It was a pleasant surprise that we went to this restaurant by kind of accident and the food was pretty good. As I am a passionate fan of El Pollo Rico in Arlington, I don't usually eat Peruvian chicken elsewhere. But today, when we went into Pizza Go Round, (my recent discovery) maybe we got there right after a kids birthday party lunch or something, and most of the open tables were messy and not ready for the next customers, and my favorite salad bar's lettuce container was almost empty. So we decided to go back out and decided to try The Pollo Factory. As soon as we went in, we were greeted and I asked where the menu was. The young man said, "it is very simple, our menu is one quarter chicken with two sides." So I chose green salad and black beans as my two sides and paid and sat down. Shortly after, our meals were delivered to our table. They brought to two of us one meal with thighs, and the other with breast part of chicken. I thought that was very thoughtful especially because I love both dark and white meats of chicken. Later, I had a chance to chat with the owner Michael, and he told me that they usually give dark and white meats to a party of two unless the customers order specifically. The chicken was very good. The skin was crispy and very flavorful, the meat still moist and tender. It was an interesting experience how we ended up going to this restaurant. Thanks to first, Koichi's review of Pizza Go Round, and second to the messy post-party like tables at Pizza Go Round. This would be a good lunch stop on the way to Leesburg Premium Outlet.

I love Pollo Factory! Best rotisserie chicken in the area and the rice is great too! Staff is very friendly and quick with orders. The longest I've had to wait was maybe 10 minutes! Definitely recommend this place to everyone! And don't forget to get the tres leches cake

Never had this chicken before because of the small town we are from. Tried it for the first time and was surprised by how unique the taste is. Really good favors and love the crispy chicken skin. The rice was a little dry but everything else was wonderful.

To die for!!! Their chicken is so delicious. Every time I've been here, there's almost never been fat on the breasts, unlike other places where all they give you is fat. The rice & the mustard sauce is delicious with it, too. don't even get me started on the yucca.... this place is heaven in a tiny shop.

Amazing rotisserie chicken, moist and spicy, conveniently available in quarter, half, and whole chickens. Tasty sauces. Awesome sides. Friendly staff. Perfect for pick-up.

What a great little hole in the wall place nestled away in a strip mall. Wasn't sure what to expect from the reviews, website, etc but was pleased to see a nice little family owned place when I pulled up and wood coals cooking the food. This is real Peruvian food, not some greasy wannabe. I had the lomo saltado, one of my favorites, and was very happy with it. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm down here on business. My only negative comment was that they didn't have ceviche but it is very likely the owners are from an area of Peru that doesn't specialize in it.

Like most of the reviewers here, we too were told that they didn't have any chicken when we came in. We were told there would be a twenty minute wait if we wanted to still order - Since our option was to turn around and leave and either drive to another location or go to one of the many places in this block of eateries, we decided to wait. Sadly, the food wasn't worth said wait. The chicken was salty and greasy. Worst of all were the sides. They weren't generous portions at all. The amount of food they give you would barely spread across two people unless you were giving people only a 1/4 of a cup of rice and beans. And, let me tell you about those rice and bean dishes. Both were pathetic. The rice was bland old steamed white rice, and the beans were nothing more than black beans directly from a can. Not only was the food bad, but so was the person behind the counter who was taking orders. He never smiled at any of the customers, and was rather blunt and rude to several other customers. This guy is definitely not the person who should be greeting all the customers, because he doesn't make any of them feel welcome. In addition to the cold shoulder from the guy behind the counter, he also went the extra step of bagging our food up to go. That's right. He didn't even ask us if we were dining in or taking it to go. Instead he pretty much said, "No, you're taking this to go." There are other better Peruvian chicken locations in the area, so The Pollo Factory definitely won't be a place I bother going back to.

So I was already a fan of The Pollo Factory because of their Sterling location. I decided to try this place with my family and was it was better than before. The chicken is hands down the best Peruvian Chicken I have ever had. Some places either put too much seasoning or not enough. The Pollo Factory seasons their chicken just right. I am really loving the side options too. Most Peruvian chicken places only offer fries or Yucca but at Pollo Factory you can also get rice, beans, or fried plantains. I am pretty sure there are other side options but those are the ones I usually get. The yellow sauce is the best! I am a bit picky about texture and this yellow sauce is just right. Not thick like mayo but not watery either. I haven't tried the green sauce because I am a wuss with spice but my husband says it is amazing. Since this is a chicken place I wasn't expecting the lomo saltado to be so delicious. Not only was the taste on point but the quality of the meat was excellent. I haven't tried the other plates or the desserts but its on my list to do. The place itself is very nice and clean. The people there are always so welcoming and super fast with the food. I wish they had a place in Arlington so we wouldn't have to drive so far to get good Peruvian Chicken.

Really fresh and tasty spin on rotisserie chicken. Heavy seasoning with authentic doing sauces. Fried plantains and coleslaw were both good. Staff is friendly and dedicated to making a good impression. I'm a fan!

I've been back to this place about 6-10 times since I wrote my first review. This place keeps getting me to come back. I still want to try all their other dishes, but the chicken is outstanding! Love this place. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Peruvian chicken or has never tried it before.

