    I have been here 4+ times. Breakfast - The Chili Verde Omelet is a must try. Lunch - Cod and Chips are deep fried to perfection. Spicy Philly Cheese Steak rocks. Super friendly staff and the food comes out fast!

    Basic, standard run-of-the-mill greasy spoon diner. Décor needs some work, but I understand they're soon to go through a remodel. Hopefully, they will either anchor the tables to an appropriate distance from the seats or throw them out and get some others in that will be an appropriate distance from the seats. There is little more annoying than having to deal with that in a restaurant. Service was pretty decent overall, though. While it seems like a moderately European-themed place, there are oddly-named things on the menu, such as the ones under the "Redneck" tag. Flair, I guess. There is also more personality injected into various other dishes, only some of which is descriptive. All those things create a very odd sort of ambiance, so it comes down to the food, which came out to the table at an ungodly pace perhaps best described as glacial, well past unreasonably slow. The English chips were pretty decent, but about par for the course at other places I've had them also. I'm guessing these are from the same frozen purveyor. The pancake tower was about as advertised. Both bacon and sausage were cooked to my liking, as was the over-medium eggs, which were actually correct for once. The pancakes were a bit bland and that applies also to the bacon and sausage. Iced tea was sort of a throwaway but drinkable...just barely. When all was said and done, there was nothing particularly special or memorable about this place, just a pretty solid, albeit agonizingly delayed, Americana greasy spoon diner. I'd consider it again if I was in the area, in the mood for breakfast and had tried nearly everything else of interest around it...

    I have only been here once in all fairness, but I doubt I will go back. The food wasn't bad or anything, but it is missing character, and the execution was ok. I like my food to look appealing to me, and make me want to eat it. Their service was defiantly good, but the food was not all that amazing to me.

    We have been desperately searching for a good breakfast place in the Sandy / Draper / South Jordan area, but have been having a hard go at it. I remember going to Brittons several years ago and not being very impressed. To be fair though, I was experiencing relationship issues with the ex at the time, and so I think my experience might have been a bit... Compromised. Hoping to exercise the ghosts of the past, Blue and I headed to this unassuming joint for a later breakfast. The service was super friendly and helpful, and I get the feeling that a good bulk of their patrons are solid regulars. There are no bells or whistles to this place, and no pretense. They are what they are and proud of it. The food is your classic greasy spoon, and you won't leave hungry. I believe what I ordered was the garbage hash... Or something like that... Essentially it was everything on the breakfast menu piled atop a mountain of hash browns. I also opted to have it smothered... As God intended. Good food, reasonable price, friendly service, and no pretense... I think we might have found our new favorite breakfast place.

    Always enjoy my time being here. Most of the time I would order their pancakes and wallfle, but this time I decided to get something different. So hog burger and Louisiana Heart Attack have kick my sweet friends' butt off. I love grilled cheese, and I love burger. Hog burger is the combination of these two. How could someone be so smart and came up with this brilliant idea! Louisiana Heart Attack has made me think of Chinese food, but presented in the American way. I didn't expect the English chips, which by the way is the side, would look like this. It tasted like fried fish, so crispy on the outside but tender inside. I would definitely order this again next time.

    I can't believe how amazing Brittons is. All of the amazing people, wonderful food and an atmosphere that takes you back 20 years to the MA and PA diners that covered America's highways. They have the most amazing food. Order the 2x5 breakfast and you'll roll out of there full and happy. Create your own omelets, true homemade French toast, coffee as it should be and the most amazing country gravy that's great on everything. Say hi to Shari. Owner and waitress. Check out the wall decor and be ready to talk with die hard U of U fans. I would love to write more right now but my food got here way too fast. Lol. Num num num.

    Today I decided to place a to-go order for breakfast. Never been to this place and noticed it was rather busy on weekends. Ordered a 3 egg Southwest omelet and eggs Benedict. They said it would take 10 minutes, I ended up being 20 minutes late and the food wasn't even ready. Once they got it all packaged up I was on my way 15 minutes later. The omelet was pretty good, the avocado was fresh and ripe. The salsa was really tasty almost too good as it was so full of flavor. The eggs Benedict had burned ham, soggy muffins and wasn't that great. Now on to the bad part, 2 hours after eating I got a massive headache, my frontal lobe was tightening up. That normally happens when I go to a low quality Chinese place that loads their food full of MSG. Called to speak to the manager and they said they weren't available and I left my name and number. Still have yet to hear back and don't want to be passive aggressive with this. I have a hunch that they use MSG heavily and wanted to confirm with them just to be sure.

    Because we work and live so close we are here minimum once a week. Friendly staff and family ran. I always get the same veggie omelette because it's so good. I hear the chili verde is good too.

    I came here for brunch and ordered the pancake tower because I was craving something savory and sweet. The dish was filling and good but it was nothing special. You get what you would expect from a diner. I would come back here if I'm craving diner food but there are better brunch spots in Salt Lake City.

    The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5 stars is the wonky hours. Brittons has delicious food that is more than reasonably priced! The service is fantastic! There is no pretentious airs. Just amazing food, waitress that really care, good parking, and leaving without pie would be a mistake *wink*

    My wife and I stopped here last weekend after reading some reviews online. It was hopping. We were sat within 15 minutes, at a round bistro-style table near the kitchen. It wasn't ideal and we knew it'd be busy, but we took it to get a table faster. We ordered the Garbage Pile, smothered with country gravy. At almost $11, it's not a cheap breakfast. But we knew it would be big so we just ordered one. Glad we did, it was plenty for two. The meal was delicious! Might be the best diner breakfast I've ever had. It came with a nice big fluffy pancake. The service was good, especially for how busy they were. The place was quite loud, especially where we were sitting. But it's a happy loud; everyday folk having good food together. There were two (I think) TVs mounted in corners tuned to sports games. They have two large round tables that could accommodate 6-8 people and they had pushed together a couple of tables for a group of 8-10. There is some outdoor seating, but it's right next to a fairly busy street. We live 40 minutes south of Britton's but we'll be coming back for sure.

    We all had burgers for lunch, and they were excellent. I had the pastrami burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Milkshake and fries were good too. Big portions and very reasonable prices. However, the service was bad. We stood in the entrance for almost 5 mins without being greeted, and several waitstaff walked right by us without acknowledging us. Once we sat down, our waitress was inattentive, and we had to wait and ask for drink refills etc. We will definitely come back and hope for better service.

    Well, think I've found my new favorite breakfast joint in the area. This place is only open until 3pm and serves breakfast and lunch. We went during breakfast hours and we sure enjoyed it. Went with a large group (about 12 ppl) and they were very accommodating. The food was pretty dang good. Lots of variety on the menu. Sooo many options for breakfast. I got the garbage hash which consisted of a very large serving of: hash browns, diced ham, bacon, mushrooms, diced green bell pepper (nice flavor touch), cheese and topped with 2 eggs cooked however you want. You can also top it off with extras like chile verde, gravy and/or extra cheese. I got it as is and loved it. I think I'll try adding the chile verde next time though ;) The service was fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy. The location is adorable-it's in a cute little shopping plaza with a few good shops. We went exploring after. Happy to say I really enjoyed my dining experience here.

    This is our neighborhood go to breakfast spot. The red neck wrap is my favorite. Anything with chile verde is good too. The interior is basic diner. Comfortable and a little kitschy. Service is friendly and attentive. Happy they are open Sundays.

    I feel like this is a good home grown diner. The employees are super nice and the food is good. I ordered the French toast combo with two eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon (3 strips). First of all the bacon is delicious! It is thick, cooked perfectly and I wish I had ordered a plate of bacon. I asked for the hashbrowns to be cooked well done, which means they were cooked to crunch perfection. They were a little under seasoned though, but adding salt isn't hard. The French toast was thick and was battered in a cinnamon, sweet, egg mixture. I really like that there are tons of choices on the menu and I'll be back to try something new next time.

    Oh sweet sweet baby Jesus, Britton's is where it's at. I've only tried one item from the menu, but it was almost enough to make me give up atheism. I don't use that expression lightly, either. I ordered a veggie burger, and had them replace the buns with two grilled cheeses. In these GC's, they put avocado and jalapeno peppers. The veggie patty was perfect, and the GC's were grilled to perfection. I ended up having to take off the jalapenos (I'm a wimp when it come to spice), and the sandwich was still amazing. I wish they were opened a little bit later, but beggars can't be choosers.

