As far as chinese buffets go, this is a decent one and we enjoyed ourselves. Piled the whole fam into our van one evening and headed over to give it a try. It is very clean inside, and very bright. For me it was uncomfortably fluorescent light bright. But I appreciate being able to see every detail of what I am eating, so there's that I guess. I like the Mongolian grill area. They have steaks you can have grilled to order, along with the typical veggie and frozen meat selections. The cook is very helpful if you're not sure how to sauce your dish. Tip these guys, nobody ever does. The rest of the buffet is pretty standard. General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, teriyaki chicken skewers, a variety of noodles and rices. They had peel and eat shrimp on the night we visited. The salad bar left much to be desired and looked sad and old, but who is going to a Chinese buffet for salad anyway? The kids liked it and ate their weight in chicken skewers and lo mein. The price was $10.99 per adult (12 and up) and kids are .80 per year of age. Not bad, especially if you have growing boys.

Food pretty good, except the seafood. The seafood was horrible. Table service very poor. Price too high for food quality and service.

The food is fresh and the staff are great. The mongolian bbq is worth the price alone. The fact that they consistently have a good salad bar and basic chinese fare is an added plus. They keep it clean and don't charge extra for a drink. This is the only chinese buffet I like.

I really never liked Chinese buffets, but I tried Golden China on a recommendation. First, it is very reasonable at $10.99; and even cheaper for lunch. The buffet is very impressive. They also have a create your own stir fry and someone their to grill it for you. Of course you'll want to tip the guy! The buffet is loaded with fresh salad and fixings and a huge variety of meats, shrimp, rice, noodles, veggies, desserts. The server gets your drinks and the service was very good and friendly. Also, this place was sparkly clean and so was the restroom. This place is fantabulous and will definitely be back!

I was in the mood for a Chinese buffet while passing through SLC and I ended up in Taylorsville. I actually got online to read reviews of places so I could make an better decision. I settled on this place over Kings Buffet down the road. Besides having great server who went beyond the extra mile to refill drinks and ask me if all was well, which I am not used to at buffets, usually they rush me and clear my plates to fast, this place was not worth for $12 to eat dinner. Very limited selections of foods here, they are not big on refiling things such deserts. Also there were not many people here, which I took as a bad sign. Food is bland and too many fried dishes. When I got a steak, the guy picked a greater piece of beef, instead of a freshet piece in front, that is just cheap, not to mention unappetizing. I should have gone to the one down the road, that is chain and had a bigger selection for a little higher price. Search else where is

Been to this Buffett 2 times. Food has been good and reasonably fresh both times. I like the mongolian BBQ. Seems to be the best one (at a chinese resturant) in the area. Ill be back.

My family and I are fairly new to the Salt Lake area, so I've been trying to keep my eye out for a decent Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately, the search continues. The food here seemed to be fairly fresh, but it lacked flavor in general. Most of what we ate was pretty bland and flavorless with the exception of the General Tso's and orange chicken dishes. In my experience, Chinese food is supposed to have very bold flavors, but the food here had almost no flavor. I confess, I did not try the Mongolian grill, so I cannot speak to its quality, but I had a pretty good sampling of the rest of the buffet. Overall, the price is much too high for the quality of food served. I've had better Chinese food at some of the takeout places around.

I just want to say that the service is A+++ and the restaurant is very clean. The food however is NOT so great. There were some items that were fairly tasty but most of it was just not good :( The food was fresh which was nice, but the flavors were seriously lacking. The orange chicken tasted as if they had simply taken orange juice, thickened it up and bit and poured over a low quality chicken nugget. The sweet and sour chicken was really tasty and the salad bar was fresh and delish. I probably won't be eating here again though!

Not bad for a Chinese buffet, the Mongolian bbq is pretty good. All of the food was pretty fresh! The chicken on a stock was actually really delicious

If you're in the mood for an Asian buffet in the Salt Lake valley Golden China is the only one I'd recommend (I've probably tried them all). In comparison to a standard, around $10, Asian buffet their food is above average in taste and quality, and definitely cleaner than the average.

