I was so excited to see that there would be an Uncle Julio's near us! The first time we went we attributed the slow service to the restaurant being new. So we tried again and we were oh SO DISAPPOINTED with the food, portion size, service, and cost! The food lacked in flavor and seasoning. The Nachos we ordered were a joke! There were 6 small round pieces of chips, I said SIX, in our lunch portion with a smear of beans and a smear of cheese, oh yes a small piece of dried steak...for $10.99! We had to ask for water & utensils. Oh yes, after asking 3 (THREE) staff members for plates, we finally had to get up ourselves and go ask the tortilla making staff for plates...our food was cold by then. We asked to see the manager and when she finally came, she was RUDE and ABRUPT! No apology or offer of compensation or substitutions. She had the audacity to ask "how many nachos did you get?" I told her I was not in the habit of counting my food portions, I didn't know I was supposed to keep tabs. I was surprised she didn't ask me if I had counted the beans or rice on the children's plates! I wrote to corporate regarding my experience and they sent me a generic "apology" of sort! I will NOT be back to any of their restaurants and would not recommend them to anyone!

I have never complained about a restaurant before; I will make an exception for Uncle Julios! Overpriced. Horrible frozen drinks that taste like they came out of a crank case. Haughty wait staff. Chillis has better fajitas and a lot cheaper!

Horrible ! horrible food, service. we went today around 12 pm let me start with this our server took 5 minutes to get two waters and a coke he suggested table side guac. we ordered right away it took 30 minutes to get that on our table, guac was the only good part about our meal so expensive we ordered a fajita for two $34 and a lunch fajita $13.00 like really lunch that much! and my steak was red it was supposed to come with peppers well I only saw onions on the skillet, the fajitas had a strong flavor of garlic nasty. our server brought us three tortillas for our fajitas took so long to get us more tortilla. manager went to ask other tables about how was everything never came to our table. the guac lady was nice, one guy who was wearing white jacket came to scream at her because she was using lime for our guac well we ask for lime in our guac not lemon. sad but true never will be back I think we have better places like tios grill, plaza azteca, and los toltecos. my one star goes to the guac and decor.... and big question do they have dessert because we never were ask if we want dessert he brought us the check in the middle of our meal! and it was the wrong check lol! BAD BAD BAD HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

The other local Mexican restaurants should be afraid. Very afraid. Just a week after opening Julio's seems to have worked out a lot of their kinks. Grabbed a couple seats at the bar during dinner rush and enjoyed freshly made pineapple margaritas (no pre-made mixers) and shared the best restaurant chips and salsa in town. The shrimp, steak and chicken fajitas platter was big enough to share and was delicious. Service was attentive and we chatted with their Dallas-based executive manager who could not have been more congenial. We will be back.

I've been to uncle Julio's in Reston before I love Mexican food But tonight was our first time in one Loudoun location We had to wait over 30 minutes but it was worth it Our waitress was amazing She was super nice and fast for delivering our orders She was smiling and as busy as it was she didn't rush us Her name is Sandra We will ask for her again

I have been a fan of Uncle Julio's since my first taste of their chips and salsa many years ago. I can go through two bowls of chips before my food arrives easily. I typically order some form of steak be it carne asada or fajitas. My go to fav is the Guadalajara! It's a combination if steak fajitas and bacon wrapped jumbo mesquite shrimp with warm butter for dippin!!!!!!! Stop reading this and go to Uncle Julio's Now! You'll love it!!!

Love Uncle Julios! My fave is the chicken nachos! Very filling, tasty, and delicious! Service was good!

I love Uncle Julios. They are consistent in their food quality. Their chips are super thin and fresh, with the perfect amount of salt. They offer a warm salsa that has just the perfect amount of garlic and seasoning. This place usually has a LONG wait....often times 2 hours. On an early Saturday afternoon, we walked in and the entire bar was empty! The seating around the bar has some comfy stools with backs, perfect for old folks like us! The servers were great. They instantly planted those fabulous chips/salsa right in front of us. I love their swirlies and it was just the right afternoon to indulge! Hubby tried their drink of the day: Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita. Yes, it had jalapeños and not exactly what to expect when you see a yellow margarita. I'm not sure it was really worth the $11 price point... For lunch I ordered their fish tacos. This included 3 corn tortillas stuffed with a grilled or somewhat fried tilapia. These were massive, enough for take-out later! Hubby enjoyed his enchilada platter. He stated that the 'raw onions' really made this meal. This location has lots of outdoor patio seating. Parking is on the street or there are adjacent free lots.

I want to love this particular location, but it seems overpriced for the quality of food served. Their decor is sleek and modern, and the service was great. Ordered the chicken fajitas on the two occasions I've eaten here, and the chicken was a mix between over and undercooked -- both times. Also, the sour cream and guacamole came out warm, like it had been sitting out. And the bill, with tip, was almost $50 -- for myself and two kids, and my kids shared a meal -- for lunch. Will give it one more shot the next time we get a tex mex craving, but won't return if we have the same experience.

UJ is a chain Mexican restaurant that....I really like. Why don't we have one on the East coast in the New York tri-state area!??? IMO, the best meal on the fajita menu is their la Guadalajara: bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp stuffed with Monterey Jack and jalapeño with either chicken and/or beef combo. When it comes to flavor, you can't lose. The shrimp and chicken are tender and the steak good. It comes with rice and beans and the fajita fixins' (sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese). Fresh Ingredients: The tortillas are freshly pressed on a heated conveyer oven right before your eyes. Quite entertaining for the kiddies and adults. One would not go wrong ordering table side guac especially when you can specialize your own heat intensity with more jalapenos. Another must is their queso blanco. The creamy cheese dip with peppers has a little kick of awesomeness which will leave you scraping the bowl before placing another order. Drinks: I was excited when I saw the pineapple jalapeno margarita but wasn't impressed when I ordered it as it lacked the spiceyness and was fairely weak. I'll stick with their frozen margaritas which are popular. Uncle Julio's: When are you branching out to the New York region??

Somehow this review was put under Anita's...um, NO! I've already given this place 5 stars but I'll give another 5 - we had a fantastic experience on a rainy Saturday here. We did the call-ahead which I've never tried and didn't think it would matter, but it did! We were seated in less than 15 minutes. Our food came lightning quick, I forgot to tell my server I just wanted steak fajitas and not combination, they had the correct order in front of me in less than 5 minutes! We were stunned!

Wow I'm impressed! I've always wanted to try Uncle Julio's in Reston and was ecstatic when they opened one in Ashburn! We came here on a Sunday evening to celebrate my dad's birthday, and while the restaurant seemed busy, we only waited 15ish minutes to be seated. Our super friendly waiter assured us everything in their restaurant is homemade and made from scratch (except for the beer and ice cream haha). We started with their chips, which were light, crispy, fresh, and addicting. I got their infamous Swirl to drink. While it was tasty yet strong, I actually preferred the frozen sangria portion over the margarita part, so I may stick with the sangria next time. As for the entrees, well, what can I say? Everything was delicious. The chicken and steak fajitas were perfectly seasoned and fully cooked, despite what other reviewers stated about the chicken being undercooked, and came with great homemade hot tortillas, tasty rice, and beans that were almost like stew. My mom got the carne asada, which looked good but didn't really come with anything special as sides (besides the usual beans and rice). All in all it was a very pleasant evening spent with family and good food. Tip: make sure to sign up for their email list to save $10!