    Busy & friendly, sometimes service can be slow, but definitely not today (Valentines Day). Food came out quickly, and our waiter is friendly and efficient. Short wait today, although it's very busy. Try the Garbage Hash or the Two by Five...delicious. Oh, and they always have green Tabasco available!

    Great for brunch, we enjoyed this tucked away place. Apparently the manager/owner was on a tirade the morning we came, which made the people waiting for us uncomfortable, but we didn't experience it, so won't affect my review. Good, inexpensive brunch. Will be back and do recommend.

    Located in the old Godfather's Pizza restaurant, Britton's serves up diner-style food in this convenient Sandy location. With breakfast served all day and plenty of lunch options too, there are lots of good choices on the menu. We ate at Britton's for Sunday breakfast yesterday and really enjoyed it. My breakfast sandwich was well prepared and tasted great. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito with chili verde, which was also very good. The burrito wasn't very spicy but the chili verde had a great flavor. Service was snappy and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend Britton's and will be going back myself.

    Worst breakfast I've had in a very long time. The husband and I are always looking for new places to try for breakfast/brunch and while driving we spotted this restaurant. I got the corned beef and hash and my whole experience was terrible. When my food was brought out it looked like a plate of cat food with burnt toast. The taste was absolutely repulsive. After that experience we decided to give the restaurant another try. Second time was worse than the first. I will never go back.

    I'm giving this place a four because of the service. Every single time I have come here for breakfast, employees make you feel like you are at home. The breakfast ain't that bad either. Its cheap, good, and filling (usually good enough for 2 people). Its a classic diner in Utah that I frequent often after a test or a long week. Keep up the good work guys.

    This place, to quote my breakfast-loving friend is, "going on the regular breakfast rotation!" Thanks again my fellow Yelpers! Your expert advice led three of us to this little gem. It's very much a "hometown" place, looked clean and we were immediately seated. I had the chili verde omelette, which, for not the first time in my chili-verde-loving-history, was a red (?) sauce. Can anyone explain? Color be damned, it was AWESOME! It had big chunks of onion, tomatoes (Ewww) that were big enough to pick out and slide onto someone else's plate, plenty of meat and jalapeños. It came with perfect hash browns (I'm part Irish so I feel especially qualified to judge), and choice of toast or pancake. I went for the pancake and it was as good as the omelette! The syrup was thick and almost like caramel. I usually don't like pancakes at restaurants other than Left Fork Grill, but this one was perfect. The waitresses were very attentive and quickly refilled coffee cups. My breakfast-addicted friend loved her bacon, eggs and hash browns, the third member went for toast and eggs and everyone left full and planning to return.

    This is a nice little brunch joint located across the street from Sandy mall on 7th. For a while, I thought this particular corner is on a downhill spiral to an inevitable death, but now I feel like they have been saved from that. After a few visits to this place, I can quite certain that their breakfast definitely near the top in the Sandy area. The place has a nice diner setup for a good o' American breakfast. They seem to have a daily off menu special here, so if you are being indecisive, go with the special. One time they had the Gyro Omelet, which was tasty, the lamb is cooked right with the egg white as requested and the veggies inside are still moist. Hash browns were cooked right. Another time I had a Pork Carnitas egg dish, which was ok, and the poached eggs did made everything a little interesting in terms of flavors. On the regular menu, I had the infamous Garbage Hash w/ Smother Chili Verde, which I threw in poached eggs to make thing even more liquidly. And the end result? Awesome. Britton is a place that would open you up to another world for Traditional American breakfast when compared to the generic diner stuff, and I doubt you can go wrong with things on menu. Service is excellent, and there is a nice little incentive for checking-in with Yelp while it lasts.

    I feel these five stars are warranted on the pancakes this place does alone. The other stuff is above average for a breakfast diner, but the pancakes are to die for. I don't even like pancakes! I am normally a waffle man, but I dare say these pancakes are better than most waffles I've eaten.

    If you love a cafe experience, you will love this place. They have excellent omletts and big delicious hamburgers. One tip though, they close at 3:00pm so don't plan on going for dinner. I would recommend going on Saturday morning for an omelette.

    Stopped by for breakfast with some customers this week and found a new favorite breakfast spot that has not been over run by brunchsters. I ordered pancakes and Bacon. Kind of a standard breakfast for me. The bacon was super and the portions were large. I could have def split the meal but I don't share bacon.

    Great local diner. This place is busy on the weekends. I get the cordon blue omelet smothered in hollandaise sauce with hash browns and a pancake. I think it is good. Super comfortable atmosphere good wait staff. My favorite diner that's not downtown. The restaurant is an honest local diner with good food that beats the heck out of any corporate chain restaurant!

    Went for a late lunch with the family. Corned beef hash, unhealthily salty. My wife had ordered it, she has high blood pressure issues and gave up after a single bite. tasted like the corned beef came out of a can. I had the Philly cheese steak omelet. So so. not great. Much prefer even though this place is down the road from my home, not going back. I'll stick to the sugarhouse breakfast joints. Too bad there isn't a decent breakfast place south of the valley.

    My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by Britton's. We're not from SLC and the location wasn't familiar to us, but the Yelp reviews convinced us to try it. I had the "divorced eggs." The sauces were good but not great, but the eggs, hash browns, and pancakes were delicious. The sausage is local and fresh and worth trying. My husband was impressed with his omelette. Coffee was strong and hot and refilled whenever it got low. We'll return if we're ever back in SLC.

    We love this place, have been eating here since it opened. The staff is always welcoming, efficient and friendly. The food never disappoints! I love their veggie burger, you can't always get those. And the onion rings are the GOOD kind, not the breadcrumb kind. That's impressive.

    My favorite place for breakfast! Eggs Benedict, chicken fried steak, pancakes, French toast, are all well done! Plus they leave a thermal pot of coffee at the table, so you get to drink it at the temp you like, and then instant refill! Home grown tomatoes when in season! Can't beat that! Plus warm, friendly, and attentive service!

    Sadly dissappointed. Wait staff yells across the restaurant, (after discovering I had hot water not coffee the waitress yelled - SHE HAD HOT WATER NOT COFFEE to someone else on the other side) and it took 3 minutes for anyone to notice us and then sat us at a wet table with menus that were literally in pieces. Food came out quickly but was poor at best. Husband ordered french toast (and was told rather rudely that he couldn't substitute toast for hash browns...that he could only get fruit or cottage cheese or grits...which was odd) and that arrived 4 min before the rest of his (and my) meal. It was thin and dry and had no seasoning. The ham with his meal was also rubbery but we didn't mention it to them. I had a waffle with strawberries. Waffle was decent, but strawberries were pure water. When I pointed it out she said "well they're frozen they just their throw them in the microwave". I've had microwaved frozen strawberries...they were better than what was served and I said my biggest issue was there was too much water and no taste. She grabbed them and walked off and we went back to eating. I also wrote this entire review to this point waiting on the check...which they just brought and apparently they decided because I returned the strawberries they would charge for the basic waffle but upcharge for the whipped cream. When I asked for that to be removed as I was never told there would be a charge for it (and the menu said it was included) the waitress came back and said "l'll take care of your bill if you never come back-I think that's fair". We were never rude or condescending, I have NO idea what prompted that response. But I agree, fair deal, we'll never be back. **In response to the owners response - I was more than happy to pay for the entire meal and had cash out when we were asked to leave - even for the whipped cream if requested! I apologize for my first impression being poor due to the menu condition - you are correct that was an assumption. But I have NEVER looked for "something for nothing" in my life - you refused us that opportunity to pay for our meal. I mentioned it to the people coming in because I was upset - and shocked. I regret this now and apologize to your customers - that was the only thing I said out of anger the entire exchange. We just moved to Utah and were excited to find a local breakfast place...to be asked to leave over a couple minor issues was understandably upsetting. Up until we were asked to leave we were planning to come back and try again! We were polite to the wait staff (and surprised to see them yell across the restaurant which is why I mentioned it...) and never got upset - I just wanted to mention something I noticed in the spirit of feedback. I meant no malice or manipulation - we spent the majority of our meal discussing our plans for the day. I order toppings on the side for my waffles because I'm attempting to control the amount of sugar I get and while I LOVE having toppings soak in I didn't realize that request would compromise the integrity of the dish - if the waitress had mentioned it I would have been more than happy to try it "house style". The toast issue was a non-issue - we were simply surprised. The request to have the whipped cream removed was because I didn't eat it due to the issue with the strawberries - the waitress took all of it back. If someone had simply said "we'd rather not remove the charge as we can't re-serve it" or something else we would have happily paid and been on our way. I only asked if anything could be done...that was in no way an attempt to dodge the bill - after all it was $1 I thought maybe it had been a mistake was all.... You said my observation about the menus pointed to the "attitude that you had when you entered the restaurant. It was clear to my wife (your server) that you were after "something for nothing" from your unfounded complaints and condesing attitude." That comment alone points to the fact that your staff gave us no opportunity to mention something we thought may be amiss. We were not trying to be condescending or rude and I don't believe we were. Your staff wrote us off as difficult over two SMALL issues that we barely thought about and weren't even enough for us to rule out becoming regulars. I also know for a fact another table near us was surprised when we were asked to leave as I was clearly shell shocked as I stood up and this woman made eye contact and mouthed "I'm sorry" as we gathered our things. I congratulate you on all your success and I genuinely wish you the best...this entire exchange truly saddens me and proves the dangers of assumptions.

