If you like meat you'll love Cubby's. Even if you don't like meat you'll love Cubby's. What's so good about this place is that the meat is so good. I've had a few different menu item because I wanted a overall view of there menu. The tri tip is fantastic in the salad or the sandwich. Dragonslayer Burger is tasty and satisfying. The fry's are awesome no matter what you get. They make simple foods taste simply extravagant. Quality food and a quality dining experience. There is a reason that this place consistently gets great reviews, the food is dynamite. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

I have been to cubbys a handful of times & have never been disappointed! I love all they have to offer! If you are a real fan you will do yourself a favor and buy one of their shirts, it's one of my favorites! Just go to cubbys, I usually ask the employee to tell me their favorite & I end up loving whatever they tell me! Great place, great atmosphere, great service!

One of the guys at the counter was rude. Our food also took a very long time to come out. Food was good but not great. Also the counter help were not at all helpful with our kid orders telling us that even a mild sauce was too hot when it was not. Their spicy isn't even that spicy. Also I read reviews about their mustard sauce so tried it. It just tasted liked mustard, didn't get the 'sauce' element. I am now in edit mode...and we packed up the chicken Parmesan salad because we were full. I just ate the salad and almost all is forgiven! Delicious salad and dressing!

Good, quality food all around. Fries are bomb! Salads hit the spot. No complaint about any of the sandwiches. Prices are just barely above what I would consider average but when you consider the quality, consistency and that they get you your food in a timely manner... Can't complain.

The fries were good, but I had the tri-tip and it was extremely mediocre. The bread was what lowered the score for me. It was not very good. Comparing only that sandwich to other places, I would rather eat at Sensuous Sandwich, Quiznos, Jimmy Johns and even Subway. I'll probably go again and try a different sandwich next time.

"Where do you want to eat?" DUH! I want to go to Cubby's! always down to eat at this place. The food doesn't get old. I have never been disappointed with this joint. I have taken so many people here and gotten them hooked on their food also. (My mother in law included, and she is from San Diego and extremely picky) Even my mother who is from New York is in love with this place. My favorites: The Dragon Slayer The Tri-Tip Steak Salad The apple pecan chicken salad The cocadoodle doo? don't know how to spell that You have to try their buffalo fries. seriously good. And if you get the sweet potato fries ask them for their spicy sauce stuff that I love! But if you don't want to be disappointed please just eat the dragon slayer. Hands down the best burger I have ever tried. They also have gluten free buns and options, so that's a plus! GO TO THIS PLACE! Heck, I have never written a review ever. ever. about anything!

I love Cubbys! Of course they have amazing burgers, but there salads are just as delicious. I always get the Apple Chicken Pecan Salad. Yummy dijon dressing! Buffalo Blue Cheese Fries are another favorite.

Yum yum. Great find in Provo for tri tip sandwiches, tri tip salads, beef sandwiches, and much more. Lots of choices in preparation make this a top lunch choice. The only downside to Cubby's is the lack of fresh brewed iced tea - lousy fountain stuff only. Otherwise if you're hankering for a great lunch in Provo, Cubby's is your place.

Incredible food for the price. I got the tri tip sandwich with buffalo bleu cheese fries and it was excellent. The tri tip was well seasoned and the sauce was very good. The portions are plenty big and the menu has just enough to give options without being overwhelming. The fries were a little lacking and could have used more buffalo sauce but I went for the sandwich anyway

  • S.A C.

Ordered the tri tip sandwich and the rosemary fries.. have to say they were pretty good... Tender beef and crispy fries is all I needed, well... Maybe just a tad more BBQ sauce but over all the flavors were pretty awesome

great new spot in lame Provo. I was visiting some friends down there and we headed to Cubby's. Holy deliciousness! I had the main tri tip sandwich and it was incredible. That together with their fries and that nice kind of aioli sauce was enough for me to give them 5 stars. their service was great and fast. My friend has their salads there all the time. They are pretty big, and a great alternative for people that don't enjoy meat too much.

The only thing I've had here was the Rip City tri tip--loved it. Good sauce and tender, flavorful meat. Update: Went in for the Mr. Beef. Good, but I like the Rip City better. I did order it wet and must have misunderstood--I thought wet meant dunking the bread, not just the meat. Maybe next time I just need to order it "wetter" rather than "wet."

I love their steak salad. My hometown has a restaurant with a delicious steak salad and cubby's has the closest steak salad to it. The BBQ mustard sauce is yummy. They also give you a decent amount of steak in the salad which is always nice. So when I am away from home and up this way I love to go to cubby's.

Very casual place. Expensive. Busy. Loud. Decent Food. I have been here a handful of times and have tried much of the menu. The burgers are too dry. Out of everything I have tried, I would only recommend the tri-tip options: sandwich or salad. Both excellent. The buffalo fries are the best fry option. We spent $25 for one salad, one sandwich, one fry and two drinks. Not sure if I will be back again.

Beef. BBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEFFF. I'd had an Italian beef sandwich once before I made my way to Cubby's. It was in Chicago and it was absolutely unforgettable. So when my fiance's brother started chatting up an establishment that serves such a sandwich in Provo, I got there as fast as I could. It was a nondescript Friday afternoon and the line was already out the door. I guess he wasn't the only one clued in about this place. I went with the original because, well, of course I did. It arrived all meaty and juicy (huhuhuh) a short time later. The meat was delightful indeed, and I had no problem quickly devouring its wonderfulness. I should try to be less hungry the next time I go so that I'll eat more slowly. The carrots and celery on the sandwich seemed to distract a bit from the peppery goodness (and I'm going hot next time, just to let you know. Man peppers, not boy peppers!), but it is a minor complaint. Others around me had the Tri-Tip sandwich and the grilled chicken, which both received high marks. I sampled a bit of the sweet potato fries as well, a good rendition. Service is friendly, the price is right. I'd say that I wish it wasn't all the way in Provo, but if it was near me, I might get fat pretty quickly.

This place is amazing! I recommend the tri tip steak sandwich - all of the BBQ sauces are awesome. I usually get sweet sauce but it's just a personal preference. The buffalo bleu cheese fries are a must, and don't forget to buy a cookie (or 5)

I woke up from a nap and the food fairy appeared! We were watching Food Network when my boyfriend decided we needed to have steak for dinner so we turned to Yelp. The tri-tip sandwich was meaty with soft and toasty bread and a sweet and tangy sauce. It was a good meat to sauce ratio. The dragonslayer is a solid burger, especially if you like bleu cheese. The fries were unique and came with a fry sauce which reminded me of thousand island. My boyfriend called in the order and it was ready by the time he walked in. Great service, great food, and reasonable prices.

Love this place! Tried a Tri-tip sandwhich while in Provo on vacation. So good. I can't eat gluten and when I asked about the gluten free options they were super knowledgeable about cross contamination, what I could and could not eat, etc... The gluten free menu is awesome! Had a Tri-tip sand which and craved it for days. Had to get another before heading back to California. I'll eat there again the next time I'm in Provo for sure.

LOVE this food. Very high quality, made from scratch, prepared fresh. I just wish they had more menu items. Tri tip steak is the star at this place. The chicken cockadoodledoo is one of the best, fresh, grilled chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The buffalo blue cheese fries are delicious. My husband loves the tri tip sandwich. The tri tip salad and the beet and goat cheese salad are both so delicious and healthy. Hearty portions. Local ingredients. Modern rustic style and decor. Cool place. You'll for sure see a hipster or two there.

The Food is freaking amazing.. If you like a Beef Sandwich you have to get Mr. Beef. with boy peppers. haha The Buffalo Fries are awesome.. they add the perfect compliment to the food. Love the new addition to the place. Need a place for a business lunch.. this is perfect. Great food and you will get full. I WILL BE BACK.. I will bring our lunch gang too.

The best place to get a quick bite in Utah county, period. Absolutely delicious and of top notch quality. My only complaint? The Giardiniera is far from the best I've had, too mild and too bland. Go eat here now. Get off your couch, go! GO!

  • Rod S.

Only 4% of my reviews are for 5 star food. If DP Cheesesteak can't get one for an excellent rendition of a cheesesteak, how does this place rate better? They still have flaws. It's not quite as good, to me, as JohnnieBeefs, but in it's own way it's every bit as good. The entire experience and larger menu is better. Also, it's nearby. I like that. We need more places like this in Utah County. I was thrilled to see it packed today. This time around, the bread was better. The beef had more herbs and spice. The giardiniera left a tingle on the lips afterwards, but I think it's still too tame. However, I'm not likely the target market. I don't expect locals will allow it to be full strength, so I'm not going to hold it against the restaurant. Sometimes a place just has to make adjustments. This one is reasonable. They've found a good balance. My only nit is that I still want a bit more juice to be soaked into the bread when it's wet. This time around, the giardiniera was pretty heavy on the oil that dripped out too. I think the only real issue I have is it's too dry and they still don't have an order of fries for one person. I brought a friend. He thought is was a great sandwich, but he commented, without me saying anything, he'd like a bit more juice too. I gave the original review 4 stars for promise. They've fulfilled the promise. There are very few really good sandwiches in town. This is one of them!

Mr. Beef = AWESOME Tri Tip Salad = Perfect (and I am NOT a salad fan.) Blue Cheese Buffalo Fries = Amazing. (Skinny fries!) Items mentioned above are my favorites. I've tried a lot of other Cubbys items, and have never once been disappointed.

Cubby's is a real "find" in Provo. Everything is delicious. Great sandwiches but the real star in my opinion is the tri tip salad! Very nice staff and fast service too.

  • Jason B.

"Do you want that the usual way--hot and wet?" There is no other answer than "hell, yes." Let me back up. Cubby's is a glorious hole in a strip mall that smells of meat. I hit the place about noon, and it was pretty full. I ran my eyes up and down the menu. There were some tempting items: Chicago dog, sausage, a sausage on a bun dunked in hot gravy; but I decided I wanted The Original and some saucy buffalo fries. Whilst I awaited satisfaction, the place went from pretty full to stuffed. My meat came out all sloppy and drippy, but it tasted good. There was a lot of beef, and it was topped with stuff. This is a place I could come again and again.

I was excited to try this place as I LOVE a good Italian Beef sandwich. The layout is awesome and there is a great variety of food to choose from although I was going for one thing... I had the foot long Mr. Beef, the wife had the 6" Mr. Beef, and we shared the buffalo fries. The fries were great, simple, and very tasty. We both had ours dipped and manly. The giardiniera was not hot at all (I think they used serranos vs jalapenos) so I don't understand why they would have the certain classifications of girl, boy, and man unless they are catering to a crowd that they feel does not like heat. The meat was ok, the sauce was great, and the bread seemed like it was from the day old bakery. Overall I was hoping to love this place and make it a treat to come in every so often to satisfy my cravings. Fresh bread and hot giardiniera would make me come back for more.

I like the almost soul focus on beef here. And most of the menu items have a bit of a twist on normal beef sandwiches and salads, especially the tri tip or beef dip sandwiches as just an example of two of their items. The tri tip is the best of the two sandwiches I've had here. Love the addition of bacon and a garlic butter drizzle, though I confess I had a hard time discerning the latter. My one critique is the barbecue sauce, which is good, should be mixed deeper into the sandwich and not just drizzled on top. The meat was a little dry down deeper into the sandwich. But a tasty sandwich all in all. The beef dip was good as well and comes pre dipped which is interesting. Personally I'd prefer to do it myself with a dish of au jous. But it was fine this way--didn't detract at all from the sandwich. They add some spiceness to it with peppers and onions added in proportion to the amount of spiceness you request. I wasn't sure at first if I liked spicy beef dip but it grew on me later especially since the au jous was a little bland. Not the best beef dip I've had (go to Bailey's on State Street in Orem for one of the best) but acceptable nonetheless. The meat on both sandwiches was lean and had good flavor, but was perhaps a bit dry. The bread is apparently home made and is quite good. My friend I came with reported the tri tip salad was one of the best salads she's had. She was praising the thing the whole time she was eating it, so apparently the salads are pretty good too. The sandwiches are reasonably priced and will fill you up. Ladies will enjoy the good looking male staff behind the counter, and the friendly service will be appreciated by all. I would come back again.

This place is great! Other than the large, frequent TV's in the restaurant, this was a delicious date night for me and my honey! We both had their Tri-tip sandwich...fantastic! delectable, juicy meats with some great sauce options. Messy though. Grab some napkins, which are awkwardly placed over each trash can, rather than at the front desk. Took me some time to find them! We will definitely be back again to try something else from their massive menu!

  • Eric J.

I don't understand the love for the buffalo fries. I felt like i might have enjoyed my fries more without the bleu cheese and buffalo sauce. tritip sandwich was ok but i felt like i spent a lot of money for what i got. the flavor was ok but not amazing. whatever.

