Fantastic Manhattan style pizza just like NY!

I ordered a couple pizzas one weekend and figured I'd try this place out. The steak & cheese pizza was actually pretty good but when I tried the cheese pizza it was as bland as the cardboard box it came in. The taste of the sauce was practically nonexistent. Maybe add a little more sauce to your pizzas? Oh and the wings were if you believe it soggy and dry??? Soggy on the outside and dry on the inside. I really had high expectation after reading all the good reviews...too bad.

Not only is Manhattan awesome pizza but staff is awesome and owner is generous. Thanks Jack for always supporting everything rowing! Briar Woods High School Crew Team

Not a happy customer! Pizza arrived luke warm. Hardly and meat topping. Slices cut like someone was on acid. Crust way undercooked. Oh well we have given them 5 chances. The other existing reviews do not reflect the truth. They used to be great years ago not so today. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Best NY style pizza in Northern VA. prices are very fair, not like many of the competitors.

My family and I have enjoyed Manhattan Pizzeria on and off for the past dozen years we've lived in Ashburn. The pizza is pretty good, and comparable to a number of actual New York pizzas I've eaten during my forays into NYC. It's always a good sign when you need a napkin to blot up the oil that sits on top. The inside of the restaurant isn't any great shakes. It has standard tables and chairs that aren't overly comfortable, but you're not there for the decor. I'd actually recommend using their delivery service, unless you like sitting in a dimly lit room with loud children shrieking at various tables. It's definitely a family place. The tables can be pushed together to hold more than 20 people, and I've seen this done on several occasions. Delivery service has never been a problem for us -- they've always been timely and the food has been what we've ordered and it's never been lukewarm or cold.

Excellent excellent excellent pizza! Oh my god, after living here for 15 years (originally from Queens, NY) I've always longed for pizza that comes close to my childhood. I finally tried this place and after the first bite into that slice, it threw me back- waaaaaay back and I started to tear up a little. I was so happy, I set the slice down and told it how much I loved and missed her (yes, pizza is a woman) and slowly savored every bite. For once, I didn't need any toppings, spices or gadgets to make this pizza taste any better. You can't go wrong with their plain cheese pizza- which by the way is just amazing. You'll have to dab the oil, BUT that's part of the reason why we New Yorkers fold our pizza, amongst other reasons of course. Service is excellent, they have live live music at times and the food is always fresh and delicious. I'm just sad I didn't try this place sooner.

Food was cold and order was wrong. Don't waste your time.

Food was okay, service was less than stellar. Tried to use their "welcome to the neighborhood" free pizza coupon, along with buying another pizza at full price and have it delivered. I was rudely told by a server, a supervisor and the manager that even though I was paying for one pizza to be delivered I had to come in and carry out the other because of the coupon. She also implied that were I ordering "more" they would be able to overlook the restriction. Last order ever from this place!

Oh. My. God. I've lived in A-burn for 6 freaking years and I've NEVER tried this place!?! Shame. Shame. Shame on me. The pizza was riDUNKulously delicious. It reminded me of the days I used to get drunk and crave something greasy and awesome.. But I was sober and it tasted THAT good. Yep, this is hangover-cure good. Pregnancy craving good. Starving and wandering through the streets for a week and being the first sustenance you come upon good. Mmmmm. My boyfriend grew up in Queens so needless to say he's a pizza snob and knows his way around a good pie and he LOVED it. Do your tummy a favor and order a house salad with chicken on it too- it knocked my freakin socks off with how awesome it was.. for a dollar they put like easily a breast & a half of scumptiously seasoned and marinated tender chicken on top of nice greens with roasted red peppers. Unbelievable. What the hell can you get for a DOLLAR these days?? Four shriveled mystery-meat nuggets at mickey d's? Pass. And to think... It's right next to Chin Chin cafe and I never paid attention to it. Never again, hands down our new favorite pizza!!

  • Sandy M.

The pizzas are good. We have also tried spaghetti with meat sauce, buffalo wings, and the chicken Slouvaki ...nothing wow, but good. Chicken Parmesan is with chicken breast that is unbreaded, healthier version, but bland... Dine in is quicker, but cramped tables in small space. Delivery is super super painfully sloooowww...over an hour on multiple occasions.

I used to work around the corner from this place and have ordered carry out quite frequently. They tend to nickle and dime at certain times when they feel like it, such as charging for cheese on the spaghetti. But they have made special requests such as extra garlic bread in place of salad. They are my favorite wing place in the area as of right now. Overall I am very satisfied with the service and would recommend this place for a quick decent bite at a decent price.

I enjoy my food more when I get good service. I had several pizzas from here and they taste pretty good. But they always overcook/burnt the bottoms more than I liked. So I thought I would mention this when I ordered but they tended to ignore my requests. In a manner of fact way, I brought this to attention of the manager/owner - he was so rude about it. I told him to keep the pizza and never went back. Bad experience.

I've never stepped foot in here; we get delivery or my husband picks it up on the way home but boy, they have the best pizza I've tasted since I moved to this area 3 years ago. They deliver quickly too! In summary: The pizza is greasily delicious. They offer quick delivery That's all I have to say.

I've been going to Manhattan (what the locals call it) since it opened. The pizza is delicious & the wait staff friendly. But there's a big change at Manhattan that makes it more than just another pizza joint: LIVE MUSIC! My family (3 adults, a teenager, & 2 10-or-unders) went for pizza on a recent Sunday night. What a pleasant surprise when we saw a sign on the front door that told about CELIA who would be playing guitar & singing every Sunday evening! Believe me when I tell you, this made our experience at Manhattan brand-new & so much more than just grabbing a slice. Celia has a beautiful voice (she made the American Idol contestants pale in comparison). She sang her own material (she write her own songs, too?!) as well as covers such as Revolution by the Beatles & a droll rendition of T-Pain's "Buy You A Drank" done in her own folky way that I wish she'd record because I like it better than the original! Here's an unintended side effect of Celia's performance: the restaurant was full of families with small children in highchairs & all the kids were entranced with the music! No crying babies here. Everyone big & small was having a good time. Celia had an empty pitcher nearby onto which she'd taped a self-portrait with the words CELIA'S COLLEGE FUND. We gave generously! This girl is special & a true local talent. There's also a magician, Sly, who goes from table to table wowing kids & adults alike with his sleight of hand. Could we really be having this much fun in boring old Ashburn on a Sunday night? WOW! So this will be our Sunday dinner from now on. The prices are competitive & the pizza is almost just like New York. But for me & my family, the big draw is CELIA!