Bottom line: expensive slow and really salty meat. 9pm on a Monday, ordered Nachos and steak enchiladas combo. Nachos come out cold, sent them back then they come back later with our entree. The steak was way too salty and the enchiladas were tastless. They had good chip and salsa and the beans and rice were ok, that's about it, but for a place where nachos are $14 and entrees are $19 I would hope to at least eat more than two bites before I had to quit. As you can see from the picture the meat was just that bad I couldn't eat more than two bites. The second bite was just to make sure that the first one was not a fluke. Do not recommend. Anita's is way better and at least 30 percent cheaper.

Decent Mexican chain. We started with swirls, which is their popular drink. Meh. I wanted a bloody but they don't make them in-house. Probably stick to the margaritas. We ordered a side of the guacamole and it was the smallest serving I've ever seen for $6. We fought over it. I'm not sure how to explain this but the female bartender that day was very odd; she was giving off a lot of attitude veiled with a smile. It was strange. It took away from our meal a bit. My bf ordered the chicken fajitas and I ordered the tuna tacos. Everything was delicious and prompt. Inside was a fun, lively vibe with a rustic, Mexican décor. It would do the job but I wasn't blown away like I was at Rosa Mexicano. Not bad One Loudoun, not bad.

All I can say is.... YUCK!!! I'll never go back there. Takes forever to get your food and then the meat isn't fully cooked. Servers busy talking to each other and not focusing on the customer.

Cute place and super busy. There was one party after another of 10 people or more. Luckily the place is huge so it can easily accommodate. It doesn't feel that way as it's divided up into different rooms. I liked the back area with the booths the best. There was great ambiance in that room. The outdoor patio area looks good too but it was raining that day so it wasn't a possibility. The food wasn't great. I ordered nachos with chicken. What I received was a very orderly plate with about 10 nachos in a circle. They had cheese on top and a slice of chicken. The guacamole and sour cream were in the middle on top of shredded lettuce. My friends had chicken tortilla soup and enchiladas. Both said they wouldn't order the dishes again. The waiter's service dropped off as soon as he realized we would not be ordering drinks. He saw no reason to be accommodating after that. I will go there again to see if they make something that is great to eat and maybe if I order drinks it will be a good experience. If it's negative that'll be it for me.

Four stars only because I've had spotty service at the bar. The Monday bartenders, Mike and Emily Always do a great job. They remember my name and what I drink and how I like it. I try and come on Mondays if able because of them. The food is good to. I'm not to picky, so I am easy to please with good tasting, hot food. Service is where I decide if a place is great or not. Monday's I give them a 5.

Okay... So my chicken fajita salad was actually delicious. I'm a salad lover and it was great. However, this place doesn't deserve any more than 3 stars based on our service. We sat at the bar and placed an order to go so we ordered guacamole to munch on while we waited. It came fast but it was a very small scoop for $6. Since it came out so quickly I figured the rest of our food would too. I was wrong. We waited an hour for a salad and a quesadilla to go. Never got an apology for the wait, even though several people came, got food, and left before our order came. The lady at the bar was really nice but I would have liked an apology for it taking so long. Also, $50 for a salad, quesadilla, guacamole and two drinks is more than I want to spend for Mexican food but I guess it isn't terrible. Anyway, their salad saved them because if it wasn't so good I would have given them less stars. I will give them a second chance, so we'll see how they do then!

I have been a fan of Uncle Julio's for a long time. Never have a bad thing to say. Always great. But I never had the urge to write a review until my experience this evening. I came from having a terrible experience at a restaurant across the street and knew I wouldn't be disappointed coming here. But what I didn't know, was how much better my night would become. I sat at the bar and Justin was our bartender. Off the bat extremely welcoming and friendly. For me a bartender is supposed to be the host of the party at all times. Making it welcome to couples, solo guests, and groups. One who fails at making someone feel welcome has failed at their sole duty of being a bartender. Justin was EXCEPTIONAL!!! It was a Sunday evening and the bar wasn't too busy so he was able to hang around and chat for a good amount of time. After a while I told him of my horrible service experience previously and he was mortified. Immediately paid for my queso as a kind gesture. And if you know my love of queso then you know that this went a long way with me. He had great recommendations and was on top of things during our entire visit. Our food and drinks came out wonderfully delicious (per usual). If one person is able to turn your night around with just providing above and beyond service then They deserve to know. Thank you Justin for making my night. And Rio Grande for never disappointing!!

I LOVE uncle Julio's.... (Usually) today we feasted on chips and salsa and the table-side guac was really cool and delicious. We had the swirls (of course) on a gorgeous summer afternoon- al fresco. Unfortunately, the chicken (fajita chicken) was grossly undercooked which went unnoticed until well into my second fajita. When mentioned to the server he told us it was a vein.... Bad. Idea. The manager came out and said "yes it should have been on the grill longer, but I'm sure you won't get sick. This is how I always eat my chicken" What???? You always eat raw chicken!? He took it off the bill and when he returned he mentioned again that he's sure I won't get sick. Sure hope he's right....

I've been to this location 3 times now, and I really like it. The fajitas for 2 is huge, so today, my wife and I shared the fajitas for 1, and that was more than enough. Sitting outside is pleasant on a nice day like today. The "swirls" are a great drink, and the chips are freshly made and really good. We were lucky enough to have Yojana as our server, very very attentive, informative, and quick. Great dining experience !

  • Matt H.

The service was very good, the food was on point with other Uncle Julio's restaurants in the area, and it was nice eating outside in their large outdoor area. Nothing much else to add here. It's an average Uncle Julio's, but the acoustics inside the restaurant are a bit better, so it's not as loud as the Uncle Julio's in Reston.

Went to Uncle Julio's for a work happy hour - I didn't dislike their One Loudoun location, but it wasn't really a stand out experience. Our server was polite and nice, but just from coming to our table a lot in the beginning when we weren't ready to order and not entirely knowing the happy hour specials, I am assuming he was newer. You can't really go wrong with a Swirl, my favorite drink there, but I found the cheese quesadilla to be a bit overpriced for an appetizer. My advice to Uncle Julio's, especially in an area with a lot of businesses, is to have the happy hour written somewhere or have a separate menu for it. I may go back but most likely for the Swirl.