LOVE THE FRESHNESS AND FLAVORS! Hands-down the best meat, fries, and salads on the planet. Great sandwiches! The Beef is unreal! Wet can be messy but it's worth it. The Tri-tip is awesome. Great Buffalo Blue Cheese fries. Try the sweet potato fries too. They are both awesome. Oh, and ask for the spicy fry sauce. Every salad I've had has been perfect and EVERYTHING is fresh. I just wish there was more stars I could give. I can't believe ANYONE could come here and have any issue with the food quality and taste. The seating is a bit rustic, but hey it's all about the food anyway, right?!? Can't wait until they expand their dining room and add other locations. Cubby has got something special going here. Look for Cubby's to be BIG! A personal favorite. #1 place worldwide to me. Fresh and Quality=Tasty. Cubby understands this. PS-You can't say you've lived until you've tasted the Dragonslayer...

I had the Chicago beef. I have spent a lot time working in the Chicago area and have eaten many a Chicago Beef sandwich. cubby's version are quite authentic but lacking in that the ones in Chicago have waaaay more beef in them. The burgers are good but not great. Same with the fries.

Tri tip sandwich very tasty. A little messy but big. Rosemary fries with chipotle fry sauce-yummy!

For some reason, I thought this was a hot dog place, so I went in expecting a hot dog. This is not without some degree of parking lot dogfighting, Know going in that parking around lunch hour will be atrocious and it's a wonder anyone has straight fenders there. The place is kind of dinky and looks a lot like it was a BBQ place, just has that sort of ambiance. The layout is definitely odd, as journeys through the maze to the bathrooms will substantiate. Service was, to put it charitably, mostly brusque and very abrupt. All of that aside, we get down to the food. I had a Tri-tip and being that I'm trying really hard to get a handle on my eating, since most of the former control I had over it is gone, I elected to skip the fries I badly wanted and just stick with the regular sandwich and a fountain drink (they have Coke Zero, so good on them but the fountain mix was very poor, so bad on them). Given that it was lunch and crawling with people shortly after I ordered, but they were slow to get me what turned out to be a very uncomplicated sandwich. By the time I got it, the bun was warm, but the meat inside was cold. Not ice cold, like it had been refrigerated or chilled, but no more than room temperature. The beef was also overcooked. Given that they did not ask how I wanted it done, it very clearly is not made to order. The BBQ sauce on the very top layer of the sandwich was ok, but spicy, as I ordered, it certainly was not. The bacon was very well-done and crispy, which is exactly how I like it, but there was not enough of it to compete with the beef, the sauce and the bun, sadly. For over $10 for a sandwich and a drink, it's a bit pricey, but given the below average quality of the sandwich, especially in terms of that price, it becomes a lot pricey, pricier than I will consider intentionally choosing for lunch again. The flavor wasn't bad; it just wasn't great, either and certainly not enough to justify the cost...or the wait...or the irritating mess that negotiation of the parking lot entails. Pass.

I've heard a lot about this place and tried the place out. I thought it was a bit too much for the size portion. I wasn't overly impressed by the food but it was good. Didn't want me coming back for more. More of a one time deal for me.

  • Justin G.

My wife and I decided to eat here before their new location opens up right next to us to see what we can expect. Holy. Crap. This place was fantastic! I got the dragon slayer; probably one of the best burgers I've had. My wife got the portabella sandwich and was equally as enthusiastic about it. We both shared an order of buffalo blue cheese fries which were delicious. About the size-honestly it wasn't as small as some of the other reviewers make it out to be. The burger I got wasn't huge; not small by any sense of the word either. Overall I'm now 100% pumped to have this place opening up in Lehi very soon. I just hope the quality is maintained at their second location.

This is an update to my earlier post. I honestly wanted to love this place so I told everyone about it, even requested a gift card to this place for my birthday and finally was able to go back yesterday to try something new. Unfortunately the "Original Mr. Beef" did not live up to the the standard I set at the earlier visit. I got the Boy style sauce and the wet option. Let me explain, the meat had this sort of gamey taste to it, seemed like no seasoning at all, they added some vegetables on top, which was a nice attempt of getting vegetables into your diet, but they didn't compliment the sandwich at all. Then they dipped it, just like it says, into their "secret sauce" which gave the sandwich a musty BO flavor and left the bread completely soggy, to be honest it was quite disgusting. Overall I was extremely disappointed, I thought I had finally found a place that was decent & local with everything on the menu being above par, guess I was wrong. FYI I still really liked the Tri Tip Steak wich.

  • Kaisha M.

If you like peppers this is the place for you even the "girly" (read: mild) dishes are SMOTHERED in them. Once you get past the peppers the meat is fantastic; it's moist and very flavorful. I, not being a huge fan of peppers, am not in a rush to go back but I certainly wouldn't rule it out; there were some very yummy looking salads that I'm eager to try but the person I went with LOVED it and hasn't shut up about it since.

The food is very good and the environment is excellent. I recommend the tri tip sandwich and the buffalo blue cheese fries are awesome!!!! The burgers are good as well. Also grab a cookie for dessert they are amazing. I would like to see beer added to the menu as it would compliment the food very well.

I have been here quite a few times because I love their vegetarian sandwich! It is a great place my boyfriend and I can go together because he is a "meatatarian" and I am a vegetarian. I like that they serve happy meat (vs. tortured meat) and he loves them. I only gave it 4 stars because I got the cesar salad last time and besides the fact that it was way too big I didn't care for the dressing. I totally give it 5 stars for the vege sandwich though!! I can't speak for the boyfriend but based on his mmm mmm mmm's I think he would give it 5 stars too...

Tried this place with some friends while visiting from Vegas. It's a nice addition to Provo of something unique and appetizing. I had the tri-tip sandwich with sweet BBQ. I really wish I had gotten something else though. It was $9 for a 8-9 inch sandwich with nothing on it but meat! My wife and friends got their famous salad, which is delicious and a much better value than the sandwich. We also got the sweet potato fries and the buffalo fries, both of which were alright. All in all, the prices are a bit steep for what you get,but the salads are quite tasty.

I was pretty pumped when I went back to Provo and saw this new place had popped up with good reviews. In the end, it wasn't as great as people had been saying. I got the tri-tip sandwich and sweet potato fries. I felt like the sandwich was just ok--the bread was a little dry and there was nothing amazing about the rest of it. At $8.50 I was expecting a little bit more, size wise as well. The sweet potato fries were actually very good, especially with the chipotle fry sauce, so ask for some of that with your order. If I still lived in Provo I might go back and give it a second chance and try a different sandwich, but since I'll only be visiting, I'll be choosing other places I know I like or haven't been to before.

Fantastic food and speedy service what else can a restaurant do? I had a "Houdini" the beef was juicy and the bacon was crisp and, most importantly, the mushroom wasn't soggy. The sides were delicious and the portion sizes were decent. Definitely going back.

Great Sandwiches! Thought it was a little over priced for the amount of food your get. The tri tip sandwich is delicious!

  • Rob M.

Really great food. Everything I have ever eaten here was super tasty. However, the portions are small for the price. This is manly sounding food in tea party sizes. The prices might be justified if you left feeling full, but you will be left with the nagging feeling of, "should I go grab something off the dollar menu now?" However, you should definitely try Cubby's. The food is fresh and tasty. The bigger, more filling meals are actually the salads. I recommend the Tri-Tip Salad.

  • Trent M.

Cubby's best menu item is the dragonslayer. Great burger that I've overlooked for months in favor of the tri-tip sandwich and the Mr. Beef. I'm not normally a bleu cheese fan or buffalo sauce, but the dragonslayer is awesome. If you like those things, it's a no brainer. But if you don't, still give this burger a try. You'll be glad you did.

Hands down mine and my wife's favorite place to eat. And that's saying something because my wife isn't much of a meat eater. Salads are incredible AND filling. I've had almost everything on the menu and haven't yet been disappointed. Some of my favorite items are the Dragonslayer, TripTip Sandwich, TripTip Salad, and the Buffalo Blue Cheese Fries. Great atmosphere in the restaurant too. Clean, friendly employees, several hdtvs playing sporting events, etc. YUM.

Great stuff, went here with a group after a day of climbing. I had the tri tip salad, husband had the tri tip sandwich with spicy bbq. Both of us finished our meals and our order of rosemary fries w/ chipotle fry sauce. Flavorful, fresh, etc. etc. etc. The salad dressing tasted great. Not a bad price either, just over $20 for both of us. Just noticed the review below from someone who ordered the same meals as we did...accurate.

I am so happy to have found this place. I spent some time in Chicago and found Portillos to have the best Italian Beef sandwich. Cubby's is like Portillos. I will be back and bringing all my friends. Cubby's is going to be a go to place for some awesome sandwiches!

I have only been once and enjoyed the food. I don't remember the name of the sandwich but it was a tri tip sandwich. Delicious but I thought I could make something just as good. Still want to try other parts of their menu. Rating could go up with more visits.

  • Chas M.

Cubbys is really good. It's all about the beef here. I've only been twice but if the prices were a little lower, I'd be a frequent diner. Their fries are quite tasty and their sweet potato fries, like all sweet potato fries, are fantastic. Lots of good sandwich and burger options. 4 stars because of the price, not because of the food.

1200 people can't be wrong! Tri tip is awesome, the smothered not so good. Dragonslayer was delicious. All in all, four stars! !

Cubby apologized and did say he would look into asking her to tie up her hair. All is right in the world! I will be back weekly/biweekly! What I would recommend is the tri tip salad ad the cock a doodle doo. Of coarse the rosemary fries are a must. I also appreciate the quality of ingredients used.

We've been here quite a few times, so pay no attention to my "1 Check-in." Everything is good! They have hearty, sandwiches & salads, and lighter, no-meat salads & sandwiches; something for everyone! My favorite of all time is the Dragonslayer Burger w/ Avocado Spread. Don't forget the avocado spread! And don't worry about picking the wrong fries, they're all good. And actually, that goes for everything on the menu as well; you can't go wrong. My kids love this place, too!

  • D C.

Overall good place for casual lunch or dinner with friends and/or family. Decent for young kids with some kids menu items and high chairs. Location and parking weren't great. The inside had a decent modern casual feel. TV's were playing Sporting events, which is a touch I really like. The food was good...I had a grilled chicken sandwich, and it was certainly above average. The rosemary fries were just ok. The buffalo blue cheese fries I actually didn't like that well. It was a creamy blue cheese dressing and buffalo sauce, and not that great. I tried the tri-tip, and it was ok. The grilled chicken sandwich was certainly the best thing I tried. I would give 5 stars if the fries and tri-tip were similarly excellent, but I felt they weren't quite 5-star quality.

Great food! I love the Tri Tip Steak sandwich (with sweet sauce) it is extremely tasty! The sweet potato and rosemary fries are both great! I have also had the Tri Tip Steak salad and cock a doodle doo (chicken sandwich) and both were delicious. The staff is VERY friendly and it's a great place to watch a game with 4 or 5 flat screens.

I don't eat bread for personal reasons, and the guys here made my tri tip on a portabella for me. Totally 5 out of 5 stars. Good food in Utah county, who knew?

Cubby's is one of the best things to ever happen to me, food-wise. The Mr. Beef is an experience. A juicy, delicious experience. I LOVE the tri-tip sandwich. The rosemary fries are the best I've ever had. Heck, even the salads are good. I can't recommend Cubby's enough.

Wonderful and flavorful! I got the "man" spice level. It wasn't that spicy. I could still taste all the favors. I highly recommend getting it dipped in the sauce. It might be a bit messy, but it's worth it.

I saw this place for the first time not long after they opened, but I went for the first time last night. And now I'm not sure why it took me that long to go. I had the Tri-Tip Steak Sandwich, my husband got the Dragonslayer burger, and we split an order of sweet potato fries. I fell in love with my sandwich, and the fries paired with the fry sauce were perfect. I'm not a Tri-Tip sandwich connoiseur (in fact, that was my first one ever), but it was delicious. The sweet BBQ sauce I got on it was sweet with the perfect amount of tang. My husband enjoyed his Dragonslayer burger, but since we're Five Guys people, we end up comparing everything to them. I think next time he'll be getting the Tri-Tip sandwich instead. The only problem was the service of the cashier. He was so distracted by his friends that were eating at the restaurant that we had to say everything we were ordering at least twice before he would listen enough to get it right. And even then he was still talking to them and only paying a marginal amount of attention to his paying customers. Regardless, the food was delicious and I'm looking forward to going back and trying other menu items.

Disclaimer - I was born and raised in Chicago and know a good Italian Beef sandwich when I eat it. So, of course I ordered the "Original Mr. Beef" wet, man style. I'll start with the positive - the actual beef is dead on. High quality, perfectly seasoned and spiced....Yum! I'd actually give the meat 5 stars. Zero stars for the bread. You need a perfectly chewy slightly crusty roll for a good Italian Beef that can hold the gravy and pepper juice without turning into a gooey mess. I don't know that it is possible to get such a roll in Utah. My wet sandwich was a doughy mess on the bottom and I can only imagine how goopy it would have been if I ordered it dipped (as I would in Chicago). The giardiniera gets a 1/2 star. It's made with fresh celery and carrots rather than pickled in hot pepper oil and vinegar. They also throw in some NOT hot peppers and seasoning. It is mild, mild mild and totally WRONG! If you get a beef with giardiniera, you expect some burn! One of my favorite parts of eating an Italian Beef is the burning chin from the giardiniera juice running down it. I highly suggest the owners look into Marconi Giardiniera (that's what they serve at Portillo's in Chicago). And almost as bad as the bread and giardiniera - the service!!! Think lackadaisical! Will I be back? Yes, but I will bring my own bottle of Marconi Giardiniera and try and suffer through the soggy bread and crappy service.

