So excited to have discovered this place. Delicious, affordable sushi. Rolls are under $7.50, $2 edamame... The menu is pretty extensive. The place is clean and cozy. Service was a little aloof, but oh well. Maybe it's the Japanese thing. Oh, and heads up, they don't accept AMEX. Great overall, will definitely be back!

We came back here 3 months later and found out they no longer have the special deals (all rolls were $6.50 or under), now most rolls you'd wanna order are $7.50. Over all it still tastes good for the price, the only reason I'm taking out a star is because when we came, there were 3 other couples besides us in the whole restaurant, and the wait time from the time we sat down until our food came was almost 40 minutes..... I was starving.. Maybe I feel justified taking off a star because yelp doesn't do half stars & I started this review hangrily. Btw we ordered 4 rolls, which was enough to make a 125lbs girl and a 180lbs guy full enough to be content. $31ish not counting tips.

Meh. For the price the sushi is alright but the service sucked. Never offered a drink besides water. Had to ask again to get another drink. And the ambiance is well, 1982 wooden furniture family dining. Enjoyed the miso soup though.

OK so honestly we come to this place more than any other because the rolls are all less that $7. The quality is really good though. They don't have the exotic super fancy and super expensive rolls the high end places do. But it is much better quality and cheaper than the all you can eat places. My kids devour the California rolls. My favorite is the Mars roll. Playboy is good too. I can feed my family of 6 for $60 here. That's pretty much impossible anywhere else.

I love this place. Jenny is always super nice. Best waitress ever. I've tried a million different items and have never been disappointed. If your in the Union Square area do yourself a favor. Go to Tokyo sushi.

By far, the best sushi in the state. My girflriend (from California) and I (from New York) both agree, that outside of the fresh off the beach places you'll get back in our respective states, this place packs a punch when it comes to fantastic flavor, value, and quality. We both enjoy the Tokyo Big Roll - been a favorite of ours for months. My tastes change frequently, and I've done most everything on the menu. I've only been disappointed in 2 of the rolls, but out of 40 or so, that's a pretty damn good track record. Owner is a fantastically friendly little old Asian man. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. "Jenny" is the name of the lady who seems to be there 24/7, and honestly, if she could crack a smile or drop anything other than "WHAT YOU WANT?", it would be nice. However, I've realized for a long time that the culture isn't quite so customer-service oriented, and I've been able to overlook that for a long time. If service to you is worth a star, take one and a half stars off - not even lying when I say that you've got to be able to stand her to make the experience worth it. But we've tried all the places around here, and there's no one in comparison to how fresh and tasty the food is here.

My family and I love to visit this place! The kids usually share a tempura chicken and veggies meal while the wife and I share some rolls. We visit this place at least once a month and the sushi has been very consistent in taste, texture, rice portion, etc. It is very good quality stuff and I highly recommend it. All rolls are currently $6.95 or less, which is a good value. As for rolls I love, my favorite is the Tokyo Big Roll. This baby has a variety of great fish on top, including yellowtail, which is my favorite. This roll is huge and my favorite one here. The Wasabi Roll, Mountain Rock Roll and Coconut Shrimp Roll are also must-try. It seems as if this is family-run and the chef is so friendly and nice. Go check this place out, I recommend it.

We've been coming here for several years now. This is easily among the top 5 best sushi places in Utah and amazingly also one of the cheapest. The decor is humble (as is the family that owns it) but the sushi is outstanding. My favorites are the tokyo big roll, playboy roll, and the samurai.

The sushi rolls were all a great price and they had a large selection. All of the rolls we ordered were delicious. We will definitely come here again.

Sushi was really good, and really inexpensive. We were the only customers in the restaurant the entire time. I was definitely nervous when we first walked in and saw the place, but it totally redeemed itself with the food.

Good decent sushi for lunch. Good deal , but they're not one of the sneaky places that put too much rice and not a lot of fish. This place is good!

Good sushi for lunch. It was very empty when we went so we were a little nervous, but the prices were very good and the quality was excellent. We ordered some fried vegetables, which I would highly recommend, as well as 6 sushi rolls (it was a business lunch) Everyone really enjoyed the rolls. Any roll with "Funky" in front of it seems to be a specialty and really tasty. The Funky California was my favorite.

I live in the neighborhood and was happy to see a new sushi place nearby. The sushi rolls are solid and my favorites are the Mexico and LA rolls. If you like spicy, this is the way to go. Tempura is okay. The service is not good but the lady who works there is starting to grow on me with her non-friendly ways. I'll definitely continue to do business here but mostly out of convenience.

Solid sushi selection. Mexico, LA and Firecracker are my go to rolls. Like others have mentioned the service of waitstaff and hostess leaves much to be desired. Sushi chef is always super friendly and gracious.

Best sushi for the price in Utah. Large selection of rolls and ever-changing specials are fun to try. They used to be located at 3300 south and 700 east and had begun to be quite popular. Lack of advertising with the move was a mistake but I'm sure word will eventually make it to others like me that would go here over any other trendy over-priced sushi restaurant.

