Okay, so the people working there seem perpetually annoyed at humanity, but if you love massive burritos 24 hours a day and don't care about having to deal with surly employees for the five seconds you're ordering, this place is perfection. I don't even care. Get the texano.

The food is A-Ok! nothing Special but not bad either. The prices are really good! The staff is friendly and attentive. Burritos are huge so you know your getting a great deal!

"Holy crap I love the burritos," is all I can say.

Like others I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I hit the drive through at least once a week - $2.50 for a Monster Taco is a bargain it's the size of 2 tacos at other joints nearby. I also enjoy the Carne Asada Burrito (make sure there is an open restroom nearby - this sucker will burn right through you). My only complaint is communicating w/ Staff. Broken English and mixed up orders get old - but then a nice cold Horchata makes me forget as I drive off!

This is some of the better Mexican food that you can find in Utah County. With that said, it still isn't all that great. The carne asada fries are atrociously over-priced (and not worth even half of what they charge) and the meat is mediocre. The other menu items aren't impressive either. You go to any of the carnicerias to get some meat and avocado, then you go to McDonald's to get french fries, and you can make your own carne asada fries, just like I did. When you're from southern California, you tend to be THAT persnickety when it comes to Mexican food. This place is better known as the Rancherito's across from the DI. Despite its low quality, my friend's didn't know any better so they roped me into going a couple times a semester. I only went because this is one of the few places that is open 24/7 in Provo. It is what it is. If you end up going with friends but you don't really want to blow your money, just order an agua fresca.

Great to eat when you're drunk. I prefer rancheritos cause i always get hit on here...sorta awkward... I usually order the 1/2 size super nachos with green sauce or on rare occasions, a breakfast burrito. their food kinda messes with your stomach but its really not that bad.

This is the place to eat the day after some hard partying. The greasy burritos will soak up any leftover booze in your system and leave you feeling bloated and disgusting, but not as hungover. Cheap as can be, I would lean towards anything with potato in it as they tend to be less greasy. Don't come here if you're on a diet or have high blood pressure, you'll surely perish after a cali burrito.

Can't pass through Provo without getting a HUGE burrito at Rancherito's (formerly Beto's). Carnitas burritos is still the best burrito, ever! Can't go wrong with the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese breakfast burrito. If you want "clean" prissy Mexican food go somewhere else. You want delicious Mexican, this is the place!

  • Sean C.

Of all the Rancherito's/Beto's around I have found this place to be the best. I need to caution you that eating here is like playing Russian Roulette.. Whether the food is good or not depends on which cook is in the back. Sometimes the burritos are out of this world good, stuffed full to perfection. Other times the burritos are super small, not evenly distributed, and cold. The one helpful thing I have found to make the burritos most consistently good and so everything doesn't fall out the bottom is to ask for the burrito to be double wrapped. This gives the cooks more space to make the burritos bigger and the food doesn't soak through the bottom.

For late night snacking I think this is the best place you could possibly because after clubbing at like 2am we had the munchies and this place was a great fix, the food is decent and so is the horchata. And I say that as someone who is part Mexican and raised in the culture so it's not like saying Cafe Rio is good Mexican food.

  • Jeff H.

Love it! Laid back place and they get the food out to you quick. Can't go wrong with anything you order here! Not the cleanest set up but who cares as long as the food is good! Mos def would recommend for anytime of the day especially a late night craving

  • Laura M.

It's not gourmet but if you're hungry for Mexican and a lot of it go here. I suggest going on in because you have a variety of condiments to choose from. Drive thru is okay but I like the choices. The chicken burritos are good as well as their crunchy tacos.

Pretty great Mexican food. They are open 24 hours, and their food is great. Had an awesome Chimichanga.

  • Richard G.

Food taste- 100%. Food price- cheap. Try a breakfast burrito. I come from Sacramento's Mexican food scene and have been searching far and wide for a burrito place that can match Adalberto's style of comfort food, large platter dishes. Rancherito's is the answer. Customer service is okay, facilities are below average ( I had to switch to the womens bathroom halfway through because I ran out of tp and it was too small and damp in the mens bathroom) With that said, I keep coming back.