I ate here with my husband and I couldn't eat the food. (Maybe cause I was pregnant an stuff just didn't taste right I'm not sure) My husband loved it though. He loves seafood and that they have a lot of. Service was great.

This buffet is doing enough business that the food is pretty fresh and tastes good. I ate mostly from the mongolian grill which was good. The staff was friendly. The only downside I found is that for the volume of business that they are doing the building is a little small which leads to a slightly cramped feeling especially when parents are not supervising their children.

True to my word, we have been to Golden China so many times that I am pretty sure the Hispanic guy that cooks the Mongolian food recognize my husband and I. When I need deliciously cooked and perfect seasoned steak, this is the place I go. The other food is pretty good but the desserts are pretty bad. Being from Southern California I already know to avoid desserts at Chinese buffet places. Waiters are always on point. Even though we have been here many times and get different waiters, they are always attentive to take away plates and refill drinks.

I typically love Chinese buffets. You get decent food, and a lot of it for a good price. Honestly though I was really underwhelmed by the food here. The food as a whole just lacked flavor, though they did have a good selection.

You will know immediately this restaurant is well-managed when you walk in. It is clean, staff courteous. Good quality dishes are kept fresh and stocked in the buffet. Mongolian barbecue ingredients are high-quality. Very clean everywhere. Price reasonable. Coming back.

I really like this place. It's clean, the food is pretty good. I really like the Mongolian and the waitresses speak English which makes ordering easier.

Freshest, cleanest, and one of the best Chinese buffets we've ever visited. Son and I came for lunch as it was on our way in between errands. No MSG..bonus! Sauteed garlic green beans.... Best ever and fresh! Ice cream is usual soft serve, BUT had blackberry (with fruit in it) topping! Soooo good!! We'll be back!

This is a new buffet on Redwood Rd in Taylorsville, and I believe the same folks that own Chinese Gourmet on State St operate this place as well. They have a decent size dining area and an average buffet area. Price was about the same as other buffets in town. They focus more on the variety of Chinese food rather than throwing in mediocre things like rotten sushi offered by many other Chinese buffets in the state. Food quality is above average in comparison with other buffets in town. They have a full capacity Mongolian grill here, which cooks your food all the way through, not like the half-cooked food offered by some buffets in town. It might just be a grand opening thing, but they have fresh to grill steaks available as well. If you are a Chinese buffet lover, you will probably enjoy what Golden China offers. Service was actually decent, and a nice young Asian girl served us with smiling face.

I am usually against Chinese Buffets. I've had tons of bad experiences where it's just a mass amount of cheap food made very carelessly and I have a hard time not freaking out and containing my inner germaphobe since they usually seem very seedy. This is not the case at Golden China. Golden China was pristine and you could tell the owners/managers really care about the establishment. It also reassured me since I physically saw the owners milling about making sure the food was fresh and keeping every area comfortable and clean. A few things that stood out to me were: -Upon paying, they have you write down the tip then pull out that dollar amount from the register and hand it to you. I love that they do this-that way I can tip the Mongolian grill cook as well as my server. -Steak is an option for the mongolian grill. You can have more than one or none. But it's there and I love it! -Salty Green Bean dish is salty in a perfect way plus the green beans are crisp without being too greasy. Also, love. -There are a myriad of drink options. Multiple types of juices and sodas, teas, and obviously coffee. My dining partner got a kick out of trying all of the different flavors of juice. Overall, I felt so pleased to be eating here since the food was absolutely delicious and the people in charge there clearly went to great pains to make the environment feel comfortable. I honestly never thought I would say this about a Chinese buffet but it is fresh, clean, and had really good food. I'm excited to come back!

My new favorite buffet in and around SLC. The service is very good, food much better than average, and they really seem to care about putting forth fresh and tasty product. The hot and sour soup is both hot and sour, and most chicken dishes are moist and tender. Of the better-rated Chinese buffets on Yelp, this is definitely my favorite.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