    This is a great little place that meets all of the items on my internal Yelpers checklist starting with the fact that it is locally owned and operated. My wife and I and are daughter have been here several times for breakfast and while I cannot rate Britton's above the Park Cafe which is my go to breakfast spot in Salt Lake it is a very close second!! I love the family that runs the place and the food is very good, they know how to do breakfast. I love the 7th East Scramble, the Skillet Breakfast is top shelf, and the Garbage Hash is as good as you will get anywhere, if you do order the Garbage Hash try it Drenched which means that it comes covered in Country Gravy ............. you will not be disappointed!! My wife's go to menu item is the Open Faced Breakfast Sandwhich, I have not tried it myself but she really, really, enjoys it. Well Done Britton's, well done!!!!     Better than Dennys or IHOP. Ask for soft bacon and got it. Grits are good. Over easy eggs cooked right. French toast good, ask for white and not sourdough. Nothing really over the top. I would go again. Service is a bit slow, but she had a large table.

    This place was awful. Their "famous" chile verde was red tomato based. I don't know that much Spanish, but I believe verde = green. If you don't want to buy green tomatillos, then don't advertise chile verde. My wife ordered an egg sandwich that was assembled cold. The bacon and egg sandwich didn't have any bacon. It was just an egg with a cold piece of cheese. When we asked the waiter, she offered no apology. She just went and grabbed some cold bacon and dropped it on the table. We hit 20 restaurants on our road trip across the country and this was the worst.

    BRITTON'S!!! Where have I been all your life??? Stopped here for the first time today for an OUTSTANDING breakfast - thanks fellow Yelpers! I fell in love the second we walked in. The dude with the friendly smile greeted us immediately, and ended up being our server. We didn't even notice their specials board, but he provided the info anyway. Not the best coffee (otherwise, 5 stars, kids) but that was truly the only hiccup for the entire visit. And it wasn't bad coffee, just not great coffee. So, their menu covers the gamut of breakfast items, including something called Divorced Eggs. Intriguing. Not a fan of Hollandaise, otherwise I would have investigated further. At the recommendation of our awesome waiter, we opted for the Verde specials; the Omelette and the Breakfast Burrito. Sweet Mary, this may very well be the best verde I've ever eaten! Jalapenos, onions, and various other magic stewed together in an obviously happy marriage of divine spiciness! If it were legal, I'd jump in the pot and be a sister wife. Ok, honestly, I don't care if it's legal. No need to drop to one knee, even - consider it official. I'll have to practice writing it...Mrs. Chile Verde...OMG...can't wait for the honeymoon. I am the laggiest eater on the planet, and I absolutely devoured this omelette in no time. Muy delicioso! Oh yeah, it came with a pancake. But not just any pancake. I wish I'd had some warning about how good the pancakes are here, because I just may have embarrassed myself even further at the first bite. Remember When Harry Met Sally? Yeah, me too... It was a dinner plate-sized dessert-jack - a little bit crispy around the edges, and just the right amount of sweet built in. I used a small dot of syrup, but realized right away that it really didn't need it. I only had room for half of this single pancake, but I would certainly order it again. Just not with the Verde. It's a simple matter of prioritizing the stomach real estate. For a Friday morning before 11:00 a.m., Britton's was hella busy. Small and large parties, many obviously regulars, rotating through. All smiles. With the exception of the fake florals and greenery, it transported me back to a diner in Honolulu from the 80's. The decor is a dichotomy of diner kitsch and Early American, with some sports bling mixed in there, but it was relatively clean. Once the food arrived, I really wouldn't have noticed somersaulting gypsies or a screaming baby next to my head. Now, here's the proverbial chile pepper on top - it was as inexpensive as the blaahh chain breakfast joints. Breakfast done right, at a price I can get behind. My love affair with Britton's will continue. I'm looking forward to a long and delicious relationship.

    We popped in last Sunday, just deciding to try some place new. We were seated within 5 or 10 minutes and settled in with our beverages soon after. The staff was attentive and helpful. Coffee was left on the table in a carafe! This is huge people! I didn't have to bug anyone for refills. I forgot how much I've missed that from breakfast joints back east. Points to Britton's for being a little old school. Everything was hot and delicious. I got the garbage hash with a substitution and they did everything I asked. We were a little high maintenance that day, but you'd never know it, the staff was so kind to get what we requested. We'll be back. Save me a carafe.

    Promptly greeted 9/10 Promptly seated 10/10 Drinks brought promptly 4/10, almost had to ask again. 1 Soda brought and then another long wait for a coffee. Noise level 8/10, enough sound breaks and dining hall spread out. Easy enough to chat. Pancakes 2/10, they honestly sucked. Small, basic white batter pancakes with no flavor, what a joke for a dinner. Then I had to ask for butter and syrup, no big deal it happens but I get brought a tiny plastic cup of butter and syrup, literally the size of a NyQuil cap. Barely enough to cover two of my pancakes. Gravy 9/10 it was amazing, it had flavor and wasn't just a bland goo relying on add ins to trick you. Then the add ins were plenty and flavorful, well done! Bathroom 8/10, nothing to bad to mention. A bit unkept but what can you do. Price 4/10, was expensive and ridiculous for the quality of food, the portions, and service . I'll give this place another go based solely on the gravy, ill likely get biscuits and gravy. Nothing else wowed me and the price was ridiculous. For that price I'll drive to blue plate diner in sugar house and still come out cheaper even after gas to get there. Don't want to go to sugar house, go to black bear dinner in sandy, I don't like chain restaurants usually over local, but they have amazing pancakes, good food and the same price

    Sooo good - the garbage hash was amazing, served with 2 eggs AND a huge pancake!! I'll be full all day! Milk shakes were a little thin, service was initially a bit slow but once we got our waitress she was excellent. Sadly we're from out of town, otherwise we'd definitely be coming back!!!

    Good food, bad flies! This place is really, really good! You've gotta try the Dirty Love burger. Ridiculous! The chips (battered home fries basically) are great. My wife had the Cordon Bleu omelette and it was good. Prices are good. Flies are bad. We asked the waitress if they could do something about the flies and she told us to open a bottle of hot sauce... How about some fly strips? I'd rather see those then having to wave flies off of our food.

    This is the only restaurant I have ever been to where I knew that no matter what I ordered, I would not like the food. The service was great, and the staff very friendly.     I've been here once before a long time ago, and was super impressed with the burger and fries I got, but for some reason I haven't been back until now. I was lured in by the many glowing yelp reviews to actually try breakfast this time! So far so good, I've been sat and placed my order. The place has a nice old time diner feel to it and they have also decorated quite nicely for Christmas. (which reminds me I still haven't gotten any shopping done) It's clear from the waitresses interactions that there are many regulars here and many of them are even talking back and forth to each other, I can never get enough of that, especially at diners! Just make you feel at home, and also speaks volumes to the food.

