The food here is delicious and fairly reasonably priced. The ambiance of the place is not very good--I would have never eaten there had it not been for the reviews. But my burrito was amazing, and I love any place that has a salsa bar. If you want a big and delicious burrito, this is the place!

We went here on a whim because I'd read on Yelp that it had good reviews. We weren't disappointed. The carnitas flautas were delicious, the guacamole was super fresh, loved the rice, and I now have a new favorite horchata in all of Utah Valley - with a great portion size. The service was also very quick and extremely friendly. The actual location itself is kind of meh. It's very clean, but looks fast food-y. Don't let it put you off. It's worth going.

  • Kiana P.

Overall good, but I've had better chimichangas. I would probably go here again, but it's a little overpriced for what you get.

Wonderful place! Had the pork carnitas platter. The pork was flavorful and tender and they brought all kinds of great things to fill your tortillas with. That along with salsa bar allowed me to customize it to my tastes. My friends had the burrito and the quesadilla and those were delicious too! Thx to my friends for the letting me try them. Haven't had a bad thing yet. Worth the try for sure.

We came here because of the yelp ratings and we were very pleased. I got the California burrito, smothered which was delicious. But next time I think I won't get it smothered because California burritos are meant to eat with your hands. My husband got the steak fajita platter and it was delicious! We also got the chips and salsa which we really liked. Great fast food Mexican restaurant-we would definitely recommend it.

  • Brooke K.

Nothing special. We had the chicken and steak fajitas, carne asada chimi, and the quesadilla kids meal. The only things that stood out were the peppers in the fajita mix. Those were cooked to perfection. The meat was over spiced.

This is our favorite "fast-Mexican" place in Provo. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of food is amazing and has kept us coming back despite the higher price-tag. The California burrito is a unique take on the fast-Mexican classic and is easily the best iteration my husband has had. The shrimp tacos are amazing, I seriously can't get enough of them. The sauces at the salsa bar are fantastic and unique, so be sure to hit it up on your visit.

Hidden gem in Provo. The food was very fresh, authentic and inexpensive. Puts other Mexican restaurants in Provo, such as Los Hermanos to shame.

This is the best Mexican food we have found in Provo. Food is fresh and the portions are very generous. The staff is very friendly.

Love this place! I have come here several times with my husband and we have never been disappointed! Like other reviewers have said, the shrimp tacos are great! But be warned, they are spicy!

Emmanuel's has decent Mexican food. I'm from San Diego so I'm probably pickier than most but the food is over priced, pretty basic Mexican erring on the side of bland and their salsa isn't too popular. Every time I go I'm a little disappointed.

  • Matt K.

Arguably the best casual Mexican restaurant in Provo. I tried the Carne Asada tacos and they were absolutely amazing with fresh top sirloin steak (not that typical dog meat that other places have) that was cooked-to-order. Their fresh salsa bar is delivers as well with some of the most tasty salsas I have tried. My friend who came with me ordered the Shrimp tacos and they looked (and were) delicious. I am salivating just thinking about going to Emanuels--it has dethroned Diegos in my book for the best tacos in Provo.

  • Tim H.

Best Mexican food in Provo, hands down. Love the tacos. Love the verde enchiladas and verde burritos. Portions are very generous, and most meals are $6-9

  • Tyler B.

The best tacos I've ever had. I went yesterday, going again today.

Best california burrito in town! I crave them, and love that it comes with a side of tortilla chips. Definitely worth a try!

I go here at least once a week. I bring friends here regularly. I recommend this place regularly. I love Emmanuels. Food is great, salsa bar is amazing, owners are friendly and care, and the place is very clean. I really can't recommend this place enough.

I've been here many times. It's one of the best Mexican food joints in the Provo-Orem area. Delicious food, friendly service, muy bien :)

We tried Emanuel's for the first time tonight. It was exactly what we were looking for. I got a Chile Verde burrito which was really good but didn't have as much meat in it as I would have liked. My husband got the carne asada plate which he enjoyed also. We'll come back but will probably try something new!

