    To be fair I only have been here once just out of curiosity. Getting to see you ice cream being made with liquid nitrogen which was pretty exciting. I thought I was rather expensive and just okay ice cream. We ended up throwing most of it out because of who strong the flavors were. The staff was stand offish at first and it took a while to get helped.

    Totally delicious Ice cream. They make the ice cream using liquid nitrogen and let you choose your base too. Friendly for lactose intolerant people. The ice cream is delicious too! Very creative and fun for everyone!

    My family and I love getting ice cream here. The kids like the watch them make it, I love to eat it. Win win! Really, the ice cream has a different texture than traditional ice cream but I really like it. I always get the highest fat content base and it is absolutely delicious! The prices are comparable to competitors such as cold stone so that is a plus. Check them out!

    This magical place has a sorcerer who pours soy milk into a pan, adds flavors of your choice, stirs in some enchanted, fogging water, and BAM - you have vegan ice cream. In freakin' Ogden! Oh, and I hear you can get cow's milk there too, but as I like to say, that stuff is for baby cows.

    it was fun to see how we'll eat ice cream IN THE FUTURE! ooooOOOOOOoooo seriously tho, gimmicky place. seems pricey but you get to watch the show. i'd rather have a cone full o good ol rootbeer from farrs around the corner tho.

    A few evenings ago my family had a bit of a sweet tooth and decided to grab some ice cream while we were wandering around The Junction. We stopped into Sub Zero Ice Cream and I was instantly a bit overwhelmed and a lot impressed. A giant tank of liquid nitrogen sits to the left of the counter, with steaming hoses attached, slowly leaking the cold fog over the counter. A stack of stainless steel bowls sit awaiting your choice of flavor and mix ins, and there are multiple bases to keep everyone happy. We ordered child size portions, which proved to be more than enough if not too much. The base is the liquid they pour in the bowl, and they have five bases of varying fat content to choose from. Premium (14%), Custard (10%), LowFat (5%), Yogurt (0%), and Soy/Rice (0%) - so nobody is left out of the fun. Next you choose a flavor, and a mix in (or a few of mix ins!) The flavors are too many to list, same as the mix ins- but believe me, there are plenty to choose from! They also have some flavor suggestions for anyone who is having trouble picking a mix. Your bowl is set under the liquid nitrogen hose, which pours out at -321*. The rapid freezing of the milk and the flash freeze prevents the water in the mix, resulting in ULTRA creamy and fabulous ice cream (keep in mind the higher the fat content, the creamier it will be!). Last but not least you get to choose the consistency of your ice cream. It can be as soft as soft serve, scoopable, or rock hard. My kids had a fabulous time watching the liquid nitrogen pour into the bowls and the ice-cold fog spill out over the counter, and the flavors all delivered. I really appreciated that they have so many flavors that no matter your mood, you can pick something to suit. I also truly love that they have dairy free options, as well as low-fat options for those of us watching our calories but still craving an occasional treat.

    This was awesome! I'm taking the kids here in the summer, it's really fun thing! Lots of favors and it's good like dippin dots! My hubby liked that there was custard and I liked the yogurt. I'll be going here again and again...and again

    This is a pretty incredible experience and if you have kids and you happen to be in Ogden, it's worth searching it out and doing it. It starts with ordering your ice cream (whichever ice cream base you want, there are about 10 to choose from, vegan options and custard and such), and then putting in as many flavors as you want. My son put so many flavors that is resembled soup and I didn't think they were going to be able to freeze it into an ice cream! One mix-in comes standard. You can get more if you want. It's very complicated and fun. Billions of options. The custom creation then gets sprayed with super cold gas and the staff member stirs it up and it turns into amazing ice cream! Totally worth it! And there's a lot of it. At the end, they blast it one more time so that it comes out steaming with bright white ice gas coming off the top. Then you get to eat outside in the blazing hot sun. It's very sensational. The only draw back was the service. The staff members were discussing their personal problems while they made our ice cream, which was sad. It's a brand new experience to most of the customers, so it would be fun to watch the process un-distracted by anything. There's something amazing about the process of a liquid turning into a solid. It's like watching a miracle.

    First off, this is the coolest concept ever! Props to whoever figured this out. The ice cream was pretty good, and my friend loves her custard. Our service was OK. He definitely wasn't having fun and I feel like it could be so much more of a "show". He seemed annoyed when he had to walk us through the ordering process (what base, now what flavor, ok what toppings...) Our 3 year olds were so excited and he didn't react or talk to them at all. He just made it and checked us out. He did his job and we got our ice cream, but it would have been "blah" service anywhere. We expected more from a place that you get to see the process and get excited. It definitely took the fun out of it. People after us had the same process: enter excited, talk about flavor and then wait for a show. Everyone we watched was not excited anymore. I'm positive the creator of this plae had something else in mind. The right employee would have changed this entirely! I won't be back to this location, but I might try another spot to see if the "vibe" is more positive.

    Lots of flavors and add ins but I'm still not really a fan of the final product. It's ok but not great. While we were there lots of other people came in so I can see that there are lots of people who really like the place. I would much, much rather go to Cold Stone. Their ice cream is much creamier.

    Talk about a tough decision! Door number one led into Sub Zero and door number two led into a neighboring cupcake shoppe. That's like a parent being asked the question "Which is your favorite child?" I don't know...I love them all the same. So, after much internal debate, I chose door number one to partake in a whole new ice cream experience, west coast style. That being, it's "made" right in front of you at the counter via liquid nitrogen. But first, you must decide your fat-inducing fate, which can be minimal with yogurt or extensive with whole custard. Mine was the "Birthday Cake Capacitor Sensation" custard, comprised of cake batter, fudge, cookie dough and sprinkles. Yeah, you read that right. Go back and read it again; I'll wait. Okay then. So, the girl mixed all of the ingredients together in a large, silver bowl and passed it off to a guy who instantly went all Bill Nye on it. When the steam settled and he finished stirring about ten seconds later, the ice cream magically appeared, which he scooped into a large, awaiting waffle bowl. Yeah, it was a little pricey and gimmicky, but I sure as heck didn't complain about either as I sat at at one of their outdoor tables, enjoying each and every bite of the delicious concoction. Like the one Facebook page says: "I F'n love science!"

    Sub Zero is a great kitschy novelty to enjoy and it's fun to be able to pick your flavors. It's not the best ice cream out there, but watching someone make your ice cream right in front of your eyes is a fairly fun and unique thing. Go for the novelty, but expect only okay ice cream.

    Kind of like a new age Cold Stone Creamery.... They use liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze the cream and make your creation right in front of you. Good tasting, good consistency. The decor isn't much and the area where they make the ice cream and display the mix-ins gets very messy, but they are pretty consistently busy. Biggest advice I can give is to order 2 sizes smaller then you would normally. A small or even kids size is going to be plenty big for most people. A medium or large is insanely big and more then enough for 2-3 people to share. The ice cream ends up over flowing the cup size.

    Was fun to watch how they made ice cream. It was pretty good. Seemed like the staff was very young and kind of a childish by letting kids go outside and throw liquid nitrogen on each other which is not safe.

    I've come here multiple times and never had a bad experience. The ice cream has always been very good and the staff really friendly. Definitely a good place to bring kids. Also if you're very picky this place is great as there aren't many limits to what flavors and concoctions you can make!