I wouldn't return. I really wanted to love Uncle Julios because so many people rave about it. Sadly, I just didn't see what all that hype is about. Our server was great, and we have no complaints at all with his speed, attentiveness or attitude. No, all of our problems lie with the food. We were told that all the food at this restaurant is "from scratch". Nothing is made in advance. Well, if that's the case, then why were the nachos we ordered as an appetizer lukewarm at best? Anything made from scratch, should come from the oven or stove top to the table - Meaning it should be piping hot. It wasn't just the nachos either. Our meals suffered the same fate, and quite honestly weren't even seasoned all that well. Everything about the meal was just bland and boring - Which was only compounded for the worse by the price. Which brings me to that - This place is way too expensive for what you get. There's nothing all that impressive on the menu, and the fact that everything hovers between fifteen and twenty dollars doesn't make things easier. We also noted that their margaritas were half the size of most Mexican restaurants in the area, yet priced at equal the price you'd pay everywhere else. Definitely will not be returning to Uncle Julios. The food isn't worth the price for what you're getting, and no matter how you slice it - From scratch food doesn't arrive to your table lukewarm.

Hadn't tried an Uncle Julio's in years, as I tend to prefer non-chain Mexican restaurants that are a little more authentic. My intuition was right. This place kind of sucks. I would warn you that fajitas is their specialty and makes up 85% of the menu, so if you like other Mexican dishes, don't come here. The food was just OK. The combinations of dishes that come with sides or that don't seems to have no rhyme or reason to it. The beans are in the lower half of what I've had at Mexican places. I personally had the Al Pastor, a shrimp fajitas dish that came with squash and zucchini seared in with it but no real sides except a mango habanero sauce and some disgusting, weird, shredded stuff. It was supposed to come with corn tortillas, but I had nearly finished my meal before they even made it to the table with them. Oh, and there was pineapple in the dish, which gave the whole thing a weird sweet blast in a dish that you'd expect to be spicy. The service was so-so. Refills came often, but little details (like straws) were missed. Honestly, the only thing I can say I truly enjoyed was the salsa, which is a great, spicy roasted chipotle flavored salsa. But the chips are those really thin greasy ones, so it sort of mehs it all back up. I'll stick to Plaza Azteca!! P.S. They were EXTREMELY slow (like that's not even supposed to be allowed at Mexican places) with the food AND pretty much all the dishes are $20+! (Again, how is that allowed at a Mexican place?)

Awesome new location. So much nicer inside than the other locations. It has a very different feel to it. Food was great, the carne asada is the best you can get. Drinks here are very good too, try the swirl margarita.

uncle julios franchises worst location. under staffed, slow service, poorly managed, bad carry out. i expect management really needs to do a top down review of this place before it harms the entire franchise. avoid this location. go to reston or ffx .

  • Tom H.

We used to like the one in Reston, but this place last night failed. The service was ok, but the food was not up to par. Chicken tacos didn't skimp on chicken, but were tasteless otherwise; chicken, a little cheese, some chopped tomato, and some lettuce...no sauce on them or offered. The enchiladas with Red chile sauce were ok, but the chicken one was so hot my wife couldn't eat it. Ordered refried beans, came with charo instead which the waitress replaced quickly. The big issue? Noise! It was so loud we had to nearly yell across the table to be heard, mostly because of the loud "background" music! What is it with restaurants anymore that they feel they have to blare music at high levels, forcing people to be even louder? Very disappointing and Uncle Julios is off our list for a while...probably quite a while.

Brought my family to dinner over the July 4th weekend. Had the Strawberry Margarita, tasty! 4 people ordered dinners, 1 guest got sick later in the evening, not sure if the Hot Spices agreed with him. Other than that, we loved the service!

    (5)
  • Kim K.

The margaritas at this particular location are horrible. Tastes like you are drinking straight sour mix, not to mention they cost $11.00. I've tried them several times and found them undrinkable - and I'm not usually picky on margaritas. This location is just sub-par compared to other Uncle Julio's I've been to.

  • Brittany K.

I sat on the outside patio and had Isabel as my server. She was attentive, professional and knowledgeable. We had the combo fajitas and a bowl of queso which were the best in both categories of any TexMex restaurant I've ever been to. I will definitely be back for more phenomenal food and service.

  • Nabeel A.

I have been to this particular location twice now and both times I had a good experience. The staff was super friendly, the food was very fresh and we walked out happy people. Do get the "Guac" by the table. They will make it to your taste and it's the best. Fajitas are always yummy and steak just melts in your mouth. It does often take a while to get a table here but once you are in, things do tend to move quickly. Overall, a nice pleasant experience.

    (4)
  • Mike A.

Wow. Aside from the beans and the jalapeños, this was a bland version of the solid meals I've had at Uncle Julios in Reston and Dallas. Service was awkward and slow. We will give it another whirl. Perhaps they just have some kinks to work out.

    (2)
  • Beth C.

Food was good. Service was just ok. Snobby host. Waiter should have been more attentive. Was sorta treated like they didn't need/want our business. I wanted to really like it as I love that type of food but the service was less than good. We'll likely be back.

    (3)
  • Shay M.

The vegetarian fajitas are tasty and plentiful -- you can easily enjoy two meals out of one when you order from Uncle Julios. I also order the tableside guacamole every time, because it is just too good!

Amazing freshly made table side guacamole The original margarita is done to perfection. La Carna Asada melts in your mouth

Uncle Julio's will give you the Mexican fix you have been craving! If you are in the mood for queso, guacamole, or just a taco or two, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed by the service or the menu. This location in particular is brand new and creates a great atmosphere both inside and out! One Loudoun is becoming the place to be!

  • Alyssa S.

I came just for drinks with a friend, she had the Mexican mojito and I had the passion mango margarita. Obsessed with the passion mango! Didn't order food, but we had the chips and salsa, great atmosphere. The music was GREAT, salsa, merengue, bachata, a little of everything. Fun night.

I have been eating at Uncle Julios for many years and my go to one is the one in Reston Town Center. I have to admit during the entire time I always get the fajitas -- chicken or steak and for the very first time I tried something different. Like one of the other reviews mentioned, if it is not the fajitas you are eating, the other food is not that great. It's missing the spices. The drinks are always on point along with the chips and salsa. The new location is very nice and a lot more room than the Reston location. Seemed very similar to the one in Fairfax. The service was great too and we didn't have a long wait. Will always eat at Uncle Julios but I will definitely have to stick to the fajitas. I would give them 4 stars along with the drinks!

  • David N.

Took my family on Sunday afternoon...still had to wait 30 minutes, but that was expected given the place is new and the demand for new restaurant options in Loudoun.... Overall, we were rather disappointed. The tableside guacamole was outstanding, but rest of the meal, both food and service, were erratic. Some long waits between appetizers, and then cold food, presented sloppily. I'll give the benefit of the doubt given they only recently opened, and will come back (we love Mexican food), but it will be awhile. Bummed.

  • Emily R.

