Sorry guys but this place has gone downhill. I know they have signs that indicate it takes a good amount of time to make a grilled cheese sandwich. okay so I would estimate 15-20 minutes max. I have waited numerous times for sandwiches in there for 30-45 even 50 minutes when there's very few people in the store. The last time I was there not only did I have to wait a very long time, I'm talking like 45 minutes for food. There was only three people in the store. The woman who took my order was so rude and when I finally asked her about the food she reached back and looked at food that was on the warmer, which been sitting there for a long time, and it was my food. She said to me oh I'm so sorry we're short staffed, and I responded to her short staffed sure, however my food's been sitting there for about 20 minutes now, that's not a short staffed issue. I got my food to go and took it to my son who works around the corner at the Pleasant Grove Police Department. When he got it the sandwich it was soggy and cold. I used to like this restaurant... Anymore it's not worth going to consider yourself warned!
Been here multiple times with friends and family and it has always been a amazing experience. And when my 2 1/2 year old says the tomato basil soup is "so so so good" I'm inclined to agree.
Eaten here twice in the last two weeks. Got the apple-bacon-cheddar sandwich once and the turkey bacon avacado sandwich once. Both were exceptional! Based on feedback from others in my parties, everything they serve is very good. Do yourself a favor and eat here!

I got exactly what I wanted on my pizza and they were generous with their toppings. Love it. The service was friendly and fast.
Service was good I got two pizzas ready to bake for dinner tonight. They had lots of topping choices. I LOVE pizza and I love that there are some healthier options to my fave food.

Food is still awesome, place is getting so busy we now have to wait for a table to sit. I am so hooked on the shrimp po'boy and the Carolina pulled pork. I wonder if it is the coleslaw that makes these so awesome? Love hos this place is so consistent each and every time. Wish they would put a location in SLC.
I have had most of the menu here over the years and have never been disappointed. It is nice to put a little South in your mouth while in Utah!
I have been wanting to check this place out since it is in my general neighborhood and the Yelp reviews were encouraging. My wife and I stopped by last night and both got the Chicken Guacamole sandwich (grilled, not fried and with Swiss instead of pepper jack) and we were very happy with the results!bun not flaky. The buns were amazingly light and had a great texture and flavor, almost like a fresh croissant but not flaky. The veggies were fresh and delicious, the cheese was Swissy, and the chicken was tasty. It was a great chicken sandwich! Very good value for the money. The decor is a work in progress but I really like the rustic feel they are going for. A fair amount of seating is a plus because the place is getting some solid business as it should given the food quality and price. Family friendly and also good for a date or even just hanging out with friends. The big plus for me is that the burgers come with a free side, and I chose the house salad which was Real Salad! It was a fresh greens mix with fresh red onion, croutons, a little cheese and it was really good. The fact that it was a real salad and was part of the deal was terrific surprise! Chubby's is a great deal and definitely on my list of regular haunts starting now! Good job guys! The only suggestion I would make is to have the guacamole be made from scratch with fresh avocados. The guacamole is good now, but that would make it a 5 star burger for sure!

Easily my favorite pizza place in the area. My favorite is the Hawaiian bbq. I have yet to try a pizza I haven't liked. The crust is herb infused which makes it the best part.
They're pizza is pretty good, but their cheesy bread is to die for. They have friendly and helpful staff and the food comes quick and fresh. We love coming here!
Our family ate there tonight for the first time. The kids loved being able to watch the pizza being made. The workers were very nice with the "on-lookers." We arrived before it became busy, but still very fast service; fast causal, take out and delivery place. My oldest loved the cheesy garlic bread. The other kids loved there pepperoni pizza. My husband and I shared a spicy chicken buffalo pizza. It was awesome loved the flavor combinations. The bacon was the perfect crispness and a good amount of toppings too! We ended it with a pizzookie. A half-baked cookie with ice cream. Yum!

