Love Pearl Express! Best Chinese I've had in Utah hands down. The restaurant is not huge and the service can be slow depending on how busy they are, but they are always efficient and get the orders right. The prices here are super affordable especially if you can make it in for lunch specials.

Stopped in for take out. We have driven by so many times and finally made it a point to try their food. My friend had the house pan fried noodles. She really enjoyed this dish. I tasted it and thought it was pretty good. I'm a garlic sauce junkie; the spicy, garlicky kick always gets me. However, they only had this option with beef. They were kind enough to do Veggies and tofu in their garlic sauce. I would say the sauce was not my fave. It was salty and tasted mostly of dark soy. The veggies were definitely not present basically given tofu and bamboo shoots. I did like the service and would love to try some other options next time. Thinking ill branch out and try some of the chefs favorites in the future.

Its really a hidden gem in the west Jordan area. I've been going here over the last 8 years and their food is still the same. Its pretty good. Their lunch special are always so affordable. For under $7 you can get a pretty decent meal. Also ask for the Chinese menu. It's not necessary in Chinese but you can get the more authentic dishes like the shrimp cake and tofu. Overall good value and better than average Chinese food.

I tried their food the first time with my family. I was kind of skeptic at first but later i was surprised on how good the food were. If you have been to hoho gourmet or golden dragon, the cooking style is very similar. My kids favorite is the shrimp ball tofu, house pan fried noodles and salt baked pork. I will try other menu next time. I am giving it a five star because it is good, affordable and close to our home. We usually have to drive farther to get decent Chinese food. Enjoy!

Son and I went because of the Yelp reviews. Lunchtime on a Friday. They were busy, and we found out why. Our meals cost a grand total, with tax, $10.45 for two people. We were stuffed on great food at great portions. Everything under $5 at lunch. We will be back!!

This is a cute little place with friendly service and good food. I came here on New Year's Day with a bunch of hungover friends. We were pleasantly surprised that the place was open, and that other people were there that early in the morning. It was probably noon, but that's early for someone who partied all night. We sat ourselves, and our waitress was out to greet us almost immediately. She was adorable and very friendly. We all had a lot of questions, and she was very helpful and willing to answer us. I ended up ordering the Buddha supreme (or something similar) which was tofu, noodles, and some of the best damn rice that I have EVER had. The tofu tasted kinda funny, which is what knocked this review down to four stars. It was still delicious, it just didn't have that standard tofu flavor that I am accustomed to. Everything else was amazing, and all my friends agreed. The best thing about this place is the prices. You can get a huge meal that will keep you full all day for about $5!

Pearl express has the best Chinese food in taylorsville. My work is very close to here so I eat it for lunch a lot. Any time I want it for dinner I make the drive from midvale without even thinking about stopping at one of the many other restaurants I pass on the way

Super delicious food. We ordered the family dinner A for 4 people. Portions were big. General Tsos chicken was the favorite. The egg drop soup was delicious. I really liked the sweet and sour pork too. I'm looking forward to trying some more things on the menu.

The food is good for a good price. I came with some friends and we were pleasantly surprised, seeing as it doesn't tlook like a lot from the outside. If you come for dinner, the Hong Kong steak and the 5 spice pork are both really good, and I would recommend it to anyone who goes.

We love this restaurant! Nothing fancy, but a great place to get awesome Chinese. The food is delicious and the price is right. This is the only place we call when we get a craving for Chinese!

This is a great place to find quality Chinese food for a great low price. Plus they are so kind here! It'll be your go to take out

I've been going to a bunch of Chinese restaurants all over town. And I have to say the food here was just as good or better than any other place. But the price here is the cheapest I've seen. A lunch special is 4.75! It comes with soup, fried rice and an egg roll. The main entree was plentiful, my only complaint is that he didn't give enough rice. But he made up for it in the large portion of the main entree. I give the food 4 stars and the price 5 stars. May pearl express stay open forever!