Extremely tasty soulvaki and pizza. The chicken cheese steak and meatball subs are also dynamite. The staff is always friendly and the food is always top-notch. Easily one of my favorite spots in Northern Virginia.

Hands down, Manhattan Pizzeria is the best place to get a pizza in Ashburn area. Everyone at the office loves this place. We will not order from anywhere else but Manhattan Pizzeria.

  • Alexa M.

We're huge fans. The pizza is great (a touch greasy, but still.) Pepperoni rolls--yum! Salads also great. We've been eating there and ordering there for years. A few spotty deliveries, but 99% excellent everything.

I just ordered 2 pies from here and unfortunately the pizza does not live up to the name manhattan pizza. Having had pizza from all over the world I would like to think of myself as a bit of a connoisseur... The edge of the crust was very dense and hard to eat and while the bottom of the pie was thin enough to be NYC pie it left a chalky aftertaste in my mouth. The sauce was pleasantly tasty... What little there was on there and the cheese was chewy and had no flavor. 1 star for promptness 1 star for the sauce. I did not eat in nor did I eat anything other then the pizza.

Great place, good food, and speedy delivery (even to Lansdowne, yippee). Some of my favorites here: The "low-carb" pizza (doesn't mean low cal...but so what)- wheat crust, cheese, light sauce...ask for it well-done and you'll be just as much of a fan of it as I am. The mezzaluna calzone- various cheese, artichoke, and spinach. Divine, and still piping hot when it gets to the door with the delivery man. Grilled chicken salad- FINALLY a place that realizes a better salad doesn't mean more lettuce, but instead, more chicken. Yippee. Even when they've been super busy, the longest door-to-door delivery has been 45 minutes, which is amazing for the area. Defiantly a new favorite, and another reason to add to your list of "reasons to go to the local establishments"....

  • Tom M.

A better choice for delivery than Domino's, PapaJohn's, or Pizza Hut. They make a nice cheesy pie here and you can often find a deal in the local paper. An added bonus is that my 3 yo with an advanced pizza palette enjoys their slices immensely.

had a horrible experience trying to order from this place! We waited over an hour for our delivery..ended up having to call TWICE to find out where our food was. There are a lot of restaurants in the area that taste better and have better service...dont waste your time people!!!!!!

I signed up for an account just to write about how great this place was. I was starving at work and ordered chicken parmesan. It is delicious!!! And I got a TON of food! I will be ordering again!!!!

  • Brooklyn R.

A nice staff. Definitely have delicious chicken fingers and some of the best french fries! I love the small scale family feel of the restaurant. They can be a bit stingy though- charge almost a dollar for any additional sauce you would like on the side and that's a bit steep for the amount you get!

Now this is pizza. I could eat their plain cheese or pepperoni pizza everyday. That's how much my family and me love it. The subs and pasta and salad are good too but the pizza is #1 in my book. The crust is thin and crispy. Yea it may be a bit greasy, but all great pizzas are suppose to be that way. I'm glad I live close by because when my hubby takes my car and my daughter and I need to eat, we just walk over and dine. Everyone is really friendly. When you are there you really are family.

Best pizza in the DC area by far! Doesn't look so special from the outside, but it really is. Pizza is the best, but I have had a few other items, and have been pleased with those as well.

If you live in Ashburn or Landsowne do yourself a favor and forgo the banal corporate generalities like Dominoes, Pizza-hut and Papa Johns and order a pizza from Manhattan Pizzeria. They make the best pizza in town, their prices are competitive, and their delivery times are extremely quick.

I would like to start off by saying i enjoyed the food here plenty of times why only one star because of the customer service i revived today by a women name jeannie I placed an online order and it didn't send my street number so after about an hour or so i called the store to ask about my delivery and Jeannie started to yell and scream saying its all my fault and that i couldn't cancel the order she was so rude and obnoxious

I'm from NY and I'm Italian, so that makes me a bit of a pizza snob. I started getting pizzas here a few years ago. They use great-tasting mozzarella and sauce and the crust is not too thick, and is properly chewy. Their fried calamari and salads are quite good too. When I had to go GF (gluten free), I wasn't sure if I'd be stuck making my own pizzas. Manhattan pizzeria now has GF pizza dough. You can only order one size-about the size of a medium with whatever toppings you'd like. Result? It was decent (nothing will ever taste as good as proper dough so not a criticism of the restaurant). They use frozen pre-made crusts (not a criticism), thin and crispy. The pizza cutter however did not go through each slice cleanly,so it was a little hard to separate the slices. I don't recommend eating it the next day however; typical of GF crusts it gets mushy.

Great pizza. The service is hit or miss. One visit the customer service is great and another visit the service can be horrible. If it wasn't for the quality of food I have received, I would not have returned.

Got a large one topping, onion rings, and a veggie calzone for takeout for $27. Great crust and sauce - true to the Manhattan style. Onion rings were crispy and the portions were all great (easily fed five people of various ages). Previously have enjoyed salads and the gyro, though we had to take some raw onions off. No biggie. Their sausage is tasty and not greasy. Staff was friendly and professional like you tend to find at family pizza joints. One of our favorite pizzas that continues to beat the trendy newcomers!

  • Sapna B.

Very disappointed with my experience here. Got a slice of pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad for takeout (which by the way was $11). They only offer cheese and pepperoni by the slice which is the first disappointment. But they just reheat the slices anyway so why can't you do that with other types of pizza too? The pizza crust was good but the pizza overall was very chewy and overall pretty bland. My house is a 5 minute drive from this place and the pizza was stone cold by the time I got home. The Caesar salad was below average as well. They say they make the dressing in house but it has a very synthetic and sour taste and they charge you for extra dressing. Caesar dressing is supposed to be more creamy and this was more like a vinaigrette. Won't be back here.

Awesome NY style pizza. Having tried all of them around us over the past 10 years, for carry out or delivery, this is our "go to" pizza place.

