As a newby to town we wanted to try to this spot. The diner is a small and quaint place with a cozy atmosphere. We were immediate greeted and ordered coffee. The coffee was at the table within seconds. The coffee was served in a regular original old collected coffee cup and my girlfriends was a different style cup than mine was. A neat cup that reminds you of coffee at your grandmothers house. She had a veggie omelet that was huge and delish with a side of gravy. I had a breakfast platter with eggs, turkey bacon, grits and biscuits. I was impressed they offered turkey bacon and it was cooked to crispy perfection. The biscuits are made from scratch and will give you flashbacks to your childhood. The service was great as we had cups full of coffee the entire time. At checkout we found they have numerous handmade pies to include chocolate chess! It's very affordable and I would even say under-priced. It's a best kept secret in my opinion and I'm glad to add it to our favorite list. This will be our weekend breakfast spot:)

Great place to eat where everyone is friendly, even the customers. I come here almost every weekend and love the local flair...

Tiny, rectangular place with about for or five tables, and maybe 12 stools at the counter - an NBA player could probly stand in the center and touch both walls, width wise. The place is a little worn, but clean and relatively bright. The menu is fairly large with breakfast items (including Brains & Eggs for $5.80, Omelets, Biscuits, and Pancakes), 5 or 6 Plate Lunches (including Country Fried Steak, Flounder, and Barbecue), about 15 Vegetable choices, Spaghetti, a number of Salads, and of course sandwiches, burgers, and dogs. The hot dog is solid, not spectacular - decent wiener, soft bun, but the chili is a little thin and light on flavor. The cheeseburger is pretty good - medium sized pattie with some taste, and a fresh bun. Fast, friendly service here, but might be a touch slow when crowded. Definitely worth a shot for breakfast, lunch, or a quick snack - you do snack, don't you. They close at 3:30PM.

Read some really good reviews about this place on yelp and decided to try it out. However, the food wasn't anything what we were expecting. The food was ok, but nothing extravagant. There was a ton of locals, which seemed to get better service than us. Many locals ordered after us and got their food before us. I ordered the short stack pancakes and the confetti hash browns (with onions, peppers, cheese, & bacon), and my fiancé got Mike's special. My pancakes were a little dry, even with the syrup. My hashbrowns were good, but very greasy. Overall the food was your standard fried meats and pancakes. There was nothing that stood out and made us want to revisit on our next trip to Danville.

We stopped at the Heartline Diner on our way through Danville. As it happens, two of our favorite restaurants in Danville closed down and we were getting hungry. The Heartline appeared like an oasis, and we gave it a try. What a friendly spot! It's easy to see why the locals fill this place; the people working there make you feel like family the second you walk in the door. Our food was prepared fresh and they insisted on bringing it out to us at the picnic table, and they even brought our dog a bowl of water without our asking (that's an automatic extra star right there). Even my food-fussy wife that doesn't normally frequent these sorts of places enjoyed her stay immensely.

OK, so you walk in the front door, and it reminds me of an *old* school diner. Because it is. For the newbs, think a mini-version of the Waffle Shop(s) that adorn the South and Mid-West. Local/regulars give ya the once over, none too subtle about it. NBD. But oh the things people talk about with regulars in the presence of strangers. If you want to give birth here, eat the chef salad combined with liver and onions. That's the first thing I learned here by sitting at the main counter. Speaking of the main counter - the counter stools were made for people from the middle ages. My 32" inseam legs were absolutely jammed into the counter. But to hear the nuggets of liver and onion wisdom made the bruised knees worthwhile. Pretty certain the owner waited on me. Definite a business person. Ads affixed to the flattop vent. I had a very good diner grade omelette with home fries. Don't take the diner comment as a bad thing - just keep your expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed. But this is not a place for coming and going quickly. The servers are the cooks. While I have no problem with it, just a warning if you're in a hurry. Overall, a great value and a good experience. I would eat here again, without hesitation, if I were in the area.

Was traveling for business in Danville and happened upon this whole-in-the-wall and was blown away. Some if the best corned beef hash I've ever had! If you are ever in or passing through Danville, make it point to eat at Heart Line, you won't be disappointed.

This was one of the worst experiences ever after waiting 50+ minutes for breakfast and hearing the big blonde lady cooking complain we walked out. Don't go here!

An interesting find; this is a place where you can get your fix in good, solid southern cooking. It is inexpensive and just decent. The wait staff is pleasant and eating there is a cultural experience. I visit the place at least once when visiting Danville. Always a good hint is that there are usually always a police car parked in front of it at breakfast or lunch time.

This is the kind of place you wouldn't go to unless a local suggested it. Well they did and we loved it! When they suggest something to go with a meal, listen, they know. Best French toast ever! By the end of breakfast we felt like we were a local and been coming here forever. The menu is bigger than the building. A must visit.