    I have a date with destiny at Britton's. A date with a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches for a bun. I've once demolished a burger like this (see my profile pictures for proof) and I intend to do it at Britton's as well. This review isn't about the burger, though. It's about breakfast. I stopped in last Saturday to get my morning meal on, and found the place a-hopping with mid-morning revelers digging on the basic breakfast dishes. After looking over the menu, I was convinced I at least needed to try the pancakes, but was in more of a protein mood. I toyed with the idea of the 5 by 2 (or was it 2 x 5?) which included 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 strips of Bacon, 2 pieces of ham, and 2 Pancakes and comes with hash browns for around 8-9 bucks.. I also looked at the garbage hash, but in the end went with a simple pork chops and eggs. A dining companion did have the hash, and it was a nice looking mound of breakfastness which did taste pretty good. My pork chops were simple, boneless chops fried up in the skillet with some scrambled eggs. I was happy enough; it was a simple breakfast I desired and that's what I got. I also got to see the carnitas special, and try a little of the chili verde on the hash, so I can vouch that the menu does get a little more daring than fried chops. It's the simplicity, though, that makes a place like Britton's stand out. I was right to follow my instincts to the pancake. This puppy was just a tad crisp on the outside, but huge and fluffy. No floppy little flapjacks here! If I'm still hungry after my burger challenge I'm heading right for the pancakes. The restaurant is located in the unique Union Square development on the southwest corner of 9400 S. and 700 East. There's plenty of parking, though on a Saturday morning you may not get the prime spot. The decor is also simple and diner-y, and the booths and tables nothing fancy. Britton's isn't a throwback to diners. It just is a diner. A simple but satisfactory place to get a plate of food when you're hungry. Or in my case the next time I'm there - when you're famished and fixin' for a fight with a big old burger.

    This place has an older style to it but very cozy inside. I went in a large group, 12 people, and they were able to accommodate us. They have great service cuz we were a large group and our waitress didn't disappoint. She kept up with all our requests. We had never eaten at Britton's so we asked what's good. The waitress recommended the garbage hash and said it's the most popular item on the menu. So of course I had to try it. It could feed 2 people, it's so much food. It's hash browns with bacon, ham, green peppers, onions, and 2 eggs of your choice on top. It also comes with a side of toast or a pancake. I got the pancake. The hash was so dang good. I got my eggs over medium and the yolk running over the hash made it even better! Good hearty flavor. The pancake was soo fluffy and thick. It was cooked perfect, not too doughy. Everything tasted so good. My friends loved this place too. One of them is from bountiful and he said his is his new favorite breakfast place and will be coming here more often, even tho it's a drive. They give you a lot for the cost of the meal, $9, and it's so tasty.

    It's like the Black Bear Diner only less expensive. It's like Jim's Diner only not as old. It's like a local version of Denny's or Village Inn with so much more soul. It's obviously a beloved destination for scads (a bunch) of regulars. I did take-out once and frequently eat their catered breakfasts. Comfort food. Consistent. Reasonably priced. God bless them for making it as a business in this economy.

    We were looking for a good breakfast on a Sunday morning when we had some family in from out of town and decided to trust Yelp and give Britton's a try. This is my kind of joint. Nearly half the people that walked in were greeted by name. The wait staff was on top of things and our food came out on time. We have a variety of things ordered from the menu at our table, breakfast sandwich, french toast, the garbage hash, and an omelet. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. One review mentioned the fact that the chili verde is not a green sauce and is tomato based. We asked the waitress, who was of Latin decent, and she said its the best chili verde she has ever had. The person in our party that got the garbage hash her her serve it on the side so he'd be safe. He loved it. Color matters little as long as the flavor is good. I will be back for sure. The price was right and the food was right what you'd want from a diner like this.

Cheese quesadilla for the baby. everything decently priced and it was fast even though almost every table was occupied. I will be dropping back by, just moved very close by and I'm impressed.

    We love Brittons. I try to get my fix of the fantastic burger and fries and English chips every Sunday . But I sadly run out of time seems like before they close at 3pm. They are always happy to serve me when I call my order in at 2:45 unlike a lot of places that are irritated if you order right before they close . Thank you for being great comfort food for us.

    Tried this place for the first time today. Nice little diner. I had the garlic burger, homemade half pound burger patty with plenty of garlic. Hot fresh French fries. The burger was great! My wife had the sourdough burger, which was huge. Sautéed mushrooms, bacon, lettuce, tomato and sweet pickles. Another great burger! We will definitely be back.

    Holy cheap!! We had dinner for two, with an appetizer and two desserts and we still weren't able to use our entire $30 gift certificate! Okay... this is NOT fine dining. Britton's is not to be compared to Ruth's Chris, Fleming's or even Chili's. If you're thinking Denny's, Dee's, Village Inn or IHOP, then you're on the right track. This is a diner. They serve breakfast all day. Britton's keeps it simple; and what they do, they do well. I had the halibut and chips. Although it was clearly frozen, it was still high quality, pure white fish with no byproducts or other assorted ickiness that is often found in this type of fish. The French dip and au jus were good, not great. The jalapeno poppers were excellent, although I didn't care for the jelly-based dipping sauce. The chocolate cream pie was okay and the cinammon roll was excellent. All-in-all, this place is hands-down better than the "chain" stores that do the same type of food, service and atmosphere. If you want to take the kids somewhere they'll LOVE and you don't want to spend much money, this place will definitely do the trick.

    If there was negative stars I'd give it a negative rating. Don't go. Food is decent... Service HORRIBLE!!! Absolute worse. My table was seated then ignored for 20 minutes. We tried waving someone down several times and were ignored. Finally we got up to leave and we were spotted and then half heartedly apologized. This was in spring.... Haven't been back. Will never go back.

    This is a mediocre family diner. The staff is excellent and it's a local owned restaurant so I really wanted to love it, but the food was just so-so, and the coffee was really weak. This is a Denny's caliber meal, and if that's all you're looking for, definitely support these local folks first.

    I'd give it two and a half stars if I could. I couldn't wait to eat here after seeing all the glowing reviews on Yelp, but to be honest, I wasn't very impressed. I went for breakfast, and maybe it was just what I ordered (the chicken fried steak), but I've definitely had better. My sister had the breakfast burrito, and she says it was very good. I'll probably give it another shot, but only because it's close to where I live.

    We saw Britton's from the side of the road and decided to try it out. We just made it in before they closed at 2:30pm on a Saturday. Once in though we were taken by the great atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered the "Hog" burger on the waitresses recommendation. It was amazing. Let me summarize the burger. Grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. Literally. And it tasted amazing! We split the burger and had plenty of food left over by the end. I'm excited to go back and try the breakfast. This is a great local restaurant with some good food and great service. I'm a fan.

    Came for brunch on a Saturday around 10ish and was seated quickly in a booth (I love booths!) . Our server was very attentive, we got our food quickly, and I thought the prices were fair. I tried the garbage hash which was ok-I thought it was a little heavy on the hashbrowns and while it was good, it didn't really have amazing flavor. I LOVED the pancake it came with-next time I would probably just get a stack of pancakes.

    Finally found a local breakfast place that I like! I've been tired of going down to Mimi's for breakfast and the Black Bear in Sandy has been disappointing. Britton's is a small diner with great service and great diner style food. I had a coffee, vege omelet with crispy hash browns, and a pancake instead of toast. The hash browns were great, and there is still an extra level of 'crispiness' you can order (be prepared to wait 20 minutes). The real standout was the pancake - this was one of the best that I've had recently - crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Don't expect this to be a low calorie meal...

    I really like that they offer extra crispy hash browns- my favorite! Worth the extra potential 20 min wait and extra charge-however, ordered them several times before but actually only got them once- I think. I'll probably save myself the extra buck next time and not order them as its a crap shoot if you actually get them this way. Or, if you get the blonde server, she will argue with you wether they are or aren't crispy. Garbage hash drenched and gooey is the way to go!!

    Wow! I walked into brittons with the attitude of trying to find something wrong. The very worst I could find was waterstains on the silverware. The service was phenomenal. The waitress had a great attitude and was to the point. The restaurant was clean and the noise level was perfect. The food was extremely delicious.     Looking for the 60s vibe diner? Look no further, you gotta go to Brittons! This place reps the U and has got the freshest and healthiest tasting French Toast. We ordered Eggs Benedict which isn't your standard. It feels like it came out of the 60s. We tried both their chocolate oreo shake and their vanilla oreo shake. Love the chocolate oreo! I had my dobuts, but I prefer the chocolate oreo over the vanilla. For my first restaurant in Utah, I'm very impressed!

    I absolutely love this place! The shakes are ridiculously good (especially the chocolate banana). I only just recently moved here and have eaten there twice. The pancakes are also amazing. They're a little crispy and very flavorful. Go to Britton's and eat breakfast...if only they were open past 3pm.

