I am not a barbecue fan particularly but my husband is, so we went here after shopping at Home Depot. The dining area is rather small so we were surprised, but the food more than made up for it. I got the Bird Dog, hot dog with excellent BBQ shredded chicken and tasty hand-cut slaw. My husband said his half rack of ribs was "as good as they get". The sides we tried were mac & cheese-tangy not gritty at all more like cheesy ziti- and baked beans - sweet & tangy, different than the norm. Cornbread is not on the wall menu, but listed in the catering menu, so they gave me some to try, which had different spices and was very tasty. The staff was pleasant and gave quick service. We would definitely return and recommend.

We bought quite a few items to go for a family dinner and were not impressed. The pulled pork had too much vinegar and the sauce, which had a very weird texture and color, was way too hot for us and they didn't offer us any other options. The beef brisket was overly smoky--I like some smoke, but I'd prefer to actually taste the meat too. The mashed potatoes had way too much pepper and the green beans were mushy and flavorless; even the pieces of bacon had no flavor. The mac and cheese was good, but I wished it had less heat to help balance the spicy potatoes and pork. The only thing we really liked was the baked beans and cole slaw. It was also more expensive than other places we've been. We won't visit again.

The food is good but way overpriced and who sells BBQ without selling hushpuppies? The Mac-n-cheese does have a surprising smoky flavor which I would recommend.

My husband and I ate here tonight for the second time in the last few months and it will be our last time eating here. The food was so unbelievably spicy it was inedible. My husband ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs and there was so much pepper on it he couldn't even eat it, they also put some weird spicy BBQ type sauce on them that just added to the misery. He ordered green beans as his side and they tasted like mushy water. I ordered the Carolina pulled pork sandwich.... my mouth was on FIRE. I couldn't tell if it was the meat itself or that weird spicy sauce they put on it again, either way it was just awful and offensive! I ordered mac n' cheese as my side, again, ridiculously spicy with giant red pepper flakes in every bite. The food was just terrible. Tonight was such a disappointment, food that spicy is unnecessary and they really should warn people that it's that spicy or at least give a less or non spicy version of the meal. You're better off hitting Jersey Mikes next door or the Chinese place 2 doors down.

I like vinegary North Carolina BBQ but this was way too vinegary. Too much pepper too. Then there was the green beans that had very little flavor and the slaw was chunky and lacked enough dressing. I am not usually a picky person but I must say I will not be returning to this place.

Found this gem's in Ashland next to Home Depot. Sooo good. They serve breakfast, including bisquit breakfast sandwiches. The owner was there and seems like a down home guy. I highly recommend this spot for any bisquit fans like myself. I had a brisket, egg, and cheese bisquit. It was only 3.50, what a steal!

Terrible! They don't actually make the lunch and dinner food here, it's basically a kiosk steam table with a store around it. The "kitchen" is huge and empty, but the dining area is super cramped. I had the brisket sandwich. The moment it came out of a liquid bath paper thin and in a long ribbon I knew was in for a crappy sandwich. Decent brisket would pull apart if it was sliced like this, this was more like the deli "brisket" they serve at Subway. The bun was OK, but the side choices sucked. I had the chips, said made fresh, but they were tied in a plastic bag, almost like the popcorn we used to get in elementary school when they showed movies in the auditorium ( on a reel to reel :) ). They were stale, and certainly not homemade. So it gets better. There is no water dispenser, or option of a beverage besides bottled water or soda, so your on the hook for a min two dollar beverage, if you're the kind of person who likes a drink with your meal. The "meal" set me back about ten bucks, and it was a big disappointment. The staff were friendly. I would go out of my way to dissuade someone from eating here.