Hands down the best sushi for the price! Every roll I have had is delicious. I come here often for lunch and the service is always fast and friendly.

For business travelers this place DOES NOT take American Express. The place was empty when I picked up our order.

Tried a few rolls and really enjoyed them all! Especially the Coconut Shrimp roll, amazing! The service was great and enjoyed how quiet the atmosphere was.

5 stars is not enough praise to heap on my FAVORITE sushi joint in Utah. The asian-themed atmosphere transports you to the streets of Saigon, while sweet-as-pie Jenny takes you to your table. First, let me take a minute to get this off my chest --- Jenny (the main chick in charge) is beyond adorable, friendly, and HILARIOUS. She will crack a joke like no other. (Ask her about "the pencil"!!!! B E S T STORY E V E R!) Order the Prayboy, Utah, and anything spicy tuna. YUMMMM in my TUMMMMMM. Give it a try! But don't be surprised if you find yourself obsessed with the sushi and in love with a pretty girl named Jenny.

This place use to be my favorite little dive when it was in south salt lake. They have moved to Sandy with the same unfriendly staff. I think if the new place was not so clinical looking and the owner could crack a smile every now and then it would be a better experience over all. Food wise, don't order the edemame, do order the cucumber salad. Almost all of the rolls are yummy (except the fried ones if you ask me).

We enjoyed the sushi rolls! Nice service. Good price. We would definitely return. Nice and clean restaurant.

Utility sushi at its 'something'. Not best, not worst, just pretty good. The owners are quite nice and the surroundings are, well, let's just say they're quite Asian, or Oriental if you're ok with word.

Got the Funky Vegas roll as take out today. It was exactly what I was looking for. Fast and yummy and only $7.50 (including taxes). Probably wouldn't travel out of my way to go here but it was good for being in the area I was.

Not extremely good, not bad. You get what you pay for. All rolls are no more than 8$. Server acted irritated to have to wait on us. Would go back without having high expectations. Edamame- good miso soup- good sashimi plate- good roll that I had- wouldn't get again. Flavorless.

Great sushi and great price. I got the firecracker and Tokyo rolls and they were awesome. I highly recommend it and will come back again. This month, all rolls are $7.

This is a cute little place that has great food! Usually go to Ichiban or Red Ginger (before it shutdown), but this is one of my favorite places now! The sushi is cheap and the food is really good. The salad that comes with the food has a really good dressing also!

My husband and I were looking a good sushi place. We ordered 4 rolls and total was $30 with tax! Their sushi was pretty good! We highly recommend this place. This place have variety of fish and the rolls are huge! We will definitely return again! :-)

Love their sushi, always fresh, always made right. My favorites are Tokyo big, sandy, uu, samurai. Nice, cozy little place, clean, seats are spaced out perfectly so you're not too closed to table next to you. One con, only their sushi is awesome, tried teriyaki chicken once, very blend, kind of disappointed, but everything else is good.

I'm always up for new places but my first visit here had me second guessing my choices. No seating at the sushi bar and the decor is a bit dated. My previous experience considers these red flags. I stayed anyway and had quite good sushi. My maki roll and nigiri were made with a experience hand and tasted quite fresh with perfectly seasoned rice. 4 stars from me

Best sushi in town, cheap prices, awesome food, great service. They used to be on 3300s. 700 e. but just recently relocated to Sandy. Worth a try.

Are you Kidding me??!! I live less than two minutes from this place, and saddened that I've only recently tried it. I was lured in by the $6.95 or less Sushi rolls sign. We went in last night, a Friday night. It was only a little busy, but the one waitress on duty was quick and attentive. The decor left much to be desired, but has to be the reason that they can get away with the rock bottom menu prices. The tempura was fantastic, potstickers perfectly crunchy. The best part? Coconut Shrimp Roll. I took a bite, and my eyes rolled into the back of my head. It's like my mouth was at an end of the world party, it was so incredibly delicious. We had a few other rolls and sashimi. All were delicious and fresh. I recommend this place to any sushi lover, and will definitely going back. 2 thumbs up!

My favorite sushi spot! I tried this place out because I didnt want to drive far from home and I'm sure glad I did! Some of the best sushi ive had in utah. Its not the best looking restaurant but the rolls ive tried have all been amazing! Service was great, ive had the same waitress both times and she is very nice. I would recommend the big tokyo roll, funky snow crab, and coconut shrimp roll.

I just love this place. Funny that people mention the unfriendly staff. So far it seems that I have only seen two people working here. I suspect it is the owners of the place. One makes the sushi, the other is the server. I have had no issues and I think they are both pretty nice. For the price you cannot beat this sushi place!

I can't follow those who have gone over the top and proclaimed it best in the state...but this little restaurant is pretty good fare at a reasonable price. The service is not first rate, but the overall feel is that of a very small, personal operation that is doing its level best and cares about the product. The rolls are generous in size. The quality of the fish varies a bit...but their cuts of tuna and the mussels were very good during the first visit.

Good food and a good price, I'm surprised it's not busier. I like the quick quiet service, too. Try the Japanese Green tea, it is delicious.