Very good chicken and very inexpensive compared to other restaurants in the area. I'd definitely go back.

This place is NOT one of those jaw dropping Pollo a la Brasa that you will get. However, it's very decent and the chicken is charcoal grilled right, not overcooked. When's the last time you have grilled chicken where the chicken breast is tender and moist at a Pollo place? not very often I would say. To nitpick on this restaurant, I would say they could use a little more seasoning. It's alright, perhaps it's my own fault but I'm used to the stronger spices that is put in the chicken. The yucca was pretty good, I wish they peel it more so that there's less fiber in the yucca. The plantain was not my favorite. It looks like they made it so it's weight-watcher approved. It appeared as though it was baked, so it tasted like plantain flavored baked potato. Some people might actually prefer this over the greasy droopy oil soaked soggy deep-fried-until-golden-brown original recipe. However I prefer the original over this new-and-improved version. Lastly, the service was a little slow; I had 2 orders before me and it took more than 10 minutes of wait. Phone ordering is highly recommended unless you want to starve yourself torturing with the wonderful charcoal Pollo smell with no food to indulge on. All in all, it was pretty good, good enough to become the standard Pollo place on the way home, but then again it's just "very good" but not "spectacular". Other items on the menu include steak, fish, and things like fried rice dishes which all seem interesting and worth trying as well. Lastly, price was pretty good too. On par with Pollo anywhere else and they did not add any suburb convenience tax which was nice.

I was considering this place for lunch... Until I saw the server/cashier coughing into his plastic gloves...

I will never go back to this place, service was terrible, the two guys working at the front of the restaurant are very rude, sizes are way to small and the service is way to slow.

  • Jacob L.

This place has amazing Peruvian rotisserie chicken and I've tried them all in many cities across the US with not much luck other than in Peru. The place has nice decor and great prices with quick service. The whole chicken family meal is a great value but they really skimp on the rice so I needed to buy 2 for everyone in my party to enjoy their meal. Other than that, this is one of the places I need to go to every time I visit Virginia. Delicioso!

  • Anne J.

YUM. Not much of an atmosphere, plastic chairs, but the chicken is fantastic. Could be spicier but was delicious! Fried plantains were a tasty indulgence too.

Can be hit or miss but pretty good if you're nearby. They definitely don't disappoint on the portion

Best $6.29 Quesadilla in the area (not kidding). Their quarter/half chicken meal is pretty substantial as well. If you like spicy, the green jalepeno sauce is the cats meow

I love this place! I have tried other Peruvian Chicken places and this by far is the best! Love it!

Meh. It was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. If I come to this location again, I'll probably hit Five Guys instead.

Great peruvian chicken place. The chicken is great -- might not be the best I've had, but still great. I need to figure out where they're buying that wood charcoal and try it myself. Quick service every time I've been in -- I don't know what some of the other reviewers are talking about, with regards to slow service. It's never been more than a 5 minute wait for me, and I've been there five times, at least. Service for me has been quick and friendly. Today I made a mistake and ordered the wrong side; I came back and tried to pay for the right one; they just gave me the right one for free. It's one of our family's go-to spots for me to pick something up on the way home, and it will be for a long time.

  • Dan G.

Perfectly cooked rotisserie chicken with excellent sides for very reasonable cost (got yucca & plantains). I think this will become a work lunch staple. Portions were big but flavor was bigger and cost was right! I can not wait to go back to this place for lunch again! The green sauce was spicy and delicious and the garlic flavored yellow sauce was good as well. Cant wait to taste other menu items but the chicken is so good, it might be awhile!

This is a review for anyone grabbing a late lunch; Go elsewhere! I ordered the Pollo Bowl and the staff member simply chopped up an entire chicken breast, bones and all, and dumped it in with the other ingredients. I'm not a big fan of biting into bone fragments with every bite, but if you are, you may give this place a better rating!

    (1)
  • Emily P.

Every, EVERY single time I go here, SOMEHOW they are out of chicken. Excuses all the time. Either out of chicken, or they have an order too big and there's a 30 minute wait. Sorry guys, I can haul my butt to King Pollo and they'll be happy to have my business. They always have been :)

  • Alexa M.

We continue to eat here at least 1x a week. Really tasty, fresh food, excellent prices & friendly service!

  • L L.

This is outstanding. On ocaasion, I used to bring home a Rotisserie Chicken for dinner from Giant or Wegman's. No more. This is the best chicken I have ever had. The chickens are very large and they quarter the chicken for you. Get both sauces, the spicy green and mellow sauce. Try mixing them. Smells as good as it tastes. Put it in the back seat so your arent tempted.... Only draw back is they are closed from 3-5pm. They would do a more HUGE take out business if they were open around 4 to catch all the pm rush hour traffic down waxpool as it is on the "going home" side of Waxpool.

I love the pollo factory! Always great chicken and lots of different sides for a fair price. Fast service to eat in or to go!

One of the first things that I wanted to find when we moved to Ashburn was a decent pollo joint. Based on reviews I read I decided to give the Pollo Factory a try and it certainly did not disappoint. The chicken was seasoned perfect. The sauces were pretty decent. There really isn't a menu other than chicken and a couple sides to choose from. Tthis is a place you probably just want to pick a chicken up from and not eat in. The ambiance is about as pretty as the strip mall this restaurant is located in. I know that this will be a place where I can ask my husband to swing by on the way home for an easy dinner! I know we will be returning!