3.6. So I will round up. The food is pretty tasty but it is pretty expensive. AND THEY DONT HAVE AL PASTOR!!! I went about a year and a half ago and they said they were talking with the health department... or something... in order to have al pastor. and still not al pastor. So that kind of knocked them down a little bit for me. AL PASTOR!!!! Nonetheless it is a good clean environment with reasonably priced food that is good... nothing amazing but good. I enjoyed eating what I paid for. But in my own personal opinion I think that it is kind of over priced for the quality. But in a zombie apocalypse it would be SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it. MY PLATTER: Burrito (full of meat cover in chile verde), taco (chicken with lettuce and tomato), enchilada (cheese covered with a red salsa). Enchilada and taco are pretty average sized the burrito is pretty big. THE VERDICT: this is a must if you are in to mexican food. if you dont fancy mexican food that much then I do not suggest you go here. It is within walking distance to my house so... laziness takes me to this place on occasion.

Utah county is no Long Beach when it comes to California burritos. I've had a hard time finding them anywhere so it was exciting to see that Emanuel's does one. To make things even better, it is amazing! The guac is fresh, the potatoes are crispy, the steak is flavorful, and it is big! With their super flavorful salsa bar it is hard to beat. It is a bit pricier than most "fast food" Mexican but it's worth it.

Slightly different review here, and my first on Yelp. My wife and I regularly make the drive from South Jordan to Emanuel's because we love the food so much. We had a wedding coming up and on a whim, we asked during one of our visits if the owners would be willing to cater the wedding luncheon. They were extremely happy to help, and I have to say, this was the best catered meal I have ever had at a wedding! All the guests raved about the food! It was fresh, it was plentiful, and it was all presented beautifully! The venue even complimented the staff of Emanuel's when it was over, saying they were the best caterer they had ever had on the property. To top it off, when we realized we had forgotten a dessert the day before the wedding, they offered to supply cupcakes. They stayed up all night making them, and they were absolutely delicious as well as beautiful! What service! And all at a very reasonable price. We now have another wedding in later this summer, and by popular DEMAND, Emanuel's will again be the caterer!

The house burrito is amazing. I can't pinpoint what the exact ingredients are that set it apart from a regular burrito, but it definitely has its own, unique, delicious taste. My husband and I go here regularly. He gets the California burrito, which he likes as well, but I'm too attached to the house burrito to get anything else.

I've seen tons of businesses come and go at this location but these guys better stay! I had their carne asada tacos and loved that the meat was lean but still flavorful. I try to eat healthy and I didn't feel bad after eating here. The only reason for a 4 and not 5 stars is I think they should have complementary pico. I had to pay extra for a tiny bit of pico to go on my tacos. Overall though it was super good.

I was skeptical when everyone said they go to this place weekly, but I was really impressed. This is good Mexican food. We got flautas, tacos and horchata to share. The horchata and tacos were what you would expect, nothing extraordinary there, but the flautas were way good and it was a big plate of food. I was most impressed with the salsa bar and the owner. Whatever the orange sauce was, was so good - I put in on every item of food. The owner brought out our food, was so nice and came back to check on us to make sure we liked everything.

Not even close to el vaquero but they give you chips are much cleaner and less authentic experience. They are lacking on the seasoning but the carne asada burrito i had was okay.

  • Mitch A.

I was sorely disappointed with this place this time. I had been here previously and the food was great. I am willing to pay a little bit more for a clean restaurant. This time I got my usual Carne asada burrito. The meat lacked seasoning and was burnt. The chips that came with it were also overdone. Service was fast but if you can't nail your entrees it's not worth it. No amounts of fresh salsa, cilantro and onions can cover a poorly crafted burrito. I love Mexican food but I will not be back here.

This is our new favorite "fast" Mexican joint. The food is similar to betos/racharitos food, except it's insanely good and twice the price. Like most places in this genre they only have Pepsi products :( but i keep coming back because the food is just so good. Minus one star for the prices (8 bucks per burrito) and Pepsi only. Most entrees come with chips. Easily the best California burrito I've ever had.