Pizza really isn't that great. Giovanni's and Rubinos are much better. The service is ok too. Not terrible. Definitely not my go to place for pizza or Italian food.

I usually order from either Manginos or Andolinis. I wanted wings and both places wings are a bit lacking in something. I decided to shoot for Manhattens. Great decision as their wings are awesome. Very good size and not over drenched in sauce. As for the pizza, they have some good specialty pizzas. Their Brooklyn bomber and the Wise Guys are some of my favorites and they have a good steak and cheese pizza too. I'll need to try their other items such as the calzones and pastas. Overall a solid pizza joint that is now on my rotation of delivery options. With this place, Manginos and Andolinis, Ashburn has pizza delivery on lock down!

I took kids here that I regularly babysit for, because their mother had three certificates given to them from a race that they'd run, each for a free small pizza. I have worked in the food industry & understand that there are people who really milk that stuff & that's annoying. But there was no limitations on the certificates - the family had earned them from the race, & frankly, Manhattan should not have offered them with no limitations (I.e. "Free with purchase of drink", or "one coupon per party", etc) if they didn't expect them to be used. Frankly, I was grateful for the certificates because I can't always afford to take those kids out to lunch, & it allowed me to do that. The problem is, I went in to place our order, informed them that I had the certificates, and I got dirty looks & blatant hesitation. I kindly pointed out that there were no stipulations on the certificates, & they honored them, but for that very reason, I won't ever go back in there. I'm not a stickler - I'm a foodie - I love to support local business, I love to try new things. This was my first time in a Manhattan pizzeria, & I will be glad to not give them my actual money in the future based on this experience.

As a consumer, one thing you can really appreciate is a business owner who is active, engaged and willing to listen to customers. Jack, the owner of Manhattan Pizza contacted me after my initial review of two stars and said that he agreed with me and that he would change his chicken parm style and go with the traditional breaded chicken cutlet and he invited me to come back and try the restaurant again. I'm glad he did and I'm glad I went back. The chicken parm was just as it should be and really tasted good. The pizza my son had was good (my kids have always liked the pizza here), my wife enjoyed her caesar salad. Our server was very busy The french fries might be the best around, in my opinion of course. Jack does a lot for the community- I notice Manhattan Pizza is always involved in fundraising for sick children, local athletic teams and leagues, etc. and it is good to have a business owner who truly cares about his neighbors. Thanks Jack and Manhattan Pizza- see you soon.

Review for delivery only. I've been ordering here since I moved to Ashburn in '98. This is one of the better pizza places in Ashburn - Rubino's is also pretty good, but I prefer Manhattan. Pizza is spot-on with NY-style thin crust and a good toppings-sauce-cheese ratio. The crust could be a little crispier, but this is fixed by dry pan-frying for a few minutes (awesome trick my FMIL taught me). It's a gamble on the sandwiches, though - my fiance got a chicken parm sub one time, and it tasted like they had baked the chicken plain, then added pizza sauce rather than marinara and a lump of barely melted mozzarella. Ick. He couldn't even finish it (and he will eat almost anything). On the other hand, that same night I had ordered a reuben, and it was perfect - a little smaller than usual (but that's what I wanted) on rye bread with Russian dressing (not mayo, ick) and corned beef. Nice and greasy. If you're getting a sandwich, try the reuben. The fries are good - they are cakey, though, so don't get them if you don't like cakey fries. Also, they deliver to me (I am three miles away) in 15-20 minutes every time.

Tonight we made our way back for a redemption trip to Manhatten Pizza. The owner didn't like my previous review and sent me a gift card and invite to get another chance.Well they added the yogurt store and cleaned the dinning room,as well as changing the ordering area.I was told that a new policy of hair restraints we be enforce, some of the kitchen people did.To no avail my wife's greasey personal pizza had a hair and tasted of rancid garlic.I had a Gyro that was ok and an order of baklava that had no taste other than sugar syrup and a hint of cinnamon.$4.79 for 2 pieces, where is the lemon & clove? It was fresh tasting though. The rude single blonde waitress stopped me long enough to complain I did not tip her enough. While the bored delivery boys horsed around and hardly did anything.I think this place needs some adult professional supervision.

I literally just received my pizza delivery but haven't eaten yet. I tasted it quickly and while it tasted pretty good, it was so cold and the cheese already hard that I have to preheat my oven to reheat everything before I can begin eating. 50 minutes for delivery which isn't terrible but they apparently don't use anything to keep it warm because the guy who delivered it was carrying it without anything (and it's 30 degrees here). I'll likely order from them again to see if this is just a fluke but I'll preheat my oven before they arrive just in case. UPDATE: The following messages were just exchanged between myself and the owner. I was already planning on updating my review so his timing is impeccable. Kristy Thank you for sharing your review with others and I as businesses owner want to thank you for being our customer . we do use heat bags to deliver our pizzas but sometimes when the weather gets really cold outside its almost impossible to get it to you dinning room hot. the drivers typically bring the pizza to your door in the heated bag no excuses for him to bring it to your door exposed to the cold temps , for that I am sorry . delivery times really vary depending on the day of the week Friday-and Saturday nights are very busy and those peek times we do our best to get the food to you on time which is typically is 45 minutes to an hour . we don't push the drivers to drive faster that would create a huge liability issue for us in fact we ask do the safe drive delivery approach , ( its not perfect ). please write me back with your address so to send you a gift card to try us out again. thank you. Jack Azar Hi Jack, First, I appreciate your message very much. Second, it's incredibly ironic that you messaged me today of all days as I just ordered from your restaurant for lunch today for the third day in a row (the snow makes for a lot of meal delivery)!! While we were eating lunch, I made the comment that I need to update my review as I'm clearly a fan. While my one complaint is still that the food doesn't arrive as hot as it should every time, the food itself is very good and that one thing doesn't prevent me from ordering. I love the variety of the food choices and everything we've tried has been consistently good (and I'm a chef and food blogger so I tend to be picky). One thing in particular that I find exceptional is that your french fries - while not hot when delivered (although I've never known any restaurant that could deliver hot fries, that would be a miracle) -are still very good! The texture is still crisp on the outside yet soft on the inside; a very difficult thing to achieve with delivered fried foods. I appreciate your offer of a gift card but because we're already fans, it's truly not necessary. The fact that you took the time to show you care about your customers shows that you're a first-rate restaurant and one that I will continue to enjoy. Cheers, Kristy Bernardo

This place is popular among my coworkers and we order from there every couple of weeks. For me, I prefer it to the big chains. So far, I've liked everything I've tried. My favorite is the cheesesteak pizza (Steak, green peppers, and onions.) Because I eat the pizza at work, it's usually room temperature when I get to it. It actually tastes good cold, and I'm not a fan AT ALL of cold pizza. This is my new go to pizza place.