I have tried numerous things here because my friends like to go here but I just haven't found the right thing that I absolutely love. I have liked a lot of things but haven't found my true love there. I do really like the fries with the buffalo sauce.

Live in Utah county and want a good burger, sandwich or AMAZING SALAD? I would definitely recommend you to go to Cubby's. It's not expensive, and it's a good place to eat. Definitely tasty, and they have good customer service. The only thing I didn't like is that my burger was small compared to other places, but tasty. I had the dragon Slayer, which I believe has blue cheese, couldn't even taste it. It's that good.

This is a great little place for sandwiches down in Provo. The tri-tip was fantastic, I added both Cali and El Caliente style to my order and it made for a perfect sandwich. The Buffalo Bleu Cheese fries are somehow tastier than they should be, and the sweet potato fries were also really enjoyable. We found the place to be pleasantly busy for lunch, providing a nice backdrop for relaxed conversation. I appreciate that the meat and ingredients are hormone and antiobiotic-free and are sourced locally whenever possible. Would love to see a place like this near SLC.

Signature Chicago Beef. Because of their location and the lack of good restaurants in the area, besides Kneaders, Cubby's would be one of the best lunch options in this area of Provo. I liked the decor with the menu chalked up on the wall and wood panels, giving it a barn feel. What We Got.. On the menu, there are multiple options to add to your sandwich. Different sauces, girl, boy, or man peppers. Man, being the spiciest. I like when I'm able to control how much spice I get! The Bad Boy BBQ Beef ($4.99)-Shredded Italian beef with a mixture of their homemade BBQ sauces, spices, pickles, on a homemade bun. Nothing fancy, but tasty. The beef was finely shredded. It was almost like melt in your mouth beef jerky, if that makes sense. The beef was so soft and tender, that even my 6 month snuck a taste. It was actually his first man meat eating experience, so Cubby's will always hold a tender spot in his milestone calendar. The Original "Mr. Beef"($6.99)- Signature Italian beef with thin slices of seasoned roast beef topped with our famous giardiniera on a Italian-style roll that is dipper in our secret famous sauce. Basically...beef meets beef. It had a mild oil vinegar taste that was unique. We got our peppers boy style (the only option that day) Service.. This is an order and pay place. They were fairly busy but we got our food really quick. I noticed multiple people come in and take out a bag full of sandwiches. I'm guessing because they are located across from the hospital and Central Utah Clinic, it would be a yummy choice for lunch meetings. Overall.. Yellow light. I enjoyed the food and if someone wanted to go again I would, but it's not something I'm going to be craving next time I'm pregnant. The prices were awesome!

Fantastic! I regularly go to Cubby's now, usually for the Tri Tip sandwich. If I'm really hungry I get sweet potato fries on the side. Every 3rd or 4th time I get the Houdini just to change it up. The other sandwiches are great too (with the exception of the "Mr. Beef" - just don't get that one... ever. I'll bet every bad review involves that sandwich). Cockadoodledoo and Dragonslayer are esp. good, but I don't get them because it means not getting a Tri Tip or Houdini!

I got the Tri-tip sandwich and my girlfriend got the grilled cheese. Both were good, but I would order the Grilled Cheese the next time I go. However I think it is more of a Panini than a grilled cheese, but that is getting picky with semantics. Anyways great new place in Provo. I won't be a regular here, but would recommend it, and stop in every few months.

We stopped by to check it out and see if it was as good as a lot of people say it is. The interior improvements to the space are really cool with plenty of seating and great feeling atmosphere. We ordered the tri-tip salad, the pear salad, the blue cheese and hot sauce fries and then had them surprise us with the absolute best food that they knew how to make. The surprise was the grilled cheese with chicken. The pear salad was just OK and had a decent flavor from the candied nuts, pears and dressing. It was nothing special or unique though. The tri-tip salad's dominating flavor was the lettuce. It had very little interesting flavor and was not worth ordering. The grilled cheese had some good flavors from multiple ingredients such as cranberry bread and avocados but it was so greasy that you could not hold it well and it kept falling apart. The grease did not help the flavor at all. The fries were covered with just a distributor's blue cheese flavored sauce (no blue cheese chunks) and Frank's hot sauce. Fine flavor but they got soggy fast. Any creativity in the blue cheese could have made them better. Overall the food was not worth going back for. I think it is only getting so much play because it is in Provo where good food is harder to find and this place works well with a college student's budget.

I really wish I could give half stars... This palce deserves 1\2 star more.. Cubby's is a great "little" place (emphasis on the little). You can tell their food is high quality, and freshly made, and honestly for what you get, you cant beat the prices. I had the Houdini burger, and look forward to many more food adventures at cubby's..

Excellent!!! Very good quality and freshness of food, and good service. Although nobody really likes to wait in long lines, it makes me feel good that a deserved restaurant is PACKED! I had the Chicago Beef sandwich which was very flavorful and tender. I decided to try both the buffalo blue cheese fries and the rosemary pepper fries. The buffalo blue cheese fries were inventive and fantastic! The rosemary fries were good, but could have used a bit more flavor. And last, but certainly not least, I would highly recommend the chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie. To die for!!!

I finally made it in to Cubby's for the first time tonight, though I live in Provo. I won't be taking so long to get back there. First, I gotta preface my review by saying I'm from Chicago. Born and raised in the city. Later lived in the burbs. Have an Italian bro-in-law who's been my bro-in-law and an influence on me since I was 7 (and I'm long past 7 now ;-) I've been to more places that sell Chicago Beef and the like than I can count. I know the real thing when I see/smell/taste it. Cubby's is legit. Today was my first time, and "all" I got was the combo (or as their menu calls it "The Heart Attack")...Italian sausage and beef with giardiniera on Italian bread. I like a pretty wet beef, but when it's a combo with the sausage, I prefer it less wet...let's call it "moist"...and I didn't even think to tell them that, but it's if as they read my mind...it was just the right moist. And the bread is as important as what's in it...and both the "bite" of the crust and the chewiness of the inside was simply perfect. I'm glad they're expanding...they def need the extra room! I was there around 7:30pm tonight (a Tuesday) and the place was crowded, with both those dining in and those waiting for takeout like me. The menu looks great...even the more healthful salad options look unique and yummy. I really do eat healthfully in general (a daily green smoothie and whole/raw foods and as little processed foods and sugar as possible)...so maybe next time I'll try one of the salads. But when a Chicago girl needs a beef, she just needs a beef (and sometimes one that also has some real Italian sausage tucked in the bread as well ;-). Cubby's would even put a few of the joints I've been to at home to shame. So glad they moved out here and brought this taste of home (and more!) with them. I will be back soon...and often.

If someone invokes the standard stereotype of American hamburgers, bring 'em here. Meat perfectly cooked, crispy rather than soggy fries ( of various kinds), real cheese, a variety of lettuces and herbs, . . . . The soda machine could use some adjusting (true for almost every fast food restaurant), but otherwise excellent food.

I visited the restaurant for the first time this weekend. Decor: Stellar. Reminds me of southern BBQ joints. Cleanliness: Excellent. Floors were clean. Cooking areas were clean. Restrooms were clean. Table next to us had a couple of young messy kids. The moment they left, the staff cleaned up the area. Price: Not too bad. Other reviewers complain the price is too high. Seemed reasonable to me. Food: Blue Cheese Fries. Others rave about them. I found them positively acceptable. Simply blue cheese dressing and a BBQ sauce on thin fries. Nothing new here - solid and tasty. Based on other reviews I ordered the tri-tip sandwich - the mustard option. Solid, good. Met my expectations. Misc. Comments: Good to very good but did not measure up to the hype I've read on Facebook, etc.

This is a great place. You have never lived until you tried the dragonslayer. You also have to try the buffalo and blue cheese fries. The dragonslayer had buffalo sauce, blue cheese, and lettuce. (Skip the tomato because i dont like tomatoes lol)

I had the Mr meat and I have to say I was less than impressed. I couldn't even finish it. Bread was soggy and the meat just seemed dry. Better with sauce on it but I'd never recommend it. My husband, however, had the tri tip and it was DELICIOUS. So I just won't get the Mr meat again. Also LOVE the sweet potato fries. That's what we heard is good there and they did not dissappoint.

First time there today, had heart attack special. Sausage and beef. It was a giant link sausage wrapped with sliced beef, dripping in veggies and sauce of some kind. It was really good however my dry cleaning bill is huge. Shirt, sweater, and pants all with big stains. And I was careful. Next time in I'm wearing a hazmat suit. I'll go back and soon. I'm dropping one star cuz the buffalo fries were off. Julienne cut fries (yea) with buffalo sauce (not sugary, just hot) and I think Ranch. Was too goopy and tasteless for my tastebuds. Unique place.

OK, let me start by saying that I really, really wanted to like this place and based on some of the reviews that my fellow Yelpers posted I was very excited to make my first visit but I must be honest and say that I was left wanting. First the soft drinks, the mix on their soda machine is set so low it was like drinking water, don't be cheap guys, turn the mix up. Next the pepper fries, just saying pepper fries makes me happy but when I was given my order they were already cold. The kicker is that they were pretty good, they were shoestring fries which I love and they had just the right amount of pepper on them so if they served them hot they would be awesome. Next the burger, I tried the Dragonslayer and they mix blue cheese in the hamburger patty and it was not terrible but it was not my thing. It was OK, but even if it was good I would have to buy two of them because they are just barely larger than your average slider. So here's the deal, this seems like a neat place and as I said I really want to like it so I plan to go back and try something different from the menu, who knows, if the fries are hot and some other item on the menu is better than the burger I may become a believer. As of right now, not so much. Until next time Yelpers ........................... Be Local, Buy Local, Live Local!!!!!

I heard about this place and I simply had to try it... It did not disappoint! Had the Cockadoodledoo & Rosemary fries; good flavors and great tasting. Simply delicious! The ambient of the restaurant is good. My rating, 5 stars. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food!

Cubby's opened just after I moved away from Utah, and my friends were constantly posting pictures of delectable looking food from here on my Instagram feed. So when I visited I had to try it. I had a salad (I can't remember which one, ugh.) but it was fantastic. I am crazy picky about my lettuce--no stems! no iceberg! Theirs was high quality and the serving was the perfect size. My fries were delicious and crispy and fresh. I wish I lived close still so i could try all of the other delicious things on the menu...particularly a burger, which looks fabulous. Only 4 stars because the place is SO crowded. They may even have moved to a bigger location by the time I'm writing this; it was definitely too small for the crowd they are drawing. We had to stalk people to steal their table, and felt way too crammed in. I would order out next time. UPDATE: I'm changing to five stars because I've had four people assure me that they moved to a bigger location and that it's not nearly as crowded as it was. Problem solved. Star awarded.

It was so delicious. Honestly, absolutely so good. I was walking out to my car after and I was thinking about how I could easily eat another one. But that is both the reason for a good review, and the reason it isn't a 5 star review. I ordered a Tri Tip sandwich and a order of Sweet Potato fries (with the Buffalo Sauce drizzled over those. It's better). The Tri Tip was so good. I don't eat meat much at all, maybe a few times a month, but I used one of my few times to have this sandwich. I had heard rave reviews. I ate the sandwich and the meat you didn't even need to bite, it came apart without effort and was delicious. The fries were insanely good too. I love the Buffalo Sauce on the those fries. Delicious. My friend came down from Salt Lake Valley, he raved about it too. But my Tri Tip sandwich was really small. Really, really small. I am not an overweight guy. I don't expect crazy big portions. But this felt like it was only about 6 inches. And here is the kicker, I paid over $12 for this meal! It was insane! They must have charged me extra for every vegetable I asked them to put on it. I enjoyed every bite, but I left that restaurant wanting more to eat after I had just finished a sandwich, an order of fries and a glass of water. There wasn't even a drink that I purchased! Now I am okay with spending money on good things. I am writing this from a Macbook Pro (I understand paying more for better quality). I LOVE that these people get their food local and treat their animals humanely. I honestly do. But $12 for a meal without even getting a drink? It is cheaper to go to a sit down restaurant and tip a waiter for bringing me all my food and drink. I could get two Chipotle Veggie Burrito Bowls for the price of this one meal. It is DOUBLE the price of that meal. It is insanity. I'd love to go again but I think charging me over $12 is a deal breaker. The person at the register MUST have nickel and dimed me for everything I put on it. I didn't even look at the price before I ordered because I wasn't really worried about it. I learned my lesson this time. That said, I loved the decor. Such great style. I loved the TVs with the game on. That was great. The restaurant was way too small though. My friend felt so pressured to order from the menu that is WAY too big because the line was out the door behind us with no seats available. He had analysis paralysis because of how detailed that menu is. I think I saw that they are expanding to the place next door. That will help a ton. Again, absolutely delicious, but $12 is insane for a sandwich and some fries.