This place has been in business for about 18 months but I only discovered it last week. My wife and I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Provo because we are both from California and need our Mexican food almost daily. We went last week, and we ended up going 3 times in the last week. I had the tacos, a chimichanga, and the California burrito, all of which I was impressed with. The tortillas are fantastic. In a land where Cafe Rio is the go-to "mexican" place, this place stood out. As for the atmosphere, it is a nice clean place. lots of white furnishings that show that they are clean. The owners are awesome and I got to talk to them for a little while on my last visit. The place is named after their son Emanuel, who is about 16 and he was actually working the grill when I went in there. They haven't done much advertising because the budget hasn't allowed them to, but they are getting to the point where they are "over the hump" and they are stable. All around great place.

Grilled chicken burrito is really good, and I like that you get some chips with it. Grab some fresh salsa and you've got yourself a meal.

  • Rob S.

Very clean environment. Food ingredients seems very fresh. The kitchen is open where customers can watch their food be prepared. I felt I got good value for my money. If you dine in, they serve the meal on an actual plate similar to a sit down restaurant, but with fast food prices and no expectation of having to pay a tip like you would at a regular restaurant. There are tables for it outside dining, but being Utah, there's probably only two or three months of year where it's comfortable to sit out there.

  • Emma M.

Excellent service, and very pleasantly surprised with how good the food is. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but it's now my favorite Mexican food in Provo hands down. They say it's fresh, and it really tastes like it. I have eaten there twice in the last week and haven't felt nasty afterwards like a lot of other Mexican places in Utah valley. Their food isn't greasy, and it's full of flavor.

Used to live right next to this place for about a year. Went there with my wife (she is from Mexico) and I got a burrito and horchata and she got a few different tacos. To be honest, the people were nice, but we both were disappointed in the food, it was even worse than Rancheritos and priced higher. The horchata was rotten. Save yourself the money and eat somewhere decent like El Vaquero or Diego's (if it ever opens again).

    (1)
  • Matthew C.

Very clean and orderly. Not too loud and well laid out. Just a very pleasant place to be. They make their own horchata (not from a mix) which says a lot about them. The staff is friendly. It seemed a bit in the pricy side compared to other places but not by much. I got a burrito which was heavy and bigger than I expected. It was spicer than I expect but overall pretty good.

Some of the best Mexican food west of California and north of the border. I love their tacos and the chipotle chicken burrito is huge and tasty. They also have the pickled carrots which are muy autentico. They have this creamy salsa that is el bomb. Great, friendly service too. I hope they stick around.

Over priced burrito that was mostly potato. Astonishingly delicious green salsa though. I tried their California burrito which is their most popular item. Apparently, potatoes are one of the main ingredients. I wasn't excited about the potatoes but wanted to try something new. Unfortunately, the burrito was about 2/3 potato. It would be more aptly called a potato burrito with smidgins of chicken, peppers, and other ingredients. The part that wasn't potato was decent tasting, but was drowned by potato. This should be called an Idaho burrito. For $8, I expected a much better experience. There is a small bar with salsa and sauces that you can help yourself to. The regular salsa was watery and weak, but their green salsa was off the charts delicious. It reminds me of Indian chutney sauce. It had a strong streak of cilantro too. I'll give this place another chance with a different item next time and hopefully have the positive experience that everyone else has had.

Went here a couple years ago because I love taco shops and was happy to have another choice in the neighborhood. Had the carne asada burrito and walked away thinking it was slightly overpriced and fairly boring. Gave it a second try today. California burrito, enchiladas. Same opinion. Much better options available in Provo than this. Ingredients are sub-par. Food is flavorless. Everything is priced 20% more than competitors.