Updating a previous review of Manhattan (Ashburn). As previously noted, product quality has always been superb. The issues with our experience centered around pricing and customer service. I am very happy to update this review and highlight the efforts of the manager. I was surprised to receive a note from the manager apologizing for our previous experience and noting the changes in the gluten free products. Specifically, noting that Manhattan has updated their pricing for gluten free products and corrected the differences in pricing in the various ordering mechanisms (online, phone, menu/in-person). He went above and beyond by reaching out to us personally through a couple different methods that really showed to us that he (and thereby Manhattan) does value their customers. Wife and I are very happy to be able to frequent Manhattan again!

3.5 stars Ahhhh, NY style pizza in the heart of Ashburn. We picked up a large pie to go and while by the time we got home, it wasn't as fresh (not the restaurants fault), we still enjoyed the pizza. They give plentiful toppings and the crust is thick.

  • Audee T.

The food is good; however the staff are so unorganized. Be careful when you use your credit card or bank card to order your food. They created two transactions and charged our card twice. We finally got them to refund one of the charges. Additionally, a few times we ordered, they kept messing up our orders by forgetting to deliver something and had to come back or they totally gave us something else that we did not order. I understand with good food comes busy moments but that is no excuse to mess up your customers orders multiple times or double charge our credit card. Please hire more people if you're short staff. Perhaps when we get one delivery with no issues, then I will edit the review and give them more stars for the great food.

Store front can be deceiving. If my daughter had not been craving for pizza I would never have gone in. Even the inside isn't anything spectacular. Got a personal size pepperoni, and next thing I know, I came here 2 following evenings and now I'm 10 pounds heavier. Hand made dough, perfect thickness (not too thick but a little chewy and a little crusty), very flavorful sauce, real, fresh ingredient. I was skeptical about "Washingtonian voted best pizza 2009, 2010, etc etc" but they really have something special going on

Terrible customer service. Placed online order, called to check on the status an hour and 15 mins later . First person could not find the order, and after 5 minutes put someone else on the line who told me they cancelled the order because I am too far away...per GPS, we live 4.4 miles away...thanks for the update, hope the food is better than the employees.

  • Do U Want T.

I purchased a Brooklyn Bomber and 10 wings with two different sauces. I was having a craving for some REAL pizza last night and wanted to try something new and in the area. I did a quick search for good pizza in Ashburn. So I decided to stop at Manhattan Pizza. I am always very hesitate to visit restaurants right before shift changes or right before closing it was about 5:15 p.m. (worst time). I feel like you will get poor service and old food. Stopped here with my mate, other than us being there, there was a table of whom I assume were the owners and managers discussing business. The staff in the kitchen looked busy but it didn't smell of fresh cooking pizza (should have gone with that). Since I had never been there before we asked for suggestions. So the Brooklyn Bomber it is and wings. Honestly, we do not live not five miles away. By the time we got into the house, sat out plates and loaded them up, the pizza was cold and stiff. I mean stiff like cardboard. There was very little cheese and the toppings looked like they were an afterthought and tossed on top. We added onions and green peppers that also looked like they were tossed on at some point right before getting in the box.. I then tried the wings, another disappointment. We had two sauces the sweet hot honey and bbq. When we placed our order, we said that we wanted batter on the wings. Wings appeared to be over baked with no batter and old. When you bit into them the side came off in one piece because it was dried like jerky - fresh cooked wings don't do this. The sweet hot honey sauce was very good sadly the wings had seen their share of sitting out before they entered my box. The bbq sauce was just regular. I hate that we spent almost $30 on something that threw out after the first slice. The wait staff seemed nonchalant. It made me think she was related to one of the mangers (maybe not) and didn't have to prove herself and we were an inconvenience. Sadly, we won't visit again after this experience but at lest now we know what some consider "real" pizza to taste like. Each person's taste is subjective which I know but I have had my fair share of pizza and wings and would not write a bad review unless it was just that... bad!

I stopped by with couple of my buddies on Sunday for lunch. Two of us had personal size pizzas and one had a sub. The food was AMAZING! I had the specialty Brooklyn Bomber all meat pizza and it was full of great taste and toppings. My other friend got the Manhattan Supreme which looked as darn good. Their sauce and cheese is just the perfect amount and have the perfect taste. The cheese is on the bit greasy side which I believe is real Grande and tastes delicious. We were all very happy with the food and the service which all employees we encountered seemed really sweet and all smiley. I will definitely go back whenever I'm in the area. Thank you a Manhattan Pizzeria, you now gained new customers.

I will never eat Pizza Hut Pizza again as long as theres a Manhattan Pizza near by. I absolutely loved the freshness of their ingredients! Unfortunately I forgot to snap a picture of my order but the Manhattan Supreme hands down is my favorite. The one thing I wish was different would be that the owner is often present in the store and I wouldike to see him interact with the customers more. Then last time I was there he walked by my table 4 times and never once said Hi or anything until I stopped him to tell him how much I loved the place and loved supporting small businesses in the area. Next visit ill be sure to snap a picture.

Brooklyn bomber lived up to its name. An explosion of various meats on a NY style crust. At first glimpse your left wondering, "did they have enough room for cheese?" But be warned. With every explosive bite of flavor, be ready for the aftermath of grease. I think this pizza had me use at least one trees worth of paper towels. But that's OK. I drive a Prius. Website Easy to navigate, order, and pay. I love how they approach the question of nutritional facts. "They use fresh ingredients." Despite what kids may say about pizza having all of your daily food groups. They recommend a salad with an order. Or even suggest walking to their location to earn that extra slice. Delivery. You might want to dine in. I think they've encouraged that by sending me 1 of 2 pizza uncut via delivery. Maybe a strategy to make people more health conscious and hold back from the infamous JUST ONE MORE SLICE. Or, maybe they want the consumer to be proactive and use that pizza cutter sitting in the back of the utensil drawer collecting dust. I mean I had no problem mapping out 3/4 of the pizza mine. 1/4 everyone else. "Hey that's how the pizza came...I promise.

