgers. Their burgers were awesome! I got the turkey louie and friend got a chicken cheese burger. Both were made fresh, tasted great and most important part ( acc to my date).. ample cheese! Fries on the side- also fresh and yummy! Sangrias were about $18 per pitcher and burgers was 5$. Cons: I did not like their sangria as much. We got a pitcher of the red and white. TOO much ice!!. I know maybe theyre trying to cut corners (?) or maybe the one who made it didnt do a good job. But my first visit to bar louie ( in july i think?), my buddy and i got this white sangria and it was OFF THE HOOK, best sangria ever! Quality was not upto par this trip. I think 18$/pitcher was a bit steep.. but the 5$ burger off set it a little and made the bill less painful. Also, service is almost non existant. While our server was very nice, she was CLEARLY overworked and scattered. Barely came to check up on us, and i could see why. Both the times ive visited, service has been this way. Ill definltey return. Happy hour on certain drinks is from 4-7pm weekdays (?) and i think for then, it will be worth it, also on tuesday for burger nights! I highly recomend this place over park lane ( on the same strip with their overpriced food)

came to meet a friend during Happy Hour. Interior was nicer than I expected, bar area was nice and clean. Bartenders were great, attentive and checking up on us at good intervals. Have to give a special shoutout to the male bartender there, can't recall his name...believe it's Stephen? Kind of saved me from an uncomfortable small talk with the man sitting a few seats from me. Ordered and shared the chicken nachos, a bit on the salty side but nice complement to the sweet cocktails. Liked that they update the bar tab as you order so you know how much you'll be spending haha Would come again if I'm in the Hampton area.

The bartender took forever to get my drink and then returned my debit card to the wrong person after opening my tab! While trying to resolve the situation, I found fraudulent charges being made and had to call my bank to cancel my card. Instead of a helpful response or even an apology, I received indignant, insistent replies, "I gave you your card back. You have it. I put it right there. Check your wallet." I will never be returning. Stay away.

My friend and I came here after leaving an excruciatingly boring adult birthday party. We hoped to liven our spirits by going to a nearby club but our attire wasn't appropriate, so we headed to Bar Louie. Upon entering the bar, we were asked to show ID. I thought that was cute. I'm 40 years old. lol The atmosphere here seemed to be pretty hip. We loved the decor. We decided to sit at the bar. It took about five minutes for a bartender to greet us. It took about 20 minutes to get our food. After we finished our meal, we made several attempts to get the attention of our bartender to make our payment. We sat around for a while after eating trying to figure out why we hadn't been approached by our bartender. We attempted waving down another bartender who glanced at us then looked away and walked in the opposite direction. I thought to myself, "Wow. How rude!" We eventually got the attention of our bartender, paid for our food and left. We were both pleased with our food and I'm certain we will return but I'm hoping that we will receive better service.

Came here before a movie date since it's right across the movie theater. I have been to BL before in Richmond, so I suggested to my boyfriend that we try it out. There was no hostess to seat us as there was a sign saying to sit anywhere. After sitting at tables that I realized had not been cleaned off so well, we chose a high top table by the bar. We sat down and it took some time for a waitress to greet us and start our orders. We both got drinks - a strawberry lemonade sangria for me and a Sam Adams seasonal beer for the boyfriend. The bar screwed up my order and had given me what looked like a regular sangria. I didn't realize it when I took a little sip, but the waitress took it back and got me the right drink. My drink was delicious and refreshing - reminded me of a spiked Red Robin Strawberry Lemonade. For our food, we just got some appetizers since we were not too hungry. I got the bruschetta and he got the shrimp tempura. Both portions were big. The bruschetta was great. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't served with a spoon since you have to scoop the the tomatoes, cheese, basil, etc on to your bread, but I just used the fork that I had handy. We did run out of bread and had plenty of filling left over, but the waitress was able to get us more bread. The boyfriend enjoyed his shrimp as it came with 3 different dips: something full of herbs, buffalo sauce, tangy sauce. Service from our waitress was pretty slow. It was slow for her to start off to getting us our check. I'm glad we didn't get charged for getting the extra bread, at least. There was a manager wandering around to ask if everything was okay, but besides that just lackluster service which was pretty evident with the tables around us not being so clean. Yeah, this location could use some work. Other stuff: -Patio area available on a nice day -Kitchen serves late

