Delicious food! The green chicken enchiladas are my favorite but I've liked everything that I've tried. Their menu is unique and genuine mexican. They have great prices and friendly service. Love it!

The best thing about this place is the staff. They are so very friendly and helpful. They even offered me a free drink with my meal. The downside is that the food just isn't that good. There was nobody in the place when I came in at dinner time. I ordered the steak burrito for my husband (without guacamole) and the meat had no flavor. It seemed very bland. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was the same thing. A little salt and/or pepper could go a long way to helping this place. We've tried the bean burritos also with the same results. I really wanted to have them succeed since they are local to my neighborhood, but I'm afraid the food may not be able to stand the test of time.

After a long hike in Antelope Island State Park, my wife and I stopped here to pick up some much needed lunch. The service was good, and everyone was very nice, but I would recommend avoiding the food. I had a carne asada burrito and chips, while my wife had a veggie burrito. The servings were HUGE, but there wasn't much flavor to speak of. The carne asada burrito literally consisted of nothing but bland steak and pinto beans. The veggie burrito wasn't terrible, but there wasn't much flavor and the cheese wasn't melted. Unlike most mexican restaurants, tortilla chips were extra. I was confused when I saw a SMALL serving was $7 - it ended up being a full half-pan of tortilla chips. Avoid this place - they give you a lot of food, but very little flavor.

A very friendly staff, a pretty decent price, and okay food. The challenge this place is going to have is that they have quite a bit of competition very nearby. There is a restaurant across the street called mellow pepper which is just as good if not better and another restaurant further west on antelope Drive called Bandito's border Grill also just as good if not better. We decided to give it a try since we live nearby and are always looking for great Mexican food, the closer the better. With so many choices so close by I don't know if I'm going to become a regular at this particular place, probably not. It's a pretty good place to give a try if you are looking for a decent salsa bar with very friendly service. If you're looking for great Mexican food my advice would be to make the drive to Salt Lake City for the blue iguana or drive to Ogden and go to one of the many good Mexican restaurants there.

Really good! Decent prices and there is nothing else like it around. I took my son there and can't wait to go back!

first time here really not impressed the only thing I did like it the lady at the counter that rung me up was very friendly and nice. I asked for a burrito enchilada style and I could tell the girl she was telling that to didn't not understand well. I was charged more for it but it came with nothing on top. Take it home and it's cold and the cheese is not melted I don't think I will return.

My family recently tried this restaurant and over all it was pretty good. It is very similar to a Betos or Rancharitos. I got the Carne asada burrito which was really good. My wife got enchiladas but they were just ok. My son got a bean and cheese burrito, which was delicious. The bean and cheese is extremely messy and almost had to be eaten with a spoon. Over all it was pretty good.

Just tried this new Mexican restaurant tonight. We loved it! Everything was fresh, delicious, and super authentic. You could tell even the rice and beans were homemade. Another person eating there loved the burrito he had so much he ordered another one to take home. If you like authentic Mexican give this place a try!

The food was good - seemed authentic, reasonably priced. Ordered the bean and cheese burrito, which was DELICIOUS! The beans were smooth and creamy. The rolled tacos were fair, but nothing special. The California burrito was good, but if you are looking for Mexican food on the side of "Mexican-American", other than the bean & cheese burritos, you could go to Beto's or Rancherito's instead for the price (approximately $2 more per dish here). I didn't order anything truly authentic, so I can't speak to the rest of the menu. The staff was really friendly. The place was empty on a weeknight at 7 p.m. and they made the food quickly, but not so quickly that it was already made and waiting. I will probably go back when I'm craving a bean and cheese burritos, but otherwise I will stick to the cheaper venues.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