  • Lilly S B.

The Carne Asada is to die for and the flour tortillas are made fresh when you order! The rice and refried beans hit the spot for this Tex-Mex and are authentic--I'm very picky about my Mexican food. The flan is creamy, not watery, and comes with its own separate carmelized sugar! Heaven!

  • Whitni P.

I loooooove their burritos. The actual building is pretty disgusting but the burritos make up for that and make it all worth it. Love the steak and eggs burrito, California burrito, and the bean burrito. Best Place for a late night meal

  • Cameron P.

I don't know if Beto's and Rancherito's is owned by the same people but they have the exact same quality/taste to me. If you like playing Russian Roulette with you food this is the place for you. But then again, who doesn't like taking chances at 2am in the morning?

  • Jonathan D.

This place is horrible. I freaking got food poisoning from eating a texano. Stayed up all night sick as a dog. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

  • Nathan T.

Rancherito's has gone downhill. I have had poor customer service the last few times I have visited. When I ask for a special order, they seemed annoyed.

  • Johnny P.

Holy carne asada. Carne asada, guacamole, and pico de gallo make up this tasty burrito. Who would have thought something that seems so simple could taste so amazing.

    (4)
  • Pete B.

The carne asada dissolves in your mouth like powder.. very old thawed out meat. So gross. They also don't know how to wrap a burrito, the whole thing fell out the bottom. Come on guys!

  • Marie A.

Love the Orem one. Hate the Provo one. They raised the price of the rolled tacos and they looked bigger and tasted worse than they did a couple weeks ago. They tasted worse the second time I tasted them when i VOMITED them out 10 minutes ago too! I am really offended that they would serve food that would poison their customers. I will never recommend or go back to this place or the Orem one. They do have good burritos but who knows if I'll get sick again. Just read some of the other reviews and a lot of people have posted about getting sick. Not cool.

    (1)
  • Rebekah H.

This is the place to be if you're drunk, halfway drunk, or recovering from a night of being drunk. It's super greasy and there's literally so much food your stomach starts crying halfway through 1 burrito. The best place about this location is to sit in the booth where the BYU students got in a fight. I would suggest looking that video up on youtube while you're sitting in the infamous booth. It's normally pretty busy, even at 1 am. It's usually full of cheapo students or drunk people and sometimes a beautiful combination of both. The best things on the menu are the Super Nachos, any of their breakfast burritos (the bacon and egg one is awesome), and the rice pudding. Go, eat up, and then go home and lay on the floor for a couple hours and feel sorry for yourself.

    (3)
  • Sterling W.

Its poor ambiance and smell of cleaning fluid detracts from every bite. Overall, quality is low because no love is put into the food, its just a 'what do you want' and 'hurry up, there are other customers behind you' type of place.

  • Zach L.

Both times I've eaten here I got sick. The first time I had the carnitas burrito. The second time their chicken tacos. Needless to say, I'm not going back.

I've heard of the rep of this place.. and it's been known for the name, "Masturbetos" I didn't really care as I was hungrier than ever tonight, so I decided to get a quick breakfast burrito. Machaca and Eggs. I was amazed by the taste, (me being raised in Baja Cali. and my brother owning Mexicali taco & Co. In L.A. The best tacos in L.A. Look them up of you don't believe me. ) Anyway, I enjoyed my burrito until, I had a bowel movement and had to run to the toilet about 15 minutes later.. I told my Roommate about it and he was like "no way, me too!" That's all I have to say... Never eating here again.. Definitely lives up to it's "Masturbeto's" name...

tl;dr: decent place but minus one star for being a little more expensive that I think they should be. I've been here a couple times and I appreciate that it's a little bit more than your standard Mexican restaurant (it seems like a lot have the same beans, rice, chips, and general stuff). While their horchata is from a mix- it's still quite good. (For those of you who have never had horchata before- think of cinnamon toast crunch made into a delicious beverage. Then forget that- since horchata is way better. ) This visit I got carne asada fries which were large but the beef was more like ground beef than carne asada. I would recommend splitting it with someone. Don't attempt it on your own. It was about 9$ and it was a lot of food but I thought they could have a least heated up the steak.