Excellent and simple. Both the chicken and the lomo saltado are great. Not always easy to get a seat at lunchtime, though.

All I have to say is this place is solid! I am used to driving to Herndon and going to the holy grail of all peruvian chicken places, Guapos, but today I didn't feel like braving the traffic so I decided to check this place out. Their menu isn't that extensive yet, but what they do have is pretty good. I got 2 orders of the quartered chicken and it was really really good. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I didn't like their white sauce as much as Guapos' white sauce but their green sauce was essentially the same so it was fine in the end. What I do love about this place is when you order Yucca fries, they give you a TON! I'm used to only getting like 4 at Guapos and it sucks b/c they're the best thing in the world and you want to eat more than 4 of the best thing in the world right? So 3 million points to them for their great portions! Also, I really liked that they didn't charge extra for Yucca which at most places they do. I still really like Guapos b/c their menu has more to offer, but for now, this will be my go-to place when I don't feel like making the drive. I know they are a fairly new establishment so I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them some time to build their menu. So far so good though! The service is quick and friendly. The place is clean and the food is good! Try it if you haven't!

GREAT FOOD! Im a huge fan of Peruvian pollo and this place is a hidden gem. Great value 1 chicken, 2 sides for 13.00. The yuca was great! Chicken was juicy and fresh. I would comment on the decor, its a bit "dry" but mine was a to go order. I would re visit again and again.

  • Terry P.

The chicken is excellent. Love the green hot sauce...the best is to just douse the hot green sauce all over the chicken. Small place but awesome tasting food.

  • Laura R.

AMAZING chicken! This place is very much a "whole in the wall" establishment so I would not recommend it for a first date or anything fancy. My boy friend and I have been here twice in the last month and we plan to keep coming back for the delicious chicken. For the price you get a good amount of chicken. The skin is crispy and the meat is juicy. We have not had to wait long for our orders but we have witnessed people having to wait 10-15 minutes because they ran out of chicken and had to cook more... at least they know they are getting fresh chicken? The sides leave something to be desired: fires, rice, beans, fried plantains, fried yuca, side salad... would love a steamed veggie option! ::hint hint:: Definitely plan to return and want to try some of their other traditional entrees!

Jump back. This joint is amazing. I feel like I need to marry a Peruvian woman after I eat here just so she can stay in the kitchen all day and make me chicken that is half as good as Pollo Factory's. It will be worth the spicy latin anger. Get the half chicken and double salad and your world will be changed, or La Changedo as the Peruvians say. You better roll up your sleeves, less you look like an idiot during a post-lunch meeting (Like I have multiple times) I'd give this place 6 stars if I could.

    (5)
  • Lorraine Y.

I would give them no star if possible. Beware..Totally, no service at all! If I wanna waste that long to order the chicken, then I would rather go home and cook myself. Cashier kept on flirting in Spanish with the previous customers, ignored telephone rang + other new customer(s) who were waiting in line!!! Yes, it's delicious, but it doesn't mean that customers (esp. local residents) must buy those Peruvian Chickens from here. I would highly recommended driving a little bit further to Sterling store (hours are much longer with no break time) instead...better customer service and fast.

    (1)
  • Jason D.

I really enjoyed it, reminded me of what I use to get in Mexico when I lived there. I was disappointed that they didn't serve Tortilla's yet... but said they will be soon. I'll be back for sure.

The best peruvian chicken in the area, hands down. I haven't tried the other stuff on the menu - the pollo with various sides is really excellent, both white and dark meat - moist and spicy! The sauces are really good, too - you have to put them on the chicken or you are missing out. So, why 4/5 stars? It seems like a fast food place, but it can take 10 to 20 minutes to get your chicken. The ambiance is also pretty industrial. I recommend going for dinner take-out (they do whole chickens for family dinner plus enough sides for 5 to 6 people), or, if for lunch, go early (11:30am) or late (1:00pm) - there is always a rush of folks at noon, and the waits get pretty long.

We rolled in to have lunch right as they were meant to close in the middle of the week. Their hospitality was so good, that I didn't notice until my husband pointed that out when we were leaving. There are a LOT of pollo a la Brasa joints in Northern Virginia. A LOT. You can't help but notice the piles of charcoal that they've got for their cooking behind the counter and smell the wood smoke right as you walk in. I am a bad person and was just not in the mood for the straight up chicken. I went for fried yucca, plantains, and a quesadilla. My husband was ravenous and opted for the sandwich with 2 sides. Alas, they were out of plantains, which I picked on them for, then later regretted since they could have just booted us out since they were technically closed. XD There is no substance on earth nicer than properly fried made to order yucca. It was delightful. The portions here are ridonkulously generous. We got a little bag full of yucca instead of everyone else's three, count them (3) pieces. Everything is quite affordable. Right, chicken place. I should prolly write about that. XD The chicken is just perfect. The smoke managed to come through the vegetables and cheese in the quesadilla quite pleasantly. It was moist and delicious. Also, yes, I said vegetables in your quesadilla. It was refreshing to see real green and red things mixed in, and even better that they were fresh and tasty. I assumed that my husband liked his corn because it was GONE inside of 10 seconds. His sandwich was large enough to feed a squadron. I was very close to giving this 5 stars. It's a great example of a meal that is well above its price mark in quality.