This place is so amazing. It is my new favorite place in Provo. Which isn't saying much since there aren't a lot of great places to eat in Provo, but Cubby's is a breath of fresh air. Their ingredients are super fresh and delicious and grass-fed beef is just better for you all around, besides its great taste. So far I've had the Tri Tip Steak Salad once and the Houdini Burger several times because I can't get enough of it. The Tri Tip Steak Salad has organic romaine and arugula, roasted bell peppers, slivered almonds, scallions, dried cherries, diced tomatoes, feta cheese, seasoned tri tip, drizzled with a lemon cilantro vinaigrette and it is TO DIE. So flavorful and fresh, you just feel good after eating it. The Houdini Burger has sautéed portabella mushrooms, smoked bacon, crispy onions, smoked gouda, mixed greens and a garlic aioli tarragon sauce. I always get the aioli on the side because aioli is just a fancy word for mayonnaise and I am not a fan of mayo. But even without the aioli it is so tasty, juicy and filling with all the flavors combining perfectly. I've also had the Rosemary Peppered Fries and the Sweet Potato Fries and both are great. Personally, I prefer the Rosemary Fries just because that's what I like. They are addicting and the portion is large so you could get by with sharing, but you will fight for the last ones because they are so yummy! The atmosphere is also great. I love the decor and the feeling there, so if that is important to you, you'll be happy. But Cubby's isn't just a pretty face; they have the food to back it up. They've recently expanded to accommodate their flocking fans and the restaurant is twice the size it originally was. If you're going on a Friday night, consider getting there early before the crowd!

We have been waiting for this place to open foreeeever and it was worth the wait! The sandwiches were amazing and the fries (especially the bleu cheese and wing sauce ones) were quite tasty. The ambience was perfect thanks to great interior and graphic design. Don't be put off by the strip mall location stuffed between a little caesars and a cell phone shop. The owners were super nice and open to suggestions. Overall a marvelous addition to the Provo food scene!

Excellent food. Tried the Rip City Tri Tip Steak sandwich. It was delicious--savory BBQ sauce & tender beef, served on a fresh bun. Loved the caramelized onions & bacon that was added. Sweet Potato fries were good, but my only complaint was the fries came lukewarm. I'll definitely come back.

I went to Cubby's Saturday morning for the first time, and I'll definitely be back for more! I went with my daughter. She had the Tri-Tip sandwich and I had the Cockadoodledoo chicken sandwich (minus the avocado--I don't like them--but sub'd with mayo). We shared an order of Rosemary Fries. All the food looked delicious when it was ready. The fries smelled wonderful, and the visual appeal of the whole meal was outstanding! The Tri-Tip was perfectly cooked, and my daughter chowed down on it because it tasted so good. My chicken sandwich was awesome! It came on a delicious multigrain bun that was nicely toasted. The chicken was cooked perfectly, as were the caramelized onions that were on it. The lettuce--a fresh mix of Spring Lettuce--was the right choice of greens for this sandwich. The Cockadoodledoo was an absolutely scrumptuous offering! The Rosemary Fries were fresh, tasty and well-cooked. They were a great accompaniment to our entrees. As far as the service, we were promptly greeted on entering and, after being asked about any previous visits, the menu was explained, the best selling items highlighted, and we were then left alone to decide on our order. Our food took about ten minutes to prepare, and when we left, the staff asked how we liked everything; to which I gave a quick and emphatic, "Outstanding! We'll definitely be back!" Cubby's Chicago Beef is an EXCELLENT restaurant! The food is delicious, the service is great and I welcome the delightful choices they bring to the culinary desert that is Provo, UT.

I have to start off by saying that had the prices not been so high, I would have given 4 stars. It was really hard to stomach paying over $10 for a foot-long, knowing that my wife and I could have gone to a sit-down for lunch for the same price (and food that was just as delicious). In a college town, $10 sandwiches may have a hard time. Not only did it seem expensive, but they were TINY compared to other places. The food was good, but it isn't fine-dining. Less food for more money isn't a good marketing pitch. Now, on to the food... My wife and I each split a tri tip sandwich and the Mr. Beef. I LOVED the tri tip sandwich! The meet was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was insane. The sauce got all over my fingers, and I couldn't help but lick it off. As mentioned above, a bit expensive for the portion size, but still tasted great. My wife liked it, but not as much as I did. Just a preference thing. I thought the Mr. Beef was good, but it wasn't my favorite. My wife really enjoyed it. Again, it's just individual preference. We both agreed that it tasted like beef stew on bread. Both my wife and agreed that the bread was not up to the task on either sandwich. It was good, but it was far too soggy. A firmer, larger bun would be a much better option. We also ordered a side of the Blue Cheese Buffalo Fries. The fries themselves were kind of standard, similar to In-&-Out. The Blue Cheese and sauce was delicious, and that is coming from someone who doesn't usually enjoy blue cheese anything. The portion size was good for the price. Not the best fries I have ever had, but still very good and worth a try. I really liked the atmosphere. Kind of a modern rustic dive, if that makes sense. There is very limited seating, but it wasn't too crowded when we went. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. I really appreciated his enthusiasm. I would warn you to avoid using the bathrooms. You actually have to leave Cubby's to get to them, as they are shared by other stores in the building, and they were nasty!

Being a selective meat eater, I was thrilled to find Cubby's offered "happy" meat options. Meat that is humanely raised. I love this! Because of my personal choice in only eating meat that is such, it was a treat to learn that I could have anything offered on the menu knowing it fit my philosphy. Not only that, the food is delicious. Not overly complicated but very complimentary flavors on every single item. I have brought many of my friends and family members here and even my meat disliking sister can't get enough of the burger or tri-tip steak sandwich! Great food, great staff and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. Hardly a week goes by now where I don't eat at Cubby's at least once.

Fantastic sandwiches, sweet interior design, and great service from an owner who obviously cares about his business. The Hot n' Wet original is fabulous. Very unusual combo of flavors, and super tasty. Great fries too. Way to go, Cubby's! Great concept, execution, and delivery!

Sadly, my Tri-tip sandwhich was just okay (a bit tough and chewy) and my rosemary fries were soggy. I did do take out which i'm sure affected the quality of my food but I was underwhelmed. It tasted fairly home-made but just nothing super special. No kids menu. The best part about this place was the decor. Loved the whole vibe.

My parents came back from Cubby's and they couldn't stop talking it. They like good food, but tend to be a little overly expressive about everything, so I was excited but skeptical the first time I went. Getting there I was blown away by how good it really was! All the meats are so juicy and flavorful, the vegetables are fresh, and the sandwiches and sides are inventive but really excellent. If you didn't know a lot about nutrition, you'd probably leave thinking you'd just splurged because it was so flavorful, but as a nutrition student I'm happy to report that the whole menu could basically be considered health food (sorry if that deters anyone from going ;) ). I still haven't tried the whole menu, but I can recommend the Mr. Beef and the sweet potato fries. Next time I go, I'm trying the dragonslayer, Cubby's version of a Bacon Bleu burger. I've heard it's amazing...

Rustic decor, attentive staff and outrageously good food. I ordered the portabello sandwich with add-on sliced tri-tip, no bun. Heavenly flavors and textures include roasted red pepper, onions, and avocado. Awesome goodness. I am a fan.

The food here is amazing. I've been 3 times now in the last month. Also, the rosemary fries are REALLY good although I wish they had a little more rosemary.

This is the best place to eat in Utah County. We go at least once a week and have never been disappointed. The tri-tip salad and the chicken sandwich is amazing!

I walked in, then walked out without ordering. Their menus offers three levels of hot sauce: "Girl, Boy, Man." When I got home I checked to see if this was a chain, perhaps one that started in Mississippi, or perhaps Saudi Arabia. Nope, this appears to be home-bred idiocy. My children would really like to eat here because of the name, so in a year I'll check to see if the menu has changed.

Cubby's is an awesome place to grab lunch or a casual dinner. The menu has a variety of tasty sandwiches, burgers, salads and sides. You cant go wrong with the tri-tip sandwich!

Had a Mr. Beef with extra salad(carrots, celery, and peppers that had soaked in vinegar), ordered it _dipped_ in some sort of amazing beef sauce. Best sandwich I've had in recent memory. The fries with bleu cheese and Frank's red hot were good, too. You'll need a bed of napkins to place underneath the sandwich, and then a few more in an attempt to keep yourself clean. This is a place for people who love food.

man i love cubby's! I've eaten at cubby's only a few times, but i usually order the Mr. Beef and also some buffalo fries. I've never eaten any of the salads, but my friends have and they look incredible and are loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables and tempting combinations. The sandwich is always delicious, and the fries are original and tasty. Cubby's is always really clean and the guy at the register is friendly. It's a cool place to eat, i really like the woodwork on the north wall which create some funky vibes. I look forward to trying other things on their menu. They claim to use only fresh ingredients, not to freeze anything or take anything from a can, which i really appreciate. The place is often crowded because it is so popular.

Literally EVERYTHING is good here. I've tried lots of different stuff-- salads, grilled cheese, in addition to the beef sandwiches. The spicy celery stuff they put on top is amazing. The restaurant can get a bit crowded, but they've really made the small space work and have as much seating and line space as possible. I always have great service and for me that's almost as important as the food, so 5 stars for that. They are no nonsense, but helpful and they make an effort to listen to what you want and always get the order specifics correct.

Cubby's is just down the street from my house which means we go there a lot. I have to say it's the best sandwich place in Utah County. You have to try their tri tip sandwich! They also have great sweet potato fries and fry sauce.

This place is great! Uses high quality ingredients to make really tasty sandwiches and salads. Didn't enjoy their french fries very much. Has a great atmosphere.

Got the tri tip steak sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce. I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint. Also tried the rosemary peppered fries-yum. And the accordion cut crispy sweet potato fries. Such a hit. Especially if you pair them with the chipotle sauce. I am one happy girl, hoping to return again soon.

Took a trip down to Provo from SLC today, and on a recommendation stopped by Cubby's to get lunch. I was richly rewarded with a delectable array of yumminess. Nice vibe. ESPN on 3 TVs. Friendly service from Cubby himself. And most importantly the food.... before I discuss, a couple disclaimers: 1) I don't know what "real Chicago Beef" is supposed to taste like, and 2) Cubby's is a little pricier than fast food. (But if you're looking for 12 inches of mediocrity, go somewhere else). Upon recommendation from Cubby, I got the Tri-tip salad (which seemed almost counter-intuitive to get a salad at a "beef" restaurant). I was delightfully surprised with fresh organic lettuce and veggies, succulent meat, and a delicious dressing in just the right quantity. I'd definitely recommend it. I was also able to taste the Mr. Beef and the Heart Attack, and was smiling from the rich flavors and tender meat. Both the Buffalo Wing fries and sweet potato fries were great also. Personally, I'll get the sweet potato fries next time with the chipotle dipping sauce. Yum! I saw a coupe negative reviews and can't figure out what they are talking about, because I thought the food was delicious. My guess...just haters or "Chicago-natives" who are trying to assert a local snobery by claiming it's not "authentic" enough. Perhaps they are right...but my taste buds don't need to be from Chicago to know the food tasted great! Instead of expanding next door, expand up to SLC!

Ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich. OK, look. I know the kid is trying, but first: If you're gonna promise garlic butter, ya know, put it on the sandwich. Second: Toast the buns and put that said garlic butter on the bun. That's a dry sandwich -- must the entire area be dry? but i digress. Overcooked meat? That's a sin, brother. And when you figure out how to cook a slower, better-seasoned meat, add more to the sandwich. I know for a fact that this sandwich was borrowed from the same guy that created the original in Portland, Oregon. (it's called Rip City Grill -- and it's the real deal. Check it out if you're ever out of Happy Valley). What made this guy such a success -- and deservedly so -- is that he piles on the succulent, perfectly-cooked meat and sells a bigger, much better sandwich. He takes great care in everything he turns out. He runs it out of a food cart -- not a building -- just so you folks know. And he wasn't looking to build upon BS reviews. Buying the storefront next door to expand, for example. Sigh. So congrats on your success but my advice to you is: Hone those sandwiches first. Then again, If he builds it we will come" always, foolishly, works great in Provo.

