Great variety of veggie choices with things clearly labeled. The sauce they have a good amount of and it says if it contains soy, is gluten free or is vegan, as well as the calories. Very helpful!!! They have brown rice as an option as well. Yay. They don't get 5 stars because I feel like they needed to come up with a bit better way for the sauces, I saw some people spill a bit of the sauce in to a neighboring sauce. Also, they don't use different spatulas for each person's meal unless you specifically tell them. Cross contamination for sure. My meal was fabulous and I loved it!!

Its a great price for the amount of food you can get. The good.- The self serve grill is designed similar to a Salad Bar with a large round grill at the end. I was surprised by how many veggie choices they had. The had frozen mango, red potatos, and tofu, which are unorthodox for a mongolian grill. Also there were easily 30 sauces to choose from. The bad.- First of all skip the soup and appetizers. The egg drop soup is a congealed salty goo. The Hot and Sour soup was completely intolerable. Skip it. The waitress was irritated when we asked her to bring a different drink because the fizzy peach lemonade was like drinking sweaty peach tea water. As if they gave up halfway through making the drink. She took 15 minutes to bring the check after we asked. She was curt and aggitated - probably because it was so crowded and full of baggy judgy older women in GAP capris. If your into that kind of thing go to Huhot.

2 stars, and here is why just 2 and not 0. The taste and concept is really good. A bar style floor where you just make your plate from choices of noodles ( Chinese, or chowmen style) meats ( steak, pork, chicken, clams, mousels, meatballs), fixings (veggies etc for stir fry), to sauces (mild to hot) then they cook it on a round flat top grill, 1-4 employees slapping your meal, yeah they have no idea how to prep, they slap and stir it! Here is the bad to almost 0 stars, the meat it frozen raw and unsanitary. Food go's in a bowl that you pile high, it gets everywhere. The place is very unsanitary and no one cleaning it up. So, I got my meal. Hair in my food, not just 1 strand but many. It's cold still. No one with hair nets, gloves, etc. It's bad, I wouldn't recommend this place. Great choices and concept IF..... they could keep it clean and sanitary as well prep the food with chefs who know how to cook stir fry style.

Good food with nice sauce selection. Go to this place expecting to be filled and you won't be disappointed The pros: Good sauce, meat and veggies selection along with some pretty solid sauce selection. All you can eat type menu allows you to eat to your hearts content and go out a satisfied person and also makes the price you paid for a meal pretty economical especially as you munch along Fast service despite queue sometimes building up. The cons: Bowl size could be wider as people sometimes end up spilling food as they stack Sauce option could vary and they could try introducing new flavors every now and then ( maybe seasonal flavors) and gauge customer response to see if it can be made part of their sauce list. Recommended sauces to try: Mild: not so sweet and sour Medium:Kung pap yow! Hot: Khans revenge Note: Hotness of sauce denoted by number of flames along with name of the sauce. I would go there again for sure Recommended for: Lunch and can definitely satisfy large parties.

My co-workers rave about this place and often times go during lunch. I held off so I could take my wife and daughter for a date night. (Bad idea) It's a Friday night around 6:30. Probably my fault since its rush hour, but according to other reviews, this place is notorious for taking forever. We had about a 15 minute wait to get seated (not too bad), but the whole process of getting your food is what killed it for me. You load up in a buffet line, filling your (small) bowl of veggies, meats, noodles, and Sauces to hand off to a cook to grill up. They have 4 cooks grilling your stir fry ingredients around a Sun Dial shaped stove. While we're on the topic of a clock style stove, did I mention it takes forever? The line was extremely long to get to the cooks so we stood there with our bowls for 12-15 minutes at least! It was very demotivating to go back for seconds. Perhaps that's their secret for profit. Offer a buffet but take forever for customers to go back for seconds. *The food was good, but not great. I couldn't help but think of people sneezing and coughing all over the food in the buffet line. Plus all the prongs to grab the food, were in the food. After been touched and handled by tons of people. Our waiter was very slow. Again, I get its a Friday night, busy, yadda yadda. But come on man... Refill our drinks and if the rice bowls are a courtesy, get them out asap. 2 adult meals, 1 kid meal, 1 soft drink, 2 chocolate milk (drink not included in kids meal) was $40! Not worth it at all. We went, we ate, it's crossed off the list. We won't be back.

I have brought groups of people here twice and both times the staff, food and service have been outstanding. Fun for large groups due to the variety and experience. Get the table side S'mores as they are a great conversation piece. I've had great, terrible and good Mongolian BBQ and this one is near the top.

I ate here and had a mouse hanging out at the booth next to us. I told a manager and they laughed it off saying "I know. It's been here for like a month. It must have 100 lives." Uh? Or are there 100 mice? They really should have comped my meal or offered some sort of discount. They said they'd send me something in the mail but of course I'd never eat there again. I tried reaching corporate but they ignored the situation. I posted on their fb page but they deleted my post. It's too bad. I was a fan. If could give this place zero stars I would.

Thanks to Tony's review on here I would have had a skimpy plate. We did as he said and got 2 bowls, one for the noodles and veggies and the other for the meats. They have a huge selection of awesome tasting sauces where I would like to try most of them but do not want to mix them with others. A great spread of fresh veggies and meats. The line was long to get the food cooked up, but it goes fast. I have been going to Chinese Gourmet for their Mongolian Grill for many years and this place is a lot better quality. The price is very reasonable for what you get. Can't wait to go back and try some other sauces on my plate.

An interesting spot. We were very nervous about going especially after reading the review about the mouse in the dining area. If you are a germaphobe this place is definitely not for you. If you like strict flavor profiles, again not your place. Interesting mix of all you can eat with a variety of meats, veggies, noodles as a base, then a create your own sauce mix. This is the type of place that you will need to visit a few times to get your flavor profile together. There are a ton of sauces and suggestions to help guide you. While we did not see evidence of critters or mice, but it is definitely not a clean place. The only reason I was somewhat ok with it was; all the food offerings were frozen and then grilled. I don't dare try the restrooms for cleanliness since the dining area is a disaster. For those with food allergies- be very very cautious- specially nut allergies. The sauce bar is a mess, and I guarantee there was plenty of cross contamination of the sauces. Being a all you can eat- no to go boxes. We may be back, but may come for lunch when the prices are cheaper and hopefully cleaner being earlier in the day. I was also not ok with the staff fixing their dinner while I was going through the line. My husband's comments was "we have been in second and third world countries where the places were cleaner and with better service".

Came here for work lunch on Wednesday 5/20. I always like Mongolian Grill. I normally try to get my dish spicy by adding generous amount of Kung Pow Yaw sauce and others whichever that have at least 4 burning fires rating. However today my bowl ended up not spicy despite the usual amount of sauces I put. There were only 2 cooks grilling that day and due to large lunch crowd, the food was left on the grill for a long time before they came and flipped the food. By then most of the sauces already evaporated away, leaving some black residue that they scrapped away. The result? Almost tasteless dish. I was not too happy with my meal that day. I think they should flip the food more frequent so the sauce can blend well with the food.