Good choice from a limited pool of selection. Chicken has always tasted fresh and well prepared. Yucca was a bit too starchy for my taste - but that's probably just yucca.

I absolutely love the chicken at this place. I originally went to the sterling, va location because of a groupon deal. I tried the Ashburn location due to a groupon now deal as well. The only complaint I have about this place as that they need better time management. I have gone to the Ashburn location specifically because it is closest to my house. The groupon deal said that it would be available from 11am - 2pm, but when I got there at 11:15 AM, they weren't open yet, nor was the chicken ready. I waited until 12pm for the chicken. That is because the food is GREAT, but boy was I ticked off that their food wasn't ready until an hour after opening time. Then, I made a special trip to the Ashburn Pollo Factory last night because I had a taste for their food. They close at 9pm. At 8:30 PM, they were already closed with the door locked and leaving....they ran out of chicken. Bottom line, once they actually have food prepared and available during the business hours they advertise, I would give this place 5 STARS. Great people run it and the food is delicious. Love the fried Yuca and the salad to go with the chicken. PLEASE GET YOUR TIME MANAGEMENT TOGETHER!!! I DRIVE A LONG WAY TO COME TO YOUR RESTAURANT. THANKS. :-)

Food is still awesome but when you go bring your patience (they sometimes get behind with large orders) and bring cash because their credit card machine seems to be broken more than it works.

  • Dan L.

I got the half chicken meal and the chicken was very moist and tasty with the rub they used. For the price and the portion size it is a very good alternative then going with the usual fast food hamburger. The two dipping sauces they provide add some extra flavor to the Chicken. Seating is limited but they do take out orders also. I will be returning whenever in the mood for peruvian chicken. I do prefer this location over the Sterling one.

Ok.... First of all this place is located in the black hole plaza that eats new restaurants like a true movie scene. At the corner with a not so great sign and a half descent look inside you open the door and you smell nothing but a delicious feast about to be devoured by a hungry ashburnite. Obviously you have your doubts since all the restaurants that open in this plaza die within a three month period, and have a mediocre at best rating. I ordered a half white meat chicken with rice and plantains, I was with my son, he ordered the same; it was a cold sunday night around football night time We waited 10 minutes I guess because of the plantains, but oh my! the plate I ate was so delicious. Rice which has some vegetables like carrots and peas was truly comforting. Chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection. The plantains were heaven and when you put this i dont know what type of two little sauce they gave you on your chicken ( I guess mayo and some secret inca spicy sauce) then you feel like you are eating a royal incan chicken. Please don't expect a citronelle upscale place with neat walls and premium service. This is a hole in the wall that needs to be reserved for the locals. It kinda reminds me of havana restaurant in Atlanta ( A true foody will know what i am talking about) Happy eatings earthlings!

I went there this evening after reding yelp reviews. When I arrived at 8:30pm, the Open sign was lit but all the chairs in the restaurant were up. I asked a person standing inside if the restaurant was open. Turns out they were but only for take out. I ordered e quarter rotisserie chicken with fries and cole slaw. The chicken was hot and moist. The steak fries were good as was the cole slaw. The ambiance leaves something to be desired. Sparce decorations and limited seating if the chairs were down. The delicious smell of wood charcoal rotisserie chicken wafting in the air lures you to the chicken rather than the other entrees. I'll have to try other menu items the next time.

The Pollo Factory has the best Peruvian rotisserie chicken this side of the equator. Their birds are always crisp, juicy, and flavorful. Unlike some of the competition, these guys use real charcoal - you can see the bags sitting on the floor. This is part of what makes the chicken so good. And the goodness doesn't stop there. The yucca tastes fresh and crisp. And the chicharron con yucca is also delicious. Part of the beauty of The Pollo Factory is that it's a family owned and operated business. I've been a regular since they opened in Ashburn, and it's always the same familiar faces happily serving their customers. To those dissing the ambiance of The Pollo Factory: you live a sheltered life. You won't find many other pollerias that are as clean and bright as this one. It's a polleria, not a country club folks!

Good Food - check Good Service - check Clean - check These are the important things when you go in a restaurant and is pretty much all I ask for. The manager there said they had just opened so they are limited to thier signature chicken with sides, so I plan on coming back when they are in full swing to put a full five stars up as that was my only complaint. Other than that, the 1/2 chicken with yucca and plantains is the best I have had. I am glad there is finally a good one of these on this side of 28 so I don't have to trek accross that traffic to a Peruvian restaurant.

  • Golden S.

The food ROCKS! The prices ROCK even better. Who cares about the people at the counter...hell, if you paid 6-7 bucks for food, how much do you think the counter people are paid to have all that great of an attitude. You can't have everything perfect. Give me good food at a good price and I can help the counter person out with the attitude issues. You can't change food quality and prices if they're bad... forget trying that. I can feed a family at this place for 20 bucks and get good food too. For me that's a winner!. I LOVE it!!!!!