Enjoyed Bar Louis for the first time this weekend and it was an interesting experience. This elegant looking bar is in the Peninsula Town Center (PTC). The environment is cozy with a moderate decor about the place. A large bar, plenty of seating and the lighting is just right. The Drinks have to be the best thing about this bar. I had a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. It was excellent! The martini was made with Effin Ultra Premium Vodka, filled to the rim, with three nice size olives. The price was not listed on the menu but it I think it was reasonably priced when I got my check. The Food: Now keep in mind this is a bar, however when you enter this place, you would expect a better menu selection. They have wraps, burger, salads a nice variety of appetizers and a few dinner items. NO STEAKS, which I was a little disappointed about because that is what I wanted. I had the VooDoo chicken instead with rice and peppers. The dinner was overloaded with the Voodoo sauce and was not really warm. The rice was good and the papers were crunchy. I proably won't order this next time I'm there. Overall this is a great place for drinks and bar food. Price is reasonable and the service was GREAT (I forgot to mention that). They have a bomb-fire on the back porch and the environment out there is nice. So if you ever at PTC in Hampton, check out Bar Louie.

The live music was really strange... To a point of annoying. The guys voice wasn't audible but the instrument noise level made it hard to have a conversation. Was not impressed with the martinis, but the fried-egg "Louis" burger was on point.

My boyfriend and I were in town center waiting to catch a movie at Cinebistro so we decided to grab dinner here. I had been to Bar Louie for lunch before, years ago when they first opened but hadn't been back since. The atmosphere was nice, with comfortable seating. I thought it was kind of strange that it was practically empty on a Saturday night at 8:00, but we were about to find out why. Our waitress was friendly. She took our drink orders and politely waited for us to decide what we wanted to eat. My boyfriend ordered a salad and I ordered a cup of soup, to eat while waiting on our entrees. We didn't receive them until our food came out which was frustrating. The tortilla soup was disgusting. The tortillas were soggy and the rest was pretty much onions in tomato juice. I ordered their $13 version of a philly cheese steak and had to pay an extra dollar for cheese. The sandwich was dry and had no cheese on it and I pointed that out to the waitress and she tried to tell me it was on there (it definitely wasn't). My boyfriends burger was fine though. In my opinion, the food is overpriced and mediocre at best. The menu doesn't have very many options. Bottom line, for the price and the food selection/quality, I will not be returning.

I have to admit this place isn't my first choice for happy hour or even for a Friday night out. But it is a good back up. Although if you're looking for cheap drinks I wouldn't advise you to go here. A martini is $9 And a tall Stella is close to $7 I do enjoy their tots appetizer. The chicken flat bread is good too Service is fine Never had a problem. Seat yourself if you find an open table.

I went to have a few drinks with a friend. They were great. I had the Strawberry Peach Bellini Martini which had fresh strawberries in it., also the Grand Lemon Drop was made to perfection! I wil return during Happy Hour when drinks and apps are 1/2 the price.

Been to this Bar Louie location a few times before and many others in the DMV area. It was a Saturday night and they were hit by a huge crowd towards the end of the night. The wait for drinks and food was longer than normal. Martini's were tasty and veggie flatbread was great. My issue was with the rude security guards rushing us to finish our drinks at the end. Yes, I know it closes at 2 but if I haven't settled my bill, then I have the right to finish my drink. Security guards were downright rude. Lying about the VA state liquor board was there checking if humans were consuming liquor after 2. Please. He sat there as I gulped down my martini and being a jerk. It made me mad and I suggest you go elsewhere for late night cocktails. Waitress was apologetic but these security guards are no good.

Came here for the first time with my boyfriend and needless to say, I have been to better restaurants. First, the waitress took a while to even acknowledge us. This is understandable because she was the only waitress on the floor. It seemed as if the place was going to close, but it was only 11pm. The menu wasn't too diverse, so I ended up getting potstickers and a burger. Burger was well cooked, but I don't think I would ever get the potstickers from here again. This place is more of a bar than a restaurant, but drinks are wayyy too expensive. I also noticed I was charged a "City Fee" which was something that I've never seen before. The next and last time I will come here is to get my free appetizer.