Ordered pick up and waited about an hour and the server didn't packed salsa, mexican rice and bean. I waited another 10 min and drove back home. I ordered for 4 meals and 3 orders needed tortillas. They didn't packed tortillas!!!!! I had to eat all the meals without the tortillas. It was too late and far for me to go back to the restaurant. I called the restaurant and talk to the manager. She wasn't very nice. Had some attitude issue. Disappointed!! We won't go back there again. Please check your dishes when you carry out.

My friend and I have been waiting for this restaurant to open! We came out to eat on Saturday night during their soft opening week and I was extremely surprised on how nicely furnished the restaurant is. The open kitchen look really works well with the presentation of all of the food; as a customer it is ALWAYS amazing to know and be able to see that your food is being made fresh every time you order it. We ordered the Watermelon margarita and the fresh guacamole they make at your table, and they were both phenomenal. The flavors in all of the food they offer is amazing, definitely one of, if not, the best Mexican restaurant in this area. We also got the bacon-shrimp with fajitas that was suggested by our server (Cedric) who gave us the best service I have ever experienced in any restaurant I've been to. You definitely have some new regulars. I can't wait until the weather gets nice so I can take my friends to their patio and drink yummy margaritas. 5 stars. Oh yeah, expect a wait whenever you come in; they are that busy, but the quality of the experience - from food, service, drinks, - doesn't deteriorate at all.

With this new location in One Loudoun, I have no need to ever go to the Reston Town Center again. This Julio's is easily twice if not three times the size of the Reston location yet so much more quieter at the same time. It's packed right now in the dining room, but I can talk with my gf at a normal volume. The bar area is equally as spacious. The bar is U-shaped with a generous amount of space between it and the tables/booths.

  • L M.

YAY! Finally opened.. This is my all time goto Mexican place! We always went to the Reston location, but since we live in ashburn it's nice to not have to drive far! This place compared to Reston is #1 the bar her is so much better and bigger! The service was a little slow but hey it's opening weekend I'll give these guys a break! They tried so hard! Also the food is on point.. The sangria swirl is my all time FAVE!! Def do yourself a favor and try this place out!

  • Kathy R.

The newest Uncle Julio's does not disappoint! The food is excellent and arrives steaming hot and fresh. I have had the shrimp el pastor twice and I love the blend of flavors with the mango, subtle hint of habenero, and jicama slaw. I also love that I can get it with either corn tortillas or lettuce wraps or both. Another must is the margarita of the day. I have had the watermelon and the pineapple jalapeno; both delicious. Even though the wait can be a bit long, the servers do not rush you through the meal which is nice. They are very attentive and accommodating. Also not to be missed are the table-side guacamole and the fried ice cream. Uncle Julio's is THE place to be in One Loudoun!

  • Robin P.

I forget our bartenders name but he was great! All thought we walked in about 15 minutes before they closed we didn't feel rushed at all. We sat at the bar and had drinks and got some pico for the chips. I love how this place is set up. Way better service over here then the reston location.

  • Liz K.

Love this new location!!! Ever since it has opened, I have frequented the Uncle Julio's One Loudoun location with both friends and family multiple times. While the wait time is always exceptionally long (and this is really my only complaint with the place), it's well worth it. I have had no problems with the food or the staff. I recommend their Queso and Mango Passion Rita - the best queso and margarita I have ever had, in fact. My friends and I will go to this location just for these 2 menu items. Again, my only complaint is the wait -- don't expect to be seated right away. Most of the time, we'll just opt for the bar seating rather than waiting for a table.

Went there on the 4th and received excellent service in the bar area. The food was great and the generously sized 'table side guac.' was well worth the cost. Only complaint with the place is the size of the margaritas. After visiting Reston for so many years, we expected to receive our frozen drinks in a mug or a large glass. The small glasses which they now serve the margaritas in are definitely not worth the price. So go for the food but skip the drinks! (shouldn't a decent margarita be part of the draw for a Mexican restaurant?)

Great food, great drinks. Staff (Diego, Manager) was very accommodating of food allergies in our party. Bruno was our server, and he did a fantastic job keeping everyone satisfied. I fine out at least the times each week, and the service and food here was second to none.

I have to admit I was skeptical about coming here because of things I've heard about long waits and poor service but after visiting for myself, I was pleasantly surprised! We came on a busy Wednesday night and were told there was a 30-45 minute wait which only turned out to be about 20 minutes. There was a cluster of host's at the front who all seemed very confused but once seated we had nothing but a good experience. The waiter was great and very attentive. Our drinks were fast, we had table-side guacamole and the food came out shortly after. The waiter stopped by our table pretty often to make sure that we were enjoying our food and had full drinks. I will definitely be back!

The newest location for the Rio Grande Cafe at Loudoun One does not disappoint. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. The service was top notch and the food and drinks were excellent. I started with the fresh made Sangria and moved on to the impressive selection of high end tequila. The guacamole fresh made at the table was the best I have had anywhere. I had the Jalisco fajita combo platter - which included perfectly cooked shrimp, steak and chicken. With all of the choices a diner has in Northern Virginia it is nice to go to a place that delivers on both service and food. Can't wait to go back.

I'll keep this short: Black beans looked gross. Mexican rice looked and tasted pasty, like Zatarain's in a box. Meats were over-seasoned and too salty Service was sub-par: slow on drink refills. Weren't asked if we wanted dessert and felt like we were being rushed out of there. Seems a bit pricey overall. If it were truly a better experience and taste, price wouldn't be an issue. The Reston location is better. Won't be back here anytime soon. Chips were good, though.

Visited on Saturday early evening - 5:30 pm and the place was mobbed. Stood in a line for 10 minutes just to put my name on the list for a table before I abandoned that idea and sat at the bar. Nothing special here. The only thing I enjoyed was the salsa and chips. I ordered the Queso/Guacamole combo - the queso was gross, watery yellow concoction. The guac was decent but way too salty. Margarita was mediocre. Worst of all was the service. The bartender was too busy to deal with being attentive. He was rude and hard to understand. Took forever to get my tab paid and finally leave. I will not be back.

Food and drinks amazing. Been here several times and service been on point. Got to try the table side guacamole and whatever fresh margaritas they have. Now on open table for reservation too!

Same exceptional service and food as the Uncle Julio's in Reston. Fajitas and guacamole were awesome as usual. However, the One Loudon location is much better than the Reston location for one reason- the space. At Reston you're continually bumping elbows with the table next to you and it's not uncommon to wait up to an hour for dinner on a weeknight. The One Loudon location is far more spread out and they have much more room. We will definitely be back as Uncle Julio's is a much loved favorite.

Great food, red snapper fajitas were incredible! Alan the bartender makes a mean house margarita, and Kara our server rounded out a great evening in this well run brand new upscale dining establishment at One Loudoun. Way to go and thank you! cjp

Quite refreshing to see Uncle Julio's open up in Ashburn. Drinks were amazing . House Guacamole and chips fresh and service was great. But on the flip side the chicken fajitas were dry and the red snapper I tried was dry too . They need to make entrees better.