    I read about the Hog Burger in other reviews and I had to have one. It was everything I could have hoped for. On top of that the service was excellent.     We all had burgers for lunch, and they were excellent. I had the pastrami burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Milkshake and fries were good too. Big portions and very reasonable prices. However, the service was bad. We stood in the entrance for almost 5 mins without being greeted, and several waitstaff walked right by us without acknowledging us. Once we sat down, our waitress was inattentive, and we had to wait and ask for drink refills etc. We will definitely come back and hope for better service.

    Always enjoy my time being here. Most of the time I would order their pancakes and wallfle, but this time I decided to get something different. So hog burger and Louisiana Heart Attack have kick my sweet friends' butt off. I love grilled cheese, and I love burger. Hog burger is the combination of these two. How could someone be so smart and came up with this brilliant idea! Louisiana Heart Attack has made me think of Chinese food, but presented in the American way. I didn't expect the English chips, which by the way is the side, would look like this. It tasted like fried fish, so crispy on the outside but tender inside. I would definitely order this again next time.

    Basic, standard run-of-the-mill greasy spoon diner. Décor needs some work, but I understand they're soon to go through a remodel. Hopefully, they will either anchor the tables to an appropriate distance from the seats or throw them out and get some others in that will be an appropriate distance from the seats. There is little more annoying than having to deal with that in a restaurant. Service was pretty decent overall, though. While it seems like a moderately European-themed place, there are oddly-named things on the menu, such as the ones under the "Redneck" tag. Flair, I guess. There is also more personality injected into various other dishes, only some of which is descriptive. All those things create a very odd sort of ambiance, so it comes down to the food, which came out to the table at an ungodly pace perhaps best described as glacial, well past unreasonably slow. The English chips were pretty decent, but about par for the course at other places I've had them also. I'm guessing these are from the same frozen purveyor. The pancake tower was about as advertised. Both bacon and sausage were cooked to my liking, as was the over-medium eggs, which were actually correct for once. The pancakes were a bit bland and that applies also to the bacon and sausage. Iced tea was sort of a throwaway but drinkable...just barely. When all was said and done, there was nothing particularly special or memorable about this place, just a pretty solid, albeit agonizingly delayed, Americana greasy spoon diner. I'd consider it again if I was in the area, in the mood for breakfast and had tried nearly everything else of interest around it...

    We have been desperately searching for a good breakfast place in the Sandy / Draper / South Jordan area, but have been having a hard go at it. I remember going to Brittons several years ago and not being very impressed. To be fair though, I was experiencing relationship issues with the ex at the time, and so I think my experience might have been a bit... Compromised. Hoping to exercise the ghosts of the past, Blue and I headed to this unassuming joint for a later breakfast. The service was super friendly and helpful, and I get the feeling that a good bulk of their patrons are solid regulars. There are no bells or whistles to this place, and no pretense. They are what they are and proud of it. The food is your classic greasy spoon, and you won't leave hungry. I believe what I ordered was the garbage hash... Or something like that... Essentially it was everything on the breakfast menu piled atop a mountain of hash browns. I also opted to have it smothered... As God intended. Good food, reasonable price, friendly service, and no pretense... I think we might have found our new favorite breakfast place.

    Today I decided to place a to-go order for breakfast. Never been to this place and noticed it was rather busy on weekends. Ordered a 3 egg Southwest omelet and eggs Benedict. They said it would take 10 minutes, I ended up being 20 minutes late and the food wasn't even ready. Once they got it all packaged up I was on my way 15 minutes later. The omelet was pretty good, the avocado was fresh and ripe. The salsa was really tasty almost too good as it was so full of flavor. The eggs Benedict had burned ham, soggy muffins and wasn't that great. Now on to the bad part, 2 hours after eating I got a massive headache, my frontal lobe was tightening up. That normally happens when I go to a low quality Chinese place that loads their food full of MSG. Called to speak to the manager and they said they weren't available and I left my name and number. Still have yet to hear back and don't want to be passive aggressive with this. I have a hunch that they use MSG heavily and wanted to confirm with them just to be sure.

It wasn't ideal and we knew it'd be busy, but we took it to get a table faster. We ordered the Garbage Pile, smothered with country gravy. At almost $11, it's not a cheap breakfast. But we knew it would be big so we just ordered one. Glad we did, it was plenty for two. The meal was delicious! Might be the best diner breakfast I've ever had. It came with a nice big fluffy pancake. The service was good, especially for how busy they were. The place was quite loud, especially where we were sitting. But it's a happy loud; everyday folk having good food together. There were two (I think) TVs mounted in corners tuned to sports games. They have two large round tables that could accommodate 6-8 people and they had pushed together a couple of tables for a group of 8-10. There is some outdoor seating, but it's right next to a fairly busy street. We live 40 minutes south of Britton's but we'll be coming back for sure.

    Well, think I've found my new favorite breakfast joint in the area. This place is only open until 3pm and serves breakfast and lunch. We went during breakfast hours and we sure enjoyed it. Went with a large group (about 12 ppl) and they were very accommodating. The food was pretty dang good. Lots of variety on the menu. Sooo many options for breakfast. I got the garbage hash which consisted of a very large serving of: hash browns, diced ham, bacon, mushrooms, diced green bell pepper (nice flavor touch), cheese and topped with 2 eggs cooked however you want. You can also top it off with extras like chile verde, gravy and/or extra cheese. I got it as is and loved it. I think I'll try adding the chile verde next time though ;) The service was fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy. The location is adorable-it's in a cute little shopping plaza with a few good shops. We went exploring after. Happy to say I really enjoyed my dining experience here.

    This is our neighborhood go to breakfast spot. The red neck wrap is my favorite. Anything with chile verde is good too. The interior is basic diner. Comfortable and a little kitschy. Service is friendly and attentive. Happy they are open Sundays.

    I feel like this is a good home grown diner. The employees are super nice and the food is good. I ordered the French toast combo with two eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon (3 strips). First of all the bacon is delicious! It is thick, cooked perfectly and I wish I had ordered a plate of bacon. I asked for the hashbrowns to be cooked well done, which means they were cooked to crunch perfection. They were a little under seasoned though, but adding salt isn't hard. The French toast was thick and was battered in a cinnamon, sweet, egg mixture. I really like that there are tons of choices on the menu and I'll be back to try something new next time.

    Oh sweet sweet baby Jesus, Britton's is where it's at. I've only tried one item from the menu, but it was almost enough to make me give up atheism. I don't use that expression lightly, either. I ordered a veggie burger, and had them replace the buns with two grilled cheeses. In these GC's, they put avocado and jalapeno peppers. The veggie patty was perfect, and the GC's were grilled to perfection. I ended up having to take off the jalapenos (I'm a wimp when it come to spice), and the sandwich was still amazing. I wish they were opened a little bit later, but beggars can't be choosers.

    Busy & friendly, sometimes service can be slow, but definitely not today (Valentines Day). Food came out quickly, and our waiter is friendly and efficient. Short wait today, although it's very busy. Try the Garbage Hash or the Two by Five...delicious. Oh, and they always have green Tabasco available!

    Great for brunch, we enjoyed this tucked away place. Apparently the manager/owner was on a tirade the morning we came, which made the people waiting for us uncomfortable, but we didn't experience it, so won't affect my review. Good, inexpensive brunch. Will be back and do recommend.

    Located in the old Godfather's Pizza restaurant, Britton's serves up diner-style food in this convenient Sandy location. With breakfast served all day and plenty of lunch options too, there are lots of good choices on the menu. We ate at Britton's for Sunday breakfast yesterday and really enjoyed it. My breakfast sandwich was well prepared and tasted great. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito with chili verde, which was also very good. The burrito wasn't very spicy but the chili verde had a great flavor. Service was snappy and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend Britton's and will be going back myself.

    Worst breakfast I've had in a very long time. The husband and I are always looking for new places to try for breakfast/brunch and while driving we spotted this restaurant. I got the corned beef and hash and my whole experience was terrible. When my food was brought out it looked like a plate of cat food with burnt toast. The taste was absolutely repulsive. After that experience we decided to give the restaurant another try. Second time was worse than the first. I will never go back.

    I'm giving this place a four because of the service. Every single time I have come here for breakfast, employees make you feel like you are at home. The breakfast ain't that bad either. Its cheap, good, and filling (usually good enough for 2 people). Its a classic diner in Utah that I frequent often after a test or a long week. Keep up the good work guys.