I really like the food here, but today I waited 17 minutes to get a my drink and order in! After a while I just went and got food, finished it and was heading to get more when I was finally asked what I would like to drink. When my drink and rice finally got to the table it was close to 20 minutes. That is some really bad service. Visit time: Sep 12, 2015 @ 4:10pm.

My co-workers wanted to visit HuHot today for lunch today so I reluctantly decided to give it another try. I was willing to accept that maybe I'd just had a bad first experience... But unfortunately my first impressions were mostly correct and I ended up walking away from another disappointing meal. As we made our way through the buffet I remembered that last time I hadn't liked the Chinese noodles so I tried the yakisoba noodles instead. The Chinese noodles seemed really slimy to me. Thankfully the yakisoba noobles were much better. I also got some beef, chicken, and lots of veggies. The restaurant was very busy during lunch today and there was a long line to get your food cooked. After waiting about 10 minutes we finally got our food and returned to our tables. I know the chefs do the best they can to cook the dishes as quickly as possible, but the wait at HuHot is really not good. It's great that the buffet is all you can eat, but when you're having to wait a long time for your food it really discourages you from going back for seconds. Although I liked the yakisoba noodles better, the meat today was dry, overcooked, and tasted like leather. Both the chicken and the beef were gross. I also noticed that the beef was kind of fatty. I left HuHot today with a $12 check for a lunch and a feeling of disappointment. The food is poor quality and overpriced in my opinion. After two regrettable meals I can assure you I won't be going back a third time.

This place wasn't great. The night we went I counted over 30 people standing in line, waiting for their food to be cooked. The buffet prep area, where we put our own ingredients in a bowl, was in shambles. A lonely piece of thawing raw beef sat around on the sauce bar, likely wondering what it did to get kicked out of his customer's bowl. Maybe I'm projecting here, but I have the same thoughts here that I have at Chuck A Rama. How long has this food been sitting out? How many hands have touched these tongs, and why am I paying to play bacteria roulette? I'm sure that I'm an anomaly, and that most people love this place. It's just not my thing.

First the look of the restaurant is quite nice when you walk in the door. However, high traffic areas are very warn down and needs to be painted/wiped down ect. Next off bowls were dirty and sometimes still had food in them. Line went quickly and the signage about not double bowling is funny. However all the sauces are hard to figure out because they don't have them all labeled correctly and the glass height on the counter is a pain to actually get anything in your bowl. Low Glass Z-Height and tall spoons don't work well. Next came the actual cooking. They had two guys there. This is how the cook you food.... dump your bowl out and spread it quickly. Let it sit there until it burns turn it over - scrape what they can into your bowl and then use water to scrape the second half of your bowl into the garbage pit. Seriously - everything was burnt - clumps of burned noodles... yum. Normally with this time of food the cook puts down a little bit of oil and turns you food often so that it gets cooked evenly. Seriously everyone at my table had it happen to them and we all went back 2 times. Waitress checked in twice... once to get us a drink and the next one when we asked to get our drink filled :( Overall disappointing that with some simple management and customer service they would have a good gig going. The food choice and sauces were good - easy fix... just need to do it.

Went for lunch today, sat down to eat and right away pulled out a 10 inch hair buried in my food. I made a new plate of food and of course discarded the plate with the hair. This was noticed and management asked if there was a problem. Once management found out they did respond appropriately and took care of the situation. I really do like this place but finding a long nasty hair ruins your experience. 4 star to 3 star.

Hard review to write. I really enjoy this concept but the Chinese Buffet in Orem does much better than HuHot. What is the difference? Bowl size for one. The buffet in Orem has a decent bowl size so I only need to make one visit. HuHot takes 3 or 4 visits. HuHot has a great collection of sauces and meats. However, because the bowl size is so small you need to go back for several visits because they are enforcing a single bowl per visit limit. The Chinese Buffet in Orem doesn't have a single bowl limit per visit but they don't need it as one bowl is enough. Their explanation that it takes longer to prepare a meal pales in comparison to how much longer it takes for you to stand in the same line several times. Almost every time I have been there it has benn less than half full and yt getting a waiter/waitress to take an order seems to take very long. I've gone ahead and ordered extra glasses of water and rice so I won't be stuck without something to drink, etc. Not sure what the solution for this place is besides putting in another cooking plate. Yet I could swear the one they use at HuHot is much bigger than the Chinese Buffet in Orem. Here is one suggestion - don't make people wait in line once they drop their food off. There is no reason for that. Drop your food off and go sit down come back in a few minutes when its done and sitting on the counter and grab it. Long cook times becomes less of a problem. Fix counter space so a lot of counter space is available to just drop off the food and I think you ould have a winning solution. One problem with this is sometimes your food gets grabbed accidentally after its prepared. But overall it works well in Orem. Go check it out and see.

My wife and I love this place. We have gone here a number of times and we have had great experiences each time. So how this place works is its a buffet. You grab your plate and load it up with your meats (pork, beef, or chicken) or some seafood like crab. Then add your choice of veggies and finally the most important part is the sauces. They have so many options that the first time there I was like a deer in headlights. No idea which combination I should do. Likely they do have a cheat sheet to help guide your choice. Don't be afraid to be adventurous and try whatever combo you want. Word of advice is to be courteous to everyone else and only make one plate at a time because when you get to the grill if you have multiple plates on the grill it slows up the line. It's a great place. I recommend it to everybody!

This place is a solid 3 stars. For the prices, I'd rather go to that Chinese Gourmet place on 45th and State because they have more food you can stuff in your face. The quality and taste of the food is about the same. When we came here, a wedding party of about 100 ppl arrived about 1/2hr later. It was a mad jungle. The place isn't very big so the lines went all over the place. The only plus of that evening were the staff. They were freakin AWESOME!! They were still very nice, helpful and light-spirited. I would actually give the staff 4 stars...everyone in the staff, from the girls up front, to the servers and the manager.