Notice: I'm not writing this review on their food, but only for their late night drinks and service. A BAR. What is a bar? A place where you can order your alcoholic poison of choice and hangout with friends and good people. Maybe, possibly, meet new people and have a solid conversation with. What is a Bar Louie: Loud, absolutely zero service from the 20 staff that constantly walks about pretending they are busy, with vultures constantly circling you with their drunk stares. If and when you do manage to get a drink at your table, itll be another hour or so before they ever check on you. So, tip, grab your check with your drink order. Prices for their mixed cocktails are not shown, why? because its a "Surprise!" when you get your tab. It's a dollar or so more than your average price, but woah what the hell is up with this extra CDA tax? I wont fault them for that, since apparently it's the Peninsula Town Center (separate from Hampton City) Tax. Skimming just a tad bit more from your bleeding wallets. Go if you must, but don't if you have options.

Came here with a few friends for lunch. While we were placing our order the waitress walked away from us as if she had something more important to do. We had to ask her to come back so we could finish out order. Not one time did she stop by to refill our drinks without us asking her to do so. Then we get our food and surprise surprise our order was incorrect. My food didn't come with a side salad, my friends burger wasn't cooked medium rear like she asked for. It was actually well done. Our waitresses attitude was like she didn't even care that we were there. Horrible customer service. I will not be coming back here ever.

Stopped in to have dinner with my wife and the place was slow, ordered and the food took a little longer than necessary but no big deal. The bread on my sandwich was stale and and crumbly to point you couldn't eat it. The waitress response was it must of been because it was toasted (I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference). Well after we complained we didn't hear from our waitress again until we chased her down for the check. She seemed to be covering all of the tables and making drinks, while I saw three others standing around talking with each other. Bad food, bad management, bad experience. Bar Rescue where are you? It's really to bad cause it takes a lot to only get one star.

My boyfriend and I went here on a Friday night and when we found our seat the server came to wipe down the table and never came back to take our orders. She left her cleaner squirt bottle on our table. We waited for about 30 minutes and nobody showed up. Mind you, servers kept walking by and blatantly avoided eye contact with us. We decided to go to the bar where our service wasn't anything to rave about. The food was good though and the live music was nice. Very disappointed with the customer service though. NOT GOING BACK.

Awesome spot! We went Friday night and there was live music. The Peninsula Town Center is so fun and it is smack dab in the middle. I love the tots with queso. The drinks are also good especially the strawberry lemonade sangria. Lots of options here! Bring a big group!

This particular night was crowded because of a comedy show. So the service was very slow. On a normal night this a descent shoot to hang. During the school year the crowd is a little young but the food is good.

Not sure what everyone is complaining about, I had pretty good service here, especially for a night that was rather busy. Food and drinks were both decent as well.

I really enjoy this place the first time I went there I met an associate there for evening cocktails the environment was nice friendly not full of young people really enjoyed it. It was kind of funny because we went on a match.com day unbeknownst to us. So we were being nosey watching who was going to hook up and who wasn't it, quite amusing.

This was one of the coolest bars I've ever visited. Copious amount of seating, hustle and bustle of people. It was a great atmosphere for a late night hang with friends. Great location, and the decor was pretty fitting. The staff were great as well when they actually came to our table. That's where the three stars rolls in: we waited probably 15 minutes for someone to come to our table at all, and they weren't particularly busy. Our waitress was great, no doubt; just took a little longer than it should have. Now onto the food: definitely bar food. It wasn't exceptional, just what you'd expect at a bar. I got the barbecue burger with cheddar, bacon, now sauce, onion strings and blue cheese crumbles. Safe to say it was a good burger, but just good. They only offered medium well to well done patties, and I usually like a little pink in mine so I'm not eating leather. While I got mine medium well, it wasn't horrible, just...good. Even so, id love to come back and give the place a second chance on another menu item. Check it out if you've got some time while in Hampton.