Because of the great reviews I had to give this place a try. The menu is simple and original. The owners are very friendly and do a great job making you feel at home. The Boston Burger was good. I think I need to try it again to give a honest review. The Fish and Chips (Frys) were good. The freshness of the food makes to food taste really good. The fry's were good a little overcooked and I like over cooked fry's. I'm going back for more. It's great to have a original grill that has great customer service and good food.
I just read some reviews on this place and thought to try it out. It surpassed my expectations. The food is extrely fresh and full of real flavor. I'll warn you that if you are looking for the flavors you get from the preservatives and processed food of most fast food burger joints then you probably won't appreciate this place. The meet is brought in every other day from a local farmer. The jalapeño burger I got had the spices mixed into the real beef patty. The owners were the only two people running the place. The wife worked the register and welcomed us and the husband ran the grill in the back. They will welcome you and will notice if you look new to the dinner and will present you with an explanation of where their food comes from and their standards of cooking. This was our experience. We will be going back and bring all of our family from out if state there next time they're in town. Two thumbs up!
I really liked the State Street Grill and will definitely come back on occasion with the wifey:) I hope not to beat a dead horse here, but I must echo the opinions of other reviewers: This place is slightly overpriced. I know price theory is a complicated topic -one many burger joint-eers probably avoid (though Milton Friedman's book on the topic is among the best). And unfortunately for them, being just slightly overpriced is costing them a lot of dough. The basic, high-quality, 1/3lb hamburger, in my opinion, should be $3.99 or less. Add fries and a drink for $1.99. State Street charges $4.59 and $2.99 respectively. Add cheese for $.50 and tax, and your lunch is getting close to $10. Ouch. Bring the price of all this down to $7 (this is not a full-service restaurant) and I'm stopping in multiple times per month. If it gets to the point where you can't meet demand, then start to think about expanding or raising prices. Okay, sorry about laboring the price thing. The burgers at this place are great. The ingredients are fresh and the buns are absolutely perfect. The lady that took my order was kind, mingling with the guests and thanking them as they left. I can't say enough about how AMAZING the chocolate milkshake was. It was perfect, and at around 20 ounces for $3.59, perfectly priced. I'll probably stop here quite often this summer just for a milkshake. You should too! And be sure to give the burgers a try while you're there!

Daylight Donuts

These are my favorite donuts in the state of Utah. Sometimes I waver between here and the Provo Bakery, but having recently left the state of Utah, there is something nostalgic and classic that makes me yearn for Daylight Donuts. What's good: the strawberry and cream bear claw literally changed my life, that is, I became an obese man eating them (jk). Also, the cake donuts are classic. What's ok: I love a good maple bar, and theirs are just ok, the frosting is too flaky.
Soft, fresh donuts; a little overpriced, but when you have no competition you can charge what you want. Not as greasy as traditional "pink box" shops. Their old fashioned are wonderful, but fritters are lacking spice. Decent substitution for those craving donuts in sparse Happy Valley.
Once a month we take a group of our church's 12-13 yr olds here after doing service early in the morning to treat them to a doughnut. When we've arrived after 7am, they are sometimes low on the best doughnut on the whole planet: bear claws with a light cream-cheese inner layer and fruit filling. You will want to come back for more, but by the time you do, they will be gone. So if you get there early enough, order as many cream cheese bears claws as you can while the selection is still good. So order lots while the getting is good. Our boys love them so much, they often bring their own money to order a few more. My favorite is raspberry cream, blueberry cream and apricot cream, but there are many other flavors they do this bear claw in. They make specialty fritters, and my son adores their maple "Long Johns". It is a family-owned place, in a little run-down shack, that has been doing the same thing for 20 or 30 years, which says a lot about the quality and service. The owner has an interesting Pez collection that is displayed around the store's glass. Unless our group of 12 boys is in front of you, the service is great and they should have you on your way, with a warm, hand-made doughnut melting in your mouth, within a minute or so of stepping inside, or going through the drive-through.