First time trying a Brooklyn Bomber pizza and I like it. Pizza crust is just right, soft with a nice crunch. Not exactly New York pizza but taste better than franchise pizza. Delivery took 35-45mins but that's average unless you live within walking distance. Pizza wasn't fresh out oven but was still warm enough to eat.

Best pizza in the area! This is the as close as you'll ever get to NY style pizza. Me and my friend ordered two pizzas and within about 30 minutes it was at our place. The crust was a bit meh but the rest of the pizza was amazing... So good that I finished almost a whole pie then took a nap since I couldn't move.

  • Melissa L.

I love the food here! Great subs, cheese fries, and don't even get me started on the New York pizza! It's the best I had since I was in New York! It's a small place though, so carry out or delivery is best.

This place uses frozen dough for their pizza like almost every other pizza joint in the NoVA region. Automatically 3 stars, but their service is quite slow docking another. I will no longer order from this place.

Been a customer for many years since they opened, but sadly they have gone down hill ever since. I have lived here for 18 years and much better competitors have opened in the area. I just ordered a Brooklyn Bomber (all meet pizza) and I definitely get more meat on a Piasano's deluxe let alone the all meat version. Paid $20 with a discount, came fast and warm. but barely cooked as it was mushy and limp and no where near what they used to be.I could have done a frozen one better. So dissapointed.

  • Cathy L.

I was a loyal customer for 8 years, but the staff has become less and less customer friendly and the care they used to take with an order has slowly gone downhill. My delivery instructions never vary but it's always hit or miss if they'll be followed. This Jersey Girl loved knowing I'd get my taste of home. Now? Nope. Santini's gets my business from now on.

This is a hard review because I am a bit of a pizza snob and you can't get pizza down here in VA nearly close to being as good as in NY or NJ. That being said, our family is split on who has the best pizza around here. My wife and I have 4 kids. Two of our kids and myself prefer Manhattan - my wife (because she thinks Manhattan is a little greasy) prefers Emilio's. But, since this is my review - here is is my point of view. You go to Manhattan to get pizza, and its good (but you should eat it in - it loses a lot for delivery). For me, what I like the best - I think their sauce is outstanding and its just the right amount (not too much, not too little). While the dough is a little thick for me, its still very good - tastes very fresh. Their pizza is a little bit more salty (in a good way - its definitely not too salty) than some others around. I do wish they would cook the pizza's just a little longer so the pepperoni would get more crunchy -- but that's a nit. We also really like the little pepperoni rolls - but, get them to eat in, not out. Overall, we are Manhattan fans (I do argue for them to our neighbors) - its a reasonable price / quality proposition and their restaurants are family friendly (which as you can understand, is really important for us)

Delivery was quick. Ordered the Manhattan Supreme. Was very good and fresh.

The place was crowded on a Friday evening but we found a seat and were waited on right away. As a New Yorker, this is nothing like NY pizza but it was tasty just the same. Crust was a little doughy and undercooked but the sauce made up for that. Again NOT NY pizza but I enjoyed it. Long lines for people coming in for take out made our dining experience a little uncomfortable since our table was near the line.

Onion rings, wings, chicken souvlaki sanvich, and pizza were all absolutely delicious. The pizza dough had just the right amount of crunch followed by a delectable chewy texture. It takes a lot to impress my sophisticated pallet and this place was a hit. Friendly staff, great prices, and atmosphere. This will definitely be my new stomping grounds for years to come.

This is just for the pizza...Had the spinach pizza one day for lunch this week...It was spinach pie perfection...crispy crust, tons of flavor and a pretty good value. I wish we had pizza like this in Gaithersburg.

Can't Miss. This place is always spot on. And the last time I was in there, I saw they are opening a frozen yogurt place next door. If it's half as good as their pizza, we'll be in there once a week.

I'm a pizza guy, but I usually stay away from new york style pizza. I usually go for brick oven or deep dish. However, this new york style pizza from Manhattan is pretty damn good. From my experience at the Ashburn location. Each slice of pizza is greasy, cheesy, and big. The way I expect a new york style pizza to be. If you shy away from greasy foods. I wouldn't order pizza from this place. They rank high on the greasy side. Personally, I don't mind a greasy pizza. It's expected on a new york style pizza! If you love NY pizza. You should definitely give this place a shot.

I've been here many times and each time the service and the food decrease in quality. I've tried their pizza many times and I've never cared for it. It's very greasy; way more greasy than I prefer. You can hold a slice up vertically and it will drip with grease for a solid 30 seconds. Ugh. Not the type of pizza I like, However, I used to go in two times a week and get a chicken caesar salad. For the first month, the salad was great. Fresh, delicious grilled chicken, great dressing. The next couple of weeks, the salads were browner, soggier, less tasty. Last month, I went and twice, I had to wait for them to cook the chicken because they had charged me for the chicken but forgotten to actually add it to my salad. Disappointing. Especially since I'm running from the gym back to work. I don't really have the additional 10, sometimes 15 minutes to wait. I don't know if they've gotten too distracted with the froyo restaurant they're opening, but the food has definitely gone down in quality. Today I ordered the chicken parmesan for lunch. It's a large portion with 2 well sized chicken breasts, but truth be told, I'm not entirely sure that the chicken is cooked through completely. It's a little more pink in the center than I'd like and that's not due to the sauce. I did eat the pasta though, which was fine, but I mean, it's spaghetti. When you order chicken parm you're really not in it for the pasta. I think I'll take a break from Manhattan Pizza for awhile, at least until the renovations are done. By then, hopefully they'll have gotten back to normal.

I've eaten here quite a bit over the passed 15 years. Everything I have eaten there is good. Never had a bad meal. In-house service in excellent. Delivery definitely lacks. Always takes an hour to delivery and inconstant. I recommend eat in or pickup yourself. But definitely must tire!!! The best pizzeria in Ashburn.