    This place, to quote my breakfast-loving friend is, "going on the regular breakfast rotation!" Thanks again my fellow Yelpers! Your expert advice led three of us to this little gem. It's very much a "hometown" place, looked clean and we were immediately seated. I had the chili verde omelette, which, for not the first time in my chili-verde-loving-history, was a red (?) sauce. Can anyone explain? Color be damned, it was AWESOME! It had big chunks of onion, tomatoes (Ewww) that were big enough to pick out and slide onto someone else's plate, plenty of meat and jalapeños. It came with perfect hash browns (I'm part Irish so I feel especially qualified to judge), and choice of toast or pancake. I went for the pancake and it was as good as the omelette! The syrup was thick and almost like caramel. I usually don't like pancakes at restaurants other than Left Fork Grill, but this one was perfect. The waitresses were very attentive and quickly refilled coffee cups. My breakfast-addicted friend loved her bacon, eggs and hash browns, the third member went for toast and eggs and everyone left full and planning to return.

    This is a nice little brunch joint located across the street from Sandy mall on 7th. For a while, I thought this particular corner is on a downhill spiral to an inevitable death, but now I feel like they have been saved from that. After a few visits to this place, I can quite certain that their breakfast definitely near the top in the Sandy area. The place has a nice diner setup for a good o' American breakfast. They seem to have a daily off menu special here, so if you are being indecisive, go with the special. One time they had the Gyro Omelet, which was tasty, the lamb is cooked right with the egg white as requested and the veggies inside are still moist. Hash browns were cooked right. Another time I had a Pork Carnitas egg dish, which was ok, and the poached eggs did made everything a little interesting in terms of flavors. On the regular menu, I had the infamous Garbage Hash w/ Smother Chili Verde, which I threw in poached eggs to make thing even more liquidly. And the end result? Awesome. Britton is a place that would open you up to another world for Traditional American breakfast when compared to the generic diner stuff, and I doubt you can go wrong with things on menu. Service is excellent, and there is a nice little incentive for checking-in with Yelp while it lasts.

    If you love a cafe experience, you will love this place. They have excellent omletts and big delicious hamburgers. One tip though, they close at 3:00pm so don't plan on going for dinner. I would recommend going on Saturday morning for an omelette.

    Stopped by for breakfast with some customers this week and found a new favorite breakfast spot that has not been over run by brunchsters. I ordered pancakes and Bacon. Kind of a standard breakfast for me. The bacon was super and the portions were large. I could have def split the meal but I don't share bacon.

    Great local diner. This place is busy on the weekends. I get the cordon blue omelet smothered in hollandaise sauce with hash browns and a pancake. I think it is good. Super comfortable atmosphere good wait staff. My favorite diner that's not downtown. The restaurant is an honest local diner with good food that beats the heck out of any corporate chain restaurant!

    Sadly dissappointed. Wait staff yells across the restaurant, (after discovering I had hot water not coffee the waitress yelled - SHE HAD HOT WATER NOT COFFEE to someone else on the other side) and it took 3 minutes for anyone to notice us and then sat us at a wet table with menus that were literally in pieces. Food came out quickly but was poor at best. Husband ordered french toast (and was told rather rudely that he couldn't substitute toast for hash browns...that he could only get fruit or cottage cheese or grits...which was odd) and that arrived 4 min before the rest of his (and my) meal. It was thin and dry and had no seasoning. The ham with his meal was also rubbery but we didn't mention it to them. I had a waffle with strawberries. Waffle was decent, but strawberries were pure water. When I pointed it out she said "well they're frozen they just their throw them in the microwave". I've had microwaved frozen strawberries...they were better than what was served and I said my biggest issue was there was too much water and no taste. She grabbed them and walked off and we went back to eating. I also wrote this entire review to this point waiting on the check...which they just brought and apparently they decided because I returned the strawberries they would charge for the basic waffle but upcharge for the whipped cream. When I asked for that to be removed as I was never told there would be a charge for it (and the menu said it was included) the waitress came back and said "l'll take care of your bill if you never come back-I think that's fair". We were never rude or condescending, I have NO idea what prompted that response. But I agree, fair deal, we'll never be back. **In response to the owners response - I was more than happy to pay for the entire meal and had cash out when we were asked to leave - even for the whipped cream if requested! I apologize for my first impression being poor due to the menu condition - you are correct that was an assumption. But I have NEVER looked for "something for nothing" in my life - you refused us that opportunity to pay for our meal. I mentioned it to the people coming in because I was upset - and shocked. I regret this now and apologize to your customers - that was the only thing I said out of anger the entire exchange. We just moved to Utah and were excited to find a local breakfast place...to be asked to leave over a couple minor issues was understandably upsetting. Up until we were asked to leave we were planning to come back and try again! We were polite to the wait staff (and surprised to see them yell across the restaurant which is why I mentioned it...) and never got upset - I just wanted to mention something I noticed in the spirit of feedback. I meant no malice or manipulation - we spent the majority of our meal discussing our plans for the day. I order toppings on the side for my waffles because I'm attempting to control the amount of sugar I get and while I LOVE having toppings soak in I didn't realize that request would compromise the integrity of the dish - if the waitress had mentioned it I would have been more than happy to try it "house style". The toast issue was a non-issue - we were simply surprised. The request to have the whipped cream removed was because I didn't eat it due to the issue with the strawberries - the waitress took all of it back. If someone had simply said "we'd rather not remove the charge as we can't re-serve it" or something else we would have happily paid and been on our way. I only asked if anything could be done...that was in no way an attempt to dodge the bill - after all it was $1 I thought maybe it had been a mistake was all.... You said my observation about the menus pointed to the "attitude that you had when you entered the restaurant. It was clear to my wife (your server) that you were after "something for nothing" from your unfounded complaints and condesing attitude." That comment alone points to the fact that your staff gave us no opportunity to mention something we thought may be amiss. We were not trying to be condescending or rude and I don't believe we were. Your staff wrote us off as difficult over two SMALL issues that we barely thought about and weren't even enough for us to rule out becoming regulars. I also know for a fact another table near us was surprised when we were asked to leave as I was clearly shell shocked as I stood up and this woman made eye contact and mouthed "I'm sorry" as we gathered our things. I congratulate you on all your success and I genuinely wish you the best...this entire exchange truly saddens me and proves the dangers of assumptions.

    This is a great little place that meets all of the items on my internal Yelpers checklist starting with the fact that it is locally owned and operated. My wife and I and are daughter have been here several times for breakfast and while I cannot rate Britton's above the Park Cafe which is my go to breakfast spot in Salt Lake it is a very close second!! I love the family that runs the place and the food is very good, they know how to do breakfast. I love the 7th East Scramble, the Skillet Breakfast is top shelf, and the Garbage Hash is as good as you will get anywhere, if you do order the Garbage Hash try it Drenched which means that it comes covered in Country Gravy ............. you will not be disappointed!! My wife's go to menu item is the Open Faced Breakfast Sandwhich, I have not tried it myself but she really, really, enjoys it. Well Done Britton's, well done!!!!     Better than Dennys or IHOP. Ask for soft bacon and got it. Grits are good. Over easy eggs cooked right. French toast good, ask for white and not sourdough. Nothing really over the top. I would go again. Service is a bit slow, but she had a large table.

    This place was awful. Their "famous" chile verde was red tomato based. I don't know that much Spanish, but I believe verde = green. If you don't want to buy green tomatillos, then don't advertise chile verde. My wife ordered an egg sandwich that was assembled cold. The bacon and egg sandwich didn't have any bacon. It was just an egg with a cold piece of cheese. When we asked the waiter, she offered no apology. She just went and grabbed some cold bacon and dropped it on the table. We hit 20 restaurants on our road trip across the country and this was the worst.