First of all, YOU NEED TO EAT HERE. I am not one to really rave, but this place is definitely remarkable. I was kind of full from lunch when I ate here the first time, and so I ordered the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad. I wasn't expecting it to be the best salad of my life, but it was. It consisted of a spring mix salad dressed in a really delightful mustard vinaigrette. It had deliciously juicy, hot grilled chicken sliced on it that was seriously seasoned perfectly. I really enjoyed the fresh, crisp apples sliced over the salad along with the creamy blue cheese crumbles, grapes, and candied pecans. Once I started eating it, I couldn't stop. I seriously ate my entire salad, and I wasn't even hungry. It was one of those meals that was better with every bite, and although I have been back a few times I just keep ordering the same thing. Everything was executed perfectly, which really made a huge difference. I was really impressed with my meal, and this place is worth every penny. My husband ordered the beef sandwich and he loved it every bit as I loved my salad. We will be going back. :)

I got the tri tip sandwich. Meat was delicious - tender and good flavor. Bun was awful - half hard, half semi soft, all falling apart. I had to just scrape the meat out of the bun and eat it with a fork. Fries were good, but not better than other places. No combo meals so you pay full price for everything. When my order was delivered to my table I found myself wondering where my $11 had gone. I could have spent $11 on lunch at a lot of other places and gotten more food that's just as good and I would have gotten a drink too. Good atmosphere. One out of two employees I talked to was nice and the other was not.

The atmosphere is causal and comfy. I have not tried anything I did not like. BUT This review is almost completely for the buffalo blue cheese fries. I crave them ALL of the time! They are so good. French Fries are my weakness and these ROCK MY LITTLE WORLD! Thank you Cubbys!

We just tried Cubby's Chicago Beef last night and it was amazing. I got the Original "Mr Beef" and although it was messy, it was very, very tasty. My husband got the Chicago dog which was "meh" but our friend ordered the Dragonslayer (blue cheese burger) and it was incredible! We all tried each other's food, and by far we loved that burger. Even my husband who doesn't like blue cheese thought it was fantastic. On top of that we also tried the sweet potato fries, rosemary pepper fries AND the blue cheese buffalo fries. All them were excellent in their own way. Of course with any sauce topped fries, they get a bit soggy after some time. The sweet potato fries were great, well-seasoned. And the rosemary pepper fries were so subtle they worked very well. I think rosemary can overpower tiny little fries like that, but they did a great job. Overall, our experience was wonderful - this is a great "pig out" spot in Provo if there ever was one.

Cubby's Tri-Tip Steak Salad is my favorite salad I've ever had. It's a unique blend of flavors and the steak is always perfectly tender and seasoned. I've ordered the tri-tip sandwich, but after trying the salad, it's all I get. The sandwich was great as well, just very messy. Cubby's has delicious food and with the recent expansion, great ambiance as well.

  • Riad S.

Had the Italian Beef and a Chicago Style Dog. I had my sandwich dipped, the way it should be. I did think the meat was over cooked and the sandwich not as spicy as it should be... The dog was disappointing. It was small, and missing the traditional makings of a Chicago style. I guess, it can't be perfect nor can it be like home... hence I can say I will check it out again when I have the urge for something like home... People behind the counter were real nice too... So, I will be back soon!

  • Daniel H.

"Really tasty! Great tri-tip. It was hard to decide whether the sweet potato fries or rosemary fries were better. Our group included a salad eater and even she was satisfied and impressed. Oh -- and whoopie pies! (Yes, they ARE soft.)"

  • Zach D.

During my viewing of the PBS documentary on the sandwich, I knew I had to get my hands on an Italian Beef. Alas, I have not made it to Chicago since I desired the Italian Beef, good thing I found Cubby's. This place is great. Sandwich was amazing, great beef, good bread and just juicy and spicy enough. Cool decor and ambiance and Cubby himself is there to make sure you enjoy things. I wish these guys the best and will be back for another Mr. Beef!

Great addition to the area. From the food to the sign to the atmosphere to Cubby himself, they are doing everything good so far. I've been there four times, and have tried the Chicago beef, the tri tip steak salad, the tri tip steak sandwich, the portabello sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was great. Both kinds of fries too. I would recommend just going for the staple Chicago beef the first time, and then just experimenting from there. Surprisingly, my favorite sandwich so far was the portabello mushroom sandwich. I wasn't missing the meat at all. As you can see, I eat meat, but I don't want to have to eat it every meal and I appreciate that Cubby's offers several tasty meatless options. Cubby and his staff have a good friendly service feel going too, which I hope they can keep up as they get more popular, which I'm betting they will. As one reviewer pointed out, prices are higher than average for a Provo lunch, but so is the quality of the ingredients.

Delicious. The whole family loved it. Everything on the menu is great. You will not be disappointed. Buffalo blue cheese fries are a must. Local, grass-fed beef: check. It's a win-win. Sandwiches are awesome. Salads are great and they feature some amazing dressings.

  • Angela B.

Tri tip sandwich was pretty good, Dragonslayer hamburger was pretty good. Sweet potato fries were terrible, bland and dry - management would not refund or replace with a different fry. Way too expensive for such casual fair - over $26 for two - beware!

  • Eric V.

This place is not a great place to go if you don't want the sandwich made the way they prefer, which is soaked in a watery vinegar "sauce" in a bun that falls apart instantly. I tried this place twice and both times requested my sandwich "dry" which apparently, to them, means "wet". The other dishes (salads, burgers) are just ok, and overpriced compared to comparable places. They cash in on their decor and instagram popularity I suppose, but there's very little meat on the actual bones of this place.

On a business trip and was looking for a good spot for a fresh meal. I found this very unassuming gem in Provo located in a strip mall. Tri Tip Steak Salad was very fresh and delicious. Looking forward to coming back and trying a sandwich!

Guys, I just had the best grilled cheese sandwich of my entire life! It had a lot of other things on it like tomato, avodado, spinach, and carmelized onions though, and usually grilled cheese implies just cheese or maybe 1 more item in it (just saying, not complaining by any means). It comes with bacon and I don't eat meat so I just had them leave it off. But in any case, it was amazing. I may even go so far as to say that it was the best grilled sandwich of my life, and I've had quite a few in my day. I'm interested to try their portobello mushroom sandwich and rosemary fries (..I hope I'm remembering correctly). Next time. Also, I love the wood decor and the fact that they don't use pennies. Yay Cubby's.

The rip city tri-tip is insane. Best tri tip sandwich I've had. Who knew I'd find it in Provo, Utah! Great service, very fresh ingredients and good prices for very high quality product. Will definitely go back next time in town. Highly recommended and a must try.

Was anxiously waiting for Cubby's to open and it did not disappoint! Food was better than anticipated and the atmosphere was great. Menu is diverse with something for everyone. My wife can't stop talking about the tri-tip steak salad and the buffalo blue cheese fries are amazing! Already been back 3 times. You definitely need to check it out!

My friend dragged me to this place because her boss thought it was pretty good. I was skeptical at first but happy to find out I had no reason to be. This place makes some delicious food. I ordered the tri tip sandwich Cali style with sweet BBQ sauce and it was the best steak sandwich I've ever had. The avocados were ripe, the steak was well seasoned, and the caramelized onions were actually correctly caramelized. The bread didn't get soggy and it had just the right amount of sauce. Normally steak sandwiches leave you with a heavy feeling but this one didn't. Great sandwich, worth the 10 bucks. They even give you hand wipes so you don't have to deal with sticky fingers. FYI the rosemary fries weren't anything special. You couldn't taste the rosemary. So don't come here for the fries and you'll leave happy.

LOVED Cubby's! Our service was fast & friendly. My questions about the menu were answered and the food was GREAT! I had the Tri-Tip Salad. One friend had the 3 Grilled Cheese which she loved and I think the other had the Original. We also shared sweet potato & rosemary fries which were great. We all loved it. I think the prices are fine - pretty comparable. I'll be back with the husband. He will love it.

I joined just to write this review: Cubby's is easily one of the best places I've ever eaten. I have yet to try something that wasn't excellent. The quality of the food is second to none and the quality of the staff is equally good. Thus far I've had the Tri tip steak sandwich, the Italian beef, the Chicago dog, the dragon slayer burger, and the mixed berry salad. All of which were fantastic. I do think the beef dog could be improved upon but there are other places in Provo for that. Otherwise don't be shy about trying something new, I'm sure you'll love it!

Had the original Mr. Beef, wet. The best roast beef sandwich I've ever had. And the buffalo fries are out of this world. Topped with buffalo sauce and melted blue cheese. Can't wait to come back next time we are in town. Great find. The manager is super friendly and helpful to suggest foods that fit your taste. I tried several other items the rest of my family ordered. All were very good.

Got the Tri-Tip sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce and fries and it was some good eating. My wife got a salad and she said it was fresh and delicious. All in all it was good food. A little pricy but not bad for a once in awhile sandwich treat.

  • Luke A.

This lived up to all the hype. I had the tri-tip sandwich, which I'm usually hesitant to get because of poor meat, but this was the exception. Loved it. Meat was fantastic. No pieces with fat on them. Meat was tender and flavorful. Chatted with Cubby himself who was very friendly. Next time I eat down in Provo I know where to go!

We stopped by here after hiking the Y. We got the grilled cheese and the dragonslayer burger, which were both incredible. I love anything with blue cheese, and they infuse the burger with it before it's even grilled. Awesome!

  • Kathleen J.

Man, ignore the hater below... If you want it wet, you've got to order it wet! The meat was cooked perfectly...nice and juicy with a ton of flavor. The buffalo fries are sinfully tasty...and top everything off with a bad ass kat cookie and your taste buds will be leaping for joy. The food is fresh, the service is real and it's all straight from the farm to your belly... Even the chicago restaraunts can't compete with that! I'm a chicago native and I've had some realllly good italian beef... but Cubby's tops the list! Provo has been blessed...come to Salt Lake!!

  • Ian N.

This place is fantastic. The Tri Tip Sandwich was to die for. Had the buffalo fries as well. Everything was very fresh, including the bread. I thought the price was right as well. Great food for what you pay - they definitely take care in crafting a fine sandwich!

I've been back to Cubby's a few more times since my first review and I just can't bump them up to 5 stars. I've tried some other items on the their menu and it's all been great, but it was my most recent visit that really forced me to keep the extra star. We were getting together with some friends so I took it as an opportunity to introduce everyone to one of my favorite spots - Cubby's. It was a Saturday night, and moderately busy. Unfortunately, though there were only a couple people in line in front of us, it took over 20 minutes just to get to the register. This was the first time I have visited that Cubby himself wasn't slinging the beefs and it seemed like the wheels feel off. The two employees just couldn't handle the place. Besides the brutally long wait just to place our order, it took an exceptionally long time (over 20 minutes again) to get our food and when it came there were multiple missteps. I ordered my beef hot and wet, and it came neither hot nor wet with only a couple small pieces of the giardiniera, and the normally juicy, flavorful beef was bone dry. Two other people in my group had errors on their orders as well (asking for additional toppings, or leaving toppings off.) I will be back, as I have seen Cubby's deliver, but I am disappointed because for the 6 people I brought with me- they just didn't feel the magic.

In town on business. My co-worker and I were just looking for a good sandwich and heard about this place. After reading the Yelp reviews we decided to check it out. Located in a strip mall and currently undergoing renovations (expanding the dining space) the place doesn't get huge points for atmosphere. But not many good sandwich places do and personally it isn't what I'm expecting in such a place anyhow. I like a good hole in the wall, you often find outstanding food in such places. They had the World Series on a couple of TV's and it was a laid back atmosphere. We both ordered the tri-tip sandwich. I got the sweet potato fries with chipotle dipping sauce and my co-worker got the rosemary fries. The sandwiches were great. Smothered in a sweet barbeque sauce, cooked onions and smokey bacon on a nice fresh sandwich roll with just the right amount of beef on it. It does make a bit of a mess but nothing major. Note: There are spicy and a couple of other sauce options also. The sweet potato fries were also great, the were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, cooked just right in my opinion. The chiptole dipping sauce is the way to go if you don't mind a little kick (not a lot, but enough to feel it). There were about five or six dipping sauces to choose from but I can't recall them all. If we are ever back in this part of the country, we'll be sure to check out Cubby's again. Good experience.

We went here when visiting Utah last week. Wow! First the decor is amazing. No first the organic, grass fed, free range, FRESH food was uh-mazing. I mean what kind of place serves a giant juicy buger (Dragonslayer) that my husband loved and quinoa and salad (beet and goat cheese salad) for his wife, all being organic? The owner was there and was so friendly. We got the sweet potato fries too, yum. I can't wait to go back again one day!

    (5)
  • Taylor W.

This is a pretty decent place. The sandwiches are made with high quality beef and great bread. Sandwiches are a good price, and you get a ton of fries. I thought the rosemary pepper fries need a little more rosemary and pepper. That could be just me though.

  • Alissa L.

So. Good. I was driving through Provo my family and we stopped here based on the yelp reviews. This please is great! Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and absolutely amazing food! The buffalo bleu cheese fries are to die for, and the rosemary fries are killer (and huge portions!). Yummy fry sauces to choose from as well! All of us loved our burgers and only wished that we had more time to try he other menu items!

    (5)
  • Nathan S.

Eh, I think Cubby's is good, but doesn't meet up to all the hype around it. Their menu items are a bit more expensive than I think matches the actual quality of the food, but my guess is they are using fresh ingredients which drives up costs. So while fresh ingredients are great, I wish their food would be a bit more memorable. I will say though that I do enjoy their Tri-Tip sandwich, and they have a great chipotle fry sauce. Atmosphere is clean and rustic at the Provo location. It is more modern at the Spanish Fork location.