For the life of me, I do not get these highly rated reviews. I just dined here for the first (and mostly likely the last) time just a few hours ago. My meal and experience was so horrible that I came straight home and rebooted my laptop so I could warn others on Yelp! First of all, this place is ridiculously overpriced! Sure, for $12.99 it's an "all you can eat" dinner but trust me, once you go up to the bar once, you will NOT be tempted to go back up. The quality of the bar ingredients is poor. All of the meat and seafood is FROZEN and the shaved, frozen chicken was dried out DARK MEAT. I'm used to fresh all white meat chicken breast and fresh shrimp at most Mongolian places. Take a look at my photos, you'll see the yucky dark meat chicken shavings. The "crab" is that fake crab-flavored fish called "krab." The meat and seafood quality was poor and tasted freezer burned -- just awful. My advice? Skip the meat. The variety of vegetables isn't too vast but they were fresh and okay. I did like how the broccoli was just the florets (no stems) and they were cut into tiny pieces. It irks me at some Mongolian joints where the broccoli is just too big but here the size is just right. The zucchini was good and the spinach was fresh and not wilted, so yay for that! I didn't like how the onions had a mix of white onions and red onions combined together. Any chef or cook will tell you that they have vastly different flavor profiles and don't mesh well together. The sauces were a bit confusing and if you are a low carb eater or a diabetic, WATCH OUT because every single one of their mild sauces had added sugar! There wasn't much of an option for those of us watching our sugar intake. Your choices are either: loaded with added sugars, super salty or super spicy. I opted for plain lemon juice and sherry to flavor my bowls (yes, I had 2 so I could give this place a fair shake. and both bowls were awful). I also don't think this place has their grill hot enough. I asked for my veggies well done and after a grand total of about 15 minutes of cooking on the grill, they still weren't done enough for my liking. Whatever, the food was so awful it didn't really matter. Your "all you can eat" dinner (with its ridiculously overpriced $12.99 price tag) comes with a side salad or soup and a bowl of white rice. The soup was just okay, nothing special but the bagged salad was absolutely nasty. I couldn't eat it. I had mine with blue cheese dressing but it looked like the dressing had separated and was this unappetizing glob of oily grossness with white chunks floating in it (see my photos). Obviously the "free sides" are a complete afterthought. Why bother serving these in the first place? The service was bad too. The place was only about 1/4 full and our waiter was nowhere to be found. Other tables next to us were heard wondering aloud "where is our waiter?" We had made our first plate and had started eating before he even brought out our soup, salad and drinks. I would hate to see how awful the service is on a busy night! Check the other reviews; even the positive ones note how crappy the service is. You'd think the manager would respond to those complaints instead of noting how the reviewers are "wrong." Very argumentative. I know Asian eateries think it's cool to offer chopsticks as your sole utensil of choice but look, this is America and we like our forks and knives. There were no knives or spoons on the table, just a lonely little fork. It's hard to cut into the tough and rubbery meat without a knife. I like to chop up my water chestnuts for an added crunch but I couldn't do that. The cooks at the grill also didn't chop up the veggies while they were cooking as they do at other places. I'm giving this restaurant 1 star solely for two attributes: first, they have one of those awesome 150 flavor Coke drink machines. Your waiter has to bring you the soda, but you can order oodles of different combinations; second, their hand soap in the restroom smells good. That's all this place has going for it. Save your money. I would've rather just flushed our $38 (2 drinks, 2 dinners, tax and tip) down the drain instead of wasting it on this crap. You have been warned.

Weekday lunch - all you can eat for $8.99. Not bad at all! Just make sure you have at least an hour long lunch if you are going to dine here. It takes about 10 minutes to fill up a bowl and have it cooked by the grill masters because there's usually a line. My classmates and I were able to cook and eat 2 plates each and it still felt a bit rushed with our hour long lunch. One thing I thought was really cool about this place was that they had recipe cards and sauce guides for you to use if you want to make a specific dish or want your dish to be a specific flavor. I followed the sauce guides but added some extra sauce because our waitress recommended adding at least 5 or 6 ladles of sauce to make sure your dish has enough taste and both of my plates turned out really good!

I've had a few Mongolian BBQ in the past. The most memorable was somewhere in the Vancouver, WA area. This palce was not my cup of tea. The egg drop soup was cold. I followed their sauce recipe for the meek and mild. I think it should be renamed to the super salty. Oh the flip side, my wife enjoyed it. Would come here again to keep her happy, but wouldn't go on my own. The decor is modern/interesting. My star rating scale: ***** = loved it **** = really liked it *** = liked it ** = didn't like it * = hated it

This place is dirty and gross and the service is terrible. I know the restaurant is not very old but it is already run down. The management needs to pay attention. Pei Wei is a much better option.

Finally, we have a Mongolian grill in the Salt Lake area and this one is at a convenience location especially for those living in south valley. The place was quite big, and they have huge dining and grill area. Although they have this double layer door, cold breeze can still get through to tables near the entrance during winter. Their bowls were smaller than most Mongolian grills I have been to, best to use two bowls instead one like they suggested. Use one to carry noodles and veggies, and the other one for proteins. Some nights they have seafood like squirt and fish. I did not like the squid as they cut them too small, so by the time it went through the grill, they become super tiny. Spicy sausages were quite decent. They have three choices of noodles to choose from, yakisoba seems to be a safe choice for everything, and the other two depend on your sauce and meats. Everyone has different opinion about veggies, I found Mango went well with spicy dishes. Tofu seems to varies, one night was mush up like paste, and other night diced nicely. For sauce, this is where your dish can break or shine and you are responsible for tasty or nasty result of it. If you are using two bowls, add twice the suggested amount, otherwise your dish will be too dried and bland... I only wish they had raw ingredients like soy sauce to choose from, it did make things harder when most sauces were pre-made. Any spicy adventurers like me must add Khan's Revenge, not for the fainted heart. Next to drop off at the grill, they all seems quite busy in there, if you see the manager inside cooking, usually it means the place is busy. Luncheon can be problematic as lines can stretch very long, you will end up holding your bowl for few minutes until you have a resting spot. Dinner was actually less crowded compare to lunch hours. They have soda from the freestyle coke machine that does not allow you to fill your own coke... what is the point of that? That just took out the whole point of having freestyle coke machines. Their cups are also very short like kid size at most restaurants and their servers can be a bit slow at refilling your drink. They also charge premium for the drinks... Soup and salad came with dinner, always get the salad and avoid the egg drop soup at all cost, as it tasted like soap water. HuHot is not the best Mongolian grill place I have been to, but it is the best we got so far in this area. Even though a bit Americanized, I am just glad there is one for quick fix nearby. Services were a bit slow overall.

First of all, I feel sorry for the female cook struggling to clean the grill after each portion of food cooked on it. I just moved recently in salt lake city from Logan. Logan has a huhot where the cooks use a lot of water bottles to clean the grill after each plate of food is cooked. I dont understand why the cooks in Sandy cant do the same. Atleast the female cook will find it easier to clean the grill, not to mention there will be no mixing of sauces from the previous cook, thereby i would actually be tasting the sauces i picked for my meal. A lot of the ingredients like veggies and meat seem to be found in nearby sections as well, it seems like the people incharge of ensuring the freshness of the ingredients are not doing a good job. Overall, the food was average and the experience even worse. I might have to drive all the way to spanish fork and see how that place is since i am a big fan of the huhot brand.

All you can eat mongolian bbq! Pretty decent! Fresh vegetables, meat was frozen but still good, esp the pork! The pork was seasoned and I'm in love with it for some reason... it's just frozen pork! You grab a bowl, fill it with what you want, and have the guys grill it! Some tips, fill your bowl with meats, veggies, and sauces first. Then, add the noodles last. It helps get everything you want into the bowl. =) Also, make sure to add lots of sauce! When they say 5-6 ladles, they really mean it.

The only reason this is getting more than one star is for the overworked understaffed servers and cooks. They were trying their hardest to keep up. Beyond that the food was incredibly sub par for the price. The beef tasted like freezer burned steakums. For what is given the price should at least be $5 cheaper. The egg drop soup was incredibly salty and the wait for food from the cooks was 21 minutes. Management, hire more staff, make the food quality better or drop the price. It was one of the most disappointing meals from a restaurant I've ever had, and I've eaten at the Country Kitchen in Lampasas, TX. I don't understand how this location is best in State.

