Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

I love this village inn. The service and food is awesome! There is no point in going to Denny's or iHop when you can go to Village Inn. This is by far the best of it's kind! I dine here a lot and I have always had a great experience. The vibe of the diner is very comfortable and enjoyable. Also, every Wednesday you get free pie!

I'm surprised I've not reviewed here before. It's a Sunday brunch standard for years. I don't come here much for lunch, and never for dinner. I was here for lunch this time. I had the chicken fried chicken. Not bad, nothing really special. That's the way most of the food is. Mass produced, OK. However, this place does it better than the local competition. Should you get Dylan, you're in great hands. We didn't and the service was no more than acceptable. At one point while we were hoping our server would find us, Dylan noticed and took care of us, even though it was not his area. The pies are always pretty good. So, more like 3.5 stars, but with no better options, I don't want to give it 3.

We came in for pie. The pie was very good. The service was good but it was also around 9p which is midnight in Mormontown so it was us and a group celebrating something for which they won with a trophy. In the pecking order of chain coffee shops, it's miles above Denny's and Waffle House, but miles below a Bob Evans or a Cracker Barrel. Maybe somewhere around iHOP, but with much better sanitary conditions than most of the iHairs that I've visited (You don't want to ask how they earned that name, but don't look too carefully around your omelette or you might find out.). Good enough for coffee and pie. That's it.

The 4 stars are mostly for the service. Some of the best, attentive, and friendly service I've ever had at a restaurant. The waiter, Dylan, was very engaging, funny, and courteous to all the guests. He was the only one working in the front. Definitely a hard worker, cleaning, bussing, taking orders, etc. Absolutely out of the ordinary for most restaurants, especially what I expected from Village Inn. Food was alright. Hash browns were a bit chewy but the chocolate chip pancakes were good.

I had a good and bad visit here. Upon coming in, we waited for quite a bit of time because they were focused on everyone buying pies and forgot people were waiting to be seated. There system in the front is HORRIBLE! Actually, they have no system. They used one cashier when we needed to pay and there was no formed line so it took 15 minutes just to pay. As for the food, the nacho burger and crush patty melt were really good and our server marlie was a delight. As for everyone else working the front, figure out a better way to go about this because I was upset at how the front was being run.

This Village Inn is the flagship used for training chefs and managers because they do it so well here. Quick warning, Provo Village Inn gets zero stars, but Orem gets five. Sometimes it gets crazy busy because word has gotten around at how good they are. Dishes of Note: The California Skillet (mmmmmm) The Southwest Eggs Benedict (for spice) Pumpkin Pancakes (Seasonal) Fish and chips on Friday - I love these and I lived in England for years so I know good fish and chips.

California Skillet had an odd flavor. Pancakes were good. Syrup bottle VERY sticky, a good wipe down after each table use would do the trick. Not going back. Just a subpar experience food-wise and accommodations-wise.

My friends go here. I go with my friends. It's expensive for what you get, kinda dingy. The food is alright, but never once have the words "Let's go to Village Inn" ever escaped these lips. Nor shall they.

Not too bad, Popped in late at night with the family and service was quick and friendly.

Meh... So... I thought YELP would help me find a gem, a diamond in the rough... Nothing about the Village Inn was impressive. The food is Denny's average. It's IHop okay. Yelpers, you let me down, and that is so not like you. Totally disappointed with the glowing reviews. Maybe it's just that Provo doesn't have a real, old fashioned, non franchise, pancake house type breakfast restaurant. Too bad.

Um... No. Don't eat here unless you're desperate and you don't mind dinner food that's of hospital cafeteria quality.

Awesome place for breakfast. Huge selection on the menu. Free WiFi (good for 4 hours). Ginormous glass of OJ. Very affordably priced. Great service. Dylan was friendly, happy, and helpful. Great job Dylan. I heard the pie was good, but I did not have room left in my belly. I ordered the V.I.B - cheese omelette, hash brown, bacon, and strawberry crepes. All delicious. If I am ever in the area, I would definitely go here. They serve breakfast all day.

Think IHOP with a bit better quality and a bit smaller portions. Large selection of breakfast items and a good variety of lunch items too. They are open all night Friday and Saturday. Free slice of pie on Wednesdays! I'm not sure if this is a regular or temporary offering. Many types of pie available. Three bathrooms, and the men's room seemed small but also had a baby changing station in the stall. Mellow 80s music playing casually in the background.

I like Village Inn's options for sweet or savory for breakfasts. I had a really yummy bowl of oatmeal here the day after I ran the Utah Valley Marathon. Also, love the coffee and friendly service.

One of my favorite breakfast places. Don't miss the Rio Grande skillet or pancakes. The skillets are diced potatoes, onions, and sweet peppers topped with various things such as chicken or beef, chilis, eggs, various breakfast meats, sauces, and various veggies. When we moved out east, I had to learn to make these skillets at home because I couldn't find them like these anywhere else. The pancakes come hot and fluffy and there are all sorts of choices for toppings and syrups. You can get your omelette pretty much any way you want it. They serve lunch and dinner too, and the food is good. Their pie is very good and Wednesdays they give you a free piece of pie with your meal! The place is clean, the service is good, the price is right, and if you're a fan of breakfast like I am, you won't go away disappointed.

Craving for a morning meal, I happened upon this place while driving along University Parkway. I chose the strawberry crepes combo to break my fast. Strawberries had just gotten into season when I had it so the fresh strawberries were sweet. The meal portion was just right to fill me up. All in all this place is similar to other diners like Denny's or Norm's, but the servers here are a lot more friendly and the wait for the food wasn't too excruciating.

day 18 finally made it to utah... i am kind of looking at the long run of my trip and if i feel this worn down right now and i'm not even half done, how will i finish this? maybe that's the point. to be completely broken down and be built back up. all i know is i'm too stubborn to stop until the end. unless i run out of money haha. village inn. i was starving. they have these in oregon too. its a nicer version of denny's or ihop, etc. but closes earlier, much better, and prices are about the same. the inside though looks just like any of those other diners. i finished my meal in 5 minutes. he waiter came by saw me wolfing it down and he said, i dont think i even need to ask how you like it. here is the check. this place had friendly staff, one thing though he didn't give me the option to substitute the hotcakes with toast instead. i hate pancakes. but oh well im sure no one else would make that switch. but i like toast with my sunny side up eggs so i can dip it in the egg. is this just me?? i need an oil change already. i've gone over 3000 miles. its strange but even though i put so many miles between myself and la, it still follows me around. actually its weird physically i only get so many contact with people per day by choice or circumstance. i don't have the luxury like others to go vent to someone, or hang out with a buddy, or see your family member. so when the few interactions i have are unpleasant. man. you really feel worn down cuz they got the luxury to walk away and do something else whereas thats the last convo i will have for a while. physically my neck is killing me and so is my elbow, i am dog tired, and haven't been sleeping well. i mainly miss my folks. every place i go people ask me what the purpose of my trip is. my bosses think i'm going to go find myself. others think its just to train. others for fun. some think its to meet girls all over haha which is ridiculous. i read this book that said the important thing of all journeys is not what you find, but the journey itself. i just needed a journey i think. and somehow 3 weeks out i ended up in village inn in utah. worn out, eating chicken fried steak and eggs. this is me currently. a lot different than i was 3 weeks ago haha. static.px.yelp.com/photo… haha i think i need some support... whats that song, try a little tenderness haha. but instead of support i will settle for food, or a full tank of gas, or a couch to sleep on, or best of all free wi fi!