    BRITTON'S!!! Where have I been all your life??? Stopped here for the first time today for an OUTSTANDING breakfast - thanks fellow Yelpers! I fell in love the second we walked in. The dude with the friendly smile greeted us immediately, and ended up being our server. We didn't even notice their specials board, but he provided the info anyway. Not the best coffee (otherwise, 5 stars, kids) but that was truly the only hiccup for the entire visit. And it wasn't bad coffee, just not great coffee. So, their menu covers the gamut of breakfast items, including something called Divorced Eggs. Intriguing. Not a fan of Hollandaise, otherwise I would have investigated further. At the recommendation of our awesome waiter, we opted for the Verde specials; the Omelette and the Breakfast Burrito. Sweet Mary, this may very well be the best verde I've ever eaten! Jalapenos, onions, and various other magic stewed together in an obviously happy marriage of divine spiciness! If it were legal, I'd jump in the pot and be a sister wife. Ok, honestly, I don't care if it's legal. No need to drop to one knee, even - consider it official. I'll have to practice writing it...Mrs. Chile Verde...OMG...can't wait for the honeymoon. I am the laggiest eater on the planet, and I absolutely devoured this omelette in no time. Muy delicioso! Oh yeah, it came with a pancake. But not just any pancake. I wish I'd had some warning about how good the pancakes are here, because I just may have embarrassed myself even further at the first bite. Remember When Harry Met Sally? Yeah, me too... It was a dinner plate-sized dessert-jack - a little bit crispy around the edges, and just the right amount of sweet built in. I used a small dot of syrup, but realized right away that it really didn't need it. I only had room for half of this single pancake, but I would certainly order it again. Just not with the Verde. It's a simple matter of prioritizing the stomach real estate. For a Friday morning before 11:00 a.m., Britton's was hella busy. Small and large parties, many obviously regulars, rotating through. All smiles. With the exception of the fake florals and greenery, it transported me back to a diner in Honolulu from the 80's. The decor is a dichotomy of diner kitsch and Early American, with some sports bling mixed in there, but it was relatively clean. Once the food arrived, I really wouldn't have noticed somersaulting gypsies or a screaming baby next to my head. Now, here's the proverbial chile pepper on top - it was as inexpensive as the blaahh chain breakfast joints. Breakfast done right, at a price I can get behind. My love affair with Britton's will continue. I'm looking forward to a long and delicious relationship.

    We popped in last Sunday, just deciding to try some place new. We were seated within 5 or 10 minutes and settled in with our beverages soon after. The staff was attentive and helpful. Coffee was left on the table in a carafe! This is huge people! I didn't have to bug anyone for refills. I forgot how much I've missed that from breakfast joints back east. Points to Britton's for being a little old school. Everything was hot and delicious. I got the garbage hash with a substitution and they did everything I asked. We were a little high maintenance that day, but you'd never know it, the staff was so kind to get what we requested. We'll be back. Save me a carafe.

    Promptly greeted 9/10 Promptly seated 10/10 Drinks brought promptly 4/10, almost had to ask again. 1 Soda brought and then another long wait for a coffee. Noise level 8/10, enough sound breaks and dining hall spread out. Easy enough to chat. Pancakes 2/10, they honestly sucked. Small, basic white batter pancakes with no flavor, what a joke for a dinner. Then I had to ask for butter and syrup, no big deal it happens but I get brought a tiny plastic cup of butter and syrup, literally the size of a NyQuil cap. Barely enough to cover two of my pancakes. Gravy 9/10 it was amazing, it had flavor and wasn't just a bland goo relying on add ins to trick you. Then the add ins were plenty and flavorful, well done! Bathroom 8/10, nothing to bad to mention. A bit unkept but what can you do. Price 4/10, was expensive and ridiculous for the quality of food, the portions, and service . I'll give this place another go based solely on the gravy, ill likely get biscuits and gravy. Nothing else wowed me and the price was ridiculous. For that price I'll drive to blue plate diner in sugar house and still come out cheaper even after gas to get there. Don't want to go to sugar house, go to black bear dinner in sandy, I don't like chain restaurants usually over local, but they have amazing pancakes, good food and the same price

    Sooo good - the garbage hash was amazing, served with 2 eggs AND a huge pancake!! I'll be full all day! Milk shakes were a little thin, service was initially a bit slow but once we got our waitress she was excellent. Sadly we're from out of town, otherwise we'd definitely be coming back!!!

    Good food, bad flies! This place is really, really good! You've gotta try the Dirty Love burger. Ridiculous! The chips (battered home fries basically) are great. My wife had the Cordon Bleu omelette and it was good. Prices are good. Flies are bad. We asked the waitress if they could do something about the flies and she told us to open a bottle of hot sauce... How about some fly strips? I'd rather see those then having to wave flies off of our food.

    I've been here once before a long time ago, and was super impressed with the burger and fries I got, but for some reason I haven't been back until now. I was lured in by the many glowing yelp reviews to actually try breakfast this time! So far so good, I've been sat and placed my order. The place has a nice old time diner feel to it and they have also decorated quite nicely for Christmas. (which reminds me I still haven't gotten any shopping done) It's clear from the waitresses interactions that there are many regulars here and many of them are even talking back and forth to each other, I can never get enough of that, especially at diners! Just make you feel at home, and also speaks volumes to the food.

    I have a date with destiny at Britton's. A date with a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches for a bun. I've once demolished a burger like this (see my profile pictures for proof) and I intend to do it at Britton's as well. This review isn't about the burger, though. It's about breakfast. I stopped in last Saturday to get my morning meal on, and found the place a-hopping with mid-morning revelers digging on the basic breakfast dishes. After looking over the menu, I was convinced I at least needed to try the pancakes, but was in more of a protein mood. I toyed with the idea of the 5 by 2 (or was it 2 x 5?) which included 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 strips of Bacon, 2 pieces of ham, and 2 Pancakes and comes with hash browns for around 8-9 bucks.. I also looked at the garbage hash, but in the end went with a simple pork chops and eggs. A dining companion did have the hash, and it was a nice looking mound of breakfastness which did taste pretty good. My pork chops were simple, boneless chops fried up in the skillet with some scrambled eggs. I was happy enough; it was a simple breakfast I desired and that's what I got. I also got to see the carnitas special, and try a little of the chili verde on the hash, so I can vouch that the menu does get a little more daring than fried chops. It's the simplicity, though, that makes a place like Britton's stand out. I was right to follow my instincts to the pancake. This puppy was just a tad crisp on the outside, but huge and fluffy. No floppy little flapjacks here! If I'm still hungry after my burger challenge I'm heading right for the pancakes. The restaurant is located in the unique Union Square development on the southwest corner of 9400 S. and 700 East. There's plenty of parking, though on a Saturday morning you may not get the prime spot. The decor is also simple and diner-y, and the booths and tables nothing fancy. Britton's isn't a throwback to diners. It just is a diner. A simple but satisfactory place to get a plate of food when you're hungry. Or in my case the next time I'm there - when you're famished and fixin' for a fight with a big old burger.

    This place has an older style to it but very cozy inside. I went in a large group, 12 people, and they were able to accommodate us. They have great service cuz we were a large group and our waitress didn't disappoint. She kept up with all our requests. We had never eaten at Britton's so we asked what's good. The waitress recommended the garbage hash and said it's the most popular item on the menu. So of course I had to try it. It could feed 2 people, it's so much food. It's hash browns with bacon, ham, green peppers, onions, and 2 eggs of your choice on top. It also comes with a side of toast or a pancake. I got the pancake. The hash was so dang good. I got my eggs over medium and the yolk running over the hash made it even better! Good hearty flavor. The pancake was soo fluffy and thick. It was cooked perfect, not too doughy. Everything tasted so good. My friends loved this place too. One of them is from bountiful and he said his is his new favorite breakfast place and will be coming here more often, even tho it's a drive. They give you a lot for the cost of the meal, $9, and it's so tasty.

    It's like the Black Bear Diner only less expensive. It's like Jim's Diner only not as old. It's like a local version of Denny's or Village Inn with so much more soul. It's obviously a beloved destination for scads (a bunch) of regulars. I did take-out once and frequently eat their catered breakfasts. Comfort food. Consistent. Reasonably priced. God bless them for making it as a business in this economy.

    We were looking for a good breakfast on a Sunday morning when we had some family in from out of town and decided to trust Yelp and give Britton's a try. This is my kind of joint. Nearly half the people that walked in were greeted by name. The wait staff was on top of things and our food came out on time. We have a variety of things ordered from the menu at our table, breakfast sandwich, french toast, the garbage hash, and an omelet. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. One review mentioned the fact that the chili verde is not a green sauce and is tomato based. We asked the waitress, who was of Latin decent, and she said its the best chili verde she has ever had. The person in our party that got the garbage hash her her serve it on the side so he'd be safe. He loved it. Color matters little as long as the flavor is good. I will be back for sure. The price was right and the food was right what you'd want from a diner like this.

    Really awesome value. The Southwest omelette with jalapeno, tomato, olive, beans, cheese and avocado, sour cream was way above expectation. Cheese quesadilla for the baby. everything decently priced and it was fast even though almost every table was occupied. I will be dropping back by, just moved very close by and I'm impressed.