I don't eat chain food. This isn't chain food....this is food made with heart by a company who cares. Sat at the bar, had seafood fajitas with the FANTASTIC option of lettuce wraps (yeah Paleo!). Read the other reviews...it's not cheap Mexican food, thank goodness!! Find us at the bar! With the margarita of the day!

I've been to a few Uncle Julio's, even had my wedding rehearsal dinner at one. Unfortunately, this is the worst Uncle Julio's I've been to. This restaurant cannot hold a candle to the one in Fairfax, Reston, Woodbridge, Arlington, Boca Raton, and Gaithersburg... yes, I've been to them all. The only thing good I could say about it was the food was Uncle Julio's on point but the service was non-existent. The worst of the service was it was at the bar, there were 2 bartenders and I could count the customers on both hands. I could cut them some slack b/c it was close to closing time but we got there at nine and the close at ten. I just moved into the area and took my friend that helped me move here for dinner. Thankfully for me, he doesn't drink and drove... I was hoping to put a few down. The bar service stopped after my 2nd drink and my friend couldn't get a re-fill on his soda, pretty pathetic service. Neither bartender bothered to check on how our food was and I don't understand what was so hard about bringing more tortillas (or bring more than 3 for a double order of fajitas!). After we stopped eating, we had to wait another ten minutes to get the check taken care of after it was brought to their attention. I know I'm new to Loudoun county and One Loudoun is still being built but if they are relying on service like this at an 'anchor' establishment... I do not foresee One Loudoun becoming anything more then just another strip mall. Just look at the Village at Leesburg... nice and empty!

We ordered the chicken fajita tacos and Juanita's platter. The tacos were great although I assumed fajita style meant it came with grilled peppers and onions and it just meant that the chicken was grilled chunks and not pulled. The platter was quite tasty but in it the pork tamale was awesome. We'll have to order a plate of those next time. The red sauce made the dish. The service was also great. I drink a TON of water and it was never empty. The place was packed but it didn't take too long to get a table. Definitely coming back!

The food is just not at all worth the prices. The guacamole isn't anything fantastic either. Service was lacking, we were on the patio. Two female workers were sitting at a table behind us eating and drinking (they seemed to be off work) but what bothered me was their complaining about the restaurant and staff, talking awful about people working there, all for us to hear, and our guy waiter was much more interested in chatting it up with them then serving us, or the other tables. Also, when we were leaving, my husband opened the door for me and as we were walking in, the waiter busts through the space between us and the door to get out to the patio. RUDE. You let the guests go through first. Wouldn't recommend it all. For these prices, go to Rosa Mexicano and get food that is not just run of the mill.

A terribly disappointing outing to Rio Grande. Service was so slow and can't really be called service. It was just order-taking at best. Not a single dish pre-bussed. The table a disaster throughout the entire meal. See pic. Food was barely acceptable. Worse than typical chain restaurant food. I cannot believe how far Rio Grande has fallen since the wonderful meals I had years ago at Reston Town Center. It honestly feels like they are paying for this beautiful building with downgraded food and scant service. A shocking mess.

We went there on a busy Saturday night, but it was just us 2 and there were open tables near the bar- a booth! Service was amazing, food was great and surprisingly came out super fast. We shared fajitas and the guacamole and crushed it. We'll definitely be back!

The placed was packed as we had expected for a newly opened place. After our wait we were seated near the restrooms (so that was not a great start). We sat down and the waiter was friendly and acknowledge us right away and did a good job during the dining experience. From there, things went South (pun intended). The food was awful. I ordered fajitas and being a friend of Yelp, I figured I could not go wrong. WRONG!! It was absolutely tasteless. The meat was tough as well. My wife enjoyed the bacon wrapped shrimp, but to get a frozen premium margarita was virtually impossible. And, it cost me additional above the premium price. Overall it was, loud, crappy, and Grossly OVERPRICED. We love great food and do not mind paying for it. At this place, your gonna pay for it, but you aren't going to like it. We will not be returning.

This restaurant is one of the best that I have been to in a while. Personally, I had the chicken fajitas which were superb and met my standards set by other reviews. I also tried some of their tacos. The chicken was just a little bland, but other then that I was satisfied. I small detail I noticed was the quality straws they had for the drinks. I talked to one of the waiters and he explained that everything they make is truly fresh, which I could defiantly taste. Finally, our server was fantastic! He was friendly, energetic, and made fun conversation with us. He is up in my top 3 servers of all time. My only complaint was that we were told there would be a 15 minute wait to be seated, but we were not seated for an hour. Overall, it was an excellent restaurant, perfect for any occasion, defiantly would recommend.

It's always busy so get there early or expect to wait. Service has always been solid. The flour tortillas are the pillows of the gods. Go here and get the fajitas for two, even if you're by yourself. Don't worry, nobody will judge you, they are that good.

Fourth trip to this establishment. For the most part food is good. The gauc and tamales are excellent. The the salads are nothing to write home about. Atmosphere very nice. However the reason for the 3 star is staff and service-the front of service is horrible. The four times i've walked in, there is no greeting(not even a smile), hardly a response at all. And 3 out of 4 times we were there-restaruarnt virtually empty- and they told us there would be a 10/15 minute wait. Speaks volumes when of an establishment when they tell you there is a wait when three fourth of restaurant is empty. And lastly, the last time we were in, (quarter finals)women soccer was on big screen...entire staff standing behind bar watching game and we waited 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table to greet and take our drink orders. Note: mgmt was behind bar as well watching game.

We showed up on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. Our guests love Mexican food and we were excited to take them to one of the newest restaurants in One Loudoun. When we arrived there were about 20 customers in the place. We were told that our party of four adults and 2 kids would have a 30-40 minute wait. Why? "Staffing issues." There were no apologies, no attempts to encourage us to stay. A friendly host/hostess could have showed us we were valued customers and we might have stayed. Something is definitely wrong when there is not one attempt to keep 6 paying customers in house. Sad.

The fajitas are amazing. The steak is perfectly cooked with great flavor. The tortillas are warm, fresh and delicious. The chips are made every day fresh. The salsa, guacamole, and queso are great with the chips. There customer service is one of the best I ever experienced. The atmosphere is perfect. I love Uncle Julios.

First time at this restaurant and let me tell you it wasn't a very enjoyable one. The waitress was horrible we had to ask for silverware and napkins then we had to ask for plates with our appetizer. My first drink was very small of which I said nothing my second drink was even smaller which I brought to the attention of the waitress she took it back and brought it back with something added that change the colour she then proceeded to tell me that's how they make a martini around here with sweet vermouth. Which was an obvious lie, after being in the restaurant for approximately 1 hour they decided to bring our main course, my sons fajitas were not even hot as soon as the plate came on the table I touched it it was lukewarm that was the final straw my dinner my evening ruined

I am a huge UJs fan, but the one at loudoun isn't cutting it yet. Needs to take phone in reservations like Reston and Fairfax and use the BIG mugs for swirls. Service isn't quite as crisp as the other outlets.