  • Alec W.

Overall I have been very impressed with the food at Rancheritos. I have tried a few of their burritos which seem to be the focus of the restaurant. However there is a decent sized menu with tortas, carne asada fries, tacos, and various other items typical of such a establishment. My go to item has been the Car it as burrito. Loaded with meat guacamole and pico, I have found no wrong with this burrito. The price is perfect too. At $4.80 including tax I prefer this burrito to other places. Quick service as well, and the cashiers are friendly too. While not the most physically attracting building the tasty food makes up for it in my mind. I wouldn't say this is authentic Mexican but hints at it.

  • Joseph R.

It is ABSOLUTELY astonishing the amount of money I have poured into this establishment. Over a year I have eaten here, probably in the neighborhood of 20 times a month. My entire store I work at orders from here frequently. Almost every day there is rancheritos ending up at my store from one of my employee's. I ABSOLUTELY love this food. I do not know why, but I never ever ever grow tired of it. Ever. They aren't always the greatest at getting my order exactly how I request it. Sometimes I don't want cheese. Sometimes I want something added. Most times they don't get that. But the food is great, the staff is friendly. I really love it here.

24 hour Mexican food drive thru and lobby, large portions, awesome nachos, incorrect orders. There is also a 24 hour Del Taco just north of Provo high school. The food has been hit or miss for me. The super nachos (their only nachos) are very good. I once ordered a shredded beef burrito and that's exactly what it was. If the menu doesn't say it comes with cheese or peppers or whatever, then it doesn't. You get exactly what it says, so don't assume anything. It was big but just a ton of shredded beef inside a burrito casing. I ate about half of it but it became too greasy for me. I've tried some other items that were alright. I always ask for some extra ingredients and every single time it isn't done correctly. Some of the ingredients are missing and/or I get a different size of the side item I asked for. This is very frustrating. Granted I only go late at night, so it's possible that the day crew is more accurate. Sometimes I will ask what a food or drink is in English and they don't know. So I'll ask what the ingredients are so I can figure it out, but they don't know what's in it either. I'm not going to order something if I don't know what it is. Come on guys, get some more knowledge of your products and I'm sure that you will sell more of them. There are tons of Rancheritos in and near Salt Lake City, but this is the only one I've been to. Apparently at some point it used to be called Betos and in some places it still is. The lobby always has plenty of people enjoying the food with some friends, even in the middle of the night. I've never been inside though. I would give this 3 stars but it is 24 hour so I will make it 4 stars. Please increase your knowledge of your products and order accuracy, then I will order more.

Somethings different. They changed around a LOT of stuff. Their combo breakfast burrito was always a staple for my wife and I and we loved it. We have been going there about once every 2 weeks for years now. Today my wife brought home our usual and we noticed that the sauce was different. They changed the red and green sauce. The red sauce is thicker, darker, and a dark brown color. The green sauce is a bit darker too with specs of orange in it. The green sauce wasn't bad and tasted like the usual stuff, but the red sauce was terrible. The burritoes were different too. Ours both had breakfast bacon bits in it instead of the usual mexican bacon. The potato bits were still almost raw and the ham just tasted different. I couldn't find any egg in mine but my wife's had some (which isn't uncommon) but it just wasn't the same. I don't know if they are under new ownership or what, but I dont know if we will be going back there. Maybe we will stick to the Betos in Springville.

Had their bacon breakfast burrito with pico! I didn't know bacon could come so thick! Delicious!

  • Sara P.

Oh Rancherbeto's, Betorito's, whatever your name is now, You bring me delight wrapped in tortillas and foil. I drink salsa from your small plastic cups. Your portions are most large and you are always ready and waiting for my visit. Though definitely not high class or gourmet, I appreciate you for what you are. If we ever have to part, I will manage, but I will never forget you. Yours, Sara

Delicious Food. Terrible facility and service. Seriously though...the food. HUGE burritos and the mixed breakfast burrito is the best I have every had.