    We love Brittons. I try to get my fix of the fantastic burger and fries and English chips every Sunday . But I sadly run out of time seems like before they close at 3pm. They are always happy to serve me when I call my order in at 2:45 unlike a lot of places that are irritated if you order right before they close . Thank you for being great comfort food for us.

    Tried this place for the first time today. Nice little diner. I had the garlic burger, homemade half pound burger patty with plenty of garlic. Hot fresh French fries. The burger was great! My wife had the sourdough burger, which was huge. Sautéed mushrooms, bacon, lettuce, tomato and sweet pickles. Another great burger! We will definitely be back.

    Holy cheap!! We had dinner for two, with an appetizer and two desserts and we still weren't able to use our entire $30 gift certificate! Okay... this is NOT fine dining. Britton's is not to be compared to Ruth's Chris, Fleming's or even Chili's. If you're thinking Denny's, Dee's, Village Inn or IHOP, then you're on the right track. This is a diner. They serve breakfast all day. Britton's keeps it simple; and what they do, they do well. I had the halibut and chips. Although it was clearly frozen, it was still high quality, pure white fish with no byproducts or other assorted ickiness that is often found in this type of fish. The French dip and au jus were good, not great. The jalapeno poppers were excellent, although I didn't care for the jelly-based dipping sauce. The chocolate cream pie was okay and the cinammon roll was excellent. All-in-all, this place is hands-down better than the "chain" stores that do the same type of food, service and atmosphere. If you want to take the kids somewhere they'll LOVE and you don't want to spend much money, this place will definitely do the trick.

    If there was negative stars I'd give it a negative rating. Don't go. Food is decent... Service HORRIBLE!!! Absolute worse. My table was seated then ignored for 20 minutes. We tried waving someone down several times and were ignored. Finally we got up to leave and we were spotted and then half heartedly apologized. This was in spring.... Haven't been back. Will never go back.

    This is a mediocre family diner. The staff is excellent and it's a local owned restaurant so I really wanted to love it, but the food was just so-so, and the coffee was really weak. This is a Denny's caliber meal, and if that's all you're looking for, definitely support these local folks first.

    I'd give it two and a half stars if I could. I couldn't wait to eat here after seeing all the glowing reviews on Yelp, but to be honest, I wasn't very impressed. I went for breakfast, and maybe it was just what I ordered (the chicken fried steak), but I've definitely had better. My sister had the breakfast burrito, and she says it was very good. I'll probably give it another shot, but only because it's close to where I live.

    Seriously, 4 stars as an average. Not even close. Nice servers and a decent little place but the food is way below par. The sausage is cheap brown n serve crap, the biscuits are frozen and not made in house or even a quality product, and the eggs weren't that great(undercooked).

    We saw Britton's from the side of the road and decided to try it out. We just made it in before they closed at 2:30pm on a Saturday. Once in though we were taken by the great atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered the "Hog" burger on the waitresses recommendation. It was amazing. Let me summarize the burger. Grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. Literally. And it tasted amazing! We split the burger and had plenty of food left over by the end. I'm excited to go back and try the breakfast. This is a great local restaurant with some good food and great service. I'm a fan.

    Came for brunch on a Saturday around 10ish and was seated quickly in a booth (I love booths!) . Our server was very attentive, we got our food quickly, and I thought the prices were fair. I tried the garbage hash which was ok-I thought it was a little heavy on the hashbrowns and while it was good, it didn't really have amazing flavor. I LOVED the pancake it came with-next time I would probably just get a stack of pancakes.

    Went for a late lunch with the family. Corned beef hash, unhealthily salty. My wife had ordered it, she has high blood pressure issues and gave up after a single bite. tasted like the corned beef came out of a can. I had the Philly cheese steak omelet. So so. not great. Much prefer even though this place is down the road from my home, not going back. I'll stick to the sugarhouse breakfast joints. Too bad there isn't a decent breakfast place south of the valley.

    My favorite place for breakfast! Eggs Benedict, chicken fried steak, pancakes, French toast, are all well done! Plus they leave a thermal pot of coffee at the table, so you get to drink it at the temp you like, and then instant refill! Home grown tomatoes when in season! Can't beat that! Plus warm, friendly, and attentive service!

    My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by Britton's. We're not from SLC and the location wasn't familiar to us, but the Yelp reviews convinced us to try it. I had the "divorced eggs." The sauces were good but not great, but the eggs, hash browns, and pancakes were delicious. The sausage is local and fresh and worth trying. My husband was impressed with his omelette. Coffee was strong and hot and refilled whenever it got low. We'll return if we're ever back in SLC.

    We love this place, have been eating here since it opened. The staff is always welcoming, efficient and friendly. The food never disappoints! I love their veggie burger, you can't always get those. And the onion rings are the GOOD kind, not the breadcrumb kind. That's impressive.

    Finally found a local breakfast place that I like! I've been tired of going down to Mimi's for breakfast and the Black Bear in Sandy has been disappointing. Britton's is a small diner with great service and great diner style food. I had a coffee, vege omelet with crispy hash browns, and a pancake instead of toast. The hash browns were great, and there is still an extra level of 'crispiness' you can order (be prepared to wait 20 minutes). The real standout was the pancake - this was one of the best that I've had recently - crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Don't expect this to be a low calorie meal...

    I really like that they offer extra crispy hash browns- my favorite! Worth the extra potential 20 min wait and extra charge-however, ordered them several times before but actually only got them once- I think. I'll probably save myself the extra buck next time and not order them as its a crap shoot if you actually get them this way. Or, if you get the blonde server, she will argue with you wether they are or aren't crispy. Garbage hash drenched and gooey is the way to go!!

    Wow! I walked into brittons with the attitude of trying to find something wrong. The very worst I could find was waterstains on the silverware. The service was phenomenal. The waitress had a great attitude and was to the point. The restaurant was clean and the noise level was perfect. The food was extremely delicious. I would recommend this to families, couples, and singles alike.

    Looking for the 60s vibe diner? Look no further, you gotta go to Brittons! This place reps the U and has got the freshest and healthiest tasting French Toast. We ordered Eggs Benedict which isn't your standard. It feels like it came out of the 60s. We tried both their chocolate oreo shake and their vanilla oreo shake. Love the chocolate oreo! I had my dobuts, but I prefer the chocolate oreo over the vanilla. For my first restaurant in Utah, I'm very impressed!

    Wow, what a great find! We were looking for a breakfast spot and this was perfect. The pancakes are fluffy and hot with a little crispy edge - perfectly cooked. The spicy Italian breakfast sausage was a nice change from the standard variety. Service was swift and accurate and super friendly. If I lived here this would be a regular breakfast hangout!

    I visited on Feb 10. The pancakes were great. The Chili Verde Omlette was ok but nothing to brag about. I agree with the previous reviewers concerning the coffee needing improvement.

    What a lovely, down to earth diner. It's good food, at a reasonable price and in an area of the valley that needs some better brunch options... Hollandaise sauce was lovely, by the way. It's in the Brunch Rotation for good now.

    I absolutely love this place! The shakes are ridiculously good (especially the chocolate banana). I only just recently moved here and have eaten there twice. The pancakes are also amazing. They're a little crispy and very flavorful. Go to Britton's and eat breakfast...if only they were open past 3pm.

    A solid 3 stars, almost 4, but I have had better. The food really was great, and its a fun little place. Everyone loved what they got and the service was really good. I will come back again and try some other more traditional breakfast food next time, but I highly recommend checking this place out and forming your own opinion as I really do wish I could give it one more star .....

    This was an amazing restaurant!!! We found it on yelp when passing through Sandy, UT and have never been more pleased. It was great food for great prices. It's not often that I can say that there was 5 star food at a 1 star price. I would recommend Britton's to anyone I know!

    We traveled from Oregon to ski and stopped by on Yelp's reccomendation. The breakfast was excellent. I had the chili verde omlette which was outstanding.Best pancakes I ever had. I would highly recommend. Great service.

    I have been going there for lunch most every Thursday for a few years now. Often get breakfast because the eggs benedict is very good. The pork sandwich is unique - sweet pickles. The Asian chicken salad is a great deal and the half portion is enough for me.

    I read about the Hog Burger in other reviews and I had to have one. It was everything I could have hoped for. On top of that the service was excellent. My lunch buddy was on hold on the phone and our waitress took over the call so he could eat. She was fun and kept our drinks full. I saw Garbage Hash on the menu so I WILL be returning.