  • JD M.

Rule number one of a "burger joint"...is to never serve a burger cooked over medium. The default at this place appears to be well done. It was consistent across the table. Maybe Provo doesn't know any better? Sadly, this place, that has "the look" and some potential, pretty much kills it by serving overcooked, dry burger patties. A cardinal sin.

I have had this place bookmarked in Yelp for a while now based on all the rave reviews. I don't make it south of the point very often but found myself down that way for a conference and was excited to try Cubby's. Got there around 1:30-2:00 in the afternoon and was surprised that I was able to walk straight to the counter to order. I found out later I just got lucky because the line grew quickly soon after I ordered. I ordered the tri-tip without onions and a side of Mac-n-cheese. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The sandwich was big considering it was just the regular; glad I didn't get the "Big Dog". I dived into the sandwich as was surprised to find the trip tip wasn't tender, it was chewy. I was getting a strange crunch that had me worried until I realized it was the bacon. The sandwich was slathered in a sweet BBQ sauce which was ok. As I mentioned before I was glad I got the regular size, now I was really glad because I didn't want to eat the quantity I received. The Mac-n-Cheese was ok, it wasn't very hot and it was on the dry side and flavor was just all right. Based on this experience I should probably not go back again but I will give them another try when I am in the area again. I will avoid the tri-tip in favor of an Italian beef or a burger and hope for a better outcome.

I have been here a couple times now. I have tried the tri tip sandwich (as recommended by the cashier) and the Mr. beef. I really preferred the Mr. Beef dipped. It's pure Chicago and it's a must at least once. Good style and another option on the list of worthwhile restaurants in the area.

I don't know how organic or local Tyson/Sysco are, but they still have good food. I had a burger tasted great and not super greasy. If there was a some what healthy burger this place would probably be close to it. Tyson meat though is far from local and I actually thought they were from Arizona not Chicago.

  • Paris A.

Cool atmosphere, nice staff, and of course amazing food. I have celiac disease and have always been so grateful for how well the staff is educated on what is and isn't gluten free. And the gluten free bread for the sandwiches is great! The salads are great too but my favorite part about cubbys is definitely their smoky fries (the bbq/buffalo mix). They are TO DIE FOR.

  • Jeff H.

I've eaten at Cubby's a few times now, and each time I have had the same experience. It just isn't as good as I want it to be. I've had Chicago beef in Chicago and the equivalent style when I lived in New Jersey. There's one major difference between what Cubby's is serving and the places doing it for real (meaning actual Italian delis in big cities): proper marination. Cubby's either isn't marinating the way you're supposed to...or at all. Each and every time I've had the same basic Italian beef sandwich it tastes like an un-marinated steak sandwich. Sure, they slice it thin. Yes, it seems like decent meat. But it just doesn't add up to what is supposed to be a sublime experience...and it tastes a LOT like I bought a steak at Smith's and cooked it. Also, their gardiniera is okay (not great), but my god get it on the side. Cubby's sandwiches come dripping in oil. That ain't how you dress an Italian beef sandwich--drain before application.

Wait...what? WHAT??? I looked up reviews on Yelp before picking Cubby's for lunch while visiting Provo. Pretty good reviews so I was expecting something...pretty good. Ya...pretty disappointed. 1. Parking is atrocious. Even getting into the place was quiet difficult. 2. The seating is very limited and small. We lucked out and found a spot. But if you like any sort of privacy...you're not getting it here. You better be very personal to feel comfortable here. 3. Standing in line to order. There is a very small space to stand and you can't see the menu until you are right up close to it which is right next to the cashier so you have about one minute to read all of the long descriptions of burgers, sandwiches and salads. 4. After reading all of the long descriptions and thinking that the menu items must be so incredible that they are worthy of their extreme pricey-ness...you are finally served the food only to be really disappointed. REALLY disappointed. 5. Mac and cheese...supposedly 3 cheese...except...we could not detect any cheese. Maybe three slivers of cheese? Totally bland. Too nasty to eat. Except if you are starving...truly starving, maybe. Kids nearly 6 dollar hamburger combos. (T-rex meals). Save your money. Bye them a dollar burger at one of the fast food chains. They are bigger and tastier and much cheaper. The tri-tip sandwich with bbq mustard. Way more bread than meat. Sauce was pretty heavy so it was difficult to try to enjoy the little meat there was. Nothing at all really good. :( Gypsy burger, (special)...I'm thinking with my second bite..."This sucks. It's not anything special at all!" :( Buffalo, blue cheese fries....O.k. now hold the horses. These were great! Well, sort of. The two sauces they put on were ice cold which sort of ruined the fries. Especially since the fries were only room temp. Had the fries been hot and the sauces room temp...they would have been EXCELLENT! But no...the one redeeming quality of this place...down the toilet because of extreme temperature differences. :( When we left, kids were still hungry since their T-Rex combos were so small, adults felt jipped, and we all looked longingly at the Chic-fil-et and Sonic in the same shared parking lot. If that doesn't speak volumes... Sorry Cubby's. You are not worth the money or time.

I AM ROUNDING UP! this is really a 3.6. YELP get freaking half stars in the name of ZOD. sorry about the caps. The tri tip sandwich was delicious the sweet and spicy sauce really was delicious, and the chicken sandwich also delicious. The tri tip has grilled onion and bacon added, oh it was so very tasty but a 9 incher cost me 9 bucks boo. I ordered three of the four sides, especially for YELP. The rosemary fries I think are store bought , deep fried and sprinkled with green flakes of something (not drugs). The sweet potato fries are crinkle fries... once again store bought and sprinkled with white flakes (not drugs). Those two were a huge disappointment to me. Now the Mac N Cheese was divine. very cheesy and the noodles were soft and everything just was a perfect creamy mix of heaven and it wasn't overpriced. Get it! (My second visit the mac n cheese had changed, sub par) Definitely a place to hit up when you have a chance, just order wisely. The fries are not worth it in my opinion.

Foodie paradise! Carnivores will think they've found beef heaven. And vegetarians will be pleased with the amazing salads and delectable Mac & Cheese. Cubby's Chicago Beef is amazing. Sure, the exterior & location aren't high-end. But the moment I tasted my tri-tip sandwich (with the mind-blowing mustard BBQ sauce) nothing about the strip-mall location mattered anymore! We ate there right before a football game. It was busy, but the line to order moved quickly. And we had a very short wait for our food. I'm telling you, at this restaurant they have everything down to an art! I already mentioned my delicious tri-tip sandwich. My husband had the Houdini Burger that was, quite possibly, the best thing about our order! It was all good, though! Every. Single. Bite. The rosemary/pepper fries? Perfectly cooked & seasoned. My daughter scarfed down her creamy macaroni & cheese. And my son ate his entire hot dog, & asked for more. Of course. The Cubby's kids meals also included a juice box & a cup of fresh fruit. We all shared a soft rice Krispy treat for dessert. Yum! I did have to laugh about one thing... A door, or two down from Cubby's is a Little Caesars pizza. Both on our way in, and out of Cubby's there were families sitting on the patio with Cubby's entrees for the adults, & Little Caesars pizza's for their kids. I thought that the prices at Cubby's were more than reasonable! It made no sense to me, to feed kids lackluster pizza, when there was such amazing food to be had at Cubby's?! For crying in the night, fellow parents! Don't give your kids garbage to dine on, when there's affordable gourmet to be had! Small rant, aside. Cubby's is a place I would (and probably will) drive hours out of my way to patronize.

Still a solid 4 stars! I love it when owners read reviews and interact for good or bad. Yay! Food is still delicious and can't wait to try more menu items. It makes the trek into Utah County more tolerable. I have shunned sweet potato anything since it is so difficult to do right but Cubby's crinkle cut sweet potato fries are great especially if you ask them to fry them longer to make them crispy. I've had the DragonSlayer and TriTip, what should I try next Mr. Cubby? I need to revisit the Mac n Cheese and see if it got cheesier.

Cubby's is great! If you like original flavors, good portion sizes and a social ambiance, cubby's is where you should eat. I bought a cubby's hat last time I was there too! If I'm hungry and near bulldog blvd. in Provo, chances are are I'm stopping at cubby's.

Cubby's... you're breaking my heart. I have loved you since the day you opened and I sauntered in with my buddy Leland. I have been a devoted Cubby's missionary since then, even when people have had a rough visit here and there. I go through phases... for a while it was a dragonslayer and rosemary fries every time. Recently, I've been loving on the beet salad with steak added. I get the walnuts switched out for pecans because I'm allergic to walnuts. They won't kill me, but they give me a headache and make my throat and skin itch - not a pleasant experience. On my last visit, my salad came without the steak I added and paid for. I hate being "that person," partially because it's annoying and partially because I'm an introvert but I'm a hungry girl so back to the counter I went. They apologized and added the meat. NBD. I dove into my salad and a few bites in my throat started to itch. Upon closer inspection, I saw that there were walnuts in it. Back I went again (reluctantly) because I didn't want a headache and a case of the itches for the next few hours. They were very apologetic and offered me a free dessert - a bit frustrating, but a classy enough response. Today I went in again, confident that I'd had a weird fluke of bad luck. As I was ordering, I noticed that they charged me $3 for the extra meat on the salad rather than the $2 quoted on both displayed chalk menus in the restaurant. When I pointed it out, the cashier deferred to someone who appeared to be the manager who then stated that "the menu was old." And then walked away. Not classy. It kills me, because this is one of my last meals in the state and I chose to come here because I love it so much. Combined with my last experience, I wasn't impressed. I really hope that they can figure out their customer service/staff training a bit better so I can recommend it without hesitation again.

Hard to find, but once you find it ... I took my nephew there to eat when I was in town, and he got a burger (which was on the smaller side) which he loved, I got a tri tip sandwich (which was really tasty) and we split a tri tip salad, which was a taste bud explosion, too. The tri tip on the sandwich and salad were different so it was great to have both! I'll definitely be back.

Cubby's is amazing. The Houdini burger is one of the best I've ever had. The meat is juicy and delicious (ask for it done medium and your taste buds will thank you) and all of the topics and the garlic aioli come together to create something magical. Fries (both regular and sweet potato) are also great. I've tried several other items and they've been pretty good. I love the tri-tip salad. I'm not too fond of the beef dip, but that's not usually one of my favorites. My wife had the grilled cheese once which wasn't really a grilled cheese (more like a BLT) and wasn't quite what we expected. But Provo needs more places like this rather than chains and that Houdini burger is just heavenly so this place deserves 5 stars.

We get cubby's catered for work and the houdini burger has been my favorite. I have been into the restaurant once to get lunch, but I just hate the location. The restaurant seemed cramped. They should have been the ones to move into the restaurant at the village at south campus, because I don't plan on going to the sodalicious thats there now, too often. I think with their model of using local meat, and the chalkboard design they have already adopted, I'm serious they would do so well at the village. Their sweet potato fries are the bomb.com LOL :)

Yes, it's exactly what I had hoped for in a college town. Cubby's delivers the goods with their original and Tri-tip. Their sandwiches are incredible. They're worth the stop from wherever you're at in Utah. I've been to Chicago and had similar beef sandwiches in the area but Cubby's hits the spot and tops them, most of them at least. I can only hope to come back for a football game so I can get more Tri-tip from Cubby's. Get your sandwich with the delicious mustard BBQ sauce. Oh yeah. They have the best fries I've had in awhile. The rosemary peppered French fries were amazing. I usually need ketchup with my fries because I don't really like fries but I didn't need ketchup here. No ketchup needed because the fries spoke for itself.

Not only are you paying for the most delicious food, it is locally grown, organic, fresh ingredients that are prepared in every meal. The atmosphere is great, the food is prepared fast, and the customer service has always been courteous. I recommend the Houdin burgeri, tri tip steak salad, and of course the sweet potato fries!!!

Great food. Awesome flavors. My only criticism are the shoestring French fries. They get cold too quick and are not substantive.

I salivate when I think of Cubby's Tri Tip Steak Sandwich. It is heaven in the form of food. Sincerely. I get it with Sweet Sauce, no onions, and Bacon Bleu added. MY hub gets the caramelized onions and the hot sauce. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with whatever combination you decide to get. They have AMAZING beef. Delicious soft cookies, and really great sweet potato fries. It's all just way too good to be passed up. Any time any one comes to Provo/Lehi area from out of town, asking for a restaurant recommendation, I immediately send them to Cubby's. No questions asked. Well, no questions asked after asking them if they like MEAT. Because, holy hannah, this is the place for meat. For the two of us, with all the above mentioned goodness, and a soda, we usually spend around $30 for a meal here. Totally absolutely, incredibly worth it. YUM.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think this place is just okay. I keep hearing how great the tri-tip sandwich is, how it's their best seller and best thing on the menu, but to me, it's pretty average. The meat, while reasonably tender, never wows me; the flavor seems to come from the sauce but little comes from the actual meat or how it is prepared, which is disappointing. Not only that, I always seem to have that occasional bite where it's much too grisly to bite through, leaving me with the unenviable task of pulling it out of my mouth and discarding it into a napkin, which is a real turn off. On top of that (or should I say below), lies the bun, which is pretty average too; it's way too bready for my liking. For a sandwich like this, the bun should either compliment the meat, or be so meaningless that you hardly notice it, like a utensil used to transfer the meat from one's plate to one's mouth. However, the bun they use is a lot more substantial than it needs to be and after taking a large bite of the meat you're still left with a sold inch of bun to work through on the bottom. It's soft and all, but it's more bread than I want, quite frankly. I really liked the fries and fry sauce, and the space is cool enough (I liked the wood benches that lined the walls). And perhaps this review is coming across a little negative for me awarding it three stars. I guess I just feel as though I need to justify my average rating considering it is rated so highly. Yes, this place is better than it is not, but certainly not by a mile.