  • Lauren C.

When we first moved to Ashburn we had almost a week of time without furniture, cooking utensils, etc. so we got to try a lot of restaurants in the area. This was a perfect one to test after a long day of unpacking moving boxes! I read the yelp reviews before we tried it and I'm so glad we did. This place is your average neighborhood pizza place. Really solid. My daughter got a kid's pepperoni pizza and my husband and I got some pizza with sausage and veggies. Both were excellent. We've been back several times. Really really good!

  • D B.

Pros: - Nice staff - Tasty pizza Neutral: - Average pizza prices ($10) for fairly good quality pizza Cons: - Incredibly oily pizza; this can be a pro if you really like it this way. Bottomline: Good atmosphere, staff, and tasty food, but if you are trying to be healthy stick to their salads and not the pizza.

I'm surprised I haven't written a review for Manhattan Pizzeria yet. This has been our family's favorite pizza place for several months now. We've never actually been in the store. We order pizza to be delivered from here at least once a week - usually for family movie night on Friday nights or whenever we have a babysitter coming to watch the kids. Sometimes when we're feeling lazy and don't want to cook, we'll order a second time in a week. Every time we have ordered, they have always told us it will be delivered, "in about 45 minutes." Every time we have ordered, the pizza guy has come zipping into our driveway about 15 minutes after we placed our order. They're FAST and CONSISTENT. The pizza is delicious - a little greasy, but we like it. Thumbs up that I don't get a headache afterwards (I get headaches from MSG, and you'd be surprised how many restaurants have MSG in their food around here, especially pizza places).

While the pizza is good their customer service is the worse I've ever experienced. The girl who answered the phone hung up on me after I asked her to confirm my address because it didn't sound like she wrote it down correctly. And sure enough she didn't because we got a call 20 mins later from the delivery man asking us to confirm where he needs to deliver to. I then called back and asked to speak with their manager. The same rude girl picked up and said I had to wait two hours cause the manager was too busy....REALLY!??? The manager called back and was apologetic and said she will have the owner call me back, and of course he never did. So unfortunately customer service is just as important as good food. So I won't be spending another penny at this place. It's a shame because my husband enjoyed their Manhattan supreme pizza, but after trying Rubinos today they have got Manhattan pizza beat not only in customer service but also all of their pizza is excellent.

This is very good pizza. Sauce is terrific with a little hint of spicy and crust is decent, but maybe a little too thick. Online ordering feature was convenient and and easy. The pizza arrived in a reasonable amount of time. All in all, a very good experience and I will most likely order again in the future.

Don't do it!!! MANHATTAN PIZZA is THE MOST NASTIEST pizza around this area!! I ordered PIZZA HUT and that was WARMER, FRESHER & MORE TASTY!!! I've eaten pizza IN Manhattan and you all should be shame to call yourself any name related to NYC

    (1)
  • Anthony D.

Excellent pizza, especially the thin crust version. Much better for eat in than take out unless you like your thin crust to get soft during transit. Service is okay. Young wait staff does not yet understand the importance of not removing a glass of beer from the table until it is EMPTY!! Good thing I didn't have my machete that day, else you would know which teenager made the crucial error in judgment.

So far we've had the pizza, chicken fingers, and zucchini sticks and they were all good. We did a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza, both had a good amount of toppings and decent crust. Surprisingly, I thought the chicken fingers were really good. I guess they weren't anything all that out of the ordinary, but they just seemed better than anything else you'd get delivered, especially from a pizza joint. Anyhow, overall a good place and probably our go-to pizza spot, unless we find something better...

A solid go to for pizza and subs in Ashburn. Funny as the turnover in this shopping center has been nuts over the years, but this place has remained a rock there. The girlfriend and I loved their pepperoni pizza as it was thick and rather flavorful. It's a simple place, what you see is what you get, but that adds to it. I have to go back and try their taco pizza, just sounds great.

I used to find a place for lunch on Sunday afternoon. I was in Ashburn and decided based on the reviews to give Manhattan pizza a shot. The pizza was great and so was the service. We tried the Quattro Formaggi and loved it. The pizza is great and I can't wait to go back!

Good pizza but terrible service. First time we ordered it took almost an hour for our pizza to show up. Tonight, ordered a pizza and waited over an hour and 15 minutes before I got fed up and told them to keep the pizza. Called after an hour and was told that the driver was on the way. Feels like the kid that took my phone call didn't have any idea about my order or any urgency on making it right. So disappointed and hungry.

You really can't go wrong here. Really everything on the menu is great and the staff is always so friendly. Great to have a non chain place around here that's actually really good!

  • Matt H.

The pizza is always very greasy and you have to dab it with a paper towel so it won't drip all over you. They do have good sandwiches and decent wings. I'm not against going here, but I've had better in the area.

    (2)
  • R K.

Cheap, greasy pizza for a lot of money compared to the other guys. You know the pepperoni is cheap when it's 40% fat...pizzas always seep through the box and are some of the greasiest I have ever seen. NY style my arse...

    (1)
  • Matt H.

Pizza is pretty good. Trieda couple of sandwiches the last 2 times and have been disappointed. The club is so so. The jersey jack is ok, but could be so much better if it was a hot sub.

  • Mike A.

This place is good. Very good for Ashburn. We frequent it for pasta and pizza, and it is very, very consistent. If you like it once, you will like it every time. The only reason that it doesn't get more **** is because I grew up in the Northeast. It would only be an average pizza/ pasta restarant in my home town. The Manhattan Special is yummy.

  • Brandon T.

Good people, hands down King of pizza, just a little expensive... But I guess you don't expect to bargain shop for a Range Rover or Benz either though.... Soft crust, great ingredients, always hot! Amazing pizza!

  • Ana J.

Love their pizza!!!! It's as NYC as it gets for NOVA. And if you get delivery it always arrives within twenty minutes, never got a cold pizza! Their Greek salad is also great.

    (5)
  • Darren G.

Overall not a bad little place out here in Ashburn. I ordered a calzone: the presentation was right, the service was good, the crust was nice, but the fillings were a little cold. Not too bad but I've had better.

  • TM B.