Dude, when this place first opened up it was packed! Nowadays, it'll fill up but I'm sure lots of people have given up on this place and just go to Park Lane instead. I really, really wanted to like this place because it seemed like it'd be a nice classy place but how naive I was. It's in PTC so yeah, they attract a diverse crowd, but I feel it attracts too many rowdy college kids at times. I've been here 3 times I think and was never satisfied with the food nor drinks. The times I've been have always been during the late evening hours ( anything after 7pm is late to me, I'm an old lady :x). And in the beginning it did pack up with people but lately its been pretty much steady. The tables tend to be dirty and the service has been slow all three times I went. The food, while they do have a decent amount of selections are just lackluster in design and presentation. Drinks are a hit or miss, I've had some good margaritas and then bad Mason Dixon's. Even the service from the waiters is unremarkable. The first time we came in we were totally ignored. The second time we were attended to but had super slow service on an average day. This last time I went will be be the last time I ever go because I've given Bar Louie too many chances again we sat ourselves and a waiter didn't come after almost 10 minutes and it wasn't even busy. I've ordered a handful of salads and they used a lot of canned fruit as garnishes, like a soggy bear for my blue cheese salad, gross. I added a portabella steak as an add on and it tasted watery and oily at the same time. The quesadillas are very thin and have little cheese fillings, its more tortilla than filling. Overall, I could go on about my bad experiences with the food, drink and service as well as the old creepers that this place draws but I don't want my review to become an annoying rant. Just skip this classless place and go to Park Lane around the corner for a better experience.

[Nothing like writing this twice...] The XYL and I attended a Yelp UYE lunch here with Fearless Leader today, for the Coliseum Central Restaurant Week event, and we had a wonderful time. Arrived early. Bar Louie is well lit, and laid out with plenty of floor space. It was kinda/sorta empty when we got here, but I am told it gets to be elbow to elbow, when it gets busy. With it being restaurant Week, we were offered a decent selection of lunch specials. I ordered the California Chicken Club (sans bacon). It was served on 2 thick slices of multi-grain bread, with the edges covered with a wide assortment of grains. The bread was toasted, like a grill cheese bread, yet it was not oily. Served with grilled chicken breast, lettuce and tomato, a hint of mayo, avocado slices (and bacon). The salad was very good. Although the mixture items (tomato, cucumbers) were finely diced, which made getting them to stay on your fork problematic. The sammich was excellent. A nice mixture of tastes on some very good bread. The seasoned fries were cooked crisp, and were hot when served. Our server was attentive, and kept our glasses filled and our needs taken care of. The dining area was clean, and orderly. Bar Louie offers a Military discount. It does not offer a Senior Discount. There is a large sign at the entrance stating that Firearms are not allowed there. I was apprehensive. Maybe I read too much into the 'bar' part of Bar Louie, and my expectations of the food were not that high. I was genuinely surprised. Our meals were excellent. Our service attentive. With Bar Louie being in the Peninsula Town Center complex, you have to pay the extra PTC tax rate there. It is, however, located along the large open, free parking area that fronts Target, so you will not have to pay the parking meters. We had an excellent meal today. Very enjoyable. Recommended. @Removeyourhat

The food was average. The calamari was very dry. Drinks were okay. If you decide to go, make sure you come for happy hour (Mon-Fri 4 to 7). Let's get the service. It was excruciatingly slow! I had to remind my server to get my drink and food! I'll never come back.

My martini - the dirty - was perfect. The service, however, was horrible. It took about 15 minutes for the bartender to come back to me, after having been served my drink, to ask if I "was okay." I ordered the short rib sliders. I wasn't expecting a world class meal but the meat was dry and stringy. I finished my martini within minutes of my food arriving, but the bartender never returned to see if I wanted something else. I actually planned on having a second drink, but the service was so awful I decided to just get out of there. Never even got a water. She finally returned to check on me when she saw my Visa out on the bar, at which point I had finished eating and asked for the check. I won't return.

If the manager reads this, please fire the dummy bar tender, long black hair and glasses. Never has somebody given me worse service

Let me start off by saying that I love the food. The Salmon sliders are outstanding. But I was there for Happy hour on a Friday and this is not my first time having a girls outing at this place. The drinks absolutely sucks! I had 3 martinis and didnt feel any different than I came in. It seems as if they were filled with only juice. if you are there for drinks I recommend sticking with beer. At least beer you know what you are getting. The service is why I am leaving 2 stars and left no tip. Michelle was very hard to find. We waited an hour for her to bring the check, and when she came 3 out of 7 were wrong. It took so long for her to bring a check that my party was anticipating on walking out without paying.