Place is pretty good if you want cheap fast food Mexican. However every time I'm done eating here I feel sick to my stomach. Cheap prices on drinks and food.

This is one of those places where you can get a super large burrito for $5. One burrito = 2 large meals for most people. Great deal if you're a college student looking for food at anytime of day, I think they are open 24/7. They serve breakfast and regular burritos all day. I had their CA burrito today, it was alright. I've had better ones from San Diego. The burrito was huge, I had ordered it with guacamole which is extra. Nothing special with their toppings. For me, the burrito needed more seasoning and more toppings: there wasn't a balanced and even spreading of toppings to make each bite as good as another. Also, by the time I got to the bottom of my burrito, a lot of the oil from the carne asada or the potatoes leaked out which made it a bit messy and a little unappetizing. The restaurant itself is ok; it's clean but not as big as your typical fast food restaurants. I take mine to go typically. They are pretty fast at getting you your order. Side sauces are nothing special either, I take 2 small tubs of their red hot sauce and 3 of the avocado sauce; the red sauce by itself is pretty hot for most people but after adding it to the burrito and with the avocado sauce, it isn't that bad.

  • Corey M.

There isn't a better Bacon Breakfast Burrito on the planet. A little red sauce, a little green sauce and you've got a little taste of heaven!

    (5)
  • Mark P.

So this is a restaurant that I sometimes love and sometimes despise. It goes in phases for me. The big plus about this one is that they are open 24 hours so when my wife gets off work at 1am and we're hungry we have a place to go. To be honest I only ever get the steak and egg breakfast burrito so I can't give a broad opinion of the food their. I can say that breakfast burritos are good and their hot sauces are great. My favorite is the green hot sauce. Just make sure you check your order before you leave. I've had them mess up my order enough so that I don't just assume they got it right.

    (3)
  • Eli f.

as good as it gets for the price. I have been a long time patron of betos... because... well, sometimes you are hungry, it's after hours, and you can't stand fast food. If you live in Utah County, AVOID the Springville Betos. Just about everyone I know has gotten sick from there. Otherwise a great bang for the buck!

    (5)
  • Russell C.

Love it! The food is good and the pricing is very good. My number one complaint are the people working there. It takes forever sometimes to get your food or any help at all. The food is sometimes scary and you wonder how long its been out but I still love it.

    (3)
  • Nick W.

I got the Breakfast Burrito, and enjoyed it very much. It was ridiculously huge, and delicious. They're pretty slow at getting the food out to you, but it's worth it. I have already recommended this place, but only for the Breakfast Burrito's (any kind, really). From what I've heard, you must be careful with some of the other food. But, I'm a fan of this place.

  • Erin Q.

Ever since this place changed its name to Rancheritos, it seems that it has gone downhill. A few months ago I got some rolled tacos here...they actually reminded me of California Mexican food. But last night I found my rolled tacos to be luke warm, not very meaty, and bland. I was unenthused, and regretted making the decision to come here instead of KFC for my favorite chicken bowl (far better than you'd think). I also ordered some chips and guacamole. Well, it was pretty much the same as my rolled tacos - fried tortillas with shredded cheese and a HUGE amount of guacamole. I guess I can't complain, because really, what was I expecting? Overall, Betos is decent. What I love is the fact that when you pull up to the speaker in the drive-thru, a prerecorded message (male voice) comes on to tell you to "take a look at the menu and I'll be right with you" and the worker at Betos (female voice) comes on right after to ask for you order. Is it that difficult or even necessary for the person working the drive-thru to relay this message?

  • Catherine C.

Betos is a sorry excuse for Mexican food. Save your dignity and your money. My friend found.... Manly hairs, let's cAll them in her burrito and was practically cussed out when she confronted the man at the cash register. Betos for me? I'd rather eat crap.