Coming from CA to UT, there is definitely quite a difference between Chinese food here and there. One thing that I really like order is chow mein, however, in Utah, chow mein is some kind of odd goop over crunchy noodles. If you order chow mein in CA, you get what's called Lo Mein in UT. It's confusing. It's hard for me to find a good Chinese place in UT that has good "lo mein", but this place has the closest thing to what I'm looking for, so it deserves all the stars. I also really like the sweet and sour pork & orange chicken. The prices are really low and I usually have leftovers. If this place disappears, I don't know what I'll do about my chow mein cravings. There's also a nice man who serves here, he's super sweet. Everyone else here is kind of quiet. This is certainly my favorite Chinese restaurant to eat at in Utah.

After trying some other close enough to pick up Chinese options, we found this place. While we've never dined in, the food is always good. Seems a little better quality than most, though some dishes, like the sesame chicken are a tad sweet for my taste. Egg rolls are a bit greasy, so you may want to avoid them, but other than that, the food is good for your typical Chinese take out joint. Also, make note of the location, at prime traffic times it can be difficult to get in and out of the parking lot.

Best shrimp fried rice in the state and cheapest!! I think it is $5.95 for a generous portion plate. This place is $ not $$$$. Some other dishes I recommend are Shanghai chicken, salted squid, salted shrimp and they have some yummy tofu dished too! Also, these dishes are all on their Chinese menu. Items on this menu is of course more authentic.

Pearl express is the best Chinese take out in the West Jordan area. The portions are huge the prices are just right. The food is fresh and good quality. They are closed on Mondays, and I always seem to need a Chinese fix on Mondays. But it's worth the wait. We love the orange chicken, and house lomein.

I love this place, this is my go-to for cheap chinese on a weeknight, I love the A dinner, 2 entrees, soup, box of ham fried rice and some wontons and egg rolls, House special lo mein is awesome, sweet and sour chicken/shrimp is awesome, beef n brocolli is not very good, and the orange chicken is pretty ok, but either way you get a ton of food for 16 bucks, I can eat it for 2 days in a row.

Lots of options on their menu, but the few dishes we tried is missing some flavor and definitely not authentic Chinese or even good tasting american Chinese. The parking lot is difficult to get into especially during rush hour. There is a $25 minimum for delivery.

Wow. This has got to be one of the best places if you're craving for some Chinese food during lunch. The first thing that caught my eye was the prices. All of the lunch menu items were less than $5! After your order, the first thing you are served is some egg drop soup. It's extremely hot, but oh so good :). Of course, the next thing to come out is your entree. For 4.95, you get plenty of bang for the buck. Large portions for a not so large cost. The service is exceptional. The waitress kept on making sure we had enough water and always came by and refilled if she saw we were getting low. Definitely give this place a shot if you're ever in the area. As a previous reviewer said, getting in and out of the area can be troublesome at prime times. After the MANY times I've been here for lunch, I recommend first the Egg Foo Yung plate. If you go there again (which I am sure you will), try the pan fried noodles.

This place is always tasty and the fare is not your pedestrian chinese food. The vegetable egg foo yong is like nothing i've had before and is simply amazing. There is also a chinese language menu for the people that like to get a taste of their home cooking. Service is ok but the food will bring you back.

Terrible food, we ordered $40 on 3 meals. We got two orders of cashew chicken, over half the plate was celery. You could not even taste the chicken. Even worse, the cashews were soggy. This means the dish was old and sitting in a steamer. We got one order of mongolian beef, it had no spice and the vegetables were overcooked. Very sad when Panda Express is a better choice. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews like I was. WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN...

After trying a lot of American Chinese restaurants around, this is definitely the best in the area in our opinion. The amount of food you get for the price is fantastic. We usually get 3 meals from each "meal." The only item we haven't liked was the wonton soup. Give this one a try if you haven't yet.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