Usually come to this place during lunch for their all you can eat mongolian buffet. I haven't tried mongolian food before so, this was a pleasant surprise. The way it works is you get a bowl, fill it up with whatever meats/veggies/noodles/ you like. Then you take the bowl to the "sauce station" where you can make pre-made sauces like "samurai teriyaki" or "black thai peanut". Or you can make your own sauce by mixing in different ingredients. Then you hand the bowl to the fryers and they stir-fry it for you and viola, you have your amazing mongolian meal Sauces I would recommend: Burn your village bbq, kung pao yow, samurai teriyaki and the black thai peanut Tips I would recommend: Don't use 2 bowls (staff, patrons hate this and it prolongs the cooking process so they often get confused to whom the bowl belongs to) Use one bowl instead where you put the veggies/meats first then add the noodles after. Pork (its simply delicious)

I like this place, we visited for dinner ... It's around $13 per adult, which is higher than normal Mongolian restaurant, but you can come back as much as you can, instead of just one-time-piling-on bowl. The sauce is good and you can make it spicy, which is my preference. There is good combination of ingredients like squid, fish, mango, which is uncommon in lower end Mongolian dinner. One of the key ingredients that they are missing is shrimp/prawn in my mind ...

I love this place so much I could marry it and have its little noodle offspring. Too far? The restaurant itself is very nice. The decor is fun and gives off a funky, happy, Asian-y vibe. It's always very clean and well stocked. The waitstaff is phenomenal - everyone is extremely knowledgable, helpful and kind. Even when my autistic 6 year old is freaking out that his rice touched his noodles. Everyone here is awesome. And the food. Oh mama. Their crab rangoons are to die for. Or kill for. Or at least seriously maim for. The desserts are unbelievable (specifically the cookie dough wonton things.) And the grill itself has more options than any Mongolian grill I've ever been to (and I have been to many, many grills). They have crab and fish and scallops and sausage and standard beef, pork, chicken mmmm. And! They have one of those crazy Coke Freestyle machines with 140 drink combinations. Everything about HuHot makes me happy. I've decided that fans should be known as HuHotties, because we are. In conclusion: Hu hot? You hot! Eat this food!

I try again, and again the employees are the reason for low stars. Come in about 2PM. Grill cook with long beard but no restraint or net. Ew! Health code violation! I shouldn't have to ask for the drink menu to be left at the table. Nor should I have to ask for the check when I've been sitting at my table for 10+ minutes without getting more food. Improvements have been made in keeping the food stations clean and full, but still not to desirable levels. Holes in the walls and broken/missing tiles also detract from full score. This location needs a manager that can make his/her restaurant meet minimal expectations for service and cleanliness. This was my 8th visit at this location and I have yet to see acceptable service and cleanliness. I'm done. (I should not have to point out and mention these basics to you when I'm there, these are MINIMUM expectations for ALL food service locations.)

If you have the time and patience then this is a place to try. They have many choices for meat and great amount for the vegetables section. They area where you pick the sauce for your creation can be intimidating for first timer but grab a recipe card to guide you. Now comes the part where you have to wait for your meat to cook. Sometimes it take a while to get through this process. It a traffic jam for food. After you get though that then you get to eat your creation and hopefully you did a good job. If not then you will have to repeat the whole process. So this lunch and dinner is going to take time. If you are an engineer or some type of organizer then this is a great place to practice your trade. You have to try to get as much in your bowl to make the process worth while. If you do not then you will eat your food quickly and have to start again. The other part is remembering what you did once you find that recipe you created. Kids love this where they can put stuff together to try. sign up for there email and you will get a free meal for your birthday. Good luck.

I enjoyed huhot its priced appropriately about $10 for the all you can eat lunch Mongolian grill, although they only want you to bring one bowl at a time and they are pretty small its hard to fit all the meat, veggies, and noodles you want into your bowl. That my only gripe.

This place was really fun. All you can eat. I like the idea of picking your fresh food (well veggies were all fresh) and them cooking it right in front of you. So you walk in and grab a bowl. Try not to put too much in one bowl cuz it gets full quick. You pick your meat (meats are frozen). You have pork, beef, chicken and sausage to choose from- pick all 4 if you want. Then you pick your noodles and then veggies galore. The last thing you pick while your standing in line is your sauce. They have MANY different sauces to choose from. My recommendation is taking a look at their suggested "recipes" which are sauces that would be ok to mix taste-wise. I added so many cuz I didn't know what to do and it came out tasting not that great. So don't go nuts with all the sauces if you don't know whether they'll go good together or not. The last part is where they cook your food right in front of you in an assembly line like manner. They have about 4 cooks frying up your food. It's pretty organized. The also have a soda mixer machine where you can add almost any flavor to your soda. I'm not a big soda drinker but thought this was neat. Lastly. The service was great. All the staff was very nice. I'll def go back!

I've been coming to eat here for lunch since it opened. The service has been great and the food has been delicious. Today however, was a different experience. I found a piece of hair in my food, as I discovered this, the manager was walking around asking everyone how their meal was, I told him about the hair and that it's not a big deal but they might just want to let their chefs know this. The first thing the manager says is "how do I know this isn't your hair" wow really? I have dark hair and this is clearly a blonde piece of hair. I was really offended, he could of easily of said "sorry for any inconvenience, I'll notify our chefs." I will not be going back here, that to me is very poor customer service. Your food is still delicious and the waiters/waitresses are very nice. But due to this manager, you've lost a loyal customer.

This place was much better than I expected. I went into it with very negative thoughts based on some of the reviews I read and I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. The service was great and our group sat down pretty quickly. It's a buffet style, and the meat was scary to me at first but everything I made turned out great. Fill your bowl with meat, noodles, and a bunch of veggies, then go crazy with the sauce! I would go back.

Went their again and much better. Service much improved. Pretty crowded but they moved us thru the cooking process pretty quick. Try the creamier sauces -- nice change.

I have been here more than couple of times now and it is a real good place to have a Mongolian buffet! The food options are good, not to mention a diversified option of spices to choose from. Being a vegetarian, I liked the way the cooks were cleaning the area and maintaining separation upon request. The place has ample space to accommodate guests. Definitely on my visit again list!

OMG how I've missed Panda Mongolian BBQ. It was a dive down on 13th and State but it was so good. They used to have a system where you could buy one bowl or get all you can eat. I was a master of the tall bowl. I could stack a bowl a good 18" high to avoid the all you can eat. And it was just good food for a good price. Then it closed and Baby Jesus cried. (in his ghost manger, lookin' at his Baby Einstein developmental...videos, learnin' 'bout shapes and colors..) So then I heard about HuHot and had to try it. I still miss Panda but this is pretty darn good food. So here's the skinny. You go in and it's always all you can eat (my one complaint and the reason for the 4 stars). You can get it to go and just pay for one bowl but if you eat in it is all you can eat. You go up to the bar and choose from a huge selection of meats and produce. They have Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Krab (yes with a K) and a few fishes if I remember right. Oh and sausage, can't forget the pork. As for produce there is everything from baby corn to pineapple to peppers, etc. They also have noodles. Then you choose from their sauce bar. This is where it blows Panda out of the water. Their sauce bar has an infinite number of possibilities ranging from mild to ring of fire the next day hot. (Still need to try that one). Finally you take it to the chef and he cooks it on a huge mongolian grill in front of you. Then you eat. The food is delicious. It's reasonably priced. (Think it's like $12). The place is much cleaner than Mongolian was which is nice. All in all it's good food for a great price.