Been twice both at lunch time. The first time we walked in and they said they had no chicken ready and it would be a 15 minute wait for some. We turned around and left. The second time we went they didnt have chicken ready. Decided to wait for 5 minutes. As we ate more folks piled in. Many were told they had to wait for chicken, others were told that they were out of white meat. The food was OK. The value is average. Its no pollo rico if thats what you are hoping for; however, they do offer more sides. The shop is also very small and cant sit but 2 dozen people inside. I would not recommend during lunch time.

  • Candice B.

Yum! I was so glad to find this place so close to work. El Pollo Rico is the all time best but this place is a close 2nd without going out to Arlington. For lunch they have a quarter chicken and two sides for $5.99 or you can get a half chicken for a dollar more. The chicken is juicy and packed with flavor and the yuka was awesome as well. Its a fairly new location, i went for lunch one day and the guy working (I'm assuming the owner) sat next to me and chatted about the other location they had and how he was concerned people didn't know about this one yet. They give you A LOT for what you pay for and are stingy or charge you extra if you ask for more of the little spicy green sauces. I will for sure be back when I want my chicken fix.

So I ordered a half chicken meal to go yesterday for lunch and it was so good. I haven't tried this Peruvian chicken place before and I had been wanting to try it for a while. The place and the atmosphere is really laid back and easy going. The people were really nice and answered all my questions I had about the menu. I did have to wait about 10 minutes for my food but it was totally worth it because the chicken was very fresh (they had just cooked it). I would definitely recommend this place to my friends who enjoy Peruvian fare.

  • Ken T.

Pleasantly surprised, chicken was excellent. Great lunch spot, seating was very sparing and tough if you have a family, more of a pick-up joint if you have more then four people for sure. Sides were average quality, but the chicken was absolutely sumptuous!

  • Al S.

I work in Arlington and am a big fan of El Pollo Rico, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a Peruvian chicken place right here in Ashburn. I stopped in on the way home from work and the workers were very friendly. I took some chicken and sides (rice and black beans) home. Everything was great, including the green spicy sauce. After a few good take-out experiences, my wife and I returned the other night to eat-in, and they now have some Peruvian dishes in addition to the chicken. We split some chicken and Lomo Saltado. The Lomo was excellent also. Not too many tables but it's never been too crowded since I think most of their business is take-out. Prices are great too.

This place is fantastic. Just as good as pollo rico in Arlignton. Just hope Ashburn can support this kind of restaurant, the shopping center they are in does not have the best track record.

  • Miguel C.

After playing with my groupon app I found this place. I really liked the chicken, it was well prepared and it was fresh. Yes, it took a while to make but it was definitely worth it and the drive from Fairfax. I didn't try any other item on the menu but if it's like the chicken I would be there again. The green and white sauce were delicious. The fried yuca was great and the plantains too. The menu didn't have prices so maybe that's something to improve.

Delicious chicken, love the Yucca. I strongly recommend getting extra Yellow sauce if you order to go, totally worth it!

I don't think the Pollo Factory will be in business long if they continue to not have chicken to sell. My son and I tried to have lunch at The Pollo Factory at 1:30 today. Upon ordering a whole chicken we were told that they did not have a whole chicken to sell. I guess I should have asked for two half chickens but I suspect the answer would have been the same. It was very disappointing since the aroma of the cooked chicken was good. So be sure to call first if you want chicken from The Pollo Factory. Unfortunately when it closes it will be blamed on the location and not on the mismanagement.

This might be the best Peruvian chicken I have ever had. The establishment is nice and clean and the staff was friendly.

Pros: Good tasting food. Very juicy and fresh whenever we get the chicken. Cons: We only got 7 plantains (small pieces) when we ordered a whole chicken meal. And it's 2.99 if you order it separately. Rip off! Ordered Chaufa as a side for dinner. It was VERY dry and inedible. Reason we were given: it's a lunch dish. So then why serve it to someone ordering dinner? It should have been tossed. Edit: After being contacted by a manager, I have to increase the stars in my review. Customer service done right. We have continued to eat here, and the quality of the chicken is always excellent. Now to try other dishes

We had dinner here on a Friday evening. It was not too busy, as just a couple other families were dining during our visit. The dining area is informal, relatively small (about eight or so tables), and everything appeared very clean and tidy. The employees were polite and friendly. The menu is currently limited to quarter, half, and full chicken dinners (each with two sides), chicken sandwiches or chicken salad. They also have a couple of kids menu items, cheese quesadilla and a hot dog dish. We ordered three chicken dinners (two quarters and one half to be split among us) and the cheese quesadilla. The chicken, rotisserie style, was moist with a slightly spicy seasoning. They offered several options for side dishes- we were feeling adventurous and tried the fried yuca- very good! They served the yuca with two sauce options- a very spicy green sauce and a mild dressing sauce. The other sides that we ordered include black beans, steak fries, and rice- all were good. The portion sizes of both the chicken and sides were much larger than Boston Market. Total price for five of us was $25. (we only ordered cups for water- they had a limited beverage selection, mostly sodas.) Overall, a pleasant visit and we hope to return.

