Super good Thai food daily specials .this place is clean and very inviting the food is fresh and ample serving size the only draw back of this place is the service Is a family run business and it shows just be a little more proactive and make sure to get a pitcher of water (ONLY IF ORDER 5 STAR WITH THAI CHILES.

I was so excited when I saw that another Thai restaurant was moving in to this building. Their Golden Bags are to DIE FOR. They are so neatly wrapped and fried to a delicious golden crisp. I also sampled their crab cheese won tons, which were sub-par. My husband and I tried their peanut sauce fried tofu, and the pad see ew. I loved both entree's. We will definitely be back here!

I've been watching the renovation of this Ruan Thai (formerly Thai Monk Gol) and waiting patiently for it to open. The new owners have done an excellent job remodeling this old run-down restaurant. I went in for a take out menu and and was pleasantly surprised that the new decor is clean, modern and inviting. A far cry from the old previous owners decor. I ordered my usual yellow curry with tofu. I brought it home and was really surprised by the quantity. For $7.50 I got what seemed more like a dinner portion. The menu says that my lunch combination should have come with rice, salad, crispy spring roll and soup. I was really disappointed that my spring roll and soup were missing. I can understand if they don't want to package soup for take out and that's okay, but I was really, really looking forward to trying a new spring roll. Next time I'll have to make sure it's in my bag before I leave. The salad was a surprise. I've never been served a complimentary salad with curry, and it was boring iceberg lettuce and carrots but it had a good dressing. The curry itself was quite tasty. A little strong on the lemongrass, but very good. The tofu was cooked just the way I like it, a chewy skin and soft on the inside. Overall I was pleased and Ruan Thai is definitely a place I will frequent.

We went there for lunch, had drunken noodles, and basil chicken stir fry. Basil chicken was OK, nothing spectacular, the spring roll was cold, the drunken noodles are over-cooked (mushy), and some vegie in it was cold(but the noodles were warm), it seems like they pre-cooked stuff and reheat it after you order. I did not like that very much. overall, it could be better.

I heard there were new owners and chef, so we stopped by and were very glad we did. We've been back several times but only for lunch. The service is very attentive and the food very authentic.... which also means on the spicy side. Their lunch combos are excellent. I would presume their suppers are also. My only complaint is the two giant flat screen TVs they keep on continuously. Kinda ruins the atmosphere and is just weird in a Thai restaurant

Their food and services are excellent. I used to get a takeout from here least once a week when I used to work right by. Their drunken noodle is soo addictive.

I love this place! It's super close to my work so I go here often for a fresh fast lunch. They offer geat lunch specials so its a bargain to at here for what you get. I useally get the Pan ang it's amazing. Do your self a favor skip the pad thai and step out your your comfort zone and try the curries you will be glade you did! The place is clean and the service is friendly.

My husband and I discovered this restaurant about three weeks ago, and we have been back 3 times since, it is that good! The service is GREAT! The chef has always come out personally after we have received our meal to make sure everything is good. I would highly suggest getting the fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. So far each meal that my husband and I have tried has been their daily special for $7.50. It includes the meal and a salad. I have not had the same thing twice and I have thoroughly enjoyed each item I have gotten. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Soo good! We ordered their pan ew and the appetizer sampler. Not as spicy as I thought but so tasty! I asked for siracha and she also gave me this chili mango type salsa. I was a little frightened when I walked in because I seriously smelled taquitos lol but ended up being so surprised. A great price also, we will be going back soon to this diamond in the rough!

For the price of the dishes....and the portion size, this place can't be beat. Everyone went home with extra food as we couldnt finish our plates. So the flavours are certainly there....in each dish. And thankfully(for me) TOFU is offered in almost every item! ...the only negative points were: I was confused because there is still old signage on parts of the building. The menu's were wet and sticky....not sure what I was touching.

First visit under the new ownership. Nice remodeling job. Ordered pad thai and thought it was okay, though it was not as spicy as I prefer it. I asked the server for hot sauce and she returned with a little bowl of sauce and container of ground thai chilies. One heaping teaspoon of the chili powder made it taste like the real deal. I also noted that they weren't heavy handed with the fish sauce in the dish - much appreciated. The service was good, the food arrived to the table hot, and the prices are reasonable. Nice, inexpensive way to get a quick Thai fix.

The food was all very good! The spring rolls are huge and so fresh. The peanut sauce with it was especially nice. Unfortunately for our experience, there were prom groups here and the restaurant was clearly understaffed. We had quite a wait for service and the did not see our waitress again for water refills. But the food was exceptional...and I believe the crowds were unexpected. I hope to be able to try the mango sticky rice, but not sure how long we can wait for that...

I believe that the taste of the chicken pad thai was very mediocre in comparison to other establishments. I found that the staff was very friendly and kind. The restaurant was clean and tidy. I will have to dine here again to see if I possibly just ordered wrong.

I love this place's yellow veggie curry! I try it everywhere and I would say this is Ogden's 2nd best in flavor, but the very best in price for the lunch special!

Down the street from Aroy-D but a lesser choice. We came here because they are open on Sunday. Had the appetizer sampler and it was delicious. The pad siew was less than average. I ordered beef pho and it was okay; I expected condiments (basil, sprouts, lime, hoisin, siracha) and didn't get them. Still the pho was generous with pretty good flavor. The service was very slow; it was Mother's Day but only 2 tables seated when we walked in. For my time and money, Aroy-D is a better restaurant with better food and service. I'd come here again and try the drunken noodles if Aroy-D was closed.

