Brave the wall that this hole is in! Very friendly, attentive, fast service. Wonderfully delicious food, clean and comfortable dining area. Parking is haphazard at best.
Location isn't great, just west down the street from the indoor swap meet. Everything else? Great, the food and friendly people make up for it. Great shish kabob at a nice price. I had the beef while a friend had the chicken, both tender and cooked well. Rice is primo and half the treat. Would also recommend the vanilla cola soda they have in bottle, it's imported have no recollection of the name. Only reason for four stars is that it's really a hole in the wall, but don't let that put you off.
Family based business with authentic southeastern European food. This place is very unique in their cuisine. The food is freshly made with good ingredients. The balkans bread is superior when compare it with regular buns and the best part that they made it fresh at restaurant. They are very welcoming.

This place made me sick............. Because I ate so many delicious tacos! I ordered 8 tacos of several varities, the barbacoa was certainly my favorite, tender, rich, just sooo good. Carnitas were incredible as was the al pastor. The asada was slightly tougher, but still quite flavorful. Chicken was clean and shredded perfectly. Their sauces in the condiment bar really add to each and every bite. Some have said the red sauce was to spicy, I found it to be perfect. I ended my meal with a huge smile on my face. The staff were really friendly and understood English fine, I had minimal difficulty with the all spanish menu. This is not like the gringo pleasers where everything tastes similar, truly amazing flavors. I plan to frequent this place for a long time to come.
Blah. The food was ok. Best I can say. Kind of dirty. Not very helpful. Won't go back.
Awesome! I'm from San Diego CA and this is pretty authentic Mexican food!

I just had the Steak Sandwich and it was super delicious!
The quality of a good restaurant for breakfast is directly proportionate to the number of "blue hairs" dining mid morning. Ogie's was packed with old folks! I had the traditional bacon & eggs breakfast with a never ending cup of good strong coffee. Obie's kicks ass and balls!
I called to see how I could get a copy of the menu because we wanted to order late breakfast at work. The lady that answered the phone was REALLY rude and said she "doesn't have time" to help me that I would have to go in. Umm.... I was just about to order food for 5 people at work AND get their name out there... Maybe an accessible menu online somewhere would help??? This place is always CRAZY when I go in there and if their food wasn't so good I would boycott them!

Top notch taco shop with off-the-hook pastor tacos. This place has the outdoor taco cart feel but is conveniently located indoors. Real Palapa thatching inside gives you the authentic feel and their chairs are legit and definitely look like are right from Mexico. I tried several tacos but the Pastor was my favorite. They have the 'Trompo' rotisserie too. LEGIT!! Tacos were big portions to boot. They had some good looking juices and desserts. Maybe next time? Yes, there definitely will be a next time.
I can't comment on a lot of their food items quite yet, but the smoothies here are on point! I had the Cocoloco which had pineapple, strawberries and coconut and it was seriously bomb.com . It was a little pulpy, but I kind of liked the added texture. I felt that it was a true fruit smoothie, and not some powdered crap. I'm also a fan of their strawberries and cream, but you can never go wrong with condensed milk and fruit.
So i'm visiting from the bay area and decided to eat mexican. My friends here recommended La Palapa. Being from The Bay i wasn't expecting much in utah. Enter La Palapa, i'm greeted warmly, the place seems pretty basic nothing fancy which is fine. I ordered the carne asada burrito... whoa this place is really goood. The meat had a nice sear to it and was seasoned great and the beans were soft but not overly soft, rice was cooked perfect! The quality and tsate here is just as good as the places i've eating in san diego and the bay area.. impressive. Definitely marking down to come back to this place next time i'm in Utah.

Tried Zupas for the first time and loved it. This beats the hell out of Subways. I ordered the Chicken Basil Sandwich with the Lobster Bisque and throughly enjoyed both. The place has lots of seating and a friendly and helpful staff. They do have a signs on all the tables which say "please don't save your seat" which is really strange in my opinion. I can't wait to try Cafe Zupas again on my next visit to Salt Lake City.
Healthy, fresh food. The employees at this chain restaurant are always friendly and quick to prepare my order. I've never had a problem at this location.
I love the Zupas chain...but this location needs to get it together. Every time I go in, I ORDER the same thing, but i GET something different. I order the Chipotle Chicken salad...sometimes it comes with guacamole, sometimes it doesn't...sometimes it comes with tortilla strips, sometimes it doesn't.

Amazing Comics! Hardworking Wait Staff!
I love the chain of wiseguys comedy clubs in Utah. I need to get out more to them. They always get in great comedians for shows. They have a great snack menu. Tthey only serve beer and thankfully they have some good ones. I will be back for sure.
This is a pretty small comedy club very popular among locals. We were lucky enough to see Marcus from the Last Comic Standing there last night and my face is still sore from laughing so much. They require you to buy at least one drink per person, but the prices are pretty low and tickets are $15 a pop so it's kinda cheap.

Good food.. Great staff.. Equals excellent service!! I never was a salad kind of gal until now. I highly recommend their strawberry harvest chicken salad w/ tomato basil soup. One thing: if I decide on getting just a salad, it's sometimes not big enough. I hope they consider making larger portion options. They get really busy during lunch, but the line moves very quick.
Cafe Zupas serves up freshly prepared sandwiches, soups, and salads. We ate at this location the other day for lunch and I enjoyed the a good lunch. I enjoyed the Honey Bacon Club panini with tomato soup. The chocolate covered strawberry was a delicious ending to lunch.
Asian pulled pork sandwich, nuts about berries salad and lobster bisque soup is just my personal favorite combo there but I haven't tried anything that I didn't like. Your meal comes with chocolate dipped strawberries and bread which hold the soup well and is a nice compliment. It's always busy at lunch but I can see why . The ingredients are fresh and the staff is friendly. I asked for 4 samples bc I was new to the entire thing and they were so patient with me. Maybe I came in on a good day. I'm kidding . This place is fast and taste great .