Their food is good. I think their seasoned fries are a unique idea but it's a little overpriced. That is my only qualm about this place.

Food: B All their meat is free range chicken and beef, or so I was told by my vegetarian friend who I saw there. The guy at the register told me the Tri-tip sandwich and the DragonSlayer sandwich were the most popular. I ate half of each of those sandwiches and thought that both of them were tasty, but it's not real filling...seriously it's not. Also, the sweet potato fries were just average. Price: C- Over $10 per person for a sandwich and fries, I had half of both the DragonSlayer and Tri-tip sandwich, both were tasty, but not really filling. It was kinda disappointing. Ambiance: B TVs are everywhere you look, so if you want to watch a game, this would be a great spot to eat. Eating around dinner time was super crowded. It's a first come first serve seating situation, so someone has to save your spot while you are waiting in line for about 20-25 minutes. Once I got to the front of line, you are kinda rushed through the ordering process. I wish we had a waiter, it would make it more pleasant. So overall it's crowded and might need to move to a more spacious location, but the TVs are a nice touch. Parking: C The parking lot IS a dog fight (at least around lunch and dinner time), that is if you want to park close to the entrance, but there is tons of parking in the massive Macey's/Big Lots parking lot if you want to avoid the fight and park farther away. Conclusion: B- I feel like there's a lot of Provo hype going on with this place. I admit that it's a unique place, but there are a lot of BBQ and sandwich/burger places that taste better and fill you up for under $10 per person.

Why, oh why isn't Cubby's located in Logan, Utah? It seems like such a cruel trick of fate that if I ever want to enjoy this transcendental experience ever again, I must drive four hours round trip. Perhaps I'll simply transfer to BYU. The tri-tip sandwich with sweet barbecue sauce is fantastic. I'm still thinking about it four days later. It's about six inches long and packed with meat, then drizzled with sauce. Excellent ratios all around. The most incredible part of our meal, however, were the blue cheese buffalo fries. Grab a fork and a napkin, because it's sloppy going, but --- just for a few minutes -- you'll find nirvana. So, so, so wonderful. Although I'd likely return even if they jacked up their prices, one of the best parts of Cubby's is that it's affordable! The service was great, and the atmosphere was, too. I'll be back at the soonest opportunity.

I wanted so bad to give Cubby's 4 stars but I just couldn't justify it. Here is my breakdown and my explanation for who I recommend should eat here and would really love it and why I gave it 3 stars: If are deciding whether or not to eat here, ask yourself which group you fall under: a. If you only eat free-range, antibiotic and hormone free meet, local, fresh, and organic ingredients, you'll really love this place, and you won't care so much about the price you're paying because that's around what you're used to. The quality is there and it tastes great. You are more about quality over quantity and this is for you. b. If you are a hungry man (or woman for that matter), this place will not leave you feeling satisfied and you will most likely need to eat again soon. This is not for you unless you fall in the category above :) c. If you are more about bang-for-your-buck, quantity over quality, and like to leave full and still take home leftovers, this place is not for you. Portions are small and expensive. Here is my explanation of the food and pricing: Taste of Sandwiches -5 stars: I tried half of a Tri Tip and half of the Dragonslayer sandwich, the two which were recommended to us. I thought the Tri Tip was just okay, but the Dragonslayer was very delicious, I was surprised at the flavors in that sandwich. The meat was good, I liked that they used spinach, and there were some great flavors. Amount of Food -2 stars: The large Tri Tip was a 6 inch sandwich for about $8. It did not have anything on it but meat and sauce. If I wanted any extra toppings it would cost an additional $1. The Dragonslayer was on some sort of hamburger bun but sadly a lot smaller than the average hamburger, for about $7. I also ordered sweet potato fries which were about $3. The fries were thin, had too much crunch, not enough potato, and not enough flavor. Price -2 stars: some people look at this restaurant and think, " $20 for two people, that's great for a meal! ". and yeah it does sound like a great price. The reason I rated it down for the price is because you will not be full when you're finished. I was the smallest person in our group and I had the bigger Tri Tip (while the men had the smaller Dragonslayers) and even I walked away hungry. No one in our group was impressed with the portion sizes and we age again 2 hours later... Quality -4-5 stars: It seems that the food is good quality, I like that they use free range beef, the flavors are great, etc. Here is the rest of my breakdown with explanations: Location -4.5 stars: close to BYU and UVU for all those hungry students. I took a little off because they share a parking lot and we had to walk a bit just to get inside. Ambiance -5 stars: this really is a cool place to go eat with a group of friends. Its kind of western, with some modern touches. I love the order holders they give you, a metal bull with your order number, very creative. TVs for the guys to watch sports. Seating -3 stars: The restaurant is spread over two rooms and during the morning or early evening hours, I suspect there is plenty of seating. We went for dinner on Friday night, and we had to have two people in our group wait for and save a table while the rest of us ordered for ourselves and them. This wasn't too big of a deal since the line took at least 20 minutes to get through anyway -realistically this is lower than the average wait for any restaurant on a Friday night, however, we were not seated and had to scramble to find our own seats for our 7 person group. Staff -5 stars: Very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and helpful when answering our questions about certain menu items. Overall, I loved the taste of one of the sandwiches I had. However, I'm a woman and even I left feeling hungry. I'm used to leaving restaurants priced like this, with at least one more meals- worth of leftovers. For some, this restaurant is golden, but most people aren't that picky about eating free-range meat and organic produce, so I don't recommend this restaurant to the general public who are eating out to fill a hungry belly. Props to Cubby's though for having a restaurant that caters to healthy eating.

I really enjoyed this place. We came on a busy weekend evening, right during the dinner hour, and it was packed. Surprisingly, the line moved pretty quickly, and didn't seem to bother me much. Perhaps I was soothed by the creative decor, and the up-tempo atmosphere. Once you order, you find a place to sit, and they bring the food out to you. Even with it being so busy, we found seating at the window, which was still comfy. Yet another surprise. Food was good too. I loved the sweet potato fries, like everyone else, apparently. The tri-tip sandwich was especially good, but everything else looked pretty good too. We will be coming back.

Just checking in to let everyone know that Cubby's has most assuredly withstood the test of time. We continue to come here and actually I think it has improved over time--which is saying a LOT for any restaurant. The consistency is there, the space is bigger since expanding so seating is ample, and the service is quick and efficient. Keep up the great work!

I am always looking for a great new place to get a hamburger. We were in Provo for the beehive bazaar and, after seeing the glowing reviews, decided to give Cubby's a try. For me, all a hamburger needs is a big juicy burger and a great bun and I am happy. The rest of the toppings and condiments are just gravy. The bun was really good and the toppings were great...but the most important part was not impressive. The hamburger patty on my sandwich AND my brother's sandwich were both really dry and shrunken down. There was no fat and no flavor. Just super dense and chewy. For 10 bucks (including fries and a drink) this burger needs to come out amazing every time. I agree with another reviewer about the thin cut fries--if they are fresh, they taste amazing, but they cool off really quickly. It almost seems like some places on yelp get a free pass if they are hipster and trendy, but there are more important things than that (like really good food!) The menu looked great and maybe if I am in Provo again I will give it a second chance, but I wasn't super impressed after my first visit.

This place is quite the hidden gem of Provo. Serving a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and salads, they offer several types of options for meat lovers. Yes, just to clarify, they also put the same fresh and quality meats in their salads. If you're looking for a sandwich or burger (or again, a salad for that matter) that doesn't taste like its got cheap meat that's been sitting frozen for years and then thrown into a microwave, later to be tossed under a heat lamp for hours (IE if you want something that's more local and fresh tasting), then you'll be more than happy with what they serve up here. The beef and chicken here were indeed fresh tasting and delightful. I must say, not only was the food tasty, but it was served swiftly as well. As for the pricing, I wouldn't call it cheap but it was indeed fairly priced. For two people that got individual entrees/drinks and one small fry to share, it ended up costing just over twenty bucks. While it wasn't quite as cheap as I was originally hoping for, it was still well worth the ticket and I'll surely be coming back soon! As for the decor and ambience of the establishment, I would describe it has a Mid-Western styling mixed with a minimalist approach, with a sprinkle of modernism. In other words, you'll find most of the place covered in tarnished wood planks with spanning blackboards that have been decorated with a beautifully handwritten menu and logo, as well as find a few muted with subtitles flat screen TVs scattered around covering both sports and news channels.

The only real huge issue that I have with Cubby's is the parking situation. That parking lot is a nightmare. Between all of the stores and restaurants that share the space, and the cramped space, you have to be very vigilant to avoid getting t-boned or backed into. That being said, everything else about Cubby's is good. The sandwiches are great, the fries are delightful, and the restaurant is a clean space with a fun atmosphere. Cubby's makes delicious meat sandwiches made with assorted types of meats and toppings. Just as a warning, they are a little messy, so if you're going on a first date with a high maintenance girl, Cubby's might not be the place to go. The pricing is reasonable, but if you're looking for bargain food then stop by the McDonalds or Taco Bell that you'll pass on your way there. This is quality food and you get what you pay for.

I have been here and ordered many times. I absolutely love the food. My office orders from here and spends a large amount of money and still the customer service has never changed. It is TERRIBLE. They have forgotten things without apology. It makes me sad since the food is great.

It's a good sandwich. I got the tri-tip and it definitely has a special zing to it that would be difficult to replicate at home. Special flavor! BE ADVISED...the Rosemary fries are a no-go. I'm a fan of soft fries, but these were just mushy and unappetizing.

I can see why this place has potential. But, I can only speak of my experience. Overall, the customer service was mediocre and the food was just okay. Our meals averaged about $13/person for lunch with a shared fry. I had the beet salad with added tri tip, shared bleu cheese buffalo fries, and I had a soda. I ordered the beet salad with added tri-tip. They delivered my salad without the tri-tip. When I asked to correct it the serve said, "well you didn't PAY for trip-tip." He was likely correct but I ordered it and they missed it on the order. I ordered as part of a group and the person taking the order didn't repeat it back. They agreed to add the meat if I would pay the difference. I paid the extra, whatever. The beet salad was unmemorable at best. Good mix of lettuce and arugula, but very few beets and an unnoticeable amount of goat cheese. The added tri-tip was okay, but not anything unique. Definitely not something to repeat. Our table ordered the buffalo bleu fries. The fries were awful. For frozen fries they were not good. If they were fresh fries (I doubt they were) then they really missed the mark. The unique flavoring had potential as described on the menu, but was poorly executed and shouldn't be passed off as a $4 side order. They basically dumped on buffalo wing sauce and bleu cheese dressing. Soda had crushed ice. I like crushed ice. Well done there. In summary, customer service maybe gets the job done but their indifference to the "customer experience" was noticeable and will be a hurdle for me to ever return. The food I had was not great and I will never order any of the items I tried again. I hear the sandwiches are good. Stick to those and you might have an okay experience.

Before Cubby's I never had eaten at a restaurant and then come back the next day because I really wanted to sample more of their menu. The reason I love the food so much is the quality. One menu item won't fill you up. I could probably go for a jog after eating here because the food is satisfying yet light. Cubby's is what several local burger/salad joints have attempted to become. This place tops my list of must-trys in Provo.

OK, my first experience at Cubby's was kind of "womp-womp,"but I'm glad I've gone back because it's so good! Everyone recommended getting their Chicago beef sandwich, which has carrots and other vegetables that if you ask me, don't belong on a sandwich. But when I went back, I got the steak salad and it almost blew my mind. Also the Rosemary fries are all the race for a reason. Fun atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

Cubby's is great restaurant, I tried the tri tip sandwich and the "dragonslayer" Angus burger and both were incredible! Full flavor, the tri tip was smoky, nice and sweet with a hint of spicy in the sauce. The burger was really good as well, so tender and wasn't smothered in sauces or condiments. Like others have said, this place has great meat! The sweet potatoe fries were really great as well, definitely give them a try! TL;DR Meat lovers unite! Try the sweet potatoe fries ;)

Life generally consists of me treating my body terribly. Skipping breakfast, 2 or 3 dr. Peppers per day, then finishing off the day by smashing a carton of tillamook ice cream. Obviously I eat and stuff between that --but you get the general idea: if my body could talk, its vocabulary would mostly be comprised of swear words. Anyway, this all changes when I go to cubby's; me and my stomach are instant BFF's. I get the tri-tip salad with the bleu cheese buffalo fries. I've had some other stuff there but the salad is the real deal. If you're a regular human, you understand that choosing a salad at a restaurant is a huge risk. TAKE THIS RISK and rekindle that lost flame between u and ur digestive system --figuratively speaking.