We enjoy this place quite a bit. The staff is super nice, perhaps since the place is quite new, but we love that part in compare to the Reston Uncle Julios. It's kind of a chainy type place, so if you are the 'authentic' type then it's at your discretion. We have not enjoyed many of the small restaurants in NOVA, so this place has been the only one we have consistently enjoyed. We love ordering the fajita's and will ask for extra of their freshly made tortillas. The table side guacomole is great, a bit spendy, but awesome for bigger tables. They have some pretty good drinks as well, yet again, on the more expensive side of the spectrum. It's right next to alamo drafthouse which is great if you're wanting a place to eat before or after the movie or are burnt out on alamo drafthouse food.

Ok so the food is great the server was great but my son was paying and he is in the United States Navy I am so proud of him. He was deployed last year and because of ISIS he had to stay much longer than we thought so when paying he asked if they had a military discount he gave his ID then the manager said no discount unless you are in uniform!! Funny cause if he was in uniform he would be discharged cause he was on civilian time !!! He had never run across this before and he was like it's ok mom but I'm mad !! The so called "Military Discount" is a joke ! Don't go to this place unless they change this policy

Growing pains, I guess... but I won't be back until the patio is open, because the service is too awful to wait over an hour to be seated. It's loud, the waiters seem lost. I'll go to Reston for the time being.

What a disaster this uncle julio's restaurant is! Went in for a kinda late evening dinner. The place was half full. The hostess took down our names and told us to wait. We waited for 2-3 min and then she proceeded to get on her iPhone to check on her texts. Then, she casually put on her jacket and walked off the restaurant!!! There were some other staff walking around with the earpieces talking spanish or whatever but people who were waiting to be seated ended up just doing that. Nobody checked on the customers. We left within 5 min. of going in and decided not to visit this location ever again!

I have been here a couple times. Uncle Julio's will not disappoint! The fajitas were good. All the tortillas are made fresh, and they use quality ingredients. All the food is made from scratch! Sadly, the food here is a bit over priced.

Overall good service. Food was great. Drinks were great. However, we were celebrating a birthday and I requested for a cake with a candle and he brought out a scope of ice cream without a candle and they staff didn't even sing happy birthday. This location needs to work on birthday celebrations. They should include a sombrero and a slice of a cake with a candle.

THREE WORDS: Table Side Guacamole! Amid much excitement surrounding One Loudoun and all it will bring to an area in desperate need of more diverse dining options, Uncle Julio's is proving itself very worthy of its place, front and center, in the highly anticipated retail complex. The restaurant is beautifully designed, the servers are expertly trained and the FOOD is fresh, interesting and JUST. SO. GOOD. I have had the pleasure of dining at the new Uncle Julio's twice since it opened and both experiences were excellent. I dined in larger parties of eight and ten, respectively, and the servers handled us with the (relative) ease of a party of two or four. Try one of the fun, different signature margaritas! The pineapple jalapeño is an amazing combination of flavors and the house margarita is equally good. If ten people who didn't care for guacamole were blindfolded and served Uncle Julio's table side guacamole, they would just sit down and ask for more. It's that good. But, it's definitely smart to share it, so you're still hungry for your favorite Mexican entree! Sizzling fajitas or hot, fresh tamales, tacos, combination entrees....it's going to take us a year's worth of visits to try it all! I wish my friends and I could keep this restaurant our little secret, but that wouldn't be fair to the waiting masses. Go today! And next week too! (Just leave some avocados on that cart for the rest of us!)

Table side guacamole was delish! However ordered their fish tacos and they were the worst I have ever tasted. Tilapia tasted old and horrible. Had the classic margarita which was tasty and service was good despite the guacamole lady not speaking any English.

I ordered mango margarita it was 4 out of ten !! I went there for happy hour, but their happy hour sucks !! Just a dollar or 2 off on some drinks !! No happy hour food menu ... They just shouldn't advertise happy hour. Coz technically there s no happy hour

Uncle Julio's has been a long time fave. This is the best in the area and a great Loudoun Co addition. The service and atmosphere are wonderful and the steak fajitas are the best I've had at any restaurant.

This is like the only Mexican restaurant I've been to that doesn't have giant margaritas and the salsa that comes with the chips is kinda bland. The place us very nice and has a cool environment but, overall it's overpriced and just unimpressive. Plaza Azteca, right down the road, is better in every way, in my opinion.

Terrible experience. Took over 2 hours to get seated (hostess "lost" our ticket" apparently) Our waiter claimed he was from the Reston location but you wouldn't know it by his service. He took all our drink orders...came back 10 min later and lost the paper he wrote them down on?? The food was good however, the waiter didn't put in our steak temps correct but we were easy going about that- at that point we were starving.....THEN i ordered a to go order with plenty of time left in our dinner so it would be ready to go by the time we left...nope it took an additional 15 min only to find out it had been sitting out and now cold. By far the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. Will NOT be back to this location.

Horrible service! The worst ive had lately. Waited 2 and a half hours to get food. 30 minutes at a time to get drinks. Would not come here again until they get their act together which i dont see happening anytime soon

So happy we have an Uncle Julio's closer to me here in Ashburn. I had always frequented the one at Farifax Corner til I moved out of the area. We've been patiently waiting til this one opened. What can I say, the decor is outstanding. To the oversized chandeliers, wall sconces, colorful paintings and terra cotta, this place is beautiful. Full of color. I absolutely love the picture that hangs over the middle of the bar. A beautiful Flamenco dancer in a red dress. The bar at this location is quite big. 2 TV's, a round bar and additional guest seating surrounding the bar. The food and menu has several tasty options, and doesn't overwhelm you with too many options. We ordered the steak fajitas for 2 and they were pretty delicious, but had a few gristly pieces. I ordered the cocktail of the day which was a pineapple and jalapeno margarita. It tasted pretty good, but it was filled with ice. When I say filled with ice, I mean, ice all the way from the bottom to the top of the glass and barely any liquid. I gave it back and ordered the good ol' reliable, Swirl Margarita, which never disappoints. The outdoor seating area is much bigger than other locations .I cant wait to sit out there in the summertime with the sun beating down drinking a Swirl, or having a nice chilled margarita with the sun setting. AAAhhhhh, Summer, I love you and Uncle Julio's salsa....(The best in town)

Glad the new Uncle Julios keeps up with the standards of the old one in Reston. The fajitas are awesome and I really enjoyed my chicken enchiladas. Table side guac was my second favorite thing next to the fresh strawberry and mint margarita! Can't wait to comeback here!

    (5)
  • Julie T.

Had the fresh fajitas that came with jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon! Need I say more? The mix-at-your-table guacamole was out of this world delish. Washed down with the famous Uncle Julio Swirly beverage and surrounded by the authentic TexMex atmosphere made for a perfect date night with my DH and good friends. Also can't forget this detail which will be important to some- I am GF and their corn tortillas are GF and the best corn tortillas I have ever had. Don't crumble or fall apart at all!!! This is now my new fave.