Went here solely based on Yelp reviews and again, you Yelpers did not disappoint. There was no line when we got there and our food was out to us within ten minutes of ordering. The place was quiet for a while, until a few Provo all-stars escaped from Belmont/King Henry and made it unnecessarily loud. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito and my husband ordered the combo plate. I tasted everything on his plate and my favorite thing was the pork burrito. All of it was delicious but that burrito was especially yummy. The burrito I ordered was HUGE (almost to Beto's size) so I had enough to keep for leftovers--which was great because it was divine. Probably one of the best burritos I've had at any Mexican place in Utah Valley. Not too dry, but not messy the point where I need a bath afterward. I wasn't super impressed with the chips that came on the plate with it, and none of their salsas really sparked my shorts but I'm kind of particular about salsa. The place itself was pretty clean and the guys working there were polite and helpful. And the prices weren't bad at all. Very manageable. I'd definitely recommend a trip here!

Great Mexican food. Everything tasted wonderful!! Ordered the shrimp and steak fajitas. It was a large plate of food for only $10.00. The guacamole was fresh and very tasty. My daughter ordered the steak nachos and was not disappointed. Large portions and it only took about 10 minutes to get our food. Will most certainly come back.

  • David K.

Decent but not amazing. I've tried a few things there. Taqueria Vaquero is much much better in my opinion-the carne asada burrito there is great. And Laura's Kitchen is much better than this place--try the chicken super nachos there--awesome!

When in expecting food like Betos or Rancheritos to my surprise it was the opposite. For us that have been to Rancheritos when you ask for a steak burrito that's what you get steak unless you pay extra for beans and rice. So me and my boyfriend ordered a steak burrito. The burrito had beans, rice, and the meat. Hands down best burrito I've had in a very long time.if you choose to eat in you get your burrito with a side of salad and chips. There salsas are AMAZING, if you like spicy ;). Towards the end as a compliment the owner came by and said, "Tres Leche Cake for you guys. It's on the house". Shocked we said thank you. It was very good. Point is there food is great and it has lots of flavoring just like my moms. Will make a stop again Friday. :D

Amazing! Hands down the best Mexican in Provo. I go 3 times a week. Plus, Hector is the man. Really quick, and really good. I highly recommend it.

Amazingly good Mexican on 900 East about 560 North, just southeast of BYU. We got the Carne Asada Nachos for $6.50, which had lots of steak, cheese and beans layered all through the chips, not just on top! It also had scoops of guacamole and sour cream on top. Plenty of booth seating, clean and new with two wide screens on ESPN. All you can swizzle Pepsi/Dr Pepper products, and salsa bar. Great sit-down fast Mexican with authentic flavor, just off campus in the middle of zoobieville.

This place is fantastic. The food really is incredible. The staff is very friendly and you get an insane amount of food for a low price. We tried the carne asada plate, carne asada nachos, and chicken fajitas. All outstanding. We will be regulars!

I grew up in Texas, so I'm super picky about my Mexican food and this is, so far, my favorite place in Utah County for Mexican food. The food was fresh and delicious and doesn't hide that it's crappy under a huge layer of melted cheese like some other places do. Because it's not crappy.

I have tried a couple things here and found I only like the bean and cheese chimichanga and fried ice cream, those alone make me come back

Had the carne asada burrito, chili verde style. Delicious and very filling. Husband had the carne asada platter and was also Very satisfied. If we ever have reason to be in Provo again, we will definitely be back here to eat again. Staff was very friendly.

Emanuel's is all around a very good restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the loyalty program is actually worth joining. I am a big fan of the Chicken Fajita Salad, which costs $7.50. The chicken is really good and I also recommend the cilantro lime ranch. You really can't go wrong with Emanuel's.

One of those local "dives" with fast food booth seating but awesome meals. HUGE servings served inexpensively with a smile. Homemade guacamole, incredible chimichangas, burritos, and tasty tilapia tacos. Friendly, fast, clean (despite the old booth seating). Great value for the price. Fun old-fashioned soda-pop bottles on sale in addition to standard fountain soda drinks.

One of my favorite places in Provo! Great service, they're super friendly! Highly recommend it for amazing carne asada and shrimp tacos! Also the chimichanga is super good and the horchata is the best I've had in Provo! Definitely go!

Great food presentation, nice people, but not worth a $9.60 burrito. Don't get me wrong, it IS good, but only marginally better than other Mexican food counterparts. Try El Mexiquense in American Fork.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