Seriously? People think this place has the "BEST" pizza?? My experience at Manhattan Pizza was always terrible: floppy, wet crust, mediocre sauce, and greasy, tasteless cheese. If you want delicious NY Style pizza, head to Sals NY Pizza in Ashburn. Side note, Manhattan Pizza has good salads- their house dressing is delicious.

    (2)
  • Daniel G.

Very good pizza - for Ashburn. I'm not sure its true NYC-style, however. There is table service, but its clearly a mostly takeout place.

Do not eat at this pizza place! ZERO stars for review..but you have to atleast post a star. Choose anywhere put here!!!! They have absolute no concern for customer service and the management is HORRIBLE!!!! If you have any problems with your Food...their business....they management staff will laugh at you and tell you it is not their problem! The absolute worst place for pizza on Ashburn...Guaranteed! Save your hard earned money!

  • Kevin L.

I'm a little surprised that I'm the first to get around to reviewing this place. It's a little Italian/Middle-Eastern joint serving up pizza, calzones, and pitas in the same plaza as KarateBagelsDance. You residents of the 'Burn know what I'm talking about. I've only ever been here for dinner while on duty at the fire station, but I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've tried. Admittedly, I've never had their pizza, but their calzones are large (think the size of your head) and served piping hot, with some marinara sauce. They're always ridiculously filling, and could readily make two meals. More often, though, I go for their pitas. It's pretty hard to go wrong with any of them: the chicken in the shish taouk is always tender; the gyro meat is always well seasoned and moist; and the souvlaki's divine. Plus, the portions for their pitas are also generous to the point where if our duty crew ends up doing physically intense training after dinner, I'm typically regretting my huge meal... There's not much to recommend Manhattan for its ambiance. It's plain and simple with tables and seats you'd find at any Five Guys. The staff are efficient and to-the-point. I'd consider it a get-in-and-get-out type of place that'll fill you up without emptying your wallet. As always, bonus points for sometimes offering a small discount to fire and rescue staff in uniform!

  • Saraa B.

If I lived here I would be in trouble! The pizza is so yummy!!! Jeanne is the sweetest waitress I've ever met! Oh, and the cannoli is to die for. I am thinking of placing a phone order for delivery to California :)

    (5)
  • Olivia L.

Pizzas are pretty good here but what you really need to get is their gyro.. I don't know why but it's just good.. yum. The place isn't a wowzer but it's a typical pizza place, kept pretty clean and organized. Usually whenever I'm there, it's packed due to lunch hours from the industrial parks... so you might get a little neglected. But if you come pass rush hours, they have excellent waiting staff and you might even get to talk to all of the members of the family who owns it!

  • David N.

Food was great, but when this solo Dad took his little girls to the restroom, he returned to find his table cleared and more than a whole pizza gone. The management then just decided to make a new pizza for us without asking, and then got very upset that we did not want to wait around for it. Two things; I would never jet on a tab, and my car keys where in the center of the table - really, where did they think we went? Again, just the way it was handled, and the implication that somehow this was the fault of my girls and I, left a bad taste that overcomes the food.

  • Mary Jane M.

The pizza is delicious. We order delivery to my office in Sterling about once per month. The Buffalo Chicken, Taco, and Philly Cheesesteak pizzas are the best. I would've given it 4-5 stars, but they always take a very long time to deliver (approx 1-1.5 hours). Also, I'm very annoyed that they would not deliver to my house in Sterling tonight. They said they won't deliver to Sterling on weekends. I mapped it on Google maps and it's only 4.4 miles. So, I will take my business elsewhere.

Horrible people there. Ordered 2 pizzas one gluten free. Gluten free was nasty undercooked, tasted like paste. Called to get a refund and the guy on the phone said they didn't make the pizza so they weren't responsible for it. Also continued to say that it isn't his fault my kid has an allergy, then gave the phone to someone else and continued on saying to not give my wife anything and to "hang up on that bitch". Needless to say we were not pleased. They hung up on my wife, I called back with her cell phone and they picked up and hung up right away. I called back on my cell phone and asked to talk to the owner, he called me back but flat out refused to admit that his employees are rude. He did send us a refund for the pizza like he said he would but we will never order from Manhattan again at this location or any of the others.

    (1)
  • Stephanie B.

It's hard to rate this restaurant. I've been there twice since I found out a couple weeks ago that they have gluten-free pizza. The pizza is excellent, and not too expensive. I definitely like their crust more than the Don's. But the service is truly terrible. Both times they prepared me the wrong pizza. The first time I chalked it up to their very very young waitress. The second time it happened they remade my pizza and gave me the original one for free, which was very nice of them, but the waitress was rude otherwise and forgot our drink orders. I'm thinking about trying again because I loved the pizza, but I'm not sure if it's worth having to tip them.

Get this: lip-smacking New York slices right here in Ashburn, VA!! After nearly three years of eating mediocre pizza in the DC area, my quest for a real NY style pie has finally ended with the aptly-named Manhattan Pizzeria. Coming from outside NY I never thought it would be so tough to find really great pizza in and around DC, but have honestly never had anything that comes close to Manhattan Pizzeria. The crust, sauce and cheese are perfect - and delivery is not only free but really quick - we've never waited more than 30 minutes. The owner and his family are really nice, down-to-earth people and we enjoyed eating in their restaurant as well. Put their number on your speed dial - it'll be the only pizza joint you call for delivery, trust me! :)

new BBQ pizza was TERRIBLE. pizza rolls are always good and chicken fingers were OK... all in all... we've ordered several times and they're ALWAYS inconsistent... they've also made several mistakes with out order in the past. overall, i'd order Rocco's in Leesburg or Manginos first next time.terrible disappointment .

    (2)
  • Jane A.

Great pie. Reminds me of home. Recently gone gluten free and discovered only Leesburg location offers this. Please make a gluten free pie soon. There is a huge desire for gluten free menus in the restaurants these days and there will only be more of an ask for it in the coming years. Bring it on Ashburn Manhattan.

Manhattan's our favorite local pizza joint, hands down. We particularly enjoy our pies on wheat crust (which they call low-carb), as it has a great flavor and texture. They're always running specials or advertising in the Valu-paks, so you can always get good food at a great price. I also appreciate how active the owners of Manhattan are in their community, always participating in the HOA events and supporting the sports teams. We always feel good about giving our business to this family establishment!