What a great find. I love Mongolian BBQ, and these guys do it right! Huge selection of veggies, amazing sauces, all you can eat! So many vegan options, and plenty of meat for the carnivores. No lines, because we had a late lunch. There's probably a wait if you go during rush times. I'll definitely be back, and often.

This place is pretty Awesome as far as Mongolian grills go. I loved the selection of sauces from mild to hot tangy to sweet and they have recipe cards to help you out. Great service and all you can eat at dinner. My wife and I spent over $30 easy for just drinks and the grill but well with the dent to your wallet.

Great place for people with food allergies. They give you a different colored bowl and this causes the cooks to deep clean the cooker before cooking your food. My family including my picky eaters love to come here and eat. We always leave full.

Eh- it's ok, but there are definitely better Mongolian grills in SLC. My husband really enjoyed it. I would prefer not to handle frozen meat or wait at the grill for the food to cook.

You have to pass at least 10 mediocre restaurants on your way to eat here. Do yourself a favor and settle for mediocrity which will be quite a step up from this dirty - bad service - over priced dump. Do yourself a favor and eat an average cheeseburger at Chilis - 10 times better and half the money. HuHot Mongolian Grill - DON'T BOTHER

We went there on opening night. We were curious, and prepared for there to be some hiccups. But there weren't any, the whole experience was extremely positive. The line up to the Mongolian grill was a bit long, but moved nicely, and the food as well worth the wait. I don't know if all the HuHot resturants do this, but this place allowed you to get drinks for those mix-and-match soda machines - they brought you out a 140-selection drink menu and you got to pick. It's a little thing, but I thought it was awesome. :) The wait staff was great, and were very well organized for the first night. The owners were even walking around welcoming people to the restaurant. We ordered a soup with dinner, but they didn't come, and when we asked about it, they said, "to be honest, the soups were made wrong so we're not serving soup tonight." We weren't really keen on getting the soup, so it didn't bother us, and I appreciated that they were very honest about it. So good atmosphere, good food, good service, and a very positive opening night! I think we'll be back here a lot!

We love HuHot. The service has always been ok. Not great, but what can you expect. They only need to refill drinks so you don't need significant attention. The sauces are tasty and there is a great selection. The menu cards are handy and this restaurant offers gluten free option, all of which are clearly marker. I have been several times. I have always really enjoyed my food and the atmosphere.

I have to update my rating here. I love Huhot in CO, it's never less than good and often amazing. The sauces in Utah though are watered down to the point of being detrimental to the dishes-they are not the thick, great tasting flavors that I am accustomed to. Will not go back until this egregious oversight is fixed.

I love Hu Hot in Sandy. I recommend it to all my co workers, family, friends. It is fun, yummy, and good for the picky. I am a very picky girl, so I love that I make my own bowl and they grill it up right in front of me. The egg drop soup is my favorite, add some dry noodles to it, yum. Even my four year old likes to eat here, and that says something.

I have never been to HuHot Mongolian Grill before this time but was very impressed with this one in Sandy. We went for lunch and the prices were very reasonable for what you get. You cant complain about $8.99 for all you can eat. I felt like the food was quality and was by no means cheap. I went back three times and was impressed with everything I tried. I see a few negative reviews here because the food was not good, the thing is you make your own meal and you season it yourself. So if you dont like something you get that is probably your own Fault. The Staff was very friendly and on top of things. The Manager seemed to really know his stuff and was very nice to all the customers and well as his employees. Ill be going back!

i will have to say it took a while to go back. we were actually contacted by the owner of the company Michael after our review and i will say he is a smart businessman. good job Michael. it is because of your service that we returned. we went back in april and the service was a complete turnaround!!! there was not a gaggle of teenage girls chatting and goofing off, they were gone, but the employees that WERE there were VERY professional and helpful. (good job) you know who you are ;) we enjoyed our evening very much. I will definitely recommend this place to friends now that the kinks are worked out.

To wait in such ridiculously long lines, the food would have to be way better than what I could get at a normal restaurant (you know, sit down, waitress comes, takes my order, brings me the food). A group of 7 of us, from work, got there about 11:30, made it through the line in fairly good time. Nothing to complain about. But, by the time we were ready for a second trip through the grill line, it was so long that, those who did decide to make the trip through, it literally took 20 minutes. And, you will need two trips through the line because the one small bowl limit per trip gives you so little food on the first trip through, a second is required ... if you want to actually get your $10 worth. Ludicrous business model. Can't imagine that people voluntary subject themselves to such an experience twice, unless they miss the DMV lines of old.

I had such high hopes. Looks like a great concept as far as the marketing and set up but the execution is very disappointing. First, we weren't even greeted when we walked in, just led to our table. I was suddenly overcome with a chuck-a-Rama feel as I was surrounded by dirty tables...actually chuck-a-Rama is cleaner. We then headed to the bar to fill our bowls. There was food spilled all over the counter and floors, the sauces were a mess...dripped everywhere and I'm sure cross contaminated. Next, the grill...the counter around the grill was sticky and messy and there was food everywhere. Are you noticing a theme? Maybe they are short-staffed because clearly they were not staying on top of clean up. As we sat down to eat, we were surrounded by unbused tables. My meat was so over cooked it was like beef jerky and some of my noodles were burnt crispy. I am really hopeful that managers or owners read this because these are all issues that can be easily fixed. I'd like to give it another try but not a chance in its current condition. Please fix these problems...I've missed Mongolian BBQ.

What a nightmare. Went for lunch and the place was a madhouse. Subpar service and they can't accommodate very many. We were in a line of 40 people waiting to have their food cooked. Got sick of waiting so we walked out. I have heard the food is good but bad accommodations. I don't think I will try going again.