The food was hot and fresh. The flavoring was excellent with a beautiful presentation. We had the Panang Curry, Pad Thai, Ginger Chicken stir fry & fresh mangoes with coconut sticky rice. We will be back! I was worried that medium would be too hot so I went with mild. Next time I will go with medium I think it will be about perfect. The only reason why we did not give them a five was because they were rather busy and the service was a little bit delayed. We had to wait to have our water glasses filled a couple of times.

My wife and I agree that Ruan Thai is the second best Thai restaurant that we have ever eaten at in the United States of America!!! Never thought that we would discover such a gem in Ogden, Utah. Dropped by twice during our stay in Utah. Yummy Thai food is made here. Everything we ordered was fabulous! I had three favorite items here. The Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the Mango with Sticky Rice. Service was terrific, place was clean, generous portions, and reasonably priced! Wish we had a Thai restaurant in my hometown as good as Ruan Thai. Next time we are in the area, dining here again will be a priority!

I'd driven by this place almost everyday and saw lots of cars in the parking lot. I took this to be a good sign and finally stopped in. I was not disappointed the food was yummy service was friendly and the atmosphere was great. I almost didn't save enough room for the mango sticky rice but man was it good!

Great service and atmosphere here. The servers are friendly and attentive unlike most Asian restaurants where the servers look like they are about to die with boredom. This place is family ran and I feel like they really know how to treat their customers. The spring rolls are fresh and the pho was delish! The pho has a Thai twist to it with different herbs and more of a lemongrass flavor but honestly I like Thai pho more than Vietnamese pho. The broth was clear, the noodles didn't stick together or were overlooked, and the meat tastes really good. The spices that come with the Thai pho are a little different that that of Vietnamese pho but you still get your compliments of hoisin sauce and sriracha. If I lived in Roy I would definitely come back here again and again .

We come here at least once a week, it has the best pho I think I've ever had! I ate it all the time when I lived in Vegas but for being a small restaurant on 12th St in Ogden they hold their own! They always have amazing service, the same server Anastasia helps us just about every time, she is really nice and on top of everything! The only thing that I'd say they should do is have a loyalty card or program!

So, Ruan Thai. I was on my way to Dickeys but I landed in your parking lot. I like trying new things and as I always say, it's a either a win or fail. THIS WAS A MAJOR WIN! As soon as I got there I was promptly seated I believe by Ms. Nu, and had excellent service and even better recommendations for me as I had never had Thai. So, after impressing on me that the drunken noodles were good, I ordered that and a Thai ice tea. Ms. Nu brought a simple salad out but lemme tell you, their house made sesame dressing has to be THE BEST DRESSING I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! That salad was more than enough to convince me that I will be a loyal patron for a looooooong time. Honestly I dislike salads, find no use in leafy greens but I tell you I finished every single leaf on that plate. IT'S THAT GOOD! the ENTREE!! DRUNKEN NOODLES ARE THE WAY TO GO!! Bell peppers, FRESH tomato chunks, crisp broccoli, baby Corn, tender chicken, tender mushrooms, sweet onions flavorful sauce and perfectly seasoned chicken. One of the BEST meals I've ever HAD. The THAI ICED TEA!! Look at the picture, stir, enjoy this Asian nectar, every single sip of this slightly bitter, sweetened, cinnamon, lemon and milk infused drink of Gods. Food this good is hard to come by. Forgo the Panda and step away from Mr. Chang and Maple trees. This is arguably the best non americanized Asian food I've ever HAD. This. Is. A gem. UPDATE 6-20-14. Let me just say this possibly has become my FAVORITE restaurant in the state of Utah. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by WSUs Women's Soccer coach who volunteers there (how sweet is that?) then after being seated I'm brought out a water. Then Mrs. Nu comes out to greet me and brings out a Thai tea and that life changing salad (She knew exactly what I wanted without me even saying it). Then she helps me choose between two lunch specials so I decide on the chicken stir fry.... If you have not been here for lunch, do come. I was brought out an ENORMOUS portion of food that consisted of a spring roll w/sweet & sour sauce (that was extremely tasty) about 1/3lb of perfectly cooked white rice, a so delightful bowl of sweet and spicy soup that TASTED SO GOOD! A complimentary bowl of coconut chicken soup that had me wishing I could marry their cuisine, and a heaping amount of tender juicy chicken with crisp bell peppers, succulent onions, carrots and green beans with fresh Thai Basil. Later came four fried wonton like packages of joy as dessert. The food was amazing. And when I say amazing I MEAN OVER THE TOP DELICIOUS. But what really stood out to me was how attentive they were to the other customers. The chef/co owner came out to greet me and I could find no other ways to describe him other than down to earth, humble and professional. I tried telling him in all the ways I could how good his food was and by seeing his face reaction you can see this place means the world to him. Going back to the other customers, I saw THE CHEF come out plenty of times to take orders, ask about the food, and even pick up plates. The server made every single customer smile, filing drinks, answering questions and Mrs. Nu would check on customers every 5-10 minutes, asking if anything was needed, how the food was or giving advice on the food. Never have I seen a restaurant where all of this was present in one place. The food, ambience, culture, the tangible, the service to the clientele. This is only 1 of 3 restaurants that I've been to, ranging from Nevada, Arizona, California and Utah that I will avidly support. This place truly deserves your visit.