Only have one experience so far, but that one experience was a great start to hopefully many more!! chicken is awesome, hot and mild sauces are perfect and the sides we tried were; beans, rice, plantains & coleslaw, all were perfect and the prices are spot on!! they are closed in the afternoon and I was told the last batch of chickens come out at 8 PM., so don't be late!!!

I miss Pollo Rico so much from when I lived in Arlington and this place fills the void! I've only had take out from there 1 time so far, but plan to go back often. I had the chicken, fries, and plantains... and the yummy dipping sauces. My kids loved the chicken too and they can be picky when it's anything other than chicken nuggets. I really hope this place survives because that's a tough location and would love to see some smaller restaurants make it in Ashburn for a change. Give it a try and then spread the word!

With all the great reviews people have written, me and my wife took advantage of a 'Groupon offer' and wanted to try out this place. Upon arriving Pollo Factory at about 8:25PM - the front door was locked and was told by an employee that they were closed even though they have signs upfront that they were open until 9PM. The only explanation given to us was that they don't have any more chicken to sell! What a let down! Really DISAPPOINTED about this place......

Wow! I bought a whole rotisserie chicken with sides of rice and beans to go for the first time tonight. This chicken is rocking my mouth as I type this!!!!! It is really, really good. So good that I had to come on yelp and type up this review this instant. I feel like I'm cheating on my husband with Peruvian chicken right now. Ha! The hours are limited. I think they close for a little siesta in the late afternoon. At 4:50pm, I wanted to go in and see what The Pollo Factory had to offer. I found the door locked so I started to walk away when an employee came running to tell me that I could wait inside when they open in 10 minutes. I thought this was a very nice gesture since I was by myself and it was dark out. No wonder why he was all smiles when I told him that I hadn't been there before and that I wanted to know about the menu. He knew I was in a for a real treat! I knew I was in for a real treat just by the smell of the place. It makes your mouth water. The price is great. The chicken is delicioso!!! I don't know what that green sauce is that they offer on the side, but it is spicy, spicy and I love it. At 5pm, there was already a line to the door! So yes, I had no idea what I was in for when I was considering bringing home a chicken for my family. I am so glad that I stopped in there on a whim. The chicken here reminds me of the chicken that I've eaten at a RIO Brazilian Steakhouse in Myrtle Beach. I think they also offer delivery which is a huge plus for me as we like to order-in. I love the Pollo Factory. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes and sides. Yum!

Finally hada chance to taste the lomo saltado! It was super good. I have been meaning to get to this restaurant for the past couple of weeks and they did not disappoint. Will be visiting again soon (ordered take-out).

The flavor out of the chicken was alright... but the food itself was not that great. The fried yucca was dry, overcooked, and hard. The chicken was also dry, and while it had some flavor, I expect a lot more out of a place with such a good rating. The rice was dry, but it tasted OK. We did order delivery, so that might have played a part in it due to the slow service from both the restaurant and delivery service. When we received our food, there wasn't any sauces to help with the dryness of the food either, which was a huge letdown. All in all, none of us in the office thought it was worth the time or money and we won't be ordering from here again... which is very unfortunate, as we're always looking for new places to order lunch from.

The food is really good, really clean and the delivery is fantastic... I always send instructions on how to separate the food and they do a good job following it. Not giving a 5 stars only because they charge for delivery... Other than that... They are the best!

Tried the pollo one night as it was next to my hotel. Not bad, but a little overdone and short on flavor. The sauces did help, but just not impressive. Platino frito was good...and made a nice breakfast as well. Salad was ok, but tiny! Im spoiled by my old fave - pollo rico but arlington is a long haul for a pollo. There are others to try in the area so i likely wont repeat.

The Pollo Factory serves Peruvian chicken, which I enjoyed; however, the long wait to order was a pain. I had the 1/4 rotisserie with black beans and white rice, which I found to be very good. The cleanliness of restaurant is average at best. The fountain drink area is sticky and could be improved with a simple wipe down. There are maybe seven tables and two booths in the small dining area, but there are additional outdoor tables as well. Employees are not exceptionally friendly, but they are quick with food prep.

Don't get me wrong-the chicken is pretty tasty, just a little dry....I once tried 3 rotisserie chicken places in one week, and got to compare the tiny differences. Their chicken is a little salty on some days.

  • Baby L.

The chicken is like a Boston Market chicken with a more flavorful exterior. Once you peel the exterior and the seasoning, it's a big, fatty, plain tasting rotisserie chicken. If you like rotesserie chicken, you'll love this place because they give you a lot of it and it's fresh. We weren't interested in any of the sides so we didn't get any.

This place has great, charcoal grilled, rotisserie chicken that was some of the best I've ever tasted! The atmosphere is lacking but the service was quick and friendly and when the food is great, atmosphere is not all that important to me. I ordered the half pollo meal and it was big enough for my wife and I to share and the $9.50 price is hard to beat on dinner for two! The half chicken was cooked perfect and came with two sides. I ordered the house salad which was nothing special and the fried yucca. I'd never tried yucca before but many reviewers said it was good so I gave it a try and was not disappointed. The fried yucca was kind of like thick cut steak fries and didn't taste much different from good, hand cut fries. I liked the green (hot) and the white (creamy garlic) sauces for the yucca but the chicken was so flavorful it didn't need much sauce. We will not be living close by to this place but if we get out here near Dulles, we shall return for more Pollo!