Let me start out by saying that my wife and I LOVE HuHot (see my review of a HuHot in Des Moines). We were so looking forward to taking our family here because we had talked it up so much over the last 5-7 years. We even called our family in Des Moines to give them the good news that we finally have one in Utah. Well, as you can see from the rating, all of us were disappointed. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because I know it can be so much better and they have the awesome drink selection. I don't know where to start because so many things went wrong last Saturday night we were in there. First Issue - not a big one, but one that could easily be corrected. The person that shows you to your table should do more than just place a stack of napkins and forks on the table and walk away. If you have to wait for a seat (when half the place is full) the least they could do is set out the place settings - I don't really understand what they are being paid to do if that is all they are trained to do. We could have easily found and open table and grabbed napkins or forks from central location. Also, for a group of 7, it would be great to get more than one food menu and more than one drink menu. Yes, I know, "if you would have only asked we would have brought you more" but you know what, this is the type of thing you shouldn't have to ask for. Second Issue - a huge one, better trained staff (cooks, waiters, line staff, etc.) There should be one, if not two people, dedicated to the food area to ensure it is stocked properly, try to manage food cross-contamination and make sure the area is as clean as it can be, the sauce section included. This should be all that they do and are concerned about. This should be something that someone with a little focus and dedication can manage. If they don't or can't, find something that will. Yes, there were many selections that were either out or were so badly mixed up with other food items that we chose not to get that topping/item because we didn't want what else was in there. The cooks. One in particular, need some serious customer service training. I was in line and of course those that are waiting for their food need to move around the grill to get your food on the other side. We'll this cook kept yelling (yes, yelling - on a side note the other cooks knew how to communicate to customers but this guy did not) at the line to move down. We were moving and he kept yelling. I spoke up and said that we were moving and his response was a typical snide middle school type of response trying to mock me in front of everyone. Everyone in the line looked around like, did he really just do that? I was irritated along with everyone else so I took out my phone can snapped a picture to help with this review. Sure keep this guy on, I'm sure he can take food off a grill like no one's business but he really shouldn't be in the food or any service business if he treats customers like that. While I would never say to fire the person, I can almost guarantee you that if this isn't addressed and taken care of he will give you more problems than he's worth. In my customer service business, I can tell you he would have been fired on the spot, no warnings, no questions asked because you never ever talk to a customer that way. I did speak to the manager about this (all I can assume is that it was Michael that responds to these reviews) but don't know if anything ever happened or if it's being taken care of. The waiters. I won't name him here but our waiter, a really nice guy, really shouldn't be waiting tables. We waited for 50 minutes just to get Mac n Cheese, KRAFT Mac n Cheese, for my son. After bringing it up with him and then also letting the manager know when he came by to check on us, it was finally delivered after a few more minutes. Also, a simple "sorry for the wait" or "our apologies it took so long" etc. would be been nice as well from either the waiter or the manager but that didn't happen. Six others in our party had already gone through the line, eaten their first dish and were in line for seconds by the time the Mac n Cheese came out. Also, the salads that come with the meal also took 50+ minutes to make to our table. That is just unacceptable. And that's not all, our waiter (again, he's a really nice guy) started to talk to us as we asked for the check. He started to talk about how he would never eat anything in here. I couldn't believe it. My dad grabbed my arm in disbelief as our waiter said "if you held a gun to my head I wouldn't eat anything over there (pointing to the food are)"....not once...but twice he repeated this!! I still can't believe it as I write it. I wish I would have pulled out my phone and recorded it because we were amazingly shocked. Michael E, if you're the manager, I'm sure you'll read this and if you recall I did bring several of these items up with you. I hope you make the necessary adjustments.

Great Mongolian in the salt lake valley. Clean and friendly service. Always willing to accommodate various dietary needs by cleaning the grill and separating if vegetarian or peanut allergies. We love going here with large groups as they can accommodate various dietary restrictions including gluten free. Excellent selection on meats and veggies and 3 noodle type options as well. Avoid on Friday or Saturday nights as it's way too busy.

I'm happy to see a new Mongolian BBQ joint in Utah. The interior is airy, modern and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner herself even stopped by our table and chatted with us. The Mongolian BBQ concept is a familiar one: step up to the line, grab a bowl, fill it with the items of your choosing, hand it over and watch them grill it in front of your eyes, then return to your table and enjoy. Some people have mumbled about the bowls being somewhat small, but this isn't a big issue since you can return to the line as many times as you like. (Genuinely boorish customers can go ahead and grab two bowls at once--the staff is far too courteous to prevent anyone from doing so.) Personally, I think the smaller bowls promote experimentation--if you try something you genuinely don't like, you haven't wasted five pounds of food... so go ahead and step outside your comfort zone. Speaking of experimentation, I've got to mention the sauce selection. HuHot offers a very nice variety of sauces for your dish. Their menu lists about a dozen different ones, but when you arrive at the sauce station you'll find out that there are another ten or twelve offerings which the menu never mentioned. Feel free to mix and match to your heart's content--they have 'recipes' for you to follow, or you can be like me and just create your own concoction. One last thing that needs to be mentioned is their soft drink selection. HuHot uses Freestyle Coke machines, which means you have about 125 varieties of soda. The wait staff brings these to your table, so HuHot has laminated menus just for the drink options. (This is fantastic for anyone who has never seen or used a Freestyle machine, as the sheer variety will be overwhelming to them.) Experimenting with your beverage is encouraged, so feel free to do so. Long story short, HuHot offers lots of tasty variety and is a pleasant place to dine.

During our 5 trips here, the service progressively got worse. The host was unfriendly and stopped to talk to fellow coworkers before seating us. The food trays were mixed with food from neighboring trays-so badly that we had to pick out what we wanted. Despite the many sauces, the food is still tasteless and nondescript. At our table, 3 flies were fighting us for our food. We've given up. We can make tastier food at home.

Been to other places like this elsewhere. Over all the food was good, you make it yourself so can't complain if it is bad, right? You can't really go wrong as long as you are providing fresh vegetables and meat on the serving line and your services is good. Should be an automatic minimum 3 start kind of place. My only issue with this specific chain unlink others I have been to here in Phoenix is the size of the bowls and the very long line waiting in line for the grill. If back in the Sandy area I could go back but when I travel I try not to hit up the same place again unless it was outstanding. I wish yelp would break the ratings down into sections, like a service rating, a food rating, a building/environment rating, etc. My food rating and building rating would stay the same 3 start. It was OK, and that is all it will get. However, my waitress and the rest of the staff should get a 5 start rating for how hard they all worked that night. Just a note: I reviewed this place months after I went.

We recently moved here from Arizona and I was excited to see a Mongolian BBQ place and couldn't wait to try it. Well I came, I saw/ate and I left unfulfilled and will not go back. It was messy and the service left much to be desired. If we had not been to Mongolian BBQ's before this, we would have been in the dark because we were not told where things were or how the system works. Thankfully we knew the drill. The containers of ingredients on the line were less than desirable as well. Frozen crispy thin meat slices/chips. Water chestnuts that smelled soured and just not a very good presentation of the product. The bowls are tiny so you cannot properly load and smash down your ingredients. If you have ever had real Mongolian you know they give you a large bowl because once the items hit the heat of the grill they shrink a great deal. And by the time you try to put even the most minimal of ingredients in your bowl when you try to add sauce to it, it tends to just run off the contents or the bowl, and is not evenly distributed. I am not sure how the cooks are trained but I ended up with literally blackened and scorched vegetables and it was the worst. She did not put enough oil on the extremely high heat grill and everything was sticking and burning. Not very appetizing or enjoyable. So I guess I will have to keep my Mongolian cravings under wraps and indulge when we make our trips back to Phoenix.

Tonight we tried Hu Hot for our second time. We were not very impressed the first time, but thought we would try again, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately it was not to be. On a positive note, both times we felt our servers were very friendly and did their job well. Both times we went later in the evening and we were sat promptly. There was a gentleman who I assume was the restaurant manager who was sitting at a booth near us with another man and two obnoxious teenagers. The manager was talking too loudly drawing attention to himself. I kept wondering when he was going to get off his ass and work. I am positive that there is some cleaning that needs to be done (see below). The seating areas were very clean and the decor is nice. However, the buffet area and the grill area are absolutely filthy. The vegetable bins were sloppy and intermixed. They should use larger bins adding more space between them. The sauce station was messy with sauce dripping everywhere. This time I tried the egg drop soup. It was very watered down and flavorless. Now onto the grill. Dear Lord, what a nightmare! The line is too long. They need to find ways to speed it up or do what other Mongolian grills do and assign a number to your table which in turn is written onto a Popsicle stick. This would allow you to return to your seat and a server could bring you your food when it is done. This will eliminate the line and keep me from losing my appetite looking at the filth on that grill and floor. This was our last time dining at Hu Hot. It is simple not worth the time and it quite honestly isn't that good. I recommend you try Charlie Chows in Salt Lake City. They have so many more options, better sauces and they offer rice in addition to noodles. They bring your food to you when it is done and their meat is always fresh, not frozen.