This place was great...good flavor, great portions...just a little loud for me!
Wonderful place to find food that exceeds your tastebuds expectations! Simple. Affordable. Delicious. That's Costa Vida. I'll return again and again; you will too, once you experience their food!
H-E-double-hockey-sticks has this happy valley Costa Vida gone down the crapper. I've been coming here for about two years and will consider this my breakup letter. Keep in mind this rating is not for the chain as a whole (I've had mostly good experiences overall) but just this particular location. I'm almost at a loss where to start. First of all, this location doesn't show up right in yelp or google maps. But hey, that's not their bad (so I'd assume), so can't really bag on that. Next, I had multiple nights where I tried to stop in before 9:30pm and even though the open sign was on, the schedule on the door and online clearly lists closing time at 10pm, the front door was locked and they were cleaning the lobby. Don't get me wrong I can sympathize with high school kids wanting to close up shop and get home 15 minutes before close when no one is in the lobby but 40+ minutes? Seriously? Either that's some major work theft going on or the owner just lets them off early. Regardless that blows when you've made a trip out of your way. I had another time I called in an order and was given a 10 minute estimated prep time. I got there 20 minutes later on a time crunch and they hadn't even started making it yet. Next, on my last and final visit the black beans weren't even completely cooked. But hey, maybe you'll be into the free crunch on your burrito. I wanted so badly to give this place one star but as the saying goes it could have been worse. After all, you get to watch your food prepared in a clean, trendy lobby so there's no funny business. Take the time to drive to a different location or Cafe Rio, you'll find them easier on the maps anyway.

This place will rival any for its street tacos! The price is rock bottom compared to similar establishments. The flavors are authentic and beautiful. The tacos de carne asada, the al pastor, the Costilla (pork rib) are my favorite. I love that they have a salsa bar that is self service so you can decide how much cilantro goes on your taco. The variety of salsas is perfect, there are five different kinds. The salsa that is red is a bit on the spicy side so beware but the salsa verde and the avocado like salsa are delicious. There is a mexican tienda/store attached to the restaurant, in fact that is where you go to pay your bill. Great to find any authentic mexican ingredients or inexpensive produce. Try a "Gansito" while you are there, it is Mexico's version of the twinkle but tastier. Los 2 Compadres has become my new obsession.
Love the street tacos here! And did I say they're only 99 cents? Eat up, mis Amigos! There are a ton of other items on the menu, they're good as well. We keep coming back for the great street tacos in a place that makes you feel just like you're in Mexico.
Very bad. This place needs Chef Ramsey. The chicken on my tacos was like rubber. My husband had a beef taco: not good. refried beans were good, but that's pretty hard to mess up.

My vote for a fast food Mexican restaurant. They are one of the favorites in my family. They have remodeled and enlarged their seating. They are always busy but the service is fast. We have been coming here for 20 years and the food is consistently yummy. The shakes are thick and they offer fresh fruit shakes in season. The strawberry is to die for.
Taco Amigo is the equivalent of a gas station burrito, just cooked for you. They serve burgers and fries and nothing is close to Mexican food. It's the super Americanized version of the basic taco and burrito. The teenagers that work here are friendly and move quickly which is why this isn't a one star. Tiny parking lot. Food: 1 Service: 4 Ambiance: NA Parking: 2
Ok first of all it is a little odd that it's called taco amigo and are known for there hamburgers and fries.... Put that aside they do have a pretty good standard hamburger (reminds me of a good old fashion fair burger) and the FRIES! Wow I understand why everyone brags about them! Granite they aren't fresh but they are freshly out of the deep fryer (rather then sitting under the heat lamp like McDonald's). They are a glorified McDonald's fries but hot, crispy, and you get your money's worth! The drive through is so busy but the customer service is great! Oh and they have really good fry sauce!