The eating area was filthy, the food tasted funny, and my wife got food poisoning from their burritos and although I do understand that happens sometimes, when I went back the next day to tell the manager, he didn't seem to care. He was so rude to me. At first, the lady at the register told me he was too busy and asked if I could come back later, but when I looked into the back he was just standing there watching. I waved him out, and he told me that he could not do anything for me, and I could call his insurance if wanted. I said that was not acceptable, so he said he would call the insurance company, grabbed a phone and disappeared into the back again. I waited about 30 minutes until I saw him leave out the back door. I went out to see what was going on and he was driving away in his truck. I stopped him and asked what was going on. He said there was nothing he could do and if my wife was sick, then "go take her to the hospital." I tried to explain how I understand that every place has bad days and that I was planning on still telling people to give it a shot just in case they have a better experience, but that I wouldn't now because they have such bad customer service. I asked him if he cared about his customers, and his response was that he "cared about his business." I tried to explain that without his customers he had no business, but he did not seem to get it. I told him that I had no choice but to call the health inspector, and tell everyone I know not to eat there, and he told me to do whatever I wanted. I have never been treated so poorly at any business establishment. I will never be back.

I'm giving this a rating of 1 star because they are a rip off now that they changed their name to Rancheritos. They have horrible customer service. They treat you like crap and this last time I went they charged me twice. I called back to talk to a manager and they hung up on me. I won't be eating there anymore.

Betos' is foul. Nuff said. Stay away if you have any self preservation at all.

  • Ryan R.

Betos was my reliable late night burrito place for years. They deliver filling, tasty food, at a perfect price. The quality of the meat can be pretty hit or miss but when its good its fantastic and when its bad, its still pretty decent. My favorites were the carnitas and the california burrito. They also have pretty good horchata.

    (4)
  • Matthew K.

They seemed to be good when they were called Beto's but now they seem to use different ingredients and their portions are smaller. I would recommend going up to American Fork to get some real good Betos food than visiting this Rancheritos place. I love the Betos breakfast burrito. To me it is the item to get. You will not need to eat your next meal for sure. You will be too stuffed.

If you're looking for tasty Mexican food and lot's of it, this is the place to go. My favorite is the carne asada burrito. Simply fantastic.

  • Dan P.

Why did I give a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant five stars? Because I can. I know plenty of people who would be outraged at this, flailing their arms about and ranting about all the other Mexican places that you could go to, or how they once found a rubber band in their burrito, whatever. The point is this: Beto's is always there for you. They are open for a full 24 hours of tasty Mexican goodness. All day, any day. Out for a late night of partying? Have an after-party tostada with your buds. Broke up after an emotional scene with your girl/boyfriend that lasted till 3 a.m.? Drown your sorrows in a tasty horchata. Remember people, at 3 a.m. in Utah County, it's either this or Denny's. And letting your tears fall into a cup of horchata just seems more exotic than sitting at a Denny's crying over a Moons Over My Hammy special. That's just plain sad. And then there's the price issue. "Splurging" at Beto's means spending over five dollars. Unless I'm downright ravenous, one burrito (about $3.25) is all it takes to make me walk away FULL. These things are huge. One of my personal faves is the Carne Asada, packed full of tasty steak and guacamole. They have a nice fixin's station with fresh lime, chopped onion, cilantro, etc, so you can make sure you get some veggies in there too. (If you're into that kind of thing). The shredded beef and Texano burritos are very tasty as well. Be aware, though, these things can be messy. Think of them as the Carl's Jr of Mexican. To date, I have never walked away from a Beto's dissatisfied. So I really have no reason not to give them a full five stars. I know there are multiple locations in Utah, and I can't speak for all of them, but this Provo one has treated me right as long as I've been in this state.

I eat their breakfast burritos, and at lunch their tacos. The burritos are worth 4 stars. The tacos worth 2. But the Chicken Enchilada's are worth 3.5. So...

what?? this place changed it's name to Rancheritos?? well, anyways, i remember Betos when i was going to college in P-Town. the food is good for utah mexican food. my personal favourite was their 5 rolled tacos - which were smothered in wonderful guacamole. this place was also open late.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