My wife and myself really enjoy going to HuHot. The food is really good, service has always been just right for my liking, and typically will have a chance to talk with the Manager who is always walking around. I love the fact that it is buffet style so you can adjust your meal each time back. Lot of options when it comes to the veggies and sauces.

I like this place! The meat is kept at the proper temperatures, the fruits and vegetables are plentiful and fresh and the service was good. The best part is the sauce bar, the creations and flavors that are possible is endless. The lunch is $8.99, dinner is $12.99 (after 4), both are all you can eat and come with steamed rice. The restaurant itself is clean, new, organized well and open feeling. We will be back.

I went and had dinner here on Wednesday the 5th, the place seamed busy but not packed. Not knowing any better I grabbed two bowls, placed meat and sauce in one and noddles in the other. Once my food was prepared I handed the bowls to the cook who began cooking them separately as if he was unaware I had intended them to be made together. I instantly notified the cook I wanted them to made as one and not separate. He said no, its only one bowel per person at a time, he then went on to explain because I had made two bowels I was holding up the line by an extra three minutes. Long story short, He refused to give them to me on one plate and instead handed me two plates, one with overly soaked meat and one with dry noodles. I disagree with the one bowl at a time rule, and that's fine, I can live with the rule. However, because I was unaware of the rule (even though its posted-just didn't see the sign) I was told "No, this is managements way of saying you cant do this" I then went and sat at my table with flavorless food all because they were trying to make a point. A simple explanation would have been fine and a much more professional way of handling the matter. Your going to cook the food either way, so telling a customer no isn't saving time or solving a problem, its creating one...

We were incredibly curious to try HuHot and we were pleasantly surprised. Don't let the all-you-can eat fool you. You fill up fast because it's pretty heavy food. I started small and experimented with a few flavors, not filling the whole bowl in case I hated my combination of veggies and sauce. Luckily I chose a delicious combo for sauce and just changed up the noodles and veggies for the next bowl. Be patient. The cooks are working hard and fast while trying not to burn their hands and arms. Fingers are important and they work through oil burns. The lines are fantastically long at dinner time so either go early (5ish) or for lunch. Or go for dinner if you're not famished and grumpy for fast service. It's definitely a fun dinner but not an every night choice. Calorie and flavor packed dinner for special occasions.

LOVE this place! Service was great, polite, and fast! Every time we go here the cooks always joke around with us or do cool tricks while cooking out food! They have a ton of drink choices and are always up for refills. The only thing I would say is they should get bigger bowls to put the food in....

First time eating here this week! It was good! So many option of how to make your dish! It was also fun to watch the grillers cook my food! I'm a sucker for spicy food! And they delivered! The only reason for 3 stars is the horrible wait staff... They all looked like they hated their jobs and I only got one refill the entire meal.

Do not go here!!! The food is mediocre at best and is way over priced. I think I paid $2.39 for a small glass of milk for my 2 year old daughter and $10 for an appetizer plate. The Sandy location is the most expensive with the least selection. Go somewhere else!!

i never even knew this place existed until we got a mailer sent to us. we decided to try it out on a friday night and it was not a very good experience. first off there's always a long line to put food in your bowl and then have it grilled. they need more grills and a more effective line. it loops around in an odd way and people are confused on where to stand. second they had a wedding party come in about 15 minutes after we arrived - over 100 people! if they're going to take such a large reservation they should close the whole restaurant done or have a separate grill for them. the line became ridiculous and the restaurant should have been better prepared. however i will say that all the staff was very friendly, and i was very impressed with that given how busy they were. the exception was one of the staff members on the grill. i said i was gluten free and the girl said to hold on. she told another staff member and he said, in a very irritated tone of voice, "i don't have time for this." i'm sorry, but it is not my fault that your restaurant overbooked itself. i hate being a difficult customer, but i am still a customer and your hostess assured me that you can accommodate gluten free guests. i realize that they were overworked and we all have those moments of frustration, but it's not professional to say things like that out loud where your customer can hear you. it didn't make me feel welcome and made my dining experience end on a very negative note. the food itself was average. i filled my bowl with beef, mushrooms, onions, and different sauces. their sauce selection was huge and it was fun to try different varieties. the best was their most popular sauce - the one with coconut milk and peanuts in it. they do have an allergy sheet they can give you so you can see which sauces you can eat so that was helpful. we also had the egg drop soup, which was included, and it was so disgusting. we both took a spoonful and shoved that bowl to the side. it lacked flavor and was too runny. i'd avoid their soup and try their salads instead. overall average food that wasn't horrible. however it wasn't good enough that i would want to come back.

Good food and a great atmosphere! Everyone was friendly. Little long of a wait to get your food on the grill. Parking is great. Easy to find and access. Looks cool from the outside. Would recommend but wouldn't go out of your way to go there.

We love Mongolian Grill! There aren't many I know of in SLC. I was so psyched when HuHot came to my area. I love the fresh variety of meats, sauces & veggies. The staff is friendly but the 2 best things about HuHot is the Freestyle coke variety & the crab wontons. They are a must have!! Best advice: lots of small plates to try different style selections. I love they have recipes! Enjoy!!!! Oh and they are open Sundays in Sandy!!!!

The place was packed. We waited in a line to get seated and we waited in a line to get our food cooked. I felt like I was in one line after another. Kinda like a cattle or something. Anyway I guess I'd wait in line after line for good food but the food was very average. :( Not going to convince my wife to go again.

This is a great place for a party, a date or casual dinner with friends. There are literally hundreds of combinations at the buffet Mongolian grill of meat, veggies, noodles and sauces. And there are more than 100 beverages available (I had the raspberry Sprite Zero). The recipe cards before you step up to the grill help you to find fun combinations that honor dietary preferences or restrictions. Being a gluten-free gal, I appreciated the amazing array of options for gluten-free eaters as well as the very conscientious grill staff, who cooks allergy combos separately and safe from cross contamination. The atmosphere is fun and the manager came up to ask how we enjoyed the meal, honestly wanting feedback. It's a great place with delicious food!

Disclosure...did not actually get to eat... Walked in with husband at 6am on a Saturday. Not too busy but 60% full - husband asked for a booth since there were a couple other two person parties in others and there were 4 booths available. We were told no because those are six tops. Not huge but felt a bit of a double standard. Waited five minutes and no one offered drinks or explained how the place worked. Finally we just got up and got in line (love Mongolia and got it regularly in CA). Bowls were small and signs requested only one... which meant lots of mess from overflowing bowls. Veggies had lots of water but looked passable. Sauces were easy enough to understand. Tofu was falling apart and mixed with cilantro or something... What scared us was the grill. It was very dirty and as they "cleaned" it we saw they didn't have clean/dirty utensils separated and let a lot of the sauces mix by putting people's orders too close together. Normally we've seen grills cleaned by scrubbing then using a wet rag to sanitize. They did a cursory scrape with a dirty spatula and threw on more food. Made us both very uncomfortable so we walked.