The pizza here is fantastic and one of my favorites in the Ashburn Village area. This is a hole in the wall restaurant and is Ashburn's best kept secret! I highly reccomend this over any national chain's in the area - try it once and you will be hooked!

    (5)
  • Allison S.

Now that American Flatbread is gone, this is Ashburns best pizza. Very good crust, chewy and crispy at the same time. The people are friendly, and the salads are pretty good too.

  • D'METRIO R.

I moved to this area 7 years ago and haven't f ound good, "authentic" NY style pizza until our family discovered Manhattan. it was featured in the Washingtonian Magazine. Since it was ranked #1 pizza for the entire area we tried it out. And it was amazing! The pizza, the service and the friendly family atmosphere topped the cake. I urge you to take your family for a very delicious and very affordable night out. Try the Wise Guys Pizza, "faghetta bout it!" Now Manhattan is our "go to" place.

  • Kim C.

My fiance and I order from Manhattan every few weeks, and the food and service is consistently very good. We've had a really hard time finding a place near Ashburn that delivers that pleases my fiance's picky tastebuds (he's Philadelphia raised so forget trying to find cheesesteaks or sub rolls that meet his standards) but he likes Manhattan. We've had a variety of items, and the only thing we didn't care for was the cheese fries but they may be better in the restaurant then via delivery. My favorite is the chicken philly with honey mustard. I agree with the other reviewer that the pizza isn't their strong suit, if you're choosy about pizza I wouldn't get theirs but it's not bad.

    (5)
  • John C.

The pizza is really good, especially for the Ashburn area, and they make a good gyro as well. The four seasons pizza with mushrooms, artichokes, red peppers, black olives, tomato and mozzarella cheese is quite tasty.

    (4)
  • Louis D.

Everything here is good, not great, but good. We usually get delivery and they're pretty quick. The pizza is what I would consider the second best in the Ashburn area (behind Johnny's NY Pizza). The middle eastern specialties are better. The Gyro's are quite good, moist and flavorful. Overall a good, reasonably priced place that you can afford to go with even a large family.

    (4)
  • J W.

Not a place to go for pizza but their gyros platters are excellent! I love the large greek salad they give you and the yummy steak fries. My little guy gave a thumbs up for the grilled cheese sandwich.

    (3)
  • Mary L.

I've pretty much tried everything on the menu and I have to say it's one of the most delicious places to eat in Ashburn. The gyro platters are delicious. Their yogurt sauce is made to perfection. The lasagna is incredible as is their speghetti. However, I think their signature move has got to be their cheesefries. I mean if you really want death by food, I'd say the best way to do it is with these fries. LEGENDARY! At less than $5, they are a steal.

    (5)
  • Ashburnian L.

I am shocked no one has posted a review about the pizza! This pizza is as close as you can get to the pizza you would eat in New York or New Jersey. I have never had anything else on the menu, but as a regular on their delivery schedule, I can assure that you will not be disappointed with their pizza.

    (5)
  • Sarah H.

This place has very good pizza! My child even prefers the authentic pizza from Manhattan Pizzeria over pizza from Dominos. I am very picky about calzones and find that the basica (cheese) calzones here are made correctly with the right ingredients and are also one of the best tasting calzones in Northern Virginia. If the marina sauce included with the calzone was less chunky and seasoned more like Italian marinara then the calzones here would get my highest rating! But all in all they are still delicious. We also like the gyro sandwich and chicken salad sandwich. We order from here every week to two weeks and have been pleased so far.

    (4)
  • Valentina P.

Their Greek pizza is the best, but any of their pizzas would be good. Quattro Fromaggi is another standout. Reasonable prices, high quality ingredients. Their gyros and antipasti are good as well. Just watch out for some of the sides. We've tried the calamari, the mozzarella sticks, a couple other things I don't remember right now, and they seem to be premade and frozen. I don't know that for a fact, it just seemed that way based on the uniformity and so-so texture. Not up to the flavorful standards they set for themselves with their pizzas, salads and entrees.

    (4)
  • Nadine A.

And sadly it hasn't gotten any better. So disappointing because we loved this place! Cheese is just awful on the pizzas now. Same attitude when greeted on the phone.

    (1)
  • Philip G.

UPDATE: They have a delivery fee now, plus the items I ordered are no longer available. The service has also not been the same, often I get an attitude when I want to use discounts that they advertise. The new fro-yo was pretty bad when I tried it. Pizza often is delivered cold, overall the pizza is just average anyway, better than dominos & nice for a quick bite/delivery but if you can drive a bit there is better available elsewhere. Price is only good with discounts, full price is not worth it.

Awesome pizza and great wings! Shish taouk chicken is amazing too. When I lived in Ashburn my wife and I would use their winter special coupons all the time. Love this place.

I was incredibly surprised with this place. I randomly came across it and didn't expect much. I am from NY so kinda a pizza snob and I was actually impressed with the slice I had here. I am going to go out there and say this may have been the closest to actual NY pizza I've had since living in DC. (huge shocker for me since this place is so far out from my home in DC). Definitely recommend a slice here! And the price was great. I think I got two slices and a coke for $5 (lunchtime).

The supreme pizza was delicious with fresh veggies and generous chunks of meat.

Pretty good pizza. Not the best but good enough for delivery on a night you don't feel like cooking! As far as fresh ingredients go though, they definitely used canned mushrooms on my pizza. That is a major turn off for me as they have a much different taste from fresh mushrooms. Over all I would recommend if you're having people over and wanna order good and affordable pizza. But not if you're looking for a deliciously above average pizza, because you won't find it here. Their salads are actually really delicious though. I love the grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing!

**UPDATE** One to three stars Manager emailed with an apology. Have to give them a second chance for listening.... Pepperoni pizza was $22. Came nearly cold. Very greasy. Dough was limp and flavorless. I even asked for well done. Not impressed at all. Frozen is better.

I took 2 little boys for a quick bite to eat -- so my review is primarily based on what we ordered and our order did not include pizza. We ordered spaghetti and gyro platter. The gyro was not very good and I have had much better. The sauce in the spaghetti was a bit too chunky, especially for kids but tasted okay. I will probably re-visit the place and try their pizza based on the other reviews.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