  • Jason S.

I wanted to love it given all of the positive reviews, the nice decor, and the long lines of people. But it didn't meet my expectations. I ordered the large Tri-tip sandwhich and the rosemary fries. For $10 I wanted a bigger portion and more flavor. It's a unique place with a unique twist but nothing unique enough flavor to bring me back.

I love meat and I love BBQ and tri tip. Glad it is now more prevalent in Utah than it historically has been. A delicious, cheap cut. All that said, I ordered the tri tip sandwich, which was decent, but nothing special. Overall, the environment is good and there are always people but the food is nothing more than mediocre. I may or may not return to give it a second chance...

Very yummy sandwiches. I am a sandwich lover and these definitely don't disappoint. I thought they were a bit expensive for us. My husband left still a bit hungry after his sandwich. The tri-tip was super and the sweet potato fries were great.

This place is fantastic lunch place. It's very unique to Provo. You walk up to the counter to order. The line was pretty long at 12 pm, but it went quick. It only got longer as the lunch hour went on. It just goes to show how popular this place is. They do have salads, but they are known for their beef sandwiches. I had a tri-tip sandwich accompanied by 1/2 sweet potato fries, and 1/2 rosemary peppered fries. They were both amazing. I would choose the sweet potato fries over the rosemary. The beef was fresh, tender, and tasty. It was such a good sandwich. Not too greasy at all. Their spicy BBQ is equally sweet. I really enjoyed it. I got a butter pecan whoopie pie for dessert - it was soo good. The place is really casual and kind of rustic. The decor really works for them. The front of the house was very clean. You can see the food cooking and the grill area looked very clean, too. It has a couple of TV's in the dining area. It's a pretty small place. I would come early if I had a group of 4 or more. The staff was polite. One thing I did notice was that there were maybe 6 guys on staff when I was there at lunchtime. I didn't see a single female employee. I thought this was very strange seeing that the population is about 50/50. I'll check out the demographics when I come back again. I will definitely be back.

I originally gave this place a four out of five and now I'm good with giving them a 5 after partaking the Dragonslayer burger. That was very good. In fact, I ordered another burger to eat after the first.

I keep going around trying to find a sandwich that can hold a candle to Cubby's burgers, but it is a hard thing to do. This restaurant is seriously amazing. Personal favorites are the Houdini and the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese. The mixture of savory beef with vegetables, sauces, and seasonings makes for a heavenly experience. I order the rosemary fries every time. They're the best in town. They also surprised me with their salads. Normally I'm not a salad eater, but the salads at Cubby's are delicious! And huge. Kudos to anyone who can finish one! Few restaurants fill me with an evangelical zeal to share with friends and family -- but this place does. I recommend it to anyone living in the Provo area!

I go to Cubby's just about every Friday with my closest friends. It is so good that we don't want to go anywhere else. It is amazing. I have a friend that gets the Dragonslayer burger with sweet potato fries with that chipotle sauce every time we go in. As for me, I like a little variety, but I will list my favorites: Tri tip salad, Cockadoodledoo, Dragonslayer, Houdini, and Mr. Beef. I get the sweet potato fries EVERY time. Soooo good. I love this place. Definitely my favorite if I am in the mood for beef.

I love everything I've ordered here, my favorite is the Dragonslayer and the buffalo fries. The meats are high quality meats with actual flavor, the burger is the most flavorful burger I've ever had rather than the bland gray slabs of meat that you might get at other burger joints. Huge fan and I love that they are committed to good quality, grass-fed local meats.

Its places like this that make me both happy and sad about roadtripping. On the one hand, you get to experience places all over the map that you would ordinarily maybe not visit, and on the other, knowing you wont be back for awhile really sucks when you find something you like! We're driving through on our way up to park city and decided to find a quick place to get some quality food and Cubbys hit both marks with perfection. We ordered a tri tip salad, lemon chicken parmesan salad, tri tip sandwich with mustard bbq, the original, and the rosemary as well as sweet potato fries. Everything was exceptional and the tri tip was so tender! I felt like the portions were perfect and overall our group was more than satisfied. The staff was incredibly friendly! Would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for quality free range meats and overall delicious food. Good job Cubby's.

I gave it a second try and I still am not a fan of Cubby's. Why 4 stars? It's probably not fair for me to maintain my original 2-star rating just because I'm not feeling the flavor of this place. I really respect establishments that make a concerted effort to prepare quality food with quality ingredients. That's what's going on here. Again, the women in the group had salads, which they loved. The salads looked nice and they looked fresh. Instead of the tri-tip sandwich I had last time, I ordered a burger this time. However, I just wasn't feeling it. The ingredients were all excellent. Me and the flavor just don't get along. It tasted like a higher-quality beef, but it was a bit undercooked for my taste. My fault for not specifying "well-done". My son had the tri-tip sandwich, the same I ordered last time. Meat was marbled, same as last time. It's fair to say that I'm picky about meat. I don't eat fatty or marbled meat. That's not to say this meat was overly marbled or in someway inedible. I'm sure most people don't notice or mind. The bottom line: I would hate to give anyone the impression that this place is not good or poor quality. Obviously lots of people like it. The ingredients have never disappointed, quality-wise (except the tri-tip). The women always love their salads. Cubby's is just not for me. (Thanks to Cubby for responding to my last critical post. It's a much better establishment than the average - no question about that. It's obvious you guys are trying to make great food with good, fresh ingredients. It seems to be working. Best of luck.)

I had the Three Cheese Grilled Cheese and Rosemary fries. Both were really delicious. Probably the best grilled cheese I have ever had. Minus one star for the cashier who gave us attitude. The food though, is delicious!! If you love Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, you will love Cubby's Chicago Beef! I had the original beef sandwich. You can choose how much sauce you want- dry, wet, dipped. I chose.. wet cuz I like it wet. For spiciness level, you can choose girl, boy, man. I chose boy because I like boys. The beef sandwich comes with vegetables as well, a little carrot and celery. The beef was delicious. The beef was so juicy it made my bread a little soggy so you better eat it quickly! You gotta get the sweet potato fries with fry sauce. Those were delicious! I also tried the snicker doodle sandwich, which was decent. Now let's talk about the cashier. She looked at us and said... the food was really healthy (while we were staring at our greasy food). She also gave my order to my friend and my friend's food to me, which caused some confusion. Instead of switching our foods, she gave us attitude...

In a desolate desert of mediocre restaurants, Cubby's is a welcoming oasis for the foodies of the Utah Valley. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have never left anything short of impressed. I recommend the tri-tip salad or rip city tri-tip sammich because the meat has amazing flavor and is unbelievably tender. They marinate their meat for 3 days and then slow roast it. Other favorites are the cockadoodledoo and the dragon slayer. If you're feeling adventurous and want to try something new, definitely try the Mr. Beef. It has a uniquely delicious flavor and after a while you will find yourself craving it. The fries are always amazing. Salads are fresh and delicious. Eat here. Tri-tip salad is definitely the best option. A little of bit of salad, a little bit of meat, and some yummy toppings. I tried one of their sandwiches before and wasn't impressed. Also, if you're wondering the salad dressing is decent. If you're tight on money, feel free to pass on the rosemary fries. But it's worth a shot if you're willing to pay. Between BYU and Utah Valley University, there are more than 50,000 college undergraduates living in the Provo-Orem area. Despite all of those students, there really isn't a college town feel: malls and fast food chains predominate. Cubby's is one of very few exceptions. The food is delicious and imaginative, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the staff is laid-back and friendly. It's a great place to hang out with friends, enjoying a great sandwich and watching the game. To top it off, they have one heck of a terrific logo!

This is a place you would never think you'd find in Provo, maybe because it's not fast food and it's so good. Everything I've tried from here is great. A lot of their dishes are pretty heavy and meaty. Even their sandwiches without meat are pretty heavy. So if you don't like that sort of thing, go with their salads.

I will admit that the only thing I have gotten from here so far is the Dragonslayer burger--but it was probably the best burger I've ever had in my life. The food is fresh and delicious and I want to go back again and again to try some more things. The problem? (And the reason it's down a star). The price. I understand that it's fresh and quality, but it's way expensive. ~$8 for a burger WITHOUT fries or a drink or anything. Checking out their menu, that seemed about average. Also, for the price, the portion sizes I observed on other orders seemed really small for a $12 sandwich. That has kept most of my friends from going as well--they hear the food is stellar, but as soon as I mention the cost of the burger, they back out. I plan to come back, but it's definitely only a once-in-a-while treat, since I could go to a sit-down nice restaurant and pay about the same for more food.

My wife and I both got the tri tip steak sandwich because Clark, one of the employees, recommended it. It was the most flavorful sandwich I've ever had! Great suggestions, great service, fun atmosphere, and great food!

I've been here many times and it's one of my favorite spots to go when I'm hungry and want more than a burger. The regular Chicago Beef is good but the Tri-tip sandwich is where it is at. I've only had a burger once and wasn't impressed though. Make sure to get the buffalo blue cheese fries!

I found it to be an OK place. Personally I didn't like the burger at all and couldn't finish it. I also found the staff a little cold. Won't come back or recommend.

Great food, great atmosphere and reasonable prices! I got the chicken salad and the sweet potato fries and everything was bangin'. The salad was healthy and tasty and the fries were crispy. I usually get the dragonslayer with buffalo fries which is another favorite of mine. Highly recommended!

Amazing! Definitely lived up to its reputation! I was blown away by the tri tip steak sandwich and the buffalo fries! I will be returning soon!

The food is good here, but waaaaaaaaay too expensive. Although I can't really blame them, there are so few good choices for local ears in Provo that they can pretty much charge whatever they want and people will pay it.

  • Kristin F.

  • Summer C.

I don't understand the love for the buffalo fries. I felt like i might have enjoyed my fries more without the bleu cheese and buffalo sauce. tritip sandwich was ok but i felt like i spent a lot of money for what i got. the flavor was ok but not amazing. whatever.

YUM.

Everything here is amazing. I truly feel anything I order will be so so delicious. Whether you are just visiting or a resident in the Provo/Orem area, this place is a MUST!! Great food and great service!

My family has been raving about this burger place for so long, I finally got to try it out with my stepdad. It was GREAT. Helpful service, clean restaurant and most importantly, delicious burgers. I will definitely be back.

We were passing through town and we rushed here to get here before they closed. We saw the reviews and just had to eat here! It was worth the rush, they were friendly, food was so yummy and fresh! Loved the salad and sweet potato fries!

    (5)
  • Mike D.

Wonderful and flavorful! I got the "man" spice level. It wasn't that spicy. I could still taste all the favors. I highly recommend getting it dipped in the sauce. It might be a bit messy, but it's worth it.

  • Kish M.

  • Matthew D.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Double yes. This place was fantastic. And the owner man was, like, so killer. I highly suggest the Beet and Goat Cheese salad. And the Buffalo fries. And maybe the Dragonslayer too? And the interior...drool...

Probably one of the best little restaurants in Utah Valley. I've been 3 times so far and have loved everything I've tried. I'm just praying it doesn't get TOO busy, since the place is so tiny.

So good! I love the cockadoodledoo sandwich. SO much flavor. Whatever they marinate the chicken in is phenomenal. Then there's the fresh spring mix lettuce and avocado spread on it. And of course bacon how could you go wrong?! Delicious.

  • Mol E.

"Really tasty! Great tri-tip. It was hard to decide whether the sweet potato fries or rosemary fries were better. Our group included a salad eater and even she was satisfied and impressed. Oh -- and whoopie pies! (Yes, they ARE soft.)"

Beef!

The rip city tri-tip is insane. Best tri tip sandwich I've had. Who knew I'd find it in Provo, Utah! Great service, very fresh ingredients and good prices for very high quality product. Will definitely go back next time in town. Highly recommended and a must try.

Tri Tip salad! I once had the dipped sandwich which was messy and unenjoyable, but I've since converted to the salad and it is great. Go try it out.

  • Kaitlyn W.

  • Gary N.

Was anxiously waiting for Cubby's to open and it did not disappoint! Food was better than anticipated and the atmosphere was great. Menu is diverse with something for everyone.

  • Doug P.

So.

  • Taylor W.

This is a pretty decent place. The sandwiches are made with high quality beef and great bread. Sandwiches are a good price, and you get a ton of fries. I thought the rosemary pepper fries need a little more rosemary and pepper. That could be just me though.

Over priced and not all that great... I was very disappointed. I had the dragonslayer and it left much to be desired. Sadly the fries weren't that great either. For the price I paid for what I got... eh.

I was raised in the south, and I only went to Cubby's once, but I was less than impressed. From the reviews, I expected amazing BBQ, but it was pretty dry and not too flavorful.

YUM.