Hong Phat

This is my quick go-to place for a fast and delicious Bahn Mi. The staff are all very nice even though communication is nearly impossible. Just simply say what number of sandwich you would like and the lady behind the counter will make it. They also have some very authentic other dishes. Most of them I have not had before. The grocery side of Hong Phat is rather typical of an Asian market but they do have some very unusual items hidden here and there. Bahn Mi costs $3 and takes about 5 minutes from the time you walk in until you walk out.
I love their Banh Mi! Best hands down in town. They stuff their subs with meat and such, unlike other places. I always order the grilled pork banh mi and its consistently tender and moist, never dry meat. As for their grocery items, they have a wide variety of things. When I'm lazy to cook, I just get a whole tilapia and have them deep dry it for me. Friendly people, small place, but fairly dirty near the freezers.
This place is the closest to a great Banh Mi! I don't like the service cause sometimes old Vietnamese ladies comes and cut you off and start ordering before you. The lady that makes the sandwich is usually busy so we can't order since she's the only one who speaks English! Which sucks. And she does add more stuff for you if you ask her. The downfall is they run out of bread fast! And sometime the place gets overcrowded! Cheap food and sometimes you find a good deal on Asian food.

In and out is dangerous.. Just like your crazy ex girlfriend. The food is excellent. The staff is friendly and fast. I've never had an order wrong no matter how complicated or how much it was. I've never had anything weird happen with my food or found anything gross in it ( mc Donald's I dislike you after finding a hair in my fries and I'll never be back) Don't compare in and out to any other burger joint. It's dangerous! Smother everything animal style with extra grilled onions if you're like me and love onions and you're all set. I suggest you hit the gym double time if you've eaten here. If you don't have a gym membership maybe you should get one bc this place compares to you're hot ex girlfriend who you know is bad for you but you keep going back for more. Ask for the double double, animal style with extra grilled onions and your fries well done and animal style as well. You can thank me later.
Working on a regional sales team- we tend to travel a lot and whenever we have a meeting planned in Salt Lake City we ALWAYS go to In-N-Out Burger. Like my team is obsessed with it- it's a little crazy. This team trip we had to guess how many In-N-Out patties would be consumed in the span of 2 and half days for a team of 11. I guessed 35- nope I underestimated clearly because the grand total happened to be 48! Can you believe it?! Ahhhhh... but seriously though In-N-Out is one of those classic fast food hamburger joints but better. The menu is very simple and typically get service with a smile which is nice. I will give this place 4 stars because their fries are so so and there is another fast food burger chain that does it better - the almighty steak n' shake!
I've heard about these places for awhile and I wasn't that impressed. Don't get me wrong the burgers are good and fresh. I just don't know if it's the best burger I have ever had. My wife thought that the fries were the best part. I love that everything is fresh. I would definitely go back if I had one by me.

Had an incredible meal & fantastic service. We got our food to go, and they took great care in packing it up for us. We ordered 3 pasoles, and they packed up the cilantro, onions, chilis, oregano, tortilla strips & avocado for us to top, had streak fajitas, chorizo tacos and guacamole. It's the best meal I've had in a long time, thank you Cafe Silvestre!
I used to eat at the Gunnison, Colorado location of this small chain of family owned restaurants. We've always been pleased with the price and quality of their food. This location is close to home, and there was a time we'd eat here or get carry out about once a week. When I checked in today, I realized I hadn't written a review. Ironically, there was a "For Sale" sign in their lot, and we learned they will be closing when they are able to sell. The Canyon Rim and Midvale locations are remaining open. It's too bad this neighborhood is losing a nice place for Mexican dining.
There's a lot better options out there. I haven't been to a Cafe Silvestre for over 15-20 years and thought it might be time to relive old memories with my dad. What a mistake that was. Cafe Silvestre was one of the original Mexican restaurant chains in the valley and pretty good back then. Over the years they've gone downhill. They have spawned spinoffs like La Puente and La Frontera, which are better. Sadly, this time, Cafe Silvestre just drove me away permanently. I'm not sure how it's getting any good reviews. First this place looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. Don't get me wrong, I know there's a lot of good Mexican places out there that aren't the fanciest but at least the food is good. This place looked, and felt, dingy. But that's just for starters, let's talk food. I ordered the chile verde burrito plate. I also wanted the side of chile relleno but found out they use Anaheim peppers for that. I don't understand Mexican restaurants that use those instead of poblano peppers. I've never seen that in Mexico, not to mention it's just not as good. The chile verde was ok, hence the two stars, but the rice and beans were pretty bland. My dad ordered the menudo, always kinda risky anywhere. It was served in a bowl a third the size of any other restaurant. It was ridiculous. Not to mention watery tasting. I think they just added extra water to it and reheated it. Didn't even give it time to get any flavor. It also came with one flour tortilla that was hard. I have a sneaky suspicion it was because it was also reheated. It had some extra darker spots that kinda point that direction. They did give us an new tortilla which was definitely fresher and kind of confirmed my previous accusations. We mentioned all these things to the server but nothing was really done about it besides the fresher tortilla. I think she might have felt embarrassed as well. Cafe Silvestre, you're dead to me. RIP.