It would be nice if someone there knew what they were doing and didn't make excuses. 25 mins after I asked my "server" for the check I had to flag down the manager who didn't even apologize.

There aren't very many good Mongolian Grills in Utah, but this is definitely one of them. The service is generally very good and the food is a B+. I just wish they offered more types of meats and veggies in the grill line.

Food was great! The grill works wonderfully. I feel like they do a great job keeping lines moving. This is the first Mongolian Grill I've been to where the food is kept frozen until they cook it. The sauce choices and recipes they have ready are great and options are vast. Love it and will be coming back for sure.

My wife and daughter really like this place and suggested it for Dinner Dec 11th. We all like Mongolian Grills and miss having one close by since we moved up to Salt Lake City, so I was very eager to try the place out. The quick review: -Neat decor. -Attentive staff. -Great pricing. -Great selection of items to cook. -Well organized process to get food cooked at the grill. (Hand cook your bowl of food to be cooked, then wait as you watch them work.) -Grill area and methods very sloppy. Despite having an ample cook staff to work the grill and a medium load of customers, the grill and area surrounding it was awash in the filth of spilled, uncooked food and the scrapings from the grill. I have been to many restaurants of this type and have seen the how good ones operate, and this one is the worst I witnessed. I could go on... Long story short: Ok place in need of a trained, attentive cook staff, or at least Management that recognizes that things are amiss and sets a higher standard for cleanliness. They fix the grill area/cook staff and this place would warrant a 3, maybe 4 star. And my wife and daughter still like the place, so we'll be back... Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day.

I really like Hu Hots! I fell in love with this place in Montana and was so excited to see them come to Utah. This is NOT one of those dirty Mongolian BBQ places with limited toppings. It is clean and has so many toppings and options. The food is delicious and is all you can eat! They have so many yummy fresh toppings and amazing sauce combinations! This particular Hu Hots should place their flavoring cards in a better more visible location. We were VERY unimpressed with the service. Our server girl visited with her friends the entire time and ignored us. I wanted to reflect this more in the review however, the food was great and Hu Hots is such a fun experience so I didn't. Our server needs to be terminated. It should be noted that the server is not needed too much as you get to do your own food combinations so don't let this worry you too much! Overall this is a fun place to go when you are really hungry!

For a Mongolian grill it's great. Modern clean interior, with a great selection of food and sauces. So the food and the cooks are 5 stars for the class of restaurant (buffet style). We have been here a few times and the service is terrible as others said. We had one good waitress that was outstanding, the other times we waited a long time for drinks and other things. We also went close to closing time and they wee moping the floors as we were trying to get food, dangerous, annoying and unappetizing. If they would improve the service and keep little unattended brats from poking in the food (a problem at all Utah buffets) they would be a favorite of mine.

Went about 6:30 on a Wednesday. Place was not really busy, probably 1 out of 3 tables taken. Food and service was great! The waiter explained the establishments procedures and offered tips on preparing our meal. The manager was out on the floor checking tables and talking with patrons. The food prep area was clean and well stocked. I have eaten at numerous Mongolian places and this is my favorite.

Amazing tastes, limitless concoctions, and endless buffett all make an outstanding meal! I absolutely love this place and took a friend who had never been and he was pretty impressed. Huhot is very accommodating for people with allergies and will get you absolutely fresh stuff with no possibility of allergic residue. The atmosphere here is a little different than the other Huhots I've been to. The ceiling seems a lot taller and the space seems much more open. Also, the lighting was pretty bright for a Huhot. I prefer the softer lighting and less open space at the other Huhots. They did have a dragon hanging from the ceiling which was pretty rad! Mix and match and have fun!

It a all you can eat buffet but they have a one bowl restriction every go around. But they have small bowls which makes it impossible to get a full bowl of food.

Great friendly service, and pretty good food. There are so many different sauces to choose, so if you're a bit of a cook, you can really enjoy your creations. Or you can also screw it up. But there are itemized instructions if you like Szechuan style, pud Thai, etc etc. We were the very first customers to walk in on their grand opening. We had a great experience. Can't wait to come back and try their s'mores dessert.

Messy buffet, too long grill wait, cooks gossiping, slow waiter/busser, toilet broken, no finishing sauces after grill pick-up, not worth the time or money.

I've been to other iterations of this chain and they were better. This one is a bit dirty, the cooks don't know what they are doing, the grill was not the right temp to cook, and the wait staff inept even though the place was half empty. And don't expect the ginger ale to be good, it's coke.

It gave me a stomach ache and I tossed and turned in my bed all night long. How can a capsicum and beef be cooked from raw within the same time in the same temperature?

This place is disgusting. The food tastes terrible and the restaurant is filthy. Do not eat here. I feel violated after eating here.

My wife and I had late lunch today at HuHot. It's Sunday, 2pm and yet pretty decent number of diners. It's my wife's second visit, my first. I love the open concept place. It's very spacious and pleasant looking. The food is great and I really love the sauce combinations. I used the recommended measurements as my base then added other sauces. Turned out still very tasteful. Service is great. I do have two inputs, first the handles of the sauce ladles are longer than needed and I always hit the glass cover every time I pour my sauces onto my plates. Second, the bowl could be made a little bigger or have another price range for one that's bigger. Overall, I'm delighted with the service, food and place. We'll definitely be back!

Really great staff & food!! The selections were great, everything was delicious and my drink was never empty! The price was good, $8.99 for an all you can eat lunch.

I did not have a very good experience at Hu Hot... The food was pretty bland, no matter how many sauces I added. The areas where the food is was pretty messy, as well as where the food is cooked. My main beef with the place was the price though. Holy crap! Ridiculously expensive for the quality. The only redeeming qualities of this place is that is looks pretty cool on the inside and a couple of the waitresses are way cute. My suggestion is go to Janbo Express or if you go north to Layton there is a great Mongolian grill on Antelope Drive next to the Target.

Great food and the service was great today. Really, if you don't like the food here it's your own fault because you can create your own combos. Very fun experience!

Love creating new combinations. We were regulars at the restaurant in Kalispell, Mt. I just realized they opened one here in Sandy. We came for dinner on a Sunday evening. Not crowded at all. Great service and food.

If you like Mongolian BBQ this place is one of the best! Quality and selection of food is excellent. Price is fair. The staff is friendly and fast.

The food was pretty good, but the service and cleanliness are questionable. The front desk staff, the cooks, and the waitress were slow and unprepared. Foods seem like they are cross-contaminated at both the buffet and the grill. There are better Mongolian grills out there. We might visit again...

Outside of Chang's which burnt down... Mongolian in Kent Washington, Hu Hot is the best Mongolian grill restaurant at which I've enjoyed the Khan's style cooking.

If I were to live in a dictatorship regime, I would probably be OK with this restaurant. However, since I am living in a place where the customer is always right, I do not think I will eat here again. The staff and the owner was a bit rude and they were trying to "educate" us on how to fit the spaghetti, meat and vegetables into one little soup bowl...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