Slop on a sub roll. Stopped by for lunch and noticed they had a chicken sandwich special that they advertised as including two sides but only received fries. As usual order, sit down, and get ready to wait for the lazy guy behind the counter to get out of his own way. Got home opened up the box and the sub roll to see a mixture of mostly mayo, mustard, some type of shaved cheese, and tiny bits of thigh meat chicken. When I say tiny I mean tiny it was more condiments than anything else. See for yourself in my pictures. I will be avoiding this place, you do as you wish.

I had a half chicken combo with fries and chaufa rice. The chicken and fries were on par with any other peruvian chicken place around, but I didn't care for their chaufa rice very much. It wasn't as fried and crispy as I prefer it, like it is at Guapo's in Herndon. The other bummer was the service. After ordering, it was super confusing and took pretty long. It wasn't awful, but I doubt I'll go back since I usually get my peruvian chicken fix from Guapo's.

I've come here quite a few times after writing my initial review and I'm sorry I have to report this but the quality of food I initially experienced has gone done. I mean the plantains and rice were dry, like they had them sitting out for most of the day. However, the chicken was still pretty tasty, thus the reason I gave it a three star rating and nothing lower. I mean I just haven't been impressed with my meal the past few times that I've come. I'm not sure what's happened to this place but I hope it gets back on track. Initially this was one of the "it" places for me when it came to Peruvian but now this place is more of a convenience than anything else. Also it is more like a hit or miss, but lately its been misses :(.

I can't think of anything I don't love about this food, I've tried the pollo asado from Leesburg to Centreville and there's none better. Chicken is Juicy, flavorful perfectly prepared on the rotisserie, the yucca and beans are the perfect complements. My son and husband devour the lomo soltado, they love the tender rich meat over rice and fries. I eat here weekly and couldn't be happier that we have authentic delicious Peruvian cuisine here in Ashburn!

The food is very good. The service is friendly but very slow. The time stamp on my receipt was 6:22, and I was the only customer in the place. They disappeared into the kitchen and came back out to hand me my food at 6:46, so 24 minutes. The carne asada, the chicken quesadilla, the chicken, and the yucca were all delicious. Beware the green sauce - it is VERY spicy! We will probably be back just because the food was so good and the prices were very reasonable. I'll just make sure to go earlier and plan ahead for the long wait for the food.

  • S. O.

Not sure if I came here on a bad night or what but it was not impressive. The mild and spicy sauces were not flavorful and very watery. I didn't taste the charred flavor you normally do on the chicken either. The employees are nice but service is super slow. This place was pretty disappointing.

  • Mike R.

Tried both the lomo and pollo saltado. Both were middle of the road, so I wouldn't come back for those specifically since we have another favorite place locally for those dishes. The sauce was heavy on soy sauce which overpowered the rest of the flavors. Both meats tasted kind of tough, but not chewy if that makes sense... like kind of dried out. Vegetables were good and so were the fries and rice. Portions were generous. Overall, I wasn't too impressed, but I've had worse. The green sauce was great, the yellow sauce was good too. I'll probably come back at some point to try the rotisserie chicken because it is near my house and it smells good. If the chicken is good this place will be a winner with the two tasty sauces to go with it... 2.5 stars, rounded up for the green sauce... which was green sauce perfection.

I'm giving it a 3 star because we've been coming here for 3 years now, food is good BUT staff is always rude. We ONLY keep coming back bc we love the chicken and yuca and feel that it's the best chicken place in the Ashburn/Leesburg area. There are times that yuca tastes as if it was from day before and the microwave it but the pollo is always fresh. The place needs to be a little cleaner too. They don't wipe off tables or chairs after someone leaves.

I love this place and take guests or friends new to the area here. They serve big portions of sides and main for cheap and their sauce is great and the chicken is fantastic. Compared to Roxy's in landsdowne, though, there are tradeoffs. Roxy's has better yucca (less dry, evenly cooked) and even better tasting sauce, but their portions are way smaller. Pollo Factory is great when there's a soccer game on, but otherwise seems to play judge drama shows in Spanish. So it's a mixed bag atmosphere. Go for the food.

Not the best Peruvian chicken that I've had. Service was slow and they didn't even have Inca Cola (at least from what I could see) Not a big place, and no big rotisserie in the back cooking chicken. But it smells great from outside. Overall the chicken is decent as well as the sauces. There is better out there though. I ordered the quarter chicken with a side salad and yucca fries. The salad was bad, with a poor mans ranch dressing on top. As I said before, the chicken was descent, but lacks the kick Peruvian chicken is known for. Price was reasonable. Limited seating inside. A plus to the restaurant is that there are more options than the traditional Peruvian rotisserie. I saw a chicken sandwich that looked really good. If I were to go back, I'd probably try that. This place has the potential to be a hit because of its location. A growing area with a variety of options to eat, this could definitely be a go to spot in the future if things get better.