We love Mexican food and wanted to try this place but we never got a chance to. After the hostess sat us, we waited and waited and waited for our server. The table next to us was even given chips and salsa and we had been seated long before them. So we walked out. We probably won't return. During our long wait, we looked over the menu and the prices are pretty high. We'll just stick to our favorite, locally owned, less expensive, non-chain Mexican restaurant in Leesburg where we are immediately served each and every time.

  • Brent M.

Always loved the one in Reston, and I'm thrilled this one opened within walking distance. They just opened, and service is great! Expect a wait frequently as people try it out for the first time. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that they need to figure out the baja margarita. It comes out as a beer and a margarita, with not much room to mix them in the margarita glass. Take a note from the Reston Julios, and I'll up it to 5 stars!

  • Chick L.

We had take out from here the other night and never again. I had beef tacos and they were some of the greasiest tacos I've ever eaten. The guacamole was not very good, the queso sauce was inedible and the chips tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a few days. My stomach was screaming at me for the rest of the evening " why did you eat this crap? I will make you pay!" And that it did. I was willing to give this location a try, but the extremely poor quality of food did nothing to change my mind about ever stepping foot in a Julio's again.

  • MM G.

Far exceeded my expectations! Service was on-point, pineapple - jalapeño margaritas were excellent, and the red snapper fajitas were amazing! So full I could barely move! I will definitely be coming back! Get there early, though, if you don't want to wait. We arrives around 4 pm on a Friday and were seated immediately, but by the time we left at 5:15 - 5:30 a significant line had accumulated at the door. That being said, well worth it! Best restaurant in One Loudon!

I experienced this place at one Loudoun for the first time & I was truly impressed by the elegance of the place & such great people working there! I highly recommend this location vs any other uncle Julio location.

  • Ginger H.

Hubby and I have always loved Uncle Julio's in Reston and measure all other southwest restaurants by it. The One Loudoun location is quite crowded and busy with long waits, but it is well worth the wait if you have the time. The food and service are consistently good (no different from the Reston location). We always have the Guadalajara and/or the Jalisco (both with chicken). I can't tell you how thrilled we are to have an Uncle Julio's in Loudoun County now.

My very first statement on this review is to say that if you are hungry and need a great drink with awesome service... Google maps Uncle Julio's One Loudoun right now! My wife and I came in for lunch last week at the new and improved Uncle Julio's (visited Reston a few years back) and the experience was almost unbelievably fantastic. I'm talking 5 star quality here! Our server's name was Devin and he was hands down the best server we have ever had in our Uncle Julio's dining history. He recommended the special make at your table guacamole.. I took my first bite and was INSTANTLY addicted. My wife and I washed it down with some of their new fresh fruit margaritas! Exceptionally tasty. The entree course was even more out of this world.. Red snapper at a Mexican restaurant!? Are you kidding me!! Delicious! My wife had the pineapple shrimp dish with the lettuce wraps! Totally refreshing and not too filling! As our dining experience was maxed out in quality, we had a chance to check out the new food preparation station on the dining room floor! Everything looked so fresh that I could not believe my eyes! We were greeted by one of the managers, Jeremy, and he filled us in on the scoop of the new restaurant upgrades which got us totally excited! The only concern I ever had with Uncle Julio's was the noise level and fast pace of the staff.. I asked him if the noise level was usually bothersome, he replied "No, I just think of it as a Mexican fiesta everyday." Great way to look at it! He proceeded to show us around the new restaurant! Great job on the contemporary decor! We will definitely return to the party many more times! AMAZING!

Visited 6/7/15 at approx 3:30-4:00 PM with a group of 16 adults and 7 kids. The food at Uncle Julio's is ok, I think the quality might be going down as well as the service was lacking yesterday. We sat in the bar area at a few tables. Chips and salsa are usually one of the first things placed at the table after sitting down. Yesterday we got chips but no salsa or salsa without chips. Management had only 1 server for our entire party. The adults drinks and food orders were delivered long before any of the kids had received even their drink orders. The few who ordered the steak fajitas medium rare received well done meat. The children's food orders were not correct and did not arrive in a timely manner. I understand that large groups can cause some logistical issues but my question would be why isn't the waitstaff trained to know how to effectively deal with large groups and why isn't a team work atmosphere promoted so that the customers are being served in a timely fashion. Again the location and atmosphere are great but service and food quality will hopefully improve as the staff and cooks become more experienced.

  • S R.

This new location is promising but the staff need serious training, We waited long stretches between service - 20 minutes to get drinks delivered for example. Server disappeared for long blocks of time. Orders taken/filled incorrectly. What's difficult about this order - shrimp tacos with just shrimp and lettuce? Didn't come out correct the 2nd time either! And when it comes time to pay? The wait staff can't split the bill correctly (50/50) and the split bills add up to more than the original bill! Management comped our dinner which is the ONLY reason I'd give this location another chance.

I went with my wife this past week, and we were both impressed. The One Loudoun Uncle Julio's definitely lives up to the name. The bar area is larger than the Reston or FFX Corner, and seems more upscale as well. The food was delicious and surpassed expectations, considering they had only been open for a week. I got the Jalisco, fajitas with shrimp, chicken, and beef, all of which were amazing. I was surprised to find tamales on the menu and will be returning to give them a taste. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was perfect. We will be back many, many times.

We were able to get a sneak preview during the staff training night. Officially opens on March 9 to the public. Staff and service is as wonderful in Ashburn as the Reston location, which we visit often. The entrees and their specialty margaritas were spot on. If you don't eat meat there are numerous seafood options for apps and entrees. One item we tried was the red snapper and chose the lettuce wrap option instead of corn tortillas. We also enjoyed the Guadalajara bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp, chicken and steak fajita combo. The restaurant features an open kitchen concept and there was a roomy bar at the entrance. Chips and salsa are made fresh but a fun highlight is when you watch them make your guacamole with fresh ingredients at your table side. Go to Uncle Julios-highly recommend it! Families, couples or a night out with friends- they have something for everyone on their menu.

Chose this place to celebrate my birthday with my family and I wish I hadn't. Our food took nearly 40 minutes to come to the table. The restaurant was not overly crowded as there were plenty of open tables on the patio and inside the restaurant. The server apologized a number of times but it didn't really help matters. When our food finally arrived it was undercooked and incorrect. After our food was served we waited 10 minutes to find the server who couldn't stay away from our table when the food wasn't around and then evaporated after it was served. When he finally came back to the table it took another 15 minutes to get the correct order. The manager came to the table and offered to comp our appetizers which would have been nice if we actually HAD appetizers. He offered to comp our desserts which I told him we were not going to order since we had birthday cake at home. Hey manager, here's a tip... HOW ABOUT COMP'ing THE FOOD THAT CAME OUT UNDERCOOKED rather than finding a cheap substitute on the menu. The menu has been paired down to maybe 30 items. Most dishes are a protein, cheese and tortillas so how can you mess that up? The homemade tortilla's they are famous for were almost raw with lumps of uncooked, gooey dough. My steak that was supposed to be medium well was bleeding and my daughter's meal was supposed to be on flour tortillas came on corn tortilla's that were also not prepared correctly. The entire taco literally fell into pieces when it was picked up. Bottom line...Go somewhere else. Bar Louie across the street has outside dining, better drinks and better mexican food.