Best peruvian chicken ever! Chicken is so juicy and flavorful. It has converted my picky, tofu exclusive, 1 percentile weighing toddler to eating more meat! Hooray! Very well priced! And their yuccas have that melt in your mouth feel when fresh from the fryer. Their fried seafood platter is PLENTIFUL, all their portions are generous. My point: just come get some chicken, it is the BEST!

Fantastic Peruvian chicken joint. Ordered the whole chicken with fried plantains and French fries. Everything was great. Went in Friday for lunch; it was busy but the food was served up within 5 minutes. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The plantains were amazing and the French fries were surprisingly good. They give each order (eating "in") two giant squeeze bottles of sauce; one spicy, one sort of sweet/tangy...both are delicious. There aren't a ton of seating options so that may be an issue from time to time. And if you have more than 4 people in your group you won't be sitting together. The prices are pretty good (I got two meals out of the order for $16). All in all I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I will definitely be back.

I have been a Peruvian or Brassa type chicken fan for a long, long time- over 20 years and this place is the second worst I've been to. It's just....boring. The seasoning on the chicken is bland and the sides are either average at best or bad. The yucca is soggy most of the time and the sauces are not good at all. There are so many better choices than this place. Heck, even in Ashburn there is a better choice- Firebrick Chicken on Ashburn road is way, way better than this.

Okay, believe it or not, in all of my foodie adventures, I hadn't experienced "pollo peruviano" until this visit to The Pollo Factory. Although I enjoyed my food overall, I'm going to be cautious and award 3 stars, as I have quite a bit to aspire towards in my pollo adventures, in looking to be Bobby K.'s pollo protegee. I partook in a Cuarto Pierna, or a quarter chicken leg/thigh. It was definitely juicy and tasty, but it seemed pretty salty, so we shall see if subsequent visits to other similar pollo joints yield the same Na factor. As for sides, I tried the Platanos (fried plantains), the black beans, the rice, and the fried yuca. The plantains were fresh, juicy, and had lots of sweet/savory flavor, but not the best I've had. The black beans were pretty salty, yet strangely bland. The rice was...rice. I really liked the yuca, especially doused in the delicious green spicy-ish sauce. I didn't care for the yellow sauce, too creamy for my taste, but again, I'll need to compare it (and the green sauce) to other pollo places. We also ordered a side of the "tortillas," which were thick, pupusa-like corn patties, perfect for smothering in green sauce, beans, and pollo, but they grew cold very quickly, and everyone knows a cold corn tortilla is a no good tortilla. Service was friendly and fairly efficient. I will report back with future pollo reviews, but here marks the beginning of an era.

Love this place. Best part is unlimited green and yellow sauce ! The chicken is awesome and flavorful and the fries are freshly always made to order. The loaded quesadilla is also delicious. You Definitely have to try this place love this place :) also you can't beat the prices they have.

So far this is the best tasting Peruvian chicken place that I've been to in this area. The chicken is really good. Juicy, not dried out. The best side is the chicken fried rice! Yes, have chicken with your chicken! :)

I entered and all the employees seemed to be on break. An older gentleman came over to take my order of whole chicken , yucca and plantain. Service was blah. I didn't feel welcomed at all. The chicken was dried as if it had been sitting out for awhile. Yucca hard and plantain ok. Green sauce was way off. Didn't taste like other green sauces I have tried at the other 2 peruvian places I frequent. I won't be back. First visit was horrible.

Disappointing! My food was clearly not fresh and it was reheated. The rice was not even heated all the way through and I got some big clumps of cold rice. I ordered an alfahor for desert, a latin american cookie. It was so stale that after I took the first bite I had to spit it out. The only reason I did not ask for a refund was that I had ordered take out. NOT going back to this place ever!

This is our favorite Peruvian chicken place, and we've tried all of them in our area. The chicken is always juicy (other local places can be a little dry sometimes), and the seasoning is excellent. If you go, you have to get the yucca fries, which are yummy and crispy - just right. We always get a whole chicken, perfect for a family of four. Love this place!

This restaurant has a vibe that takes you straight to another world! It isn't fancy but the food id hot, delicious and authentic! The prices are good and the staff are very accommodating. If you're stopping in on your lunch break, call ahead. You may find there's a slight wait but it's worth it! :)

So, I'm a pescatarian who went to the Pollo Factory with a group of co-workers. Whatever, I'm flexible, no big deal. We get to the Pollo Factory and and the menu looks like an alternate universe In-and-Out. Small and Short, with just the essentials. The dudes running the counter were cool, and I asked them to give me a veggie bowl. And they obliged with black beans, rice and layered lettuce on top. If you like spice, the pale green sauce will light your mouth (and maybe ass if you're delicate) on fire - it is so good! The rest of the group got chicken. One person got a sandwich, one got a 1/2 chicken and two got chicken and steak sandwiches. The portions are massive, and we all spent the rest of the afternoon with a serious hurt on. Why do I only give this place 3 stars? Well, for myself, its just the limited options (not Pollo Factory's fault, I mean the name says it all). And the rest of the group absolutely loved their food. But, a star is taken off because one of the guys had to wait about 20 minutes for his food (probably a good 10 minutes after we got ours). And he ordered the same thing as someone else, so go figure. Its not a place you would come for the ambiance. Its strictly about the food. ...and the mad green sauce.