If you are looking for the frosty mug swirl, it's not here. They have gotten rid of the frosty mugs for margarita glasses (not frosty) (no fun drink picks). They struggled with gluten friendly knowledge/options. If you have a gluten allergy, head to the Reston location. They are ready to handle it. I'm sure with time, the one Loudoun location will come around, change the mugs and become more knowledgeable... Until then...two stars.

I'm a huge fan of the Uncle Julio's chain, but this one seriously needs to work out some kinks before I'll go back. Unlike other Uncle Julio's, there is NO call ahead seating at this location, so we had a two hour wait. After placing our name on the wait list, we were told they had just given out the last pager and to check back in 20 minutes. Fifteen minutes later (when I saw a stack of pagers on the hostess stand), I asked for one, but was reminded that I had been told not to ask for 20 minutes. Similarly, after 75 minutes of waiting for our table, I checked in to see where we were on the list. The manager's response was to remind me that, based on my arrival time, I still had 45 minutes left to wait. When we finally taken to a table, there were not enough chairs--or room--for our party and had to stand around the table for at least five minutes while they tried to figure out how to seat us. Once we were seated, the wait staff was fabulous and attentive. The food arrived very quickly and was good (although the beans and rice were not as good as at other locations...it was as though they had been sitting for two hours, waiting to make it to someone's plate). Our waitress, bartender, and the gentleman who took our drink order in the patio waiting area, were each excellent. That said, it certainly is not worth the two hour wait.

The food was excellent. The Service was a bit sketchy. They were very busy and I have to assume that eventually the service will work Itself out.

So glad there's now a Julio's close by! The restaurant is beautiful! It was absolutely packed, with waits over an hour, but that didn't seem to affect the service at all. We got the table side guacamole to star - so awesome, and there was plenty to go around, even though there were seven of us. Everybody was happy with their meals, and the Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita was amazing! Will definitely be back!

Finally! Uncle Julios opened in Loudoun. No more driving to Reston. This restaurant is bigger than Reston, nicer, and has the same great food. We've never had a bad meal. I would go just for the smokey roasted pepper salsa. They even manage to make boring old standbys like enchiladas full of flavor. Loudoun is loaded with mediocre Mexican food. Now we have something worth the trip.

Great Service, however, very expensive. The food and drinks were excellent. The servers and manager were wonderful and couldn't be better. Unfortunately, the bill after a couple drinks and a entree will make you wonder when you will be going back again. If money isn't an issue, this is the place to go with friends and family

We've tried to eat here twice now- it's always at least an hour wait for two people for dinner on the weekends. We tried the bar the second time after the host told us we would have to wait the full hour and a half for a table (even for the empty outdoor tables), but the waiter for the outdoor bar tables told us that we would not be eligible for the food menu because it would probably rain. So weird, so rude - we're not coming back.

The manager Diego is rude and unprofessional. We arrived at 6pm to wait in line twenty mins just to put our name on the wait list for a party of 6. We were quoted a two hour wait. When going back to the hostess stand (after an hour and a half of waiting) to get an estimate on how much longer the hostess stated you were quoted a two hour and fifteen minute wait and I explained we were quoted a two hour wait. Diego rudely turned around and stated well even if you were quoted a two hour wait you still have another forty mins. I then stated I understand you are busy and new but I'm just looking about how much longer on the wait. The nice hostess explained to me she would check the floor to see about how much longer. She was actually helpful unlike the rude manager. She stated we will be the next 6 top seated. After waiting another thirty minutes we watched TWO 6 top tables be seated prior to us when they were in line behind us originally to give your name to the hostess. We went back to the hostess to explain what happened and they magically found us a table immediately and apologized to us. Unfortunately our experience here with the manager was very unprofessional. It doesn't matter if we had a three hour wait he needs to learn common courtesy and customer service. We understand this is a new location so they are busy but you don't need to be rude to paying customers who have waited two hours to eat at your restaurant. Like all Uncle Julio chains the food and drinks were great but the customer service could use some improvement!

Its Uncle Julio's so what can I say about the food. Its awesome! Uncle Julio's has been my family's favorite restaurant ever since they were just Rio Grande years ago. And we're beyond excited to now have one in our home town of Ashburn! We've gone to Reston every Sunday for the past 5 years but are now hoping to make this one our home restaurant. Upon our first visit, we got there before opening, but the manager opened the door and allowed to us to wait inside, which was really nice. The decor is beautiful and there's plenty of space. Service was a bit spotty, but I'm happy to chalk that up to "just opened" growing pains. Food was delicious as always. The only reason that I'm giving 4-stars instead of 5 is that this seems to be the only UJ location in the region that doesn't open at 10 for brunch on Sundays. We love to go there after church on Sundays and were a little surprised to find them closed. I'm hoping they figure this out and try to mimic the other locations so we can enjoy the delicious Mexican brunch the other stores all seem to have. Other than that, I have high hopes for this location and hope to make it a mainstay for my family for years to come.

My family and I have been to the Uncle Julios at One Loudoun twice and have been very impressed. New restaurants in Ashburn tend to get swamped, especially good ones. This is a good one, so it's been slammed! Despite the crowds, the service and quality of food is excellent! On our most recent visit, our server was Ricky, who could give lessons in good service. My daughter had requested orange soda, which they don't have. Ricky recommended the mango lemonade, which she loved. I'm sure she'll be getting it every visit now. My husband and I had margaritas, which are excellent. My husband really enjoyed the margarita of the day - pineapple habenero. The table side guacamole was great and it gives you a chance to have input on what goes in (extra jalapeños for us!). Fajitas are great. The Shrimp Al Pastor fajitas are on the lighter side with lots of great flavors. All of the food is very fresh and tasty. The service is just as good as the food. Ricky had great recommendations, anticipated our needs, and even provided things we didn't know to ask for. The regular salsa is great, but there's a spicy version which Ricky brought when my husband mentioned liking spicy food. If you like heat, ask for it! We will be returning often and asking for Ricky's section!

went to uncle julios two weeks ago with two other couples. we waited about an hour. drink prices are extremely high. once seated and orders were placed, we received an app (shrimp wrapped in bacon) that was partially cooked, and the shrimp tacos were cold. after sending the tacos back, they came back again as cold. my meal was wrong too. the reston location is sooo much better. maybe they'll work the kinks out, but I'd still rather go to reston

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
